people you'd like to get to know better game
heyy @smolhours thank you so much for the tag! hope you've been well? always nice to see you on my dashboard.
last song: tere bin by atif aslam (I MISS THIS MAN singing nowadays and his voice. the nostalgia though....is off the roof bc tell me why bollyword don't make music like this anymore)
favorite color: monochromatic, pastels & all shades of blue (forgive me but i cannot for the life of me choose a single colour as a favourite)
sweet/savory/spicy: i'm desi, specifically bengali indian so you CANNOT expect me not to say spicy. (although bengalis are quite known all around the world for the magic they do with their sweets, i'm not a really sweet person. although i do have some favs like rosomalai, chanar jilepi, motichur [not the laddu, this one is square-shaped], patishaptah & of course, the classics - warm chanar rosogolla & misti doi.)
currently watching: yesterday i finished utakoi & it was overall a pretty good show. i liked most of the female characters tbh more than their male counterparts. currently, i'm not really planning on binge watching anything although i'm watching the recent episodes of ghosts season 3 (the us version) once in a while. it's a fun show to watch to make my mood better. (i know many people prefer the og uk version but well, i tried to watch that & i absolutely hated the colour grading and idk couldn't vibe with the characters, sorry!!)
relationship status: single
current obsession: just like @smolhours (i wish i could catch your name, please tell me only if you want though, a nickname will be good too), i'm too very much obsessed with raven of the inner palace, what a wonderful show and what a masterpiece LN series. my honest wish is that i hope it gets the crown it deserves. i cannot believe i've read some people say that the writing is 'shallow'...how preposterous. i had to roll my eyes so bad at such comments but regardless, i want more and more people to discover this series (crossed fingered & praying for a second season!!!)
last google: "is eyedrops poison" because i saw on twt that a woman killed another woman while in prison with eyedrops. imagine how baffled i was when i learnt that apparently, eyedrops, if consumed (by mistake) can be toxic to us. the ingrediant that does the poisoning is tetrahydrozoline. it makes our blood level toxic (?) i guess. now, i use eye drops everyday because my eyes gets dry pretty often. it sort of an allergy thingy (plus hereditary issue) so yeah....need to REAL careful from now on.
(not gonna tag anyone specific, anyone can feel free to do this!)

Prompt #8: Tepid
Khulan made good company, even if - they had found - company was all they really wanted from each other.
She sits humming a lazy tune nearby, while Dayir stares down into his tea. As he had been doing for the last five minutes.
Eventually the humming comes to a stop, and the absence of the noise almost snaps him out of his reverie. Almost.
What ultimately does it is her voice inquiring, “Something on your mind? Your tea’s getting cold.”
“Huh,” Dayir whips his head around to face her. “No.” He takes a large, long sip of tea.
She stares flatly at him, “Okay, yeah. That’s a lie.”
He lowers the tea after another long sip, and admits, “Yeah, it’s a lie.”
“So… anything you want to talk about?”
“Not important, really.”
She prods him with a foot, hard enough that it almost knocks him over and some tea splashes from his bowl onto his clothes. “Liar.”
“Hey!” he wipes at the spilled tea, “Fine! Fine, it’s uh. I noticed Chanar’s been… I think he’s taken an interest in Amba?”
Khulan scoffs, then laughs, “Oh, good fucking luck on his part. Amba’s interest in other people is tepid at best. Don’t think it’s even that, really.”
The statement helps loosen the uneasy feeling in Dayir’s chest and he lets out a laugh as well. “You’re right. Nothing to worry about, I’m sure.” He takes a sip of his tea. Khulan was right. It was getting cold.
She raises a brow at him, her laughter dying off a little. “Are you concerned for him?”
“No? Like you said, not like Amba’s going to be interested.” Right? He feels his brow crease.
Somehow Khulan’s brow managed to arch even higher, “Hm. What if he was interested, though?”
Dayir frowns, traces the edge of his bowl with a thumb, “Well, I guess… that’s not really my business.
Khulan gives him a long look of disbelief.
“What?” he asks.
“Wow,” She shakes her head. Then gives him an uneven grin and asks, “Would it bother you if he kissed him?”
Dayir’s mouth drops open just a little, and he snaps it shut almost immediately. “Well, I -” he pauses to consider, brow knitting in the process, “I… guess it would. Huh.” He stares blankly into space as he ponders the revelation, but Khulan interrupts his confusion.
“What if Chanar kissed me, then.”
Dayir looks at her questioningly. “Do you even want to kiss him?”
“Not the point, Dayir.” She crosses her arms.
He considers for a moment, “I guess I’d say good for you? Not like he’d be able to kiss you if you didn’t want him to. You’d deck him.”
“Hmmm…” Khulan hums in a playful tone.
“What?”
“Well…” she tilts her head at him.
“... What?” he isn’t sure he likes the mischief on her face.
“So,” she points a finger to her chest, “We’ve fucked, and you’re okay with me kissing someone else. But not so okay with Amba kissing someone else.”
“I…” Dayir stares at the wall, puzzled, “Yeah… You’re right.”
“Hmm…”
“Huh.”
Khulan sighs impatiently.
“What?”
An amused eye roll, and she directs her eyes up at the roof ring, “I wonder why that is.” The statement is half sung.
“What do you mean?”
“Think about it.”
There’s a long silence as he does so, staring blankly at her.
“Okay, fine. Let me make it easier. What if you kissed Amba?”
“I -” the quizzical smile drops from his face. And a few moments later a realization sinks in.
“Okay. There it is.” Khulan stands up, “I’m just gonna leave you with that.” She pats him on the shoulder and heads out of the yurt.
Dayir is left in silence with the new revelation. He thinks it through for some time, and is left with a single thought.
Amba doesn’t seem to like anyone.
Well. Shit.

Sanathana dharma has survived and flourished
Udhayanidhi Stalin Calling for Eradication of Sanatanam 👇🏻
His mother visits Sanathanam temples, but he has different belief, does he want to hurt his mother’s beliefs?
👇🏻
Tumblr media
Certainly caste & all discrimination, exploitation (prevalent all over the medieval WORLD before INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION) should be abolished from Indian society.   But we should not burn OUR HOUSE because of nuisance from some rats
👇🏻
https://www.exoticindiaart.com/book/details/robert-caldwell-wrong-and-untrue-analysis-and-dravidian-caste-politics-tamil-mzg528/
“Robert Caldwell wrote A Comparative Grammar of the Dravidian or South-Indian family of languages. He identified south Indian Brahmins with Indo-Europeans, which was partly based on HIS  belief that the Indo-Europeans had "higher mental gifts and higher capacity for civilisation".  Caldwell asserted that the low-caste Chanar were not merely Tamil speakers but an "indigenous Dravidian" people, distinct ethnically &, most critically for him, religiously, from their high-caste oppressors, whom he referred to as "Brahmanical Aryans" (in this case "Aryan" as an ethnic signifier for foreign and "Brahmanical" to signify the "Hinduism" of the high-caste).
These WILDLY SPECULATIVE. claims, well outside the scope of linguistics, were intended "to develop a history which asserted that the indigenous Dravidians had been subdued and colonized by the Brahmanical Aryans".
Tamil Language has almost ALL alphabets common with most Indian languages.
Most of other Indian women wear Saree like Tamil women.
From Assam to Kashmir people of India worship Shiva, Vishnu& Shakthi
Brahmins &most North Indians worship all the Gods in temples of Tamilnadu. Crores of North Indians Visit Tamil temples. Tamil Nadu has most number of spritual tourists in India.
There is diversity & differences in Indian culture, but Tamils have lots in common with rest of India
Robert Caldwell started creating differences between Tamils & other Indians, he sowed the seeds of division/ hate
👇🏻
Hatred against other states being propagated by some regional chauvinists 👇🏻
https://www.exoticindiaart.com/book/details/robert-caldwell-wrong-and-untrue-analysis-and-dravidian-caste-politics-tamil-mzg528/
👇🏻📸 Watch this video on Facebook https://fb.watch/mPU8iQYxVI/?mibextid=ifW6Jt
An extremist like PazhaniBaba talks about Murugan, but the practical truth is many North Indians worship Murugan /  Karthikeyan 👇🏻
youtube
The objective of such extremist  is to divide Indians.
See around you , how many people from other beliefs respect  ancient Tamil Gods?  One %?
many of other faiths call Indian culture as  Pagans, Kafirs?   No mutual respect.
How many take foreign money to convert poor people? Or to indulge in violent War
We should love our language, culture & faith.
We should not give up one love for other love, we should not love one & hate  other
We should not indulge in hate & violence against other peaceful neighbors. Social, political, community leaders should try to suggest middle path & SOLVE PROBLEMS, they should not too much highlight the differences & hate diverse thoughts. They should not stress that one community alone has life-death issues & other social groups are not important
Africa, South America & Australia lost its free sprit & culture, now they follow European culture.
Japan Korea China have their own culture, they don’t fight too many wars.    But Africans  & South American have violent armed rebels & mafia,  they not progressing because they have lost their culture & brotherhood
How Portuguese and other European conquerers made thousands of Indians, Africans, Brazilians as slaves (to SUPPRESS them as bonded LABOUR &  stress racial and cultural superiority)👇🏻
👇🏻
"although slavery was a worldwide institution for thousands of years, nowhere in the world was slavery a controversial issue prior to the 18th century. People of every race and color were enslaved – and enslaved others.
White people were still being bought and sold as slaves in the Ottoman Empire, decades after American blacks were freed.
Everyone hated the idea of being a slave but few had any qualms about enslaving others. Slavery was just not an issue, not even among intellectuals, much less among political leaders, until the 18th century – and then it was an issue only in Western civilization."
Only after INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION in Europe people in there started UNIVERSAL EDUCATION so that they get EDUCATED / SKILLED LABOUR . Before that most societies in the world kept the poor uneducated and socially backward
Slavery exploitation is an evil which has been prevalent from ancient times in most of the societies
👇🏻
Jews have literature / documents to show how they were enslaved by Egyptians and Babylonians
Slavery, Exploitation very prevalent evil of most societies in ancient times.  The purpose  appears to  ensure people of certain races/ classes are  kept as BONDED LABOUR from birth 👇🏻
Clearly caste-JATI system followed in India was an In-human behaviour of exploitation and suppression of people for using them as Labour.
Now  It is the duty of more rich and PRIVILEGED to help poor and socially vulnerable people and ensure mutual respect and equality in society.
The ancient concept of all “VARNA” was misused to create unjust division of labour, the fact that varna only means human behaviour pattern - WITHOUT ANY LINK TO CASTE OR FAMILY OF BIRTH  was misinterpreted and the fact that  “ All varnas lead to me (Krishna)” was suppressed .  Four children of same parents can follow the behaviour pattern of four different varnas, appeared to be the ancient concept of varna. Which was misused as family based varnas during the period when slavery started to be followed in other parts of the world
