if you are ever tempted to frame thor as the practical, to-the-point brother who values utility over aesthetics, please remember that he wore that fucking cape to commit treason on jotunheim. and if you are ever tempted to frame loki as the clever, efficient brother who values utility over aesthetics, please remember that he wore that fucking horned helmet to commit treason in his own back garden, then lost it in the void and entirely intentionally remade an even stupider version to commit treason on midgard.

“ you’re such a tease. “
@goddamnmuses
"I'm a tease? What have I done that you could say I was teasing?" Wanda looked a little confused, honestly not knowing just what she could have possibly done to tease the God of Thunder himself. "I mean, all I've been doing is sitting here watching a movie, I'm not sure how that counts as teasing Thor. Unless you want to enlighten me?"

USFW / 10 mm / Steve & Thor
@voluntadfuerte
Snuggling into Thor's side as they stopped to catch their breath, Steve rested his head against the other's chest and pressed a few kisses against the skin. He knew that by tomorrow, he would be a little achy, but he didn't mind. Thor made him feel good and he didn't want to stop. "How are you feeling?" He asked, peering up at him, "think you got another in you?"

ranking random marvel men by how helpful i think they are in domestic settings
tony stark – 0/10 cannot cook cannot clean if you tell me otherwise ill bite you he has never cleaned a day in his life and that's okay.
simon williams – 0/10 has also never cleaned a day in his life and sure as hell won't start now.
thor odinson – 0/10 like he thinks he's being super helpful but he keeps accidentally breaking things and smashing plates and making a mess in the kitchen but he acts real cute about it so nobody gets mad at him really.
bruce banner – 1/10 he does his best but disaster follows him wherever he goes. he can't help it. everything that can go wrong will go wrong. he tries to make a nice meal and the fridge breaks so nothing is cold and the oven destroys the meat and the vegetables all get overboiled and he drops the wine bottle and it smashes on the carpet and and and it's just a bad time. he's doing his best.
roberto da costa – 1/10 you didn't marry him for his domestic skills.
bucky barnes – 2/10 keeps putting knives in random ass places n doesn't tell you.
logan howlett – 3/10 look he's a good cook and remembers to stock the fridge but he tracks blood in like at least once a week and it takes forever to remove from the carpet.
remy lebeau – 4/10 points deducted for not washing himself
bishop – 5/10 he grew up in a dystopia with on rations and it shows. the only thing you're eating with him is rehydrated beef or some shit. keeps the cleanest sparsest environment you've ever seen though
hank pym – 6/10 generally good at cooking, cleaning, buying shit etc but uhhh succumbs to the Horrors bimonthly
pietro maximoff – 7/10 will clean everything that gets messy, he likes a clean environment, but hates buying food vocally and gets kitchen rage when making food, his food is very good though
reed richards – 7/10 has made various machines to do washing, cleaning, cooking, laundry etc but cannot be trusted in a supermarket unattended, struggles to cook generally but can be trusted to make a few really good meals
luke cage – 8/10 i don't think he can cook for shit but he is great for remembering shopping and keeping things clean and tidy and we know he's a great dad so .
scott summers – 8/10 cleans everything, has a photographic memory of what's in the fridge and seems to telepathically know when something is broken or needs replacing but the only thing he serves is soup.
sam wilson – 10/10 good at cooking, remembers groceries, loves hosting people, keeps getting nice expensive wines to enjoy over the weekend as a nice treat from all the captain america shenanigans
steve rogers – 10/10 likes to clean likes to cook enjoys just relaxing and doing chores when not captain america-ing, will absolutely pick up stuff for dinner back from a fight with hydra or whatever

Do you have anyone you would ship Jean with that isn’t Scott or the Phoenix? If so, why? If not, why?
Last anon: And I totally mean “ship” in that you would like it to be canon /or/ you would like to see it in au of some sorts!
Absolutely! I'm always going to be for Jean/Scott first and foremost, but I am a multishipper and there are lots of people I think she would be fun with.
Probably the main one is Jean/Ororo, I love their canon friendship and I think they would be a really good couple. (I’m also into Scott/Ororo, so Jean/Scott/Ororo is good too.) I think they complement each other well in battle and out of it, where Ororo is more pragmatic and Jean is more optimistic but they have a shared vision of what they want the future to look like and the determination to get there. I also like that they do in canon have an intimacy that is easy to read as romantic. There’s a scene where Ororo is on the brink of death and Jean comes in to save her, but Ororo asks her to wait so that she can see her parents in the space between life and death, and then she introduces Jean to her parents. Jean is allowed to witness such an important reunion, and Ororo even invites her to do so, because they are extremely close and important to each other. In the drama of their lives, they provide a space to be quiet together, and I think that’s a really solid foundation for a ship.
Jean/Wanda is also good, more for what I’ve seen the fandom do with it than for anything in canon (although their friendship in XMFC is adorable). The aesthetics of it, too, are just amazing, they’re both incredibly powerful women with space-y aesthetics. And they’ve both done things that they really do regret but they’re moving on from them and they refuse to let them define them. Jean-and-Wanda-raise-the-twins AUs are always going to have a special place in my heart.
Jean/Bishop kind of came out of nowhere and surprised me, but I’m not opposed to it. Bishop has the kind of unflinching morality that Jean finds so attractive in Scott (although Bishop’s code of ethics is different from Scott’s), and for Bishop I think Jean has a hope/optimism that is good for him. I doubt we’ll ever see anything more done with this couple, but like I said, I’m open to it for sure.
Then there are a whole bunch of guys where I’m like, okay, in another life, I guess this could’ve happened. Warren’s the most obvious one, but also I think it would be interesting to see her with Gambit or Kurt or Hank. (I didn’t really like the teen!Jean/Hank plot; I am talking about other universes here.) I feel like it would be easy to be like, yeah, in this alternate universe something happened and Jean and Scott didn’t end up together, so she’s with [other X-Men member she has a decent relationship with] and that’s just a thing that everyone’s used to.
With Warren, they are like probably quietly going through a divorce that they don’t want anyone to know about because they’ve always been the face of the X-Men and the rock on which everyone else depends but they’re really better off as friends. With Hank, it depends on which Hank we’ve got. Classic Hank, he and Jean are very dramatic all the time and have several elaborate rituals that everyone else finds disgustingly affectionate. With modern Hank, we get a seriously preachy Jean who is always 0.2 seconds away from giving him a lecture on why locking people up without trial is Bad, Actually. With Kurt, they both have heavy subtext with Logan (listen. I hate Jean/Logan but I’ll allow it in the context of this specific AU) but mostly Kurt always catches her in his arms when she’s about to fall and smiles his most charming smile and then teleports her to safety and she always gets super mad and goes full godmode when anyone hurts her boyfriend. With Gambit, I think you have to go full nineties with the characters. He does not have half of the growth that our Gambit has had and she is in her least subtle and most dramatic characterization. They fight regularly and then passionately make up only when one of them gets into danger. (As you can tell, I don’t take any of these ship opportunities particularly seriously.)
My problem is that if Jean and Scott are anywhere near each other in a story, I want them to be together. I think they exist, naturally, at the center of each others’ stories, and it’s really hard for me to entertain the thought of other Jean ships when Scott is in the picture. 😭 This may be indicative that there is something Wrong With Me, but mostly I just think that from the beginning, Jean and Scott’s stories have always been written to be about both of them together, and so their relationship is very fundamental to the characters they are today, and I want to continue their character growth together. I love characters whose narratives are inseparable.
Thank you for the question! =D

another thing that's really uncomfortable about the comics backstory is that it's very often like. 1. loki was adopted as a ~10 year old, not a baby, and therefore 2. his heritage was never even remotely a secret. and in this circumstance i feel like thor being abusive (esp from the start) is... so much worse?
like, in the mcu with its secrecy and early adoption, you can say that if thor mistreats loki, it's at least partly because he's semi-consciously picking up on their parents not treating loki as equal, but he doesn't know why, so it's just How Things Are (and always have been, literally as long as he can remember!). like, loki being abused is normalised at a fundamental level for thor. and if odin and frigga don't intervene, well, they've already proven their willingness to treat loki as inferior by lying to him his whole life. the mcu is definitely its own kind of horrifying, but it's a quiet and insidious kind, and you can see how the characters could be gradually led into worse and worse actions over time.
whereas in comics canon, where everything is out in the open from the start... thor mistreating loki just looks like straightforward, conscious prejudice. even if he claims otherwise, it's really hard to believe that space racism ISN'T a factor. sure, you just decided your adopted-brother-from-a-completely-dehumanised-enemy-species is your inferior for... no reason. convincing! and the parents not intervening is like... they don't even have anything to hide??? why would you even be hands-off about this unless you literally, consciously want it to happen? it's literally just like. "hey 'dad' you know the boy you told to treat me like a brother last week? well he isn't doing that. he's using me as a punchbag instead" "oh. how sad, my son." "are you going to tell him to stop???" "no."
like, when mcu thor calls loki his brother i believe him. i really do think that mcu thor truly and deeply sees loki as his brother, and himself and loki as fundamentally tied together (to a potentially unhealthy extent), etc etc. but sometimes when comics thor calls loki his brother it's like... okay, but you've never treated him like a brother. you have spent your whole life punishing him for being different at every opportunity. but now that you want to scold him, you're brothers? this is not love! this is an excuse!!!
like. i may not be being entirely fair to the comics here; there may be far better and more complex versions i haven't found yet. but just based on my experience so far... in the mcu, "they hurt you but they're your family" is this elaborate manipulative mind game where everyone involved really does love each but finds ways to justify the abuse anyway, so love and abuse are inseparable and often expressed by the exact same act, and this causes fundamental damage to the sons' concept of what love even is, whether love without abuse is *possible*, whether ceasing to love "family" is *possible*, etc etc... whereas in many of the comics, "they hurt you but they're your family" is like. those are literally the only two things they do. they hurt you, and then they SAY you're their family to stake ownership while doing absolutely nothing to prove their alleged love, not even the barest scraps of affection, ever. like come on??? i would cause the apocalypse over and over too!!!
(and as i said before - the situation being bad doesn't make the writing bad. but this continuous hand-wringing and pretending that thor's part in it is more complicated and more sympathetic than they ever actually show... does.)

❛If you need someone to talk to I'm always just one phone call away.❜
@the-mjolnir-owner
Hearing that come from Thor, Wanda honestly was a little surprised. Not that she thought the god wasn't the type to offer help, more that she didn't think they had been all that close that he would have thought of her. "Thank you..." she began, feeling a little awkward in the moment as she rubbed at her face, "I guess.. I just didn't want to bother anyone with my problems when there's enough going on already..."

[  MORNING  ] ;  the sender wakes the receiver up with sex.  / Thor @ Steve
They had fallen asleep together after an intimate night together, Steve nestled in Thor’s arms, his back against his chest. He had stirred a little when he could feel the other moving behind him, a hand brushing over his chest and something hard brushing against his ass. Smiling to himself, he let out a soft yawn before mumbling, “you want some help with that morning wood? We can go another round right now if you like?”
