Ch208 (p2), Were all of us being tricked?

There's not much to say here, as we see the last scene from ch207 -- Finny leaving and Doll holding Snake as he bleeds out.

I have to assume Snake means himself and all his snake friends when he says "us". Though he could also see Finny as being used, since they were both brought into the Phantomhive household and sent on this mission.

Of course, Doll and our earl are the ones who truly extended their hands to him. He doesn't know who else to blame, like Kelvin, Sebastian, or the others.

Then he starts to flashback to his days (years?) in a cage.

From what we know, he's from the East End and lived on the streets for the most part. Had no job, hung out with the other first tier members and eventually ended up at the workhouse. And yet you're telling me that next to being a musician and a firebreather, he is so well-read he can name quite the amount of authors and their works from the top of his head? Some of which have novels that are supposed to be a more advanced reading level? When did he even learn how to read?

Now I'm not satisfied with just Snake's backstory anymore. I need those of all the circus members. Starting with my gentle giant boy.
