Gwen Poole in Daredevil Season 2: Development Trail Post

The base premise of this in the name. Gwen Poole in the second season of Netflix's Daredevil. Recently that premise has been shifted drastically, so this is a timeline of everything I've gotten so far. At first I started off with the idea of Gwenpool, Quire, and Cecil from Earth-616, coming into Earth-199999 (MCU) and bug Matt Murdock during Season 2 of his show just for funsies. Because he didn't have enough awful things happening at that point.

First came this post, featuring Foggy meeting Gwen Poole, Quentin Quire, and Cecil on a rooftop, and a follow-up.

Before this, it's all been in a static status quo. Quire, Gwen, and Cecil from Earth-616, just doing this for the hell of it. Then, in this Brainstorm Session, I threw around the idea of shaking up the reasoning for Gwenpool being here. It also hinted that Officer Gray, the police officer from Gwen's run, would get a bigger part here. From there, it continues with a few jokes set in the original scenario.

idk if the gwenpool in spiderverse movies hype has died down or not, but i feel like cecil and hobie would be great friends. I don’t think Gwenpool’s supporting cast ever got last names, so I’m trying to think of headcanon last names for them.

In my mind, Terrible Eye Sarah’s last name is probably something really boring like Jones, but her middle name is probably something witchy or Latin sounding.

Cecil’s full name is probably Cecil J. Ray, Jr., with the J standing for John, James, or Joseph.

Not sure about Ronnie or Tony. I’ve always read Ronnie as Hispanic (is it racist to see the character who speaks in somewhat-broken English and think “Hispanic”?) and Tony, given his name, might have an Italian last name? idk.

Cecil Gwenpool headcanon time.

Cecil plays emo music while making any food and calls the food he makes "emo food" for that reason.

He has whatever is up with me physically [joint doctor said it could be hEDS and my friend with hEDS was like "you definitely have hEDS."] Gwen relocates his dislocations.

Cecil is the cook of the relationship and he packs her lunches. They call each other boyfriend and girlfriend because they think it's funny. They do romance couple things because fuck stuff just being for romance couples.

Cecil is also aroace and just assumes Gwen knew.

The guy is autistic. He has had meltdowns over music before.

He does not like sand. Or the ocean.

He is a bracelet and ring wearer.

The reason I think Cecil could sit on chairs but couldn't pick things up is because he can control how corporeal he is but doesn't realize. He expects to not be able to pick up the book, so he phases through the book. He expects to be able to go through walls, so he goes through walls. He expects to be able to sit on chairs, so he doesn't phase through chairs.

Cecil stays up forever and Gwen falls asleep immediately. Gwen is a hot cocoa girl and Cecil is a tea guy.

Im still trying to understand how people liked gwenpool x quentin, judge me if you want but wtf even was that ship, was i supposed to root for them, supposed to like Quentin more for, idk, getting with my girl during one of her worst runs? For this update, we’d like to announce that we have reworded our stance on “Characters from upcoming games”, as well as our spoiler window!

Before, it was that any character from a game that was “Unfinished” would have to wait until the game was finished for you to apply them, but upon further discussion with members, we concluded that this was a bit too much, so, now

You are allowed to apply characters from games that are in “Early Access” (As much as you could if a show’s season isn’t over!), so long as they have a characterization or plot that is set in stone and is unlikely to change! Basically, if the character has enough to work with, you’re good!

Though, if a character is mysterious with a backstory that is largely made up by headcanons or fan interpretation, we ask that you wait until there is much more to work with! (An example of this would be Kris and Ralsei from Deltarune, there’s quite a lot about them that we don’t know...)

And in the case of a character taking a shocking left turn, please look into updating them, or making them canon divergent! <:

And secondly, we would like to revise our stance on “Spoiler characters”, essentially, from now on, a month wait is enough for most characters that are considered spoilers (Minor to Moderate), after a month has passed since a game’s release or a spoiler episode, you should be good...

Unless they are considered a “Walking Spoiler”, a massive spoiler of a character that can change the flow of a story and who’s mere existence is a spoiler in itself. For that, you’ll likely be waiting 2 months or more, and the mod team will review if it’s ok for that character to be played, given how they may spoil something for people joining!

Over all, it’s much more of a case-by-case basis now, we may even shorten the wait time to apply characters from a new IP to two weeks! But, for now, we hope this results in many new and interesting characters joining us!

For other updates, we’re hoping to have posts up about some of the changes we’ve made to Elsternwick, including the Job System (Pretty simple!), an update to our wording on the ban list, and a few other fun surprises, and we hope you’ll look forward to reading about them!
