Let’s bring back staves as mobility aids.

I’d been a cane user (mainly for chronic leg pain) with a certain need for more support and with shoulder issues. Ideally I’ve dreamt of a powerchair, but while I can’t have that I’d been planning to get forearm crutches.

Then I began making a staff for cosplay, and found out that it is actually much better for me than a cane.

I am still planning to try forearm crutches, but it’s in less priority for me now.

The staff both gives me more support than the cane and puts much less pressure on my shoulders.

I wish I could use it outside of home too. Perhaps I will once it’s fully done, of course ideally I should not care about people’s reactions to me carrying a bigger stick than is conventional but, yeah.

Characteristics:

My staff’s base is a metal pipe, wrapped in some kind of plastic, from a drape runner. It’s 25 mm in diameter and 180 cm in height. A cane tip is pushed into the bottom. (Later it will be decorated: a foam clay dragon claw at the top holding a ball with an LED light, and painted)

I am 155 cm tall. I am most comfortable holding it on the height around the shoulder level. Sometimes I hold it with both hands. I am uncomfortable holding it at around waist level.

“Derision” with Marinette having panic attacks. I think it’s disgusting because other parts of the bible make it clear that knowing the root of the issue doesn’t really help at all.

Essentially, it looks like they’re going to use this for propping up Adrien for his “cutting off Chloe for good” moment while continuing to make fun of Marinette for what they literally call “trauma” in the bible.

And on the incredibly slim chance that they somehow stop humiliating Marinette after this (which it doesn’t look like judging from other summaries), then they’ll use the titular akuma (Dark Humor) and overall plot to essentially guilt us for ever laughing at Marinette’s misery (we never get but you get the point), as if everything they’d done to her up until now was intentionally framed the way it was for this moment.

Basically, no matter what happens, it’s not going to be good.

Forgot to mention it here, but the last time I went to the Vasa Museum, I got a good grade on the guided tour, which turns out is... well, maybe not normal to want, but definitely possible to achieve.

Left on the doorstep of a monastery as a baby, sold from Amn to Mulhorand as a young child and broken out by rebels at fourteen, very little of Saga's life has been within her control. So when she was finally free she chose the name Saga to signify that for the rest of her life, she will be the one writing the story - and it will be one worth telling. Now, Saga is on a mission to explore her personhood and this big, magical world that she's been kept at a distance from for so long.

As an exercise in control and as part of a journey to discover herself, she has begun taking up a handful of new hobbies, such as carpentry and embroidery. Her carpentry needs work, but she has developed an arcane technique to transmute raw materials into useable construction products. Next on her list: knot-tying (to help with her sister's next boat), alchemy (to impress her smart new friends), and garment sewing (because she loves soft and flowy fabrics but clothes never fit her the way she wants them to).

Since the beginning of the campaign: At the footnote of a quest, Saga picked up what she now knows to be a cursed staff and has since been having dreams of drowning. Slowly, the pieces have been coming together: the staff seems to be tied to the unhinged archdevil Fierna, who rules over the underwater layer of Hell devoted to torturing those who committed betrayals during their time alive. Saga is mildly terrified and wholly unsure of what Fierna wants with her, but does not seem to be having ill-effects yet other than the dreams.

Appearance

Saga is a massive goliath woman, standing at just shy of eight feet tall. Though most goliaths have fully stone-like skin, Saga's distant relation to earth elementals shines through differently: veins of pink crystal-like stone cut through her dark brown skin. Her hair is afro-textured and currently shaved on the sides with the beginnings of short locs on top. Since beginning her travels on the open seas with her sister, Razan, Saga has been collecting many piercings.

In terms of real-life ethnicities, she would be a mixture of Middle Eastern and African.

#just me hi #hate how hard it is to do things #blegh #anyway i'm here to talk about the magic system i came up with #no it will not be very 'original' so bare with me <3 #okay so the two main elements are Earth and Light #from earth the categories are: earth (ofc)/darkness/body/water #from light the categories are: light (yep)/heat/soul/sky #now in order to use these (which can be casted from a drawing or a hand or a staff because why the heck not) you need to first pick a colou #-r. so the colours are: red purple yellow orange and blue (screw green ig lol) #each colour has two sub-c elements attached to it and you will need to darken or lighten the colour to focus on the sub-c element you want #so to darken or lighten you need to pick a shape: triangle or circle #tri. will darken the colour so it's mostly used to focus on earth elements #cir. will lighten it so it will focus on light #no colours cannot be mixed (green keeps losing here) but you CAN use two colours at once but seperate #i haven't thought about what using both shapes might do but eh we'll get there #hold on i have a lil more but tumblr might cut my tags :/ #(currently in comments lol)

Small Town Public Schools and their "Zero Tolerance Bullying Polic(ies)"

So, I'm really excited to go to school next year, I am but, here's something I hate about my school. Biases about bullying.

Something about my school, we have about 300 people in our highschool (about 75 students in a grade).

In my school there are what I like to call Power (last) Names, No Power (last) Names, and Bad Rep(station) (last) Names

Power Names:

Your parent(s) or family member(s) are:

In local government

Work at the school

Have made a big impact on the community

and/ or Have made a big impact at the school

No Power Names:

You probably moved here recently or your family are neutral in impact to the community and school

Bad Rep Names:

You have a dysfunction family and people know it (messy divorce, lots of broken family ties, etc)

People in your family (immediately or extended) have been arrested multiple times

and/or

Your family members have gone to school here before and were not we'll behaved

So, that is about all the context you need.

My school has a so-called "Zero Tolerance Bullying Policy"

It is a lie because it is very biased.

How? You may be asking

If a Power Name bullies a Power Name the bully gets very small consequences (ie lunch detention or in school suspension (ISS))

if a No Power Name bullies a Power Name the bully gets medium consequences (ISS or an actual suspension)

If a Bad Rep Name bullies a Power Name, they get suspension (context no one ever gets expelled for bullying)

If a No Power Name gets bullied by any rank it's basically ISS all around except for sometimes suspension if it's a Bad Rep Name

If a Bad Rep Name bullies a Bad Rep Name, nothing happens except maybe a lunch detention

If a No Power Name bullies a Bad Rep Name, they'll just get sent to the office and/or be told off by a teacher

If A Power Name bullies a Bad Rep Name, nothing happens, that is the situation every single time, teachers don't even get on to them

I fall into Bad Rep Name (my dad was a sarcastic son of a bitch and school and extended family members have gotten into trouble frequently with the law or the school, also dysfunctional family) bullied by a Power Name category

I have been bullied for 5 or 6 years by the same guy and he's never gotten into any trouble ever because his dad is the elementary principal and high school boys' basketball coach, his aunt is the us history teacher and the high school cheer coach, and his family has a very positive impact on the community. He also plays varsity for basketball and football

Man has acted completely shit to me since 4th/5th grade. I have never initiated anything for him to be this way or started anything. He has just been an ass for me forever, and when I try to tell teachers that he is being an ass to me either during that class period or during passing period, nothing fucking happens

Unless, I start yelling at him or worse

Then teachers tell him off, and only tell him off, I however get sent to the guidance counselor's office most time or nothing happens

Which I don't really think is Zero Tolerance Bullying Policy

School's really shouldn't say Zero Tolerance Bullying Policy if there are biases

You should give the same punishments to everyone no matter their family's social status

You should treat the person being bullied with a little respect or sympathy and not shrug them off due to their family's social status

Just, had to say that because it's something that really bugs me about my school
