Me watching season 4 of scissor seven: but what if all the residents of chicken island pulled white fox into their shenanigans and by the end os the season they domesticated him because he also wants to live the good life?
I really feel like season 4 could have used more comedy and honestly the gimmick with the kidney stones ramp that up by 100 for the other residents.
Seven comes back after taking care of his past and business and is like wtf are you doing here? Only to find white fox totally engrained in the community.
Thats the kind of au I can get behind.

[ID: Two panels from Dungeon Meshi. The first scows Senshi clutching his face as tears start to spill out of his eyes, saying, "I've always... always wanted to have this soup one more time." He's not wearing his helmet in this panel, so his face is unusually visible, detailed and vulnerable. The second panel shows himself as a youngster, surrounded by his old mining team, all smiling at each other, one of them rubbing Senshi's head. Modern-day Senshi continues, "Thank you. All of you. Thank you." End ID.]
Holy shit. I anticipated some tragic backstory from the "I must feed the young ones" panels, but what I'd guessed was that Senshi might have become so devoted to cooking and eating literally whatever because he'd previously survived a famine and had seen children starve to death. I did not expect him to have been the child who was the sole survivor of a doomed travel party, one of whom was determined to feed Senshi first because he was the youngest, and that Senshi has lived with the fear of having inadvertently committed cannibalism by eating stew that he'd never quite known the contents of. I'm happy for him that Laios deduced and confirmed for him that it was griffin meat, that he was able to taste the meal that saved his life once more and remember the friends he lost. Seriously, I'm crying, and also earnestly relieved that while his backstory is pretty dark, it's not the type of fucked up I'd been preparing myself mentally for.
#Dungeon Meshi#Delicious in Dungeon#Dunmeshi#though it IS really worth exploring the ethics of cannibalism in survival situations#The podcast You're Wrong About has a really interesting pairing of episodes#in the Donner Party and Flight 571 Crash episodes#Both about disasters in which people wound up eating their dead to survive#and an interesting connection they drew was that it wasn't the cannibalism itself#that destroyed the lives of the Donner survivors#it was the horror and disgust and societal rejection they got for having eaten human flesh#even the children who had no idea what they were eating were treated with revulsion#and this is clearly the response Senshi feared facing if anybody knew what he'd eaten#But Flight 571 like a century later#the survivors were faced with a lot of understanding when rescued#relatively little condemnation and revulsion#by and large commentators acknowledged that they did what they had to do#and sympathized with how difficult and painful it must have been#which is what Senshi gets from his party#Laios wants to figure out the truth because he knows it's hurting Senshi not to know#But at one point Marcille straight up says that none of them would think less of Senshi if he did eat dwarf stew#Okay so this is Marcille 'ardent student of blood magic' Donato#but Chilchuck agrees#anyway I think that would be a particularly interesting conversation to have in a cooking manga#how do you safely eat a dead friend when that's all you have to survive on?#what are the nutritional benefits other than 'better than starving'?#what are the risks? There's prion diseases and all sorts you can get#they write it off as eating the dragon part but they DO spend seven days eating Falin at the end#ARE there any in/famous cannibalism cases in this world?#Do peopel argue about whether or not it's cannibalism if a dwarf eats a tallman?#enquiring minds (mine) want to know

I’m actually curious to see if, and honestly hope, in s2 (whenever that may come out. Studios pay your writers and actors) we get some sort of callback or allusion to the rumor that Jacaerys tried to convert Cregan from the old gods to the faith of the seven.
Not because I care about the gods, outside the religious symbolism they bring. I only want to see people’s reactions. Namely the ones who act as if Alicent is the first woman to ever openly practice the faith. Because I have a feeling those same people will paint Jace possibly doing that as endearing versus Alicent who gets painted as a monster for her connection to the faith. The most we see Alicent doing a redecorating her home. Mind you, not even every room because you can clearly see the tacky tapestries in Viserys’ room in ep 8. Plus we see her praying and wearing religious iconography. Things that are not out of the ordinary… at all. She’s honestly your textbook highborn noble woman during that time. She was born and raised in Oldtown ffs. What is she supposed to follow if not the faith💀
She gets seen as this horrible zealot out to destroy the Targaryens through the faith, and to me that is just indicative on how badly people misinterpret Alicent’s feelings/motivations.
People can have their problems with the writing in hotd. I know there are certain things I have problems with myself. But when can we start being honest about how a lot of the conversations that are regurgitated and argued about day after day have less to do with the writing, and more to do with bad faith viewing. People are watching to see what they want to see, not what is actually in front of them.
Anyone with an objective view of Alicent would be able to tell how much she clings to the faith for salvation and hope. She does it to feel close to her mother, and very kindly/cautiously tries to help Rhaenyra with that too. She then reaffirms her faith after 1. She (imo justifiably) loses her shit at Driftmark and feels guilty about it, and 2. Has to marry her children to each other. Something she expresses thinking is immoral in the past. We even see her cut her hair, more than likely as a means of punishment and repentance. She’s miserable and has very few lifelines to hold onto.
How that gets twisted into her being a bigot because she doesn’t want to see dragons having orgies on her walls is beyond me.
Also the idea she is trying to bring down House Targaryen is nuts, but also laughable. Because between her and her actual Targaryen husband, Alicent is the one affirming her childrens’ Targaryen heritage. She makes sure Aemond knows he will get a dragon one day. She makes sure Aegon gets Blackfyre and his namesake’s crown. It seems like Aemond, and more than likely her other kids, know Valyrian. Ironically, the most anti targ (and frankly valid) sentiments we get are from Viserys. He speaks on the doom, fears what is to come, and how they never should have messed with dragons.
Alicent ‘let the people remember the ancient strength of House Targaryen’ Hightower is not the Baelor y’all want her to be. And if she was, it would’ve worked in her favor more. People tend to leave out the part where the most beloved Targaryens (by their people) were partly that because of their connection to the faith. Ya know the thing Targaryens also practice.

Bennett is just so fucking well written, he's so good and kind and lovely and yet every single moment of anger he had was completely justified, i dont know how to explain it but he's a very satisfying character, similar to sybil, they really make you feel like you're in the story
in conclusion aabria writes npcs with so much heart and depth and it blows my mind every single time, i love her, thank you for coming to my tedtalk

Meliodas and Ban are such boyfriend in prisoners of the sky. Like the flirting and overprotective behaviour is just something else.
I'd argue they flirt harder this film than Meliodas and Elizabeth do
Protective Melban has such a special place in my heart, you don't even know. The Purgatory arc is another great example. I mean, just look at them!

I’m currently watching that Voyager episode “Juggernaut”, and the rage I’m filled with every time I hear someone mention how B’Elanna needs to “control her emotions” is so large of an amount, I could probably power a small city with it for upwards of a year! Like I don’t blame her in the slightest for breaking the Doctor’s holo-camera! I would too if he wouldn’t listen to me when I told him to stop snapping pictures and get out of the way! Engineering is a dangerous place, especially for a hologram wearing and using a Mobile Emitter! Like fuck man! Maybe stop purposely provoking her and she won’t get that snippy!

My problem with Knight of Seven! Suzaku:
In one sentence: Best outfit. Worst morals.
Everytime I look at Knight of Seven!Suzaku I get overtaken by rage. Complete. Frothing at the mouth rage.
Because. On one hand, the Knight of Rounds uniform is objectively, the most flattering outfit in the Code Geass universe. Everyone and their mom would look good in a Knight of Rounds uniform. It’s a fact of the universe. That outfit is perfection. And it looks the best when it’s worn by Suzaku. He could not have been hotter. None of his subsequent outfits (mostly slutty skintight flight suits that shows off his shoulders for no fucking reason) can match Suzaku in that uniform in terms of pure sex appeal.
Tumblr media
Look at it. Look at how good he looks.
Tumblr media
(Especially when he wears that massive cape? Wow he is fulfilling all of my visual requirements for a man and then some, and I usually don’t go for men.)
On the other hand though, Knight of Seven!Suzaku has the worst morals of all Suzakus. Absolute lowpoint. Complete dud. The most massive hypocrite I have ever witnessed in my life. “I am still a good person” bitch you tried to forcefully inject a prisoner of war with an illegal drug during an inpromtu and unauthorized interrogation. Just fucking casually conquering other nation-states on behalf of a racist colonizing imperial power. Wow. What a right thing to do.
Thus, my rage becomes clear. My heart categorically refuses to find any fictional character (or any real life person) who perpetuates colonialism endearing/likeable/understandable/deserves rights. But my brain is going “hot person is hot! Appreciate hot person!“ like an alarm bell without a snooze button. It’s terrible. I feel like I’m being pulled in two. I hate feeling this way. It means I react incomprehensibly whenever I see Knight of Seven. My hatred for him, which would’ve been at “Tohdoh finds out Suzaku is the pilot of the Lancelot (i.e. I respect your life choices even if I don’t agree with them at all), instead it gets turned up a hundred fold and I turn into Jeremiah screaming at Zero at the end of R1 whenever I see him.
Me @ my brain: can you please stop finding him aesthetically attractive. You know we don’t go for this specific type of war criminals.
My brain: but! he pretty!
Me: I fucking hate you

at the beginning of the trial for 4-2, the judge makes it pretty clear that he hasnt seen klavier in court since the trial of seven years ago, and he even says that he worried klavier might still be upset about it. but klavier doesnt actually confirm or deny any of this
Tumblr media
this dialogue drives me so insane. did he really stay away from all legal matters for seven years? did he prosecute cases and just happened to deal with other judges? did he work on cases that he didnt prosecute (like how edgeworth worked on sl-9 without being the prosecutor)??? he didnt even start prosecuting cases right after kristoph was arrested, there were about two months between 4-1 and 4-2, so it seems like he really did just start standing in court again to see if apollo was a good lawyer or not. im losing my mind i need to see klavier gavin again i need to know if he really did stop working as a prosecutor entirely for seven years and if he really did suspect that kristoph manipulated him all along
#gripping the sides of my laptop so tightly i crush it. so i've been thinking about aa4 recently#this is all questions but generally i think that um. theres no way he gave up being a prosecutor entirely#i mean klavier said that daryan was the very first detective he ever worked with. and the case seven years ago had gumshoe instead#so we know that before that case klavier had probably been working on other cases and just wasnt like the prosecutor in charge of em#so he very much could have been doing that#also. if he did stop standing in court. did he really believe that kristoph manipulated him??? like listen#yes in 4-4 he says that hes been wondering about the truth of that case for seven years#but. he could have been lying. bc earlier when apollo suggests that kristoph is the killer in 4-4#klavier says. and i quote. 'there's no way my bro could do a thing like that!'#and the judge is like yeah he was in jail he couldnt have done that. but the wording of that sounds much more like klavier believes that#his bro is not an evil person. (yes kristoph was already arrested for murder once at this point. but if klavier watched that trial then#i think theres a good chance he noticed that the bloody ace was suspicious as shit. i think he could have still believed kris to be innocen#............................................who knows maybe he believed kristoph not to be a murderer but a guy who gave him wrong info#why did i put this in the tags if i was gonna write a whole essay. whatever. i have to put klavier in my brain and microwave him every#so often. i know so many klavier lines its insane also i know that some of these lines probably were not meant to be thought about too much#but what are htey gonna do? put me in ace attorney jail??? let me see klavier and franziska and kay and sebastian? ok go ahead

Who wants a random scene from one of the fics I'm working on? Too bad, you're getting one anyway.
Set in S01E22, "It's About Time." Question: How does Doctor Barbara Lake forget about Mr. Blinky and his clear medical distress? Answer: Insert one punk wizard distraction. Minor injury warning for a cut arm, and mention of getting stitches, but I don't think anything's too graphic, especially not in this tiny snippet of the thing.
--------
“You know you don't have to be all macho about this,” she said calmly. “If it hurts, tell me. I can't help if I don't know something's wrong.”
“That's not what it is,” Douxie told her. “Trust me. It really isn't that bad.”
She made a noncommittal noise, carefully pulling back the cloth. “Well, looks like the bleeding's stopped, at any rate. Let's get this cleaned and wrapped.”
Douxie stood so he could hold his arm under the running water, and quirked an eyebrow at her. “Still need those stitches?”
Dr. Lake wet another of the cloths and started wiping at his arm, movements steady and gentle as she gave it a more thorough inspection. “Looks like, yeah.” She returned the raised eyebrow. “And I notice you've got a suture kit in this box. You were going to do them yourself, weren't you?”
Douxie bobbed his shoulder in a helpless half-shrug. “Like I said: wouldn't be the first time.” Then he waved his left hand. “And it's not my dominant hand, so messy stitches aren't a worry.”
She pursed her lips at him, but then returned her focus to cleaning his arm. “Don't see any debris. Sit down and hold this while I get ready to stitch you up.” Douxie opened his mouth to protest, but Dr. Lake just looked at him, something in her eyes piercing straight through the centuries to make him feel like an actual teenager again. “Doctor's orders, young man,” she told him, face resolute.
He froze, totally at a loss for a second, then let out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head with amusement. “Alright, alright,” he said, lifting his free hand in a gesture of surrender before dropping back to his seat and holding the cloth in place. He gave her a crooked grin. “Suppose I'll owe you lunch when you come back to take them out?”
“Now you're getting it,” she said wryly, a playful sparkle in her eyes.
