[✨😠I HATE TEEN TITANS GO!🚫✨]
Tumblr media
NOTE: this is old art from February 25 2022
Yes, the same day when I started to hate TTG for good and left the Teen Titans fandom.

So was anybody going to tell me that DCSHG19 had FINALLY a full on movie, that built on all the previous arcs and lore, or was I just supposed to get desperate and watch the TTG crossover myself.

Happy 20th anniversary teen titans!
Tumblr media
I missed it because I was celebrating ANOTHER nostalgic action show: Danny Phantom! I bought the new comic book (it's called A Glitch In Time and it is SO GOOD). I want to take the time to share my thoughts on the Show.
When I say Teen Titans was my childhood I mean it. Sure I have a LOT of salt towards TTG, but i do have to give it credit the show can be funny and it's clear to be it's own thing (when it's not making unnecessary digs at the OG fans). Every Saturday morning I would wake up just to watch Titans on Kids WB.
I remember watching TT first on CN but my parents cancelled our cable. Lucky it also aired on The WB so I didn't miss much. My favorite will always be Raven, Cyborg and Starfire, I just really loved them and their characters. Funny enough I didn't exactly care for BB and Robin, until later in the show.
My favorite arc will always be Terra. They handled her character much better in the show because she feels like an actual teenager instead of Evil Incarnate™. Oh and Red X too! I really live how thry didn't reveal his identity in the show (I'm holding on to the common theory that he might be Jason Todd). And HIVE! I feel like Hive is so underrated i know everyone talks about Jinx but the other students deserve love too! Brother Blood was cool (actually a lot of TT villains were lit even Mad Mod).
Funny enough I wasn't all that scared of Slade (I was scared of Father from KND). He was so cool on the show and one of my favorite villains. And much more bearable. I do wish the show touched on his backstory considering Jericho was also in it.
But my favorite part about TT is that it is a TEEN TITANS show. So they got focus. No shoving in the adult heroes ESPECIALLY a certain bat. The Titans were allowed to grow and explore by themselves, and I think that's a great message for kids and young adults. You CAN solve problems without always needing an adult. You CAN have a DC show without shoehorning Batman. Literally all the characters were likable, have a wonderful dynamic and there's a favorite titan for everyone. And I liked how other characters outside the main team also got a bit of attention.
To this day this show will always hold a special place in my heart. Even with its flaws I appreciate the show for what it can do for action animation and media geared for kids and teens as whole. Here's to twenty more years of TEEN TITANS.

You remember a few days ago you responded to that post about Donnie being a separate entity from Galois.
Well, you know about OK K.O? that cartoon created by Rebecca Sugar's husband that was unfairly cancelled because CN executives neglect almost everything but TTG? Well (SPOILERS) One of the most important plot points of the series is that the protagonist develops an alternate personality which embodies all the characteristics he doesn't like about himself, but which at the same time is, like, way more powerful than he is. Anyway, at one point the alternate personality takes over and the protagonist becomes a prisoner in his own body, TL:DR at the end the two personalities make peace and merge in a nice metaphor of self-acceptance.
I swear as I was reading I was imagining Galois and Donnie in a similar situation, K.O and T.K.O are the same person, as are Donnie and Galois, except the last ones have different memories. I don't think Donnie would hate Galois, at least not genuinely, but he couldn't help but have negative feelings towards him either, Donnie knows it's not Gale's fault, but the frustration combined with the helplessness, as this version of himself take control of his life and swallow all those lies... I wouldn't put it past Donnie to get to a point where he might hurt Galois just to get to Draxum.
(As I was writing this I realized that the person who helps create the alternate personality of the protagonist in Ok ko is also his father, who also happens to be a scientist specializing in biology, WHO ALSO happens to be Gay, well, bisexual).
Cartoon must have a deal with DC or something to constantly shove TTG down everyone's throat because I have never met anyone who actually thought it was a good show. Even kids in its target age range are at most 'meh' about it. It's just bizarre otherwise.
And you know, I find it real ballsy of them to try and recapture the success and acclaim of the original Teen Titans when they fucking cancelled the first series over a toy deal. It would be like Nick trying to put out a shitty chibi version of Rise in 2030 and whining because no one wanted to watch it. Let people make good shows, coward.
Ah, I haven't actually seen it, but that description does remind me of another character. But mine's kind of like
Tumblr media
...Yeah. This is Dog or God, depending on which personality is in charge. He's not a zombie, he's a super mutant (a nightkin, but explaining the difference would involve explaining the plot of Fallout 1) and he's not supposed to look like that.
Dog is the slave of this asshole named Elijah, small-minded and suffers from violent outbursts and ravenous hunger. God is his voice of reason and restraint. Which doesn't mean he's on your side-if anything, God is much more difficult to work with because he actively antagonizes you. He sees Dog as a little brother he needs to protect, while Dog thinks of God as an intrusive voice in his head. All those scars are from Dog mutilating himself, even going so far as to shove his arm into a bear trap to keep the voice at bay.
It's never stated which identity was the original. Elijah thinks Dog is a second gen super mutant, who are intentionally made stupid (for lack of a better word) during the mutation process to make them more obedient soldiers, but God proves himself to be first generation, who generally have human intelligence. Yet nightkin are almost universally mentally disturbed as a result of their mutation and stealth radiation exposure, and super mutants are often shown to have voracious appetites and eat humans. His big finale takes place with Dog trying to kill himself and God frantically trying to save him, and you can either kill him, bury one of the consciousnesses, or reunite them and let him figure out for himself who he is.
...Looking at all that, it looks more like Tigerclaw if Tigerclaw had a split personality disorder.
But in general, Galois is not a split personality nor a separate consciousness from Donnie. He's just Donnie. He remembers things different and yes that's changed him a little, but Leo and all the other characters aren't the same people they were at the beginning either. It would be a lot easier if Galois was just some other guy living inside his head, but nope. It's all been Donnie.

Maybe it's my own weird thing but I can't help but speculate on the things I like that lily would hate. One for me lately is The 2012 TMNT series because-
One, the story is serialized and continues over the course of five seasons.
Two, the series can get rather melodramatic often but doesn't shy away from comedy usually in the form of anime style visuals (A bunch of people from the OG teen titans worked on it)
Three, season two's ending and season three's start follow a similar pattern to Korra's third and fourth as one of the main characters gets mental and physical trauma in the finale and has to recover after a time skip. Oh but wait-that character is a male so it can't be torture porn in any way.
Fourth, the series has male protagonists and features no lesbians.
Fifth, the series was then followed up by a comedic version (Rise of the TMNT) which at the start many compared to TTG. Given Lily's tastes she would probably say that Rise is better (Even if she hasn't watched it)
So yeah, I don't think Lily would take kindly to this DARK and VER SERIOUS take on the turtle.
rise was cancelled so, if anything, LO would say that the series was not comedic enough or somehow it was the blame of the crew.

The Vicious Cycle of the Animation Industry
Look, I’m not too confident in myself to cover all the crap going down with HBOMax or the WB Discovery debacle outside of regurgitating what people better versed in the industry than me have covered. A glance at Twitter will speak volumes alone.
What I do intend to discuss is the common theme of animation always getting the shaft either because it’s too costly compared to whatever live action show they pump out (because VFX may as well be paid in pennies by this point) or because they’re deemed acceptable losses by the wider public.
Much as animation over all has garnered a sizable and vocal following, too many executives are high up to care about how a series is very beloved or hated. What they care is how much its raking it for them and what they should be pushing above all else.
Thus Teen Titans Go can be the most loathe show by animation and DC geeks alike but still chug along if the right amount of kids throw money at it (with their parent’s permission). Whereas a show that has thought put into its story, characters and artstyle will be meddled with to fit the mold of TTG or be cast aside if it doesn’t do gangbusters.
Of course, biased marketing departments don’t help. There’s no telling how well a more ambitious cartoon might’ve done if it had been given half the attention other shows settling for the cheap laughs had. Commercials, billboard, even friggin, YouTube ads (for all their infuriating nature) can make or break a show’s success. Yet some seem to get by in spite of the network being ambivalent towards the title.
You can’t even claim that the internet is hard to work with when Social Media managers exist for a reason. If every cartoon got its fair shake at potential success but failed due to a considerable lack of interest on the audience’s part, maybe a cancellation wouldn’t feel as gutting. It’d still hurt but in a, “Dem’s the brakes, kiddo,” sort of way.
As is, The Legend of Korra practically had Nick’s marketing in a tizzy compared to Spongebob when they could’ve tried... something. Where was all that energy they put into greenlighting three seasons at once before Book 2? Why move it to their website and not a service like Netflix where serialized stories (at the time) were thriving?
Of course, it’s hard to deny how the perception of animation from adults overall are very likely shared with the producers who oversee these cartoons. Despite the medium being profitable to not let go of full stop, too much animation with no so insignificant follows get the axe likely because the mainstream perception of animation being a lesser media seeps into the inmates running the asylum.
1.Many adults see cartoons and animation overall as for kids.
2. The public overall internalizes this idea of it being a lesser medium despite some productions crunching their staff big time.
3. Those of the public go on to work for companies like WB and/or Disney where they may help oversee animation production.
4. The aforementioned attitudes lead to animation being seen as expendable in lew of any money problems (often of their own doings).
I mean... you know it’s bad when Disney granted The Owl House something when it came to shortening Season 3 when it could’ve just had King’s Tide be the end of it. Not to give too much credit but I’d take a shorter season for a show getting the boot to end. At the very least they can have the creators and their team make their cases why they shouldn’t just be written off.
So... what now? It’s easy to say “support indie creators” when forgetting how there can be a lot of uncertainty in a lot of unknown media. It’s not just corporations feeding into the “nothing’s original” phenomenon suffice to say. What I can say is that a “NewDeal4Animation” trends for a reason.
Those working in this industry need to unionize and make it clear as goddamn crystal that they are not okay with how things are as of now. If they’re employed to work on a project for a company, they need to be valued and not be neglected or abused. And we fans can help by stepping up whether or not this might be trending.
This is a worker’s rights issue by any other name and needs solving ASA-Now!

Four years since the Gumball series finale
Oh, my gosh, it's been like, what, FOUR years since the series finale of The Amazing World of Gumball?
Since TAWOG has finally ended, I sort of realized my true opinion about how I hate the show.
I hate Gumball, I hate Darwin, I hate Anais, I hate Nicole, I hate Richard, I hate pretty much all of the characters from TAWOG, and I think the crazy facial expressions in the show have a lousy way of showing themselves.
As in, I definitely do hate The Amazing World of Gumball with a burning passion for… You know… A lot of good reasons.
Look, it’s a lot to explain and I’m REALLY tired of going into detail.
All I want to say is that the rest of the characters, including Gumball, Darwin, and Anais, aren’t all that. Nicole Watterson is a huge hypocrite. And Richard Watterson is a bullshit father.
I'm happy that the series has finally ended, and yet Teen Titans Go is still running shit out its ass…
I wish that TTG would be fully canceled already. Better yet, Cartoon Network should stop relying heavily on both TAWOG and TTG and start thinking about what makes itself great television, and cancel this stupid show known as Teen Titans Go.
I'm a DIE-HARD Cartoon Hangover fan now, though I really love both Bravest Warriors and Super Fuckers, and let me tell, the only thing about the Super Fuckers animated web series that makes me sad is that the episodes were only 4 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile, the episodes from Bravest Warriors go for 11 to 12 minutes… I would rather have 11 to 12 minutes of Super Fuckers! Who wouldn't want that?!
By the way, I apologize because I know some of you really want more crossover fanfics from me, and I have a real one in the works.
I've been spending time on DeviantArt and Quotev.
But I really want to do a real crossover story revolving around the characters from both Bravest Warriors and Super Fuckers, especially Beth Tezuka and Jack Krak, and I never wanted to give it up. To be honest, I was just experiencing some writer's block. But I know EXACTLY what to do next for it. I just need time because this isn't the only story I'm going to be working on.
I'm still here for you. :)

What's been going on with CN aside from the endless TTG reruns? Haven't seen any in the last year since no cable.
Lol, I don't have cable either.
Since June is the time of year where networks and companies preview a bunch of their upcoming projects and offerings, two executives from Warner Brothers had a presentation where they discussed the direction the network wants to take going forward. They mentioned things like reevaluating the Cartoonito block, their current selection of preschool-aged programming, due to a lack of viewership --
Doesn't help that you air the block during times when your intended audience isn't able to watch, but sure
-- But the major thing that everyone keyed in on is how they said: "Girls often graduate out of animation. Some of our most incredible competitors have been at the live-action game for a long time. We know that’s what girls want."
Which is not only particularly brain-dead because it isn't like the last time Cartoon Network prioritized live-action content over actual cartoons it almost killed the network except for how the last Cartoon Network prioritized live-action content over actual cartoons it literally almost killed the network. But because of the fact that there are shows that Cartoon Network put out that have had active, strong female audiences.
Teen Titans -- Fucking canceled
Young Justice -- Fucking canceled and then resurrected via streaming
Infinity Train -- Fucking canceled
Steven Universe -- We all know what happened here; we don't need to relive this
Adventure Time -- Actually got to end naturally... But all of the sequel specials went straight to HBO Max.
And those are just a few examples off the top of my head; there are tons more.
It's also particularly tone-deaf because the two executives who were talking were women. So, it's like, not only did you blindly throw your female audiences under the bus but you also decided to jam in all of the women working in animation. Because women don't like animation, right?
Who the fuck are Lisa Hanawalt, Lauren Faust, Domee Shi, Dana Terrace, and hundreds of others, am I right? Not to mention all of the women working in animation overseas, right?

Sampe day 2 pun cancel, beuhhh kecewa sih pasti fansnya. Ada aja yaa dramanya ttg perkonseran tuhhh. Mana di day 1 jg sempet ricuh, padahal ya tertib aja sih yaa wlpn kecewa.. Drpd membahayakan diri sendiri.
Strategis bgt! Nah wkt Java Rockin Land pun di Pantai Carnival, Ancol.. Mayan jauh yah di Jakut kek Jiexpo. Suasananya udah pantai aja, pasir cuy.. Dah kek summer music fest getoo kan yaa kurangnya kaga pake bikini aja hahaha chandyaaaa~. Wkt Cranberries manggung dan penonton mulai antusias plus rusuh, tanahnya bergetar agak panik jg ya tp ttp terbawa vibe nyanyik sabodo amat. Hih padahal takut kiamat (oke berlebihan). Ngeri sih mikir jg apa dibawah ini tanahnya kopong ngga, gmn kalo runtuh.. Nah itu di outdoor cuy bergetar, ngga kebayang di indoor dan lantai 2.. Dah weh ga bgt! Nah kayanya kalo ICE BSD mah spesialis Kpop gaksii, belom pernah huhu. Dulu thn 2016 berencana nonton Bigbang sama adik ngga jadeeee hahaha naha sih yaa, pdhl uang ada, msh belom nikah, wkt jg ada. Dan skrg Bigbang nya dah kemanaaaaa huft. Nyesel weeeehhh

Master Post! AKA, Welcome to the Show.
This is an AU take on Pibby/Learning with Pibby: Apocalypse premise featuring as many shows as I can cram into this, since I’m not restricted by licensing or money, only time, energy, and creativity!
This post will be updated as I sort things out and as the story goes on.
Summary:
In this AU, the Corruption/Darkness is an eldritch force within the Networkverse that grew as discontent grew—shows being canceled before they could finish their stories or being cut short and forced to finish with what they have, corporate greed getting the better of the network heads, you name it and it’s probably helped fuel the Corruption’s growth.
Thankfully, it was kept locked away within the space between networks, and no one was any wiser…until TTG!Robin unleashed it to try and create a special akin to OK KO’s Crossover Nexus for a ratings stunt. It backfired, horribly, and he was the first to be taken. And now everyone, whether Netflix or Disney, Cartoon Network or Amazon, everyone is in danger of being taken.

This may be wrong, I sincerely hope I'm wrong but i saw a review of the TTG-DC Superhero Girls crossover say that DC Superhero Girls is cancelled? No more episodes after this season! Ugh so not cool!
Yes, initially I was one of the naysayers, and didn't like the animation but then I actually watched it. I mean high school au is cliche but there's a reason it's popular. Plus it offered new ways to see the characters like Katana and Wonder Woman as training buddies, awesome. Oliver Queen as a literal drama queen, hilarious.
And it is genuinely funny like when the girls had to fight off a kraen and the only advice Wondy's aunt had to stop it was "We need to sacrifice a beautiful maiden. Here, you all shall draw straws." Plus there was just the fun combinations of when superheroes have a conflict between driving test and stopping a robbery. Or transforming into a new alternate alternate superhero to get good publicity.
Plus it has started some very intriguing long standing developments like Supergirl's relationship with Superman, Batgirl and Harley Quinn's civilian friendship is at odds with their extracurricular activities, and-
Zee Zatara's light and dark magic. This is the most interesting one especially how her mom is apparently infused with dark magic and abandoned the family and now Zee has her own worries about her dark side taking over. If they don't resolve this because they got freaking cancelled, I'm going to be very annoyed.
So someone, please tell me I'm wrong.

*holds Ryan Potter's Beast Boy in both hands* I just think he's neat.
Also, Gar taking over The Red to turn it into The Green while The Script's Superhero played was brilliant. Seeing the TTG Waffles reference was also brilliant.

[✨🧡🐢MIKEY AND DONNIE - RISE OF THE TMNT🐢💜✨]
(Also please read story down below)
Tumblr media
NOTE: This is old art from March 1st 2022
⚠️NOTE 2: THIS IS NOT T-CEST (ykr)!!!⚠️
I want to tell you just what happened before I drew this:
Well long story. I used to be part of the Teen Titans fandom in the past (I both discovered TT and TTG in maybe April 2016 idk), when I first watched this show along with new episodes of the infamous Teen Titans GO!, these 2 shows were always in my mind back in summer last year. And yes I used to LOVE TTG back in my childhood, until my current adolecence. But my brothers were (and still are) too hypocritical as they don't shut up about TTG (they do not let me watch it anymore and are pretty much heavily obsessed with it), so thanks to it's bad morals and toilet/gross humor, I began to hate it back this February and I also consider it one of my WORST shows of all time (yes, even worse than PAW Patrol), and I deliberately left the Teen Titans fandom because of the toxic nature out of TTG.
Several days before I wanted to hate TTG, I was deciding which another better boy show fandom I should join (except for Ben 10, which I'm already in even before that), hmmm I ran out of ideas. I googled several questions like "TTG sucks", "cancel TTG", "I hate TTG", etc. and while scrolling for answers then I remembered that one cartoon I praise for better execution than TTG: Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Seriously, this is Nickelodeon's better version of TTG, it dosen't have bad morals and the nasty toilet humor. So I have decided to watch THIS rather than TTG.
After the episodes replayed on TV (in my area), I ran to my desk to start doodling tons of Turtles in my notebooks/tablet, especially my favourite Turtle, Donatello. My favourite was Repo Mantis because this may be the first episode for me to watch (sure it was out of order but whatever XD).
I also remember the older TMNT shows (1987/2003/2012), along with some movies and games I have watched/played. So I decided to join the whole TMNT fandom and not just Rise.
I have perfectly chosen a replacement cartoon fandom.
(NOTE: I did drew a Teen Titans fanart before I left, though I post it here later, ok?)
Anyway, past all that story, these 2 are super funny and relatable! 🐢💜✨🧡😻😘

Saw Lily’s calarts video. I think this is the most double standard and total disregard for animation history I’ve seen. There’s a lot of points I want to make but here are my biggest ones
1. Lily saying CalArts creators are weebs is funny to me. How does Lily think anime got its look from? Like I wonder if anyone should tell her anime got its look from Disney. And the US and Japan have been swapping styles and ideas from each other for decades
2. Calling Rebecca Sugar Weeb Tommy Wiseau is weird and kind of funny. Cause at least Wiseau and Sugar actually created entertaining properties… Lily so far hasn’t.
3. Thundercats 2011 and Roar both got screwed by the networks because of bad time slots and ratings along with poor sales. “But nobody wanted thundercats 2011 and the network didn’t screw them over. It did screw over roar.”
4. While minor but again her saying Teen Titans Go is more popular than the original isn’t because Go is better. CN kept showing it and showing it during the earlier seasons. Cast a big enough net you’re gonna catch something. But a lot of people made fun of the fact that a majority of CN’s programming was just TTG. Just because they show a lot of it doesn’t mean it’s automatically good
the last bit you bring out is especially concerning to me because multiple creators who were employed by CN has spoken out for years about how the saturations of TTG negatively affected their own shows, many to the point of rushed cancellation before it's time. this is absolutely no secret at all and has been talked about by many other cartoon reviewer channels, that is how i first find out about it. this is another example of how badly it affects LO to be completely detached from the rest of the community, because she clearly doesn't keep up with the industry, doesn't care to do her own research and doesn't care about the people behind those shows unless she can punc them down personally for percieved faults.
for LO to go out of her way to support this choice as a good one because TTG is more popular is blatantly corporatism apologia that erases any wrondoing from CN part and paints those failed creators as sore losers. it's a slap on the face of anyone who cares about animation as anything beyond a business transaction. it's the kind of opinion that i'd expect from a reactionary channel who decries "forced diversity" everytime a character that isn't white appears.
