But I couldn't name these without talking about Once an Asshole, which hasn't been updated in a minute, but hasn't been abandoned, either! I am so in love with that story, truly, but I want the ending to be just as strong, and because it's just not there yet, it remains as an honorable mention!

The first time Sonic went Super in Road Trip wasn't exactly as stunning to Tails as other au's and stories.

Tails is like maybe 5 here (I'm not actually that organized on the timeline for this au yet, I'm getting there though, things are getting in order.) and he wasn't forced to grow up and be a hero in this au. So he's a bit more childish than canon Tails because he doesn't feel as pressured to mature and grow up fast. Plus, he genuinely thinks Sonic is going to die and this is the last time he see's him, so tears are bound to come down.

This isn't Sonic putting himself first- #-but him trying to comfort Tails because even if it's cheesy- Tails will only feel okay if Sonic is okay. #Apparently it calms children down if they listen to their parents heartbeat (melts my heart when I remember that) so Sonic put- #-Tails close to him not only so he could hear that Sonic is alive- but also to try calming him down a little more. #Small thing I started incorporating way too late- Sonic will call Tails Big Guy if the kit is smaller than him and- #-Little Guy if the kit is larger than him. #Sonic changed his pattern color to be blue like Tails' eyes after he points out that they are both yellow (it's not colored here- #- but you probably remember that Super Sonic has golden fur.) #Sonic is constantly rubbing a thumb on Tails' hand as a comforting gesture. #That's my ramble- I know it's just pretty bare bone stuff that anyone reading might get but I freaking love explaining stuff (I gotta stop)

When she let's down her hair, there's a deeeefinite magnetism that attracts Magnifico to give kisses on her freckles. Another note that I havent seen many people mention, is a little detail I've noticed regarding volo and how he has this....weird tendency to break the typical rules of the game.

Leading up to his 2nd battle when the other trainers like Irida give you the option to battle, they also give the option to turn down their battle (either because you're not prepared, need to switch up your team, etc). And while this may give additional dialogue of them being grumpy/disappointed, it allows the player the opportunity to prepare.

When volo challenges you and these choices pop up, volo doesnt give you the choice. I inadvertently chose to turn down his battle so I can switch up my team, but volo just. Forces you in a battle anyway. Which completely caught me off guard because it begs the question as to why was that choice placed in the first place, only for volo to immediately break the script?

While this isnt an issue in of itself since pokemon games have always had forced battles onto the player without preparation, combined with the foreshadowing of volo's actions later in the game.....and how volo also breaks the convention of having 6 pokemon. It makes you kinda wonder.

....not to mention the extremely odd moment when after his final battle he looks at the camera at you. Not your character.

raf - sneezes more often than not in multiples and fits. almost softly? not necessarily quietly, but the actual sounds in his sneeze are soft if that makes any sense?? i’m bad at explaining buuut spellings:

torin - harsher sneezes, only one or two at a time, and not as often (although their nose def got more sensitive after their septum piercing!). it’d probably take something extreme to trigger them to sneeze naturally more than twice in a row (i.e. not including manual inducing). i also think they’ve ‘practiced’ over the years to tailor their sneezes to sound more masc in their opinion, and it comes pretty natural now. spellings:

I will be super honest, the scarf is very basic because it was the first thing I've knitted, and it only has multiple colors because I got overzealous about how wide I wanted it and ran out of my first color. (I forget who commented I probably wanted a second skein but they were correct.) So it's about 200 yards of bulky yarn with 26 stitches to a row in a basic knit stitch, with about 8-inch blocks of the same thing in a different color on either end.

I genuinely have no idea how many rows any of the sections have, but if you started in one color, switched to the second after you've got about 8 inches of scarf, then knit the second color off of a 200-ish yard skein until you run out and then go back to the first color for another 8 inches, you'd get a good approximation of it!

EY's reaction to finding out HJ used to steal as well when he was younger is so interesting.

How excited he was abt it:

From EY's pov, this straight A student he thought was perfect and never did a single wrong thing in his life, just confessed to having a criminal background. EY used to look down on HJ for his self-righteous and goody-two-shoes behavior. In his eyes, 'good' people like that don't last long bc they're 'sensitive' abt (in his eyes) insignificant stuff, and they often criticize and judge people like him too quickly. That's why he was so curious abt HJ and tried to figure him out, and why he pissed him off so easily. To him, it's a mystery how people like that still exist and manage survive.

One of EY's sources of frustration towards HJ was how EY thought, HJ thought, he (HJ) was better than him (EY) <- which was partially true, HJ did think "I'm miserable, but at least not as miserable as him". But HJ admitting he used to steal showed EY that HJ was not that much better than him. That he's not as stuck-up and 'holier-than-thou' than he previously thought. He had character.

After finding this out, EY gained a lot more respect for HJ. Especially after hearing his story abt how he managed to quit. HJ became a person EY could truly look up to that day.
