Hi! :D I hope you're doing great. So I am wondering something. (I searched your accaunt for this a bit but couldn't find an answer to this, I'm sorry if you had already answered a similar question)

The Sun Eats The Moon is a no curses AU, and I just want to know how you think that affects Gojo. Like, what is different? Just his ways? I know he still has a power status not quite matched but, it can't be the same, right? And his powers kind of make him, would you agree? I just find no curses AU's so interesting because of this :)

ohhhhh that's such a great question actually???? lemme preface this by saying i do NOT write gojo like his canon counterpart. The canon version of him is a complicated mix of sweet, lonely guy who wants to have friends but he lives with beings who will never understand him so he has a hard time equating value to them even though he knows on paper killing humans is bad. I mostly lean into Gojo's cruel malicious side whenever I write him.

Considering how powerful he is, despite his lighthearted personality, Gojo holds a lot of responsibility. He's the strongest, right? Because of the immense responsibility he holds, he'd hold himself (by that i mean personality-wise) back a lot. We've seen that Gojo can be pretty cruel and horrible to those he allows himself to kill (aka the curses). in the Shibuya arc, he's not killing them off, he's straight up toying with the disaster curses. It's in his nature to be malicious, but he holds himself back a lot because of how strong he is. He's also shown to be really lonely in this version (with his whole dream of creating stronger sorcerers so he can not be lonely), so acting in whatever way he desires (aka killing off the higher ups) might scare off his allies. Two things that keep him in line, mostly.

It's why I think in the non-curses au, Gojo would feel more 'freer' in a sense. In SEM he's still pretty powerful, but that's largely due to his wealth and familial affluence. He doesn't have the weight of a secret jujutsu sorcery world on his shoulders. With the lack of responsibility, I personally feel Gojo would act out on his desires a lot more. Why hold back? He isn't answering to anyone, right? Also, in this version, he's a lot less lonelier. He doesn't have this fear that if he pushes too hard people might leave him. It also has to do largely with Geto but I don't wanna spoil too much considering what I have planned. But maybe yall have already connected the dots on that one lmao:)

In SEM, thematically Gojo's character moves in a very different way compared to his regular counterpart. After Riko, Gojo realizes that the weak need to be protected. In this version of him, Gojo never has that realization. That coupled with the lack of responsibility would cause Gojo to be a lot more malicious, I believe.

So bascially, SEM! Gojo has a god complex. And regular Gojo also has a God complex but it's more complicated than that.

before meeting taylor/tyler f narrator would mostly conform to standards for women both internally and externally. she would shave, keep her hair long, dress feminine but i dont think she would invest a lot of time in things like makeup (excluding foundation and such for fight club bruises) or diets. she would be self conscious about her appearance a lot, and would have beauty products but i dont see her consistently using them.

in my mind she collects kitchenware because 1. she expects to get married and take on the caretaking mother/wife role and 2. its less expensive than furniture (insurance call center salary). she could collect makeup. i see her as being pretty insecure that she isn’t married by 30 but doesn’t really want a boyfriend/husband.

as she spends more time with taylor she would adopt taylors masculine characteristics both because of taylor’s ideology and because narrator wants to be taylor.

despite marlon never having sex with taylor, narrator would harbor more resentment for him than regular narrator does for marla.

she would also hate her boss so much more. her boss would see her as daughter-substitute as well as a woman (inherent object to dominate) which would lead to him treating narrator with affection (from his pov) condescension and creepy undertones.

she would hate angel face less, though. still mutilates her but it’s the thought that counts.

taylor/tyler is the one who designwise changed the least. to me shes just tyler with slightly longer hair.

i might change her name bc taylor is too feminine a name for her

she would be very masculine, yes because of her whole liberate women thing but also because this is what narrator thinks is hot. i.e wearing mens clothes (obviously) being built like a brick wall, masculine mannerisms overall

this is also because she fills the same traditionally paternal roles as tyler: 1. the parent (not as nurture but teach/guide. taylor is mother and father substitute but leans more towards father substitute) 2. ideal self (not explicitly masculine but this is who narrator idealizes) 3. God.

i think project mayhem would be more explicitly homoerotic in this au because advocating for independence from men/you can get away with no-homoing relationships a lot more if its between women/??????????

Madness Combat Wings of Fire AU

This is just saying what tribes I’d think they’d be- nothing too complex yet.

Hank- (Unknown) Nobody really knows what they are anymore, being covered in bandages and scars and black cloth. Pretty big, probably due to their age. Whatever they are, they’re still the deadliest dragon in Nevada.

Sanford- (Mudwing) A very large dark brown Mudwing hatched from a blood-red egg. His specialty is still explosives (Dragonflame cactus) and melee combat, with a little bit of knowledge on healing. He used to be the bigwings of his group, but due to unfortunate events, he’s no longer with them. However, some of his bigwing instincts can be seen when he’s with his teammates.

Deimos- (Skywing) A smallish rusty orange colored skywing. Slender but still muscular. Prefers to blast enemies with fire from a distance. He always looks a little dirty, but that’s just his scale color. Mostly.

Doc- (Icewing) A grey icewing that used to be a member of the AAHW. The scars on his cheeks are a constant reminder of his Dissension. Absolutely not a doctor, but still acts like the medic of the group. Wears a large jacket to keep his cold inside.

Jeb- (Nightwing) A purplish-black nightwing with a sleek body, formerly a head scientist for project nexus, now the self-proclaimed savior of Nevada. He’s got seer powers, though not too strong. Thanks to the animus-touched keystone fragment, he’s got all the powers of his regular grunt self.

Tricky/Hofnarr- (Seawing) The short, dark green, timid eccentric genius animus dragon who is a head scientist of project nexus- or at least, what’s left of him. Not only has he been zombified, but he’s (seemingly) been driven mad by his own powers. He roams around Nevada, without a care in the world, doing whatever he wants, with nobody to stop him.

Sheriff- (Sandwing) A cowardly pale sandwing with a black diamond pattern going down his scales. Despite his cowardly nature, he does a good job being the leader of MERC and all the dragons in it. He’s not afraid to nick you with his stinger, though.

Crackpot- (Rainwing) Although constantly shifting colors, his default colors are usually green and dark yellow/orange. He tends to have a lot of emotions at the same time very quickly, leading to some… unusual and slightly unpleasant colors to look at. He’s tall but scrawny and slightly unkempt looking. Of course, being one of the head scientists for project nexus doesn’t leave much time for sun time. Maybe that’s why he’s so unbearable all the time.

Phobos- (Nightwing) A very big and powerful jet-black nightwing, hatched beneath a blood moon. He’s adorned with jewelry and a flowing majestic cape, and is missing an eye. Cunning, charismatic and cruel, he rules over the city with an iron fist (or rather, talon). Definitely has the ego of a nightwing.

Church- (Seawing) A very big muscular dark blue Seawing, with large spines. Based off an electric eel. They still have the stitches and scars of a G0L3M, as well as having all the electrical weapons as their grunt counterpart.

Jorge- (Mudwing) A greenish-brown Mudwing that’s a little smaller than Church. He’s an unsib but seems to treat Church like a Mudwing would their sibs after getting paired up. Despite not being a bigwings, he’s still massive due to being a G0L3M.

Victor- (Skywing) A slender red Skywing with a short snout. A former chef turned mercenary living in the Nevada desert. He’s a little skittish but is a reliable fighter in claw-to-claw combat, especially aerial combat.

Chopper Dave- (Sky/Nightwing) A slightly short and chubby Skywing-Nightwing hybrid, with the big wings of a Skywing but snout of a Nightwing with reddish-brown scales with black splotches scattered across his body as well as some scars from previous accidents. Carries a lot of Nightwing mannerisms (besides the ego) but isn’t very adept at combat, but is an excellent flier. Totally won’t crash into anything.

Q-Bert- (Sandwing) A big pale gold Sandwing with dark specks covering his scales. He’s a merchant who settled into SQ for the money. He’s fairly bulky and scarred, but they’re old scars.

Skinner- (Rainwing) A large pale Rainwing G0L3M that works as a doctor for SQ. Everybody loves him.

Man its just that the average nfcv fan vision of the belmonts is a human centipede. You grab the og belmonts, you kno the good hearted almost superhuman warriors who fought and killed Dracula time and time again, let nfcv turn them into regular vampire hunters that are framed as morally gray bc "muh poor vampires :(", and who are cynical jerks that don't do much of anything. And then you let the fandom bully them into the ground bc haha loser men and muh girlbosses.

And its kinda weird bc its also often making fun of them due to their traumas? Like yea maybe alcoholism due to losing your entire family at a young age isnt a joke you know. Or seeing your mother get killed in front of you as a child. Yes ofc you can make fun of dark stuff i'd be lynched as a hypocrite if i said you cant, but the way its done and how continuous it is... irrespectful? Like they dont respect the serious aspects of the character and legit think they suck for having horrible things happen to them? Im bad at gauging jokes like that but... yea (they just dont know how to bully fictional characters unlike us who throw Isaac off a 10 stories building everyday <3)

In any case, N! Trevor and N! Richter do not deserve that sort of treatment already, and much less their mainline counterparts :/

And regarding girlbosses, they way ppl need to put down their men to show how cool the girls are just, reeks of insecurity to me? Why does having a "loser dumb wife guy" makes her a girlboss? Why would a confident gal need a loser to take care of instead of a good partner were both compliment eachother's strong and weak points? Maybe im being a bit dramatic here, but it carries off a similar mentality to sexist guys that need to put down their gal's accomplishments to feel well Plus, the way how fandoms still revolve around said loser guys and how a lot of the times the writing itself makes the girlboss character a compliment or a motivation for the man without depth for herself makes it all feel performative. Just write a normal character with character traits who happens to be a woman ffs :/

It's incredible. NFCV alone feels like a shitty fanfiction, full of those fanfic tropes that would make me close immediately: flanderization, wimpification of "pretty" male characters, thirsting, juvenile wit, spotlight-stealing OCs, gratuituous sex and SA treated with the finesse of a charging hippo. Then you let the fandom fandomify this shitty fanfic even more, and the result is just a disaster, a kiddie pool of the most baffling misconceptions you could see.

Just to make one example, Trevor in the games is a noble but ruthless hunter, both friendly and fierce, fighting for mankind yet wanting respect yet gladly giving credit to his friends; in the show, he's a washed out Bojack Horseman-esque asshole, who despite his cynicism admittedly attempts to do the right thing when push comes to shove; and according to fandom he's pretty much a funny penis man with two braincells, Sypha and Alucard. the scene where he punches Dracula and he goes "you must be the Belmont" became a meme for a reason :^)

And yeah you're right that the fandom doesn't seem to. like the Belmonts much. But then again, they're acting like the show wants them to :) The writing doesn't take Trevor's alcoholism seriously, so they don't, alcoholism is a funny joke that makes people silly and just a tad pathetic (and it's not a serious addiction and symptom of larger problems no sir). Richter is a goofball who cries in a corny way, so it's easy to laugh at him - and that's when fans don't say that Julia deserved to die for being a "colonizer". Lenore is sexualized to hell and back, so the fans thirst for her and they think that Hector must thirst for her too, and look, wasn't her death so prettly tragic, maybe she was a good person after all!

The way fandoms treat girl characters nowadays is... barely an improvement over the 2000s when Amy would be called a slut for having a backless dress. Now it's all about how stronk and kewl and queens and girlbosses they are. And you can't criticize the writing of a female character because "just say you hate women 🙄", even when the said character is a female victim of abuse who was written by a molester as a smug radfem whose personality never goes beyond "i want to steal from men because men bad" *coughcoughcough*

The show itself is regressive when it comes to its female characters. They're all the damn same. They're either spunky sassy gals who put their men in their place, or evil but hot dommy mommies (Striga and Morana don't fit the mold because they're not characters). Most of them are magic users, even those who in the games were normal women. I will forever stand by my point that Annette did not need to be a metal bender, and if the writers truly cared, they could have fleshed out the skeleton provided by RoB. But they didn't. Because girl power!!! but only if you're conventionally "badass" and have a "strong" attitude.

He will simply sit and stare at a plate of food until it grows cold or spoils if he’s given one. Chewing and swallowing and digestion- Augh! He hates it so

I like to think a Gealach (Grian Hels) is actually most similar to a Life Series!Grian as opposed to Hermitcraft Grian. And the lil guy sure loves his pranks, of course 😌

Similar to Gea, Lesion (Original Scar Hels) is most similar to both Tycoon!Scar and Last Life’s Red Life!Scar

The districts operate much like a regular government. The Ridge specifically has tight borders and getting in and getting out is difficult. Being run on a dictator-partnership, there is actually propaganda, censoring, and economic rules in place to keep citizens inside the Ridge. Walls surround the district and the people are separated into classes. Hard work is valued and people will work on large projects for Clap or Bach until they quite literally drop. People who used to work in the mines would smuggle others out of the Ridge before the mines were blown up to get rid of Sic and his spiders

Hmm…Oh! Sever is a vex because he is a vex clone of Scar meant to be a replacement of Scar for the Vex. Lesion has and will continue to study the vex and worship them just as Scar and Cub did

The vex clone of Cub that was sent with Sever lives in the ridge. He’s worked with Patho (Etho Hels)

Hex has a body farm under his lab. He studies respawn mechanics and can now repeatedly use Oblivion’s inconsistencies to create more Mumbo Hels. This is how he creates lives to use to bring him back to life, should he die permanently. Unfortunately this lead to a Mumbo escaping and this is how Odon was created. Odon is uh. Another Mumbo Hels of mine 😂

Hels when they’re created go through a brief period of time (different for everyone) where they’re much like their counterparts or otherwise seem quite innocent. After that period, it kicks in that they’re Hels and they behind to act out and develop their individual personalities

Vespa did try to take the Dead Islands after he killed Lesion but it failed because of the shrink in his own district- people leaving and his reputation being nearly ruined. If that shrink hadn’t happened, he would currently own the Dead Islands

The Dead Islands is the only district in Hels other than the Depths where citizens use elytra. I would say Vespa’s does but only his soldiers can fly to distinguish them from other people

I have a Biffa Hels named Alpha who used to run the Hills (which at the time were not call the hills) with Vespa. Sever to Vespa now is much like how Vespa was to Alpha

I honestly didn’t notice how in love Hunter was with Kevin until I watched the movie a second time. It’s crazy how you can literally see all feeling in Hunter’s eyes when he looks at Kevin. I also loved how you said that their relationship fits a BDSM bratting dynamic, because I totally see it.

Which I credit basically entirely to Adrian Greensmith, as it was a vision he had for the character. I really can’t imagine Hunter having been played by anyone else as he brought so much to the role. (Fun fact, if I remember correctly: Noah Urrea, who plays Clay, originally auditioned for Hunter. No harm but I'm very glad he didn't get that. He makes a good Clay and Hunter just needed to be played by Adrian.)

One of the key things Adrian brought to the role also being, probably accidentally, his anxiety.

"I spent a lot of Metal Lords feeling a bit anxious [...] and in hindsight I wonder if some of that was just a sign that Hunter was quite an anxious character [...] I mean his body's so tense all the time." - Adrian Greensmith.

I shortened that quite a bit so I'm including a slightly longer clip of the interview audio for more context. (I can upload a subtitled video clip if anyone wants that as well as link the video on yt but I'd have to do a bit of a search for that)

Aside: If I had to guess I'd say he's probably referring to Peter Sollett who directed Metal Lords when he mentions a 'Pete'.

And yeah the bratting thing was a little bit of a joke but mostly not a joke. Without going absolutely off the deep end, the mentality behind bratting is something I really see in Hunter.

Evie Lupine has a wonderful video about bratting and why people would be interested in it (and why some people hate it) but a short snippet that always spoke to me from that is the following:

"The motivations behind bratting are pretty varied. I think one of the main ones would be a sense of security and comfort. This is when the acting out is sort of a way to be reassured that even when you, break rules, even when you push at things, the partner that you're with is not going to abandon you." - Evie Lupine

Obviously, with Hunter's fear of abandonment, it's easy to see why this would appeal to him.

He also just...idk he has brat energy - sincerely, a brat.

And Kevin does just play out the counterpart to that. He doesn't always have Hunter under control but he tries to.

And he does mostly act as that safe person to brat against, which again amplifies the impact it has when Hunter starts to think he's actually losing Kevin, destroying that feeling of safety.

Aside: I obviously don't think that these characters, in universe, negotiated for a bratting dynamic. In universe it'd be something that just sort of organically developed within their friendship/relationship. But even more than that it's an archetype of a dynamic that we as the audience can easily read into their interactions if that makes sense.

And yeah, I have ADHD as well. And RSD is something that affects me pretty fucking severely. I've only really become more aware of it in the past year or so as my partner has pointed it out more and more.

So it's definitely something that I then noticed more and more in Hunter too.

Obviously this is all just my take on the character, and other people might have totally different interpretations. That's the beauty of art, we all get to find what we need in it and read it in our own ways, influenced by our own life experiences.

Since Arz has been posting about her OC's, why dont I show one of mine!

"Need to know your way through the library? Just ask our lovely librarian assistant, Linda! She knows this building like the back of her hand(especially because its her favourite place in town!)."

(sorry if this looks rushed, I'm not that good at drawing)

In the show:

She was a background-turned-side character that would appear in a few episodes, acting as a guide for the Handeemen if they need to find a specific book.

They even have their own segment called 'Linda's storytime', where she reads popular fairytales(with the Handeemen interupting them from time to time as a li'l gag). She is mostly seen around the library.

Outside of the show:

They're based off Avery(Arz's OC)'s late close friend, who used to work at the town's local Library. Avery wanted to make something to remember them by, and thus, Linda Literature was created!

Relationships with the Handeemen(Show counterparts):

- Rosco: She was at first scared of the giant pup, due to him being larger then the average golden retriever. But they slowly warmed up to him after Riley showed how harmless Rosco is.

Rosco(like how he is with everyone else) is pretty friendly with Linda, he tried to be a lap dog while she was doing her storytime segment and almost sufficated her, Don't worry, Riley managed to help them in time(Rosco also gave her a lick in the face as an apology).

- Riley: She is close friends with the scientist, as Riley is a regular visitor there. Linda would often try and make small talk with her, they find her use of scientific words 'charming'(rumor has it that she has a small crush on the scientist). Riley is one of the few people who returns the library books in a clean state, Linda appreciates this alot.

Riley sees her as a good friend, Linda is one of the few people she doesn't mind having small talk with(they're dynamic is basically the "He asked for no pickles" meme).

- Nick: Linda looks up to Nick as she is inspired by his poetry skills, they hope to one day be as good as him in writing things(she also has a small crush on him too). Although, they do wish he returns the library books with less finger paints on them.

Nick thinks of her as a great friend, he's glad to finally have someone who wilingly listens to his poems, and properly listens to them(no offense Duke, but you might need to work on your focus more).

- Daisy: The two are good friends, Linda enjoys talking to her, but she also prefers the baker to return the library books withought any flour or other baking stains that somehow got stuck in the pages(atleast she gives them freshly baked pies as an apology).

Daisy invited Linda to join her book club as they needed more members, although, its more of a gossip group really(Daisy is also the only one who knows about Linda's small crush on both Riley and Nick).

- Mortimer: While the two aren't close, they do bond over their shared love for reading. Linda likes how expresive Mortimer is when he's telling a story, it makes storytime alot more entertaining. She's also thankful that he returns the library books withought any stains. Safe to say she has high respect for the old man.

Mortimer is pleased to have another reading buddy, as much as he enjoys Daisy's book club, there was just SO much tea that even he couldn't handle it.

More Info about them:

- They have an emotional support, Chilean Rose Tarantula named; Rosey. Fun fact: The show used an actual real life tarantula, due to Owen's huge obsession with accurancy and detail, tho this also led to the infamous missing spider incident(they still have no clue where it went).

- She's sometimes known as The Secret Keeper(for some reason people think the Library is a good place to tell secrets out loud), luckily, she's too nice to use it as blackmail.

- Originally, Linda's pronoun's were They/Them, but due to the fact that it was the 80s, it was changed to She/They to avoid censorship(unfortunetly the show could only used the 'She' pronoun to adress them, curse you transphobes!).

- She is constantly anxious due to her OCD(which explains why they're always seen reorganizing the books and checking if the backdoor is lock for the 28th time).

(P.S. Do tell me if my writing on her OCD is incorrect, I dont want to accidentally misinterpret/mischaracterized people who have the disorder)

Headcanons of MC’s Tsum-Tsums Part 1:

(based on this little thing)

Tsum Grim:

‘Like its counterpart, it’s a mischievous sort that likes to eat good food

Unlike its counterpart, it’s more coolheaded and practical. It understands that always giving into your basic urges is never a good idea(but it is protective of MC, so sometimes it’ll “forget” this principle)

It tries to be a conscience for Grim but is always ignored

Assists with conversations, giving MC prompts to answer with when in a difficult discussion

When MC is stressed, it’ll either try to rub its tiny body on their neck, or inflate to medium size for MC to hug

It has stolen Grim’s tuna cans at least eight times now(Grim has no idea)

‘Thinks it’s the Alpha of the small tsum tribe

Tsum Malleus Draconia:

This little dude has never known human attention before, and now it’s soaking it up. It’s very quiet and usually scurries away when other people come around, but with MC it’s different; it never dreamed that a human would want to interact with it… ever. Every time MC says hello to it, every time it watches them do homework, every time MC gives it a konpeitō candy, it cherishes all the time spent with them

This is not to say that it’s clingy. On the contrary, most of the time it’s found keeping watch of the chickens in the chicken coop. It only really appears when its needed

And when it’s needed is combat. It can predict at least one of the spells that the enemy will use in a battle(due to its own experience with magic), and show them to MC

It doesn’t know much about modern appliances, so when MC whips out the vacuum cleaner, they’re immediately met with a series of small yips

‘Wishes the other two would calm the fudge down

Tsum Dire Crowley:

It helps out with the Twistunes, giving MC the correct signals to act on. It doesn’t always expect a perfect score, but it’s always so happy when MC achieves one

With the power of flight, it patrols the school daily. It flies to every part of it, checking out every nook and cranny of the place at its leisure

And MC can tell, because the tiny creature brings gifts to them on a regular basis; pretty stones, fragrant wildflowers, fresh berries and gacha figurines- perhaps as a demonstration(or even deviation)of the Crowley Generosity

It’s not shy by any means, and sometimes flutters atop an unsuspecting student. Especially when they’re studying. Sometimes it’ll even try to help and tutor MC on confusing magic lessons

Although, whenever the real principal shows up, it hides. MC doesn’t know why it does this, and the tsum is keeping its lips sealed…

metaphor(a) elections AU

this is some indo elections/pemilu nonsense. literally Do Not Read this dawg. not indonesian? scroll away and pretend this do not exist...

a write up on what actually happens in my AU, or if you want to call it... the series of drawings of me murdering capres 01...??? i don't originally want to write this, and prefer to leave the interpretations be to whoever enjoys indogov pemilu to a deeper extend (i even allow expansions)

but now that there are obscure ideas entering my head, and how probably this AU is flexible enough to the political climate... may as well write it i guess LOL...

i have a dumb brain juice, if you see present and past tense mixed wrongly, that's on that. i don't give a damn about this insanity i'm upon to write

as the name says, this AU is built upon on a metaphor - the phrase "pembunuhan karakter" (lit. character assassination - defamation). while most of the AU here is about ABW, it's pretty much applicable to every other politicians (or even citizens!) that went through defamation. it just happens to be A Lot about him due to the 8945945 goofy ahhh slanders he's getting (he even has his own meme). wdym guy is being considered both as a baptized christian and extremely religious arabic lackey LOL

the reason why i decided to write this is due to how i'm assigning some rhythm songs (read: literally only arcaea and phigros, as these are the ones i play the most ATM (i swear, i have played more rhythm games other than those)), which is... these are obscure stuffs!!! so i'm writing it.

each main act (read: what i have drawn) gets a rhythm song as the "main theme". as of now (hopefully the only thing i WANT and WILL write here), there are 4 songs for it. so... 4 acts, i guess.

ACT 1: the murder (attempts) [marenol - leaf] (TW: self harm, drug abuse, gore)

"if you can't kill them, kill their reputation, kill their name, kill their character." - prabowo on the slanders about "rigging the elections" he received

the kroco (troops) of the big boss (the president) got ABW after an attempt to fight the big boss with ganjar, and is now attempting to murder him (don't ask me how come he's kidnapped, make it up yourself!!!). but for whatever reason, he doesn't die. can't be killed, even.

now, while you probably already know why, i want to put a quick write up about the AU's weapons to "murder" and some other mechanics. there are 3 kinds of weapon:

red colored: has funky, metaphoric shape, mainly red colored, glows. this weapon, while could make you bleed and leaves physical injuries that are much, MUCH HARDER to recover and dissappear, will not kill you - the most fatal blow will only send you into a coma. this weapon is manifested by yourself. didn't thought what precisely manifests it though, due to my reluctance on dabbling deeper into pemilu '24 fandom

white colored: pretty much is like the red colored ones. the only difference is on the appearance and ownership. it shapes like regular, normal inanimate objects, all-white colored, and doesn't glow. these are lent by someone, AKA not made manifest by yourself. consider it like the "fake form" of the red colored weapons. originally, this is meant to symbolize how jokowi throws the blame that should have been directed to him to someone else, and how he used his "subordinates" to mess someone up. but everyone can do that now, i guess.

normal/real-life colored: exactly the same with the real-life counterpart: WILL KILL YOU PHYSICALLY. just your daily life, non-magical objects.

can you recover from the coma/get the injury marks away? how long does it last? the answer is, yes. you can recover from it. coma lasts until you're recovered. someone in coma/injuries can be recovered nearly completely by the help of their peers. how their peers will support you to recover from your coma, and how their peers can convince the people that they can wake up - clearing your name from the defamation. and you have to believe that you can wake up from the coma too, deep in your coma slumber - your peers' support could be useless if you don't believe you can make it.

as for the song - by context, marenol is an antidepressant that, while is powerful at not making you depressed anymore and all happy, has a side effect: making your dreams a death nightmare. you'll dream about dying in various ways.

well... that doesn't sound really paralel-able with this section of the AU, other than, uh, multiple deaths that don't actually kill you. but hey, song vibes very well, so what can i say. the fact that guy just letting the slanders be in the name of free speech prooobably can be attributed to the depression-free aspect of the medicine.

ACT 2: crossroad/persimpangan jalan [disorder - hyun, yuri]

"when you have a character made out of your identity - your own true reflection - no one can kill that character, as it is the true reflection of the real persona in you." half-assed translation of anies' response on the massive defamation done to him

OKAY. so i got A LOT of questions and misconceptions on one thing about this AU: "is ABW immortal? can you make him "dead" due to the supreme court outcome?" the answer is no!!! 😭

first, to notice, all the weapons here are red or white. no real-life colored ones. so he (or anyone) won't die by these. second, as of why these weapons doesn't seem to affect him at all:

depends on how often have you been through this. the more often you go through it, the more you can mitigate and get used to it ("alah bisa karena terbiasa")

the quote above: he believes strongly that the defamation won't tarnish his name. yes, you can be "immune" from the coma effects of these weapons, by believing in yourself, that the defamation done to you will not affect you, and push through. and... peer support too, i guess. so, say, if ABW one day gives up on believing so, then these weapon will send him into a coma. simple.

now that he's alive and nothing can really be done... the boss and his higher subordinates will have to do something else!

the moment the two stars overlapped, I disappeared

while the big boss and ABW actually used to work together (trivia: anies was part of jokowi's 2014 TKN), he probably don't want ABW anymore (re: his short 2-year ministry of education and culture tenure -> "mentri buangan"), and directs all the blames for his program issues to him instead.

after swallowing the pain towards the path I must not take

contradictive, as the path ABW took now is the path a lot of people think he should take - the path to oppose the government. but still, it's painful to go through, according to whatever the hell that guy's going up against to do his jakarta governor programs (see: E1 circuit, reclamation AGAINST LUHUT???)

when I lose myself and wander

now that the elections over... dunno, but it seems he still wants to attempt the presidential race again. he'd need something to keep his political momentum, though. he has some choices he can attempt, but what would it be?

i would be looking for you who would be out of existence, forever

according to some rumors (tempo mag?), prabowo offers a ministry position, or whatever it is to him. a crossroad is presented at ABW. which road will he take: accepting the offer and be part of the future government, probably a dream to be with the big boss again (that's probably impossible to reach now - or refuse it and stay as an opposition (or maybe gelandangan politik, who knows)?

ACT 3A: route if he accepts the offer [desive - misomyl]

"the light is in your hands. hasn't it always been like that?" - desive's tagline

but what if he doesn't believe so, or has given up?

this is insane (everything about this AU is, though), but i have an animatic of this route with this song in my mind. clock ticking as he waits for his next round of murder attempt and goes through it (0:00 - 0:35) , injury time/interval to offer the position (0:36 - 1:28), accepts it and goes through medication to heal it (1:29 - 1:52), and finally be reborn - but as an anomaly* to his fans, who sees him as the supposed "symbol" of change (1:53 - end). some even speculates, maybe as his successor, even (funny! but not impossible either! some say he's close to prabski and just a malu-malu kucing kind of guy!)

*also i don't actually know precisely the story of the character attributed to this song yet (ayu), but apparently, she's someone who is meant to eat anomalies in her world? what if he joins the rezime to eat the anomalies from the inside

ACT 3B: route if he refuses the offer [logos - polysha, miyo takashiro]

"whispers of sorrow leaked into the clear water and dissolved. having lost many clue, its arcane code... is still unresolved?" - logos lyric

for whoever looking for someone other than mf ABW in this AU, they're here!!!1!

he gets kicked out from the torture room because well, there's nothing left can be done. useless, for now. "let him be, no one would trust him with such godly amount of injuries." the big boss said. they landed somewhere outside the boss HQ, where he found his silly amin peers that tried to rescue him, imin and tom. he gets his injuries temporarily healed up (will still need to go to the hospital to recover from the blood loss).

but then, ABW asks something to these 2: he wants to rescue someone else that's stuck in the HQ - ganjar. enter the gama gang.

when they fought the big boss, they lost, got stabbed by some kind of long massive sword. they fell to a blood pool made from the blood of everyone else who were sent into a coma before. they fell to different places however, and for whatever reason, only interested in beating ABW's ass?

tip tap dripping the drops keep on drawing the ripples tic tac flowing the time only that one echoed in while emptiness

stubborn wish, but they do it anyway. so they reentered the room again to go to the big blood pool area to find ganjar. and surprise, they find him with mahfud and whoever-is-the-thomas-of-gama in the deeper areas of the pool. a flood, even. and some trashes and debris around. it's meant for 1) how the demak flood is blamed into him when he's not in his tenure anymore*, and 2) how the MK responsed to the amin/gama indictment's evidences as "we're not your trashbin (due to the evidence given being weak)".

*there could be more, but... i'm not sure. i don't feel like metaphoring more of his slanders into the AU, given how undertalked his slanders/scandals are (U-20, wadas) and ending up making some people feel that he's actually "running away" from being blamed, aka he does have faults in it. unlike ABW who is, ya rabbi, can you stop talking about him FOR ONE SECOND? so i digress. do whatever you will, though.

run away from the dazzling dawn walk to west while stumbling on the way, I met you all alone your face was depressed, and ...about to cry

mahfud didn't precisely know how to wake nor heal ganjar up, because well... he seems to be someone who has the least issues and conflicts with any of these people. maybe other than the ma'ruf VP issue in 2019, idk. thus, at this point, the only person that knows exactly how to save him is... well, fellow defamation victim, anies himself. so he gave some pep talk/affirmation words to wake him up from his coma. not sure about the methods bc again, didn't think deep enough into it.

and... yippee, he woke up! now they gotta escape because... whoopsie, the guards found them. "why are you here bro, GET OUT OF HERE NO ONE WANTS YOU IN DA YARD!!!!" so they ran, yet... bam. they got hit by them. they manage to get out though, at least. just, with injuries now...

aftermath

in this AU, gama gang's story ends the same in both routes. ganjar and mahfud later part ways, as they realize that this is all they can do the most. except ganjar is probably planning to invade the big boss' smaller HQs with his red bull gang (PTUN).

amin, on the other side, ends differently. in this route, ABW woke up and found himself in a hospital, bed rested, with tom next to him (he has mostly healed from the injuries, quite minor). he wondered where imin is.

and speak of the devil, imin came in to visit, but his injuries are 100% healed instead, doesn't seem to be someone suffering from being hit by a massive hammer. in their convo, they found out that when everyone was hit by the hammer and got kicked out, imin was brought to the big boss' place instead, and was offered a position, in which he accepts. so he's all healthy and on the govern's side now. they also decide this is where they part ways. as imin leaves, he told the two that they can let him know, if they want to join the government someday. he can help arrange it. ABW and tom just sat there with unreadable expression.

stupid ass long write up, hope you don't read this insanity at all. but that's all there is to the series of images. feel free to use this for whatever you want, consider i orphan this for real. claim it as yours, even... couldn't care less

BONUS: Pokestar Studios

When expanding the region of Unova for the Black and White sequel games, Game Freak decided to include some additional references to American cultural icons, with one being Pokestar Studios, Pokemon’s version of Hollywood in its prime. Only, since Unova is based on New York, I guess they moved out of California all the way over to the East coast.

Pokestar Studios is a pretty interesting side attraction to the main game shenanigans, since the player can participate as an actor in various movie sets, engaging in Pokemon battles more as preset puzzles than monster fighting. Using rental Pokemon, you’ve got to follow a script, and know when’s the right time to make certain moves, take falls, or wait around for your next cue, with dialogue choices in between, all with the goal of making the best crowd-pleasing box office success. While it is pretty straightforward, and the use of rental acting Pokemon makes most of the puzzles pretty simple, I did always enjoy this alternative to the regular gameplay loop, and how much depth it was given. What’s really special is that you can use your own Pokemon when reshooting a completed movie, and if you’re clever enough can even find secret hidden endings that will make your movie an infamous cult classic, and make your Pokemon a well-known movie star.

What makes Pokestar Studios noteworthy enough for a Bonus Article though, is that the opponents you fight in movies aren’t limited to just other human trainers and Pokemon. Even the fantastical world of Pokemon needs some fictional movie monsters in their theaters, and some of them get pretty out there compared to the usual Pikachu and Charizard. Since Game Freak isn’t likely to give them any attention anytime soon, I thought it was worthwhile to shed some light on these lesser known official Pokemon creations.

Black Door & White Door

Starting off strong with these two magical doors, opponents from a medieval fairy tale style movie. Specialized opponents like these are usually represented with just a green screen prop during the actual recording session, but once the movie is completed they’re replaced with what is presumably CGI. That’s kinda funny.

The Black and White Doors are Grass and Fire types respectively, strangely enough. I really enjoy how multilayered their designs are, how behind the central lock and chains you can see shadowy eyes and a thick-lipped smile and big yellow teeth on the main door. It definitely has the feeling of some grimdark fairy tale monster to it.

The weird snakes coiling around the pillars and gripping the chains are pretty charming too, I love their toothy overbites and protruding eyes. Strangely enough, they share a strong resemblance to Applin, a Pokemon from all the way forward in Generation Eight. They share the same eyes and serpentine bodies, so I wonder if the connection was even considered by the devs or if this is just a happy coincidence. Either way, both the snakes and doors are pretty fun.

The ‘trainer’ that uses both doors is also a gatekeeper represented by a giant Substitute doll. Now that’s a real bummer, people are already begging for the Substitute doll to be the inspiration for a real Pokemon, and here’s a lovely giant plush toy sprite and everything. Just look at that excess stitching and exposed fluff. It would’ve been a great Normal/Ghost type.

MT & MT2

Of course, since Tyranitar is Pokemon’s version of Godzilla, Pokemon’s Hollywood has to go an make a series of movies with a Mechagodzilla too. MT, obviously short for Mecha Tyranitar, is a well designed robot counterpart to the Rock/Dark type we all know. I appreciate with how intricately it’s detailed, without appearing too complex. All the metallic seams and rivets are great, and I like how all the joints on its limbs and tails are defined and visible. Vents appearing to reside in Tyranitar’s weird chest cavities are a good touch too.

MT2 has a sick coloration too. I wish that was reflective of Shiny Tyranitar’s palette. If they were to ever change it one day, I’d like for it to be black and red like this one.

F-00

Awww, now this one really stinks. There aren’t enough fully mechanical Pokemon as there should be, and this adorable little toy robot would be an EXCELLENT addition to the roster. It’s so obviously designed to be cutesy, but in just the right ways. I really enjoy its LED screen face, and the little heartbeat monitor on its chest. The superfluous screw on top of its head is a classic touch too.

But THEN, it also has a big, broken, malfunctioning form that makes everything ten times better. If this wasn’t a robot, it’d be one of the most gory designs out there. Just look at it, all its limbs are stretched apart with exposed, torn wires, and its whole facial screen is hanging out of the head. I really enjoy how broken and malformed this thing is, and to make matters better it’s only an alternate form to the cute robot. So, if it were an available Pokemon, both would be equally available to players rather one being locked to a stronger evolution.

What GIVES. Why reserve such a nice design to a one-game minigame feature, one where you can’t even use it, huh??? Some super fan of F-00’s movies out there really needs to get to creating it in real life for future Pokemon trainers to catch and use on their journeys. Just look at that great curved posture in that malfunctioning portrait. What a TEASE.

Invaders

There’s an Alien Invasion movie series as well, and features a bunch of beehive hairdo-wearing feminine aliens invading a major city in giant Cascoon-like UFOs. It’s interesting to try and read into the interpretation that the creatives in the Pokemon universe would try to base an extraterrestrial ship off an insect cocoon of all things, even if I don’t know exactly what to glean from it. The sprite is really excellently drawn though, like wow. Look at all those futuristic lines and glowing screens. The sheen across the top of the shell is really well done too. Great job, guys.

The metallic womanly alien is nice too, and feels right out of a classic alien monster b-movie. I’m not an expert of anything but I feel like there was a trend for a while to make aliens seem metallic or robotic in nature, rather than slimy space freaks. Maybe it has to do with the fancy futuristic feel of chrome. Everything’s chrome in the future.

Old Statue

These next two monsters come from a movie series called Ghost Eraser, where your character is tasked with finding people who have been possessed by spirits and cleansing them and capturing the lingering ghosts. Most people assume this to be a reference to Ghostbusters, and I could definitely see that considering the final antagonist of the movies. However, the director of all of them is credited as John Pokenter (ha), so who’s to say exactly.

Anyways, the first fully original monster is actually another weird ‘trainer,’ you never fight it directly since it instead commands a Golurk, but this Old Statue is another quite intricate and interestingly detailed design. I guess because the designers knew they never had to worry about accommodating for it becoming a Pokemon that would be drawn several times over by various artists, they didn’t hold back on how detailed their designs were. The weird, lopsided painted face is cool, as are the strange, ribbed anatomy it seems to have and goofy face. Of course special mention goes to the plasma ball it holds too. This would be an excellent, welcome addition to Pokemon’s set of ancient relics alongside Claydol and Golurk.

Majin

Majin takes the role as Ghost Eraser’s final boss, making it Pokemon’s Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I like what it goes for, being a big, green smog demon covered in building debris and rebar. Remember from Garbodor’s review how appealing I find rebar anatomy, for some reason? Yeah. Maijin has various pipes covering its body too, which each expel puffs of smoke at various intervals, including with its nose. That’s goofy. I really like its jagged jack-o-lantern smile too. Definitely would be welcome among Pokemon’s roster.

It’s also a Dark/Ghost type ancient evil that used to be sealed in a relic, that being the previous Old Statue. I wonder if Maijin is some fictionalized version of Pokemon’s own Spiritomb considering their similarities. That’d be a neat little detail.

Humanoid & Monster

Finally are these two monsters, from a horror movie series also by John Pokenter. Manifesting from an otherworldly fog gives us these two strange creatures, the lesser Humanoid and the Monster that commands them. The splotchy red and purple texture gives me the impression of these things having a claylike texture, molded together from various substances. The Humanoid even remains rooted to the ground, as if sprouting up from the muck. I like the stomach eye and how in its idle animation is sways around lazily, as if unable to stay upright or trying to poorly imitate a human posture. Definitely feels like an uncanny person lookalike that are popular in horror spheres nowadays.

Then here’s the big bad Monster, a weird fleshy nodule with several branching tentacles, seemingly connected to it like various roots stemming from its source. I’m quite a big fan of weird, meaty monsters acting like overgrown plant life as horror concepts, so this Monster does appeal to me well. It retains the weird purple splotches of the Humanoid, but with more clear swirls and patterns, which makes sense since this is likely the more well-defined ‘true’ form. That big, wide eye is great too. A real sick design, and I’d love to be able to use something so alien and unusual alongside the rest of Pokemon’s roster, but alas…

I’ll wrap things up there, and while Pokestar Studios does have a couple other unique opponents to battle, these were the ones I felt most noteworthy of discussion. Once again, it’s a great shame that all of these interesting and unorthodox designs ended up being thrown to the wayside, forgotten and tucked away in a side activity unlikely to ever be referenced in the series again. The way that they break from Pokemon norms is what makes them so enticing, but also would explain why they’ve never returned. As I said earlier, they were likely designed with that in mind. Knowing that these designs would never get used again, the artists went all out and didn’t hold back by usual restrictions. I guess my main point is that it’s sad seeing what they’re capable of but usually can’t achieve. I love a lot of preexisting Pokemon of course, but seeing the more out-there official designs still does raise my curiosity on what more Could Be. If that makes sense. Ah well, that’s enough time spent in Hollywood for one article.

PLEASE tell me about your Robin headcanons, I'm so curious now.

oh beans i didn't expect a response to my meme! (i mean, it has happened before but my answer was a bit undercooked) normally i'd say my headcanons are cringe and try not to talk about them but THIS TIME i am excited to indulge, mainly to have them written down on my art page :> this may end up being a long boy answer lol

(as a brief preamble, i've pretty much been building off of these robin headcanons since like, middle school or so (at least 5 years) for my smash fanfiction. while the amount of Stuff i've imagined for them might make them a bit different from their original characters, the context of awakening is what prevents me from turning them into full-on oc's)

anyway. i'm not responsible for any damages this may induce. the actual hcs will be under the cut

Both of them

so to start out, both the female and male variants are separate entities rather than like, alternate dimension counterparts. in fact, they're siblings (reeaally starting a bit out there i know). for reference, the girl (younger of the two) is named reflect (a misreading of the japanese name i grew attached to. it is what it is) while the boy is just robin. this is why i usually try drawing them with different clothes so they don't look like clones of each other lol. i like to think some aspects like the shirt and the black robe and tall brown boots are staples of the "tactician" uniform to explain any similarities.

neither have amnesia (since i just.. don't like the trope that much + i wanted to have them remember and reflect on their upbringing y'know). robin is actually a regular, normal blooded dude (which is why i don't really depict him in an evil grima-possessed form). reflect on the other hand did have grima's blood, which tipped off the grimleal in hopes to resurrect grima. however, much like the original awakening story, reflect's mama took her away out of fear of what the grimleal would do to her in pursuit of their goals. due to circumstances that i haven't fully figured out yet, robin was left behind and was raised by daddy dearest validar. reflect was raised by her mama and unaware of the grimleal or that she even had a brother/father at all.

a fairly old but still good ref of their differences. i definitely took a lot of liberties with reflect obviously (i REALLLLY like robin's original design, main reason why i got so attached to the character, so i kept it pretty true to the original with some details i dont like redrawing sanded off). a lot of design elements developed over the years and came from various sources.

(strap thingies on the side were based on cipher art, stockings are based on heroes art of f!morgan, cloak is partially inspired by the grandmaster design (albeit heavily simplified), shorts... i just thought looked cool, blah blah)

ok enough rambling, time to ramble about them individually

Robin

if it wasn't clear by how i'd often draw robin with a tired/exhausted look on his face, he isn't exactly the most high-energy guy :p he's jaded and sometimes a bit of an asshole to people he doesn't know. pretty unapproachable generally. i hope the fact he was raised by validar would explain why. i imagine validar was particularly bitter about the grima vessel slipping out of his grasp and took some of that out on his remaining child.

his strict upbringing helped him become very proficient in tactics and magic as expected... but also a bit reclusive and not much of a people person. he'd travel around after being sick of validar's shit, which is how he crosses paths with chrom. chrom basically takes him in and lets him work as a tactician for the shepherds, which is an act that causes robin to become very attached and loyal to chrom. i'd say he's an established member for a few years before the events of awakening.

he's kind of unathletic (very skinny bastard) and probably has redditor posture (inspired by how slow of a runner he is in smash bros). magic is much more his "asset" ;) his sword game is mid if he's not wielding the levin sword.

he remains single to the end of awakening's campaign, but historians note he was "really good friends" with chrom (he is attracted to men lol. specifically chrom. but then chrom gets married which complicates things 🥴).

Reflect

in comparison to her male counterpart, she's much more free-spirited and bubbly. she's chill and great at making friends, a bit more accurate to the original. she was also raised to be a tactician, though she is comparatively still a novice. still, she's a quick and enthusiastic learner. i also imagine her to be kind of a risky thrill-seeker.

when she leaves her small community to explore the world, she comes across the burning village in awakening's first chapter, which is how she crosses paths with chrom. she joins his gang to further her learning as a tactician and to make some friends yeeaa!! (i haven't written as much about her as i make mrobin 😛)

she later marries chrom and becomes the mother of lucina.

I sometimes draw her with red hair tied in a black bow-- that's related to some non-fe fanfic stuff that is too convoluted and cringe for this already lengthy and cringe post. but it's an alternate look for her i think is kind of cute 😊

hopefully that's a sufficient enough answer, my brain always gets really scattered whenever i have to elaborate my robin hcs to someone else. i get a bit self-concious about them because i think i'm so far off-base with their original characters (but can't oc-ify them with some elements being based in the world/story of awakening) that i'll become like. public enemy of the greater robin community. but i know that's a bit ridiculous, so i let loose here as a means to get these many thoughts somewhere on my art page as a reference for when i draw these fellas in the future :)

there's also the separate tangent of their offspring, the morgans (or morgan being the girl, and marc being the boy) but this post is long enough as is so i'll just leave it there :,)

My name is Comet Calloway, the note begins.

I accepted the position of Mayor of Mars Colony 01 on September 23rd, 3001 by Earth’s calendar. I was selected for my extensive record of volunteering and community support. Ever since I started in this role, I have put every bit of my heart and soul into helping shape this community into the thriving civilization we all know that it can be.

On Earth, the year is currently 3005. I’m not sure of the exact day, and I can’t look it up, but the month is June. Two Martian days ago, a group of dangerous people broke into my home and took me to the unknown location, where I write from currently. They have styled their antics after “supervillains,” wearing costumes and referring to their base of operations as their “evil lair” They have treated me alright so far, but I’m still afraid.

Comet reads over what he’s written so far. He thinks he’s definitely done a good job of setting the scene. It even sounds pretty professional, as best as he can make it. Some people appreciate that he’s ‘down to earth,’ but others hate it and can’t respect it. He tries to know better than to want to please everyone. But when you’re the mayor, isn’t that at least kind of the point?

Yes, it’s definitely a good start to the letter. But he chews on the pencil as he considers that he still doesn’t know exactly what he’s writing the letter to say. His inspiration sort of goes like, he wants to leave behind a record that... says he’s been a good person who does his best and means well? Because it will be really easy to call this a pathetic mistake from the outside, and he’d really like a chance to explain himself.

Like, people only started acting like supervillains because of the superheroes that showed up. And who expects sudden superheroes to be a regular concern for building a Mars village! Perhaps he should have known that superheroes would inspire the counterpart. But he didn’t have time to think about that because he was so busy trying to make sure sapient beings get treated equitably in his town, and the superheroes were intelligent robots, which is apparently a thing, and he had to deal with all the people who couldn’t understand why someone didn’t just go track them down and turn them off, and -

A sudden noise outside of the makeshift cell tears his attention from the paper. Moments later, he’s staring into the visor of a superhero robot, who informs him that a rescue is underway.

Comet looks blankly from the robot to his letter and back. Oh. Right. Superhero inspires supervillain, which inspires supervillain evil deeds... which then inspires superhero opposition of supervillain evil deeds. There’s a next part in the cycle, isn’t there. Of course he is being rescued. He stammers a few attempts to reply, then settles on, “I mean, thank you! Thank you so much! I’m coming!”

He crumples the paper and gets to his feet. But then he hears another noise, from deeper in the facility called an evil lair. And he prudently straightens out the paper, folds it up, and puts it in his pocket instead.

Not gonna lie but l actually love Modern SpongeBob (Seasons 9-13) than Old SpongeBob. Don't get me wrong, l love both Old and Modern SpongeBob. But seasons 9 - 13 are much more interesting and have a much better animation/art style. The art style is much more cartoony and colorful.

Tbh I get that. I really enjoy the modern seasons of sb. They're equally tied with the classic seasons in my heart. I know that's like a sin amongst sb fans but its true! Its so fun and colorful and you can see that there is a lot of love put into it. It might not always be so strong writing wise but I still adore it. I feel like nowadays cartoony cartoons have gone out of style hence why there's so much vitriol when a show is silly and light hearted.

Go anywhere online and say you like the current show, people would act like there's something wrong with you in the head. They can't conceive that you can just like something for fun. They act like you're an idiot for enjoying something so silly and light hearted. There always has to be some cynicism, angst or some serialized drama to it. Which I do very much enjoy very much but I also like this and I feel like they both have much to offer. I also feel like cartoons in general are SUPER underrated. Unless it proves itself to be "deep" then it nobody cares for it. They think silly expressions or wacky movements means its for only children (and ignoring the fact that drawing those things are actually VERY difficult, I prefer doing realism but I struggle HARD to get down the wacky expressions spongebob does on a regular basis! It takes skill!)

I also like a lot of what the newer seasons have to offer. People always go on "modern spongebob tortures squidward too much" "modern Spongebob made patrick into a jerk" and they refer to an episode that came out 10-15 years ago lol. Its really discrediting a lot of what the show has to offer. They made Patrick much more nicer in recent episodes and he willingly stands up for Spongebob when he gets pushed around. Squidward torture rarely happens. The show constantly experiments and has amazing art all around. I feel like a lot of that gets ignored. Gosh I really wish it got acknowledged more! Season 13 has been pretty experimental I've been really enjoying it.

You know what's funny? The modern seasons get so much hate because its not ""hillenburg"" and it doesn't have the old writers even tho Hillenburg technically never left. He was Executive producer and gave his ok on scripts and episodes. He wasn't as actively involved as he was in the first 3 seasons but he wasn't fully gone. AND he returned around season 9. He vowed to work as long as his health allowed him and so season 13 is the only season he hasn't worked on BUT he trusted the show to the current crew which is mostly made up of the same folks who made the first 3 seasons. Literally you can pull up a modern episode and there's always someone who worked on the first 3 seasons. Obviously they aren't going to produce the same things they made almost 25 years ago but you can tell they're doing their best. Its rare to get the same thing that clicked 20ish years ago but they should be free to experiment and do something new too. Spongebob has always changed and adapted for the times. Most people don't even notice that each season is different from each other. Season 1 is wildly different from season 3 for example.

Anyways classic and modern have a special place in my heart for the same reason. They're both massively comforting to me and I can put on either and they'd make a bad day feel so much better <3

Also Classic Spongebob and Modern Spongebob would be besties. Don't believe the art work of classic sponge hating his modern counterpart. They'd get along SO well.

FusionFall Headcanons: Fusion Spawns

Looking back at many of the descriptions for fusion monsters, there’s a lot of interesting bits of lore to them that we players don’t typically learn from just running around the world of the game and mowing them down. In this set of headcanons focusing on them, I’d like to expand on those ideas. So, to start, let’s go with the little monstrosity that practically acts as the face of Fuse’s forces: The Fusion Spawn.

In their description, fusion spawns are called “the core of Fuse’s army.” It further explains that they “travel in packs” and effectively act as the base of all fusion monsters.  The difference between regular spawns and other monsters is simply that they haven’t “adapted to the environment.” They are made of fusion matter alone rather than combining with an external source of material or energy.

Physically, these spawns are often pretty weak and small in size--particularly in areas with low concentrations in fusion matter. They’re little, goopy blobs that have to bounce from place-to-place and they can only really attack by biting people. One or two hits can take them down easily. However, they are still far from safe creatures. Again, the fact that they travel in packs means that they can overwhelm their opponents through numbers alone. The fact that they’re made from fusion matter alone means that they’re highly toxic and can easily infect both their victims and the environment. Lastly, as seen in the promo comic, “Worlds Collide,” the spawns are capable of morphing their bodies in small ways without fully transforming into other types of monsters--such as creating a tentacle/vine to snatch something out of a person’s hands. 

Sidenote: We also see in the comic that they do have a pretty strong bite pressure, since one of the spawns bites Bloo’s paddleball in-half. No matter how weak they look, a soldier should always be careful of those teeth. 

We see both in the comic and the tutorial section of the game that the spawns directly, well... spawn out, of terrafusers. This acts as a natural defense for terrafusers while establishing Fuse’s army on a planet early on during an invasion. A terrafuser may be the direct source of an infection in an area, but fusion spawns are mobile--helping it spread further and faster. 

Furthermore, given how quickly it takes for them to reappear/a terrafuser to create more of them, we begin to figure out why the spawns so pivotal to Fuse’s initial stage of attacks as opposed to sending any heavy hitters like the Stalactitans seen in Fuse’s Labyrinth: Despite their weaknesses, their rapid production and spread of infection allows for his army to quickly gain ground on targeted worlds. By the time the victims on said worlds have regrouped enough to try and fight back, many of the spawns will have already started adapting and have only gotten stronger in the forms of new monsters, now in infected landscapes much more suited to themselves.

The higher the concentration of fusion matter in an area, the larger/stronger the fusion spawns in that area tend to be.

There are only a couple, rare exceptions for the rule that all spawns become other fusion monsters. Fusions don’t count at all in that classification, as they are separate, sentient entities created from combining fusion matter with material from another being, giving them their own, unique identities. Another example for this is when Fuse has successfully corrupted a species and turned them into fusion monsters, like in the cases with the Scribble Spawns and Spawn Simians. It’s the hope of many Fusion Fighters to find a way to save these victims.

There are a handful of different types of spawns that don’t transform into completely distinct monsters; however, they are still significantly different from their regular spawn counterparts. The Putrid Spawns can “exude a deadly poison from their breath” that’s far more intense and fast-acting than the usual airborne infection. (Given how their cousin, the Toxic Spawn, is known to wear a gasmask “to protect themselves from themselves,” it seems highly likely that these poisons are made up of additional, combined substances aside from fusion matter. Still, while the gas emitted by the Toxic Spawns are still described as fatal to Earth’s creatures, they may just have something of a narcotic effect on fusion monsters due to the fact that so little is known to hurt them aside from imaginary energy.) Creepy Spawns don’t have much of any visible differences from regular spawns, but are known to be much stronger--with the game’s info stating to watch them or “you’ll soon find yourself at the nearest Resurrect ‘Em.” Sneaky Spawns are the same, except they tend to be a little smarter than average and use surprise tactics.    

In the game world, you can find signs that regularly warn others of areas with fusion spawns/fusion monsters, such as in Prickly Pines. Since we only really see them though in rural/wilderness locations despite the war taking place all over the globe, this warning is more likely about the fact that you won’t find much help in these areas. It’s the wild: Bases are fewer and farther between. You risk entering at your own peril. The fusion spawn became the face of these warning signs not just because they’re the most basic and well-known type of fusion monster, but because it’s also harder to tell what exact kind of fusion monster might be lurking in the furthest depths of the wilderness that no one’s discovered yet.
