Back from my week long break, and had a blast of a time, but not feeling too refreshed.

First off, apparently now I have insomnia. And I can't decide if it's a symptom of my mental unwelless, or if I'm feeling like shit because I can't sleep. I want to cry.

It's like, even before my vacation I could feel the desperate need for vacation, and I was so permanently exhausted that it started to scare me, but now that I had a week off, I feel like I rested just enough to realise how burnt out I really was (am)

I am so damn tired from having to dig myself out of this mental pit again and again

And I just want to have a good night's sleep...

It's just one of the weird quirks of the legal system where there's, somewhat unexpectedly, a lot of money in it, and usually people don't think to cover their tracks well when they do it. I'm going to simplify--If someone damages or destroys property that belongs to someone else, and they do it with the right level of intent, the person whose stuff got wrecked is legally entitled to either the cost of repair or the cost of replacement. If that damaged property is a tree, then you are entitled to the cost of replacement, because generally repair is not an option.

So, okay--a sapling is like a hundred bucks at home depot, no big, right? I cut down your walnut tree, I buy you a new sapling, no problem.

Wrong! You're entitled to the cost to replace your tree with another one of the same age and size. Not just a sapling--if I cut down your 150 year old walnut tree, you're entitled to have me pay for what it would cost to transplant you a new 150 year old walnut tree. And not just the costs of the tree itself, the labor and equipment to do so! It very rapidly adds up to staggering amounts of money.

So yeah. Lawyers like tree law, because that's where the money grows.

the wangxian + a-yuan "dads with an adopted son" thing is fine and enjoyable in fanfics honestly but I think we as a fandom are really not utilizing the idea of all of them in unconventional familial structures enough. Like, canonically it wasn't so much that wwx was a-yuan's guardian as that a-yuan was being raised collectively by the wens and wwx was adopted INTO the larger wen family. And lwj got attached to him through that. A-yuan just has these very attached weird uncles/older cousin figures that aren't related to him by blood at all but keep sticking around.

Just think of a modern AU with a lot less death where lwj does as he does in canon and keeps showering a-yuan in gifts as much as he can and when wwx is like "aiyah lan zhan you're gonna spoil him. Not everyone is as rich as you! What's his family supposed to say if they can't buy him all the stuff you do?" lwj just goes "Hm". And from then on out every year once a-yuan's birthday is near the extended Wen family members (well. the ones that are invited that is. No one wants wen chao at a birthday party) wakes up to a wechat payment from lwj.

Roisia LOVES children. Children are the last thing on her List to be... acquired??? When crafting her List, she thought she wanted 3-5, but by the end of Act I, she wants about 10-15 additional, largely tiefling children.

She was endeared in particular to Doni, Mirkon, Silfy, and Mattis in Act I and with Ide and Umi in Act II. She took in Yenna without question.

sometimes, when you're in the right mood, you find it comforting to know you're not all alone out in the middle of nowhere. it's not like you can tell your friends and family any details of this. you'll sound downright insane.

you learn to deal with the strong scent of his cologne or the creak of his footsteps (which you only hear because he wants you to, of course).

and—naturally—the feeling of large hands smoothing along your spine, down to your hips, a thumb strumming your lips. possessively, right as sleep engulfs you. the first few times you chalk it up to an erotic fantasy that only surfaces when you're exhausted and bordering on delirium.

however, it proves difficult to rationalize the voice. especially when he knows your name.

anyways i genuinely and deeply believe that seb is one of the best, well-rounded, most talented racing drivers currently active and i think no matter where he was racing, he'd adapt within less than one season. he's incredibly versatile, everyone who has worked with him praises his quick understanding, intelligence and detailed feedback. he's a genius on track and seizes every opportunity he can and any team across all of motorsport recognizes his talent. so many other drivers know him to be courteous and friendly and so many racing series want to win him (and the fanbase and recognition that comes with him) to drive for them. It's clear that once a team is genuinely happy to have him and listens to him, he's a major force that very few other drivers could come up against.

Y’know every time I see the turtle tots playing with their original weapons I’m always flabbergasted that Splinter let Leo have a literal sword as a small child.

And then left him unsupervised with it.

Like, at least the others had blunt weapons (though still dangerous in their own right, especially Raph’s blunt tipped sais) but Leo’s katana are so easily lethal that it’s a miracle he seemed to be a natural with them. Because, if he wasn’t a natural then…oof.

It’s at least a good thing he only got one sword at first and not his usual two. Splinter would’ve needed to count his lucky days because OOF.
