Hi anon, I'm guessing you're someone I know because I don't have many followers and not many people usually interact with my posts, so I'm a bit disappointed you're hiding behind anon to insult me over a random pretty insignificant comment on some post. Basically what I am saying is that it's normal to sometimes find things about your friends' lives not that interesting and it doesn't make you evil or bad and it's not something you should feel guilty about. It's not a condition of friendship that you have to be wildly interested in everything everyone you know is doing and talking about all the time. That doesn't make you a bad person and it doesn't mean you hate your friends or even that you hate their music taste, or babies, or whatever.

I wrote a much longer response to this but actually it doesn't deserve that level of engagement because it is common sense. The original post made a ridiculous equivalence between hating Spotify Wrapped posts and being a bad friend. I have a friend who is constantly posting about formula 1 which I find immensely boring. Does this mean I hate this person or think they should stop caring about formula 1? Obviously fucking not. And this is the level Spotify Wrapped is on, btw, not the level of trauma and dreams or even baby pictures. I only used baby pictures because it's a common stereotype everyone would recognise of the friend that is constantly updating people on everything their children do and it's annoying. I don't actually have a problem with baby pictures. But the basic point stands.

It really pains me to see lots of ships going into obscurity. No one is writing anything new for them, or if they are, then it is all sad endings and heartbreak. I do my part, I read and comment on the older works, I try to write for the ships I can, but at the end of the day it's only me and probably 5 other strangers left on that boat. It's a heavy feeling. Sometimes I wish I had been there when it was at its prime, what it would had been like to experience the passion at its peak. But then I think witnessing it would had made me more gloomy to see them rust.

Anyway, it is what it is. Just a lament on the state of life.
