favorite thing about them: I love how much of a jock she is honestly. Like this is network television so every female character is pretty traditionally feminine but sara is a *little* less so?

least favorite thing about them: the stans who act like this is the sara show starring sara and no one else

favorite line: any time she goes into team mom mode and has to yell at the legends it’s always hilarious

brOTP: sara and mick! i feel like they really just get each other and they also have the exact same taste in women which is hilarious

OTP: i mean i guess avalance since they’re canon but i absolutely ADORE sara/kendra

nOTP: i am not the biggest fan of c*ptain canary. I just never thought they had much chemistry romantically.

random headcanon: i just queued a gifset of ADHD sara which i HEAVILY fuck with, and @sophiainspace wrote a fic where she has bipolar disorder and i honestly really vibe with that as well

unpopular opinion: sara is great but let’s not focus on her to the exclusion of other queer characters on the show, especially queer characters of color

Least Favorite character: There’s the villains with no redeeming qualities (read: Aarfy), but I’m not exasperated/angry when they’re onscreen. I’ve experienced media like that so often that I’m grateful for my least favorites

An unpopular opinion: The chaplain sucks. I know I go on and on about how perfect he is but he’s kind of terrible and I love it

Most Epic Villain: Catch-22

Pairing I am not a fan of: Anything morally repugnant (a lot of these people are kids and every day I thank god I don’t have to see discourse on like. How old Snowden was)

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Everyone including Heller has screwed up all of the characters at one time or another, but in text Nately’s girl gets the weirdest ratio of ‘serving the story’ vs ‘getting to be a person’ (not even the worst- just the weirdest)

Favourite Friendship: Yossarian and Dunbar, but also Duckett and Cramer, and Havermeyer and Appleby, and Daneeka and Halfoat-

Character I most identify with: Probably the majors unfortch

Character I wish I could be: None. Absolutely not.

When I started shipping them: I’m not sure; I remember very jokingly being like ‘oh haha they like each other’ when we get to the line about how Yossarian is the only person Milo has ever trusted, and then halfway through the book it was just …please say sike

My thoughts: We are like a sentence away from having a 15-page google doc for every conversation/post about these two. I like that Yossarian’s very selfish way of wanting to help people extends so perfectly to Milo, and that Milo feels the same way about him. It’s kind of that beauty and the beast dynamic everyone’s into? …except instead of one of them being beauty thinking she can fix things through hard work and patience they’re both frantically fucking around being awful

What makes me happy about them: I really enjoy the conversations they have. They run the gamut from ‘talking with Work Friend at work when there’s no one else around and you’re bored’ to ‘talking with Real Friend at 3 am when you’re more vulnerable than you’ve ever been in your life’

What makes me sad about them: They bring out the worst in each other and then think they deserve it

Things done in fanfic that annoy me (best section because this stuff literally doesn’t exist so I get to speculate): Romanticization and mischaracterization

Things I look for in fanfic: That they be on equal playing fields. Power imbalance in terms of like, one of the characters always having more information than the other and/or complete binding control of a situation isn’t fun or cute or interesting (though I know it’s hugely popular.) On paper Milo’s in a position of control, but Yossarian knows exactly what he’s doing and has his own advantages. They’re both very smart and very stupid I love to see the banter

My wishlist: Someone write fic we’re all bored

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: This whole ask is great because like yes of course I ‘ship them, is the sky blue, but I also don’t want them anywhere near each other.

My happily ever after for them: I can’t imagine a scenario where they’re able to both compromise and be happy without drastically changing their personalities. Both too headstrong for that :-\

Dunbar

How I feel about this character: One of the best; fondness for him only grows with time I promise

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Yossarian, Clevinger

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Nately, Yossarian, Clevinger

My unpopular opinion about this character: Apparently his being a main character and key player throughout the entire 500+ page book is controversial

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Wish Joseph had gotten his shit together and written that spinoff

Favorite friendship for this character: The chaplain oh my god! Every time I re-remember they’re friends I’m just :’-)

Danby

How I feel about this character: I like him

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: I think Danby might be the most sexless being on Pianosa

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Literally anyone he’s like their weird uncle (’what do enlisted men like? A book of matches? Or a shaving kit? A copy of my birth certificate?’)

My unpopular opinion about this character: I don’t know that this is unpopular but movie Danby owns and always will

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: This is one of those things I’m glad wasn’t included in the book outright, but would love to see him interact with Major Major

Favorite friendship for this character: Pretty sure Danby doesn’t have real friends (at least not until after Yossarian leaves), but his relationship with Korn and Cathcart is perfect

Wintergreen

How I feel about this character: Maybe the most human of the villains and morally-grey characters; he’s like one of those people who was a business major but with eight minors in a bunch of weird shit. Someone could tell me he was a witch and I would believe them

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Only Milo and him can handle each other

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: His relationship with Yossarian is so fucking funny I can’t even be mad

My unpopular opinion about this character: I want him in more scenes

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Interaction with Daneeka oddly enough? I’d really like to see how that would play out. Also Whitcomb

Favorite friendship for this character: Hmm lots of options and so few of them explored.. Towser seems a good candidate
