The things I loved/liked:

Ajas characterisation. I know a lot of people hated it in this movie but it wasn't the worst. She acted like a leader trying to protect two worlds of people, and that's entirely fair tbh. I didn't like how she doubted Jim but as she didn't know him that well especially as neither of them remember the events of d'aja vu it was kinda understandable. And I agreed that they did need a contingency evacuation plan

Krel. He was consistently good in this movie as usual but didn't get enough time to shine individually, same goes for blinky and aarrrgghh

Stricklake getting married was cute, however I didn't like how Barbara was used as a mouthpiece to mediate all of Jim's relationships with the older men in his life, i.e. when her and Jim talked it was either about strickler or James SR. and honestly that's just a disservice to Barbara's own character (and makes me realize that I doubt this movie passes the bechdel test)

The things I disliked:

Eli basically doing nothing all movie and being useless

Having Eli come back after a glow up for the sole purpose of having a moment where Steve is jealous and distrusting of his girlfriend. Actually no this can go in the hate category too ❤️

Jim saying 'i always wondered about dad' to his mom. The only reason this isn't in the hate category is bc it meant we actually spent time on the relationship between Jim and Barbara which is something that was sorely lacking in wizards tbh, and something that really made trollhunters shine. But what happened to 1x17's 'you know I don't care about my father'? Like what is this bfr

Toby being used as comic relief didn't bother me in this as much as in wizards cuz at least he got that important moment at the end but him saying 'moral support is the lamest superpower' what happened to the Toby that cherished supporting his friends and knew that his support was the greatest gift he could give to Jim and Claire just as their support was his greatest gift. Cuz that seemed like a key factor in earlier seasons imo. Also what happened to the Toby that started becoming confident in his abilities in earlier seasons of trollhunters?

This shouldn't matter to me so much, but why when Jim went back into the past, did he wake up at 8.00 instead of 6.00? You could claim it was because it was cuz he was disoriented, but the time of his alarm should never have changed. If I remember that it said 6.00 on the alarm, and I haven't watched the first episode since probably 2018, the screenwriters should've too. It's just lazy. Or maybe it's symbolic of the fact that Jim only used to wake up at 6.00 to make his mom breakfast and all of them lunch, something which was a key part of his characterisation and clearly showed how much he cared for and loved the people around him - something which is very obviously no longer a part of his character since he allowed Steve to bully Eli and manipulated Toby into becoming the trollhunter. But idk. You choose

Nomura's characterisation?? First of all she just seemed ooc, like a stereotype version of herself for some reason. Secondly, her death. She died. In the sun. She's a changeling. The sloppiness of the writing team in keeping their facts straight is fucking astounding.

Stricklers death. Just for shock value and a play on emotions cuz it contributed nothing to the story. Same with nomuras. All it showed me is that the writing team were sitting around a table and someone goes 'you know we should kill off a few characters early on in the movie just to show this is a serious level threat'.

Pregnancy being used as a fucking joke. I wouldn't have necessarily minded the mpreg concept happening but the execution was just. Ugh. Steve being pregnant was treated as a joke and gross and just something to fill in time as comic relief, rather than what pregnancy actually is which is fucking hard work. It just seems like another extended misogyny-as-comic-relief trope again and Steve's character and everything was thrown down the drain

Toby Jim and Claire not having a group moment together. There was a scene somewhere in the movie where Claire was comforting Jim and I was wishing Toby was there too. If they're going to play the moral support joke with him at least have him be there when morals are at the lowest

Toby being stuck to the van. The treatment of his character in general throughout the last half of the franchise, he should've been given proper development as a character since trollhunters ended but fuck that I guess

Getting human Jim back was WASTED. Utterly wasted on this poor excuse for a movie. The peak of Jim's character arc was accepting himself in every form even when his humanity was stolen from him. The 'am I a hero without the amulet' in this and even the corruption storyline in wizards were both forced, particularly the former, as we'd already gone through that part of his arc in s2 (and it was one of the best arcs this franchise has produced frankly). It was really really apparent they couldn't think of anywhere to go with his character but still wanted to use him bc he remained the most popular. Fanfiction writers can and have done better. Fuck this movie

The lack of emotional maturity and depth between a lot of the characters honestly?? I really don't know how to explain this other than anytime this movie paused to have an emotional conversation or moment between two characters it seemed hollow and worthless because none of them were going through true important character arcs

I couldn't bring myself to make Sirius fully mean (sorry, I'm a Sirius simp) but it's a very angsty situation, so I hope you like it Warnings: Sirius is an asshole, drunk, and high and this is super angsty

"So, that's it then?" you asked, trying your best to not let your voice shake. You wouldn't give him the satisfaction. There was no way you'll let him know how much he broke you.

"I don't know what to tell you, dove" he laughed. He had the audacity to laugh at you. "It was fun while it lasted" he shrugged.

"You're lying" you said in barely a whisper.

"I am?" he chuckled.

You knew he was. For the past weeks, Sirius had been pulling away from you. It started with small things, he made up excuses that he didn't have time to be with you. It escalated when you noticed and heard everywhere that he started partying again. Heavily partying. And not with his friends. And now, here you found him at yet another party in Gryffindor and you were now in his dorm arguing because you found somebody else's bra on his bed, and he didn't even try to hide it. You knew he was trying to make it look like he cheated on you. But you knew he wouldn't do that. You knew something was wrong and he was hiding it from you. And from his friends.

"Sirius, what is going on?" you asked, trying to walk closer to him again but he took a step back.

"Nothing's going on, I don't want to be with you anymore! Can't you get that through your fucking stupid head?" he snapped, glaring at you.

This wasn't him. This wasn't your Sirius. He seemed haunted and broken and you wanted your boyfriend back. But he didn't seem to want to be back.

"Hey" you heard Remus coming in with James and Peter behind him. "Is everything okay?"

"We can hear you guys from downstairs" James told you.

"What's going on?" Peter asked, confused.

"Why don't you ask your stupid friend?" you said, feeling your eyes tear up a little.

"Nothing's going on. She's just making a stupid drama out of it, like usual" he said. "We're done" he said, starting to walk out of his dorm but his friends stood there.

"Done? What do you mean done?" James asked, confused.

"Oh, for fucks sake! Can you just leave me the fuck alone and stay out of my fucking business?" Sirius yelled at them.

"Sirius, we're just worried about you and we want to understand-"

"There is nothing else to understand!" he yelled at you. He had never yelled at you. "I don't want to be with you anymore, okay? We're done! I fucked someone else, for fucks sake! I don't-!" he stopped and for a second, you saw the old Sirius back but it was gone just as quickly. "I don't love you anymore!" he said, feeling his entire heart shatter at the look on your face. It was done. He had broken you and now you will stay away from him. And you will be safe.

"You don't mean that" you whispered, trying one last time, but he had made up his mind. He composed himself and laughed one more time.

"You don't belong anywhere near me, you mud-"

"Hey!" James was about to throw himself at Sirius but you were quicker by slapping him and you pushed him away.

"You are a fucking coward!" you said as tears streamed down your face and you left the dorm. James and Peter glared at their friend before they followed you but Remus stayed behind.

"Is this really how you wanted things to end? Did you really have to break her like that?" he snapped.

Sirius looked at his best friend before choking down the drink in his hand.

"Yes" was the only thing he said before he left the dorm and went back to the party.

Yknow I feel like I should have a main post where I share my Milgram opinions/verdicts (thought of this bc i was writing my sister's opinion on the milgram characters). So I'll go character by character.

Haruka: I relate to him a bit (shitty mother, intrusive homicidal thoughts, neurodivergence). I def feel bad for him but hes still really guilty in my mind. I just think the whole killing for attention thing is a really dangerous mindset you can't just get out of, especially if you're being told you're not in the wrong. And it definitely seems like he doesn't actually feel bad for the girl he killed, just feels bad because people are mad at him for it. Idk. But I enjoy his dynamic with Muu a lot, even tho its toxic i just think its really interesting. But I wish him the best and he deserves a hug. His songs are mid tho (/hj i like them)

Yuno: I love her personality and I think shes so fun, but I honestly don't think about her a lot compared to the others. But I love her and specifically enjoy her dynamics with (obv mostly in fan content) Kazui, Mahiru and Fuuta. Her and Fuuta are such a good platonic ship (romantic is fun too). Innocent vote, obv. I like her songs, but Tear Drop moreso than Umbilical.

Fuuta: Oh my god I wonder what I think of him. In all seriousness he's a major hyperfixation of mine at like every given moment. I adore him and i think he deserves better and to be innocent. Like he feels so guilty for what he did and he didn't know any better, everyone around him was encouraging his behavior and praising him for it. But then it got too far and all his friends abandoned him and blamed him like. Poor fuuta :( and he's like 100% right when he says him and es are exactly the same. On another note, major fan of 0309 (romantically, but either way works), and also love his dynamic with Haruka, Yuno, Mahiru, Amane and Es. His songs are both in my top three (backdraft being #1)

Muu: Tied for my fav character(? Fuuta might beat her idk) I love her personality and vibe and everything just ❤️❤️ queen shit. And her queen bee design is gorgeous. Typically my favs are men but shes one of the first women ive hyperfixated on this much. Again, love her dynamic with Haruka, not from a like. healthy relationships could make the characters better standpoint, but from a story perspective its interesting. But yeah guilty. As for her songs, INMF is my #2 and i like After Pain

Shidou: Honestly I used to be kinda indifferent about him and just found him to be boring but then I rewatched his voice dramas and read some fics and I like him more now. I feel really bad for him bc he went through a really shitty situation which he felt he had the power to change and was stuck in a shitty moral dilemma bc of it. And in the end he did shitty things to save those he loved and it didn't even matter. He feels so guilty and doesn't deserve it. Innocent <3. Also romantic 0507 ftw (0506 is cool too). Him and Amane are silly too. As for his songs i like them, but they're not my fav

Mahiru: i like her, but im not too like. invested in her ig. But i feel bad for her :( she just wants to feel love and like. clearly she did something wrong but she didn't know she was. She never intended to hurt anyone. So innocent. Unless we find out she like. did something really fucking bad then maybe guilty. But in I Love You it implies it was a mutual toxicity so it probably wasn't something super terrible? But anyway. I love her with like all the characters cuz shes just so fun to see interact w others, but specifically with Yuno, Fuuta, Shidou, Amane and Mikoto.

Kazui: Hes so fun i love him. Like all he wants is to be honest and be himself but he feels pressured to lie and then finally he tells the truth and his wife fucking kills herself like- jeez- poor guy. Like following the gay theory, i get why she mightve done it (imagine being told the romance you built your entire life around for like 20 years was all a lie, and that your husband never actually loved you and just pretended to and every time you kissed or something he was just pretending like. that sucks poor hinako) but its so awful that he had to go thru that. But anyway innocent, kazui come out we accept you. And stan 0507. Song wise cat is easily #4 but. half is ok ig

Amane: Yknow i love amane but I also hate her and i think part of that might be the fandom? idk. I feel sorry for her bc she grew up in such a shitty situation but also i think shes beyond the point where we can uninstill those ideologies. Like shes 12, not 5. And amane says it herself that she has as much of a free will as everyone else and that her decision to kill/stay in this environment should be valued. Not that i think she should remain in this abusive situation, but she's not just some innocent kid whose being manipulated, she knows what she's doing. Hence, guilty. I don't think either vote will change her or anything so im voting with my honest opinion. As for dynamics, i love seeing her interact with all the other prisoners, but especially Shidou and Fuuta.

Mikoto: I love mikoto a lot but im so on the fence about his verdict. Ive been voting him innocent but theres still a part of me thats like. debating it. Bc he shouldn't have to be punished for John's actions, and it sucks that that's the situation hes in, but its that or more murders are left to occur. The main reason i say innocent is under the idea that John could go dormant or just stop fronting as much if we reduce mikoto's stress (like he says will happen i think). But hes so complex and fun i love mikoto. Specifically i love romantic 0309 but also his dynamic w the smoking group and mahiru. Also i love his songs.

Kotoko: I love her but also fuck her for hurting fuuta (and mahiru too but mainly fuuta). She annoys me bc she was so quick to almost murder several people based on a preliminary verdict that was made using little information. Like she knew this wasn't a concrete verdict, but attacked them anyway. I get her ideology of "kill people who evade justice to protect the weak" but only when they've actually done bad things (ie. the guy kidnapping the little girl). But when she doesn't know what they did and knows the person accusing them doesn't either???? Like bruh. But i like her character shes fun. I like seeing how she interacts with es and everyone she attacked. And songs, harrow is okay and i really like deep cover.

My big problem with the ending is that the story had the characters like. At least a few times discuss how they could totally still be friends even after the adventure was over. And like, I understand there’s a metaphor going on about how your life changes and you don’t stay as close to people as you think you might, but like�� it kinda comes in out of nowhere in the last two or three episodes. And on top of that, Anne losing Sprig ENTIRELY and then the dialogue implying she, Sasha and Marcy all drifted apart until that reunion just felt overly sad. Puts a lot more ‘bitter’ than sweet in that bittersweet ending than they meant to, I think.

like, people keep telling me im missing the point of an ending that was obvious since episode one and i just disagree so much. where in the world of episode 1 did we see that anne was going to fight the moon, die, meet god and be offered to become god? what the fuck. i keep saying this ending could only work if the stakes weren't so high and the girls didn't spend as much time in amphibia. for anne to separate from the plantars permanently just because "people in life come and go and it hurts but oh well thats life" is so... devastating. like, imagine not being able to see or talk to your family EVER again. because hey thats what lifes like.

"but vinnie they'll obviously see each other again!!!" if u keep saying this, then u just disliked the ending as much as i did and ur in denial lmao. we can make all the hcs we want, they can add all the fix-it they want to marcy's journal (context: matt braly implied marcy's journal could include terri and mr x giving the girls "a surprise" in the timeskip) but yknow the damage is done. the ending is there and it tells you that the plantars and anne say goodbye forever and thats how it is. at least accept it.

"its been set up since ep 1" i completely disagree. season 1 in its entirety is about anne learning to love wartwood. sure it makes sense if u just watch ep 1 because anne is desperate to get home but um, the point is that anne comes to love wartwood and its people and becomes a part of the plantar family. how is that ending an ep1 set up? well, wheres the WHOLE SHOW set up? it makes no sense.

and even for the trio, i understand the growing apart thing but man, after what they went through wouldnt they be bonded for life, having been the only ones to have ever experienced this same trauma, and be closer than ever? especially with the portal permanently gone. id totally be behind it if the portal was open, cuz anne sasha and marcy choose their new amphibian friends over each other to spend time with and eventually come together again as teens, but still close all together bc i cant stress it enough. you dont just grow apart from someone u fought the moon with.

amphibia was already their time apart yknow. again, if the stakes were lower id get it and it'd work. but u cannot have these 3 go through all they did and then try to apply a Down To Earth realistic ending. i dont get it.

like, ur telling me marcy had to move away and she did it happily after being stabbed, comatosed, posessed, etc? sasha and anne stop talking in hs after anne had held onto sasha's arm for dear life before she lets go to her possible death, after they both leaded a fucking army together for a WAR AT 13 YEARS OLD? they just...move on? with a smile? sure it works if you say it does. but if you look it from a writing perspective its just weird, incomplete, lousy. no drama.

everything happens and we dont talk about it. everyone's just freaking happy ig.

2. we get to see anne reunite with her parents back home

3. in the 10 year timeskip, we get an open ended situation with the trio opening a portal and its up to interpretation if this is the first time theyve done it or not.

thats it. i still wouldnt be a fan, i think anne deserves to grow up being able to see her family, but i think if they wanted that ending that badly they shouldve at least added those things. idk.

BASICALLY: i get what they were trying to do. it just does not work with the kind of epic high stakes story they've decided to write.

No hate or anything, but since mina is japanese and not of korean blood, and while you also listed her as chan's half sister (which chan is full korean ethnicity wise and korean-aussie nationality wise), it comes off as a little weird. Chanel is a very unique character with her personality and her family! At first she was only gonna be Viet-Aussie but I kept on changing Chanel wether it was from her fc to her nationality/ethnicity. I made her Korean even though mina has no Korean blood because Chan however does have Korean blood and was also born there but raised in Australia. Idk if I've said this one her profile or anywhere else before but she's Korean because she has Korean blood and was born there (the Korean blood comes from her/chan's mother) and the thing is her backstory is rhat her mother and father met in Korea (before her + chan's birth) in high-school and even had a relationship with each other until in college they broke up cuz she cheated on him with Jack (Chan's father). Years later during 1997 Jessica (Chan's/Chanel's mother) is already pregnant with Chan (and she doesn't know) but Jessica and Her Father meet again in Korea while he was on vacation there and then they...yk (I heard u can actually get pregnant with twins by different fathers if u have...yk while ur pregnant) and then after that Chan + Chanel were born and yeah! And then ofc later Hanni was born by her mother bur Chanel's father which makes all 3 of them Half siblings.

I chose Mina as her fc because at first I didn't know what I wanted for Chanel and didn't plan anything out for her yet at the time but I saw Mina and was like "She's an underrated faceclaim plus she's pretty and gives off a elegant vibe." (The vibe I kinda wanted Chanel to give off at the time) I knew Mina is Japanese but just ignored it at the time and hoped nobody gave me problems with it!! (Whoch btw u haven't its just a question!) And I knew this question would come some day but didn't expect it to come this quickly. But yeah! I completely understand your point. I've never watched Friends, but I have a general context, haha. However, I truly get what you mean! I always think that HG is a "POVs story," where almost everything is very "grey," depending a lot on how the character sees the events unfold. Like, haha, Levi has a much less "grey POV" about his actions. In my mind, Levi thought that the moment Erwin didn't prioritize Twiggy's safety, she was single for him. He could have "understood" a lot of stuff—each couple is a world of its own, and so on—but for him, the safety of those he loves is "above" any other nicety.

So in Levi's eyes, the relationship basically didn't exist even before the cheating, lmao. He says it in his first POV, "if he wasn't scared of losing her, then she wasn't important to him. That relationship was doomed even before I showed up."

If you ask me, the relationship would have been over for me the moment you introduced me as your assistant, LMAO. In that second, I'm picking up my stuff and telling you we are done.

OMG, I'm so happy you like Linda! Writing Linda is my favorite. She's such a badass. The mere mental image of her seeing Marie coming inside the hospital and running through people in high heels to listen to the doctor's appointment is so professionally wrong but iconic. I think Levi and Linda have a very weird relationship because both are extremely honest and fearless, but Linda has a way less charitable character. She lacks a lot of social awareness. Levi's favorite friend of Twiggy is Nifa, and it's clearly seen, but he can't help but chuckle sometimes with Linda. That girl is wild, and Levi kinda enjoys her comments. I imagine her saying, "No, I don't go to church, dear. You have to kneel to pray, and I don't kneel to anyone, not even to give a blowjob." and Levi can't help but chuckle. The girl has more guts than the entire MP formation together, and Levi supports that. Plus, Linda never fails to deliver the juiciest gossip from MPs, and how could Levi not love that?

But Linda does certain things just to bother Levi, like giving him one kiss on each cheek each time they meet, staining with lipstick because he hates it. Linda is that friend who would get 100% canceled on Twitter if people heard what she says, but she's also that friend who's got your back even if you murdered someone.

As far as them together: I love the power play (sexually, politically, within the relationship), the snark, and secret soft side only for each other. The masterminding. The vibe of "you mother fucker why are you hurt again, I'm the only one who's allowed to do that anymore and you know I make it fun for you".

My top 3 favorite things to read in the ship:

One of them is hurt, the other goes feral protecting them. (If I had to pick a preference it's hurt Az, protective Eris but I like both)

Relationship reveals to family, especially the inner circle.

The Court Intrigue. Like, politically there is so much to this ship being between two incredibly powerful men from two very different courts.

About Azriel: This man. I love his complexity, I love that he's still a bit of a blank page and we can put so much of our own thoughts into his personification. He's the kind of man that's quiet, but he speaks he slaps. It's either fucking hilarious or deeply profound. Sex wise: POCKET. BLIND. FOLD. You know he's kinky as fuck, and not the vanilla kink either. He goes hard and I love this for him, and especially for Eris (see my fic: 3 Jewels In the Hewn City)

About Eris: He's just so good. He's done so much for his family to protect them, and he plays his role so well. This man is playing the game and he is playing it well. He will change the world for the better once he gets control of it. And he will be a cocky asshole the entire time in the best way. He is unapologetic in my favorite way. He fucks with fire in his veins and he holds nothing back.

I'm convinced their switches in a constant battle for dominance (which Eris almost always wins and Azriel loves that). Here I'll add a tag from one of my own fics: "definitely some dom/sub/brat power play dynamics to be found here" "oh but who will come out on top"

I know you didn't ask for this, but I'm throwing it in here cuz it goes along with my thoughts about this ship: If you couldn't tell by the name of my blog I'm a huge Nesta stan. I HC that she's best friends with both Eris and Azriel, and I love that for her. I'd love to see her play a role in some way.

AO3 tags: look I'm a sucker for fucking unhinged AO3 tags, so typical stuff isn't what grabs my attention. But for these 2, going along with #1 of my top 3 things we have hurt/comfort. I'm also a sucker for a good sic fic. protective!Eris, injured!Az or vice versa are also favored tags for this ship. I'm not sure you can write azris without an angst, childhood trauma, or canon typical violence tag. (like I know that you CAN...and I definitely have...but...) Going along with #2 on my above list, this tag was taken from starsandscritps fic shovel talk "meeting the parents but the parents are the inner circle". Also, I love a mating bond/fated mates tag. I'm such a sucker for fated mates, not just a relationship. But the best fated mates work toward and for a romantic relationship on top of the bond.

Like, let them heal and save each other from other people and/or their inner demons before they break each other all but in a fun, kinky way. Could you do an analysis on the train scene between Hanako and Aoi? I was surprised that Hanako asked Aoi about how her life was like.

A lovely question!! Thanks for asking! I adore Hanako in this scene!! We so rarely get to see Hanako interact with new people... such a treat that him and Aoi get more than a brief intersection. What guarded little beasts they both are.

…. to start, I want to begin on Hanako's circumstantial (and pointed) use of honorifics.

Generally speaking, Hanako refers to others in an exceptionally rude way. He never uses honorifics with anybody, a symbol of himself being fundamentally above them, as 7ban-sama. He refers to Nene as Yashiro. It's neither her given name-- so it's detached/distant, not too friendly-- and it's lacking honorifics, making it overly-familiar. For Kou, he actually avoids even using his name entirely, just calling him 'shounen'. It's even more distant/disrespectful. I would even call it dehumanizing, with Kou-- saying 'you don't even deserve me using your name'. This is the gradient Hanako has for our mains. Hanako always delivers a clear message in how he sees others, by how he refers to them. He is never concerned with consequences of rudeness... because he is 7ban-sama, he is above everyone. THE TYRANT BOY-KING!

In Picture Perfect, while attempting to woo Yashiro, and while acting 'normal'… Hanako switches to the polite 'Yashiro-san', referring to her as another classmate would. (Weirdly enough he doesn't actually extend this courtesy to others? He uses simply Yamabuki and Minamoto for Kou and Lemon…. I guess even as the ~polite~ Amane-kun, he can't help himself but be particular and exclusive.... it's uh, a step-up from 'shounen' though....)

Which is what people like Akane typically call her. Kou uses Yashiro-senpai 'cuz she's older than him…..

Once he breaks character, he switches right back to Yashiro, dropping the 'san'. This is our immediate confirmation he is Hanako, because only Hanako would ever refer to her in this way. A creepy stinger.

....Nene is a normal girl of course, so Hanako is the only friend to have ever called her Yashiro. A familiar friend would call her Nene, or Nene-chan.

… for Aoi, Hanako uses "Aoi-chan", which is cutesy, but in the context of what he's saying, what he's doing, and the control he has over her… it has a sortof condescending, demeaning, feeling to it. He's using an affectionate, childish honorific. For Yashiro, while telling her about his crimes, he is using it to be intentionally upsetting-- the contrast of this cute honorific with what he is saying.

….. so what is the general vibe of him using it, here? How does it feel for Aoi?

My Amane has a nice post about Hanako's upsetting grin, which is as on-blast in this scene as it is in any where he's being knowingly creepy.

…… it's worth it for this scene as well to reflect on, that in the previous encounter between these two, Aoi threw Hanako and Nene into the well. This is the last Hanako she saw.

…..so I think Hanako's 'friendly' behavior in this scene, playing cordial, guiding her, using a diminutive honorific, is meant as a kind of power display, as well as a kind of "I'm the mature one here. Silly thing who acted out…. but you're just a little girl, after all, and I am 7ban-sama." He is acting as Aoi's warden. Simply seeing one another again after the dramatic departure… you can see how Hanako's behavior is pretty jovial. Hey girl, you didn't do shit to me, actually.

"I'm such a good sport about that shit you pulled. Now I'll politely shepherd you to the Far Shore, where you belong. Tsk tsk." By not being at all aggressive, or agitated with her, or even quiet and ominous, he actually asserts more power and confidence. He can diminish her outburst into a small, meaningless brief inconvenience, like a kid acting out. "Here I am again… what good was all that acting out? Ah, nothing, but that's okay....." using 'Aoi-chan' helps further this feeling.

… I think as Aoi is Nene's friend…. he's got his own modest curiosity about her. Why not take this opportunity to finally talk to Yashiro's friend, someone who Hanako could never communicate with, before? While I'm here, making sure you make it to the slaughterhouse....

I think he expects her to simply go on about her regrets or life-- which he would not cherish personally, but would feel is a kindness to offer her in these final moments (makes him both look good and positions her as the pitiable one), and perhaps he could gain something out of this being Yashiro's little friend. Learn a little something about Yashiro's life. Watch a girl cry. Feel appropriately like a monster, because he is one, and he 'doesn't care'. Hanako is emotionally detached from the situation enough to be able to entertain conversation, and take in whatever Aoi feels or says. After all, Hanako is pretty pleased when people threaten him, call him out, or are upset with him. He enjoys when being a kaii creates a distance between himself and others, when he gets to be the indifferent spectator to the living's pitiable troubles. Feeling that comfortable distance and perhaps disdain emanating from humans…. it matches with his self-image and self-hatred. It matches with his sense of isolation, which is comforting to him-- a person who is nothing but upset by his own emotions of love, his own humanity. A person who has given up on his 'humanity', who refuses to see himself as 'human'. To Hanako....It's the correct way to feel about him. He's happy to invite Aoi to spill at him, whether the results are her being resentful, angry….. or sad, miserable… or listless, dreary…. I think Hanako would be satisfied either way, and feels he has nothing at all to dread from inviting Aoi to talk.

…but all things considered, Hanako and Aoi are oddly similar individuals in their detachment, misanthropy, and habit of looking down on others around them. They are both perpetual liars, too… even to Nene specifically! And even specifically, to their respective beloveds, of course. This dynamic is so fascinating-- and Hanako himself is continuously caught off-guard by Aoi, who exudes a carefree facade-grin that rivals his own. If he's expecting a clear delineation between himself as a Godlike all-powerful kaii and the measly mortal Aoi…. he will not find it. … for this whole scene, Aoi is correctly reading Hanako, seeing herself in him. His cheery facade, his polite front, his lack of expressing true feelings….. Aoi is perfectly familiar with Hanako's cadence, and what he is doing. Godbless her, she turns this around on him, and pinpoints his weakspot with precision. She already knows him and Yashiro's silly little will-they-won't-they dance. Hanako is funny to her, and she doesn't see him as the indomitable inhuman kaii Hanako would like to be seen as…..

taste of your own medicine, boy!!!!

I'm sure those final glances Hanako shot to Aoi in the well told her everything, about his possessiveness of Yashiro, his similarity to Akane in some way….. ah, this protective guy. Clearly loves Nene... but hasn't told her so.

Hanako went into this, I think, hoping to get to feel like a little alien, get to voyueristically watch a human go through the emotions he ~knows all too well and has observed with indifference for decades....

... but just gets a humbling moment of being related to.... the general series thesis to disprove Hanako's belief systems regarding himself (and kaii+human's being meaningfully different in their nature at all!) is really strong, in this scene. Hanako will not be rewarded with comfortable distance. This stupid little power-display doesn't go how he assumed. He will instead be humbled and have a moment of sincere relatability with this normal human girl who struggles with love and sincerity. So cute, isn't it? The imposing 7ban-sama is no different from a humble emotionally stunted high-school girl with a childhood crush she can't confront.... he had such a hubris starting this conversation! He didn't expect Aoi to be able to move him, or want to relate to him.

...... and with that all out of the way, let's just appreciate this difficult fussy little Amane.... ♥

the epitome of emotionally constipated 13 year old.... such a normal boy. He likes to think of himself as different from the living... different from the Amane he was in life.... but that boy couldn't even tell his own twin brother I love you. As in life, so in death.... ah, Amane.... ♥

i tend to build little mini backstories for bfdi characters to the point where i think they're canon plus i have a lot of headcanons and interpretations of leafy so bear with me (tl;dr: flower and leafy are childhood best friends who drifted apart)

okay so i'd like to think that leafy didn't really have any friends aside from one or two. she was just a forgettable little leaf. then one day she did something nice for someone like a small favour or something and then that's how she discovered it. the addictive power of being nice.

flower also wanted to find a way to stand out so she decided that way would be her beauty which is why she feels the need to remind everyone of how beautiful she is. she wanted to be praised but more importantly she wanted to be loved.

leafy and flower both just wanted to be seen, noticed, liked. so to do that they both clung to a single small part of them to base their entire self worth on. needless to say it didn't work out too well for either of them

onto the idea that they were best friends. they were both each others' first friends but i think they slowly drifted apart after leafy started to make more friends. since leafy was basing nearly her entire persona on being nice she didn't really want to be seen around someone who... isn't all that nice

sorry if none of this made sense i just wanted to share this idea with you

and tbh some of flowers interactions w leafy like make sense if you look at it w this in mind

I guess I have to be nice to you since we both eat lettuce like a rabbit. So, what about 11, 25, and 28 for Will Byers, Nancy Wheeler, and Jim Hopper

Okay I still haven't finished my homework but I decided not to do the rest cuz I don't want to.

OOOH Quinn the last two are hard ones!! Okay here we go...

The first thing I think about when thinking about the character:

Will- The van scene lol. That scene was earth shattering for me in a way that I cannot properly explain. So. I think of that.

Nancy- I think of her rebellious streak and her defiance. And how she's a badass.

Hopper- I think of him as my comfort character tbh. He just feels safe.

When do you think they acted the most ooc?

Will- Mmmmm. I don't really know. This is very hard. I guess if I have to pick something I'd say lying to Mike in the van. But I don't mean "out of character" as in a bad writing choice, I literally just mean that was out of character for him to lie to Mike, but obviously given the situation it makes complete sense for his character and the plot, etc.

Nancy- When she didn't even get upset at Jonathan like at all for taking inappropriate photos of her without her consent. I could go on about this entire plotline for hours but I'll just leave it at that. Out of character. In a bad way.

Hopper- Hmmm. I kinda think Hopper's character is flawless? I mean he as a person has flaws obviously but I mean the way his character is written and developed. Umm. Maybe in S3 when he didn't believe when Joyce said it was weird the magnets were falling off her fridge? I kinda expected him to be more concerned about that as soon as it was mentioned. That's not super out of character it's just the best one I could think of.

The most unnecessary thing they ever did:

Will- LOL tell Jonathan he didn't have any friends, that was out of pocket and not necessary.

Nancy- Lead Steve on. Not saying that was her intention but that's what she did, and it was indeed unnecessary. She knew she had feelings for Jonathan when she got back together with Steve and she didn't have to get back together with him. Again I know it's complicated blah blah blah just saying it wasn't necessary.

Hopper- Mmm he went a little overkill on the violence sometimes to the point that it wasn't really necessary but it was appreciated. Love Hopper beating the shit out of people I LOVE it.

My thoughts on Go! Princess Precure:

Ok, so finally finished go princes and i gotta talk about, so i'll try giving my thoughts and feelings on this season here. I tried to talk about it in the most coherent way but i'm not organized soooo...yeah, anyways: my thoughts under the cut

Um, I LOVED THIS SEASON OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. I'll be honest i wasn't feeling super strong feelings about during the first half, BUT the second half made me completely love it, they did so many things with the story and the characters that really surprised me.

Haruka was definetely my favorite character, again i didn't really had any strong feelings about her, but they really surprised me with her arc, especially after eps 38 and 39 is where she became my favorite.

These episodes served as a way to show another side of her (her dyspear and sadness), but also as a way to solidify her motivations and make her remember why she wanted to become a princess in the first place

"Who cares if you have your dream back? It'll only knock you down!" "Then let it!" HELLO??? I was screaming during this entire fight scene and this dialogue.

Now about minami, her arc was also really great, i was already kind of expecting something like that, but the build up to her realizing what her true dream was, was really well done, and it had a satisfying conclusion

Kirara's arc was also fantastic. I love how her episodes showcased her determination in protecting everyone's dreams, but at the same time showed her insecurities and fears over being a model, especially cuz she always showed herself as really confident.

Her final episodes did a great job at showing how she had found a new goal that she wanted to fullfill other than modeling: protecting people's dreams along with her new friends

Also i just like her laidback and friendly personality.

Now towa and kanata, um, they made me cry.

Ok so towa was already a character that i was more invested than anyone when she was first introduced, you know, since she was more involved in the main plot.

I really liked that they gave her an episode to interact with each one of the main girls (even yui). This helped their friendship feel more developed and genuine, also it was fun seeing her trying to fit in earth.

ALSO, another thing that helped to solidify their relationship is how towa understood that minami and kirara had some kind of problems and used the same advice that they both gave her, to help THEM instead, man, it really makes you see how much they care about each other.

Kanata was overall really cool as well, don't really have much to say about him but he's great. I cried when he cried at the end.

Now yui, if i didn't know beforehand, i would've thought that she was going to be the next cure. I love how, despite being a secondary character, she still is part of the group. Also she broke herself out of the cage of dispear and helped every other secondary character do the same so...yeah she's awesome.

The villains were super entartaining as well, i love that they all hated each other lmao.

Ok but, Shut was really funny, i liked that the show itself admitted that he was pretry incompetent as a villain, and they used this fact about him for his redemption (also he punched close in his face which YESSS).

Lock was a little rebel teenager, and i love that about him. I like that he and shut ended together in the end.

Close was definetely the highlight villain, i really wasn't expecting that he'd come back, but honestly i'm glad he did. His final fight with flora was EVERYTHING, and the fact that he just...leaves...on his own??? At first it can seem like an anticlimactic ending, but i worked to showcase the main message of the show: that yes, dreams can make you feel as much happiness and as much dispear, but what's important is to not let the negative feelings consume and prevent you from achieving pursuing them, and since close represents dispear, flora letting him go was definetely the best choice.

Some extra stuff: the mascots were fantastic, aroma is funny, pafu and kuroro are adorable, miss shamour is the best she's everything. The animation and the music were BEAUTIFUL. The side characters were ok for the most part. OH and the transformations and the costumes are fantastic.

Overall it was an AMAZING season, the story was beautiful, the characters were really well developed, it was just...beautiful yeah that's all.

Some thoughts about the special i have never wrote down before i forget:

• i really appreciate the background? There was a shot of another classroom and it really stuck with me because i think this is one of the few if not only other time we see another classroom?

Idk it was a rare sight and it was cool

• Stan's plot. Omg my little poor babyboy Stanley, i loved him in this ep and how incredibly in-character he was, yes, he more than other characters would be hurt by forced loneliness and try to masquarede it projecting it on the ones he considers "weak" (like Butters) before admitting he was the weak one all along, he is scared of change and wants everything to return as it was when he was happier, Peak Stan Marsh Storyline

• I guess this is a minor complain but I really disliked that Kyle didn't hug him when Stan was crying, c'mon Kyle, your SBF has expressed his own deepest pain with more honesty than ever before and you don't even hug him? Is this really the moment of social distancing?

I get that Kyle kinda... didn't do anything here lbr but him doing nothing is worse than being mean to me, Cartman didn't hug him either but at least he was moved enough by his tears to do SOMETHING at least, which leads to...

• Cartman and Randy, specifically them having really similar character arcs, starting as just serving their selfish interests until they realize other people shouldn't suffer for their wishes, with Cartman actually being the more sympathetic out the two, and as we know... this will become a recurring trend for these specials... for the better or worse

Of course both of their attempts are destroyed by Garrison, a really interesting choice tbh, Garrison is very similar to both of them too, but leaning towards Cartman's explicitly ruthless and delusional side while Randy is more.... grounded i guess?

• I have talked about Randy and Jimbo not being siblings anymore, but in this special it makes sense why, Randy is suddently very cruel towards Jimbo, it's like the show forgot they are friends, it would be pretty weird even for Randy to use his brother as guinea pig for his weed covid vaccine; and also cuz, y'know he's trying to make him smoke his cum but whatever

• Nothing to say about her but I liked Sharon in this ep, i'm hust confused if the ending implies she is lying to Randy about smoking weed?

• Stephen and Butters... i really like how pissed off they were all lmao, it's one of those eps that really reminds you they are father and son

Butters is pretty interesting bc... despite the plot revolving around him he doesn't do a lot in this special, he is mostly there to give voice to the audience and complain on how incompetent everyone is, i'm pretty sure in the italian version Butters is the only kid to swear trought the entire to show, not Cartman, not Kenny, BUTTERS.

I think both Stan and the show kinda want to play with your expectations, Stan is right saying that the pandemic is hurting people who cracks down as easily as Butters, but he is not suffering the way he is, Butters is just angry, angry because he keeps being lied to and get denied of the things he thinks he rightfully should have, again a very Butters-like plot

But while everyone is suffering from isolation and the world failing on you and you failing the world as well, this pain is really mostly about Stan, Butters wishing for a bear is pretty cute tho and i hope they got him one later one 👍

Stephen also only appears in minor scenes but I kinda loved him? This is maybe the more openly aggressive he has ever been, there is no moment he isn't repling badly to someone, it's like he's having an even shittier week than the usual, love when in the chatroom scene he suddently calls out Thomas out nowhere because he doesn't want Butters to be near to Craig, which funny enough happens right in the next scene, he does actually knows his sons after all

Also minor note but. Why was Tweek's mom was spying Wendy's mom in the dressing room What was that

And the scene in the town where he just punches and knocks down Wendy's mom out the blue?? Causing the entire town to fight eachother??? He was NOT having him that day, do not cross roads with Stephen Stotch when his son is upsetting him if you don't want trouble lmao

Bakugo Katsuki

Bakugo knows what he has with you isn't normal, but he's so used to having toxic or unconventional relationships with people that he can't quite pinpoint where you're wrong.

However, as you guilt-trip him into staying yet again after he finds out you snooped through his things and checked his phone, he can't help but feel like something is wrong.

But he stays. He stays even if he feels himself flinch and automatically call on his quirk every time you touch him.

He stays even if he knows you're just using him, that you care more about his money and power and future than him.

Bakugo hates you that's for certain.

But he hates Izuku and his mother too, right, but he still loves them in a way so it's probably just the same for you.

He convinces himself that he buys your act every time you get sugary sweet and nice to him, every time you pretend to care about his day and run your fingers through his hair waiting for the opportunity to ramble about your monotonous day.

He doesn't quite understand you, and Bakugo knows that he's going to leave you eventually.

You might think you have him, that one day he'll make you his and drop down on one knee for you, but really, he's just playing along until your lies and fakeness get on his nerves.

He will never say it to your face, but he often thinks of you while training. It gets his quirk working that much more than before.

Overall, Bakugo knows you're a manipulative shit but doesn't care enough to do anything about it for now.

Nanami Kento

You might think you've got Nanami, but really, he's got you.

He knows that you're just using him, or at least trying to. That the appeal of his job (the one that you actually know about) is what actually keeps you with him.

If he's being honest, you would really be better off with someone like Gojo, someone willing to turn a blind eye to your manipulativeness.

But not Nanami, because as much as you might think you have him fooled, he's quick to shut you down and prove otherwise every single time.

He doesn't like it when you touch him, if he's being honest, Nanami can't remember the last time he didn't push you away or ask you to leave him alone the second you so much as laid a finger on him.

Your relationship is barely that, and if Nanami is being honest, he only keeps you around to appease others.

To get his boss and Gojo and every other prying person to stop trying to set him up with someone.

He'll leave you eventually, he knows that. He even has a day on the calendar marked for it.

Nanami isn't cold-hearted, yet somehow, he just can't bring himself to do anything but scoff every time you scream or cry and tell him you hate him.

It's probably because it's all just an act, just like your entire relationship, and that Nanami knows you'll end up apologising and 'fixing' things an hour later.

He honestly thinks you're sort of pathetic.

Baji Keisuke

The only one who would actually fall for your act.

He knows you're wrong and toxic, but you pulled on his heartstrings enough to have him stay nonetheless.

However, don't think you've got Baji for long because he might have the brawns but he also has the brains (outside of academics lol).

He knows what love is. He knows it from his mother and friends. And Baji learnt respect from Toman: both giving and receiving it. So it's safe to say Baji knows you don't feel either of those towards him.

But fear? That one he's certain you feel.

It isn't always present, but after you watched him beat up an entire gang and realised his physical potential you've been warier of him.

When he tells you to stop, you do. When he tells you to drop the act because you're pissing him off, you pretend to be hurt and sniffle but leave anyways.

Baji doesn't love you, he knows that, but he does sort of like you. Or the idea of you.

You might think you have him right where you want, that outside of the occasional lashing out Baji is yours, but really, he's willing to dump you the moment he finds better.

Baji's not the type to cheat, so he stays loyal, but that doesn't mean he's actually committed to you.

A part of him, the one that fell for you in the first place, actually pities you sometimes because of how you need to put on this act and manipulate guys to feel some semblance of protection and power.

However, make no mistake, Baji won't let that part show its face when it's time to leave you.
