One thing I love about mutant mayhem is that Leo has a crush on an April who’s not conventionally attractive. AGAIN THIS IS SET IN MY AU!!! MY AU IS PRETTY DETAILED AND HAS AN OVERARCHING STORYLINE WITH PRE-ESTABLISHED FRIENDSHIPS, SETTINGS, JOBS, CHARACTER ARCS AND WHATNOT....... so :3 yeah.

Tim and Brian probably don't do much. They'll totally grab some chocolates/candy and eat it, but just cuz its there, not as a gift. if they had a partner, they'd just go get some dinner.. flowers, basic stuff. put on an unironed button up and pick their partner up LOL.

toby might do something depending on where he is in the story. early on, he is not doing SHIIIIT. deep into his friendship with nina(who opens up a lot of his emotional vulnerabilities n stuff), he might feel a little inclined to pick up some flowers for some of the girls in his life (nina, clocky, kate, lazari) just cuz he used to do something small for his sister/mom when he was younger (cuz frank never did shit). if he had a partner, he'd def wanna do jewelry and classic flowers. he likes necklaces and rings and piercings and stuff, doesnt wear them much cuz they get in the way, but likes seeing people wear stuff he got. he's the type to make them turn around so he could put the necklace on them, but if they even slightly laugh at him trying to be sweet, he's getting mad HAHA. "ok nevermind im returning this you fucking suck" (jokingly.. but he is embarrassed). would just wanna stay home though, no nights out or anything

clocky would paint stuff. she'd give nina a portrait of herself cuz nina loooves being someone's muse, do some nice art of forest creatures and leave some notes for toby. she'd feel pretty awkward about it just cuz even when she was with her highschool boyfriend, she wasn't good at giving or receiving affection. if she's gifted any flowers (which she will be getting), she's absolutely pressing them and either sealing them in some paintings, or putting it in frames that hold her old art/art she picked up at thrifts. if she had a partner, she'd obviously paint them or something. i could see her spending a long time working through a journal to gift them, making every 3 pages a painting, drawing, or journal entry expressing something. "today you and i went to get lunch. i think the place was way too expensive, but you liked it." and then empty pages for her partner to fill in with whatever they want.

nina. ok come on. lets be serious. its nina. she's gonna buy everyone(as in toby, clocky, kate, jane, liu) one expensive gift (cologne, watches, shoes, jewelry, makeup) and then throw together mini bouquets, notes, and probably shop lift other smaller stuff cuz 'IM BROKE I SPENT TOO MUCH I HAVE TO' LOLLL.. she's the type to literally decorate her house for it, putting up some of clocky's more romantic paintings (cuz she has a collection of clocky's work), setting out heart-shaped coasters, bringing out heart shaped pillows.... honestly she probably already had those.... she'd absolutely plan galentines dinner for her friends, bake cookies, everything. if she had a partner, it would be really similar. she likes to spoil people, gift giving and acts of service are her ways of showing love - buuuut she does want to be spoiled in return, so physical affection and quality time is what she wants to receive. she wants to be treated like a princess, be picked up, have her doors opened for her, told she looks beautiful, etc.

jack is even less likely to do something than toby. before the sacrifice, he'd grab a cheap bag of individually wrapped chocolates and give them to people he knew around campus. i could see him buying the same chocolates and leaving it in his cabin. telling whoever visits him to take some. nina would leave him some flowers too(say its also from toby) and he'd be really grateful, cuz she'd be very sure to get him whatever he thinks smells the nice. that way he can still appreciate it. if he had a partner, YOU KNOW HE'S COOKING THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DINNER AT HOME. he's cleaning up, very awkwardly trying to dress nice. black button up, slacks, slick his hair back(or he'd just do whatever his partner says looks best, not too concerned with his own preference). he'd feel sooo fucking embarrassed and very nervous but he just wants to make it special. he'd write a long love letter, too

jeff isnt doing shit for anyone. he'll go steal some chocolate and mind his own business. if he had a partner, one that he ACTUALLY loved and wanted to keep around. maybe he'd pick up some flowers and chocolate, mainly cuz he knows thats the bare minimum sort of gift. he'd let them demand that day from him, which takes a LOT for him to let anyone feel entitled to HIS time. if he knows they have higher expectations (dinner, a letter, etc) he'd probably bitch and moan and be like "ugh you already know im into you why do i gotta do this shit" but if theyre serious, he'd probably do it. half assed though...

kates also not doing anything unprompted. she wouldnt even know the day is coming around. her only memories of valentines day would be passing out some candy and cards around class in elementary school, but once she was in the forest, nobody gave HER shit. she might pick some flowers and wrap it in some paper for people , but ONLY if she KNOWS they're getting something for her. like, she'd pick nina some flowers cuz she knows ninas doing something regardless, but she wouldnt get toby anything cuz she wouldnt have expected it from him. then shed feel bad. if she had a partner, again it'd be similar. she KNOWS she needs to put in the effort, but she doesnt exactly have the resources... the farm does pay her some cash since she works with the animals, but she mostly just gives it straight to toby so he can buy stuff for the cabin. but she'd keep it this time around, and quietly ask toby if he could come with her to get some stuff for them. some sweets, a necklace, scribble out a little letter. smth sweet.

janes married. and she goes all out of her wife. buys her like a 3dozen bouquet of red roses, sets reservations at nice restaurants, makes mary breakfast the morning of. all of that. i dont even know how to go into detail on this because thats just how it is for her, theres not some turmoil for her to work through. she'd also start getting sally some stuff. plushies holding hearts, balloons, sweet things like that. if she had a partner...WELL SHE ALREADY DOES!!!!

if liu knows nina is going to gift him something expensive, he's doing the same. he's going to grab her flowers and maybe some shoes or something he knows she's had her eye on. he wouldn't be really subtle about it, just text her "whats on your wishlist right now" LOLLL... he just appreciates nina's presence (after they get over the jeff situation) and likes having a little sister to spoil. he'd probably send jane a bouquet of flowers with a thank you note, since jane did a lot for him. if he had a partner, it would also be very stereotypical. date plans, picking them up, flowers, etc. he'd LOOOOVE to make one of those big baskets filled to the brim with random shit. would wanna come home and draw a nice bubble bath and have some wine. stuff like that in general...

Steve having a maddy perez inspired/confident baddie gf! is honestly everything that he could ever want and more! He loves how you don’t care about what others think, would stand up for yourself or anyone that dares to look at anyone within your circle the wrong way, cutting out those that want to bring you down/don’t bring the loving energy to your table, the confidence and sexiness you exude within your fashion (this for sure turns him on, but he doesn’t want to ruin the vibe yknow), he LOVES how you show him off to anyone at anytime and any chance you got (whether it be excessive pda, having jewelry that has an ‘s’ on it, scribbles of a copious amounts of little ‘steve’ in your notebooks with hearts, etc), or the way that you don’t confine yourself to being put inside a box (whether that be being experimental with your makeup or fashion, heck even trying to set the curve and show others that being smart AND sexy is a big win)! Steve wants to make sure that he treats you like the goddess you truly are, but in the lighthearted Steve way, he always always ALWAYS overthinks and doubts himself that he doesn’t deserve you. He’s glad that the two of you didn’t date or associate with each other when he was still “King Steve” cause he’d had a suspicious feeling that it would’ve been toxic to say the least, but that doesn’t stop your boy from thinking from time to time about letting ole’ “King Steve” shine through when other guys would stare at you too long when you’re in a very risqué (but flattering) outfit (or just when people interact with you for too long ifykyk) and just wanting to absolutely beat the living shit out of them, no questions asked.

The times when Steve overthinks and doubts himself, you always knew what was up. You’d comfort him by throwing your hands around his neck and slide your fingers into his luscious hair as he wraps his strong arms around your waist. Looking up at him you’d always reassure him (no matter how many times) that you’re his and his alone, there was no one you’d rather be with then with your Stevie and you didn’t have a sliver of an ounce of care about who or what person (and bitches alike) you’d deck over that even gawks or bats one single eyelash at what’s yours <3 This never fails to put a smile upon his face and making him feel a tad bit more confident with himself that you feel so much over such a guy like him.

He’s glad to know that before the two of you were dating (within the casual talking stages) that you weren’t afraid to tell him that you’ve gained (and still are gaining) a mature level of independence and financial security to support yourself (if it never worked between you and whoever wanted you at the time), Steve laughs to himself as he knows and never doubted you can (he likes to think you’re his sugar mommy cause you knew how to financially set aside money, but also knew when and where to spend your hard earned money on the both of you <3).

Of course, with being such a badass girlfriend, there are things that somewhat “rubbed off” Steve the “wrong way” (he’s learned to not bring it up with you, nor attempt to even “change” the way you are) and that’s how 100% of the time you keep it real and honest. There were times where you’d put your loving boyfriend in his rightful place when you two would bicker and/or when he KNEW you were right about something (this was a quality about you that confused him because he didn’t know whether or not to feverishly make out with you or clench his jaw and take the punches you threw at him cause if he ever interrupted you, oh he was in for a hell of a verbal beating).

The two of y’all’s relationship has always been perceived as “toxic” or “obsessive” within the small town of Hawkins, but that’s just simply NOT the case, everyone knows or wants to always put their two sense into your guys’ relationship and try to make you leave Steve cause apparently you both “deserve better.” Those idiots don’t know that Steve IS and will ALWAYS be what you deserve in a relationship, you two deserve nothing but the best and bringing out the best in each other is all that matters <3

Regardless, Steve couldn’t find anyone better to be his girlfriend then you <3 you fully support him in everything he does, are there to comfort him when he’s having a bad day, always there to give him the best sex of his life (I mean helloooo have you seen yourself babes? By the time you get this you’ll probably already have an idea of where I’m going with it, yet I’ll still write it down.

I cannot deny that you came onto my life in the most unexpected way, not necessarily the best either.

I didn’t like your siblings, and I still don’t. I think of them to be nothing but highly annoying, arrogant, especially your sister who seems to parade herself around Gojo and the privilege she had of knowing him.

Your brother is somewhat… calmer in that aspect, he tends to keep to himself, and I respect that. Everyone should be like that, you know?

But I’m not here to talk about them, of course, I’m here to talk about you.

When I heard that you were going to enroll, I wasn’t thrilled, I genuinely thought great, another nuisance was to grace the school grounds—I already had this preconceived idea of you and was more than ready on keeping it… until I finally I saw you.

I’m sure you’ve heard this a thousand times already, someone like you must’ve undoubtedly… but you are the prettiest girl I have ever seen in my life. Your beauty is so mesmerizing, I couldn’t believe it was real—anyone thinking otherwise is either blind, stupid, or lying. Or maybe all at the same time.

As you can see, Naoya isn’t overtly romantic or good with words (I mean, the slander at the beginning lol) but he tries, as genuinely as possible—his honesty is a virtue to appreciate lol. I'm the one that left the comment on the post critiquing your take on inner dialogue and plurality that mentioned my understanding of how trains of thought would work and why a thought process akin to Kronk's dialogue with his shoulder angel/devil doesn't seem to imply that he's "plural" in my opinion. I don't really agree with your rebuttal, that in that example he'd be plural due to the pronouns they use, how they interact, have their own memories, etc.

My comment was again, my understanding of how some people have mental trains of thought. I think it's important to note that everyone thinks/rationalizes differently. Some without words at all but rather things like the perception of the world around them and emotions. They may not think "that's a beautiful photo, I wonder who took it and when. I wish the lighting was a bit better" with those words but they actively feel those things. However the absence of an inner dialogue doesn't mean someone who processes this way without words can't experience something like DID, if that makes sense. Just as someone with it might use "I" and "me". It was hard for me to understand at first how one could "think" without thinking, but I'm mostly going by my understanding and the experiences of people I know and that was also true in my comment as I know others have thought processes like that (and ppl seemed to agree). Which I know isn't a credible source, just different perspectives I've heard based on how different individuals think and process.

It's also normal to my understanding to not only use first person pronouns but also "we", "you", "us", etc. It doesn't mean you perceive yourself as having more than one identity or are otherwise interacting with a different identity with agency and such. I can't imagine that not being normal. For some, it seems thoughts can alternate between feeling like a monologue and dialogue, particularly if you're facing inner conflict or have multiple thoughts on something. I think factors like neurodevelopmental disorders can play a role in this.

A train of thought might interject while someone with a singular identity is thinking about something or having an inner conflict. Someone may think "I think I want ice cream" and another thought might be like "you should have dinner first" and a third may interject as someone remembers something like "wait remember what our doctor said about lactose?". But those pronouns are kind of interchangeable depending on the person, and the memory of the interaction with their doctor brought forth by a train of thought is still their memory. It didn't come from a third party it's just them whereas in someone with alternate identity states, it would be sourced from an alter that is autonomous at least in some regard. I mean is it not possible for that to just be one person at war with themselves? I won't understand how everyone's mind works but that just seems normal. You're you but your thoughts may offer a perspective you didn't initially consider or reference a memory- your memory

So with Kronk again, the back and forth may seem like a dialogue but the difference is that it's sourced from one identity. Might not seem that way but it seems the angel/devil is still his personified inner dialogue. They all experience the same things, have the same memories, and while maybe having different "personalities" everyone has different sides of themselves. Yknow like the evil Kermit meme? One side of you saying to pick up the fallen ice cube and the other saying "you/I/we should kick it under the fridge". Still one person. That's my understanding but again brains work differently even in those with a singular identity state. I hope that's coherent enough (I struggle to condense my words oftentimes) but it just makes sense that a lot of people who think in words would experience it that way? Between what feels like a monologue/dialogue but still being one identity?

These are some fair points.

I would agree that people do just think differently sometimes. And having an inner dialogue or using these sorts of pronouns aren't necessary for plurality. It can even be possible for singlets to have an inner monologue that uses "you" pronouns.

Before going on, for what constitutes a person, I want to being up John Locke's definition of personhood, defining a person as...

a thinking intelligent Being, that has reason and reflection, and can consider it self as itself, the same thinking thing in different times and places

This is what I tend to mean when I say headmates are people.

This is also a general criteria I use for differentiating between multiple and singlet experiences. (With the caveat that plurality is a spectrum and there's a gray area in the middle for median systems.)

A headmate in my opinion follows the same pattern.

1. A headmate can think 2. It's capable of reason and reflection 3. It can consider itself as itself the same thinking being in different times and places.

The first is a bit redundant. Criteria two can't really be true if criteria one isn't. These two though are able to rule out a lot of psychotic hallucinations and dream characters from personhood, as most aren't capable of self-reflection.

The third criteria is actually two in one. It's being able to recognize yourself in different times and places. But it's also being able to distinguish yourself in different times and places.

To recognize when an action is yours and when it's someone else's.

Another layer to this is that it inherently implies some sort of persistence and autobiographical memories. After all, you can't recognize yourself in the past if you don't have a past.

With this context in mind, I'd like to step back to the Kronk point.

At least not entirely.

See, they'll each remember the same things happening. They'll each know the general events. But they'll each relate to memories differently.

If Kronk were to recall the conversations he's had with the Angel and Devil Kronks, he would likely recall it in terms "I said this, The Angel said that, the Devil responded this way," etc.

Kronk wouldn't consider their thoughts or actions to be his own. And this would go both ways. If you asked the Angel about things Kronk did, the angel would likely recall those in terms of Kronk doing those things. He wouldn't have a feeling of "I poisoned Kuzco." Because he didn't. Kronk did.

What is happening here can best be described as compartmentalization dissociation. The Angel, the Devil and the core Kronk are dissociated from each other, and don't view the actions of other members as their own.

"Trains of Thought"

I don't believe you're using this term the way most people would use it. When the majority of people refer to having multiple trains of thoughts, they're referring to an ability to think multiple things simultaneously.

What they aren't generally referring to is these "trains of thought" having their own intelligence, identity and recall.

You don't have a "train of thought" that thinks of itself as a separate entity from you, and will still remember things it told you a week later.

If you do have multiple "trains of throught" that are able to think for themselves, have their own distinct sense of self and autobiographical memories, and are self-conscious being able to recognize themselves as separate agents, I think you should consider that maybe your "trains" were people all along.

Guys I am having vildia thoughts I just think that they would be the sweetest couple ever if they were in love

Like I don't think Idia is the most vocal when he's in love with people he strikes me as the type of person that gets really awkward around his crush, but something abt Idia is that he's like Very Very expressive. Even without saying much or being very loud, he's basically able to get his point across just from his expression

It also helps that his hair is like. A mood ring💀 Vil and Idia make eye contact and Idia's hair just starts turning pink and his eyes widen and he looks like a deer caught in headlights as his cheeks slowly turn red

And when he finally gets over himself, his lips curl up into the most awkward, lopsided smile ever and he just does the tiniest wave and it's the cutest thing ever because he doesn't know what he's doing but he is very clearly trying his best and I think Vil would adore him like that's just a little guy

Like even before they start dating its so obvious he likes Vil because he usually looks yknow a tad bit grumpy but when Vil comes around, even if you ignore the pink hair, you can practically see the affection coming onto his face and the way his eyes naturally follow wherever Vil goes like that is a boy in love

Also when Vil isn't around if someone brings him up I think Idia will go on a tangent about how beautiful and amazing and cool Vil is and then when he realizes Vil is standing behind him he shuts up so fast and turns so red and he feels so embarrassed BUT ALSO Vil is giving him kisses now so it's okay even if he was indeed caught gushing about his boyfie

Also I think them having nonserious arguments would be hilarious because they argue about something and Vil looks at Idia and immediately bursts out laughing because despite how allegedly annoyed Idia is with him, his hair is still very very pink and he just can't shake himself of the obvious love in his expression

So...it´s complicated. Let´s just say that for now, for the time being, yes - I defo see reader as an unwilling prisoner who is fearing for their life most of the time because I like to write them as realistically as possible and the same goes for Maggot Momma - I want my monsters to remain monstrous. I like to describe things as one might actually experience them and, therefore, things can take a rather dark and twisted turn. But that´s where the appeal lies for a lot of people (myself included).

Exploring the inner workings of someone as twisted as Maggot Momma feels almost forbidden at times, but that´s what makes it so much fun to write and analyze. There´s just something so alluring and sinful about, well, everything Momma represents, really. She´s a deadly weapon which won´t hesitate to snuff out your life and laugh in your face while she does it...except when it comes to that certain someone and THAT´S where the true appeal lies.

What makes that certain someone so different from anyone else? What is it about them that makes a literal monster pause and decide that - yes, that´s the one - and being obsessed, completely smitten with their chosen one which is so untypical for a monster but here we are and, again, THAT´S what´s so alluring about it. A beast turned (somewhat) soft for that one person while everyone else can just rot in hell-

It´s basically Beauty & the Beast gone unhinged you could say.

Also, I wouldn´t go so far as to say reader feels "disgusted", at least not when it comes to Momma´s overall appearance (at least I don´t think I´ve given that impression in my previous posts, feel free to correct me though). They´re simply scared shitless and that breath truly does stink because Maggot Momma´s literally the walking dead and who can blame them IF they felt slightly repulsed by that? Also, have you been around decomposing, rotting bodies over a longer period of time? Me neither, thank god. Because lemme tell you, it would not be pleasant, at all.

Also, you might have noticed that Maggot Momma and her certain someone haven´t actually ticked that box yet. Meaning: anything to do with actual body contact has yet to happen - save for the occasional bite or lick here and a sniff there and sometimes raking those bloodstained hands through their hair. But that´s about it and your ask perfectly explained why I decided to do it that way.

Because, while I do love tapping into darker territory, I don´t want it to get that dark. That´s just not appealing to me as I feel like there´d be no room for that delicious tension or any kind of holy shit that´s hot yknow. (But that´s just my opinion, to each their own.)

So the clothes stay on (for now) and Imma keep sneaking in some lighter moments to balance out all that...other stuff.

But I guess we might be tapping into things like Stockholm Syndrome at some point in the future because I feel like that´s just an obvious consequence of...everything that´s happening in this (cursed) building.

also honestly, girl at an all boys school has been such a common trope for YEARS like. i know not everyone is insane like i was and went through a gacha phase but the fandom was literally 1/5 built off a girl mc in an all boys school trope. obviously we were all kids when we made it so gacha mvs weren't the best for the portrayal of nuanced, gendered issues or specifically, proper handling of misogyny for the matter but like. the theme itself definitely not weird as bad as people think. yuu literally got their asscheeks yoinked to an alternate world them being a girl is the least of their concerns. if any thing, it can be more interesting to see how characters differently interact with yuu and come to build positive, intimate and meaningful relationships with her especially as guys who have had limited interactions with girls, so both yuu and the characters learn from each other putting aside the main character development in the storyline. adding onto the feeling of the divide yuu would feel at the beginning as someone who's both from another world and of another gender in nrc. these girl in an all boys school plots often end up as a harem story where the mcs are just a blank slate in the character drama. and i hate it cause most of the times it ends up perpetuating the notion that guys can never be friends with girls due to romantic or sexual interest electing the girls as either someone to possess in a relationship or someone not suited to them at all, just generally being misogynistic pricks, or actually being a decent friend to a girl is humiliating and a sign of inferiority. or girls just aren't as interesting. my best friend is the lesbian to my gay twink and building relationships with people fundamentally different than you can be so, so beautiful and fulfilling. i love seeing girls and guys just being HOMIES!!! seeing fem yuu's learn and stumble and grow with the nrc and just. overall people drawing and writing their yuu's with their favorite character is like fuck, speak your truth man. to be honest i was mainly speaking about the inexperienced first years but just any character. malleus, lilia, vil, etc etc. let's go yuu nation

well you see. witch is named witch, because they're a witch. wraith is named wraith, because they're a wraith. hope this clears things up.

actual answer: name wise, they're both referential within the setting: witch's title- The Witch of the Absolute Nothing- is after their patron goddess, The Lady of the Absolute Nothing, who everyone in the entire multiverse assumes has been dead for several millennia now. this isn't the case, She's just in hiding, but that title being associated with witch serves for a nice redirection. their true name is a secwet :>

wraith's title- The Wraith of Between Spaces- is a fairly straightforwards reference to them being a ghost who can enter and freely travel through the gaps between universes, which is widely regarded to be a pain in the ass to pull off, how the fuck did they do that.

in terms of design, while i'm not intentionally referencing/mimicking anything with either of them, they're both a self-indulgent amalgamation of shit i think is cool and fun to draw. fluffy hair! bangs that conceal weird magical eyes! bouncy shapes! :3 face! + tall! longular! hair that is sleek but still has lines that go fwuaaaaa and sweep all over the place! different magic eyes! yknow. here 2 have a good time.

𝗰𝗮𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮 〜 what does your oc’s voice sound like? (witchwraithhaven)

witch: imagine a beach that's mostly made up of fist-sized rocks, and the sound those rocks make as the waves pull and rattle them gently against each other; now take that sound and put it in the mouth a broadway actor who then settled down to become a radio show host. they sound like that.

haven: a kind of birdlike high tenor; soft spoken out of politeness and/or low-grade anxiety, has the capacity to project pretty loudly when he gets Emotional. gets cartoonishly fast and high pitched when nervous, and is a prone to shrieking. uses a lot of filler sounds.

𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘆 〜 what does your oc consider to be their best feature? alternatively, what’s something they’re most self conscious about? (haven)

best feature: his wiggles he's consistently pretty proud of his hair! the color is more attention-getting than he would otherwise like but it's very pretty and he's been cutting it himself since he was 14, and likes to think he's pretty good at it. he'd consider going to beauty school if even just thinking about the potential of getting yelled at for ruining someone else's hair didn't make him preemptively break out into a cold sweat.

self conscious: he's got some uh. fun scarring going on. he'll die of heatstroke before he lets anyone see his bare torso.

Hello there! If your still doing headcanons, got by more miscellaneous Spyhead headcanons? I’ve read through yours posts about spyhead and love him, as well as your ideas about him :D

I'm always doing headcanons buddy, I've got way too much time on my hands!

Spyhead has managed to remember the different scars everyone has, covered by clothes or not! Whether he's inside or outside of the fridge during a surgery, he always at least gets a few glances at the people coming for little inspections.

He knows where most of the scars come from, too! After all, there's no reason some of those mercs wouldn't answer the questions Medic asks.

He knows Scout has a scar on his wrist from falling into a bush when he was younger, and little beauty mark like burns between his fingers from making popcorn for his family. He knows Heavy has some on his shoulders, from bears, and Demo has a ton all over from drunken shenanigans. Same for Soldier, however his shenanigans weren't entirely scrumpy induced. He knows Sniper has a little nick in his tongue from being dared to eat a random lizard the mercs found outside during a campout, and that the Engineer is more oilstained, than anything.

Also, he has helped Medic with a surgery! Only one, though.

We saw in the Meet the Medic that the special heart alterations needed to be added for Ubercharge to work, but in game it works on Medic as well! The mad man gave himself a new heart, and his little head friend was there helping him with it. After all, if Medic dies from some weird experiment gone wrong, he has no idea how the others would take care of him. They'd probably use him like a soccer ball or something.

He likes when Sniper comes in for checkups, honestly. The man is quiet, obedient (unlike Scout, who whines if he's gotta do something he doesn't like), and doesn't feel the need to make a huge deal about the living head! Well. He stares, but it's better than others. Plus, it's a little bit funny to see him snapped back to reality with a procedure being done because he was focused on the handsome devil on the table across from him.

He has. Such bad stubble. Yknow how on Spys model you can see some very mild stubble? Just the colouring? Yeah, Spyhead is going on a beard. He can't shave himself, Medic insists he's too busy, and he's not trusting anyone else with a blade that close to his face. He's already blind in one eye, thank you very much! He'd appreciate being able to keep watching the Merc drama.

Also, Drama. He is invested. Medic comes back from a mission and he's hopping over with a little smile asking what happened. If it's obvious Medic had a real bad day, he kinda just leans on his ankle. Contact to let him know he's there, even if he can't do much to help at all. He certainly tries.

He doesn't care much about hiding his emotions or intentions anymore, he's not really much of a Spy anyways. Just a head. He's a lot more open than typical spies, and if he knows someone doesn't like his fancy way of talking, he'll just get straight to the point. Might as well, dignity has long left him.

He doesn't remember his own name, so Medic takes full responsibility for giving him a new one. Sadly, it's something new every day. It works, however, since as long as it's not the name of an existing Merc, he'll respond to it. (Medic once called him pissbaby in German and he responded because of this fact. After Medic explained, it got a real good laugh out of them both.)

favorite thing about them

she’s just. genuinely very enjoyable. like I feel like other characters I have more specific things to say about them but she’s literally just very fun to watch I love her beautiful woman weird guy who is also a worm energy. her swagger her panache her power. all the scenes where she’s doing her professional science job and also just saying some vaguely insane shit are important to me. but then like I also think one of the most interesting things in her character was kind of unintentional as they were trying to sort her out where early jadzia was a lot quieter and more serious and theoretically more like she was before joining and then she just kind of evolves into her final form. like I don’t think that was intentional I think they just kinda went hmm this character isn’t working let’s try something else but I think the idea that sometimes it’s this gradual progression towards a balance (in a different way than it is for ezri later as well) is an interesting one.

least favorite thing about them

it’s too easy to talk about tears of the prophets and the whole like “she’s never mentioned that they want kids before now but since they’re killing her off she is now Woman Who Wants A Baby because i guess her death isn’t tragic enough otherwise, and it feels like cheating to talk about how “if worf hadn’t shown up it would’ve been you” (idr if that’s the exact quote and I refuse to look it up but it’s like that) is a horrendous retcon, but holy shit everything that happened at the end of s6 into s7 was like. it’s just so clearly spiteful?? like I’m not breaking new ground here we all know it but god.

also I do think her willingness to just like throw her life away for some random guy she met two days ago is kind of funny but if I knew her in real life it would drive me insane

I do like worfzia a lot when they’re written well (90s trek loved the “a relationship can’t be interesting unless they’re fighting about dumb shit all the time” school of thought, and while some of their arguments made sense bc they had conflicting worldviews and experiences and shit that they should reasonably have to struggle to work out, some of them felt like they were more a feature of this). but also kiradax soooo deeply important to me from like late s1 onward and I simply think. what if they were wifes.

I really liked what the julian and jadzia friendship settled into!! she wasn’t into him and he eventually got over it enough that they could become rly good friends!! and like I’ve said this before but I get if he still had lingering feelings ik that doesn’t always just go away but like. to treat it like it was ever remotely mutual is so disingenuous and a disservice to both characters imo

this is really specific but I like to think she kind of loosely keeps in contact with arjin (the trill initiate she was the field docent for) even if he doesn’t go on to be joined. I think it would be nice if they had a little like pen pal mentorship thing going on every so often yknow.

it’s funny I feel like there aren’t a lot of wildly differing opinions on jadzia. like generally speaking pretty much everyone thinks she’s enjoyable? I feel like I have seen people say she’s not the best written character and I don’t think they’re Wrong (and i do feel like to a degree they do more interesting trill stuff with ezri) but it also doesn’t. bother me that much in this case tbh.

i wouldn't really call myself a successful writer, at least not yet, because there are always more to learn and i can always get better yknow. and i don't really have any practical advice to give that you haven't already heard of: read more, keep writing, accept that sometimes you have to give up 3k words because it just doesn't work out, then read some more, etc etc

personally whenever i feel like giving up or when i don't like how my story is going, i just tell myself to tough it out and keep going. it doesn't matter that it's bad, it doesn't matter that you'll probably abandon it like tomorrow, but at least you're writing something right now and that's quite enough for me. it's not necessary to create something beautiful, but it is necessary to create. the more you write the more you discover things about yourself.

also don't delete your WIPS or abandoned ideas, no matter how bad they may seem. they're proofs of your improvements.

writer’s blocks WILL come and they will hurt like a stick in the butt. but eventually they will go away. i usually just use the time as a break and indulge in other hobbies that aren’t related to writing lol

one last thing i can share is probably to keep in mind that you are writing for yourself. as a writing blog sometimes i do fear that my content doesn’t cater (diamond) to everyone, that people won’t like what i’ve made, that my efforts will be for nothing. but at the very least you wrote something you love for yourself. so long as you enjoyed the process, then all the time and energy you spent is worth it. 

it’s always nice to receive positive comments like this one. i read every single tag and comment under my posts and they all mean a lot to me. i’m really glad that my writing has impacted someone. and it also makes me feel seen! so i’m very thankful for every single one of you💕

@veilkeeper Ahhh I'm so excited to talk about Vesper it's definitely not too many questions!!

Just to give some background, my current character is a custom dark urge, a half-drow divination wizard named Vesper.

2 - Was there something about the character creator that just couldn't capture your Character?

Yes actually. I always imagined Vesper as very androgenous which doesn't really translate well in the character creator since you can't play with face shape (I will say that their face has grown on me though). After learning that Kressa Bonedaughter was out there taking them apart on the reg I imagine they also have some intense scarring on their chest and abdomen. I actually gave them the large over the eye scar before I learned about Orin's attack, so I like to imagine that's where that came from.

17 - What does your Character think of Withers?

Sticking with just stuff from act 1, Vesper desperately wants to dissect Withers to find out what his whole deal is, they are just insanely curious (and have big slightly unethical wizard energy - this is one way I sort of imagine the Bhaalspawn thing creeping in even as they try to resist the urge). After he refuses to bring back Alfira this gets a little more intense, but they're also very afraid of him as well, since he seems to know what's going on with them but won't say. It ends up in this swirl of gratefulness that he helps their companions/ugly desire to pull him apart and see what makes him tick/resentment at him for not helping Alfira/fear at what he might know (because they're starting to get the sense that something is wrong with them and that they weren't a great person before). It's a wildly complex swirl of emotions that starts to change only when they meet Arabella in the shadowlands in act 2.

19 - Did your Character spend a night with a companion either the night of the party or earlier? Is it someone they have a continued interest in?

They spent the night of the party with Gale. A fellow wizard who loves magic like they do? Of course they were into him. Even though not a lot happened that night they're still hopeful since he seemed flattered by the attention and interested in turn (though the orb is complaining things at the moment). With Elminster's visit at the end of act 1, they're also just very concerned about him and his plans/state of mind, though that will really come into force in act 2.

23 - What are your Character's thoughts on the dream visitor?

Oh man. So since I went into this mostly blind I really didn't know much about the dark urge's backstory or the dream visitor. The original version of Vesper's dream visitor was another half-drow, since half-drow really seem to get it from all sides (the drow don't like them for not being drow enough, all the non-drow races seem to think they're too drow to be trusted) so I thought that would be a good dream guardian, and then made them basically way more beautiful (so someone Vesper could find both desirable and desirable-to-be) and possibly able to pass as a regular half-elf (again to add to the better and more desirable version of me feeling). So Vesper has this person who they very much want to trust (and be and love) but who they are ultimately very suspicious of because, yknow, everyone is talking about the dream visitor and this all started when they got their tadpole, so... Ultimately I think they really really want to trust them but are too suspicious in nature to really do so. I do think that intense desire to trust does sometimes sway them in the dream visitor's favor though.

Now that I've seen more of the dark urge's backstory though, I think my new vision for their dream visitor is actually a half-drow version of Gortash. That way I get to keep a lot of the stuff I outlined above but also get the delicious agony of them being drawn so strongly to this visitor for reasons they don't quite understand to just amp up all those emotions even higher and further intensify the conflict between their rational intelligent side (they're a wizard, they have 20 int) and this desperate emotional side.

27 - Who ended up in your Character's most used party?

Gale and Astarion were pretty much always in my party, Gale because I was planning on doing his romance and I like having a second caster for more coverage and Astarion because I needed a lockpicker (plus I love that sneak attack damage). The third spot was a little more variable, but was usually either Karlach or Shadowheart to round out the party, either because I needed healing or a good frontliner, or sometimes whoever I thought was most fun at the moment. (Yes my party comp is insane and unbalanced, no it doesn't get better in later acts lol)

44 - Blogger's choice - 37 - Did your Character find the Necromancy of Thay? How are they handling it / planning to handle it?

So they did find the Necromancy of Thay, and they read it successfully. They knew they were going to read it as soon as they got their hands on it, damn all the warnings everyone else was giving. This actually kinda endeared Gale to them because he was the exact same way, even if he was kinda upset that he didn't get to read the book.
