One aspect of Gwynriel that really excites me is religion. The other protagonists don’t seem to take religion or rituals very seriously? Everyone respects the Mother and acknowledges her power (and the Cauldron), but we haven’t explored faith among the fae. Feyre has a terrible experience with Ianthe (a sadly accurate depiction of corruption within organized religion). But we know that not all priestesses are like power-hungry Ianthe. Nesta is understandably indifferent even though she later has an experience with the Mother during Nyx’s birth. Rhys and Cassian seem respectful but we’ve never seen them pray or attend services. It’s giving “only attending church during Christmas” level of religious commitment.
Azriel, on the other hand… we haven’t had much canon insight in his head, but I firmly believe that Azriel is more religious than his brothers. Like he’s not the type to attend temple services, but he probably thinks about faith and the Mother regularly. Clearly he has contemplated mating bonds and who creates them — maybe he’s prayed for a mating bond? Maybe his mother raised him to be more religious. In HOFAS, after Nesta takes the mask off in a close call, Az’s very first instinct is to thank the Mother. Possibly that is meaningless (like how an atheist can say “thank god”) but idk. Az seems to have more faith than his brothers.
“The Mask fell from Nesta’s face, clattering on the stone.
Nesta swayed, but Azriel was there, catching her, bringing her to his chest, scarred hands stroking her hair. “Thank the Mother,” he breathed. “Thank the Mother.”
A few chapters later, Az describes the Cauldron and what happens after death.
“Bryce nodded to the carving. “What’s the big deal about a cauldron?”
“The Cauldron,” Azriel amended. Bryce shook her head, not understanding. “You don’t have stories of it in your world? The Fae didn’t bring that tradition with them?”
Bryce surveyed the giant cauldron. “No. We have five gods, but no cauldron. What does it do?”
“All life came and comes from it,” Azriel said with something like reverence. “The Mother poured it into this world, and from it, life blossomed.”
Later in the conversation, Az explains what happens to souls after death.
“When you die, where do your souls go?” Did they even believe in the concept of a soul? Maybe she should have led with that.
But Azriel said softly, “They return to the Mother, where they rest in joy within her heart until she finds another purpose for us. Another life or world to live in.”
The way Az talks about the Mother, with reverence and confidence, makes me certain that he’s more religious than his brothers.
Then, of course, we have Gwyn — a literal priestess who was raised in a temple. She still attends daily services and sings for the choir. I’ve wondered if what happened in Sangravah shook Gwyn’s faith. Maybe she thinks the Mother exists but isn’t a benevolent deity. Maybe she’s bitter that the Mother didn’t save her servants from Hybern attacks. She definitely feels shame and unworthiness — Gwyn no longer feels like she has a right to wear the Invoking Stone. Working through those feelings will be a major aspect of Gwyn’s arc.
“You asked me once why I don’t wear the hood or the Invoking Stone. That stone is a sign of holiness. How can someone like me wear it?”
Within the temple, Gwyn also faces prejudice and discrimination from her fellow sisters. Ianthe isn’t the only asshole within the organization (cough Merrill cough). I’m sure that some people in Sangravah were cruel to Gwyn’s family because of their nymph heritage. I don’t know what SJM has planned, but I feel that religion will play a major role in the Gwynriel book. I wouldn’t be surprised that, like Nesta, Gwyn has a firsthand experience with the Mother. She will definitely use the blue invoking stone for healing (a nice parallel to Az’s blue siphons).
“It’s an Invoking Stone.” Gwyn unfurled her fingers, revealing the gem within her hand. “Similar to the Siphons of the Illyrians, except that the power of the Mother flows through it. We cannot use it for harm, only healing and protection. It was shielding us.”
I’m also curious to see Gwyn and Az discuss their religious beliefs together. Maybe Az gets permission to join the dawn and dusk services. The man barely sleeps, he might as well watch Gwyn during her religious commitments. The shadows are NOT going to pass a chance to hear their girl sing (or watch her glow). Maybe Nesta can talk Az into singing with the choir. 🥹
Nesta could only gape at the lovely melody, the voices from the front of the cavern leading it, lifting higher than the others. Gwyn sang, chin high, a faint glow seeming to radiate from her. The music was pure, ancient, by turns whispering and bold, one moment like a tendril of mist, the next like a gilded ray of light. It finished, and Merrill spoke about the Mother and the Cauldron and the land and sun and water. She spoke of blessings and dreams and hope. Of mercy and love and growth.
Idk, maybe I’m wrong about Az being religious. But it feels like such a wasted opportunity if we don’t learn more about the Mother! At the very least, I do see Az attending the dawn and dusk services if he’s not on a mission. 🎼🩵🎶

(Pretty much) All my headcanons and symbolisms for my EmpiresSMP designs!
With some further detailling about some stuff under read more
Season 1
Pixl: Watchers are not some big bad evil Gods, but astral spirits watching over the worlds. As they See everything, they are often linked to the Vigil (as well as people given the gift of prophecy)
The life symbol was added after his alliance with Joey
Joel: A terracotta statue given life from the Mother Tree, he's flesh and bones (because magic), but him (and all the Mezalea habitants) returned to their statue form when Joel died of grief.
He does have other clothes to work in, but you're practically never going to see him in those.
Some other Mezalea headcanons
Jimmy: Most witches come from the swamp, and he's one of them. They specialize in potions and talismans.
Hair are important to codfolks, the act of brushing or braiding them are used in certain spells, thus why most codfolks don't have short hair.
His appearance is also more wild looking than before because of his slow transformation into a God.
The Cod Alliance gifted each other jewelries to remind and protect each others.
(Pixl and Joel's jewelries are under their clothes as necklaces)
Wizards vs Witches
Coldfolk culture and more
Some more codfolk thoughts
Tumblr media
After killing a certain amount of salmons, codfolks get a tattoo of dead salmons somewhere on their body.
Pearl: Similarly to Mythland, they see physical activities and fights as important (mostly for work but also protect themselves from ennemies).
I. don't have anything from Shrub I'm sorry I didn't watch her and I don't know her lore very well
Gem: Gem and fWhip grew up together to be wizards in the Crystal Cliffs, pressured to be perfect by their elders. Gem turned out to be naturally talented at magic, so everything rested on her shoulders.
She still keeps a lot of her strict education, but tries to make a change in the stressful wizard society.
Tumblr media
She has a ring to represent the WRA (and another for magic channeling), and lots of scars from magic experiments.
Hair and the Geminitays
Wizards vs Witches (again, but it's important for Gem and fWhip lore)
fWhip: As said in the posted linked above, fWhip failed the wizard exams (he doesn't have any magical powers) and ran away in the newly founded Grimlands. His ingenuousness made him Count of the Grimlands. The Grimlands do not do magic. They mix science, engineering and alchemy instead. Symbols similar to sigils (or those of alchemy) are often seen engraved in their creations.
Tumblr media
The deepslate corruption gave him wings, but they were not strong enough to fly so he has prosthetics to help him fly
Tumblr media
He's actually quite clumsy, and ended up with lots of scars, and a missing hand:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joey: (clearer design of his crown, made to ressemble the pharmacy snake thingie)
Tumblr media
He bleaches his own hair.
He bleeds gold, and his scars are golden as well from his over use of Totems of Undying
Tumblr media
Him being an avian allowed him a easy access to the Lost Empire. He wears the Ocelot print to look a bit more like its habitants.
Also his spit has healing properties.
Sausage: Mythland and Magic
Blood sheeps are sacred, but also feared, thus the fur to protect the citizens a bit from them.
Sausage lost his eyes when sparring with fWhip when younger. fWhip made him the eye prosthesis, and Gem enchanted it. May or may not have become corrupted in the whole Xornoth thing so they did another one for him.
Tumblr media
Scott: I surprisingly do not have much for him. His cape can turn into wings. He stopped being able to do that when his ice powers showed up because they froze.
Tumblr media
Very strict haircut, elves must be tidy and proper all the time.
Lizzie: She adapted rather well to her transformation, mostly changed her clothes for better swimming. Joel jokingly made her a bracelet to replace her now too small ring "in case she grows again", but she wears it seriously.
S2 Joel has very similar clothes to her because of faint memories.
Katherine: Yeah I fucked and forgot to color her inking, she was supposed to look like this (I noticed too late and never bothered to correct it)
Tumblr media
Katherine has this whole "I want to be friends with everyone" that I associate with lambs, thus her ears and hooves. She's a fae with some weird morals.
SEASON 2
I have wayyy less for season 2, especially for the empires themselves.
fWhip: Goblins are direct descendants from the Grimlands (and a few from Crystall Cliffs), that hid underground after the explosion. They kept digging and exploring the caves until they found a place to settle. The green skin, cat like paws and eyes are from them adapting to living in caves.
Food is very important to them, they eat several times a day, and often have banquets. They also kept the Grimlands technique of blacksmithing, but adapted it for gold.
Jimmy: Yeehaw he's a cowboy. Not much to say ngl, I do headcanon him as a werewolf depending on the day.
Tumble Town heard cows, but also creepers (where do you think they get that gunpowder from!!) (headcanon from @doodleshrimpsad). Also, cats are sacred there
Pixl: He's got some magical and futuristic technology making him able to see builds and events from the past.
Got some knees problems, thus the cane. It has sigils on it that he wrote himself based of books from old times (I'm thinking they're sigils from the Cod Empire and the Grimlands)
I desperatly need to think about more about Pixandria, and how tf David (or at least a newer version of it) arrived at the Ancient City.
Joel: Yeah he got top surgery and got a cool tattoo of laurels, but he also bleeds gold and his scars are golden. God don't bow to human rules anyway.
The braid come from a habit he can't doesn't remember getting. it feels important.
Lower Stratos got a lot of rituals, prayers and offering but I haven't figured those out exactly. Just know that I associate s2 Joel with Dionysus a lot so expect similar stuff /sweats/
False: I have literally no idea what's going in her empire, and even less in her lore. The hp name put me off so. Idk. Cool clocks. She got a prosthetic leg.
Sausage: I haven't gotten to his lore part of his videos so idk his backstory. But he does have a cape that ressemble parrot wings because jungle, animals yadda yadda
Scott: He was actually due a redesign that I haven't gotten to yet so.
Tumblr media
The outfit I've drawn him in that lineup is an everyday look, while the costume is for empires meeting or exploring.
Oli: Silly bard, his hat has faling strings that reminded me of floppy bunny ears and I thought it was cute. He bleaches his hair.
Got a lot of magic in his songs, people often stops by at his Kingdom just to hear sing and dance. They're a bit hypnotic and people seem to feel better afterwards.
Katherine: That's her monster hunter clothes. She still wants to keep it cute so pink skirt it is. That would be her normal clothes (it's like reverse magical girl, her poofy dress is her everyday dress)
Tumblr media
Shelby: I do not have much for her (again), but I can link my Wizard vs Witches post again because it has my headcanons of why witches have academies now.
After all the complicated spells, she likes to do simple fashion magic. Tying a knot or a bow is to seal a spell, so she uses them a lot to do some simple protection spells on her clothes.
Pirate Joe: He's wearing lots of stolen jewelries, some may be enchanted, some may be cursed. Who knows? Not him.
The gold earring come from that belief among pirates that having a golden earrings gives you a better eyesight ( it's from a acupuncture point, and for some, wearing gold in the proper pierced place would help your eyesight).
Katherine did that braid in his hair, and Joe (like cod folks and crystal cliffs habitants), believes that braiding someone's hair means they will fall in love with you.
Gem: I'll have to link back that link about Hair and Geminitays as it got everything I got for her. She sometimes fight with Katherine about hair and its importance. My start of headcanons kinda got crushed because she's linked to hc Gem so idk what to do with her or her kingdom anymore.
Lizzie: She's got her mask to hide her cat face, but her bow is actually a charm hiding her other cat features. The mask is just to be sure.

What did bismuth Dirk make Hal FOR?
ALRIGHT! TIME FOR MY SECOND STORY DUMP! We need a bit of context before we get to Hal, so bear with me. (this is a long as fuck post)
SO! Dave and Dirk both come from Homeworld, as all gems do. I'm not super sure on the exacts, as the Alpha Kids are the first ones to leave together and they pick up the Beta Kids later but, we're kind of floating around the idea of Bro being Yellow Diamond or having some sort of equivalent power. Both Dirk and Dave are gems under Yellow, Dirk being a Bismuth and Dave being a Carnelian.
Plot stuff happens, Dirk escapes and at some point comes back to get Dave and now they have a whole squad and all that, yadda-yadda. However, during their escape from Homeworld, something Bad happens and causes Dave to get injured (don't know what it is yet but it's something)
Dave's gem gets cracked but everyone still makes it out okay. Due to whatever the circumstances are surrounding this, only Dave and Dirk know of the status of Dave's gem, Dave starts wearing actual clothing upon getting to Earth to hide his cracked gem, using the excuse that it's cool and he's trying to vibe with the style.
Dirk is a Bismuth, he's been trained his whole life to create weapons of war and things for destruction, and now, faced with one of the people he's come to care about most, it's the one time he can't fix a problem by putting a hammer to it. He can't help Dave, and Dirk blames himself for letting Dave get hurt in the first place, thinking he wasn't strong enough to protect him.
As time goes on, Dave gets worse, and especially after escaping Homeworld, Dave's cracked gem prevents him from spawning his weapon. This means Dave is filled with trauma on top of feeling deeply defenseless, coming from a place where having a weapon on you at all times was the only thing keeping you alive.
Dirk, watching Dave's deterioration, decides that enough is enough and he seeks out Pink Diamond. Upon finding Feferi, Dirk trades in something (A deal? A service?) in exchange for some of her healing material. He brings it to Dave and heals his gem.
So, you'd assume everything's fine and dandy now, right? Surely.
But no, it's Dirk, so it's not.
Dirk looks at this situation and says, "I'm never going to let this happen again" and concludes that the reason Dave got hurt was because he, Dirk, was not strong enough. So Dirk asks, "How do I get stronger?"
At some point during this time, the group is all out doing stuff together and Dirk watches Sollux save all their asses from something. Dirk realizes Sollux is statistically the stronger gem out of the whole group and puts two-and-two together (literally), concluding that what he needs to be powerful is...
Fusion. (do you see where this is heading?)
Will Dirk go and ask Sollux about this? Will he go and maybe ask Roxy, who he trusts? Will he talk to Dave and get his thoughts?
No, of course not. Because Dirk is a little stupid.
Dirk theorizes that if he can splinter his own gem and create an artificially copied fragment of himself, he'd be able to fuse with himself which would avoid having to rely on other people. So Dirk does the one thing he wasn't going to do to Dave. He takes the hammer to himself.
This, as you would imagine, goes fucking horribly wrong.
Dirk creates Hal, who is only a very small sliver of Bismuth. A corrupted gem that can't properly speak, seems to be intelligent, but also fucking hates Dirk.
Tumblr media
Dirk, panicked, both because now his own gem is fucked up, but now because he has a little Dude running around his workshop, decides "oh fuck I need to fix this" and tries to fuse with Hal.
It doesn't work. Their fusion isn't stable. They can't fuse back together.
Dirk, having no idea what to do, decides to hide Hal away in his workshop and does his best to lie to everyone. Dave is suspicious, as Dirk starts to wear clothing that covers his gem, but Dave also isn't one for emotional vulnerability so he doesn't ask. Dirk continues to lie to most of everyone, even as his own state gets worse and worse.
Eventually, Sollux realizes what Dirk did. And he's fucking pissed. The lie gets uncovered and Sollux is ANGRY. Remember when Pearl lied to Garnet about the tower and the whole Sardonyx thing? It's like that, but both sides are angry at each other and refuse to apologize.
The rest of the group do their best to take care of Hal, they try to help Dirk fuse properly with him but it's not working, and Dirk keeps trying to force it but they aren't stable.
Eventually, something happens, and Dave gets poofed while they're out on an adventure (obviously Dave can recover, but it's a huge scare for Dirk). It's something Dirk could've easily protected Dave from, but now because he fragmented himself, he's even weaker than before. This is the final tipping stone for Dirk.
He goes to Sollux and apologizes, begging him to help him figure out fusion.
Sollux, resigned, sighs and agrees to help him. With time, Sollux slowly teaches Hal and Dirk how to work together and fuse, gradually helping them become more and more stable until finally they can fuse together and be like normal again.
Even after all of this, Hal and Dirk fused together aren't any more powerful than they were before. But Dirk grew in a different way, learning to trust others and see that not all his problems can be solved by just relying on himself.
Sollux, seeing Dirk & Hal's growth, who have now become a proper permafusion, offers to fuse with them if he wants to try it. Dirk smiles and shakes his head, and says that he'll be happy with where he is for right now, though he wouldn't mind taking it up in the future. Sollux is beaming back, satisfied that Dirk learned his lesson. (and then when shit goes down in the future we have this fucking awesome moment where Dirk and Sollux fuse together for the first time and theyre so fucking cool and i physicall explode)
ANYWAYS THAT'S MY STORY DUMP. LONG-ASS POST I KNOW BUT I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THEM! HOPE THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION!!

Alright fuck it gem au
Hundreds of years ago, Gaia was the battleground for a gem war, leaving behind many gem shards. Shinra has been messing around with gem shards to try and recreate gems, to only some success. SOLDIERs are called LAPID, who are humans that have been melded with reconstructed gems. These gems have a lot of power, but need to fuction with outside energy - like a human's life or something idk i'm still working on it.
LAPID are incredibly powerful from the gems. They don't poof if they take too much damage, but they may go catonic as the gemstone works on healing the wounds, and are generally pretty hard to kill. The process of becoming a LAPID leaves most with physical changes - like a chagne to hair or eye color, or sometimes even skin. LAPID can fuse with one another and with humans, and are suceptible to corruption, which happens frequently and can spread quickly if introduced to a big group. They manifest whatever clothes they want and have a weapon or power that came with their gem.
Cloud himself has an emerald gem that replaces one of his eyes. While he should be able to manifest a weapon, he doesn't and instead uses the buster sword.

like a moth to a flame
happy @mcyt-yuri-week! this is for the day 1 prompt, "sun/moon" <3
Saint Pearl has always been a protector.
Back when she was mortal, she guarded the other rulers of Empires from Xornoth’s corruption. She worked tirelessly to rescue her friends, cure curses, and fight the forces of evil that threatened Gilded Helianthia.
Until it killed her.
She tries not to think about the last day of her life — her grief over her friends and her empire, the burning pain running through her veins as she withered away, Sausage’s futile attempts to save her — but the memories sometimes resurface anyway. Pearl supposes that’s the nature of trauma. The memories come in waves that try to drown her, but she’s learned to keep her head above water.
Besides, she has just as many memories to seek solace in. Many of her friends survived and healed from the destruction. Nature recovered and grew over the wreckage of her empire, creating a thriving ecosystem where there once was only despair. Sausage dedicated the rest of his life to finding a way to bring her back, and the magic he gave to her is the only reason she’s alive, using her newfound powers to shape the world and protect her friends once more. She’s endlessly grateful for her second chance.
And of course, there’s the thought of one particular survivor. Pearl once explored her new magic academy as a ghost, and it felt like home. Her flame-red hair and gilded antlers have never changed, and she still has the sharp-tongued wit that made Pearl fall in love with befriend her in life. Gem, healed and safe once again, has never looked more beautiful.
As her friends grow older, Pearl finds herself wondering how to repay them for the love they’ve shown her. They deserve a safe place to thrive, one where they can discover their unique strengths and learn the intricacies of their code. They deserve a place where every failure means a second chance and a fresh start. They deserve a world where the universe is kind.
With all the magic she can muster, Saint Pearl creates the world of Afterlife.
She loves watching her friends adapt to the new world. They study their new powers, change their style to fit them, and form new alliances. They don’t remember Empires, of course — she could never hurt them like that — but they’re still the same friends they once were. They’re safe and sound, and Pearl takes comfort in watching them from afar.
As much as she misses them, though, there’s one thing she can’t bring herself to do.
She can’t reach out to them.
She isn’t sure why. Maybe it’s that she’s worried her presence will break the spells keeping them safe. Maybe it’s that she’s afraid of being forgotten.
If she’s being honest, though, she knows the reason. She’s afraid her powers aren’t enough. If she tries and fails to reach her friends, she’ll know that she can never see them again. It’s better not to know. It is.
Gem is no longer a wizard, nor a deer, but she’s still just as beautiful as before. She lives as a villager, then a robot, and Pearl is proud of her every step of the way.
When she dies once again and regenerates as a moth, Pearl knows it’s a sign from the universe. Saint Pearl has always loved moths. She’s always found hope in the way they thrive when the world is at its darkest, but they still reach for the light anywhere they can find it. Gem’s fuzzy pink and yellow wings are a sign of everything good and safe in the world, and Pearl misses her. She selfishly hopes Gem feels the same about her.
Afterlife is safe and perfect, until the day it isn’t.
Saint Pearl is in her home, watching glow squids swim in an ocean cave on her television, when her worst nightmare happens.
Gem mines the wrong block, finds herself on the receiving end of a waterfall’s force, and falls into the ocean depths.
Pearl gasps at the sight. “Gem?”
The water drenches Gem’s wings, dragging her down to the bottom of the cave. The suddenly-useless weight on her back stops her from swimming back up. She’s too small to fight it. She’s drowning, and there’s no way to save herself.
Pearl’s mind goes blank. “Gem? Gem, no, please survive…”
Gem coughs. Water rushes into her mouth. If she tries to breathe at all, she knows she’ll suffocate.
Another wave of memories hits Pearl like a wither skull. She’s suddenly surrounded by the scent of smoke and wither poison. Her whole body burns. She can’t think of anything anymore. There’s nothing she can do. She’s dying, and she’s helpless, and she’s terrified…
“I’m not there anymore,” Pearl whispers, trying to turn her attention back towards Gem. “I’m not there anymore, it’s over…”
Gem kicks harder, reaching desperately for the surface, but she can barely swim a pixel higher. She’s freezing. She’s exhausted. Everything hurts so badly, and there’s nothing she can do. She’s completely helpless. She’s going to drown.
Pearl’s heart aches, and she can barely catch her breath. The worst moment of her life is playing out in front of her, but this time, she’s forced to watch the player she loves more than anything die slowly and helplessly. It can’t happen again. It can’t. She can’t let it happen again.
If Pearl fails, she’ll know she can never reach her friends. Their realms are impossibly distant. There’s no way she can save Gem.
Still, Pearl shouldn’t be alive. Her very existence is impossible. And if Sausage could save her life all those years ago, maybe she can pass that magic along to someone else.
Saint Pearl closes her eyes, summons all her power, and disappears in a flash of golden light.
Gem is running out of hearts, and it hurts.
She isn’t exactly afraid of death — she’s got a few more lives ahead of her, after all — but this one is slow and painful in a way she isn’t used to. Her wings drag her deeper and deeper as she hopelessly struggles to swim. Water stings her eyes, mixed with the tears she knows are falling. She wants to scream, but she can’t. There’s nothing she can do—
The cave shimmers with golden light. Gem is lifted into strong, kind arms, and she realizes she can breathe again. She clings to the glowing figure as it lifts her out of the water, out of the cave, and back to sunshine and solid ground.
“Oh, love,” someone whispers. “Let’s get your wings dried off, alright?”
Gem looks up and sees her mysterious rescuer. She has shining brown hair, sapphire eyes, and a sunflower crown, and she glows with golden light. She’s beautiful, and there’s something so familiar about her. Gem looks closer, tries to remember, and–
magic spells and potions and wither roses and explosions and corruption and love, so much love–
Gem’s eyes fill with tears. “Pearl?”
Pearl can’t help but cry, too. “I missed you, Gem. It’s so good to see you again.”
Trips to Afterlife take all of Pearl’s energy, so she doesn’t visit much. She occasionally stops by to say hello or to leave a secret gift in someone’s mailbox, but most of the time, she’s just a quiet guardian watching from afar. That’s enough for her — she knows her friends are safe, and if they’re ever in true danger, she’s always ready to lend a helping hand. Most of the Afterlife members are still without their memories of Empires, but a few are recovering them: Shrub transformed back into herself for a moment, Sausage still remembers Pearl clearly, and ever since Pearl’s first visit, Gem remembers everything — her trauma, yes, but also her friendships and her love.
No server can last forever, and after a while, Gem reaches her final life. She’s half-dragon, with scaly arms and powerful wings that remind her of baby Violet (who she knows has grown into a majestic teenager). It feels like a sign from the universe – just like on Empires, the appearance of a new dragon is an end and a beginning.
She’s ready. It’s time to go.
She leaps from her roof, uncertain of what awaits her, and–
Something whisks her through the air. Her feet touch the ground in a field of sunflowers, surrounded by sunshine and clouds. She’s at rest in the sky, which means…
“There had to be an easier way to do that, Gem,” a voice teases from behind her.
Gem turns around and leaps into the arms of Saint Pearl, who kisses her softly on the forehead. “You look beautiful that way, Gemini.”
Gem blushes. “It’s my favorite Origin so far.”
“It’s perfect for you.” Pearl takes Gem’s hand and leads her back towards her golden house, now a safe place for all her loved ones to stay.
Saint Pearl smiles. “Welcome home.”

@cosmicrain-draws @otherxagnela Remember that fusion idea? Im writing out the first chapter rn, and I'm making it a Steven Universe AU. I'm hopefully going to make it a 5 part thing, if I'm able to restrain myself. I'm planning for it to be separate from the shows plot. Here's the original AU idea below!
Scarab is called Painite in this AU. He was made by Pink Diamond as a War General during the Gem War in an attempt to keep up face. He's basically the same just with added loyalty to PD. I'm going to keep him on Earth, more on that later. He is very good at what he does, and I like to think his main power is that he's very very good at shifting his shape and becoming any gem as long as his own gem is covered. I'm saying he can change his red skin to yellow instead of it being red in the new form and can make a fake gem anywhere on his body. A kinda of spy ability, if you will. He doesn't use it often as shifting is exhausting outside of work (and he doesn't have a lot of practice with it as Amathyst does) so he mainly just sticks as a front-lines fighter (even though he's a general, he's fantastic at fighting, so he joins his fellow gems in the main fights instead of being on the sidelines). He has wings, absolutely he does. And his gem got cracked in the war, taking his ability to fly away, like Lapis. I like to think his weapon is like his canon Cyrstal device, as his gem weapon can change into anything he wants it to be. He mainly either keeps it as a spear, a scythe, or an axe. Mainly a scythe tho
Prismo is a bit of a mix for me, can't really decide what gem he should be. So far, I'm going to make him a sapphire. Specifically, a Star Saphire. He was a gift from Blue Diamond to Pink to help with her wartime planning and attacks as he is a lot better at seeing the outcomes of things than other sapphires. His power (other than the future vision thing which he doesn't use cuz it gives him a headache) would be similar to Time-Woods Sīdus. I like to think he can make things, like he can make anything using his gem as long as he either has the right raw materials (which can be anything) or enough energy. He can make everything, ranging from weapons, clothes, to anything you can think of. Even food, but he doesn't make that a lot cuz it grosses him out. At the start of his time with Pink, he acts exactly as he's made, scared that he'll be shattered since he's really the first of his kind. After some time, he and Pearl start talking about how great Pink is (Star wouldn't fawn over her, as he really has no loyalties to any of the Diamonds other than to himself) and he would eventually notices how unhappy she is. Cue them being attacked, and he learns that Pink is actually Rose Quartz. Instead of shattering him, she offers him freedom if he helps with the gem rebellion. He'd take it, hating the oppressing atmosphere of Homeworld, and become the Wishmaster amongst the gems. He'd get that title because he can make, as I said before, anything, and that includes a milder version of Rose's healing tears. Cracked gems would come to him to get healed, he'd help plan attacks on Homeworld forces, and he'd make anything they needed whenever things were going too fast for them. He earns his place in the Crystal Gems and becomes part of the main gang, always seen by Pearl and Rose. His gem weapon would be a similar thing in Seraphyllic, him making 2D versions of his hands and swinging them like a mad man. Painite would have one hell of a time trying to get a hit on Star.
After the war, Painite gets left behind and would survive the diamond blast by hiding deep under the crust of the earth. He would still get corrupted somewhat, which would give him his more buggy features. Star would survive because Rose would pull him under her shield as well and would start just wandering the Earth after all of it is said and done. They accidentally meet when Painite searches for a cure. Of course, Painite sees Star as a traitor and attacks, ending with Star poofing Painite, but not shattering him. Painite's crack wouldn't be healed by Star just yet, I want that to be an intimate moment. Painite would definitely glitch out because of the crack and turn more savage because of the corruption, temporarily losing his mind whenever he got too overwhelmed. Of course, Star is always there to calm him down.
I'm still finicky about the plot, but so far, I'm making Painite go around Earth during the peace and hunt down the other corrupted gems, think the diamonds would heal them once he'd get back to Homeworld. And Star would just be wandering around, exploring Earth and leaving his own little rsster eggs that Painite sees and is always confused about. Yes, Painite still thinks there are no other non corrupted gems on Earth.
Lemme know if you've got any of your own ideas and stuff. I went for a Steven Universe AU cuz I got absolutely stumped on how I could make their shadow versions fuse in a way we haven't seen already. Great work on that art btw, Rain!

The Defense of Steven Universe’s (OG Show) Ending
Tumblr media
(This is basically a post where I put everything I said in a large Twitter thread so it’s more easily readable, with maybe a few changes and additions.
Spoilers BTW)
So I’ve been drawing a lot of stuff lately and in doing so, I’ve been rewatching a lot of old shows I used to watch and finishing whatever I missed out on. Steven Universe was an interesting one, as I recall having some form of obsession with it as a kid on Google+, however I barely remembered watching a lot of it or if I even watched it on TV or on websites like Kisscartoon. And after doing so,
I barely see the hate for it that it’s gotten for years.
It has its flaws, and issues that have plagued the show outside of what’s within it, but it’s no doubt memorable with a great cast of characters and very unique and fascinating lore and story telling. Now, I don’t wanna really get into a whole deep dive review on the whole show, as even though I’ve made a couple of essays lately (mainly on Sonic the Hedgehog), I don’t think I’m that experienced to go over an entire 5 seasons explaining each and every episode’s strengths and weaknesses and allat (though maybe I might discuss the amazing character development of each crystal gem in the future, who knows?), rather I want to discuss something that is partially why I started watching this show again: The Ending - Change Your Mind (S5E29).
——————————————
Now, the ending is understandably mixed, I understand the critiques of it being weird and anticlimactic and all and how it doesn’t feel like the diamonds’ actions on gem history was fully acknowledged and been punished for it. I completely get the criticism here and I don’t want to drive away people from making actual critiques on the show and where it could’ve improved upon.
What I mainly want to focus on is the notion that the ending can be summed up to, “Steven forgave Gem Hitler”
That is very incorrect.
See, the whole reason why White Diamond (the “Gem Hitler”) was involved with the story was because after Steven was able to prove to Blue and Yellow Diamond that he’s Pink Diamond, he takes the opportunity to use their stronger powers to restore one of the corrupted gems (Centipede). This works…for a moment, as they’re only restored once all 3 put their healing powers to use, but upon letting go of the gem, they reform back into their corrupted version. With Steven technically being part of the Diamond Authroity, he thinks maybe he can take advantage of his position to be able to speak to White Diamond, the highest gem in the patriarchy, and convince her to come to Earth to help the corrupted gems.
Throughout these last episodes, it’s clear this is all for a demand to help gems that were stuck on Earth. While Steven wanted to just try and talk to White, and convinced Blue and Yellow to express how they feel about how White has handled their civilization, there’s never a point where he’s all like “look inside your heart, please you have so much good in you I can feel it” or whatever. Considering how he had to fuse with the Crystal Gems and team up with others who showed up to be able to fight her mech and barely reach to the top of it to meet her, this whole plan wasn’t really as pacifist as many have made it out to be.
———————————
Sorry to stray off a little but, funny thing is, as much as people make fun of Steven Universe for being a show where characters just talk their feelings out and suddenly everything is good, they acknowledge in one of the episodes that not every gem has this deep trauma or pain they try to hold in.
In the episode, “Stuck Together” he and Lars get caught by Aquamarine and Topaz, they both open up to each other about how no matter what happens, they got each other. This leads Topaz who throughout her introduction has been mute and serious and who has them held hostage, to start crying and vent about how much emotional pain she’s been holding in so much because it’s her job. When Aquamarine finds out she’s trying to help them escape, they desperately start trying to convince her that she’s allowed to open up about whatever she feels, that they’re here to listen and talk.
This is was her reaction.
Tumblr media
And I have yet to watch Future right now, but from what I’m reading, even after a lot has changed since the original show and tons of gems live peacefully with Beach City, she shows up again to get her revenge.
At no point is she ever redeemed in any way.
Tumblr media
———————————
Anyways, the only reason why Steven was able to convince White to do something to corrupted gems on Earth was because he bested her and she couldn’t do anything about it.
Her whole ordeal was how she wants to have this flawless world where nothing goes out of line, even if it means having to mind control them so they act just like her. She views herself as being the perfect gem of all time who knows what’s best for everyone. However, due to how she’s acted with Steven, being an adult gem constantly picking on a literal child because she refuses to accept he’s not Pink Diamond or is part human; how it’s all just a disguise and Pink Diamond is just lying to herself, she’s embarrassed and realizes she indeed does have a flaw. She’s shaken up with guilt over how petty and childish she’s been acting, being exactly what she’s been criticizing Pink Diamond, to the point where she questions who she is. If she’s not this flawless perfect gem who knows what’s best, then what is she? What should she be since throughout her whole life she’s been obsessed with perfection? She can’t be leader of a whole gem civilization trying to make everyone flawless if she herself is flawed. What further solidified it was how she was unable to control Pink Steven no matter how much she tried, and once she started blushing and feeling embarrassed, she lost control on the other gems she had brainwashed. Blue and Yellow even react in disgust/fear seeing her become “off-color” due to her blush, basically for a moment them losing respect for her.
Steven goes up to her and tries to tell her to just, let people be who they are, without trying to “fix” them, and maybe she can be whoever she wants to be. White is still in distraught, wanting to be someone who knows better, be better, and wanting to make everything better, which Steven offers her a way to do so (which is coming to Earth to help the corrupted gems), but first needing to leave your own head - literally and figuratively.
————————————
At no point throughout the ending is White crying about trauma or begging for forgiveness to Steven and having him go “it’s ok we all make mistakes 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰”, all that happens is Steven sees her essentially having an identity crisis now that she cracked and realized she isn’t as perfect as she thought she was, and being the good natured kid he is, offers to show her how she can be a better person, taking the opportunity to make her do what he set out to demand from her. To say they should’ve shattered her would’ve defeated the whole point as to why Steven even went back to Homeworld to begin with, cuz he needed White’s help. Plus, still haven’t watched Future but,
There is a scene where Steven actually attempts to SHATTER White Diamond upon taking control of her body for everything she has done to him, he CLEARLY doesn’t find her to be in the clear of everything she’s done.
Tumblr media
TL;DR They can’t just shatter her cuz she’s the big bad villain, the whole point of the final episodes was Steven needing her in order to restore all the corrupted gems they’ve saved throughout the show. No matter what it took, he was going to find a way to do it. While I do agree that there could’ve been better acknowledgment on everything that she’s done to Homeworld and all, same goes for Blue and Yellow, as they’re immediately relegated to out of touch aunts, to make the massive stretch that this is supposed to be Steven forgiving Hitler or proof that Rebecca Sugar (a Jewish person) is a Nazi apologist…come on bro.
EDIT: I really recommend btw watching this video I recently just viewed discussing the show’s ending and really diving in about the topic of Steven’s identity and White’s identity. It’s informative summarizing a lot of what’s been hinted at and led up to the final episode and goes over stuff I could never even attempt to bring to light with how amateurish I am at this sorta junk 💀
youtube
And even if with everything being said, you still believe in the notion that “Steven forgave Gen Hitler” or whatever, I’m about to bring up an argument so earth shattering that it will make you re-evaluate everything you know about the show. So, here it goes:
IT’S A FUCKING PG CARTOON SHOW
———————————
Listen, I know it’s very cliche to use the, “it’s a kids show it’s not that deep!!” argument or whatever idiots say to avoid people from discussing further about their favorite things, especially in an era where many are pushing the “Animation is Cinema” phrase and proving its not just kiddie shit only babies like, but what I mean is
At what point is it crossing the line when making comparisons from a thing in fiction to something in real life?
What makes a great story is how it’s able to draw connections to realistic issues or problems many face with unique metaphors and analogies and all of that, Steven Universe is no different. However, at what point are the metaphors or references to real life supposed to stop? At what point does it become stretching really hard? I can understand how people have had ideas that “fusion is a metaphor for sex” or whatever to some degree.
But going as far as to compare this obviously over the top dictator to the world’s worst man to have ever lived on planet earth who is responsible for the death of millions just because he so happens to also be a dictator, doesn’t that seem so…psychotic to even try to relate when it’s obvious that was never the intention? I mean look at this whole world of the show, it’s a futuristic jewelry space civilization filled with advanced technology and bright colors, how do you look at all of this and first thing that comes to mind is Nazi Germany? How do you look at a giant voluptuous white woman who’s existed for millenniums and think “yea that’s Hitler right there”, all because she’s simply a textbook definition of a dictator?
Tumblr media
Trying to make her whole country this flawless world where no one goes out of line and disallows any form of diversity? Like any typical villain? Is that really all it takes to be considered as “animated Hitler”?
Does that mean the abandoned flawed gems in the abandoned Kindergarten that Steven and Lars met at the very bottom of Homeworld are supposed to be a reference to Anne Frank’s family hiding from nazis? One would say that’s a massive stretch to make and they’d be right, cuz it is…just like what people say about White Diamond.
These kinds of massive stretches and comparisons have been made in the past constantly, and for what? To gang up on a show that just wanted to teach kids the values of showing love and positivity, being there for your friends and families and trying to accept people’s flaws or differences in how they live? To make excuses to be blatantly anti-semetic towards the Jewish person who created this show? All because over shit like the fanbase was infamous at one point for how they treated each other and the show producers or because the ending wasn’t how many wanted it to be or how it debatably pushes the idea of positivity way too much in places where it shouldn’t try to?
At what point do people who criticize this show for it’s apparent farfetched ideologies of being kind to everyone, start sounding farfetched themselves for making these insane leaps in logic to make a blatantly slanderous argument and label on the show? If something like “White Diamond is supposed to be Gem Hitler” is something many easily gave into believing, what kind of fucked up comparisons would people make next about the entirety of Homeworld or gems as a species till these start to sound like psychotic conspiracy theories?
————————————
Steven Universe is no doubt a flawed show, I won’t deny that, will never deny that. As much as I defend the ending and go against how people have slandered the show, I can admit stuff could’ve been done better. However, like I’ve said at the beginning, I fail to see how all the hate the show’s gotten for years has ever been deserved or warrented. It’s clear that even with its flaws in storytelling, pacing, (sometimes animation), there is still so much to love about this show. It’s characters, it’s music, it’s themes, it’s lore, etc. There’s good reason as to why people love and still fondly remember it and consider it to be just as important as the other shows that brought in this renaissance era for Cartoon Network (Gumball, Regular Show, and Adventure Time).
After all, just like what the ending taught people, things aren’t always going to be perfect, and that’s ok. Flaws make things what they are, and unless said flaws actively have negative effects on things, there’s no reason to fight against them so excruciatingly. We may strive hard for perfection and flawlessness, to be considered perfect or for a thing we like to be considered perfect, but at some point, trying to do so much just to achieve said perfection will down the road start to become an issue and affect ourselves and the ones around us, the ones we love.
When you think about it, a lot of what has happened within the fanbase and the critics of the show mimic similar attitude to White Diamond. This want for perfection, for nothing to be going out of line, but all it’s done is damage the show’s reputation to many.
Fans on here long ago harassing an artist for the way they drew one of the characters of the show as she wasn’t in this “perfect” body shape they wanted her in. Or harassing producers of the show for how they’d handle things like (iirc) Lapis and Peridot’s “relationship” because it didn’t match their “perfect” connection between the two, and more.
On the other side, critics like the infamous Lily Orchard blasting the show for not being this “perfectly” told story and going out of her way to make these insane comparisons to have some leverage in this giant attack on the show and what it stands for.
These wild and out of pocket attempts to make everything perfect for the show, and what has it done? It heavily soured how people view the show, making people want to stay away from getting into it as from the POV of the outside looking in, it’s a whole rabbit hole they probably shouldn’t get into…for their sake of their mental health. This mindset to be caught up in selfish outlandish views of what’s deemed as being perfect has only made things worse for everyone on every side of discussion on this show. And while as of lately things seem to be recovering, as more people are giving the show a second chance and realizing how messed up people like Lily Orchard were, still the effects of what happened back in the mid-late 2010s are noticeable in some areas.
——————————
If it gets to a point where we’re fighting a flaw that barely affects anyone, is it really a flaw that is that important or even a flaw at all to begin with? We can strive to be better people and learn from mistakes, but a perfect person who can do no wrong is just impossible.
Flaws are what help make everything feel unique in it’s own right. That’s not to say some flaws can’t be acknowledged and called out, but as for flaws that sum up to “someone/something is different from what I expected”, it seems over the top to go so hard to fight against it, as we’d be fighting against having diversity among each and every one of us.
If every pork-chop were perfect, we wouldn’t have hot dogs.

Hey its me again, i've been away from tumblr for...ehe *look's at my marked calendar* i've been away for two day's just to go to manila and back home, another two day's for a break then today, i made one art specifically for a continuation for turi'vistain and polaroid secret friendship bond to grow! The redesign for turi is in full swing too! How about we make a three week's timeskip?
─────────ೋღ 🌺 ღೋ─────────
Its been a three week's since polaroid has gotten the necklace, sawmus decided not to worry after nothing bad happen's for two week's and helped polaroid attached the necklace on polaroid, it looked quite fancy on polaroid, but ever since he had it attached, he has been feeling quite strange, like someone or something was mad at the necklace, today, foley ((hope i spelled his name right)) and his group had just found an abandoned facility and has found potion with a note, the ption's liquid was like the galaxy, though it looked like it was inside a view of a nebula, the cap for the potion was wood while it was covered in cotton place with a cream colored fabric, the note was neatly written in normal writing
Though it did caught polaroid's curiosity, since whenever polaroid get's close to the potion, the necklace's unknown gem would glow a warm violet color mix with a dark blue hue, though foley did decide to show polaroid the note, the note ↧
- "if anyone found this potion, pls be wise on using it, you won't be able to multiple it, the potion can heal bad or small injured wound's in a blink of an eye, alive or not, it can still heal the wound's, it would also have the affect's of ↦ heighten sense of hearing, smell and sensitivity of touch ↤ but its harmless if used on a harmless or truth worthy being, it only hurt's the hamrful being's, and if anyone if friend's with a being with a necklace that has an unknown gem, pls give this to them, they are seen as a worthy being to be seen as a great holder for the potion" -
- "sincerely: turi'vistian or turi for short" -
Though confusing foley decided to ask sawmus to check the necklace's unknown gem despite polaroid trying his best to process on what the note said, sawmus decided to use small drill's to make a peice of the unknwon gem to fall or crack which all left with a fail, it look's like polaroid had an indestructible necklace with him and a potion now, though polaroid do felt weirdly safe whenever the necklace glowed with the sane warm voilet and dark blue hue's every time he felt unsafe in his room or when his doing his job
─────────ೋღ 🌺 ღೋ─────────
Here is what the potion look's like, i had to use some light color's but the color's used are, light yellow, light purple and light dark blue
Tumblr media
I think we both can work our way on making polaroid and turi's friendship bond grow only even its just little
It’s an interesting concept, but what really is the mysterious corruption? Why is it targeting Polaroid’s universe? What are the intentions of the corruption?
Also how did Turi just leave a potion at a random location? If she planned the entire thing, how did she know Foley is going to that location? The members of the Film Industry rarely go outside of base, except in special occasions such as they are needed for emergency backup or assist in battle, or they need to do research and observations on the battlefield. In all these circumstances, they always need clearance and permission from the alliance science department. I’m not judging, but there are some potential plot holes in the story.

I am about to infodump about why steven universe has BPD (and cptsd but thats canon)
later in the series and in SU future is when all the trauma has already happened and hes finally safe is when it manifests itself heavier. hes very people pleasing, putting other peoples needs ahead of himself, even if the other person is in the wrong, his emotions spiral so out of control that he becomes corrupted or goes "pink mode", he has identity issues (bc of constantly being told hes his mother) to the point where he cant tell if he is her, if he is himself, if hes a he, if hes a she, if hes a gem or if hes a human, good or evil, etc.
has bursts of intense anger and feelings of guilt, would go to any length to keep people in his life (connie for example) and when she rejected his proposal his symptoms spiraled out of control, which is typically what happens w bpd, its triggered, his symptoms started presenting when he hit 16 / SU future. as for the ptsd though thats actually canon, there is an episode where he visits the doctor and she doesnt directly call it ptsd but shes asking him about his trauma and how far back it stems from (and he begins recalling traumatic events starting all the way from the beginning of the series to the middle of the series before connies mom interrupts him and tells him that he p much has c-ptsd) and steven starts having intense flashbacks and then falls into an episode when he is reminded of connie rejecting his proposal, his body starts physically reacting to it as if its happening again. (which by the way the proposal was very impulsive and spontaneous and mainly based in fear of abandonment, and solidified when garnet agreed. very bpd like.)
he views small issues as life threatening, which is seen in ptsd and bpd. hes been in a constant state of trauma since childhood, never knew his mom and constantly i n peril fighting monsters he doesnt even know the origin of protecting himself from a battle his mother forced him into, bpd and ptsd are inherently traumagenic. he changes himself and overextends himself to fit other people's perception of what he should be or to fit his own idea of perfection, hes terrified of being alone and will go to any lengths to keep his loved ones around him.
when people offer him support he pushes it away because he doesnt want to burden his loved ones with his problems or intense emotions or trauma. in fact, he bottles it up SO much that he falls into an episode where he starts fixing other peoples problems to distract himself from his own, as if fixing other people will in turn fix himself, which only makes it worse and worse until he explodes. he talks about how hes worthless, how hes a bad person, how he doesnt deserve his loved ones, and then becomes corrupted when the trauma become too much for him gem to handle anymore. (Him splitting on himself after bottling his feelings up for so long)
this was only soothed when his loved ones reminded him how much he was loved and cared for. he lacked a voice his whole life and once jasper taught him to fight and defend himself and he became all big and strong his personality changed completely and he ended up becoming aggressive in the same way jasper was and literally purposely and v violently shattered her because of it (which is obviously very out of character for steven who has healing powers)
he also takes control of and attempts to shatter white diamond when he has trauma flashbacks to her almost killing him despite working through those issues previous
he has a "the grass is greener on the other side" mindset
He has bouts of uncontrollable rage because he has no form of grasp of his emotions due to alienating them.
He creates narratives sticks to them then he is unable to change these thought processes.
after shattering jasper he has an intense panic attack, thinking he is a violent killer or bad person, his guilt spirals and he makes a very desperate and emotional attempt at bringing her back.
he also takes control of and attempts to shatter white diamond when he has trauma flashbacks to her almost killing him despite working through those issues previous.
he has a "the grass is greener on the other side" mindset
He has bouts of uncontrollable rage because he has no form of grasp of his emotions due to alienating them.
He creates narratives sticks to them then he is unable to change these thought processes.
He creates a happily ever after in his mind and then when the outcome isn't perfect or what he imagined he freaks out.
he has frequent flashbacks to issues from his past and tends to block the thoughts out when they show up or dissociate himself from them, or, alternatively, he hyper-fixates on them so much that it takes over every aspect of his waking life. he also thinks in black and white a lot, with things being either all good or all bad, and becomes paranoid about other peoples intentions or the way they perceive him. he also is CONSTANTLY on edge expecting bad things to happen and prepares himself for danger that might not even come.
Also throwback to the time where he crashed the car and split on his dad when he realized his dad got the childhood he always wanted and that he was neglected, he quickly went from idealizing his dad to feeling spiteful toward him and putting their own lives in danger.
also the time when he realized all of his friends were moving on without him and subconsciously trapped them in a giant bubble that he had no control over
oh and the NIGHTMARES!!!
- sincerely, a Steven kinnie with BPD and C-PTSD. (Cross-Posted)

Please please what are your thoughts on the final boss of the epilogue, I got spoiled on day one and have been waiting for you to see it in game before I asked because it's just so cool and your stuff is all so cool and I want to know your thoughts and potential lore
SO this is quite a lot! My method for handling new info is to take what works and leave what doesnt. Canon is a suggestion, not a rule.
About the Crown:
Mistellin was originally made to seal away Termina (the dark heart pf which was rampaging around the galaxy) and use its power to fight against it, but only a shard of It was captured. Seeing that the shard still held incredible power, the Ancients decided to use It's power for good instead of destruction.
Monarchs have worn the Crown, but several of the weak willed fell to Its influence and used it for their nefarious ends ("It strengthens the darkness in the wearer's heart..." so its Power at a price. The reason why the Crown's claws constrict corrupted souls like Magolor Soul is for damage control). Why the Halcandrans continued to use this Crown I can only assume to be survivorship bias/majority chosen did not fall...until the last king of Yore, who was possessed by Termina midfight in the war to seal It away. (The magitech civil war happened a little after this, as the loss of the monarch due to misunderstood Dark Matter magic research/practice raised tensions between magic practitioners and the tech faction.)
How the lore changes affect my telling:
Why the past monarch chose Mags as successor then (a story beat in my interp of things) -- well he didnt have much of a choice at first. The shards of the damn relic rooted itself on Mags' head. Literally. (Thanks Termina.) The dark entity did nothing but send waves of searing energy through the Crown shards to cripple him, to prevent him from stealing the Rejuvenating Crystal Fruit that It plans to use for Itself. (Dunno what this fruit is in canon, but judging from what the fragments of it do to Mags -- I assume its an Ancient artifact that holds an insane amount of energy. Gem apples exploding is a convertion of his high energy supposedly used to heal, to fuel a more destructive outcome. What can heal/restore can also destroy.)
*What Mags does in Epilogue is what I can simply say as "gathering painkillers". The magic energy he stores up allows him to block out/create a dam against Termina's crippling energy waves, and also allows him to do more powerful, complicated spells in the process. (No wonder one of his emotes is him crying.)
After Magolor Disrespects the Lorax by slicing a tree in two, the voice goes MUCH quieter. The tree (and the Doomer) held majority of the Crown shards -- by destroying them, Termina's way of communicating with him grows weaker. But not fully gone. (He cries in the end bc its sweet, sweet, relative silence...)
Did Mags learn his lesson? Not yet. If anything, his ego is the size of a galaxy now, bc he killed an eldritch god on his own. Without Kirby's help.
Im going to set Clash aside bc jfc that looks complicated as hell. The only thing Im taking here is the fact that he set up a Shoppe in Dreamland (no alternate realities here either -- itll complicate things)...but its not exactly a fresh new start just yet. Hes doing this to gather Nova parts easily. What better way to get parts and artifacts without raising too much suspicion than by trade? (His full redemption happens after Robobot, in the Nova Incident. Which is another thing I wrote)
Back to the previous monarch choosing him as a successor. Termina kept It's clutches on Mags. The Crown has rooted itself deep into his soul enough that hes still at risk for easy possession. SA rolls around, and Termina is supposedly at It's strongest.
Mags doesnt get possessed. Out of sheer spite and will alone he keeps the gate on the Crown's power and influence shut. Hes not going to fall, not again, not when he finally has something, and (several) someone(s), to care about. At the end, its him who deals the final blow on Termina in his mindscape, as he is yhe one who holds the last fragments of It's consciousness.
Free at last.
This is what makes the King of Yore choose him as an heir. He couldve decided to trap the dark entity in the Crown, like intended, and kept it fed so the Crown's power will never run out. But he chose not to...not wanting to suffer any longer nor make anyone else potentially suffer what he had.
He freed both himself and the Crown. Now the power that sleeps within is clean, with no Dark Matter almost guaranteeing a corruption.
* If anyone falls with this version of the Crown, it is not bc of any Dark Matter. Thats on the bearer's character/lack of control. Mags still losing it in Overlord form time and again shows that....

[Previous Part]
It was almost 2 am., Katherine had already gone to bed, and Gem continued to work on a potion or spell that could help Shrub.
"Why are you trying so hard to help her?" Fwhip said from the doorway.
Gem didn't stop working on the potion she had been brewing. "Because, she deserves to be helped. To be saved."
Fwhip grabbed her by the shoulder, and turned her around on her chair. "You already told me that. Now I want to know the why she deserves it? Why does she deserves it after everything she has done?"
Gem glared at him, and sighed. "Shrub is in this state not by her own will, since she was corrupted by Xornoth, she hasn't been able to get free to live on her own accord."
"Gem, Xornoth has been locked away for weeks now. Joey got uncorrupted, and apparently she did too, she is no longer being controlled by him, whatever she has done from there on, has been by her own acco-"
"You are wrong." Gem interrupted him. "Yes, Xornoth is no longer controlling her, but he made sure to still affect her. Corruption works twisting the mind of the person, and that manifest in the form of constant voices that doesn't allow the person to think for themselves. And it hurts."
Fwhip huffed, and watched directly at her eyes. "And how are you so sure?"
Gem hesitates, before turning back to the potion. "..I've done a lot of research."
"Liar." Fwhip calls her out. "Tell me the real reason."
The wizard sighs in defeat. "Fine. Do you remember when Scott accidentally froze me?"
"Well, yeah. That was like. Recently. And I'm still mad at him for it." Fwhip shrugs.
Gem looks back at her brother. "Fwhip he didn't mean to- alright, whatever. So Shrub-"
Fwhip interrupts her. "I thought you went to Katherine like I said?"
Gem looks away. "Well...kind of. I was handling it fine on my own, and Shrub needed to be taken care of, so I was helping try to capture her, but she ended up using my dark magic book to cast a spell to corrupt me as well."
"That little-" Fwhip turns towards the door she was being kept in, but Gem grabs his arm as tight as she could.
"Fwhip! Let me finish. It actually healed me of the cold, but there were all these voices, and they twisted my thoughts and.. and made me feel like I wanted to kill everyone, destroy everything. I'm fine now, see?" She does a little spin, showing off how not frozen or corrupted she was.
"But-"
Gem shushes him. "It helped me to understand. She's a victim. Just like I was. Her corruption is just...a little more buried I guess."
Fwhip shakes his head, still angry, turning to open the door where Shrub was. "I'm gonna kill her."

Power Rangers Jungle Fury but they're Space Rock People
Because this came to my mind for some reason, have a random PRJF AU wherein the cast is a bunch of Gems, taken from the game Gem Galaxies which is inspired by SU.
Tumblr media
Casey Rhodes - Cherry Quartz Cut 1CR. Forming as a Defective Quartz soldier, Casey was assigned to the Pai Zhua Combat and Containment Facility to be taught how to be a better soldier in order to better protect the rest of Gemkind against some of the contained enemies within the Facility. After only a few months, however, catastrophe struck, as one of the largest contained forces of the Facility broke free. 1CR took the place of one of the Facility's best who was to receive the Facility Guardian title, and he along with 2 other Gems were placed into a.. Special, programme, ran by an oddball Gem that provided the trio with powers Gemkind had never seen before, and placed into the position of leader. Though lacking a LOT of self-confidence, 1CR tries to prove he has potential despite being labelled as Defective.. And eventually, Casey gains the courage to go and retrieve the Gem who'd been taken and turned against Pai Zhua, and who he'd replaced.
Tumblr media
Theo Martin - Willemite Cut TM02. A Fluorescent technical specialist, though TM09 started out initially as just another Willemite, one day his work skills and intelligence suddenly spiked in improvement, and he joined the Combat and Containment Facility not long after this improvement was noted. Theo became one of the best in the Facility, capable of both technological prowess and also defending himself and others with what he has, and such prowess earnt him the Facility Guardian title. Uptight, a perfectionist, and by-the-law, he butts heads with 1CR a lot as a Defective Gem being in charge, but ultimately comes to respect the Quartz.
Tumblr media
Lily Chilman - Sandstone Cabochon 3L. A perky and energetic coloniser, she joined the Combat and Containment Facility seeking to do more with her life beyond terraforming the sands of planets. She earnt the title of Facility Guardian in time as her combat capabilities improved beyond what was expected for a coloniser Gem, and as she incorporated her love of dance and sand-manipulation abilities into her fighting. Unlike her fellow Guardian and close "friend", Theo, Lily was always very friendly to Casey and was happy with him being the leader, though she was also always somewhat concerned he'd been handed too much responsibility so soon after forming and joining the Facility.
Tumblr media
Robert James "RJ" - Peridot Cut 04RJ. The oddball and Off-Coloured Peridot of the Combat and Containment Facility, who was given their Promoted Rank and separate branch of the Facility to conduct their work in. Though they come off as initially serious, they're actually a very jovial and friendly Peridot, who doesn't let being different deter him.. Not anymore, at least. When the Combat and Containment Facility is struck, Casey, Theo, and Lily are all sent to him to receive his guidance and technological assistance, and RJ provides the trio with a new experimental programme he's been working on, giving the group their morphers which enhanced them with unique organic-esque abilities, and the strength needed to fight the released enemies and dangers. RJ joins them eventually himself.
Tumblr media
Dominic Hargan - Titanium Cut 5DH. A large and intimidating Metal who in actuality, while strong and tanky, is a friendly jokester of a goofball. Initially sent to the Combat and Containment Facility to improve his behaviour and make him less of a jokester, he was assigned to RJ's branch to aid him in his research, and the two became firm friends. After a rebel attack left Dominic severely dented, cracked, and damaged, he was sent away for the sake of his recovery. After fully healing and gaining the support he needed to prevent corrupting due to the severity of the attack, 5DH returned to continue helping his friend, and ultimately joining the Ranger team.
Tumblr media
Fran - Orange Spinel Cut 6OF. A Spinel who, while able to cheer up and please the people, suffers from an unnatural amount of anxiety and nerves that Spinels don't tend to have. She encountered RJ one day when he was out of his workplace and the two became friends, RJ supporting the Spinel despite her anxieties and eventually inviting her to be in his branch, where she could feel a bit safer. She initially was kept in the dark on his experimental programme due to the nature of the programme and technology itself, but she eventually finds out, and stays supportive.
Tumblr media
Jarrod - Gold Cut J6K. A masc-presenting Gold, and a once great Aristocrat within the Combat and Containment Facility. He was sent to the Facility upon forming in the Kindergarten, and has remained there since. Initially, J6K was a somewhat reserved Gem, much unlike the many other Golds of Gemkind, and having been already different due to how he presented himself, the Gold was teased and tormented. Though he made friends in the Titanium 5DH that was sent to the Facility himself, Jarrod found himself alone when Dominic was damaged in a major attack and sent away for recovery. And something within him snapped. The Gold became haughty and rude, and though that was typical for Golds, Jarrod also proved to be more.. Violent, than others. Though he fought his way to the Facility Guardian title, he never got to keep it due to his behaviour, as it was decided he'd be sent away from the Facility himself to elsewhere.
Tumblr media
This was what allowed one of the most dangerous captures of the Containment Facility, a violent and malicious Rebel Platinum, Dai Shi - draconic in appearance and who saught revenge, to lure Jarrod with temptation. The Gold ended up forcibly fused with the Platinum, and though their fusion was immensely unhealthy and harmful, Dai Shi refused to let him go almost like a parasite, dragging him to his old Rebel hideaway by force and surrounding him with old "friends" Dai Shi knew; It took until he was given the strength needed by others, that Jarrod was able to escape the fusion. In the end, the Platinum Dai Shi was shattered after they fully corrupted into a horrific dragon entirely.
Tumblr media
Camille - Chameleon Green Pearl Model 9CA. A Pearl, one of thousands among the Gempire, made to serve others. She was plucked out by Dai Shi centuries ago, dragging the Gem into his combat and his schemes which eventually grew rebellious. Camille was enamoured with the Platinum who'd taken her, and though her Pearl coding told her to report the rebellious Gem, she never did; The promises of love he gave, and the overwhelming loyalty and need to serve him that he reinforced, caused her to stay by his side eternally. Upon Dai Shi's capture, she stayed at their old hidden away rebel base, waiting for his return.. Only to fall in love slowly not with Dai Shi, but with the Gold he had forcibly fused with to be able to return and escape containment.

Explosions Across Lifetimes - Chapter Eighteen: Quiet Confrontations - 3k words
Sausage needs to have a talk with two people. It probably goes better than any of them were thinking, a lot calmer too.
A03 Link
Playlist
A few days later Fwhip is sat in his study, humming to himself absentmindedly, fiddling with one of his redstone crystals. The very project he’d been trying to work on for a little while now. The things had been mostly successful at driving off the corruption, and had given his empire an easier time doing so than a few others. The main problem was how much redstone, and how much careful tinkering with the red dust, was required to make them. They had needed to use them sparingly when clearing out the corruption, the people and Fwhip having to do a fair amount of the work by themselves. Clara had especially hated the work, and her half hearted complaints had been amusing to hear. She “wasn’t much for gardening,” as she has put it, so digging around for roots wasn’t one of his friend's favorite activities.
Now Fwhip was sat at his desk, trying to brainstorm new ways to use these little crystals. Redstone itself was already used to power things, and he was wondering if his crystals could provide an even more powerful and effective version of what the regular dust could do. These things he’d made were already so unique, so one of a kind. It would be a shame to only have one really specific use for them in the end.
As he fiddled with the crystals he slowly started to realize how uncomfortable this chair was for his back, and grumbled something quietly to himself. He’d had some moderately serious back pain since the arena fight, and had hoped it was just a part of the healing process.Though all that stuff should’ve been mostly fixed with all the potions he was fed before. Maybe there were still some leftover sprains, or fractures. Something like that, he didn’t know how backs worked. And yes, maybe the Count was using that as an excuse to ignore it, but he’d told himself if it got any worse he’d do something about it. Eventually.
His thinking session was interrupted by Clara’s familiar call, and a knock at the door of his study. The Count had a visitor it seemed, and he didn;t mind it too much at the moment. Maybe he could come up with a better use for his crystals later, since his brain was currently more than a little empty for ideas.
Fwhip stood from his chair, not knowing who to expect when he opened it. Last time he’d thought it was Sausage, or Gem, but then his codboy had gone and surprised him. And ok, maybe part of him was hoping that would happen again, but he wasn’t disappointed to see his brother’s face on the other side of the door. He was the opposite of disappointed, in fact, he was a little excited. If Sausage was able to travel, he had to be healing well!
“Hey buddy!” The Count smiled, flashing a toothy grin at Mythland’s King. The other had said he’d visit as soon as possible, and it seemed said visit had come sooner than he’d expected. “You doing good?”
Sausage gave a little chuckle, and smiled back. “As good as I can right now!”
“That’s good, that’s good!” Fwhip purred, tail curling up behind him unconsciously. “Come in! Come in!” He opened the door further, scooting to the side a bit to let Sausage path. The brunette, well accustomed to Fwhip’s manor, shuffled inside the room without much protest. Though he did notice the slight tension in his brother’s shoulders, and Fwhip frowned slightly at the sight.
“Sooo, why’re you here?” He asked, pulling out a spare chair for the other, one much nicer than his own desk chair. Sausage gave a grateful nod, and basically slumped into the seat as he did so. Fwhip had to wonder if the brunette was still a bit weak after all.
“Here to like, talk about some stuff. Ya know, all the things I kinda did.” Sausage’s smile turned into a strained one as he spoke, and Fwhip’s frown deepened.
“Yeah,” He huffed. “ That stuff.” The half dragon scooted his own chair closer to Sausage, just a bit away from his desk, before plopping himself down in it.
Sausage wasted no time, getting straight to the point. “I’m sorry.” He said, gaze fixed firmly in his lap. “I kinda attacked everyone a lot, sided with a demon because I wanted power, accidentally set you guys up in a death trap, tortured our sister, almost got your boyfr-”(hes rambling)
“Stop.” Fwhip cut off him before he could speak anymore, and Sausage looked up at him. His expression was slightly surprised, and he probably wanted to protest and keep talking, but the Mythlander kept quiet instead.
“You did most of that stuff when you were possessed, or… whatever the other thing was,” Fwhip began, making sure his voice stayed gentle. “It’s not your fault, you didn’t know what you were doing, did you?”
“Not until afterwards, no. I was kinda horrified when I found out later I gotta be honest.”
“Then it’s fine.” Despite Fwhip’s firm tone, Sausage’s gaze still held traces of doubt. Like he was still convinced that it wasn’t fine, and the Count had a feeling that issue wouldn’t be going away anytime soon.
“And Jimmy he’s…he’s not my boyfriend .” The Count added, feeling how his face turned slightly pink at the explanation, one he probably wasn’t wording very well. “We’re not…. there yet.” Sausage blinked, and then nodded. He was curious naturally, but knew it wasn’t his place to press further.
“I’m sorry for being stupid and power hungry then.” The Mythlander continued his earlier thought when Fwhip was done speaking. His voice had been low, somber and laced with guilt since he sat down; a strong contrast to its usual boisterous tone. “And all the stuff I did when I wasn’t possessed too…”
“Thanks for it.” Fwhip smiled, yet Sausage still looked doubtful.
“Are you sure about…accepting my apology n’ all that?” His voice was so unsure, so fragile that it hurt. Sausage seemed so sure he didn’t deserve to be friends with them again or something, and Fwhip hated that. He loved the guy, but this was one of the stupidest things he’d ever been convinced of, right up there with the very demon that brought them here.
“Why wouldn’t I?” He asked, claws absentmindedly tapping against the arm of his chair, the Count trying to make it look more like an idle thing then let his slight frustration leak through.
“Because I did horrible things, tried to help a demon destroy the world.” Sausage’s response came far too fast for Fwhip liking, and all he could do was stare at Mythland’s King while he gathered his words.
“I forgive you because you feel bad about it. And because you’re basically my brother.” Sausage looked like he wanted to say something more, maybe protest again, but his mouth stayed firmly shut. No more words came to either of them, and the topic was eventually changed.
“What was that other thing, anyway? The not demon possessed one?” Fwhip asked, voice turning from a more serious tone to a curious one. He’d never really been told what that was all about, and was still confused by what Gem meant about all that aura stuff.
“Long story short, basically the evil part of my soul that got stronger when Xornorth started doing stuff. Whenever that part took control I blacked out.” Well, out of all the explanations the half dragon had been thinking to hear when he asked the question, that certainly wasn’t one of them. If anything he was betting on another demon or something, like some kinda Xornoth minion.
“You have so many evil problems man.” Fwhip shook his head, in disbelief. How this guy managed to get basically possessed twice, he would never know. Maybe his brother was just like, an evil magnet or something. That would seem about right.
“Tell me about it!” Sausage let out a small, genuine giggle at that. The two men fell into a comfortable silence for a few moments, both of them alone in their own thoughts while they searched for something to say. And it was the Count who broke it first, his voice gently when he next spoke.
“I’m glad you're back, really, I am.” Fwhip felt like they were repeating this part of the talk with that, but didn’t mind. He truly was glad Sausage was back with them, for he didn’t know what he would’ve done if the other had stayed gone for good.
“Me too.” Sausage smiled. “God, I missed you guys sooo much!” Fwhip couldn’t help but let out a giggle at that. It was then Sausage finally noticed all the redstone on his desk, and asked what the Count had been working on. Fwhip, who had been kinda waiting for his brother to ask about that, went on a rant almost immediately. And kept going until he ran out of thoughts about the little crystals, Sausage adding in little comments and ideas in between, and just overall fueling his fire for a little bit.
“I saw Gem yesterday, hung out at the Cliffs for like twelve hours. Doing stuff just like we used too.” Sausage found his next topic with a hum. Stuff they used to do was just…normal hanging out, helping Gem with a spell sometimes even. It hadn’t been all that long ago either, less than a year since the three of them had time to hang out, and Fwhip mourned that they hadn’t been able to do so recently.
“Was there more talking?” He asked, and noticed how Sausage’s face fell a bit.
‘Yeah, there was” The other just looked off to the side for a moment, and the Count had to imagine it was one of the harder conversations he’d needed to have.
“You have a lot of that to do, don’t you?” Fwhip smiled lightly, standing and moving closer to Susage’s chair. If the Count had to do that many emotional talks he’d think he’d start to lose it a bit, honestly. Sausage was just lucky he was more of an embracing the negative feelings kinda guy.
“Looks like it.” His brother huffed, the small smile from before slowly creeping its way back onto his features. “But it's working! I think so anyways…”
“Why wouldn’t it work?” Fwhip smiled, and lightly jostled Sausage’s shoulder as he stood. The brunette rolled his eyes, and playfully shoved him in return. Fwhip just gave him one last push, and moved to put the spare chair back in it’s place.
“Speaking of talking, I was going to go see Jimmy later.” Sausage continued speaking as the Count put the item back in place, sounding apprehensive about the subject. “Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.” Fwhip said, now facing his brother again.
“Yeah..” Sausage just smiled back, and went to make his leave. The half dragon was a little sad the visit had to be cut so short, and hoped there would be another one fairly soon. He was already planning a surprise drop in to Mythland within the next week, and Sausage wasn’t even out the door yet.
“Say hi for me?” Fwhip asked, the other already opening the study door to leave before the half dragon could even blink. The man must be really nervous for that chat with Jimmy then, if he was in such a hurry to get it over with. He didn’t think Sausage’s visit to the Codlands would go horribly, but it could also not be a good one. He was hoping it ended up being a good visit, for both rulers' sakes. Before leaving the room, Sausage turned to beam at him. “Sure!” The brunette smiled, and went on his way to visit his neighboring emperor.
Jimmy wasn’t really expecting the person to be Sausage knocking on his door if he was being entirely honest about it. If anything, he was expecting Fwhip. Maybe even Lizzie. Yet Sausage stood outside of his front door when he opened it, in his usual Mythland robes, just lacking his signature crown for some reason.
“…Hi Jim!” The Mythlander’s greeting was awkward, and he stood far too still. Jimmy tried to stop himself from frowning at that. It wasn’t like Sausage to be so stiff, he was usually very animated, always moving around or making some sort of gesture. It just showed how unsure he was, like he didn’t think he had any right to be there, when he absolutely did. Jimmy was sure stares from his people hadn’t helped either.
“Relax man.” The blonde said, studying the other for a minute. Sausage did as he was told, to the best of his ability anyways. His posture was more lax than before, but his shoulders remained stiffened. “What're you here for?”
“Figured we should probably talk. About stuff…” Sausage said, his awkwardness not having abated. Jimmy just held back a sign, and invited him in. Sausage seemed more relaxed in the privacy of the cod’s house, but there was still a noticeable tension in the air.
“So….whaddya wanna talk about?” Jimmy asked, after telling Sausage it was okay if he sat on the couch, and after hastily preparing some tea he had lying around. Making the tea was probably busy work, something to calm his nerves, and it was absolutely just stalling; but he did it anyways.
After Sausage takes the tea, he sits next to the other ruler on the couch, and cannot miss the way the man stiffens and scoots away, as if he’s scared of hurting the cod. And Jimmy kinda gets it, because he’s shuffling away as well.
Jimmy finds himself studying Sausage carefully, the cod inching closer to where he keeps his trident. Even if the weapon is still halfway across the room. Logically, he knows this is not the man who attacked him, but part of his brain doesn’t. Part of his head still thinks he has to be wary, to watch for any sudden movement, any sign of aggression, when he doesn’t. It’s an understandable response considering the past few encounters with Mythlands King, but he can’t help but feel more than a little bad about it. Like really bad about it. This is a guy he wants to be friends with, after all.
“So, about the last time I was uh….at your house…” Sausage muttered, taking a small, awkward sip of the tea. His face didn’t contort in disgust, so at least Jimmy had made some good tea, even under stress.
“Yeah… that. ” Jimmy said, glancing between the drink in his hand and the person beside him. The blonde wished he had a warning when it came to these things sometimes, because he was not ready for all the emotional talk to just happen that day.
After a moment of silence a few more sips of his tea, Sausage continued. “Sorry for trying to, y’know. I never wanted to…do that, never thought about doing that, was horrified when I found out I almost did.” “You were like, possessed dude, I can’t be mad about that.” Jimmy huffed, noticing they had both almost drained each of their cups. Under any visit he would offer to get a refill for both of them, but this wasn’t really the time or place for such pleasantries. If he had to be honest, he was probably still a little upset about the whole murder attempt, but he knew it wasn’t Sausage’s fault, so he was trying to get over it. Really, he was, but it was just…hard too. Especially with the, erm, history the two of them had.
“But it still would’ve been my body doing it, even if it wasn’t me.” Sausage’s protest was weak, and it sounded like something that he was repeating the same words over and over again. Jimmy wondered how many people he’d said that too, and how many people had told him otherwise already.
“It’s okay man, really.” He said, putting his now empty cup down on the coffee table. Sausage just stared at him for a second, like he didn’t believe him.
“You sure?” He asked, and the cod nodded in conformation. Jimmy wasn’t sure if he was lying or not, or if he was just convincing himself that it was fine, but it felt like Sausage could see right through him.
The visit didn’t last much longer after that, the two of them only sharing a short conversation. Mythland’s King left within the hour, actually. It was late in the day, and Sausage said he’d been away from his empire for two long. He had visited Grimlands for a bit, apparently. The talk was short, but Jimmy could appreciate it nonetheless.
“Oh! I almost forgot!” Sausage smiled at him before properly leaving, the two of them now standing by Jimmy’s front door way, his eyes lighting up as if a lightbulb had gone off in his head. ”Fwhip says hi, by the way!” The brunette smiled at him when he spoke this time, one reminiscent of his normally beaming ones than any smile he’d had during the past few minutes, which was definitely a good thing.
“Does he?” The cod asked, feeling a little fuzzy at thought. Which was a bit silly of him, in his opinion anyways. What was he? A lovesick teenager?
“Yeah!” The grin on Sausage's face slowly turned more mischievous by the second, and Jimmy probably should’ve anticipated what was coming. The next words were very on brand for the Mythlander. “And he says that he loves you and he misses you-”
“ Sausage !” The blonde laughed, shoving the other out of his doorway and back outside. The Mythlander cut himself off with a fit of giggles, and managed to fly away before Jimmy could get another shove in. The Codfatther just shut his door, still laughing, and felt a bit lighter than he had a few minutes ago.

GEMCYT THINGS!!
came up with gemcyt versions of the friday night stabby crew, these are the only ones ive drawn so far (plus a fusion of joker and @chrisrin's scar)
astro is a nephrite, the captain of his ship (nephrite ships already canonically look like ufos go figure). he smuggled all his off-color friends off of homeworld in his ship and they go on space adventures together :)
joker is a half-organic (purple), half-artificial (green) spinel. for some reason he stopped when he was halfway formed, etho happened to stumble upon him, went "is anybody gonna finish this guy?" and didn't wait for an answer
spinel squared (or mega-spinel) would be a ringleader type of guy. here to entertain, but does what he wants. definitely has hammerspace in his top hat. their fusion dance would be the lindy hop (and i am totally not working on animating this right now...👀)
more info about the other guys i haven't drawn under the cut (including etho and impulse cause their fns versions have a different vibe from hc or the life series):
brody: blue quartz! he's technically not off-color or "defective" in any way, unless you count being besties with a nephrite
endless: iolite, his gem looks like space :) i have no idea what his deal is yet
evilnotion: obsidian! he got healed from corruption so i can give him horns. based on snowflake obsidian, not huge crystal gem fusion obsidian. gem is on his nose to look like a beak
mrs tango: cherry quartz! her gem is heart-shaped <3
etho: chrysocolla (there is actually a canon chrysocolla in the show, a corrupted gem that reminded me of among us so here we are), oversees/monitors the creation of new gems and makes sure everything is running smoothly. a bit of a mad scientist too
impulse: pyrite! probably an off-color who came out too big. idk what he does yet either
(skizz stays a topaz and tango stays a carnelian, but their story is probably different idk i havent read any gemcyt fics)
