Alright, Kunsel and his fusion with Zack!

Kunsel is melded with a sapphire, and though it doesn’t give him a weapon, he does get brief glimpses of the future. Usually it’s not very far, but sometimes he’ll get a glimpse of something in the distance, which is usually less helpful tbh. He also sustained a life-threatening injury that, were he not a LAPID, would’ve lost him his right eye or worse. He usually covers it up, but ever since the glimpses of the future have become more frequent.

He fuses with Zack to create Dumortierite! I was going for like, vigilante vibe, but somehow hit avid skier instead lol. Might try and redesign him later. Anyway! Dumor, knowing a lot and being capable of a lot, often puts those skills to use on the streets of Midgar, trying to help those in need, especially those below plate. He keeps his cards pretty close to his chest, which can make trying to work with others difficult.

Didn’t bother drawing Genesis or Angeal in more detail bc they’re rather unchanged, all things considered. Both were born with gems. Genesis however had a lot of health issues when he was a child bc of it, and Angeal was wisely debated to be a success or a failure due to how it doesn’t seem to affect his physical appearance much. Maybe he also can’t summon a weapon…?

Anyway, the two of them can fuse together to create Ametrine! They’ve been fusing into him since they were kids. Ametrine is a confident fusion who thinks he knows best about everything. He’s a rule follower, and hates to break them, but LOVES to find loopholes in rules to exploit. Can be a little mischievous because of this. I’m thinking he can summon knives?

More LAPID au :D

Zack was melded with an iolite gem, which appears on the back of his left hand.. His summon weapon is rather normal, a sword, but he wields it well. Fairly early on, he lost his right arm, which is now replaced by his gem, which he displays proudly.

Now if people think Zack’s a puppy, they’ve never met Labradorite! Though fusion seems to be an unreliable and strange phenomenon with LAPIDs, they often take advantage of the power boost when they can, and Zack particularly seems to have a knack for it.

Labradorite is a fusion between Zack and Cloud. He’s always eager to help others and prove himself, wielding a pair of axes. He struggles working with others, though, and often tries to shoulder burdens on his own, which considering his desire to save everyone he can, can cause him a lot of stress when he can’t.

Unfortunately, he never got to prove himself often.

I have fallen in love with LAPID-Cloud. I would kindly ask for more of him.

Hell yeah! Ask and ye shall recieve! I spent all night thinking about this au! I need to draw some fusions soon haha

Anyway, a few more doodles of cloud with thoughts! Still uncertain of his hair color, I keep messing around with it n harmonia looking ass

For LAPID, scars that are gained post-integration take on the color of the gem from the healing. LAPID are able to take a lot of damage, including loss of any limb o, and the limb will be replaced with a gem-created copy. Unlike clothes, though, the state of these limbs is a little less concrete; A LAPID's clothes will stick around if they're asleep, but the limbs will disappear.

Cloud's outfit is unconsciously mimicking Zack, though he's not aware of it. He's also not aware that having a crack in his gem isn't normal, nor do most people considering no one really knows much about gems. It's not doing him any severe damage - or not more than one can expect from Cloud's general state of being at all times - but it does stop him from summoning any kind of weapon.

Post-Healing (which would be his journey to the center of the mind w/ Tifa, though I'm still trying to figure out how that'd go) his outfit finally begins to change a bit to reflect himself a bit more, though he's still trying to figure out who that is, hence why it still resembles Zack a lot. At this point, he'd also be able to summon his own weapon, which is eventually tsurugi.

Also still trying to figure a lot of details. Was Sephritoh shattered, but shards of him ended up in a lot of LAPID or were purposefully put there? Is he not actually a gem, but some kind of manifestation of corruption? Does he just have op Diamond powers that allow him to control other gems kinda like white diamond did?

Alright fuck it gem au

Hundreds of years ago, Gaia was the battleground for a gem war, leaving behind many gem shards. Shinra has been messing around with gem shards to try and recreate gems, to only some success. SOLDIERs are called LAPID, who are humans that have been melded with reconstructed gems. These gems have a lot of power, but need to fuction with outside energy - like a human's life or something idk i'm still working on it.

LAPID are incredibly powerful from the gems. They don't poof if they take too much damage, but they may go catonic as the gemstone works on healing the wounds, and are generally pretty hard to kill. The process of becoming a LAPID leaves most with physical changes - like a chagne to hair or eye color, or sometimes even skin. LAPID can fuse with one another and with humans, and are suceptible to corruption, which happens frequently and can spread quickly if introduced to a big group. They manifest whatever clothes they want and have a weapon or power that came with their gem.

Cloud himself has an emerald gem that replaces one of his eyes. While he should be able to manifest a weapon, he doesn't and instead uses the buster sword.

Hey I saw your Sephiroth animatic sketch and then I cried for 1000 years and followed you and watched it again on youtube and cried for another 1000 years and subscribed to your channel to make sure I'll see it when you finish it so anyway if you needed a compliment on your art today here it is.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I'm really happy with a lot of the, like, scenes and transitions in it! I won't be finishing the animatic though - but hopefully (without putting pressure on her because she can do what she wants) @the-east-art will take over from here and make it look nice and pretty :D We've been kind of collabing like that recently. The two that we've done so far is Perception Check for FFVII - specifically Cait Sith - and I Did Not Account For This for KH, depicting the fall of Radiant Garden.
