The fic is spot on with both Tony and Pepper, it sparkles like hell as Tony tries to make a good Christmas for her, one that she would actually enjoy, and is very Tony Stark about it. Such a gorgeous fic! ✦ my life would suck without you by SHCombatalade, tony/pepper, ~1k    Tony Stark is terrible at apologizing. Luckily for him, Pepper is excellent at forgiving.    What a perfect and charming little fic about Tony being bad at apologizing but Pepper knows how to forgive, but the fic doesn’t in a way that’s so true to her character, how she’s still so sharp and amazing. They’re both amazing here and that made this fic utterly sparkle. ✦ A Day in the Life by PutItBriefly, tony/pepper, 1k    A day in the life of Tony and Pepper – a jumble of poor choices, hyper-focus and struggling to build something brand new with the person you love.    This is a short but lovely series of ficlets about the slice of life and character moments of Tony and Pepper, each of them a brief glance of characterization that was a great read today. ✦ Cornucopia Malibu by PutItBriefly, tony/pepper, 1.4k    Pepper takes Tony on a surprise outing.    There was something almost dream-like in this fic that I wouldn’t normally associate with Tony and Pepper, but this author makes it work beautifully. The quiet, laid back outing that Pepper chooses for them struck me as being very true to her character, but also the fic shows how this isn’t Tony’s element, but he can still be (mostly) comfortable and does a lovely job of showing why and how these two work. ✦ Eleven Other Bathrooms by PutItBriefly, tony/pepper, 2.1k    “It’s our five week anniversary,” he says, like its the most plainly obvious thing in the world. Their five week anniversary was three days ago.    This author has a talent for writing understated moments with these two characters, ones that are no less defining of their relationship but do not have to be loud to have weight. And that’s what I love about Tony and Pepper here, that it can be as simple as sharing a specific bathroom and yet there’s this quiet meaning in all of it. Beautiful. ✦ Someone I Used to Know by igrockspock, tony/pepper, 1.8k    Pepper doesn’t talk about home or family much, but that doesn’t mean Tony doesn’t know about them.    Oh, what a lovely look at Pepper’s character, a short but thoughtful piece on her childhood and the road to working for Stark Industries. There’s such a solidity to her character, both in a narrative sense and in a character sense, that was just so satisfying to read. ✦ Party of Two by igrockspock, tony/pepper, 1.8k    The first time Tony invites Pepper to a party, it’s a party in his pants. The invitations get better over the years.    More delightful Tony/Pepper that does a fantastic job of balancing Tony being a dick but also a good guy while also not forgetting how solid and sure Pepper is, too. The beginning is absolutely hilarious and then they have chemistry and it’s just really, really good. ✦ The Bodyguard by igrockspock, tony/pepper + clint + natasha, ~1k    Pepper needs a bodyguard, and Tony has the flu, so Clint reluctantly volunteers. Tony is not amused.    This is short and very light-hearted, as Tony’s too sick to be Pepper’s bodyguard, but refuses to admit it, so she ropes Clint in instead. For the first time in months, the only person she isn’t angry with is Tony.    Oh, this was a gorgeous fic that fits perfectly with where Tony and Pepper should be around the time of Civil War, the way I read this and saw it so easily and accept it as exactly how things went was fantastic. It’s definitely from Pepper’s POV, she doesn’t have all the information about Steve’s side, so it’s just about what she sees of Tony, but it works beautifully for that, her reactions are entirely understandable and she’s such an incredible person and the way she interacts with Tony is spot on. I see the people who were in love in IM3, but who have a complicated relationship at the moment, I love that the fic didn’t try to fix anything too quickly, but instead added greater context to it, all while being a fun, snappy read at the same time. There’s a ton of feelings here, Tony’s such a mess and Pepper really loves him, there are heartbreaking moments, but it’s also a fic that made me feel good after reading it and it was gorgeous for that.
