ok im loving autistic maia/maiaphael but friendship ended with autistic/adhd solidarity malec. my new best friend is autistic/adhd solidarity magnus&maia brotp!! possible thots: no idea how this go, but something (a spell to breathe underwater? a charm to help selkies? a special ocean potion ingredient?) magnus is hyperfixating on overlaps w maias special interest marine biology & just them in a booth in takis or hunters moon very passionately talking back and forth & sharing their interests 🥺

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my god okay but the spell to breathe/be able to see underwater maia would be ALL about that shit. there’s probably even a spell to make sure they don’t get wet like if they are uncomfortable with it sensorially lmao but anyway the point is, maia would basically be able to go swimming and see everything she fucking wants without having to worry about a thing!! especially since if i remember correctly she was kinda scared of going into the sea (she mentioned that “if i’m very adventurous, i might put an ankle” in that flashback) but like with this magnus gets to bring her underwater and let her see everything she wants live, and free from the possibly sensorially yucky sensation of being in the sea (i for one can’t stand it lmao) 

or even if she absolutely doesn’t want to go in no problem because magnus can just use a spell to show her what HE sees! maybe raphael even offers to go in and they can use like seelie rings or some shit so she can be like “omg can you check that reef for me? more to the left?? OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU JUST FOUND THAT I-” and she’s so excited about it and raphael is also happy because look when was the last time he swam? and i’m pretty sure he never got to see marine life up close so like, this rules actually. even if i think he would have a kidna low energy to keep going, he enjoys it, and he’s more than happy to get to hear the way maia is so excited about that

anyWAY my point is, one way or the other the idea has her ABSOLUTELY STOKED and just immensely excited and just aaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the two of them meeting up at the jade wolf to talk about this and magnus is like in full lecture mode sharing graphics and his research and explaining everything to her in detail, and maia is just vibrating with excitement, and raphael is just watching them both with the fondest smile because his dad and his gf get along so well and they both look so happy and the sun is hitting his face and this is heaven. he doesn’t give a lot of input because it’s more Their Thing and he’s happy to just watch as they both nerd out to their heart’s content (lmao maybe catarina and madzie are also there? and catarina can help since she is a healer and understands magic that affects bodily functions better than magnus. and madzie is also a little genius cuz i said so so she also helps, even though she alternates between giving input and just zoning out and doing her own thing. but anyway my point with this is they’re all nerding out and raphael is mostly watching and feeling blessed and also giving madzie attention while the rest of them work on this project) 

and they just talk and talk and nerd out about it for hours and catarina and raphael have to be the Responsible Ones reminding them to eat and shit, but it’s the sweetest possible thing and they’re just so excited and also maia and magnus would work SO WELL together okay! and they are both so smart and know so much about what they’re talking about and just aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i love this!!!

Headcannon - For father's day, Raphael always gets Magnus some sort of small present and a card. The first time he did Magnus nearly cried.

Magnus when father's day rolls around:

doiajsaiuhadiusad really tho i mean we know that magnus has Many Downworlder Children but Raph is like. That’s His Son. like they lived together (all my hcs are the truth) and shit so he actually comes to like celebrate it with Magnus and it’s. sweet. especially since he doesn’t really get to celebrate most of family holidays (like Mother’s Day and such) and neither does Magnus

the first time was sweet because Raphael was kind of impulsively like “so can I come to yours on Father’s Day?” and then he’s super nervous like shit what the fuck??? does Magnus even think of him this way? is this weird? it’s definitely weird. oh fuck. does he even celebrate Father’s Day? i mean it was probably not a thing by the time he was born. fuck. fuck. *spirals into oblivion*

and Magnus looks up to him with a clear lump in his throat and those very hopeful but still somehow scared eyes of his and says “you... you want to?” and Raphael is like. “i mean of course. unless you think that’s weird or-” and Magnus is like “no. I’d. Love for you to come by on Father’s Day.” so Raphael does

and it’s weirdly emotional for the both of them in the sweetest way. raphael makes magnus a meal (he can’t eat by that time yet, so it’s bittersweet, but he still puts his all into it because Magnus deserves it, I’m thinking soto ayam again because idk it sounds like something Magnus would love and Raphael would want to honor his heritage too. and Magnus is thinking the same so he has Raphael’s favorite songs playing and it’s so sweet okay) and he also brings him a gift (for some reason i’m thinking that Raphael is the one who got him his M/B rings, because he’s like. I know that you when you picked this name you saw yourself in a terrible light and i want you to know that i love who you are and you should be proud of yourself. also they’re big and i know you love metal textures and heavy jewelry so i thought you’d like wearing them - cuz u know, sensorial stuff. and then raphael also gives him something of the santiagos that he has somehow, so magnus will remember that he’ll always be raphael’s family, and magnus hugs him and cries like, so much. they both do, really) 

and magnus also gets him something and raphael is outraged like. “it’s father’s day, not kid’s day” and magnus is like “it’s family day” and he gives him a nice vest that’s enchanted so raphael is always warm because he knows raphael hates the cold and the dumort isn’t exactly cozy. and raphael tears up 

(later he’s kind of like. i can’t believe you outdid my gift on your own day. and magnus is like, holding the rings, rolling them in his hands softly, and says “i don’t know what you’re talking about” because it really does mean so much to him, and raphael smiles and holds his hand and daisdaidhsaiudua)

anyway from them on it becomes a thing that on father’s day raphael will always come by and make magnus food, and they probably cuddle all afternoon because they both are touch starved bastards with hyposensitivity to pressure, and they talk and listen to music or watch something shitty they can both roast to death and it’s fun and sweet

a few decades later, however, once raphael is back from magnus’ he opens the dumort door (which is not cold anymore, it’s warm, because ever since he became clan leader he made the place cozy and comfortable and welcoming, and it feels so much like home) and his clan greets him with a “surprise!” and they have this huge meal (because at this point madzie has already made raphael the potion that allows vampires to eat, so they can all eat) and raphael is struck speechless and they’re like “what? after everything you’ve done for us, you think we wouldn’t honor you on father’s day?” and someone jokes that they should do it on mother’s day because raphael is such a mama hen and is always on their ass. and it’s not really that raphael is a father figure per se but he’s the foundation on which the clan family was built. he worked hard to make the dumort a nice, welcoming place, and to make sure all the vampires felt listened to and at home, and that everyone got along as much as possible. not to mention he’s always kept them safe and cared for them, and they want to do something to represent that. and raphael is super emotional. he doesn’t want them to see but they all see right through him

and from then on father’s day becomes more and more convoluted, what with all of the people they’ve kept under their wings and alec being in the picture and madzie wanting to come see her uncles and “big bro” after she and cat have a nice family celebration together. and it’s so lively and real and their hearts are so full. but at the end of the day it’s still the both of them in the sofa, cuddling together with a weighted blanket over them and talking shit about some terrible show, and it’s. really, really great
