[BotW/TotK Family and Legacy] - Ghost dad and son adventures in the Depths!
This is a little fun idea I had in mind while playing TotK as well as comic practice! For a bit of background, Link met his Dad's spirit in the Depths. His Dad (Jun) wanted to see his son again after striking a bargain with the Bargainer and goes on a mini-adventure in the Depths. Jun also sees his wife (Selene) through his son, especially now that Link's a young adult.
There's a lot more unspoken context for this but that's a Tedtalk for another day....hopefully. I built up so much of this family during the four years of waiting until TotK's release...

In TotK's past, the various leaders all had Zonai-style animal masks. Do you think they could have been gifts from Rauru (and do you think Ganondorf got one)?
There is no doubt in my mind that those were gifts granted by Rauru. However, I do not think that the gifts were given in the name of friendship; rather I think that they were given in the name of utility, once Ganondorf became a problem that was far too difficult for Rauru and Zelda to handle alone. It's interesting to me that these masks remain one of the pertinent links we have between Zonai tech and Sheikah tech. After all, the masks the sages wore would end up becoming the bestial mechanical form we know as the divine beasts, which are Sheikah tech, showing some form of influence from Zonai tech. This tells me that the masks are not just for aesthetic wear, but must have some sort of function to it. In BotW, the champion corresponding to the divine beast they piloted does have a link in some shape or form to the present sages, thus telling me that the champions of the divine beasts do also share ancestry or legacy with the ancient sages as their present counterparts do.
Now, where am I going with this? Well, going back to the beginning, the lore in TotK suggests that Rauru did not feel compelled to share his trove of secret stones to anyone beyond the Royal Family, namely his wife and his sister. I don't know if this would have extended to Zelda or not since she arrived in the past with a secret stone in hand already (which, personally, I feel like this fact alone should have concerned Rauru and Sonia more than it did). It is only after Ganondorf snatches a stone for himself and magnifies its power to its extremes that Rauru eventually reaches out for aid from the tribes that have allied themselves with his kingdom, offering them a stone in exchange for aiding him in the war against Ganondorf.
So now what's the deal with the masks? We know nothing of the sages, not even their name, only distinguishable by the tribe (ehem race) they represent and the mask they wear. With how long lasting the symbolism of the masks have been, that they superceded even knowing the name of the sage that bore it along with the existence of the secret stones, it tells me that there must be some form of obeisance or fealty tied to the mask. I think that, after seeing how Ganondorf effectively broke out of his control after seizing a stone, Rauru was possibly wary that, in this newly formed kingdom with fresh alliances, that other leaders may have felt compelled to attempt the same after seeing Ganondorf's example. I often also think of how Rauru claims confidently that even if he were not around that his kingdom and the peace it grants will last for centuries to come, so how does he go about ensuring that? Well, now that he has to distribute the one power that granted him the sort of influence that allowed him to settle himself as king, he also needs a guarantee that the word of the tribes that have vowed allegiance and fealty to Hyrule will be maintained. Therefore, I do think that the masks serve as some form of control or binding contract, tying the sages and their descendants in fealty to Hyrule in exchange for being granted a secret stone, that their power will not be used to break free of Hyrule but to oppose her enemy aka the Demon King. This continues to be the case in the future when Calamity Ganon becomes a problem and in the creation of the Divine Beasts, perhaps an extension of the legacy of fealty the sages had given to Rauru in exchange for having the power to protect themselves and the kingdom against Ganondorf.
All that said, I do not think Rauru gave Ganondorf one and I highly doubt Ganondorf would have accepted anything of the sort from Rauru. Even if I am incorrect about the purpose of the masks, it still blatantly served as a symbol of fealty to Hyrule, erasing the sages as nothing more than glorified soldiers and vassals to assist Rauru, and by extension, Hyrule. Ganondorf is fiercely proud of both himself, his own prowess, and his heritage, and I don't see him putting on the symbol of the kingdom he despises, the symbol that would essentially prove that his place in this world is to bow his head in obeisance.

femlink headcanons??
Only if you want
Well, my fem!Link isn't too different from her canon counterpart, other than how she's viewed by other people and how that affects her, so a lot of these can be applied to botw/totk Link in general lol.
-Loves Gerudo Town, Urbosa has practically adopted her, they went on molduga hunts pre-calamity, she passes on the legacy to Riju and becomes her white older sister. They go sand seal surfing a lot, Link even has her own sand seal that she leaves in the city when she's not there. She is well known among the Gerudo as the short hylian who carries around monster guts and is always willing to babysit.
-has primary custody of the goddess harp (yk bc of that one concept art of link playing it), and while she can't do any magic with it, she likes to play it when the world is too quiet or she's away from Zelda and is thinking of her.
-Mipha still has a crush on her but with her being both hylian and a woman it's extra forbidden. The Zora are a little more chill about her being a holy prophesized warrior, but not when it comes to marrying into royal families. They just aren't biologically compatible in any way so if they had anything going on it was brief and when they were both young.
-She almost killed Bozai, not like, she held herself back from slicing him in half, but like she beat him within an inch of his life in front of the Gerudo guards. He deserves it.
-Link takes every opportunity presented to her to carry Zelda around, If she falls asleep at her desk or needs help getting on her horse, or if she tripped on a rock, Link will not hesitate to scoop her up in her arms. She kinda loves demonstrating that she is in fact, very strong.
-Aside from the master sword, Link prefers claymores and lynel clubs over spears and shorter swords. While she does look strong, she doesn't look like she's supposed to be able to carry around a weapon and swing it around like she does, I mean, she's still short. No Link can escape that fate.
-Still suffers from the hero-typical mutism, she only really talks to people she really trusts or when she is absolutely pissed. While it's not originating from the pressures of everyone's expectations, it's still bad enough that it affects her everyday life. And because it isn't from everyone putting all their faith in her, it's still extremely prevalent after she wakes from the shrine.
-can pet dogs
-Is actually really good friends with the great fairies, had to have a few conversations about boundaries but they're generally very nice and their actions are more motivated by ignorance to the average hylian experience rather than malice. Sometimes she falls asleep by their flowers because of the calming aura of the spring. It also helps that their magic repels monsters.
that's all for now lol but I would love to come up with more!

At least ganon admits riju shouldn’t be on the throne as she is a child but he doesn’t try to go against her maybe he might become a big brother figure to her if she and the gerudo give him the chance
Like it’s the first time a gerudo male is freed from the malice in all the eras till botw and totk no gerudo male was free only one being groose but he was at the start of the curse of demise cycle
Also I seen a fan comic with a good gandorf interacting with link and he tells link a male gerudo’s job is to be the replacement father that the young vai of gerudo town as they lose their real ones when they are called back and till they can leave the town to return to their families
I wonder if Riju or any of the gerudo change this ‘law’ abit as after meeting link in TOTK after saving the town the women realize voe aren’t that bad and loosen Abit up on some laws
A big reason I had Ganondorf not try to restore his "rightful claim" to the throne is because through his time in the Malice he grew extremely jaded with the concept of "true kings". It's even why he decided to hide his name, now steeped in infamy, and stick with his last name "Dragmire" when stepping up to his new role as foreman of Kara Kara.
It also shows his growth as a character throughout that time. His title is a part of the past he refuses to cling to, now. Propping up legacy for legacy's sake is exactly how Hyrule fell 100 years ago, and the many times before that. He refuses to make the same mistakes of the past - and let someone else take up the mantle for a change.
Also wait- what was that about Groose being a male Gerudo I don't think that's how it went...........

Hello, everyone!!!! It's that time of year again!!! Now, I know that in the past two years, I haven't been very reliable at getting out my Christmas requests, and I greatly apologize for this. But in previous years, I've also tried to make myself write a bunch of full length one-shots which for me usually means 3k+ words, SO, this year, I'm gonna go ahead and say that I can't guarantee a full length one-shot on every single request, BUT I will at least write a drabble for any requests sent to me this year!! Honestly you being on a Revali phase again is kind of good timing because I've been playing TotK since Christmas and I keep thinking about how like. Tulin's whole thing sorta implies that just like with the other peoples, some Rito having the ability to directly control wind is a long-running thing, and it's hereditary to the Sage of Wind's family line. Except. Revali isn't in that family line (if he was, it definitely would've come up at some point). Which at least to me suggests that the Rito Champion was probably "supposed" to be someone else — Teba's great grandpa or something — but Revali literally changed destiny and supplanted them just by his own skill and willpower and nothing else. And that's honestly just really badass.
(Also, I am thinking so much about the potential of a Revali & Tulin friendship)
oops late reply sorry! i remember that detail and ive heard people discuss it before! it's like the only bone totk throws revali (while actively spitting on his legacy in other ways. i cannot fucking forgive this game for giving the ancient sage the great eagle bow). it's a genuinely fascinating detail because revali was already an outlier among the champions due to not having nobility or being naturally born with his gale like the other champions were with theirs. and now he's even further an outlier because all of the other champions (aside from link obvs) have that relation to the ancient sages through the new sages. all of the champions and new sages are related to their respective ancient sages EXCEPT for revali.
in the botw dlc he laments the fact that he doesn't think anybody in rito village even remembers him (side-eyeing totk for making that fear come true) but he made a place for himself into a legacy that didn't originally involve him. the rito champion could've very well been teba's grandad or something instead. but no he put himself into that remarkable position and i'm going to be proud of him even if nintendo doesn't want to acknowledge that.

zelda and mipha are interesting foils not because of their relationships with link, but just as princesses living on in the memory of their people. all of zelda’s accomplishments in her lifetime, her curiosity and her compassion, are completely overshadowed by her inability to access her powers. she fears her perception across hyrule is that she is a failure. her father reinforces this by forbidding her to do anything that isn’t mastering the skill that will defeat ganon, which absolutely no one can tell her how to do.
meanwhile, mipha is lauded among the zora for her bravery and her skill with the spear. she’s remembered as a prodigy, their kind-hearted princess who was martyred trying to stop the calamity. she’s so beloved her father even hopes that she was simply trapped in ruta, still alive and able to be rescued, rather than killed.
mipha’s family and friends mourn her into the present of botw. they erect a statue of her. her loss is as fresh as when it first happened. she has not yet passed into legend.
very few people alive remember meeting zelda, in part because hylians don’t have as long a lifespan as the zora, and also because she worked so much on her training she didn’t interact as much with her people. traveling around in botw, she is most often referred to as the princess, sometimes a beautiful one. many people feel indebted to her for fighting the calamity, but they don’t know her. she’s a vague idea people have, a historical figure they can put away in their minds.
except there’s link. he doesn’t remember zelda at first, but he can free her. she’s not dead! she’s still fighting. she’s /alive/.
in totk, so many people know zelda! she’s been traveling hyrule to help rebuild. she gardens. she teaches. people describe her as compassionate because they have experienced it firsthand instead of from their textbooks.
and there’s a lesson here about how important it is to live. mipha is adored, but her spirit was laid to rest. she piloted ruta and completed her duty. the zora no longer have any questions about her death. she is at peace, and life can go on.
zelda, in surviving, can keep building her legacy. she can tell new stories, experience new discoveries, make new connections. the princess of the old stories is being rewritten every day into the neighbor, the teacher, the princess of today.
no matter how great the sacrifice, how loved you are at death, it’s in living you have the most power.

[BotW - TotK: Family and Legacy] Their Fates - WIP Sketches
Sooo... I found these old 2021 WIP sketches that were sitting in my folder for a long time. About what were the fates for each member of Link's family prior, during, and after the Calamity.
...
The Mother, Selene, passes from an illness 11 years prior to the Calamity. Her last days filled with fever dreams and on her last, accepts her fate with hope as her legacy.
The Father, Jun, dies during the Calamity, entombed in the Akkala Citadel after securing the precious secret vaults of Hyrule's knowledge for future legacy. But his last breath were of regret and sorrow.
The Son, Link, gravely injured and emtombed in the Shrine of Ressurection in a purgatory state of prolonged healing. His body slowly repaired but his memories slowly wiped away with time.
The Daughter, Aria, survives the Calamity and now finds herself in the scorched ruined remains of Hyrule. Scarred, alone with a silent anger at the world and the pain it had inflicted on her. But must carry on with this bitter legacy.
...

I hc that the Bargainer Statues are early depictions of the Fierce Deity (who's true form therefore has 4 eyes), who is referred to as a Kishin in Japanese, which according to folklore, are wrathful, powerful, even scary-looking beings & vicious fighters, but are also deeply compassionate, benevolent, & protectors at there core. They're said to enact just & righteous vengeance for those who've been wronged.
Anyway, my thoughts are that he is the 3rd in the Hylian/Demise triad, being where the Hero's Spirit originates from. I also hc that he created the Sheikah much like how Hylia created the Hylians. (So, if the naming conventions follow, his true name could start with "Shei" or "Sheik.")
Anyway, he's a god of war, the moon, heroism, & death. Which is why Link is always able to see spirits. He gathered spirits & fought or soothed Poes (the enemies) either by fighting them or playing the Song of Healing.
The Dark Clumps being pieces of the pseudo-flesh that spirits form to create Poes & the Depths Set being made from this pseudo-flesh.
Also, I hc that the symbols are actually ancient Sheikah script, which the Fierce Deity taught the Sheikah. And before losing or giving up his immortality, he tasked the Sheikah with taking his place, which is who delivered the spirits to the Bargainer Statues before Link.
This is part of the reason why the Sheikah are so heavily associated with death & graveyards.
As for who the Bargainers are, they are this thing called a bushin in Japanese culture, which there deities have the ability to split pieces off of themselves & create lesser copies that rule over certain areas, but are lead by the source deity. The same is said for the Goddess Statues. Basically, Hylia & Fierce gave up their immortality, but the statues are still being run by their bushin.
Stop me, I will literally talk you ear off if you don't.
Anyway, what are your thoughts??
.................................................... OP. My guy, my gal, my non-binary pal. Why did you drop this on my inbox? This needs to be its own proper post! This is a very fascinating take on the Bargainer and the other known deities in the Zelda world.
-
Ngl, I haven't thought much about the Bargainer and their role is since there's so little in their lore. Other than "guiding lost souls into the afterlife without prejudice" and exchanging materials, weapons and outfit sets in return of Poes... (Kinda like how the Goddess Statue exchanges Blessings for Hearts, Stamina and Sage's Wills).
And seeing so many Poes in the Depths in a state of purgatory, makes me think that they are akin to the Grim Reaper of sorts. On top of the Yiga notes about how those "strange statues" would rip the souls out of fellow members if they come too close to it in the Depths.
I also imagine that the name "Bargainer" is a recent title when they were (re)discovered by present-day Hyruleans. And their true name had already been lost to the looooooong passage of time. And for all we know, the "Bargainer" was the god(dess) of the long extinct Zonai people.
That's about as far as I have for the Bargainer.
As for other deities like Hylia, Demise and the Fierce Deity, I don't have much beyond what is present in the games and the popular headcanons shared within the Zelda fandom.
I do have headcanons on how each race and clans interpret these deities and their own faith systems. For example, the Sheikah view Hylia as a "two faced" deity with "light and shadow" themes in their faith. Which is in contrast to their Hylian counterparts who have more clear-cut views on Hylia as the benevolent protector-goddess of their people (And why the Horned Statue exists and is shunned and hidden away).
(Though this is all part of my BotW-TotK Family and Legacy story.)
TL;DR I don't have a lot of ideas / headcanons on who or what these deities are. BUT I do have headcanons on how they are interpreted by different peoples/races.
-
But seriously though OP, if you're reading this, you need to create dedicated posts and elaborate more on these headcanon ideas. They have POTENTIAL to become some very delicious reads.

How did Link's dad become a commander?
OOOOH yes!! That is a story and a half to tell!
I dubbed this story as "The Yiga Conspiracy". And it is partially inspired by HW: Age of Calamity!
Particularly with the Yiga Incident quest in the town at the base of the Great Plateau and involves Astor who is a Hylian priest in the BotW timeline but was slowly corruped by the leaking Malice/Gloom. Especially after receiving a divine prophecy of the Calamity's return that earned him the title of "Prophet" and later "Fortune teller".
And this is what Astor looks like:
Tumblr media
-
So how Link's dad - Jun Satoru - became the Commander of the Royal Guard started with his first meeting with Astor when Link was 6-7 years old.
At the time, Link's mother - Selene Somerset - had passed away from a deadly sickness. And around the same time, the Queen of Hyrule (aka Zelda's own mother) had also suddenly passed away. Jun was already a Royal Guard knight around this time but due to the Queen's sudden death, Jun was having a hard time finding a Hylian priest to perform the funeral rites for his wife's burial. And that's where he met Astor who offered his services.
Jun did recognise Astor as the "Prophet" and one of the advisers tin the Royal Court. He was surprised that Astor wanted to help him when many of the Bishops and Priests were busy with preparing for the Queen's funeral. Astor simply said that the Queen's passing wasn't his sole priority and that there were others like Jun and his family who are also going through their own losses. And he simply wanted to help.
After the funeral and cremation, Jun thanked Astor for his services and gained the impression that Astor, despite his prestige role and title, the Hylian Priest was a quiet and reserved man who was diligent with his faith.
Fast forward to 4-5 years later...
Jun has raisen up the ranks of the Royal Guards and has been promoted to becoming the Commander's assistant / right-hand man. The Commander around this time was an older man named Garrett Louton ( @garryktevar's OC) and he looks like this:
Tumblr media
At the time, there was a raise of monster activity as well as sightings of Yiga activity near and around Central Hyrule with rumours that they plan to target members of the Royal Family. So Commander Garrett had put Jun in charge of investigating the Yiga Clan and their movements.
During the 5th Death Anniversary of the Queen, although a small private affair for King Rhoam and his then 11 year old daughter, Princess Zelda. Jun was present during the small ceremony as one of the Royal Guard knights in charge of their security. It was around this time that he met Astor again. This time, Astor was a Bishop and looked more sickly than the last time Jun saw him.
After the event, Jun noticed that Bishop Astor started to pay more attention to him for whatever reason. And then the stranger and deadlier encounters started happening. And in one incident, Jun was ambushed by a group of Yiga Assassins, disguised as regular civilians within the walls of the Castletown. Something about him being "the prophesied Hero". Jun however was able to deal with the Assassins with his own Flurry Rush ability.
Though an interrogation, Jun finds out that these Yigas were taking orders from a figure named the "Fortune Teller" and after some detective work, he was able to shadow one disguised Yiga member into the abandoned underground sections beneath Castletown and found the Yiga's hidden Castletown base.
Along with Astor, who appears just like his AoC versions and was holding the same Ancient Gear Orb that was glowing with Malice.
With this new and shocking information, Jun reports to Commander Garrett about Astor's true nature and allegience with the Yiga Clan. The Commander then reports to the King who was just as shocked by the betrayal and orders for Bishop Astor's arrest for treason. Jun was put in charge of Bishop Astor's arrest and confronts him in the Catherdral in Castletown.
But when the Bishop was confronted, it was then Astor decided to reveal his true character and unleash his Malice powers. And this display of corruptive power was the signal to the Yiga Incident in Castletown where multiple members of the Yiga, disguised as civilians, began to attack the town.
When this happened, a 10 year old Link and his sister, Aria were also in Castletown with their Uncle Rakurai. They were there to visit their Dad in Castletown from their hometown of Hateno Village when they all got caught up in the sudden Yiga attack. Their Uncle Rakurai - who was a fast moving Army courier - was quick to protect his niece and nephew.
At some point, as Jun rushes through the now besieged town to got back to the Castle, he meets up with Rakurai and Aria but Link was missing...
Tumblr media
...Link had been cornered to an dead end alley by a pair of Yiga Assassins and was only holding a wooden sword. When his Dad, Jun comes to his rescue and was able to take down the Yiga Assassins in a blink of an eye. To Link's awestruck amazement, to see how fast and powerful his Dad was.
Once he was sure that his two kids are safe, Jun and his fellow Royal Guard immediately rushed back into the Castle which was also inflicted by Yiga assassins who disguised themselves as servants and low-ranked soldiers. But thanks to Jun's earlier investigations, the Royal Guard knights under the directive of Commader Garrett were able to quell much of their efforts but there have been a few close calls including one incident where Princess Zelda had to be whisked away by Sheikah warriors.
In the end, under King Rhoam's lead, they confronted the now Malice-powered Astor in the Great Hall area with both Commander Garrett and Jun along with a bunch of Royal Guard and Army knights to confront the corrupted Astor who was using his Malice Gear-Orb to summon monsters and Malice clones of soldiers.
It was a hard fought battle where Commander Garrett was severely injured after taking a hard blow from a Malice attack.
And it was during this fight that Jun finds out why Astor was so fixated on him - and it was from a brief vision that Astor foresaw of a future Jun holding the fabled "Sword that Sealed the Darkness".
But in the end, King Rhoam ends the fight when he destroyed Malice Gear-Orb. The corrupted artefact's destruction caused Astor's body to be consumed by the Malice from within and implodes into ashes. (Ganondorf's laugh echoing in air).
And that ends the Yiga Conspiracy Incident.
In its aftermath, the remaining Castletown-based Yiga members were either arrested or fled to their main base in the Gerudo Desert. Commander Garrett, due to his injuries, was forced to retire and chose Jun to be his successor as the new Commander of the Royal Guard.
And that's the story of how Link's Dad became the Commander.
Link was 11 years old when he was present in the small ceremony for his Dad becoming the new Royal Guard Commander. And was determined to become a powerful knight just like him!
One year later... Link found the Master Sword.

Can we hear more about your ideas for BotW Link's history? Ideas you have for the biology of Hyrule's peoples? TotK headcanons?
Hmmm.... I can answer the first question.
Everything that I have for BotW /Link's history is all part of my BotW / TotK: Family and Legacy series.
That being said...
Link's own Champion Abilty - Flurry Rush - is a family ability from his father's side of the family.
His father, Jun, has the same Ability. Along with his two Uncles - Hagane and Rakurai. And his Sheikah Grandfather, Eishun has the same power and is the master of the Flurry Rush. On top of this Grandpa being the OG Gremlin lmao. (Also later on, Link's sister - Aria - unlocks her own Flurry Rush ability...but it was after the Calamity).
I actually have a fic story that covers this - originally titled "Link's Chronos" - and its about Jun taking his then 14-15 year old son away from his usual Hero's training for a week or so to train him how to use his Flurry Rush abilities. And it's a nice family / father-son bonding story.
I haven't posted it anywhere...yet. All of the chapters and plotline summaries are still very rough and in need of editting!
One day, I'll get to them...
Anyway, here's a few sketches that are based on that story!

I love a good family bonding story. Link deserves to have a decent family...despite what happens.

How would Magic and Deities originate per say in your Botw-Totk worldbuilding project? Plus if the past games are canon in your stuff or not
Oooooh yes! I love these kind of worldbuilding questions. I have a lot to share for my BotW-TotK worldbuilding project (and this also relates to my BotW-TotK Family and Legacy series), so I'll try to break them down into three topics.
(I will also keep this spoiler-free for TotK lore since it hasn't changed much of my ideas)
--
Firstly, yes! The past games are canon to my worldbuilding. They all happened in the "Age of Myths" as described in BotW lore. I imagined that there was a cataclysmic "convergence" event when the multiple timelines were weaved together into one singular timeline prior to the events of BotW-TotK. Sort of similar to the Dragonbreaks from the The Elder's Scrolls series - where time was broken into multiple timelines before they somehow converged back together into one singular timeline. And everything that happened in each timeline are all true and did happened - despite contradicting one another.
So.....try not to think to hard on that one. Very few people in the BotW-TotK Hyrule know about the "Convegence" event. And most view the stories of past games as fairytales or folklore.
I had an idea that the story of Majora's Mask is a children's tale that a lot of kids would pretend-play as "Majora VS Fierce Hero".
--
Secondly, magic, I'm gonna be very honest. I haven't put much thought on how magic works in this version of Hyrule and sorta took the soft worldbuilding path of how magic works in this world Essentially, magic does exist in Hyrule but how a person can use it is rather unclear.
There are magic gifted ones like Zelda and her Sealing magic, Mipha with her healing and Urbosa with her lightning powers.
Then there are supernatural abilities like Link and his Flurry Rush which in my headcanon, is a time-based power.
And then there are abilities that can be taught. For example, the Yiga Clan's teleportation techniques and Revali literally created his own power of Gale through great effort and sheer will.
And then, there's the whole magic-tech aspect as well with the Ancient Sheikah tech and later, the Ancient Zonai stuff with TotK. So I can't really say much other than "game mechanics I guess?", without hurting my poor brain even more.
--
And finally, DEITIES.
The way I approached the deity / faith sytems of Hyrule is sort of like a softer worldbuilding version of The Elder's Scrolls' faith systems. The deities such as Hylia and the three Golden Goddesses are worshipped by the many peoples of Hyrule but not really present beings themselves (besides speaking via the Goddess Statues to the blessed few...and Link).
How they are being worshipped differs between different races and clans.
The universal Hyrulean creation story is about the three Golden Goddesses. Din, the Goddess of Power, created the material realm and the red earth. Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, created the laws and brought order to the world. And Farore, the Goddess of Courage, created the life forms to live on this new world. When they departed from this realm, they left behind a fragment of their divine essence in the form of the Triforce.
In the Hylian faith, they worship the Goddess Hylia as their chief deity who was blessed with the power of the Triforce to protect the land of Hyrule from the evil darkness. And so for the Hylians, they hold Hylia to a very favourable view as a Goddess of Light and divine protector of their homeland of Hyrule with the Queens and Princesses - many named Zelda - are seen as living incarnations of Hylia or even as her "daughters" with her divine blood. (Also my headcanon is that the name "Hyrule" is short for "Hylia's rule")
However for the Sheikah, my headcanon is that their faith follows a theme of duality that is not often present or spoke about by their Hylian counterparts. Perhaps for them, Hylia has "light and shadow" faces - she is the Goddess of Light that loves and protects her people, but she is also a Warrior Goddess that defends and judges those under her gazes. Thus, Hylia isn't seen as an "always good and loving" goddess and is instead recognised as a "benevolent but has a harsher side" entity. To love and to fear.
And this is just for the Hylian and Sheikah clans. The other races may have their own interpretations and pantheons - the Zoras may see Nayru as their chief deity as opposed to Hylia. Or the Gorons may put Din as their cheif deity. And heck, the Gerudo may have their own pantheons of gods or even ancestor worship that differs from Hylians.
(That being said, my Ordon worldbuilding project does has its own faith systems that is separate from the Hyrulean faith. And it focuses on the four Light Spirits as the divine guardians of the region. But that deserves its own post).

Hi, I'm new! I was just wondering. Do you think Wild has any living relatives? Like did Aria get married & have kids of her own?
Hello and welcome to my mess of an art blog! XD
Yes! Wild does have living relatives by the events of TotK and I have actually teased her on one of my Ordon worldbuilding project! She is part of a future story that focuses on Aria's family and their legacy as Link retraces any left behind trails of his family's memories.
But for a quick summary, Aria married a Sheikah healer named Gingko and together they had about 3-4 children. Including one son named "Ren" and he looks almost like his uncle, Link. But taller with Sheikah features and one golden streak of hair. Ren is not a warrior like his mother or uncle but is a keen-eyed sniper and rescuer with sisters who are healers.
It's a long story about what happens to them - how Aria met Gingko and what happens to Ren and his sisters - but that's for future plans.

[BotW Family and Legacy]: He found the Master Sword at the age of 12.
Alternately - POV: You are his father.
This is a redrawing for an old sketch I made a long time ago, including the draft story of how this Young Link found the Master Sword. It is one of the old drafts I wanna revisit and publish into a proper story.
(also its my birthday today - 26 March. just saying)

2023 Art Summary
Happy New Year's Eve to all of my friends and mutuals!
2023 has been a year of....a lot of ups and downs. I went feral mode as soon as I got my hand on Tears of the Kingdom on its May release and that lasted until October-ish. Which in turn, slowed my art progression. But I did made progression nonetheless, particularly with backgrounds and joining into collaborations. Especially with the Zelda Creators and amongst friends.
For my 2024 resolutions. My first priority is completing the RE-redrawing series of the [F̵a̸ ̷r̶ore'̵s̵ ̷S̸p̸i̴ r its]. Along with the few WIPs that I started in 2023. I also wanted to work more on my BotW-TotK Family and Legacy series. Now that the Era of the Wild saga has been concluded by the Zelda dev team. But too many unanswered questions and lore that I want to explore on.
Until then, I wish you all a Happy New Years and for 2024 to bring peace and kindness, cuz you all deserve it.
BONUS - additional artworks that I'm very proud of.
