Finches can scream when sad/agitated so all I can imagine is Xiao hopping onto a mountaintop later and screaming his little vocal cords out. And subsequently get taken care of by the reader when we notice he's suddenly very quiet which can be a sign of sorrow/illness/stress. They can also make these noises whenever they're bored but that's not angsty enough. (Also has Xiao always been a finch and I've just been blind??)

i imagine xiao’s quiet for a bird, but even so it’s easy to tell when he’s upset. he’s always quiet, just sort of… dull. standing there.

Hi!!! Congratulations, you found my original kids!

I'm working on my own fantasy universe. ‘borb O_O ’ is a sketch of a possible design for my elemental dragon, the embodiment of moonlight. It's an early stage design, will probably change in the future, but the basic concept is a mix of dragon, barn owl, and moth.

As a bonus, I'll also show ‘Moon pancake’, sketches of the same dragon at rest and in an ‘I'll kick your arse’ mood.

‘BBQ wings’ is a different, more formed design that I'm already happy with. A wind dragon composed of a swift and a manta ray.

Here's also a couple of sketches of him because I forgot to include them in the post.

Fun fact - his eyes actually cover the entire surface of his horns. I was inspired by the eyes of trilobites. They are almost entirely inorganic and made up of dozens of mineral lenses, so we have incredibly well-preserved eye structures of fossilised trilobites. That's why his horns light up orange when he goes into overdrive.

I want to go back to these concepts because I have TEN elemental dragons alone to design, not to mention everything else.

You asked abt ocs so I think I'll finally show off my iterator!! Her name is Gentle Nature! Sporting a more labcoat styled cloak, She's meant to be an older one- not as old as say Moon but older than Pebbles at least for a reference!

She has long since given up on finding the solution as she just deems is an exercise in futility, instead she took interest in the world already there and learning even more about it, if for no reason other than entertainment and just to learn more, so she simulates the arena - testing to see how different creatures interact in different environments and when set against one another, having a slugcat she personally trained to gather her test subjects in the wild after getting the inspiration from other iterators who did the same.

She writes down everything she sees and likes to keep what she hopes is the most detailed log of whatever species she can bring into her arena, even if most other iterators have little if no interest in her findings and discoveries.

She has quite some patience and can watch a test for even several cycles, but if it proves uneventful she descends what she calls "The Jacob's Ladder", a fancy name for a massive metal rod that electrocutes every living thing unfortunate enough to be in the arena, as she got the name from learning it was a literal ladder to heaven and also the name for a device that is two rods that pass a high voltage arc between them and found it fitting here.

Personality wise she is also more on the serious end, but has a sarcastic and more light side to her as well, despite generally being a more pragmatic individual, though she'd be friendly with other iterators as since she has long since given up on the solution she appreciates having others to still talk to for company and share interests with any other iterator and learn about the creatures in their region!

Can you do a Headcanon about any of the Birds?

Punishing Bird cant sing because of the mouth it made to punish creatures, that being said, if you were to ever play a sound of bird singing, you could hear PB making noises according to the song

Big Bird's eyes make it difficult to see things up-close, even tho its possible for BB to see things from far away, such as butterfly's wing pattern. In order to be able to see, Big Bird makes other eyes unfocused while some look at whatever is in front of it

Judgement Bird's neck is not a natural occurrence. It has been shaped by the weight of its scales. Wings are kind of weak and JB got tired from carrying such weight around

Fiery Bird loves employees who successfully hunted it. Its one thing having a thrill of a chase/hunt, but another is to see a successful hunter. FB will express its affection by wrapping its head around them (borb is also warm so its nice)

Apocalypse Bird is the only abnormality so far that is immune to any direct damage. Honestly noone is brave enough to figure out how to damage it and i dont blame them. Would you really fight a freaking titan bird that makes the very sun and moon tremble?

What are some of your favorite headcanons of "they should have been fat"? Like, characters you super duper view or hc as fat but they're not in canon, so seeing canon or fanart of them is shocking. It could be complete headcanon or ones with actual reasons where the characters are "fat-coded"! (I feel like that sounds really silly to say but I do genuinely think it's a thing)

It can be hard for me to figure out who falls under this and it isn't just indulgent "I kin them/in my kin canon they were fat" but I realize now that it doesn't actually matter which is which XD—and also this is distinctly different from "I headcanon them to gain weight/become fat as canon progresses or post canon". (But what I mean moreso is like a character that you just SO strongly view as fat that them being not fat is practically shocking.)

Like, I headcanon Mondo to get more chubbier muscular as he gets older and heals as a person and has a much more bear like (but definitely super strong) physique than when he was younger, which is different than for example, Makoto, who I headcanon to just be fat as is without any progression of time.

Azure made a post of a few of his (and well mine too) headcanons like this but it's super limited because it's just 3 x 3 and I know we both share more strongly believed fat headcanons than that including within just one series!

Definitely two of my biggest headcanons like this are Bianca from Pokémon and Usagi from Sailor Moon. I dunno why but Bianca just looks almost chubby in some art? And she just FEELS chubby to me... She is a fat trans girl to me!!! Usagi also is to the point where I'd say she just is fat-coded because it seems like the viewer is supposed to see her as fat because other people do and she often diets or has a very fat relationship with the world, but she's just not depicted as fat because like...either it's all in her head or it's just...animanga has a fatphobia problem

I've been thinking about all this because of Azure's post and it definitely makes me want to make a "bingo" of characters where they're fat. To me.

I agree with the ones you mentioned!! Usagi is absolutely fat to me and always will be and I love her for it :3 and Bianca I never thought of but absolutely as well she totally is to me!!

Some I can think of is Rosalina, Shadow the Hedgehog, Ness, Ninten, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Hatsune Miku, Lum from Urusei Yatsura, Mami Tomoe, Isabelle from AC, those are some that come to mind ^w^

Characters who are kintypes of mine I also would say a lot of them are fat, such as Galacta Knight (he’s a borb but like, particularly just is FAT to me ya know..), Sonic the hedgehog, Sora from KH, Derpy Hooves, Applebloom, some Link iterations from LoZ, Mae Borowski, Madoka Kaname, Ryoga Hibiki, you get the idea but those are some I can say XD

Another category I can think of is characters who were fat but kinda slimmed down for some ungodly reason :/ that are fat to ME no matter the canon! Like Glimmer from spop, from Willow from TOH, and Mario (a kintype of mine but fits this category). I’m sure there is more but I just hate how common this is to me 😔

Hello Mockingbird fandom. I was bored.

Have some doodles.

(The text and explanations? sorta? under the cut.)

The first bird (top left corner) was originally going to be a reference for the other images but then I remembered that the mockingbirds are actually pretty short and round. So, I drew a short and round bird next to the first one and labeled it borb.

The next bird over is a sort of cross between Ghost/the hollow knight protagonist, which was drawn because they both have weird white masks/shells/heads and black eyes, with mostly black bodies. so why not draw a mockingknight. Text near it reads “The urge to make a mockingbird oc/sona-”

Below the original mockingbird is a mockingbird with crystals growing out of it with the text “Mom help Alter is bullying me :(” next to it. based on the fact that the moon fucks up birds.

Next to that is a hound... thing. with the text “Mocking hound” and “Charlie should replace everything with mockingbirds tbh.” 

Why? because idk they’re really fun to draw.

also, Mockingbird crossed with a tallbird. “I’m sorry for drawing this.”

The last one is a mockingbird pointing at the text “*Maxwell doing anything*” and saying, “Look at all this c r i n g e above me.” based off memes like “The post above this is cringe.” and stuff.
