Today is National Pet Day, so I want to know ALL about your pets! Happy #ShelfieSunday friends! 🌈 I don't think I've shown off these shelves before. These are my new TBR shelves, next to my side of the bed in our master bedroom. So basically, this is the last thing I see at night and the first thing I see in the morning. 😍 (Except blurry, because I wear contacts/glasses & am blind without them.) . . This is probably my favorite of the new shelf set-ups after we dismantled my library to make a 2nd nursery for one of our twins. It's colorful and comforting, and I was able to display some of my favorite bookish art and pin hoops. This photo is actually a couple months old, so there aren't usually fresh flowers there. And the books on the very top change -- that's where I keep track of my monthly TBR, books I've read so-far each month, and upcoming ARCs/most likely to read next books. (And pregnancy/parenting books right now, too.) Plus some of my favorite bookish candles for burning while I read. . . Do you have a favorite story you love retellings of? For me, that's Alice in Wonderland. 🐇 I'm always looking for new Alice in Wonderland retellings in any format. In early 2019 I heard of an off-Broadway show called Alice By Heart that caught my attention and I was able to go see the musical performed on stage and it just took my breath away! 🎶 The music, the staging, everything about it was Wonderland reimagined! 🇬🇧 The story takes place during WWII bombings in London and Alice and her friend Alfred take shelter in the tube station with a variety of other people - who then become the characters of Wonderland. When I heard there was going to be a BOOK of my beloved musical, I knew I had to pick it up! This book is the stage adapted to words. I highly recommend listening to the #AliceByHeart soundtrack, its on all major streaming platforms. You can listen to the soundtrack while reading this - I noticed the correlation between the songs and some written words in here and it made me smile. But oh how I love this story. My only regret is seeing the show only once. This photo didn't come out exactly how I imagined it but I'm still happy with it 🕰 Tay helped me take this back in February when I visited her new apartment - and this setup just worked so well for the photo. Do you know of any #AliceinWonderland retellings I should check out? 📚 Q: Hardcover or Paperback?? . . . Happy Tuesday, Bookworms! Is your week off to a good start? I hope that it is! . . . Do you prefer hardcover or paperback books?? 📚 To be honest, I like both. Hardcovers are durable, and look awesome sitting on my shelf, but paperbacks are SO much easier to hold, and a little less expensive as well. 📚 Did you have a good reading month in April?? What books did you love?? . . . It’s the last day of April, Bookworms! I have no idea how March felt like it was a year long, and April felt like only a few days. 🤣 Did you all have a good reading month in April? I did not, as you all probably already know. 😅 I am really hoping that May will be better for both my reading and creativity. 🥰 I did enjoy all the books I did read this month though, and since I re-read Harry Potter this month, I am going to go ahead with my re-read for the year, so that should be fun. All of the rom-coms that I read this month were great. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of them next month. (I still need to finish *Undercover Bromance* and *Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes*, but I plan to finish those up today. Q: How have you been keeping busy lately?? . . . Happy Saturday, Bookworms! Today I’m super curious about how you’ve been keeping busy over of the past few weeks. I, like most people, have been home for over three weeks now, and one thing that is keeping me busy is making face masks. 😷 Despite my very limited sewing skills, I have become a face making machine over the past few weeks, making masks for family, friends and their coworkers. It definitely keeps me busy, and it’s my small way of contributing to the cause. AND, I get to listen to audiobooks at the same time, so it’s multitasking at it’s best. 🥰 I still haven’t been able to focus on a physical book lately, but I am hoping that will come back in time as well. 🤞🏻 Thank you audiobooks for keeping me sane! 🥰 So, what are you guys doing to keep busy lately?? Are you reading a lot? Watching movies or tv? Playing games?? What’s keeping you busy?? . Q: What was your favorite read (or reads) of April?? . . . Happy Tuesday, Bookworms! Did you read any really awesome books this month?? While I didn’t read as much as I wanted this month, I definitely enjoyed most of the books that I did read. I’m currently reading *Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes* which is part of a middle grade series by Roshani Chokshi, and I am very much enjoying it! (Fans of the Percy Jackson series would definitely love this series. Aru is awesome!) I also really enjoyed Well Met, and my re-read of Harry Potter. 🤓 What about you?
