I'm still ALIVE!!

I know it's been a while, but I promise I haven't abandoned my project for this month. Days 1-7 are done, but I ended up making my wrist sore. So I'm giving it a rest before I permanently mess something up. Especially since my family has a history of getting arthritis pretty early, and my bones already sound like a bowl of rice crispies.

And on top of that. I've been getting sick from the stress way more often than usual. Like, "spending nights in the bathroom" kind if stress sick. It's ass, but it is what it is.

In other news, as for living situation things, we're trying to find a place short term so that we can at least be safe(r) while continuing the campaign for us to leave the state.

I added a small update to the GoFundMe two days ago, but since then, some other things have happened.

From the Update: I've been really paranoid of neighbors and kind of in general, and just when I was sort of calming down, a pattern of "maintenance men" have been showing up.They'll kinda just linger and don't seem to fix anything. And anytime my partner asked, what they were there to fix, they would just say "general maintenance". For most of these visits, I was asleep since they came super early in the morning. I'd wake up, briefly see them, fall back asleep, and then have to ask if them being there was a dream. Spoiler Alert!!: unfortunately not.

Our water cut off briefly (we don't pay for water here.), and we haven't had hot water since.

The New Thing!!: Yesterday, the property manager showed up at 7am yesterday and basically requested that we "hurried up" in finding a new place. Because even though he gave us 30 days (til midnight on the 28th.), he would "/prefer/" that we were gone by the 20th. Unfortunately, I was asleep, and my partner was too caught off guard to record at that moment, so we've made sure to record when answering the door from now on.

So yeah. Kinda purposefully being made uncomfortable/ pressured is so FUN.

Again, it's really not safe here. It never has been. And with us being in a heavily policed area, we're afraid to be assertive with them.

Coming out was a struggle at first for me, but I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have found an amazing partner in @stephanietamez and an accepting community. Unfortunately that’s not the norm for many queer and trans people. Transgender folks - ESPECIALLY black, Indigenous and queer people of color, are disproportionately harassed by the police (and the general public), denied access to medical treatment, face higher levels of poverty, illness and homicide… the list is long and unending. Systemic racism and the multi-layered effects of poverty, race and class discrimination are devastating for this community. If you see discrimination of any kind, call it out!
