Merry Chrysler-
I MEANT TO POST THESE CHRISTMAS HEADCANONS A YEAR AGO
THIS HAS BEEN IN MY DRAFTS SINCE THEN
I'M SORRY CHILDREN YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CANDY NOW
I swear I am totally not biased when I say that I'll side with Shu's headcanon of Lightning being very into singing and then getting caught doing so and being good at doing so while putting up Christmas decorations. Okay. Maybe a LITTLE bit biased.
But I am NOT biased when I say that he and Mater BOTH do it and they have a habit of starting a lyric and waiting for the other to give them the next one so they can duet the rest. It's adorable, but it drives the town crazy just as much.
Red always puts something happy and festive on the old Stanley statue. Some years it's a wreath. Some years he has a red glowing nose. Sometimes he gets little antlers. It's a nice nod to his love for the holidays, and it makes Lizzie so happy.
Finn and Leland used to play that silly Hide the Pickle game on Christmas morning, except with very ramped up stakes because they loved a challenge. Since his passing, Finn's now dangerously taught both Mater and Holley to play. Mater tries his best, though he's not great at hiding them and he's lucky at best with finding, and Holley, well...let's just say that she did such a good job her first time trying to hide it that they all gave up looking, and ended up having to buy another one to use.
Every year, Dusty goes out and puts up tacky Christmas lights for the year. And every year, he and Chug get tangled in it. And every year until 2013, Dottie was tasked with helping them out. Since 2013, every year she puts it up to Skipper and Sparky to do instead. Never fails.
You ever heard of something called a "Drive thru nativity scene"? I've been to one, once. You sit in your car and drive through a live reenactment of the towns and the nativity, and you pay fake coin taxes at certain stops, and dad almost got put in fake jail by Roman soldiers because he wouldn't pay those taxes anyways the point is they have one that they do at Radiator Springs now and over the years they have garnered a lot of traffic. Sally and Lightning only did the Mary and Joseph bit one year, and it ended in Joseph being run over by fans and backing up the line, so he lent his role to someone else (it changes every year)
During his reign over the Lodge, Cad Spinner went above and beyond for Christmas light displays during the holidays, which ate up the electric bill for one and left a fire hazard for another. When Jammer took over his position, though, the annual display had become wildly popular, so - with the assistance and better pay of the Piston Peak fire and rescue - they kept the event running. So long as Ryker stayed close by.
The Smokejumpers pulled an Epic Christmas Prank on - or rather with - Cabbie one year. He had no idea what everyone was giggling about, as they boarded up to drop over a fire. And then later, Maru held up a photo he got of him while he was taking off with them. He rolled his eyes at the sight of the bright red "ELF BACKUP" sign written across his hatch.
Blade's not really a Christmas guy, but, there's one thing he enjoys during the Christmas season, and that's peppermints. He's fucking addicted. Maru will catch him swiping them from the little bowl Patch puts out in the mess hall, and they go through a whole bag in less than two weeks. Addicted I tell you.
Specifically in humanized land, Cabbie has whittled - while Windlifter paints - simplified wooden nutcracker statues, reflecting the features of each of the Smokejumpers. There's five on the mantle in the mess hall for them, and another shelf that holds a handful more for the jumpers past.

We both know that, at some point in the past, you’ve been to a town that was enjoying a carving competition. Lumber, ice, marble: it’s human nature for some incredibly talented individuals to carve a statue out of another material, and then have their fellow cattle appear to gawp at it. Recently, I was in a small town, and they were doing a chainsaw carving competition. Artisans were busy hewing classical art out of broken trees, and it really got my creative juices flowing.
When I got back home, the only thing I could think about was making art of my own. Of course, I don’t own anything as clumsy as a chainsaw, and the municipality in which I reside has only recently removed their “no tree zone” bylaw, enacted after a particularly bad weekend in 1912 in which several beavers invaded City Hall. In their place, respectively, I chose an angle grinder, and the three-sixteenths of a 1974 Chrysler Newport that had been clogging up the corner of my yard for four presidents.
Of course, as with any art form, my first attempt at it was clumsy. Inexpert. I became frustrated at not being able to get my emotions into my work. I also went through a lot of AliExpress’s best “Holy Shit Very Sharp!” brand carbide wheels, some of which fractured even as I was loading them into the white-hot grinder. I persisted. My second production would be better, I told myself, and threw myself into it. Days turned into nights, and nights turned into days, because otherwise that would be kind of weird.
There is a name for the phenomenon which I was now experiencing. “Outsider art” is the polite way that the art community refers to anyone who had not received any classical art training (I never even learned finger painting, because my pre-school teacher, Ms. Ellersly – who I cannot remember the face of, but who drove a 1958 DeSoto Adventurer in puce – got busted for pot that day) but still manages to make art. Well, bitches, I got a whole gallery full of it now, and every tuned-in patron of sculpture was lining up to tell me how brilliant I was and how I should be asking millions more.
Well, I stopped doing it shortly after that. They say you should always leave your audience wanting, but that wasn’t it at all. Between you and me, I’d probably be making more, but I got bored of the whole thing. And I definitely didn’t want to cut up any more cars. At least, not any cars that I owned, and something about the high-boron steel superstructure of the Kia Sportage that keeps parking at the end of my driveway on weekends is not conducive to my particular muse. Oh? You’re right, I can keep it on hand in case I need some rust repair panels in the future.

Inspired by the cozy corner talks about tiny Homelander, I got to thinking about maybe how Ben loves the idea of smol Homie and likes to doodle cute versions of themselves.
During a lull in crime fighting, Ben pulls out a sketchpad and begins doodling chibis of himself and his boyfriend while Homelander is confused about why people like depicting his godlike self as a tiny person, Ben has to explain how these adorable mini characters capture the essence of cuteness that he sees in his beloved boyfriend.
More Benlander please 🙏
;_; thank you for requesting my boys. i'm sorry this took so long
Tumblr media
“What are you doing?”
They’d perched up on the Chrysler building once again for the night– their usual spot.  Benjamin had brought his bag, which seemed a little off to Homelander.  From it, he pulled a beat up notebook and a pencil that looks like it’d seen better days at least a few years ago.
“Drawing,” Ben says.
The bug is resting against Homelander’s back while he gazes out at the city.  The curiosity becomes killer after a while, especially with that scratchy sound of graphite on paper permeating his every thought.  Homelander turns slightly and rests his chin on Ben’s shoulder, peering over but still supporting his little spider’s position.
“Eugh, those things,” Homelander groans.  It’s those damn tiny cartoons again.  People are always drawing him like this and posting it on social media.  Some tiny, upbeat, no nose having, cutie-pie silly thing.  Now Benjamin was doing it too.  “C’mon babe, can’t you draw me looking like, I don’t know… Cool?”
At that, Ben deviates from the other figure and immediately starts drawing sunglasses over the tiny Homelander.
“Not what I meant!”
“I dunno, I think you look good with some shades,” Ben replies with a cheeky grin.  The bug moves back to drawing the other figure, which slowly manifests into looking more and more like himself in full costume.  “Besides, you are that cute- and these capture it perfectly.  You give me cuteness aggression and stuff.”
He joins the two drawings at the hands, sketching hearts in the space above their heads.
“If that’s what you wanna call it…” Homelander rolls his eyes, but he can’t help the tickle in his heart at such a statement and… cute display of their relationship.  “What other stuff do you got in that book?”  There had to be more, right?  Benjamin was at least halfway through the pages.
“Oh just… stuff.” Ben replies.  In truth, there were quite a few pages like this– some even dated back to before they were unofficially-official.
Homelander’s arm comes to circle around Ben’s torso, pulling him even closer.
“Show me?”
In truth, he found these little things interesting.  Sure, Benjamin was many great things, but he was also lots of little things.  Little peculiarities, hobbies, fascinations.  Just when he thinks he knows everything about the bug, Benjamin reveals something new and fascinating.
Inside the sketchbook is a multitude of scribblings.  Characters Benjamin likes, sketchy skylines, chunks of text more along the lines of journal entries…  The best, though, is when Homelander notices the first doodlings of himself and the way they become more and more abundant.  They grow in detail and elaboration until it’s clear he’s taking up most of his little spider’s thoughts.  Hearts around his name, his face, side profile, silhouettes of him blocking out the corners of several pages…  So much more than those little monstrosities his little love bug had been scribbling just seconds ago.
Maybe he’ll let it slide that Ben draws him so… adorably.

Your. Thoughts. On. Destiel. Are. Fire. 🔥 Cas is a giant being of light the size of a Chrysler Building!! He burned out Pamela's eyes when he first appeared!! He made Jimmy Novak boil his hand in water to prove his faith and devotion. And while Cas does grow into a sad little meow meow over time (thanks to his contact with humanity) he is initially a terrifying creature from another plane of existence, which Dean in his infinite horny wisdom, manages to look at and go "I wanna fuck that because it terrifies me and I wanna obey because I barely understand my own kinks, which happen to be are being used like a hot wet rag and being subservient to a warrior of God stronger than me."
(I like destiel too, I just want it to be kinky and weird and monsterfucking adjacent)
Yeah, I'm honestly not very into destiel for the most part because a lot of the stuff that gets popular is either very bland to me or straight up frustrating to see (<- perpetually annoyed that people attribute all of Castiel's rebellion to "loving Dean") which means if I want to get invested in this ship, it's gotta get real weird, real fast. Destiel at its best is kinky and weird and slightly dubcon either because Castiel is a being beyond human comprehension who wants Dean and doesn't know how to deal with this except to take what he wants, offered or not, or because it's late seasons destiel and Castiel is very in love with a man who, even at the best of times, has a running counter in his head of how far over the line of monstrousness/betrayal Castiel is allowed to stray before Dean puts a bullet in his head like a hunter should (picture Dean and Castiel domestic bunker life with cute morning kisses and such, but Dean is the one with custody of Castiel's angel blade, just in case, and Castiel lets him have it because he's so screwed up about all the harm he's caused that he's accepted that if Dean kills him, it's for the best.)
it's gotta get freaky.

Important tags for later reference in case I forget or in case you'd like to scroll through and look at a certain tag:
• "#my art" is for tagging my art
• "#my writing" is for when I post stuff from ao3 that I wrote or just little things I wrote and decided to share here
• "#for later" are things I'm saving for later that might be important or also for cute animals in case I get sad later and need cheering up
• "#shitposting" is for random thoughts I have and shitposts (alternative tag for this: "#random shitpost")
• "#life update" for random life updates and updates on things I'm doing that day...like baking cookies!
• "#songs stuck in my head" is for all the times I've reblogged the "the current song stuck in your head .. go !" post with songs currently stuck in my head that I'm convinced I'm annoying op about at this point by continually reblogging, but I also need to document the songs stuck in my head. for science.
• "#ask tofs" I don't usually get many asks, but I suppose I should have a tag for those, so-
• "#voting time with tofs" is for all the random polls I start because I'm bored and very indecisive. that's it.
• "#last song i listened to" is for the person's post that I rb'd where they so politely asked what the last song listened to was.
• "#a master tag of the insanity" is some random c!mcyt brain thoughts I have occasionally (c! NOT cc!, or in other words, not about the actual real life people, but the cubitos, the sillies, the blorbos, etc.)
• "#tumblr stories of old" are basically like the old legends or old wives tales of tumblr. Myths and lore of old told by great and revered storytellers. Things that future historians may eventually look back on as the Gilgameshes and Illiads of our time... (they can also be found under "#for later", but it's faster if you just use this tag if you don't wanna also be bombarded with art stuff and recipes and cute animals)
• "#rizz for thee not for me" basically the "no b----es" meme for me cuz I for some reason have never been on a single date in my life even tho I've been told by MULTIPLE friends that I'm very cute and my best friends tell me I've got good game and decent charisma...basically me trying to help you get a date if you want one and/or decide to use my pick up lines (also I don't rlly get out much sooooo I don't rlly have any use for them currently-)
• "#dnd stuffs" is for when I post about my dnd OCs that I'm developing my own story for cuz I have no friends (/lhhj...hj BC none of them rlly play dnd-) and autism be damned I'm gonna make my own story! I don't need friends to make up pretend fantasy scenarios!!
• "#out of touch thursday" is for out of touch thursday...obviously- /lh
• "#it's crismin! happy crimis. merry crisis! merry chrysler :p" is what I'm making my Christmas tag riiiiiggt *checks watch* now.
• "#Sasha the Christmas Tiger" Sasha the Christmas Tiger. That is all.
• "#sparkle on its wednesday" is for the sparkle on its wednesday meme
• "#ides of march" is for the day we all collectively stab Caesar again :³
also not all my posts are currently tagged with the corresponding tags, I'm trying to work on it. (← lie, I have pretty much given up on tagging my posts from the beginning/earlier this year correctly. There's too many- ╥﹏╥ )
Oh yeah also I added the hyphens to the tag part, but the tags don't have hyphens so uh...yeah jsyk (EDIT: this ↑ has been changed, there are no longer hyphens in the tags in the pinned post)

Hey 👋 I was wondering if you wanted to do a hc with the boys dating an American girl (Midwestern specifically) seeing as 2 of our bbys are Scandinavian
Hello my lovely. Of course I want to ❤️ although I’m going to tweak your request ever so slightly and make our protagonist non-binary for the fact that I would like to include everyone in these HCs ❤️ I truly hope you understand Anon.
Nathan- The Midwest is the home to Blues and Jazz. Both genres that Nathan has a profound respect for. When Nathan first starts seeing his partner he uses them as an excuse to see some of his favorite Jazz and Blues Musicians. Taking them to concerts all across the Midwest he makes excuses to stay longer and longer each time. “It’s a music *festival* Charles. You expect me to just leave before the fourth day?! Are you crazy? You must be crazy.” His friends all fall for his guise for a bit. Just assuming that he just really likes Jazz. But as time goes on and he starts making up concert names in order to go and see his S/O, the band and Charles start to become suspicious. He comes clean and brings his partner to Mordhaus to live with them.
Pickles- While he himself did everything he could to get out of the Midwest, he doesn’t hold it against anyone for living there. Although he does silently judge them a little bit. So when he meets his partner for the first time at a Snakes concert he is quick to judge them for not running off with him. Years later when they meet once more and he’s in Dethklok, he still slightly holds this mentality but realizes quickly that when he and his S/O are together he feels like home. Not the yelling, accusatory, nasty home he was raised in. No. A safe, secure home. One that he was heard and valued. Pickles loves his partner. He loves their accent. He loves making inside jokes with them that only they would ever understand. He loves picking on them and teasing them for not leaving the Midwest sooner but they also love teasing him for leaving. It’s a very loving relationship.
Murderface- Detroit, Michigan is the car capital of the world. He goes every single year to the city to see all of the car shows in the area and to see and test the newest models of the cars he loves most. A total gear head themselves, his partner met William at one of these shows, getting into an argument with him over which engine was the best, Chrysler's 3 L, or Fiat's newest line of Electric engines. To no ones surprise Murderface insisted that Chrysler was the better more superior car, his soon to be partner on the other hand insisted it was the electric. In order to prove it, William bought one of each car, gifting one to his S/O and immediately started racing them down the streets of Detroit. They spent the night in holding together. Laughing and talking shit on shit cars. Once they made it official they made their regular dates car shows or just visiting dealerships all over the world, they did the same old song and dance, knowing much more about cars than even the dealership owners sometimes they were quickly given access to the keys of the most expensive cars on the lot for not a ton of money if any money at all, bragging about their spoils to the others back at mordhaus.
Skwisgaar- He always found that Lake Superior was the most tranquil place in US. It's whistling pines, rocky landscape, and icy wind no mater what time of year it was reminded him of home. Not that he became homesick often. But when he did it was for the simplicity of it all. The silence of the woodland. The cool chill of the artic wind. He bought a "vacation home" there years ago. As soon as he could afford the luxury. It was his favorite place on earth and where he retreated to most these days if he wasn't immediately recording an album. It was where he had hidden away his partner hiding them away, meeting them there under the guise of a one night fling when in reality he knew differently. He knew that with Charles' help he and his S/O were safe from prying eyes. They took long walks on the shores of the lake, watching the water lap the rocks, neither swam unless it was the heat of summer then they didn't bother bringing swimwear. There was no need. Their time together was short and sweet. They could waist no time with formalities, even if Skwisgaar would have loved to. If he could have lived comfortably for the rest of his life with his S/O he would have moved in to the tiny vacation home perinatally with them, only visiting mordhaus when summoned. But he felt that was an impossibility with his lifestyle. As well as dangerous for his partner. So he resigned himself to meeting as much as possible and living as he always did inside Mordhaus.
Toki- To say that Toki hadn't always had a little kink for accents was a lie. He went wild for them. He absolutely loved listening to the diverse American language, hearing how the accent can change from one end of a state to the other let alone the country. It fascinated him. One of the most unique of all, the Midwestern accent was mind boggling to him and if used right, quite the turn on. Pickles' accent had always intrigued him, and while he was never exactly turned on by it, except that one time but that was a story for another time, he found his partner's accent to be perfect. Most people didn't find a heavy Great Lakes accent to be a turn on but to Toki it was. He couldn't explain it anymore than someone could explain why they might like a his accent. His partner's accent was thick. Much thicker than Pickles' even. He loved the way they took him to games in their home city and even got into fights over which team was the best. He loved how aggressive and possessive his partner could be of everything they loved. Including him. He remembered the first time he introduced them to Dr. Rockso his S/O literally lifted his much taller form onto their shoulder and got into a yelling match with the clown, stating that he better not hurt their baby ever again or it would be his last. They finally came to an agreement to be tense friends but Toki remembers being worried they wouldn't for a moment.

Better Call Saul’s cars
#1. Lalo’s Monte Carlo
A true classic in a discreet almost drab color, she hides a legendary Chevy V8 under the hood... the perfect reflection of Lalo’s disarming smile and often gentle delivery hiding the mad dog killer beneath. If you Google the stats the car probably won’t impress you but don’t be fooled. These things could haul ass even on the base engine. GM ruined them in 1973, if you ask me, so you know Lalo is a man who knows and wants the best..
#2. Nacho’s Javelin
Stock, they didn’t quite deliver as advertised (no American cars of the era did), and there’s little point in owning a classic if it’s choked with after market parts, which is why I place it a notch behind Lalo’s Monte Carlo, but I’d take it.
#3. Howard’s Jaguar
Kind of the perfect car for Howard. Luxurious, even stately, it’s a car that says “Wealth” and “Success” without implying “Risk.” The style, the color; this is a car that’s meant to be driven at the speed limit, keeping to it’s lane & stopping at yellow lights. The man who drives this car gets you out of trouble, not into it, and he’s used to winning.
#4. Mike’s Chrysler
Everything about this car is wrong, which makes it so right! The 318 V8, never a high performance engine, would’ve been all but completely castrated by the time Mike’s rolled off the assembly line. This car is meant to be a practical, nondescript, comfortable solution to Mike’s transportation needs.

Exploring the Smooth Ride: The Chrysler Grand Voyager and its Automatic Gearbox
In the realm of family-friendly vehicles, few names carry as much weight as the Chrysler Grand Voyager. Renowned for its spacious interior, top-notch safety features, and reliable performance, the Grand Voyager stands as a paragon of comfort and convenience for large families and adventurers alike. However, one particular aspect of its design often goes unnoticed amidst its other virtues—the sophisticated automatic gearbox that seamlessly powers this automotive marvel.
The Chrysler Grand Voyager: A Symbol of Family Comfort
First introduced in the 1980s, the Chrysler Grand Voyager has evolved over the years to become a staple in the minivan market. Its distinctive design, characterized by its sleek lines and spacious cabin, immediately sets it apart from its competitors. Whether it's ferrying kids to soccer practice, embarking on a cross-country road trip, or simply running errands around town, the Grand Voyager excels in meeting the diverse needs of modern families.
The Heart of the Machine: The Grand Voyager Automatic Gearbox
At the core of the Grand Voyager's smooth performance lies its automatic gearbox—a marvel of automotive engineering designed to deliver power efficiently and effortlessly. Unlike manual transmissions that require drivers to shift gears manually, automatic gearboxes seamlessly adjust gear ratios based on speed, engine load, and other factors, providing a smooth and comfortable driving experience.
The Grand Voyager's automatic gearbox is engineered to anticipate the driver's needs, effortlessly transitioning between gears to maintain optimal performance and fuel efficiency. Whether accelerating on the highway or navigating crowded city streets, the gearbox responds with precision and finesse, ensuring a seamless driving experience for passengers and drivers alike.
Unleashing Performance with Chrysler Grand Voyager Gearbox
The Grand Voyager's gearbox isn't just about smooth transitions—it's also about unleashing the minivan's full performance potential. Whether towing a trailer, traversing rugged terrain, or tackling challenging weather conditions, the gearbox optimizes power delivery to the wheels, providing enhanced traction and stability when it matters most.
Furthermore, the gearbox's adaptive technology continually monitors driving conditions, adjusting shift patterns in real-time to maximize performance and efficiency. This intelligent system not only enhances the driving experience but also contributes to the Grand Voyager's reputation for reliability and durability.
Ensuring Reliability with Chrysler Breakers
While the Grand Voyager is built to last, even the most well-engineered vehicles require maintenance and occasional repairs. That's where Chrysler breakers come into play. These specialized auto parts suppliers offer a wide range of genuine Chrysler components, including gearboxes, ensuring that owners can keep their Grand Voyagers running smoothly for years to come.
Chrysler breakers provide a cost-effective solution for repairing and maintaining Grand Voyagers, offering quality parts at competitive prices. Whether it's a minor fix or a major overhaul, these reputable suppliers have the expertise and inventory to meet the needs of Grand Voyager owners, keeping their vehicles on the road and performing at their best.
Driving into the Future with the Chrysler Grand Voyager
In the competitive landscape of family-oriented vehicles, the Chrysler Grand Voyager continues to stand out for its unparalleled combination of comfort, versatility, and performance. At the heart of this automotive icon lies its automatic gearbox—a testament to Chrysler's commitment to innovation and excellence.
As drivers embark on journeys near and far, they can trust in the Grand Voyager's automatic gearbox to deliver a smooth and reliable driving experience every time. And with the support of Chrysler breakers, they can rest assured knowing that their beloved minivans will remain road-worthy for generations to come. So whether it's a weekend getaway, a daily commute, or a cross-country adventure, the Chrysler Grand Voyager and its automatic gearbox are ready to make every journey a memorable one.

2023 RAM 1500 Diesel Engine Defined
Oct 20, 2023
Tumblr media
Diesel Engine Options
After three generations of reigniting light-duty pickup truck drivers’ thirst for diesel, 2023 will mark the final year the RAM 1500’s current diesel powertrain is available. You will only be able to secure this feature by special order for about $5,000 extra. The following trims are available for a diesel upgrade: Limited, Limited Longhorn, Laramie, Big Horn, and Tradesman.
The marvelous harmony of internal combustion, superb air compression, and electronic fuel injection help make diesel engine systems extremely simplistic and efficient. These beasts power everything from trains to the biggest pickup trucks, like the RAM 1500. RAM’s contribution to the diesel engine dynasty is the EcoDiesel powertrain: a 3.0L V-6 engine that delivers 260 horsepower with 480 pound-feet of torque.
Both highway fuel economy and driving range (950 miles for one tank of fuel) are best-in-class for 4x4s. Plus, this powerhouse boasts a payload capacity of 1,780 pounds and a massive towing capacity that nears five tons. It can also hold its own off-road. The engine owes its might to a rock-solid design comprised of aluminum twin cam heads, compacted graphite iron, Active Air Grille Shutters, and B20 biodiesel capability.
Other Potent Powerups
Both V-6 and V-8 traditional gasoline powertrains are the standard available engines on the 2023 RAM 1500. An efficient hybrid system, eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as coil spring or air spring rear suspension further bolster performance and enable secure and steady handling. Both the available extended cab and crew cab can tow well over 11,000 pounds, although the extended cab comes with more capacity.
And with handy features like available 60/40 split-folding seats, RAMBox locking bins, a two-way tailgate, and hidden compartment spaces, cargo and storage capacity are tremendous. Further, you can strengthen safety by opting into driver assist add-ons such as adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring.
RAM 1500: Building a Better Future
While the RAM EcoDiesel engine may be taking its final bow, it’s already got a worthy successor in place. The upcoming RAM 1500 REV will burst onto the scene with a fully electric and efficient powertrain that sacrifices none of the firepower you’ve come to expect from the 1500 line.
With two available battery packs, it will be capable of offering a breathtaking 654-horsepower, 620 pound-feet of torque, 500 miles of driving range, and an amazing seven tons of towing capacity. In addition, you’ll get the 1500’s typical high-tech inclusions like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus electrifying new features that include two 14-plus-inch touchscreens and Smart Home Control.

CRAFFEY: Death of the Working-Class Supercars
Tumblr media
Last week, after 19 years in production, the very last of the Chrysler/Dodge LX platform muscle cars rolled off the assembly line in Brampton, Ontario. After almost 4.4 million cars built, the legacy left by the automotive legends built on this platform will be felt for decades and generations to come. For car fans, the reasons to mourn the loss of these legends are obvious, but what their demise signals for working-class empowerment, freedom, and upward mobility, should concern all Americans.
So we’re all clear, the cars I’m talking about here are the mobster-looking Chrysler 300C, the muscle-wagon Dodge Magnum (which was made from 2005 to 2008), the badass Dodge Charger sedan, and perhaps the best modern interpretation of a classic retro car, the iconic Dodge Challenger. It’s not an overstatement to say that these vehicles changed the automotive landscape of this country, creating a whole new movement of diehard enthusiasts, and with it, these cars became part of our culture, our politics, and indeed our lives. When such automotive giants pass on to that big assembly line in the sky, I think it’s important to pour a quart of 5W-20 motor oil out in celebration of what they meant to so many of us. Sadly, they are not the only icons going away over the next year or two due to government regulations. More on that later…
I am admittedly biased in my affection for these cars. I have now owned six of these cars since 2006: five Chrysler 300C’s with the legendary Hemi V8 (a 2006, a 2008, a 2009, a 2011, and a 2015) and one 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT. I’m grateful to still own the 2015 Chrysler 300C Platinum and the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT, and will proudly drive them as long as I am alive or as long as the government allows us to, whichever comes first. My dad fell in love with my Challenger the moment I took delivery at the dealership, so much so that he decided to order his own 2016 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 392 a few weeks later, which he still owns to this day. It’s definitely a special experience going to car shows together in our matching Mopars. My older brother even joined the “club” getting a 2016 Dodge Charger AWD Police Pursuit. The Hemi gene clearly runs strong in this family!
Tumblr media
Chrysler 300C
Enter the Chrysler 300C, which entered production in 2004 as a 2005 model. Developed with help and parts sharing from Chrysler’s corporate partner at the time, Mercedes, the 300C had a thoroughly modern platform and fully independent suspension, rear-wheel drive, a 340 horsepower V8 engine, and one of the coolest, almost concept-looking designs ever to come out of Detroit. There are a few memorable automotive launches in history. The Mustang is one, the VW Beetle is another, and then there was the home run that was the Chrysler 300.
Tumblr media
But what was most important was how it was received by the American car lover, and with them, it was a runaway hit. Chrysler couldn’t build them fast enough, selling more than twice as many as originally planned in their first two years, and it became not just a phenomenon in America, but also in Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. For the first time in decades, or perhaps ever, a person of middle-class means could afford a car with a similar performance, features, and gravitas that was previously only afforded to those with the means to purchase a BMW or Mercedes. Suddenly, the rest of the Big 3, Europe, Japan, and South Korea were scrambling to offer affordable rear-wheel-drive, V8 options to compete with the success of the 300, and for a window in time, rear-wheel-drive V8 cars became mainstream again! By sales and by heart though, the American “forgotten man” had already found his car, and it was a Chrysler!
These cars had become such a phenomenon that they spurred on several successful iterations on the same platform with available V8s, including the Dodge Magnum station wagon, the Dodge Charger sedan, and the retro-styled Dodge Challenger coupe. What made each of these cars successful is that the styling, interior, and feel of each was very different from the others so they didn’t negatively impact each other’s sales, and that they all unabashedly, proudly, and brashly, showcased chiseled, American muscle. But just as the models multiplied, the political and economic world began to change.
When the economy collapsed in 2008, the political Left came into power and quickly united around the concept that “green energy” was the way out of America’s economic quagmire and would also save the environment. It wasn’t and still isn’t. Remember the Obama Administration poured billions into failed “green” ventures like Soyndra during that era, and now the same thing is happening again under the Biden Administration with solar, and wind power, and subsidies for the unsold electric vehicles that are piling up on dealer lots. As presidential candidate Obama in 2008, he traded in his Chrysler 300 for a sad Ford Escape Hybrid. Car folk the world over yawned at this obvious display of virtue-signaling, and it was becoming clear that the rest of the political Left was now coming for the internal combustion engine, especially anything with a V8.
Hellcat
However -- and I really love this part -- in 2015, Dodge sensed there was still enough rebellion and independence left in the American spirit, that they decided to give a flying middle finger to that sentiment in the form of a loud, 707 horsepower, supercharged, Hellcat Hemi V8. To put those numbers in perspective, the Hellcat made the Charger the most powerful production sedan you could buy, at any price, anywhere in the world, yet it cost just under $60K. It produced numbers and fanfare on par with elite supercars, yet was also attainable for many middle-class and upper-middle-class car aficionados. To get a coupe on par with the Challenger Hellcat, you had to look at top-end Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other exotics that cost $250K or more. In its final 2023 iteration, the Challenger Hellcat 170 became the world's fastest production car in history, doing a 0-60 in 1.66 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 8.9 seconds.
The Hellcats completely redefined the definition of what “powerful” was, and like the 300 before them, they became the leading automotive and cultural icons of their era. Most importantly, they enabled the forgotten man to be able to own and enjoy cars as special and powerful as their far wealthier neighbors. The sound, the timeless design, and the sales reflected this seachange, with the Dodge Challenger consistently outselling the Ford Mustang in recent years, coinciding with its repositioning as being more of a sports car than a true muscle car like the Challenger. But of course, this automotive love affair did not sit well with the wealthy elite who seem to believe this sort of power and passion should only be reserved for them, while the rest of us are relegated to driving a far more “responsible” Prius or a fully-electric vehicle.
As late as 2020, there were plans for a next generation of Dodge Charger and Challenger, and 300, with internal combustion V8s and rear wheel drive. Clearly, the boys at Dodge were banking on a different election outcome that year, but no one was prepared for just how extreme the fuel economy and “green” mandates of the Biden Administration would be. Once it became clear how aggressive this administration would be, the 2025 and beyond regulations appear to have forced Stellantis, the current owner of Dodge and Chrysler, to scrap those plans and go all in on fully electric and possibly downsized internal combustion/hybrid options for their muscle cars. It's not an overstatement to say the general consensus among current Chrysler/Dodge owners varies from depression to outrage. The cars that we love, these special beasts that made owning that pinup poster fantasy finally attainable, are once again being taken from us, not because of sales or the free market, but because the “government knows best."
Goodbye to V8 Engines?
Perhaps you aren’t a particular fan of these LX cars, and you think their demise is just an outlier. Well, for Chevrolet Camaro fans, the last V8 Camaro also just rolled off the assembly line. The last year for the Ram truck before it loses a V8 option is 2024, and the same for the Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. On the slightly more expensive side, V8s have been removed from the Mercedes C63 and E63, and the Toyota Land Cruiser; 2024 will be the last year for any Jaguar with a V8. Lastly, the phenomenal Cadillac CT5 V-Blackwing, with its supercharged 6.2 liter V8, will be the last performance V8 that Cadillac ever offers, or at least, so they say. My guess is that 2025 will be the last year for these majestic sedans.
Meanwhile, EVs are not selling at all as originally predicted and why wouldn’t they? People do not like being told what to buy, much less being forced into it. Ford and many others have cut their sales projections in half and dealers are having to sell these vehicles at a loss just to move them as it costs much more to make an electric car than an equivalent gas-powered vehicle. As a result, I predict over the coming years that more than a few long-time automakers will go out of business trying to adhere to EV government regulations by spending billions of dollars to transition their platforms and infrastructure to this new technology, only to have the market decide they still prefer some sort of gas-powered option over full-EV. Meanwhile, the “old-school” Dodge Charger, Challenger, and 300 were still selling in near-record numbers right up to the end and were highly profitable for both the dealers and Stellantis. In their absence, sales are already starting to decline at Stellantis, leading to cuts in marketing and other areas, putting its future at risk.
So yes, the loss of these cars is individually significant, but what it reflects on a larger macro level is even far more impactful; the death of American working-class empowerment, their attainable dreams, and their freedom to live their life how THEY see fit. It’s not just our cars this administration and like-minded Progressives have been taking away. It’s our gas stoves, it’s our lawnmowers, and it's our ability to even water our lawns. It’s gas leaf-blowers, and single-family zoning, and on and on. It may start with taking our V8s, but it will almost certainly end in a far darker place unless the dominant political climate changes, pun intended.

Would buy from again.
Review 5: Great scan tool and the IMMO is a plus
Very useful scanner and able to perform all bidirectional controls available, scanned all the modules, you can save and share the reports. Many adapters for the x431 IMMO plus key programmer if you want to expand your coverage. I’m a professional mechanic.

Review 6: Excellent Device with Helpful Support
I have been using this launch immo plus device with my 2014 Mercedes Benz C-Class, and it's been excellent. It's capable of coding both ECU and SCN, which is helpful for key cutting and module cloning. If you need a device for these purposes, I recommend this one.
I purchased this device specifically for ECU/SCN coding and it has been reliable. The support that came with the product has been helpful, and I was able to get all the assistance I needed. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and the performance of this product.
Review 7: Best scanner for my Ford
Launch X431 IMMO Plus programming diagnostic tool is the best scanner I have used.
I was a little doubtful at first because I've been using another brand. I am looking for a tool that can help diagnose and program ECUs as well as program key types without breaking the bank. After doing some research, I decided to go ahead and buy the Launch IMMO Plus.
Fortunately, it ticks all the boxes and more. This Launch IMMO Plus has the potential to be one of the best diagnostic tools on the market.
It currently helps me with key programming with GM and Ford and Chrysler Diagnostics!
Review 8: Great small Diagnostic scanner with IMMO capability
As a professional technician I picked this Launch X-431 IMMO Plus as a secondary scanner and after having used it for about a week I have to say that it is very capable, it updates really quickly when there are updates available and it scans every available module on all of the vehicles that I have used it on so far. I have not had a chance to use the IMMO capabilities so far but if they are in line with the diagnostic capabilities then this should be a very good scan tool.
Live data is good and stable so far, just note that it is a small screen so if you choose a lot of data streams you will need to scroll to see them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Review 9: Launch continues to get better and better.
This x431 immo plus is the third launch scan tool I have purchased in the last five years. I work on a large variety of vehicles which requires me to have multiple types of scan tools. This tablet has incredible battery life, very very good build quality, excellent hardware and good software. One of the things that impresses me most about this tablet is the four or five day battery life I get out of it, I also have a few Autel scanners and I’m lucky if they last me the day. This scanner does more than just diagnostic testing and actuator manipulations. This scanner can also program new keys. Another impressive feature of this tablet is the add-on capabilities from the purchase of additional modules. This tablet can interface with an oscilloscope multimeter module, battery tester, bore scope and probably some things I’m not even aware of. This is an incredible value for the price. I was very happy to see the small form factor, Good quality storage case and the addition of USB-C charging. This is a great tablet that I highly recommend.
Review 10: MUCH More Than Just an IMMO Tool!
After comparing the IMMO Plus to other ‘comparable’ tools by competing manufacturers, the decision became one of the easiest I could hope for.
Right out of the box, the IMMO Plus is impressive. Easy to set up and register, and featuring a much more intuitive Android OS interface, compared to the earlier Launch X431 units from years ago. It features a high resolution touch screen display that’s glove compatible. The battery life is incredible With everyday use, the internal rechargeable battery still has at least 35% charge left in it by the end of the week! The Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) is Bluetooth Wireless and comes with a respectably long data cord with OBDII connector and 3 LED Status lights on both sides… You’re not tethered to the vehicle’s OBDII port, which makes actuator testing outside of the vehicle much easier. The included X-Prog3 Immobilizer Expansion Module is an absolute must when it comes to working on IR systems, in addition to I/C and RFID chipped transcievers. Not only has this tool met every key programming challenge I’ve thrown at it (which is the reason I bought it to begin with), it’s also proven itself to be a highly capable full function bi-directional scan tool!
It has quickly become my go-to for regular everyday diagnostics and system testing on every make and model that comes into my bays. It performs every reset imaginable, from oil change to vehicle battery registration. Programmable module replacement couldn’t be easier! Launch also releases improvement and capability updates very regularly, up to once a week. Downloading and installing updates is easier than any other tool I’ve used. This tool has impressed me to the point that I plan on adding more expansion modules in addition to the Battery/Starting/Charging Tester (BST360), such as the Launch TPMS and Launch videoscope to increase its capabilities.

Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends [Official Music Video]
youtube
This is about Saturn and Earth and he did something very bad to her family in the past they say and we don't think so so it's going around and around one day she's going to ask him what happened to them and will be horrified and she will go after tons of them because of it there's a lot of people like that I'm learning about these clones and what they did and others like Trump who just go around hurting people and all these cities we're going to court have this Methodist ruining things fact that is forced to and he hates these people he knows her own garbage and was stuck here other people becoming garbage cuz we're just sitting here and it doesn't make sense but people need to figure it out on their own and stop complaining to us we have problems so it is still during the time November and it goes past Thanksgiving by a month almost a month to December 25th so he said to her this is what my brother would say but it's not really his stuff it's mine and my dad and so she said it's okay I can go on and left and her family came down and said we're not going to let you sit there with that s*** and she wept a little and said you can go and live in your life I don't want to help you for a big huge kids and he said who is this I thought we already had kids and I started laughing I don't have kids and a handful so start laughing again such as after you. Truthfully though it's very odd
Saturn is 2000 times the size of Earth by volume
Saturn has 4,000 * the stuff on it as Earth and that's twice as much but it's 2,000 + 2,000 as it says in the Bible
One month past November 27th roughly is December 25th the day of his birth in Israel and there are secrets there about him
The Bible was written by men as it was written by disciples they're not very well and they were listening to him for ideas so much to write and stories and he said we'll write allegory about you and you'll be famous and we heard it it's being said here quite a while ago and all the way up to today and said we're famous and he put it in the Chrysler supercar and now I understand why and the max are starting to think of something these boys and he's tortured by this guy and his family almost all of them and he's really really worse than this person and he is a maniac and his brother says he was telling and things like that he was Stalin and instead to try and intimidate him and also they start to freak out this is going to be bad and he didn't really say it so. Right now we're trying to make his car and we're going to say it's the other computer but that's holding the other computer off the thorium and that dances begun and it's timed. By him unfortunately. But we're going to proceed because it says it and it will be our crest not his and it's a lot of motivators the main one is to remember it and people want to do this and it's a difficult thing to do and they're seeing that and it reminds them about what they have to do so the design is coming out shortly and the shirts are coming out very soon and BG should keep in mind that the shirts might be replicated if he doesn't produce them so he's going to have to make tons of shirts he says and also he says they'll have to have a prototype and he's getting to work on that all three and he is four and it's a c4 which is really like an Aston Martin poop kind of thing and it's like the Dodge viper so he looks as I do get that and that's what he's going to do it's kind of almost a full line and it's going on very soon he's got a lot of work to do it's got people and they're getting to it and you might have people makes a Rolls-Royce and the Bradley GT designs he's going around doing it and people are not mad at him it's an amazing piece of working that car it's just really nice it's fine woodworking it doesn't split or come apart it's really nice so we are talking about all this stuff there's a lot going on tonight and tomorrow and we are wishing ours the best and hopefully people here will calm down that's a lot of lawsuits and it's a lot of doing nowhere around and around I guess or worse and it is on in the UK so we're going to print
Hera
Olympus
Zues
We heard her too don't put them between us but it says that you wrote it he says and she wanted to clarify that so it's going to be a good day tomorrow she says and he has to try and remember to get a calendar and something which I don't think you should bring on the bus and he agrees so it's going to happen that we are seeing what's happening here and actually it might be that guy who shot a girl in the video and the shooting happened up there Jones loop so it's probably a pain but here we go these things are getting close too close.

By David Shepardson and Joseph White(Reuters) -The United Auto Workers on Saturday expanded its strike against General Motors to include its Spring Hill, Tennessee, engine plant, a move that could stall GM's large pickup production and increase its financial pain. The expansion of the seven-week strike leaves GM the only Detroit automaker without a contract deal. Chrysler-owner Stellantis reached agreement with the UAW on Saturday and Ford on Wednesday. Those deals won workers a record 25% jump in wages over the 4-1/2-year contract and allow the companies to restart their profitable truck assembly lines. At GM, people familiar with the bargaining said sticking points in the UAW negotiations include retirement benefits and issues related to temporary workers. GM has more retirees than either Ford or Stellantis and increases to pension benefits for workers hired before 2007 cost GM more than its rivals."We are disappointed by GM's unnecessary and irresponsible refusal to come to a fair agreement," UAW President Shawn Fain said in a statement to Reuters.GM said in a statement that two of its large pickup plants could be affected by the Spring Hill walkout and that it wanted to reach an agreement quickly. The UAW is already striking at GM's Arlington, Texas, assembly plant, which makes the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban and Cadillac Escalade. GM said earlier this week that this walkout was costing it $400 million a week. The Spring Hill plant, which employs 4,000 workers, supplies motors to nine assembly plants that build several of the automaker's best-selling and most profitable vehicles.UAW lawyer Benjamin Dictor said in a social media post: "Imagine, everyone is making trucks but you. If everyone else could get it done, what does that say about you?"No more talks were expected on Saturday and it was unclear when GM and UAW would reconvene, sources familiar with the matter said.STELLANTIS DEALThe deal with Stellantis follows a template set by UAW and Ford. The deals will amount to total pay hikes of more than 33% when compounding and cost-of-living are factored in. The contracts will start with an initial increase of 11%.Story continues"We look forward to welcoming our 43,000 employees back to work and resuming operations," Stellantis said on Saturday. The Ford and Stellantis agreements will have to be ratified by all workers.U.S. President Joe Biden said in a statement the Stellantis "contract is a testament to the power of unions and collective bargaining to build strong middle-class jobs."The deal includes an agreement to reopen Stellantis' assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois, which will now build midsize trucks, Fain said in a video on social media. The trucks could compete against Ford's Ranger and GM's Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon models. The factory was previously shuttered and became a rallying point for the union's bargaining campaign. Stellantis also agreed to build a battery plant next to the Belvidere plant, UAW said.Illinois Governor Jay Pritzker called the agreement a "huge win for Illinois" and said the state will offer incentives to help offset the automaker's costs.Stellantis will also keep open two facilities that were under threat of closure -- an engine manufacturing complex in Trenton, Michigan, and a machining operation in Toledo, Ohio, Boyer said.In all, the automaker committed $19 billion in new investments in U.S. operations and the creation of 5,000 jobs where previously it planned to cut 5,000 jobs, Fain and Boyer said. The UAW has won the right to strike over product investment decisions, Fain said.INCREASED COSTSFain accused the Detroit automakers of enriching executives and investors while neglecting workers and said the UAW's success would help blue-collar workers across the country. The companies argued that UAW's demands would significantly raise costs and put them at a disadvantage against EV leader Tesla and foreign brands such as Toyota Motor, which are nonunionized.Ford expects the new contract will add $850 to $900 in labor cost per vehicle.
Tesla already had a labor cost advantage of roughly $20 per hour, analysts have said. The UAW negotiations coincided with high-profile labor campaigns by striking Hollywood writers and actors and by workers at delivery giant UPS. With staff shortages at many businesses, the labor movement appeared re-energized after decades of decline. The contract talks drew the attention of Biden and Republican rivals who see Michigan and other prominent auto-producing states as pivotal to their 2024 campaign strategies.(Editing by David Shepardson and Joseph White; Additional reporting by Mrinmay Dey in Bengaluru and Jeff Mason in Delaware; Writing by Sayantani Ghosh; Editing by David Gregorio, Peter Henderson and Cynthia Osterman)
