I don't have time to get into this right now and I'm happy to expand on it later when I have a minute to sit down, but: Do not give your money to zines runs by antis.
Do not participate in zines run by antis.
Do not trust people who have never participated in your fandom until they show up trying to make money off of you.
ZINE DRAMA is not ~fandom drama~. Zines are independent small businesses. Any time money is exchanged, you risk sharing your legal name. Any time physical media is purchased to be mailed, you share your home address.
Do not trust antis with your personal information. It is not safe.
I really try not to engage in drama and bullshit on here because I think it's irresponsible and wastes everyones time, but when this type of money and personal safety is involved I think it's absolutely crucial to be aware of it. This is not drama, it's very basic safety.
Especially in this fucking fandom, with its history. There is a reason we have not had zines, and they would know that if they actually spent time here before trying to monetize your work. I say this due to their handling of it and also in case fandom folks around here don't have zine experience and don't know what red flags to look for, since we haven't had any. There is a mature and responsible way to navigate this new territory and this is absolutely not it.

Regarding @littlegreenfag
Tldr: Adina, known by the Tumblr urls littlegreenfag and prksoda, has spent the past several years lying about many facets of their life. The list of lies includes, but is not limited to, being half manouche Romani, being Jewish, and being descended from Holocaust survivors.
I never wanted to have to do this. I’ve spent months trying my best to encourage Adina to come clean themself. My methods were not ideal. I should not have used anonymous messages. I used to be friends with them, I should've talked to them openly as their friend. I also should’ve attempted to be less aggressive at times, even though I think it is incredibly reasonable to have felt the way I felt when I was sending some of those messages. I understand and regret both of these things. Unfortunately, since Adina has deactivated @littlegreenfag, I cannot provide links or screenshots to every ask of mine that they responded to, only those I saved at the time. I will do this later, upon request. This post is already going to be enough of a monster without them.
Though the last day has been a complete nightmare, I am satisfied with one thing: Adina came clean about everything, even if not publicly. My worry was always with the though of having to reveal their personal information, as many of the things they’ve lied about would require me to, functionally, dox them. Though it's technically all public, I would much rather that no one who doesn't already have access to this information gain it.
So, why am I writing this post? For those of you who were on Adina’s blog last night, you may have seen this post. I was also able to save a capture of their blog on the Internet Archive. Here is a screenshot that I took around when the post was first published. Apologies for the formatting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To summarize, Adina begins to by admitting to a small lie, that they were born in Chicago, before admitting that they had been lying about their race. Though it was not present at the time of the blog's deletion, I would like to note that Adina had the phrase "jewish and half-romani" in their blog's bio for a very long time. This phrase was quietly removed after I sent the first anon message telling them that I was aware of their lies, on March 16th 2024. This can be seen on the Wayback Machine, by looking at the capture taken on March 5th, 2024, in comparison to the capture taken on March 24th, 2024.
That is what you may have seen. However, it is not the only major lie Adina has told. After suggesting Adina should turn off anons, I sent them another ask with my blog name visible, telling them that I could tell everyone about the other lies for them, if they wished to log off and be done with it. They messaged me privately, and this is the resulting conversation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I apologize for the block of images, but I figured it was necessary to include the entire conversation. Here, Adina openly admits to not being Jewish. Adina has spent months receiving social benefits for claiming to be Jewish, and they've even used this claim to support arguments. Truth be told, Adina has one Jewish great-grandfather. How Adina expected me to believe they would know about this without knowing his surname, I will never know. However, I should emphasize that Adina is not Jewish by the standards of any main movement of Judaism. Orthodox and Conservative look for an unbroken line of Jewish women, while Reform asks that you be raised Jewish by a Jewish parent. Adina is descended from a Jewish man who converted to Catholicism and raised his children Catholic.
Regarding the Holocaust claim, I understand hat Adina did not directly address this. I will say that I find it suspicious that they deactivated as soon as I mentioned it, but they technically never confirmed it was a lie. However, with the information that:
The ancestors they mention as being survivors or victims quite literally do not exist and
Their Jewish ancestor was born in the United States well before WWII
I believe it is quite safe to say this was also a lie. My screenshots of their claims come mostly from their Reddit account, which is now deleted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is absolutely ghoulish to me to create fake relatives so that you can pretend they were tortured and killed during the Holocaust. All to receive sympathy.
Though there are many, many other lies Adina has peddled, such as being a child of divorce and having a dead biological mother, I don't think any of them matter much in the grand scheme of things when these are the other lies that have been told.
It is also worth noting that this is a pattern of behavior from Adina. As some of you who followed them may know, back in 2019, a blog was created with the intent of calling them out for lies. Frankly, this blog, @prksodalies , is what put me on to Adina's trail in the first place. Though I believe that several of the things Adina was accused of on this blog are downright cruel to accuse someone of without evidence, the fact that there were so many smaller obvious lies made me very uneasy. What specifically made me curious was the post, here, where Adina claims that they are half Lebanese. Obviously, this did not make a ton of sense with the half Roma and half Ashkenazi Jewish Adina we all knew. As it turns out, this was one of the very few shreds of truth from Adina. They're a quarter Lebanese on their father's side, and other than that and a Jewish great-grandfather, are of mostly Polish and German descent.
This being a pattern of behavior, alongside the way Adina behaved in messages with me, tells me that this will likely unfortunately not be the last time this person creates a Tumblr blog with a fabricated life story. I feel immense guilt at the thought that they may continue to swindle and hurt people, and that I will never know or be able to help again.
To everyone who was friends with this person and has been hurt by their actions, I am truly, truly sorry. This has been an absolutely miserable experience for me and I can't imagine it's much different for any of you. If you have questions, I'll be available for a least a few hours. I do not want to share any of their personal information, but I will share what I need to (privately) if some of you need or want more information.

Okay okay okay, I need everyone to listen to me about this.
I know I kinda talked about this before in a reblog to someone else's post, but the idea has been rotating in my brain ever since and I feel like it needs to be further explored. A lot of people have been talking about the differences between TMA and TMP, and memeing about how people can actually quit the OIAR (which btw, I'll believe when I actually see it, by which I mean if we're able to get through the entire series without Teddy either coming back or turning up dead or otherwise facing "You can quit but you can never leave" levels of repercussions) but like nobody, from what I've seen, has been talking about what imo is the pretty glaringly obvious element at play here. So let's talk about the spider in the room, shall we? What do we know about the Magnus Institute in TMA?
People came there to give statements regarding their spooky experiences, including people who had doubts about doing so (because they weren't sure if the Institute was reputable, because they weren't sure if they believed what they had experienced, because they served a different entity so what reason would they have to do something for The Eye, etc).
The head archivist would ultimately become the Archivist, an Avatar of the Eye.
The Archivist's abilities included enabling statement givers to give their statements without going off track or leaving out details (we even see what happens when it's not the Archivist taking the statement), and being able to compel people to tell them things against their will, from statements to their darkest secrets.
You couldn't quit, at least not without gouging your eyes out.
The Magnus Institute was a part of the Eye.
Or was it? Because the other thing we know about the Magnus Institute is that the Web was using it as part of its plan to break free from the TMA world and gain access to the other worlds out there. How much of the compulsion aspects of the Institute-- people being drawn to the Institute to give statements, the Archivist's ability to draw statements and secrets out of people, people's inability to quit the Institute--was actually because of the Web? Where does the Eye's "compulsion to seek out knowledge even if it could be bad/ harmful" end and the Web's "not being in control of your own actions" begin? Was the Archivist--at least in the form Gertrude and John took--really purely an Avatar of the Eye? Or were they an Avatar of a mix between The Eye and the Web, much like how Martin, if he were to ever become a full fledged Avatar, likely would have been a mix of the Eye and the Lonely, just like his domain in S5 was? After all, Jonah was an Eye Avatar, was he not? And as far as we saw, he never needed to compel information out of people. He just Knew it (and used it to torment people).
One of the themes I've been playing around with in my TMA fanfictions since I first finished the podcast for the first time last winter is how the course of history would be different in the alternate worlds, where the Web wasn't interfering--at least not on the same scale, or for the same reasons--since it had already gotten what it wanted at the end of TMA. And I think that's exactly what we're seeing a version of in Protocol. I think the OIAR is what it looks like when it's entirely the Eye at play, with 0 interference from the Web. The Eye is all about having your secrets exposed, being watched, being followed. The tape recorders--something that would need to be turned off and on (controlled) in order to record something--were a tool of the Web. Now we're "witnessing" the events of the podcast through the audio from security cameras and other things that are constantly running; constantly seeing and listening without needing to be turned on and off. The statements aren't being given by people who somehow found their way to the institute and were on some level or another compelled to tell their tales. They're journal entries detailing a person's private thoughts. They're letters meant only for the eyes of the recipient, sharing secrets not meant for anyone else. They're recorded therapy sessions.
And the statements that are related to the Eye? The ones read in John's voice? They're forum and blog posts, which not only makes them the only ones whose sources didn't have the same expectation of privacy as the others, also ties them to the Web, since computers and websites were previously established as being associated with it.

“We want to be on your side.”
This scene is meant to be funny, but I see something more that provides insight into Prowl’s character.
The Constructicons Know
There are two things that stand out to me: Hook’s choice of words, and the nature of Prowl’s reaction.
Seeing as “your side” can easily be misunderstood as referring to the Autobot side, Hook could have said something more obvious, like, “Hey. We want to hang with you, Prowl.”
But Hook didn’t do that. He chose the phrase, “We want to be on your side.”
Why?
Well, Hook and the rest of the Constructicons were inside Prowl’s head as much as he was in theirs. They didn’t just know his thoughts. They had access to Prowl’s deepest desires.
And what was it that Prowl said to Arcee in Issue #1?
Tumblr media
“I learned that nobody is on my side.”
Yes, Prowl wants peace. He wants order.
But just as much, he wants to know that someone will have his back—that there will be someone competent to fall back on when the world is going up in flames.
In spite of all his scheming and pushing people away, Prowl desperately wants to know that there is someone he can trust to do what needs to be done to work toward his ideal: Lasting peace.
When the Constructicons were in his head, they saw that. These five “vile” Decepticons understood Prowl better than any Autobot ever did.
And that scares the hell out of Prowl.
How NOT to accept a compliment
Tumblr media
He knows the implications of what the Constructicons are saying. They’re basically telling him that they want what he wants. They’re also telling him, “We’ve seen what others consider to be the worst of you, and we think you’re awesome—not in spite of it, but BECAUSE of it.”
These Decepticons want to help him bring about his ideal, and this goes against all the preconceived ideas Prowl has about Decepticons.
But notice how Prowl stops himself from telling them that their admiration is crazy. It’s obvious that the Constructicons are more likely to listen to Prowl than anyone else, so why tell ‘Bee to answer for him?
Personally, I think he’s torn between agreeing with the Constructicons and telling them to get lost. Prowl wholeheartedly believes the way he thinks is great, but if he tells that to them in this moment, that would mean he’s allowing them into his life in some way, which he doesn’t want.
However, there’s a part of him that can’t tell the Constructicons their admiration is crazy, because this is all he’s ever wanted—to know that someone sees things his way and is willing to go along with his methods.
So, while he’s trying to sort out all the conflicting information and feelings, Prowl outsources the question to someone who does think his way of doing things can be…problematic at times. This way, he’s not technically saying no to something he’s always wanted, and he’s avoiding encouraging the Constructicons.
It’s the only way he knows how to override his internal conflict.

question! is it a form of neglect to purposefully not give your children sex ed? i've been thinking a lot abt it lately, especially bc that's how i grew up. when i started asking sex related questions, people would either awkwardly lie or straight up tell me not to ask. to the point my mom would guilt me for asking, saying "you can read i'll find you a book" [never gets me any books abt it] "but stop bothering me bc i have a lot on my hands" ect ect guilting stuff.
like, thinking back on it now, it makes me feel more and more like not giving your kids sex ed on purpose is a form of neglect. i understand NOT knowing sex ed stuff but it seems like when you get kids, it's kinda your job to make sure they get that info somehow? so many people DON'T know basic sex ed or even what CONSENT is and it seems like that's not just a school system thing but sometimes it's also a PARENT thing.
sorry to ramble in your inbox. i've jst been thinking about this a lot, especially being on your blog, and wondered if you had any thoughts on it.
hi anon,
this is a rather thorny question and not one that I feel comfortable making generalizations about.
certainly there are caregivers who intentionally withhold access to information about sex, anatomy, and consent as part of a larger pattern of manipulating and indoctrinating their children, and stigmatize or otherwise punish children for seeking knowledge. in those cases I think we can generally say that withholding information is part and parcel of mistreatment. I assume, based on the rest of your ask, that this is the kind of behavior you mean when you talk about "purposefully" failing to provide sex ed.
but what counts as "purpose"? if a caregiver is otherwise meeting their kid's needs and not doing any cult shit but never raises the topic of sex ed because their kid never asked, or because they assumed that health class had it covered, or because they themself never got any decent sex ed and don't have anything particularly helpful to say, would we then call that neglect? I wouldn't, personally. it's nice when parents can, especially if their kids are coming to them with questions, but I also understand very well that the average parent is an extremely busy person who is doing their best and probably does not have any particularly thorough knowledge of sex. don't get me wrong, I have plenty of issues with how much sex negative behavior and general ick people learn from their families, but I can also recognize that this is a multigenerational cultural issue and that the parents are also the products of their own upbringings.
this is also a whole other tangent but I don't believe parents should be expected to be the primary vessel of knowledge for sex ed anyway, any more than they're expected to teach math or science. but I recognize that that's also a belief that requires schools to have mandatory, semester-long sex ed classes that are taught by a professional like any other subject and frankly the US is just not going to be there any time soon when Republicans are still trying to classify being a drag queen in front of a child as a sex crime.
tldr. it's complicated.

Hello! I just found your blog and I am so grateful bc u reminded me that I am whatever tf I want to be <3 but I have a question... why do you think people "fail" trying to "get into" the void, or assuming things?
As a personal experience I've been trying to get into the void for like 3 weeks and nothing happened, also things that I assumed didn't too. Could you give me an advice?
(I'm so sorry for bothering and also abt my English, I'm a brazilian)
@orquideamour
hi 💞💞 thank you for your kind words, i think that people “fail” to enter the void is that they can’t decide. What i mean by this is that they fail to stand firm in the fact that they’re a god, they’ll apply the knowledge for two days and then comeback and complain.
I think you need to assume that the void is easy, it’s inside of you and natural to you, no matter how much you may doubt yourself, it is natural to you. Stand firm and do not waver on this fact. Treat doubts like intrusive thoughts that don’t deserve your time of day. i’ll repeat what i said to someone who i was also answering but if you’re in class, you may get an intrusive thought like “what if i took off my shoe and threw it at my teacher” but you won’t act on it, you won’t give it much attention and in a few seconds you would have probably moved on to another thought. Treat your doubts like that, like intrusive thoughts that aren’t natural to you, because failure and doubts aren’t natural, being a god and a void master is.
Stand firm NO MATTER WHAT YOU SEE: “i’ve been trying for three weeks and nothing happened”
“I AM the void”
“the void is natural to me”
“i have entered so many times it’s sooo easy”
when you are a god, there is no such thing as failure. ever. your reality will reflect what you truly believe, not what everyone is telling you to believe but what you genuinely believe. no. matter. what. you can’t fail the void, but what people do is they fail to decide that they are going to enter/tap in to the void, they will affirm for a day and complain when “nothing happens” and come back to tumblr only to repeat the cycle and before they know it so much time has passed. You need to decide and stand firm in the fact that this is who you are now: a god that can access their void in minutes, that does it all the time. There is no trying there is only being, and until people stop “trying” and instead be the person that always enters, they won’t get far in this journey.
But i just wanted to say, don’t be discouraged about “wasted time”, think of it as time that you have used to grow and store more information about the void and loa in your head. relax because the void is in you, it’s not running away from you and time doesn’t matter -you’re gonna be okay💞

I think what kills me about Jiang Cheng antis is that a lot of their talking points reek of anti survivor rhetoric. As someone who is a survivor and has done a lot of advocacy for victims and survivors of power based personal violence, I want to be the first to inform you that the narrative of the “pretty survivor” (which is steeped in cishet normative, white supremacist, and ableist ideas) is an extremely rare case. Trauma survivors are rarely pretty. The Wei Wuxian’s of the world are incredibly uncommon.
Trauma--especially intense, horrific trauma like what Jiang Cheng went through--often leads to intense issues of anger and hatred. It makes you deeply emotional and can often lead to you becoming unstable. Jiang Cheng lost his entire family and community in the span of a few years. He didn’t have access to therapy (something that literally anyone would need to heal from that), he had to rebuild his entire sect, likely had to fight an uphill battle in order to be a significant part of Jin Ling’s life, all while cleaning up the mess that Wei Wuxian left behind.
This is not to hate on Wei Wuxian, he’s my third favorite character (after Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji) and I love him deeply, but he left behind a legacy that Jiang Cheng had to clean up. Whether or not he realized this would happen, Wei Wuxian created a cultivation path (gui dao/ghost cultivation) that is extremely dangerous and horrific. While I still don’t know if I believe that Jiang Cheng killed every demonic cultivator he came across, I don’t know that it was necessarily a bad thing that he did kill them. We’ve talked a lot in the cxc server about gui dao and demonic cultivation and just how much it harms the mind and body. Wei Wuxian is the exception to the rule in having such control over it and even he eventually succumbed to it. If demonic cultivators are causing great harm, then a cultivators job is to stop that harm and the source of it. That may mean killing the demonic cultivator. I think people get mixed up when (I think it was Jingyi) said that Jiang Cheng kills the wrong person. I believe it was @twilightarc-gm who said that “wrong” doesn’t imply innocent but rather the fact that the person isn’t Wei Wuxian. We know that Jiang Cheng spent thirteen years trying to find Wei Wuxian and when he does find him, he doesn’t kill him despite having literally every reason to.
Like idk y’all, if the guy that got my entire clan wiped out, my sect burned down, and caused the deaths of my sister and her husband died and came back from dead, I wouldn’t just threaten him with a dog and yell at him. I would kill him. But he doesn’t he has every opportunity to in multiple instances after confirming that it’s Wei Wuxian, but he never does. He seems more interested in dragging Wei Wuxian home (literally stating that he’s going to bring Wei Wuxian home to Lotus Pier to kneel before his parents’ graves). Like that doesn’t imply that he’s going to kill Wei Wuxian, but rather make him repent.
I think it’s telling that despite a lot of Jiang Cheng’s hurt and pain, he still chooses to not severely hurt or kill Wei Wuxian, it would be within his right to do so, but in the end after it’s all over, he let’s Wei Wuxian go. He doesn’t tell Wei Wuxian that he sacrificed himself for him, because he knew that Wei Wuxian would feel guilty and obligated to him, just like Wei Wuxian knew Jiang Cheng would feel guilty and obligated. That to me shows a survivor choosing to break the cycle of hurt and pain and I have to question why Jiang Cheng antis so often choose to ignore the side of him that does love Wei Wuxian (it’s up to the viewer whether they see that love as romantic or platonic), enough so to let him go and not burden him with pain.
Jiang Cheng’s story and character arc is at it’s core about trauma, survival, and rising above dire circumstances despite the odds. He attempts the impossible and manages to succeed in it. And to ignore that is a disservice to his character, survivors of trauma, and the effort MXTX put into creating such a complex and interesting character.

Major Path to Nowhere spoilers under the readmore, Shalom Interrogation thoughts and theories, got some serious theory crafting and some silly ones
Chiefff I love her so much, getting to hear her voice again is amazing, and her past is so sad!
Tumblr media
Due to her saying: "Mark my words, you'll regret this. If you don't end me right now, you're in for a world of pain!" It leads me to believe that past Chief was provoking her on purpose, so that Shalom would be "forced" to kill her in order to remove the shackles.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
About that Chief.... um, past you probably would depise that you're still alive... :(
Past Chief: *hates Shalom, hates everything, everyone, herself, shackles Shalom out of anger and desperation so Shalom would kill her*
Shalom, finally experiencing emotions again: FRIEND :) She's so amazing, able to fly under the radar, she's so great, incredible, even now she keeps her humanity(-> proceeds to call us a monster, multiple times)
SHALOM I know your experiencing emotions again in awhile so you're clearly overwhelmed but girl calm down she didn't do what she did to be nice or to help you! She probably knew nothing about that, she just wanted death... :(
Also... I know the Shalom touches the Chief (presumably on the head as seen in the first CG) Also the CG is so pretty, poor past Chief looks so depressed and broken in how she was slumped over in that chair. Yet even after that, there seems to have been a delay between that touch and Shalom being shackled..? Does this mean that the Chief shackled Shalom without touching her?? Chief is straight-jacketed. If the Chief's shackles were always hers, then it stands to reason past her would know more about it, things she possibility wouldn't want to tell anyone about. Something present her has also done, hiding information for her own protection.
Not to mention, in the prologue, the Chief also shackled Hella without meaning to... So maybe it really doesn't require touch, it's just easier to establish the connection to a Sinner's mania through touch?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On a serious note.. What happened... Past Chief seems to hate everything, everyone, and most importantly, herself. She obviously seemed to want to be dead. (Whose protection is the straightjacket for? Hmmm?) I mean, obviously a lot happened to her.
Tumblr media
"I will never forgive, never!!" Forgive what? Did Past Chief find out something she shouldn't have about the MBCC, FAC, 9th Agency, Paradiasoes? Never forgive about being experimented on by the Underground?(In the unfurl flashbacks when taking about how the shackles were acquired from the Underground, it shows the Chief in a strange form, so it seems that she and her shackles were the og, and her shackles were presumably "defective" from the Underground Shephard's(?) ).
Then due to her being presumed defective, hence a risk Paradiasoes wouldn't like, when really it was her shackles and not her personally, her shackles were replicated into the previous Chiefs of MBCC until for some reason("no other choice but her") she was forced to become Chief. Perhaps the shackles being implanted into her, and possibly the experiments done on her to replicate it so other people could wield them. Perhaps she found out about the secret MBCC lab(possibly the lab the replication experiments happened) that Suspect R destroyed in the prologue which is shown behind her actually. It's all very curious, and all of those could be a factor. It required the Chief credentials to access, so it's possible that the Chief found out about it, and hence Suspect R somehow? (To me due to Suspect R's closeness with Chief and how initially she wanted to take Chief with her in the prologue, it makes me feel like Past Chief and Suspect R were in cahoots until the plan fell apart? Perhaps to get back at the world, since Suspect-R seems motivated by the administrations failures, and also Suspect-R expresses disgust by the shackles, perhaps Past Chief shared a similar view on the shackles and the exploitation(replication) of her powers, hence one of the reasons she wanted death to prevent this? )
It's all so interesting and curious. It's hard to craft theories with so little info since a lot of it isn't certain, and what info we were given spawns even more questions...
Anywho, serious theory crafting over, silly theory crafting next:
Second of all,
Tumblr media
I love how this implies that the Chief was given a haircut BEFORE being shoved into the reconstruction pod. The Chief's hair is indeed longer in the past!
Tumblr media
Lmfaooo, who do you think gave her a haircut and why?
Tumblr media
I vote Nightingale 😂
Nightingale: Chief, with all the operations you've been on, your hair gets so messy because it's so long. Instead of complaining about it, let me fix that for you :)
Past Chief, probably traumatized by experimentation: NO
Nightingale: *>:(*
Later:
Reconstruction Researcher: We're about to place her in the pod.
Nightingale, scissors in hand: ONE MOMENT-
Later:
Adela: If you ever need a haircut, please, stop on by.
Present Chief: I'll consider it :)
Nightingale: You've got to be kidding me...
Lmfao, remember the whole "Midnight Barber" meme audio, Nightingale is the Midnight(ingale) Barber

Okay, I swear I'll be done talking about how I miss EA Wyll for a while after this (not to say I don't love Full Release Wyll! I love him too! I just grew attached to certain aspects of EA Wyll)
One thing that I found really interesting about EA Wyll was his relationship with Mizora. In Early Access, we do not meet Mizora, but it's heavily implied that Wyll and Mizora had an entirely different relationship than the do in the Full Release version of the game. A relationship that I personally thought was really interesting!
Now, I'm drawing from knowledge from MONTHS ago since I don't have EA in front of me, but I did have 500 hours in EA so I like to think I'm not completely misremembering stuff lol (if I am, please kindly let me know!)
Here is what we knew (or was implied) about Wyll's relationship with Mizora in Early Access.
Mizora originally came to Wyll as a human, seemingly seduced him as a human, and it was only after he took her deal did she reveal that she was a devil (which pissed him off).
Mizora was kidnapped and imprisoned on the Mind Flayer ship too! In EA, Wyll wasn't looking for Karlach, he was desperately trying to find Mizora! (In EA, you could find Mizora's pod beneath the bridge leading to the Blighted Village and Wyll would comment on it. The pod is still there in Full Release, but there isn't any interaction with it.)
Wyll was actively in negotiations with Mizora to end his pact! Wyll seemed decently convinced that she was going to wilingly end the pact too!
Mizora actually uses Wyll's Sending Stone eye! This one was easy to miss; you had to have Wyll in the party as you were approaching the Goblin Camp for the first time. As you were walking, you suddenly heard Wyll say something like "Wait... hello??" and then he'd a ! over his head. When you spoke to him (I can't remember the first line exactly, but I believe he just tells you that it was Mizora reaching out) and then the interaction ends with a desperate cry from Wyll saying "Mizora! Where are you?!"
When Wyll calls out to Mizora, it's not angry; it's fearful and desperate. Like he's actually worried about her. I think this points to Wyll and Mizora having a more amicable relationship (but, of course, there are different and equally valid interpretations of this such as Wyll fearing for what might happen to him if something happens to Mizora, etc)
Wyll could potentially torture an innocent man to get information on Mizora's whereabouts. If I remember right, he will do this if you don't step in yourself and let him make the choice.
Lastly, Wyll also says the goblins would be doing him a "great favor" if they killed Mizora, "or so [he] thought on his darkest days" (quotes are approximations, again, I don't have EA in front of me).
I guess I miss the potential complexity of Wyll's relationship with Mizora from EA! In Full Release, it is very clear that Mizora is wicked and Wyll pretty much hates her, but that didn't seem to be the case in EA. There seemed to be a fascinating push and pull to their relationship that I was dying to learn more about!

Annon-Guy: What are your thoughts on Rachel Alucard and Mei Amanohokosaka as characters?
I'm asking because Tsundere type characters being devisive, with Harsh Tsunderes being hated for being "abusive" girls that deserve to die for attacking physically and/or verbally.(whether they're in love or not)
It's apparent that we Western Fans (no offense to you) don't view them the way Japanese Fans do.
It is interesting how widely JP and Western tastes differ! I have a buddy who is really into studying fandom culture, and we’ve talked about the wildly different reactions to tsundere between the cultures! I wonder if I should call her in sometime to discuss why that is…
Anyways, personally I have no problem with the archetype. Sometimes they can annoy me, especially if they feel ‘forced’ into their archetype; if the character seems mean for “absolutely no reason,” to the point where it breaks my immersion, then I tend to dislike them.
I’ve never had this issue with BlazBlue, though. I really, really like BlazBlue’s character writing. I’d still say that if I ever met these girls in real life, I probably wouldn’t want to go drinking with them… but as characters in their stories, and as believable products of their environments, I adore them!!
Tumblr media
- - - - RACHEL = ALUCARD
Rachel is SUCH a tragic fucking character. You can like or dislike how she’s coping with it, but if you engage with her character on any meaningful level, you have to acknowledge that her cruel, jaded behavior is a believable response to the situation she’s in. It’s not nice, it’s not pretty- neither is the life she’s trapped in. In what world has trauma or helplessness ever made us prettier, cleaner people?
She’s cold, distant, unempathetic- because if she lets herself remember how much she cares, the weight of it all might break her. She’s incredibly sensitive under that cold porcelain shell; she snaps into aggression very quickly when under pressure. Specifically when confronted things that she hasn’t been able to distance herself from, things she cares too much about to feign distant superiority.
Tumblr media
- - - - MEI = AMANOHOKOSAKA
Powerlessness is something of a through-line among the tsundere characters in BB. Mei is also a character struggling with powerlessness, pain, and fear; and she responds to her situation n a lot of the same ways Rachel does.
To avoid feeling weak or trapped, she falls back on her lineage, seeking escape in her sense of pride. She’d rather tell everyone (including herself) that she’s separate and above everything around her. The alternative would require her to face the horrible truth that if she did try to seek comfort or companionship under her employment (servitude, extortion, etc.) to Unomaru, she would be denied it.
Her fear turns to aggression when backed into a corner, when her mask of aloof superiority can no longer protect her. In these cases, she can be explosively emotional; which isn’t at all surprising, considering how much she’s bottling up all the time.
Thinking about it a little, Rachel and Mei share a few more parallels, don’t they??? They both get very quiet when they let down their walls, reflecting the exhaustion they suffer from. They’re both in a uniquely knowledgeable position, with access to information about the world that most people don’t have, which further serves to alienate them- and creates this sort of “being the world’s protector” feeling I’d argue they both express.
They both lost their parents incredibly young, inheriting positions of nobility, leadership, and responsibility they were certainly not prepared for. They both keep going in the hope that a specific man in their lives will one day be able to have a future.
Their designs share several elements too. A delicate, doll-like feel to their features. Long straight hair that veils them from the world (despite Rachel tying hers up) and, in JP media, often symbolizes spiritualism and divinity. They both wear lolita fashion, with many layers that could also be argued to ‘shield’ them from the rest of the world, providing a form of mental armor and obscuring how small and fragile they are under it all.
I doubt these similarities are coincidence.

I just realize you're the only person who point out that Felix and Kagami would be just as in the wrong for hiding the truth from Adrien. Most people I know puts the blame entirely on Marinette and like yeah, I get it it's really bad she would keep something like that a secret from her boyfriend but at the same time how do you deal with that big of a burden?
If it were up to me, I'd make her deal with it the same way like in the Dragon Prince with how Rayla tries to tell Callum and Ezran about their dad being dead but idk, maybe it's not the same with Adrien so it's unfair.
I'm just irritated at people who blame Marinette just cuz she's her gf and not at the adults like Nathalie or Amelie, Marinette's a child, what about Felix and Kagami? They care about Adrien too right?
Yep, it's somehow all Marinette's fault even though Felix knew for all of season five. He knew before then, too, but at least you could argue that he was fearing for his life in previous seasons. As soon as he got the peacock? No excuse. Especially since he got the peacock by trading away Adrien's freedom. A thing he arguably didn't even need to do since I don't think anyone believes that Gabriel would have said, "No" to only getting all of the miraculous. Felix just offers up the ring without even waiting for Gabriel to ask for it. A master negotiator this boy is not.
To add even more insult to injury, season five gives Felix a subplot about informing freaking Kagami and faking her amok. A girl he literally just met gets the treatment that Felix arguably owes to Adrien after all the shit Felix has put him through. You can't even argue that Felix did it because Tomoe isn't a threat on the scale of Gabriel. She's literally a co-conspirator in season five and Felix knows that because Kagami wouldn't be a sentimonster if Tomoe wasn't involved. And Tomoe has always been written as far more hands-on than Gabriel when it comes to controlling her kid, so this isn't even a case of Felix picking the easier target. He doesn't care about easy targets or subterfuge since he, you know, kidnaps Kagami in front of her mother?
But does anyone in the fandom seem to acknowledge that? No and I really don't get it. If hate must be assigned to a character and not the writers, then Felix deserves so much more hate than Marinette.
Kagami isn't innocent either. She knew the truth for about half of the season and yet she doesn't seem to care about telling Adrien. At the same time, she's fine outing Ladybug's secret identity and fine telling Marinette everything, none of which is done in the name of justice. Kagami does it all for purely selfish reasons. To me, this was as much of a character assassination as the whole Kagami believing Lila thing even though Kagami should know the truth about Lila after the Oni-chan incident (Lila faking the kissing picture and texting it to Adrien's contacts).
Then there's Nathalie. In my opinion, Nathalie's redemption is a joke and one of the key reasons for that is how little she cares about actually saving Adrien. At no point does she tell him the truth even though she knows she's dying. She could have very easily died much sooner than the final, leaving Adrien to obey Gabriel's commands, never knowing that he was being controlled. She doesn't even try to find someone else to guard Adrien's ring. She just maintains the status quo and pretends that everything is fine while occasionally asking Gabriel to pretty please change his mind and think of Adrien? Please?
Lady, you literally pinned this man to a table at the start of the season and you are his second in command. You know all his secrets. You have access to everything. You have the power to take him down. You have the power to save Adrien. You are an awful, awful mother figure who put Gabriel's wants above Adrien's needs right up to the very end. Did you even think you had a chance to fire that cross bow or was this just another, "I'm totally helping" feel good moment to assuage your guilty conscious before you died?
And Amelie. Oh, Amelie. If you hate what Colt did to your son, then why are you idly standing by while Gabriel does the same thing to your nephew? You know that Felix has the peacock, so he's safe from being snapped. Why aren't you encouraging him to help Adrien? Or, if you want to keep protecting Felix, then why don't YOU go to Ladybug and Chat Noir and tell them that Gabriel is behind everything? Surely you have to know that Felix isn't safe as long as Gabriel has all those miraculous, right? Gabriel knows that you and your son know everything. A terrorist knows that you're a chink in his armor. Why aren't you terrified by that?
In summary: yeah, Marinette should tell Adrien. It's totally fair to be mad at her. But dear God, she should never have been put in a position where she needed to tell him because one of these four should have done it long before the end of season five! The fact that Marinette was put in this position in the first place is terrible, nonsensical, illogical writing. So go ahead and be mad at Marinette, but you sure as shit better be just as mad at the people who knew everything and did nothing, leaving a teenage girl to face it all alone while bearing the safety of the world on her shoulders.

*SPOILER WARNING FOR SHADOW AND BONE SEASON 2*
Ok I am absolutely buzzing to talk about the drugged grisha at the end of e8, and I know that sounds like a weird place to start - the very end of the show with a woman we’ve never met before who immediately dies - but there is so much going on here that really excites me. Now there’s LOADS of brilliant stuff to unpack in this scene, and I have thoughts about Alina, Nikolai, and the Crows as well, but right now I want to focus on the drugged Fjerdan grisha herself.
First of all, this scene was done FANTASTICALLY. I wrote down in my notes when we saw the newly amplified grisha that I was concerned it would be difficult to portray a clear difference between the power they have and the power that parem gives, but this scene immediately alleviated all of my fears.
In the brief time she’s on screen, the woman sits in the pews at Nikolai’s coronation, takes a dose of jurda parem, and attacks the congregation. We can assume that she’s heartrender based on the type of attack that she uses, and I think that we can also assume this was not her first dose of parem. She doesn’t stand when the rest of the congregation do, and although this could be interpreted as an act of defiance against the new king, she is also shown to be pale and struggling to breathe before she takes the drug. After taking it, we don’t see much of a physical change undertake her, only a massive amplification of power, which I think is reflective of the way that the initial high and power of the first dose can never be replicated. It could also hint that her drug has been mixed with a sedative to make her easier to control, which is what the Fjerdans do to their enslaved grisha. I think it’s safe to assume that the Fjerdans have spies deep in Ravka to be able to complete this action, and there are probably Drüskelle nearby as well to control her. This brings to what I think is most interesting about her character: the exclamation. When she steps up attack she shouts “Strymaktfjerdan!”, which translates to “Fjerdan might”. As a plot device this is to tell the audience that she was sent by Fjerda and that Fjerda have access to jurda parem, but from a character point of view this is an absolute goldmine of information about her. We can assume she grew up in Fjerda, meaning she’s lived most of her life hiding her power and probably has little to no training surrounding it. This should be immediately frightening: with no training she could attack an entire chapel of people, very nearly succeeding in killing them all within moments, and she didn’t even need a clear line of sight since there were plenty of pews behind her where the people were still affected, so what can we expect from trained grisha? But we also know that she’s grown up in a country that despises her, where she will only have survived this long by desperately lying to hide her identity, and could only be sent here by the Fjerdan government if she’d been caught - and yet she still believes in her country and exclaims its might. She is praising a government that has literally enslaved her and led her to her death, as they have done with thousands of other grisha. My personal headcanon here is that she is deeply indoctrinated by the Fjerdan government and has grown up to hate herself because of the world she is surrounded by. When she was eventually caught, she was offered to go to Ravka and serve her country in this way instead of going to trial and death, so she agreed. I imagine that she was only offered this because the experiments with parem meant the Fjerdans knew she would die anyway, and even if the parem itself (or Alina) didn’t finish her off, then she would be killed or tortured on her return in the Ice Court laboratory. My headcanon is that she was offered this proposition by Jarl Brum, and this is how they intend to write him in ready for the Six of Crows spin off show
(Also, if you happen to be familiar with my tumblr then it might not surprise you to know that I’ve (so far) filled 28 pages of my little notebook whilst watching the new season, and I only started making notes in episode 6, so believe me when I say that if you like these posts I have plenty more to come)

Deception & Intriuge
Tumblr media
A/N: This was requested over on our wattpad, another request will be out soon for YanSim! I’m just focusing on school at the moment since the workloads increased. I hope you enjoy!
I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO ADD THAT Y/N IS KIRA!!
____________________________________
KIRA…
TRANSLATION; KILLER
The night air was thick with tension as Y/N strolled through the dimly lit streets, shrouded in mystery. Another encounter awaited him at the Japanese task force building, where L resided. As he approached the building, a sense of both curiosity and agitation washed over him.
L was starting to suspect him which was getting on his nerves. But also. This was perfect. Y/n saw an opportunity in L’s unexpected liking towards him, realising the potential to turn the tide of the investigation to his advantage. With a calculated approach, these last few months he had been under L’s surveillance, he had strategically begun to build a stronger connection with him, gaining his trust through subtle cooperation and active involvement through the case. Y/n elected some sort of empathy from L, clouding his judgement and creating a shield around himself.
Inside, a labyrinth of monitors and scattered notes filled the room. L, a figure cloaked in the shadows, turned his piercing gaze towards you. “I have been observing you.” he said, voice laced with suspicion. “There are certain inconsistencies in your actions that raise my suspicions.” His intellect was unmatched, Y/N couldn’t help but be captivated by his presence.
But Y/N was not without his secrets. Throughout school, he was classified as a genius right through to his adulthood. He is highly perceptive, and manipulative. He wouldn’t be foolish enough to slip out a single word that would hint that he was Kira.
“May I ask, what certain inconsistencies are you speaking of?” He paused, thinking for a moment. “Ryuzaki?”
“Kira is located in the Kanto region of Japan, he is believed to be a college student based on the timings of the killings. It’s obvious also that he has access to the police database, shown through the timing adjustments and a behavioural analysis we conducted whilst you were under camera surveillance at home.”
Y/N’s chest tightened, keeping the innocent facade present as his hands rested in his pockets. “Interesting deductions, L. The investigation certainly seems thorough. But I must say, attributing all these traits to one person seems like a stretch. Let's not overlook the possibility of a more elaborate scheme at play here, shall we?”
L found himself back in a loophole, so utterly confused, yet he knew Y/N was Kira. What was stopping him from detaining him? He disregarded his feelings for him, the slight attraction that grew for Y/N each day was starting to get to him.
The dance of words and gestures became a delicate balance between exposing his true intentions and maintaining his innocence.
“Funny how Kira seems to have a knack for timing, isn’t it? Almost as if they have insider information..” Y/N spoke casually
As L’s piercing gaze lingered on Y/N, a playful smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, hidden behind his facade of innocence. He knew damn well that he had L’s attention, and he relished in the thrill of the game they played, each step drawing them together.
“Well Ryuzaki?” Y/N began, his tone teasing. “I must admit, once again your suspicions are certainly flattering. You tend to love a good mystery, especially when it's directly in front of you.”
L’s expression remained stoic, but a hint of amusement flickered in his eyes. “Flattery will get you nowhere, Y/N.” He retorted. “But I must admit, you do have a certain charm to you..”
Y/N couldn’t help but chuckle softly, arms crossed over his chest. “I’m well aware of my charms.” He replied. “But it seems you’re the one caught in my web of intrigue. Tell me, detective, are you enjoying the chase as much as I am?”
L’s lips quivered into a half-smile, a rare display of amusement. “You’re certainly full of surprises, Y/N.” He admitted.

(ummm hello. you don’t actually have to respond/answer these i’m just rambling)
but!!! irminsul in an imposter au is a really neat idea. ummm assuming (correct me if i’m wrong???) that reader can access the information like kusanali, that’s actually a really useful tool
even if it’s only after they desperately think of a way to get out of danger, thinking of places and thinking of irminsul by chance, if they figure it out, that’s such a good escape??? especially at the beginning when whoever’s hunting them just sees them disappear and nobody has a clue where they are (unless kusanali comes to look at some point??? but i’d assume at that point reader would’ve found those hiding places you mentioned)
and depending on how much time reader is willing to spend in irminsul collecting information, weaknesses that they might’ve not known before could be used and leave their pursuers wondering how did they know?
(and maybe, just maybe, leave them questioning if they’re really an imposter)
but i’m really curious if irminsul would have records of the reader.
because? technically, reader, as “creator”, would not be from teyvat, right?
in some versions of sagau imposter au, i’ve seen kusanali as the only archon (that’s out rn) who knows that the reader is actually the creator, but without records in irminsul, she would have no way of telling, so it could go either way probably depending on the severity of worship you decide on
irminsul branches are connected to the leylines (which are in every nation) which could be used as a method to get around maybe? if reader can’t use the teleport waypoints/if traveler is also against them
ooooh dainslief. because he’s the bough keeper, and he’s always talking about knowing what he should or whatever, how would he react to someone he knows nothing about? (traveler’s sibling is recorded, and some people think that the player’s username is traveler’s alias in teyvat, but uhh that’s a little complicated.)
but yeah, if he knew you were the imposter, he was probably subconsciously (or however he gets the information) look for it, and if he found nothing???
eee idk my thoughts are not being coherent right now but this was just a very cool idea :D
Thank you, Anon! I love your ramble tbh lol- I legit could not have thought of this myself :')
Yes, technically, Reader wouldn't exactly be recorded into irminsul. They are the Creator of Teyvat, yes, but that doesn't mean they're rooted into the vast, on-going archive that is the big ol' tree we see. Even though some AUs like to have Kusanali as the only archon that knows who they truly are, I honestly don't see how it's possible. Reader's basically a "descender" that hasn't exactly interacted with the people of Teyvat face to face for them to really know how the Reader is like and all that. In Imposter!Sagau, however, the Imposter would most likely be written down in the vast ley lines.
I would personally believe that Reader should be able to gain access to the knowledge stored within the ley line energy, considering who they are to this very world.
In some Sagau Aus that I've read, Teyvat favors the Reader a lot and would side with them even if the characters wouldn't. If this is the case to these AUs, then irminsul could also give Kusanali herself false signals whenever Reader visits or teleports to the tree. They don't want anyone knowing their present location. It's the least Teyvat could do to let the Reader rest for a bit.
Reader being able to get around the place by using the ley lines would be a very awesome concept! Imagine if Reader basically just becomes the ley line energy and travels throughout Teyvat to get to places. That would be so cool.
It would also be very interesting to see what the Reader would do if the ley line energy were to spill out—like, would other people think that the Reader was a part of the memory the ley lines are showing or something? Or would they attack the Reader on sight and wonder how the heck they managed to pop out of nowhere?
Meeting Dainslief would be so awkward lol—the Reader, branded as the imposter, somehow has no information existent in the ley line energy, but the supposed "Creator" does?
I honestly think that, from the moment the Reader was deemed as the Imposter, Dainsleif would see take this chance to see what information there is to the Reader. In other words, I suspect even before we met the dude, the guy's already know we were the actual creator.
But still let's be honest—it'd still be awkward to just pop out of the ley lines and just run into the dude who supposedly tried to research everything there is to know about you, only to result in nothing but the current, existing rumors that go about the place.
And, let's be honest, I don't think Dainslief would join us to travel the world or protect us from the world. The Reader might solely be on their own until they prove themselves as the actual Creator.
Well, that's all I got! Thanks for brainroting in my mailbox, Anon—it was fun to add on to your ideas!
See you around! :D

What Is It In You I Cannot See?
Astarion fails to sneak on Zelie, but somehow he still ends up with a full belly. Nothing asked of him. He is scared of her and angry at her at the same time. He is also happy. He is in uncharted territory. He doesn't understand if she'll be his salvation or his doom.
He also hates dogs.
TW: references to past SA (nothing graphic), mentions of animal cruelty (if him wanting to eat Scratch counts).
This is a oneshot from a longer fic idea. Zelie is my named Tav OC, but here there is no physical description, aside from eye colour.
Tagging @spacebarbarianweird because she's so talented and kind!
“Remind me again, darling, what are we doing in these godsforsaken woods?”
Astarion had woken up…happy—with a full stomach (He had forgotten what that felt like) and a clear head (He can hear the stern cadence of her sweet, precious blood being pumped through her heart).
His restless reverie made bearable by the life essence he took last night.
No, not took. He was too pathetically weak even for the basic functions of a vampire. It was a gift.
This is a gift—I won’t forget it.
He said as much, head tilted towards her, looking, but not seeing; he couldn’t bear to actually stare at the person he was indebted to now.
She doesn’t call it debt. There are enough ill-guided, wretched ideas floating in that head of hers, all about justice and fairness and respect, that she hasn’t asked anything in return for her donation.
Yet.
She will. If he thinks too long about it, it terrifies him.
No one hands their life blood over to anyone (to a monster) without a sizeable payback in mind. Either that, or he’ll have to start believing all her ideals (Her actions) are not an elaborate set of masks to trick him into trust (She’d be more idiotic than he thought, in that case).
Still, her confounding attitude worked in his favour. Not only he wasn’t left to starve the night before (a novelty in and of itself), but he’ll get future access to his dinner for the foreseeable future.
She said so (“You can feed on me again, IF you swear you won’t hurt others and stick to animals when I’m not around”). Her face carved in stone, unmovable as she always is when establishing her rules. Her boundaries.
(No one ever cared for his boundaries. An object of pleasure doesn't need any.)
But she looked at him like he would actually understand, as if the concept couldn’t be so foreign to him. Something in the world shifted.
Truth be told, you were my first.
Something changes in her eyes too and her expression softens, but doesn’t relent.
“Let’s keep me as the only for now. If you wish to tell the others and any of them are willing to donate their blood too, then you can expand your culinary options.”
What?
He knows she didn’t spill his secret to their companions (Gods forbid, someone as noble as their leader did that), but he assumed she would push him to reveal himself. Why wouldn’t she? She made such a fuss about how wrong lying is, and honesty this and fuck him that, and now she is willfully withholding information from the rest of the group.
Why?
You nearly got us killed at the Grove. Couldn’t keep your little mouth shut with that useless healer about the tadpoles. Foolish idiot, you’ll be our doom.
Was it a test? See what the hungry spawn does and punish him if he makes a mistake?
Astarion has an inkling of what she would like him to do, because it tends to be the total opposite of what he would do. He would continue their little arrangement in private, for as long as possible. He may have been a slave for centuries, but he’s not so daft. Why would a vampire willingly oust himself to a group that includes a literal monster hunter in their midst.
It would be suicidal and he has wished for death more times he can recount—often masked as sensual whimpers and pleas in brothels and alleys—but he doesn’t wish it now.
He won’t let a presumptuous, sheltered human kill him with her righteousness when decades of torture didn’t.
Not now he’s finally out of his grasp.
Not now he can exist in the sun.
Not now that he’s stuck in the mud chatting to a mutt.
Wait, what?
The scene in front of him is dreamlike: their stoic leader is knee deep in the dirt, shiny eyes coaxing a clearly aggressive dog closer, Karlach talking to it as if it were worthy of conversation.
Zélie stares at the mutt as if in a trance. Astarion asks her why they were in the woods in the first place to see if the dog isn’t actually a hypnotising hag.
The mutt snarls at him and he snarls back. Filthy beast.
“Hush, Astarion!” Zélie whispers, “he’s scared. You’ll only scare him more”
He takes notice of the corpse near the dog. Clearly dead. Filthy and stupid beast.
“Sweet thing you are, worrying about it,” he coos.
Hells below, you idiot.
“But may I remind you we are trying to get to a den of vicious goblins to find the blasted druid who can fix our wiggly issue?”
He points at his temple and she gives him the look. They’ve been travelling together for no more than a tenday and he already earned a signature look from her.
All piercing, hardened eyes and the disapproving tilt of the head a mother would give to her child before a good dressing down.
He wonders what his punishment will be, and his scars burn, his hands shake.
He quickly fists them behind his back to hide the tremors (A broken toy is worthless), strikes a casual figure, and something in her gaze mellows. Before it could have stricken down a dragon from the skies, now it would only manage a bear.
It certainly won’t manage a vampire.
He scowls at her, but her attention is already back on the mutt now within arm’s reach.
“You know, Astarion,” she murmurs, petting its fur with a care that had to be an act (Tenderness has no place in any realm), “dogs are beautiful creatures. They feel as much as us.”
Another stroke behind its ears, soft and barely there. Astarion’s own ears twitch.
“They accept our love, our mistakes, our pain, and still stay by our side. Sometimes they even see past our cruelty, so strong is their loyalty. I think you won’t find a more worthy companion.”
Another caress on its muzzle. The hint at complete loyalty to another would normally tear through him ('Remember thou art mine, useless boy'), but Astarion is transfixed by her hands on white fur (Would they touch his own white hair like that?) and his fangs are dangerously close to peeking through his lips.
(Two centuries of utter shit, but the mutt runs across her bare moments after his owner’s died.)
If I was alone, I’d bleed you dry. Animals only, so she said.
Fucking dog befriended, Astarion is ripped from his thoughts as Zélie stops her ministrations and stands up. She bows her head at—
“Scratch. Meet Astarion. Astarion, meet Scratch.”
The dog eyes him for a moment, then barks. Astarion almost hisses back. It’s his dear leader standing in front of him that stops him.
“I know he may look slightly ruffled, Scratch, but I like to think that you can trust him.”
Excuse me?!
She cannot speak with animals, so why the hells is she making polite conversation with it?!
“And you,” eyes on his, he hates how he has to prove that he can hold her look without squirming. She has the gaze of someone used to having a certain level of authority, and it disgusts him. His hands tremble more, nails now digging in his palms.
('You're nothing but a scared, little boy').
The others have moved further along the path, but she whispers it nonetheless, “When I say you should feed on animals, this is clearly not what I mean. Dogs are out of your food chain. Please, Astarion”
He doesn’t remember when it was the last time anyone ever said please to him, when someone kept a secret for him, and it’s enough to shock him into compliance.
“Thank you,” she says, a little smile on her thin lips (it looks foreign on her stone-like face).
She heads along the path without realising what she’s done. As if people handed thank yous around like nothing. He’s seen her thanking others, occasionally: Gale for his food, Shadowheart for the healing, even Lae’zel for not disembowelling a tiefling  (How disappointing). But to him?
(He hasn’t done anything, besides taking her blood and her temporary alliance)
He kills and maims what enemies they encounter because he revels in the violence. In the control over another’s life—in not him being the pitiful wretch for once. If she thinks he’s doing it out of some sense of morality, then she’s even more idiotic than he thought.
She could simply be a pathetic moron with a noble soul. One who follows her way even when she doesn’t want to. Even when they do her more harm than good (Shouting a speech on interracial cooperation from a high rock to stop a vicious group of goblins and humans from killing each other was a terrible idea. Surprisingly, she only got scraps from all the arrows flying at her).
No. She isn’t. No one is like that.
Phantom touches on his body remind him of this shit world every second of every day and they will do so for as long as he lives. They all have their motives. She just hides hers beside a very put-together mask. An impressive one, if he can say so.
He falls into step with her as usual (Because he needs to make sure she doesn’t drag them to an unwilling death, because he needs to keep himself in her good graces now she knows his secret) and she acknowledges him with a nod.
The smile is still there—odd. She looks a moment away from giggling, a sound that he didn't think her mouth could form.
Now he needs to know.
“Copper for your thoughts, darling?” he drawls.
What’s going on in that confusing head of yours?
“I just thought—when Scratch said he’d join us at camp. I pictured Withers and him,” a corner of her mouth lifts, “playing catch. ‘Cometh here, oh chosen canine, and followeth thy ball along its rightful path.’”

Her eyes tear up from contained laughter (Have they always been so blue? He just realises one is more of a grey colour), then she coughs a little and her entire face resettles on its usual assessing expression.
"You're a bad influence, Astarion. I don't usually tease my elders, especially not millennia-old ones."
Astarion blinks (So she does have a sense of humour, even if it’s terrible).
He finds himself leaning into her, testing the boundaries. His sultry voice in her ear. "Darling, as your elder, you can tease me all you like. You have my permission." He is rewarded not with a whimper of excitement, but with the look again.
He finds himself suppressing a stray giggle and his hands stop shaking.

Very typical that you'd block me without saying anything or giving a good argument. But either way, I stand by what I said. Both things can be true that you can support the Palestinians without being antisemitic and support the Jewish/Israeli without being anti Palestine. And that's what the majority of these celebrities that you're so desperately trying to get cancelled are doing. I don't even know why you care so much what celebrities are saying or not saying, because like I said before, they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. And the fact that you're okay with an entire race and a specific group suffering just because it's not your people being affected and because of corrupt politics says a lot more about you than it does about the people you're trying to get cancelled. But oh well, that's on you. I'm gonna keep enjoying my favorite celebrities and all the movies and TV shows they're in, because life's just too precious to cancel everyone over every little thing and to pass up watching good content just it features a celebrate that did something I didn't approve of. You're the one in the wrong, not anyone else.
i don’t care about what a celebrity says. it doesn’t change my mind, specifically, about a given situation. but a primary role of the celebrity for decades has been to influence public opinion. why else is israel offering to pay internet celebrities thousands of dollars a post if they say they’re standing with israel? why is israel offering to pay FOLLOWERS of those people if they go on livestreams and flood the comments with israeli flags? why else do businesses in half the US states have a loyalty clause to israel? celebrities are not just making art. regardless of what they say, whether they say anything at all, they are informing public opinion. this is not a new phenomenon and this is not me trying to cancel someone. if genocide is a “little thing” you can overlook because u want to watch a movie then by all means that’s a You problem. if i can withhold my dollar from going to someone who either only publicly supports israel for their own financial gain (which is beyond shameful) or actually genuinely believes israel is fighting the good fight (which is bigoted and also stupid), then i’m going to keep my fucking money. if i can convince even one other person to do the same, then i’m fucking going to do that.
and tell me how. How can you be in support of palestine without opposing israel. israel≠jewish as many people have explained many times so i’m not getting into that bullshit with you. my hatred for israel has nothing to do with my feelings for jewish people as a whole, thousands of whom have flooded the streets to fight for palestinians. hundreds of whom stormed the US congress to fight for palestinians. if you want to think israel=judaism that’s again a You problem, i’m not falling for that. palestinians themselves are semites so we will not be going over an antisemitism lesson again.
but tell me HOW you propose to give palestinians their dignity and their freedom without dismantling the israeli apartheid. you cannot complacently be in the middle of this when one side is carrying out actual genocide and the other side is asking to be allowed to live in their own fucking homes. israel is bombing mosques and churches and hospitals, where it knows thousands are sheltering and which is criminal to do even if there are no civilians inside, and you want to support israel equally? fuck you. withholding food and water and electricity and medical supplies, so that literal fucking children are being operated on in the dark without anesthesia and thousands are developing sepsis because they cannot be treated properly and women are taking pills to stop their periods because they have no access to menstrual products or clean water, which will inevitably lead to fertility problems (if they even survive that long), and 50,000 pregnant women are due to give birth very soon but have no means to do so safely and i could keep going because the horrors are endless. so how the fuck do you expect me to sympathize with the other side when it refuses to accept the hostages it claims to be committing all these atrocities for and when those same hostages debunk everything israeli media and western media (they're one and the same) have been trying to get people to believe and when it kills its own people as collateral damage because the intent is to annihilate palestinians at all cost. tell me. how do reconcile all of this in your shriveled heart and be on both sides of the issue. you cannot support both sides equally.
"You're the one in the wrong, not anyone else." say that individually to the 300,000 people in london and the 15,000 in sydney and 30,000 in chicago and 10,000 in brooklyn and 25,000 in los angeles and 7,000 in düsseldorf and 15,000 in paris and thousands upon thousands in other cities all across the globe who came out to stand with palestinians. tell every single one of us that we are wrong and you, a faceless motherfucker on tumblr dot com with an empty blog, are right. bitch.
