BrattyShipping Headcanons Pt. 2
Previous Installments: Part 1
Apprenticeship
- What, you thought I was just gonna gloss over the brunt of Bede’s character arc? Why would anyone wanna do that? It’s an awesome arc and it deserves to be shown.
- Whenever Opal’s tutelage got particularly frustrating, Bede’s primary method of motivating themselves into not murdering her was spite. While spite toward Chairman Rose became more prevalent as they grew to accept the reality of how he treated them (I mean, come on. He couldn’t even remember their name even after years of supporting them), they initially channeled their spite toward Victor and Gloria. In Gloria’s case, it was almost definitely actual spite, though in Victor’s case it was more generalized rivalry and determination to prove themselves to him (of course, they just interpreted this to be a different kind of spite).
- You know that trope that’s used in about 70% of fan-fics following Bakugou where the cocky asshole character is starting to pine for someone but interprets it as anger or something? That’s pretty much exactly what Bede goes through because they’re smart as hell but too emotionally dense to figure out they genuinely respect and are grateful to Victor.
- Since Hattrem/Hatterene is an empath, she is MORE than aware of her trainer’s actual feelings. She mostly just gives them the same disapproving look whenever they blatantly misinterpret their growing feelings for Victor. Were it not for her attachment to Bede, she probably would have strangled them at some point.
- Opal starts to pick up on at least their respect for him when he keeps going on about “finally showing him my true potential.” Being, well, Opal, she starts getting crafty and uses this knowledge to help motivate her protege.
- “You’re never going to get that boy’s attention with that sour attitude.” “My attitude is perfect! I can get his attention by stomping him into the dirt before he can process what’s happening!” “Perhaps, but where’s the fun in that? Only by channeling the essence of pinkness can you truly feel satisfaction in your victory.” “Hmm... True...” [Both looking smug for different reasons]
- Victor gave them his League Card when he received theirs (mostly out of courtesy), which they tack to a corkboard alongside Rose’s card in their new living space in Opal’s guestroom. They dub it their “vengeance board” and write motivational vows of spite on sticky notes that they tack around the pictures. Needless to say, this is one of Hatterene’s main sources of irritation at her trainer’s sheer emotional density.
- Meanwhile, Victor starts becoming increasingly unsettled by Rose in the wake of learning what he did to Bede. He begins to note occasional suspicious bits of his behavior and can’t shake the feeling that he’s not as nice as his usual demeanor displays. Oleana’s interference only serves to further his suspicion.
- Bede watches the League qualifiers with Opal, still fairly upset about not being able to compete themselves. Victor and Gloria defeat Marnie, Hop, and the other challengers to earn their roles in opposing brackets of the semi-finals. Upon watching the twins’ success, Opal and Hatterene note Bede’s notably differing reaction between, “figures that brat won,” and, “good. Looks like I finally have a chance to prove to that idiot what I’m truly capable of.” Opal finds it incredibly entertaining while Hatterene is damn near ready to break something over their head.
Galar League
- On the day of the semi-finals, Bede “sneaks” out to Wyndon to crash Victor’s impending match. Opal is well aware of their plans, but lets them without saying anything for her own amusement and as the final step in their quest to self-acceptance.
- Victor is fairly surprised to see Bede when they barge onto the battlefield, but he’s ultimately glad to see they’re doing okay. When Bede starts “pouring their heart out to him when they’ve never lost their cool before,” Victor is substantially surprised by the difference from the Bede he initially knew. He wholeheartedly accepts their challenge, even before the judges officially give the go-ahead, looking forward to seeing just how much Bede has grown.
- It was a surprisingly close match, but Victor ended up so engrossed in the battle that he practically forgot the massive crowd was surrounding them the entire time.
- After Bede’s defeat, Victor concurs with the crowd’s demands for them not to retire from battling, parroting his earlier sentiments that they shouldn’t lose hope after one mistake. It’s just not like them. Bede refuses to admit its Victor’s support that convinces them to continue their rise to the rank of gym leader, using the crowd’s will as an excuse that Victor easily sees through. He wishes Bede the best of luck in their endeavors on their way off the battlefield, which they reluctantly reciprocate towards Victor’s upcoming matches.
- Gloria grumps about Bede just lucking their way into a gym leader position, but Victor reminds her they’ve gone through a lot to get where they are and have clearly started working to make up for their mistakes. He finally convinces her to stop acting sour about it by reminding her that they are still very much being forced to put up with Opal’s antics, which brings a smug smile to his sister’s face.
- Bede continues watching the rest of the semi-final matches from the stands, sitting next to Marnie without actually recognizing her. She finds her best friend after the day’s matches are over and reports her observations of Bede’s not-entirely-concealed investment in his battles.
- After winning their way through their semi-final brackets, Victor and Gloria face off in the tournament finals to determine who will challenge Leon for the title of Champion. After Gloria ultimately claims victory, Bede storms down to the locker rooms and greets Victor with a bonk on the head and an appalled scowl as he steps into the hallway, informing Victor that they knew full well he made an intentionally sloppy call near the end of the match. Victor admits to somewhat throwing the match, explaining that he felt he made the right call. He states that the battle could always have ended up in either of their favors were it not for a couple lucky breaks, that Gloria was always more suited for the title, and that he never actually wanted to become Champion in the first place. Being Champion meant becoming the most sought-after public image in the region and regularly dealing with crowds and fans, plus it would make following his actual dreams more difficult due to the busy schedule of the role.
- Bede takes some time to accept Victor’s decision, but ultimately has no choice but to reluctantly acknowledge how much thought he put into it. When Victor inquires why Bede cares so much in the first place, they sputter about not wanting their rival to make them look worse by extension. Seeing through the tsundere act again, Victor plays along, but warmly thanks Bede for being so concerned about them anyway as he heads to watch the Championship match with Hop and Marnie.
Darkest Day/Championship Match
- While raiding Hammerlocke Stadium, Victor sends Hop and Gloria ahead while he battles Rose in the power core. As the two fight, Victor firmly calls out Rose’s shortsightedness, making a point to cite his neglectful and unnecessarily harsh treatment of Bede when it was obvious all they wanted to do was make him proud of them.
- Before Rose turns himself in for his actions, Victor has him write a formal apology to Bede, since his treatment of them was never really acknowledged in any of his other apologies. He hands it to them on their way to the stands before Gloria and Leon’s match, advising them to wait until after to look at it just to avoid any potential “unintended breaks in their cool.”
- Bede decides to trust Victor and reads Rose’s apology later that evening. They keep their distance for a bit, mostly since they know better than to crash the celebration the others throw Gloria just to talk to her brother. They have enough social awareness at this point to not show up uninvited to a party for someone who still clearly dislikes them where someone else they still have yet to make amends with (Hop) is guaranteed to be.
- They use their still fairly-prevalent roster of Psychic Pokemon to determine which hotel room Victor is staying in, writing a note on the now-empty envelope and slipping it under the door for him to find.
- As per the letter’s request, Victor heads to Wyndon’s Battle Cafe the next morning, where Bede waits to thank him somewhat less reluctantly than their other admissions have been. After Victor happily accepts Bede’s thanks, he inquires as to why Bede would go out of their way just to thank someone. Failing to deny that they went out of their way, Bede admits to both Victor and themselves that they’ve grown some sort of respect towards him.
- Victor warmly affirms Bede for their growth and restates that he feels they’ll be a great gym leader, as well as complimenting the genuine smile they show soon after. As they finish their brunch, Bede insists on finally exchanging contact information since “it’s only natural for rivals to have a basic means of contact.” Victor makes a joke about Bede asking for his number after a “successful date,” which mostly just invokes Bede’s pouty glare before swiping Victor’s Rotom Phone and plugging in their number before storming out.
- Victor ends up getting stuck with the bill, but he decides it’s worth it.
- When Bede returns to Ballonlea, Opal’s definitely connected the dots about their festering crush on Victor. She welcomes them back in her own fashion before informing them that she’s doubling down on Fairy-Type boot camp to make up for the days they were gone. Whether they admit it or not, Bede also believes it’s worth it.
- Hatterene just decides to accept their progress for now for the sake of her sanity.
Still more to come! We haven’t even gotten to the actual relationship yet! That’s like half the fun!

It was a bit challenging to write Leon's part, but once I got past not knowing what to write it was pretty fun to do!
Relationship Headcanons For Leon And Bede
Leon
He's an absolute himbo.
Leon is very, very sweet and caring, but that's not stopping him from joking around and play fighting with you.
If you're okay with it, that is.
He's also very prone to preform very cheesy, romantic gestures.
He probably brought you an Applin in a love ball like 3 months into the relationship. Ignore the fact that he's covered in scratches he totally didn't piss off a Linoone by tripping over it's tail really don't worry he's fine-
Totally has like 50+ pictures of you wearing his various snap-backs.
He'll try to make you breakfast in bed and set the toaster on fire by accident.
A master of tasteful PDA.
Bede
100% Seems like a tsundere at first.
It wasn't like that for long though, and while he doesn't really feel comfortable with PDA, it's still very obvious that he loves you.
At home? He's almost always showing affection in one way or another.
He'll be big spoon if you want, but he honestly loves to be little spoon, just give this dude some cuddles he needs affection.
He may have some issues left over from his childhood, but ever since Opal took him in he's become a much better person overall.
He's not all affection though, he is still Bede, after all. He likes to have some friendly banter, though sometimes it may come out sounding more rude like he was during the gym challenge.
If you tell him that your uncomfortable with the banter, he will stop, he may slip up occasionally, but he'll do his best to avoid any topics that upset you.
He's doing his best okay

Medea’s Anime/Game Superlative of 2019
Well it’s that time of the year where I look back on the animes I’ve watched and the games I played with this outdated meme quiz from 10 years ago. But I still do it for the fun of it! As usual, it doesn’t matter what year the anime or game came out. If I messed with it this year, it counts for the honors. So if it came out two years ago (which feels like forever ago), it counts. Let’s get at it!
Tumblr media
First Fandom of 2019: The Promised Neverland
Episode 1! That’s all you need to watch to officially get hooked to this series. I jumped on this title at the beginning of the year not knowing what to expect due to Aniplex and Crunchyroll whoring this particular anime months prior. But once I saw the first episode, I was immediately hooked. It shook me to my core to watch one of the most graphic scenes to come from this year. I was captivated by Emma, Norman, and Ray’s plans in order to escape their doomed fate of becoming food for creepy demons. Each episode, I was at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Is Gilda in cahoots with Sister Krone? Will Don learn the truth about what really happened to Connie in episode 1? Can Ray be trusted? IS NORMAN STILL ALIVE?! Come on, I’m like really far ahead in the manga. I want to see Norman and Emma together again. I’m so happy this series is getting a second season in 2020.
Tumblr media
Favorite Main Character of 2019: Haru from My Roommate is a Cat
It was a close call this year for main characters and normally I don’t shoot for main characters. This year I will admit that I fell in love with Chika from Kaguya-sama. Plus, I still love me some Lana from Pokemon Sun/Moon! And I finally started part III of Jojo’s, so Grandpa Joestar is just the awesome OH MY GOD that I need. However, they all lose out to a cat! Yeah, just like that one year where I picked Nyanko-sensei as my favorite main character, I’m doing it again.
I know Haru can’t actually talk back to her human, but the audience can hear what she’s really saying and it’s absolutely amusing. She was funny when she thought the word “Haru” meant food. She’s so adorable when she’s playing with whatever catches her eye. She’s got quite the personality (almost tsundere even). But I gotta admire Haru too. Before she was adopted, Haru was on the street trying her best to look out for her younger siblings. Even giving them more food scraps when she would go hungry herself. After Haru was adopted by Subaru, she eventually warmed up to him as “her human”. It was a learning experience for both as Haru didn’t know how to react to having a human care for her and Subaru has never taken care of a cat before. But Haru is a loyal kitty who loves her human. Hell, she ran away from home because she feared her human collapsed somewhere. Haru’s the greatest!
Favorite Villain of 2019:
…Dear God, give me the strength to pull through this one.
Tumblr media
Princess Malty “Myne, Bitch, Whore” Melromarc (The Rising of the Shield Hero)
No, this is not me insulting her. These are all her official names. Really! In many of the animes I watched this year, the villains were pretty hit-and-miss with me. I’m in the middle of watching the elven uprise with Black Clover and didn’t want to talk about that this year. Fairy Tail’s villains are just okay. And I didn’t watch Frieza this year! So let’s talk about the ONE villain who even out-trump’s the actual villain to the series.
It only took one episode for an entire fandom to turn on one single character. A single lie that figuratively speaking threw our main protagonist Naofumi under the bus, kicked him in the nuts, shanked him, robbed him, and thrown him off a cliff. Myne did so much throughout this series. She lied about being raped. She abused her power to get what she wanted. She set up someone to fail constantly. She attempted murder on her own sister (several times) just to keep her status as first in line to the throne. And she cheats so she gets her way! It was so sickening to watch this vile woman for more than just one episode. When you created a character who was so disgusting and revolting as a secondary villain, you did something right! It’s like with Shou Tucker and Father from Full Metal Alchemist. Ask any anime fan and they’ll definitely remember Tucker over Father. Myne is this anime’s Shou Tucker! And I have to give her some credit, she is now one memorable villain. And aren’t villains usually supposed to be despised? I, Naofumi, most characters in Shield Hero after episode 21, and all of the internet can come together in agreement to say, we hate Malty, Myne, Bitch, Whore.
Final insult on the matter, she’s a cunt!
Tumblr media
Favorite Video Game Character(s) of 2019: Piers & Marnie (Pokemon: Sword and Shield)
I knew point blank that Marnie was going to be my favorite rival in this game. I knew I was going to enjoy the antics of her yell squad (a.k.a. Team Yell) too. But I never expected to meet her brother and enjoy him too. Like in more recent games, Pokemon has given your character a total of three rivals to look out for. And while Hop is just the British version of Hau and Bede is just…a fuck-face, Marnie was someone who marched to the beat of her own drum. She recognizes a powerful foe and has a level of respect for her rival. She has her own fanbase, but isn’t totally arrogant about it. Plus, she doesn’t mind helping you out and giving an extra boost in battle. Plus that smile scene is just too adorable for words. And then there’s Piers!
First of all, I just love the design of this guy. What did I say when I first laid eyes on him? It’s like if David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, and Sid Vicious threw up on a pentagram crafted from Hot Topic gear and this dude emerges! And much like his sister, he marches to the beat of his own drum. That’s why he’s the only gym leader in Galar that doesn’t use the Dynamax method. I would have been satisfied if I only got to see him once or twice in the game. But I was blessed when Piers came to my aid to take down the Marco Cosmos thugs AND take on all the rogue Dynamax pokemon in the post-game. I’m impressed! Out of all the people they picked to help the protagonist and Hop in this adventure, it was Piers. I am ever so happy by this. I am so heavily invested in this guy that I’m already thinking of fic ideas involving him.
Tumblr media
Favorite Game of 2019: Pokemon Masters
As much as I really do love Pokemon Sword and Shield, I gotta give it to the mobile game this year. This game not only made one of my reoccurring dreams come true, but gave it something no other Pokemon game has been able to do in over twenty years. HUMAN VOICES! The trainers, they speak! AND YOU CAN CHANGE BETWEEN ENGLISH AND JAPANESE! Do you have any idea how much of a win this is for me! I know they’ll never have Tracey Sketchit in the game, but this still rocks my world. Do you know how much I love hearing Mamoru Miyano play a dickish bad guy? Do you know how badly I need to hear Daisuke Ono on a day-to-day basis? I’m a voice queen!
I know I don’t usually like to give praise to freemium games for the mobile phones, but this game is quite nice. I mean, yeah, you really do have to save up your gems in order to (hopefully) get the 5-star trainer that’s currently advertised and the urge of wanting to open up your wallet to actually purchase gems is tantalizing. Not as fucked as Fate/Grand Order, but you get my meaning. Unlike a lot of the freemium games, this one doesn’t limit you so much to play (unless you spend fake or real money in the game). You can super train all you want and not lose stamina! Plus, I like these special sync moves between trainer and pokemon. And there’s just something about seeing all of these different trainers from all these regions together and interacting with each other. Despite never seeing a lot of this in the anime, manga, or previous games.
Tumblr media
Favorite Het Couple of 2019: Retsuko x Haida (Aggretsuko)
In one of my baby accomplishments this year, I stopped being a tight-wad and splurged on a Netflix account. Right around the same time it becomes unpopular. Hahaha! Why does this always happen to me?
Throughout the series, we’ve watched Retsuko take chances with a lot of guys including a charming polar bear, a red panda with the brain of a pot plant, and the world’s handsomest donkey. But Retsuko has friend-zoned her workmate Haida the whole time. Meanwhile, I and pretty much like 90% of the fanbase ship the fuck out of this. Rightfully so! Haida has been admiring her from afar for so long. He tries his best to be supportive of her in the office and elsewhere. He was even nice enough to run back to the office to try and help Retsuko with the last-minute paperwork thrown at her on Christmas Eve. Hell, we watched him at his best in the season two finale helping to corner Tadano. And even though she turned him down at the end of season one, I still hold out that there’s hope. I mean, it was right after a break-up, so it was kind of the right call for Retsuko to not go out with Haida. Season three could give us this ship in the end. I know Retsuko doesn’t see Haida as boyfriend material as of now, but I have a feeling it can change.
Tumblr media
Favorite Yuri Couple of 2019: Atsuko “Akko” Kagari x Amanda O’Neill (Little Witch Academia)
That’s right, Akko and Amanda. This is the one Yuri ship I’m leaning on more than all the other ones. I know she wasn’t involved in the infamous love-bee episode, but that still didn’t stop me from making dirty jokes whenever these two girls were together for an episode. And that’s what makes it better! Akko and Amanda’s relationship wasn’t tampered with because of a love bee, what they have is real! Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating. But whenever I see them together doing something in an episode, I can totally see them as something more. Then again, my mind is warped.
Besides, this is as close to a yuri couple as I got this year. I can’t mention the one second we got of Ymir x Historia from Attack on Titan. Yayoi and Shion didn’t get much in Psycho Pass 3. And it’s leaps and bounds better than that OTHER anime I watched with two girls. Happy Sugar Life? More like a big pile of nope!
Tumblr media
Favorite Yaoi Couple of 2019: Mafuyu Satou x Ritsuka Uenoyama (Given)
You knew it was coming! I was rooting for these two boys since they met in episode one. And even though I had to hold it back a bit when I learned of Mafuyu’s grieving, I still hoped that one day, these two boys would defy the odds and become the sweetest couple of 2019. Was I correct? While it wasn’t as full-blown gay as Yuri on Ice, it still gave us so much.
As I mentioned, Mafuyu was in a relationship prior to meeting Uenoyama. And this one ended in heartbreak as Mafuyu’s lover dies. But meeting Uenoyama, Mafuyu was able to smile again and got to play the instrument his previous lover left behind. Mafuyu was able to shake off the sad shackles of the past and start life anew. Now is this feeling mutual? Of course! Uenoyama dealt with the worry of “will he, won’t he” and by the end of the series, the audience seems pretty satisfied with the outcome and hope for the best of these sweet boys.
Tumblr media
Fandom That You Didn’t Expect To Get Into: Domestic Girlfriend
2019 has given me surprise amounts of incest! This year alone I wound up watching several surprise incest anime plots including Kiss x Sis, Marmalade Boy, and Eromanga Sensei. And those of you who are not on the up-take, surprise incest is primarily a love plot involving your step-sibling. But there was just something about Domestic Girlfriend that I just couldn’t shake. I couldn’t believe I binge-watched this entire series. I couldn’t believe I picked up the manga immediately after the finale. I couldn’t believe…that I didn’t despise this anime! Yeah, usually anything with even a whiff of incest, I throw in the trash and put a bullet through its head. This one, I did not.
Simple story! Boy named Natsuo fucks a random girl and also has a crush on his teacher. Natsuo’s father tells him he’s getting remarried. Then, BIG BOMBSHELL, the random girl that got fucked and his teacher are now going to be his step-sisters. Concept alone was just fifty shades of messed up. I mean, who the heck do you root for in this situation? Throughout the 12 episodes I went back and forth either rooting for Rui or Hina. And for episode, I rooted for Miu, the cute literary girl. I was so intrigued that I had to dig through the manga for more answers. But I enjoyed this trashy soap opera! I doubt it’ll get a sequel, but it was…fun for the most part. Too hot for television fun! And if that makes me trash, well call me Forky because...
Tumblr media
Yeah, I can admit that freely now.
Tumblr media
Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback: Fruits Basket
*squeals* I never thought this would come back into my life. One of my all-time favorite animes was returning with a reboot. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! Oh sure, the first half of this series was literally a shot-for-shot remake of the original Studio Deen anime. But even that was enough to make me love every frame of it. Fruits Basket was just one of those animes that grabs you with the intriguing tale of a cursed family that changes into members of the zodiac. Then they take you on a fun ride with silly moments like Kyo and Yuki fighting each other or Ayame telling his ridiculous stories or Hatsuharu flashing some guy his junk. But then this series takes you on a detour of the most heart-wrenching stories involving heartbreak, bullying, gangs, abandonment, and hiding your true self.
This show re-introduced us to the many colorful and complex characters that exist. From the ultra-flaymboyant Ayame to the complex Ritsu! Many of these characters have severe baggage coming and going and you just wish the best for them. And seeing Tohru reach out to just about everyone in her own way, to tell them she’s there for them and she accepts them all for who they are, it just gets to you. 18 years was too long to keep this gem away from us. Welcome back Fruits Basket, we missed you.
Tumblr media
Fandom That Inspired the Most Crack: Zombieland Saga
I know it came out last year, but I got the opportunity to finally watch it this year. And it was every bit of crazy as people told me it would be. Who would have thought mashing zombies and idol shows together would be a good idea?
Seriously! You’ve got Mamoru Miyano voicing the craziest character to date, who’s a necromancer who brings back seven girls from the dead. Puts special makeup on them to fool unsuspecting audience members! All to bring life back to the Saga prefecture. Add another layer to the WTF cake, these dead girls are all from different times including 2008, 1997, the showa period in the 1980’s…you even have one from the freakin’ 19th century! But that’s not all! These girls end up becoming an idol group singing different kinds of genres. One episode they’re head-banging to metal rock and the next IT’S A FRIGGIN’ 8 MILE RAP-BATTLE! And then you have this one girl named Yamada Tae. She doesn’t speak and usually makes weird noises throughout the entire series, but we don’t care! We freakin’ love her! And even with the oddball girl, she’s not the craziest character on here. Who needs a Best Girl category when you know the best girl is just going to be the crazy dude in the shades!
I’m absolutely cereal on this! Kotaro Tatsumi STOLE this show for his own! With his crazy antics, constant shouting random phrases every five seconds, and eccentric behavior, this made for one of the most entertaining animes I’ve ever watched.
Tumblr media
Last Fandom of 2019: Pokemon: Sun & Moon/2019
I know I spent the greater part of Sun/Moon bashing several aspects of the series. But Sun/Moon was gradually getting better compared to its slow start. This year we’ve got some extreme character growth from some of Ash’s friends and even pokemon. I was amazed to watch episodes featuring Lana, Mallow, and even Sophocles growing. Lana up against Kyogre, Mallow’s thank you to her deceased mother, and Sophocles mastering Z-moves, all of these were great! Add to that, a Pokemon League that showed all of us up after 20 years of disbelief of Ash ever winning a competition. Where HE WON THE FUCKING COMPETITION! With the exception of one of the matches, this Pokemon League is definitely one for the history books for Ash. From his epic dog fight with Gladion, to the six-on-six with his mentor, to taking down a massive Ultra Beast, to taking on an island deity! All leading up to one of the most beautiful goodbyes and finale! Seriously, I screamed balls when I saw a pregnant Professor Burnet.
And my high continues with the new continuation of Pokemon 2019 (yeah, still the name). First of all, praise Arceus the animation has improved! Secondly, I am fully digging Ash and Gou traveling together. In answer to your question, yes I’m already shipping the hell out of them. Third, having these boys travel all around the pokemon world has given me so much hope in the world. The boys are going to be traveling the pokemon world revisitng old places including Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kalos. I know I was disappointed in Ash not soley traveling to Galar and having Pikachu wear a Sherlock Holmes hat, but this I can’t cast to the side.
Tumblr media
And yes, I support Ash x Gou like a beast!

AU no one asked for (SWSH)
Headcanons for a Ballet School!AU for Sword and Shield characters.
Because I can and no one will stop me MWA HA HA
Some bits may be ooc, I didn’t want this to be angst but fluff and wholesome material.
I hope you enjoy, and if so, please reblog and share the wholesomeness, or even add your own ideas ! ^^
Staff
- Chairman Rose is now Headmaster Rose of the Rose Ballet School. He always encourages the students to do their best in competition, but without hurting themselves. He wants his school to be recognized as the best in the world, but he cares. A lot.
- When Rose watches his students dance during competitions or do their annual ballet for friends and families at the school, he always ends up crying like a proud uncle/father.
- Teachers are: Opal and Magnolia, both former star ballerinas. They were rivals in their young days, but now they sip tea together whenever possible.
- Opal mostly takes care of the younger pupils, whilst Magnolia teaches the pas-de-deux to the older ones.
- Oleana is also a teacher. She’s the one who actually shows how to do the most difficult positions, and gives night lessons on demand for those who think they need more exercising.
- Kabu teaches the male dancers. He sometimes gives small speeches about how one must respect their partner and take care of them.
- He sounds almost too romantic for the boys and they’re all slightly flustered and awkward by the end of it every time.
- The four of them are strict but kind, each in their own ways.
- Melony is the one in charge of making the costumes. Once in a while, her son Gordie comes to help her.
- They do bicker about designs, but they always end up with beautiful garments for everyone.
- Milo takes care of everything happening in backstage, be it the decors, the lights, the music, everything.
- The staff members helping him are a mix of Yell grunts and League staff. They’re like a little found-family of their own.
Older students
- Leon is the best dancer of the school. He is strong enough to hold his partners up in the air and his form and technique are top-tier, whether he dances adagio or allegro. Thus, he more than often gets the main role.
- His rival in the allegro is Raihan. He’s the best at holding his partners, but his solo movements are far more dynamic, almost brute-ish.
- He loves doing the bad guy’s part, though, so he doesn’t mind his rivalry with Leon.
- Surprisingly enough, Piers is also a great dancer. Although he can’t hold his partner up for much time, his body is very flexible and he’s the best at doing cambrés. He prefers the slow adagios over anything.
- Need someone for a sad, nostalgic solo? Leave it to him.
- But don’t tell Piers he’s got fans besides his younger sister. He would blue-screen.
- Nessa and Sonia are best friends. They applied together at the school years ago when they were still kids.
- They both dance beautifully, but Nessa is more of a solo dancer whereas Sonia loves doing pas-de-deux with anyone.
Younger students
- Hop and Bede are rivals, obviously.
- Hop wants to be as great as his big bro, but he’s scared he’ll never be good enough when doing pas-de-deux.
- Leon keeps encouraging him and saying he sees improvement in his form and technique each time he sees Hop dance.
- Bede having the “prince charming flare” (Opal’s words) doesn’t help Hop with his self-confidence, though.
- But Bede isn’t perfect either, and he much rathers having the stage all to himself than having to share it with a partner.
- He loves being the flamboyant villain against prince Hop. But he won’t ever admit it.
- Marnie is talented. She’s graceful and calm, even when alone on stage.
- But ohh boii is she a nervous wreck when backstage.
- She doesn’t show it at all, but it just radiates from her. And it stops once the lights are on her.
- Piers is so proud.
- Allister and Bea are the youngest recruits.
- Bea needs to learn how to smile more when dancing, but she’s getting there.
- All the girls keep encouraging her and saying she already has a beautiful dance style of her own.
- Allister is so shy.
- Although he was able to warm up to everyone in the school, he just can’t stand the idea of dancing on stage with people watching him.
- Rose had the idea of giving him small roles who could use masks on stage. Hence why Allister often ends up being the villain’s right-hand man, who is either Bede or Raihan.
Gloria/Victor/Protag/OC/Reader
- Gloria and Victor would be part of the younger students, anyway.
- Any OC or self-insert could be part of either group, according to their age.
- You can work from there to make any ship interaction you wish to see.
Bonus (potential ship interactions, non-exhaustive list)
- Once or twice a month, the teachers get together with all of the students, and everyone spends the day training however and with whomever they want.
- Every staff member is also invited to watch, and also give ballet a try, just for fun and laughs.
- Sonia’s Yamper is running everywhere like the happiest puppy ever, being petted and getting scratches by absolutely everyone.
- These “special lessons” are also the best occasions to dance with your lowkey crush.
- If Hop has a crush on someone, you bet Leon will tease him about it. Even more so if he sees Hop and his crush dancing together.
- But if Leon has a crush, Hop will retaliate.
- Bede will be a tsundere to his crush. As will Marnie, potentially.
- Raihan and Milo are complimenting Piers in a corner. Piers is a blushing mess.
- If Pier’s crush comes then and compliments him in any way, about any thing, he will die.
- Raihan will totally ask his crush for a dance. A friendly dance between friends.
- Bede and Raihan start a rivalry over who’s the best villain.
- When they ask Allister, he just plays with his mask and says they’re both great and he admires them, because they’re so flamboyant on stage.
- Hence Bede getting slightly flustered and both kids getting bear-hugged by a proud and happy Raihan.
- Kabu and Oleana give a bonus lesson on the pas-de-deux with a demo. Everyone claps in genuine admiration at their expertise.
- Kabu then announces the special pas-de-deux lesson that will now occure.
- The young boys have to help the older girls reach as low as possible while doing one of the most iconic poses of the Nutcracker without falling. The young girls get lifted into the air by the older boys.
- Now imagine who gets flustered by doing the exercise with whom.
- I mean, obviously all of the kids are being kind of shy at this point, moreso if it’s their first time helping or being helped by the older students.
- But have an example with Postwickshipping : Hop is helping Sonia, when Gloria comes and says “I want to do that with Hop, too...” with a small pout. And Hop almost lets Sonia fall. Or he does. Whatever rocks your boat.
- Want an example with some Piers x Reader ? Alright ; Piers is lifting Marnie up, both smiling because yay, nice siblings interaction is nice, while you approach and look at them with a small smile. Piers lets Marnie down, cue to you sighing and then saying “You’re so lucky you have such a strong, kind and beautiful big brother, Marnie”. Marnie smirks, because she knows what you’re doing, but Piers... he just becomes red.
- After the annual show for friends and families, all of the school members gather and have a wholesome afterparty. Any participant who wishes to may come up with a little choreography (or any kind of performance) and show it to everyone.
- Nessa and Sonia do a pas-de-deux together, with a choreography based on the concept of Yin and Yang. It’s so beautiful you could cry.
- Piers and Marnie sing a peaceful song they wrote together. He also plays the acoustic guitar as accompaniment.
- Bede chants poetry on Opal’s request.
- Hop and Leon rap together. It may be a song specifically done to ask someone out.
- Who am I kidding. Any of the performances could be used to ask someone out.

Hop its totally my favorite character in the game, and best husbando; i don't care if other trainers said he is a lame rival, my cinnamon roll always help me and my team and SHUT UP.
I have to admit, was pretty fun Bede as a rival, is so tsundere and PINK
No matter if is the sword or the shield version, the music is AWESOME!!!!
Sobble is gonna be my started in these games forever, even when I reset my game to play it again, I still picked him because I love my baby lizard.

hmmm... alrighty... no worries I won’t stray far from my mission, just wanna give hop a lil more depth other than pure cinnamon roll I suppose. and this is a bit off-topic but before I got sucked into bederia I was originally searching for a fic where hop was secretly mad at the protag for ruining his dreams but I couldn’t find one... so I veered off to bede-related stuff since he’s a natural tsundere and angst magnet and got completely converted because so many ppl writing this ship are so fuckin talented wtf. maybe one day I will go ahead and fuck hop up just for funsies, but angst isn’t really where I shine, or at least I don’t think so

okay so that’s 1 vote for the first option and 2 votes for the second... that totally helps narrow it down, whew. first option’s softish and fits in pretty well with what I’ve already set up, so that’d be the easy route, I guess. also gloria could comfort hop and encourage him and bede could Hate That and/or get the wrong idea from it. lol. you know I’m gonna drag this shit out as long as possible.
second one might be more fun to do but tougher to pull off ‘cause I’d have to think a little harder about it. I feel like it’s been written before (and done better than I could do) so I’d have to find a way to make it satisfying/interesting in a sense that’s just a bit different. Regarding Sonia/Hop bonding I could totally see that working out, but I dunno, I’m not too invested in Sonia so she might only get mentioned 2nd hand or their interactions would be very brief. if I’m being totally honest here I have no idea how to write her lmao....... but I do like the idea!
ANYWAY thank u both that actually really helped me a lot!! hopefully I’ll have the chapter done by mid-march or earlier. been bouncing back and forth with the AU stuff since my focus is totally wack
