Had my first therapy today (actually it's not a classical type of therapy) and I have to fill various questionnaires to evaluate my anxiety, phobias, depression etc. And you know it's the "never" "rarely" "always" etc. types of situations and I can feel a disaster incoming.
I know you can't fail a mental health evaluation, I'm just saying that I'm going to fail at my own mental health evaluation lmao
cannot stand it when i see posts saying orym could/can only ever have concrete conversations about himself and his feelings with either dorian or ashton or that they're the only people that would understand what he's going through. asides from the Women Just Don't Get It-ness of it all, like:
I don't think people are clocking what's going on when these colleges and universities call police to a student protest.
These protests have been non-violent, centering community, education, culture, solidarity, and, of course, divestment. They are made up of the body these institutions are meant to serve, expressing concerns and issuing demands.
But, to those with power in a capitalist system, interrupting the flow of capital will always be seen as peak violence. The heads of these institutions and the politicians backing them, albeit headasses, are smart. They know some things:
One. When police show up to non-violent protests, everyone -- the cops, the protesters, bystanders, passersby -- gets agitated. Things get tense and physical violence is more likely.
Two. The police will kill you. Some of them really want to. We have seen, in living memory, police kill anti-war student protesters on campus.
It's a very generous assessment to say that these colleges and universities, these politicians, are merely willing to let these students be killed for protesting the war and interrupting the flow of funds.
(I wrote this yesterday and didn't post it 'cause I kind of just keep my thoughts in my drafts and interact with people elsewhere online, but after everything that has happened in that time, I think it needs to be said that these institutions are calling the police in because they know they will attack protesters. They are calling them in to violently, even lethally, snuff out this movement. They're called in to administer punishment, not peace.)
I've seen people be like downpour ruined how people see five pebbles and im gonna be honest if you were here for any number of years pre-downpour the fandom was always god-awful with the nuance in his character. thats not a downpour thing thats a fandom thing
I've been feeling a bit sad in the past few days, so I just rewatched my pictures and videos from my ritual in Nice last summer, especially as I'm planning concerts and festivals for the next one. I realized I never shared these pictures and videos on social media, only with my friends, so here they are if you want to feel nostalgic with me.
Despite arriving at the venue later than I had planned due to a little nap at the hostel and catching the wrong bus, I managed to secure a good spot in the 5th or 6th row next to the platform. Btw It was a surprise to me that there was even a platform in the center: I only realized it when Papa walked on it, and suddenly I found myself closer to him than I had expected lol
The strongest feelings I remember are:
Copia coming out with the thurible. I remember thinking it was unreal and I was just watching a giant video screen or something.
The vibrations of Respite on the Spitalfield’s violins in my chest. It wasn’t a favorite song of mine but after the show I totally reevaluated it.
Wasn’t Ciriced of course, but Papa looked at my direction a couple of times and I couldn’t do anything but smile like the little moron I am.
actually On Your Feet gave us two good things (well. three if you like Realize which I do). Kohane's "it's frustrating" line and the great crack fic idea of Vivid Bad Squad getting cancelled online for skipping school to yell at The Kotaki Taiga as he was about to go back to America.
Nightwing #100 was fun and a good celebration of Nightwing's history and progress. The Titans set up was really cool to see and I hope DC follows through with putting the Titans into the spotlight.
BUT
It can't be in the Nightwing series. I can't think of anything more damaging to The Titans as a team and to Nightwing himself than to have the entirety of the Titans crammed into a solo series.
This is why we have team series and solo series. People don't read Titan series for stories 98% focused on Grayson with every other Titans character relegated to a cameo support role. People don't read Nightwing for stories revolving around his Titans' leadership duties.
The best part about the Titans is that it's a diverse group of personalities and skillsets. Every character gets a chance to shine, every character has a distinct personality and goals. They aren't Dick Grayson's backup dancers or personal cheerleading squad. And Dick's book should be where he gets to just be himself doing stealth missions and clandestinely fighting assassins, without trying to be the perfect leader that's always got a plan.
I liked Nightwing #100 and I've liked the other times Titans characters have crossed over into the series. But this can't just be it. They have to have a Titans series. They have to.
Gonna go running tomorrow!!!! Gotta hype myself up because i know once my alarm goes off at 6am i will not be as excited anymore ((((: BUT I'LL GO RUNNING!!!!
referring to ur partner as a moot is so funnynsbsbxncn u guys need like moot friendship bracelets to solidify ur friendship<3 pals being pals !!
once a mutual always a mutual 🫶🏻💖✨
but seriously calling them a mutual sometimes carries the gravity and emotions of some things more than just referring to them as my partner. like if I say my partner it’s just kind of a “oh they miss their boyfriend” kinda deal but when it’s a mutual it carries that weight of a long distance online friendship-turned-more, that history of long-time admiration and obsession, the gravity of what it means for you to finally meet up and be able to exist near each other, even if only for a few days.
you know when you have a headcanon that like, you came up with because you thought it made sense but weren't that serious about nor really truly hc it
then as time goes on, you realise that oh, yeah no, that headcanon is there to stay. that is forever part of your thoughts
that's been me with the idea of Nigel being autistic
So after falling down the rabbit hole based on danny phantom in the DC verse, I decided to create some hcs based on Invincible (Mark Grayson) being in the verse.
The first time Mark lands in the DC verse, he lands in Gotham. Because of Gordon telling Bruce that something landed in Gotham, Bruce went out to check and found a kid with his suit torn to bits and blood covering him.
He is not so friendly to Mark while donning the cowl. Especially after Mark asked him who he was only for the young hero to call him lazy.
After getting called lazy, Bruce calls upon Superman, who immediately comes to Bruce’s side. Clark asks Bruce what he needs, only for Bruce to point at Mark. “Your job,” he says before leaving Invincible in Superman’s hands.
Superman is kind of confused, like “what should I do with this boy?” So he contacts Bruce only for Bruce to say “I don’t know. Not my problem.”
The first question out of Invincible’s mouth to this man who strangely reminds him of a nicer version of Omni-Man is “is he always like that?”
Superman is hesitant to answer, but when he eventually answers, his answer is affirmative. That causes Mark to just sit there with a look that screams “Makes sense.”
After checking the other hero for any injuries, Superman asks Mark his name.
“I’m Invincible.” “Is that your real alias?” “Uh, yes? Listen, Immortal was taken and I couldn’t think of anything else.” “Oh. Okay.”
After finding out Mark’s alias, Clark takes him back to Smallville, allowing Mark to stay with his parents for the time being and helps Mark train his powers.
He also meets the rest of the Justice League and the Teen Titans, working with both teams on various problems.
After Invincible gets used to living in Smallville and working with Superman, the Viltrumites back on Mark’s Earth are like “wait where is he?” Because one moment, Nolan’s offspring is on Earth and the next he isn’t.
Everyone kinda forgets about Mark’s existence only for Mark to come back much stronger than ever before. He uses the training he learned from Clark to help him with fights.
BONUS
After Mark becomes emperor of the Viltrum Empire, Mark had the Viltrumites help him build a portal to another dimension (using old tech from Angstrom Levy) “to see an old friend.” He takes Eve and their children with him through the portal, ending up back in Smallville where a much older Clark Kent resides with his wife, Lois Lane-Kent.
There is a gravestone marked with the names Martha and Jonathan Kent, on which Mark places some flowers as a thank you to them. Clark is the one to see Mark at the gravestone, suspicious at first at the stranger being at his parents’ grave. However, Clark’s suspicion changes to shock as the stranger turns, revealing that it’s Mark. In just a split second, the Viltrumite and the Kryptonian literally fly at each other and the unofficial father-son duo reunite with a bone-crushing hug.
He brings them inside, to which all the kids (mainly Conner and Jon) dogpile Mark. Clark is just happy to have Mark back with them, and he even dials up Bruce (who’s alive but officially retired as Batman) and the rest of the Justice League, letting them know excitedly that Mark is back. To say there is a tear-jerking reunion is an understatement.
in the midst
of all these summer homes
in winter
crowded together kissing close
one empty lot
and then another
like missing stairs like
this should feel like
some kind of a relief
and it just doesn't
and I can't tell you why
