Hi.
In light of the recent Supreme Court ruling... I want you to know that not all Christians are Republican (I'm not either main party tbh). Not all Christians want to discriminate and oppress people who are different. Whatever those "Christians" in politics are claiming to believe... the Jesus they follow is not my Jesus.
My Jesus loves all. My Jesus died for all knowing exactly what today was going to look like. My Jesus taught and did not hate. I have yet to see a political figure claim to be Christian and then proceed to act like one.
Even if I am not of the community nor someone who goes to pride events or makes pride posts, know that I want to be a safe place for you as a Christian. I'm not here to condemn you or hate you. I see your value because you were still made in the image of God and beautiful for it. I know a lot of believers throw terrible words and verses to combat how you live and that's not what I'm here to do. I am a friend who wants you to know that not all Christians are like these people in office. I'm sorry that they've created so much hate. It never should have come to this ever. I don't blame any one of you for avoiding people who label themselves as religious. Religious trauma is real and affects us all differently. I'm just so sorry that it seems to continue to hurt you because people don't know how to be kind. 💜

emily gwen, the creator of the sunset lesbian flag that we’ve come to commonly use, still continues to live in poverty.
multi-billion dollar companies have used their design and made profit from it, and yet they have not seen a cent for their creation.
i’ve been friends with emily for years, and i have not once seen them be financially stable the entire time. i’ve seen them homeless, unemployed, starving. right now, they need our help more than ever.
please consider donating to emily’s ko-fi, especially if you’ve used their design to create something and profited from it.

i dont like the idea that kids these days are doing their fandom rps with ai chatbots. that's how you're supposed to make lifelong friends as a weird really online teen.

So usually when an imaginary friend is a real thing in a story, it’s either a demon or a ghost or some supernatural boogeyman that probably wants to eat the kid they’ve befriended (Mama, a couple of the Paranormal Activity movies), or “imaginary friends” are just treated as a real thing in the setting, and if a child just thinks hard enough they can manifest a friend into existence (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Happy).
And somewhere in the middle is an area where the imaginary friend in question is real and they are supernatural, but they aren’t malevolent, and they aren’t entirely honest about what they are. Like maybe they’re a fairy or a god or some kind of boggle from mythology, but they just got caught by a six year old and they don’t have time to get into it, so they just go “…Yes. I’m your imaginary friend. We haven’t met. How do you do.” And then they stick around because they do love this kid, and if you’re a boggle from mythology in the modern day good food is really hard to come by.
And at some level. That’s what I think Hobbes is.

for anyone too young to know this: watching The Truman Show is a vastly different experience now, compared to how it was before youtube and social media influencers became normal
before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"
and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"

i love the artistic stylings of studio ghibli as much as anyone else does but im kind of sick of anything with like vivid environments and big blue skies being branded as ghibliesque. because its like. you know where else you can hypothetically find some vivid environments with big blue skies? my friend the great and wonderful outdoors are here for you
