AAAAAA im so so sorry i could have sworn i answered this but i guess i didnt??? i promise i didnt mean to leave this in the inbox this long on purpose i think i must have lost track of stuff </3 regardless, i hope you enjoy! admin must admit, asides from presents and the christmas tree, he doesnt do many holiday activities so... admin is underqualified for this but hes still gonna try! a lot of the character segments intertwine in this btw! like not in a "similar idea" thing but in a "they are actually overlapping and interacting with one another" way so !! side note unrelated to the post eheheheh the second batch of macarons have been piped! theyre now on the counter set out to dry, and ive got my ganaches out to get to room temperature so i can whip em up into a frosting :3

CAINE:

oh i just know that caine would lean hard into holiday stuff, plus i think he has the best sense of time in the digital world out of everyone.. plus he just seems like the kind of guy to celebrate all sorts of holidays, not just christmas! year round stuff, you know? not just winter... so you guys would likely team up and totally deck out the grounds to match the holiday spirit! sure caine on his own already puts in way too much effort decorating everything, he even makes it snow! but with you around he cranks it up to 11! lets just hope there arent any scrooges around, though.... also prepare yourself because he would definitely find a way to have christmas music play on loop in the background... somewhere... ambient music but its festive songs... i think caine is also the one responsible for most of the presents, since he can basically get most things with just a flick of his wrist! ooooo perhaps a date (platonic or romantic! up to you!) where you guys wrap the gifts together!

POMNI:

funny enough, while i usually think pomni would SUCK at cooking, i think she can make a mean hot coco. granted, hot coco and/or hot chocolate arent the hardest things to make, but... i dont know, its just different when she makes it... (recommendation from the admin, add a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg to your hot coco its a game changer frfr, this goes for a lot of chocolate stuff, actually. its like the chocolate-coffee effect but like. makes a different flavor profile. add a bit of nutmeg to your chocolate chip goodies. rn.)

anyways! pomni always keeps you supplied with hot coco, and honestly it benefits you both! keeps you nice and warm, plus its delicious; and it gives pomni something to do... i mean, its christmas... surely she can take it easy from trying to find the exit... just for the season... helps with her anxiety about the whole situation, you know? making digital food sure is weird, though...

RAGATHA:

as mentioned in gangles part, she joins you and gangle in helping making a skirt for the tree! keeping up with the idea of sewing things, i think she would also make stockings for everyone; leaving most of them blank so everyone can customize them however they like... but you and her get together to decorate your own together and just !! i just think thats sweet! depending on how soon caine starts putting the christmas stuff around, you and her might be able to make some ugly sweaters for yourselves! thats a christmas thing, right? oooo and they match.... OOOO YOU GUYS MAKE AN EXTRA LONG SCARF FOR YOU GUYS TO SHARE!!!! rolls around... she makes you mittens so you can go mess around in the snow caine put all over the grounds

JAX:

snowball fight. and i mean really intense once. in fact it wouldnt be too much of a stress to call it a snowball WAR! honestly jax might just be the type to put rocks in his snowballs.... but because this is meant to be nice and sweet, he wont... just this once, and because he feels TOO mean crushing your holiday spirit (even if your digital body would quickly recover from the possible injury...)

you guys make forts and go absolutely ham. the stuff ragatha had made for the two of you! i mean sure you guys cant succumb to hypothermia, buuuuuuuuuut being really painfully cold still sucks... but the sweaters help you guys stay out for longer to play! and you can perhaps ask pomni to make some hot coco

ooo perhaps you convince jax to make snow angels and snowmen with you... though, i think jax would make the snowmen purposefully unappealing... but maybe you think hes actually trying his best... oh you jolly little thing..

KINGER:

okay so i admit this one might be a stretch and its mostly because his robe already has the fur and he gives off grandpa energy (even though hes only 48 but hey some grandpas become grandpas young) but imagine somehow someway he dresses up as santa (and i say that loosely, his robe turns red and the fur turns a plain white), bonus if he wears a hat to tie in the entire look. while caine is the one getting the gifts and wrapping them, i like to think kinger would ask to be the one to put them under the tree at an ungodly hour. sweet man. chews

as for an interaction with the reader... hmm.. hes the last character im writing, everyone else already has their parts done... the one christmas activity i can think of that hasnt been taken yet is baking! honestly i can see him being a decent chef! maybe its the dad/granddad energy speaking to me again... perhaps its the admin projecting... buuuut imagine you two make shaped cookies togehter; stars, candy canes, trees, bells, ect... and you ice them together! sure they may not be the prettiest or look the most professional; but does that really matter when youre having fun? they still taste delicious!

ZOOBLE:

ok i get it, i tend to lean hard into the zooble being negative and/or unimpressed with things a liiiiiiiiittle too often, but again zooble doesnt strike me as the type to enjoy most holidays. they seem more of a halloween person to me, you know? though, i think that they would switch out their antennae for ones that resemble antlers more... or if they dont have those, they string lights up on them! all for you, just because they know how excited the holiday makes you. they dont care about many things, but they care about you... and if it means doing (harmless) things they normally wouldnt do, then so be it! dont expect them to get in on many holiday activities, though...

GANGLE:

you and her make decorations for the grounds and the giant digital tree caine put in the main common area! handmade ornaments, paper stars and snowflakes, things like that! you and gangle stay up take cutting each thing, applying the colors and the glitter and any small details.... dozens of times.... because caine chose a tree that was way too big than it needed to be.... oh you might have to have gangle on your shoulders so she can reach the higher points of the tree! sits and thinks.... ooouuuuuuuuugh you guys make a skirt for the tree together with the help of ragatha... little group activity... sobs...

im bored so heres a list of 3ds games i like that you should download if you have hshop

-Parascientific Escape Trilogy: basically a mix of puzzle, mystery and visual novel. the games involve a lot of psychic and ESP themes (hence, parascientific) so if yer interested in like telekinesis and whatever i recommend it. also theres a scene in the 1st game where one of the characters straight up tells the protag “im gonna call the police” in the most polite and kind way possible and its great

-Legend of Dark Witch Trilogy: a sidescrolling platformer thats basically just megaman but with anime girls. the game is in a retro sprite style that looks awesome and the music is a banger, however its uh. very hard. even on easy. you might have to replay the levels a lot but as long as you remember to level up your stats youll be fine. besides getting a game over doesnt wipe yer progress or anything. if yer a fan of megaman you should get it cause its like a spiritual successor (like how yooka-laylee is inspired by banjo-kazooie and pizza tower is inspired by wario land)

-Pocket Card Jockey: i don’t really like card games but i still really like this one. mainly its bc its funny as hell. like in the very beginning your character straight up dies via getting trampled by horses. anyway, the game is essentially solitaire mixed with horse racing. if you go in not knowing how to play solitaire (like i did) you may find it a little hard but its still really fun regardless. the game’s artstyle is also just really nice to look at bc it makes everyone look... idk, toyish? playmobile? i wouldnt say its chibi but its close. anyway if you like comedy and puzzle games please play this game its great

-Tomodachi Life: this game is like if nintendo made their own version of the sims. basically, you run an island populated by the miis you create and you have to solve their problems. it can get a bit repetitive but never completely stale as a lot of wild things can happen. for example, on one of my playthroughs chikorita from pokemon and dedede from kirby married and had like 3 kids. like in any other situation the concept would be cursed but here its so ridiculous that its good. also, like pocket card jockey, there’s a lot of comedy aspects. this is probably the most iconic game out of the ones im listing here, so if you like life sims and memes, this is the game for you!

-Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido: yeah, most of the games im suggesting have stupid premises that are executed surprisingly well. in a world where fish doesn’t exist, literal freaking GODS make sushi. of course, nobody has tried seafood in this universe, so an ongoing war is happening over it. your job as the protag is to make sure everyone is able to get sushi without risking their life for it. yeah, sounds dumb, but the battle system for defeating enemies is really satisfying, as you link together pieces of sushi and yeet the empty plates at yer opponent. if crack taken seriously is yer thing, you should get it!

oh this ones actually tough bc i dont know, i think all of it is important to varying degrees. but personally a lot of my writing is focused on the characters and getting down a specfic vibe or feeling. or in the case of fics that i base on existing stories the plot is important in the sense that i want to make the story my own while not straying too far from the source if that makes sense

speaking of those sibling slideshows i mentioned, for some reason tiktok has filtered them out so when u look them up, they dont show up??? you just kinda get them on ur fyp one day. or atleast thats what happens to me. but if u look up sibling webweaving here on tumblr, ohhh boy. its basically an amalgamation of different types of media be it poetry, song lyrics, shows and movies, and book excrepts all packaged as one that pertain to a theme. my fav is those about mothers and siblings, so unequivocally human. its like walking down a museum tbh.

and agh, i loved your thoughts on the demon bros sibling dynamics. plus yeahhh, its kinda hard to take anything seriously since it is an otome game, BUT who says u cant come up with your interpretations and thoughts? whos gonna stop you? anyway, each brother has a level of depth that is screaming to be fleshed out, but its all very surface level on game. belphegors burdening shame and regret from watching lilith die in front of him, and by extension beelzebub having the same feelings and/or his own guilt. (i remember belph talking about his trauma and the immersion immediately breaks off when an option pops up on the scream, "ask him to kiss you." LIKE. place and time!) asmodeus and lucifer, their entire relationship T_T speaking of which, satan and lucifer?! they're brothers, or say they are and the rest just kinda go with it. but does no one else wanna bring up how satan was even brought to existence? he was literally birthed from luci's wrath during the celestial war. thats like, a gateway for someone to write a long philosophical analysis about him and what it symbolizes. aghhudhwdhwhd i wish i could say more, but i'm literally out of words rn. if i was mc, i'd have to fight everyday to keep it together without breaking down and crying about this. espeically having to live under the same roof as them...ooofff

speaking of complex siblings dynamics, have you see succession? its a show on hbo. its about an ultra rich and powerful family that is ultimately, dysfunctional. theres four siblings and their relationship mean sooo much to me. i wont drop any spoilers just in case you dont know anything, but when i say dysfunctional i meant it!! one of the things i like about this show is that it doesnt have any flashbacks or show the backstories for most of the characters, rather they kinda drop pieces of information randomly and you just go ??? that happened ??? youd think it wouldnt be a good storytelling strategy bc how are you going to emotionally connect the story to your audience? but somehow, the show does it really well. for example, one of the brothers, roman, was heavily abused. and sometimes one of his siblings would go, "yeah i remember when dad used to heavily beat the fuck out of you" offhandedly, like its a cute little fun fact. and youre sitting there like....when did THAT happen??? ofc they wouldnt show it, but if you watch how roman and his father interact on show (roman is so submissive and scared next to his father) it starts to make sense. its like the "show dont tell" but they switch around to "tell and show." subtle interactions like that fully exposes a characters psychology. subtle body language goes a long way. theres also the eldest brother connor, whos seen as the father figure bc their real dad is so neglectful. but tbh connot gets shit on a lot and uuyfuefehfe theres more. i would talk about this all day. sibling angst got me on a chokehold.

Oh man, so I did a search for sibling webweaving and I was like woah what is all this lol. I had no idea there was a term for stuff like this, but I'm fascinated! I must not be getting the TikTok videos... admittedly my use of that platform is limited lol.

The thing about the otome game not delving into things means that we all get to speculate and come up with whatever we want. It's a blessing and a curse lol. On the one hand, I like being able to come up with my own interpretations. But on the other hand, it'd be nice to have just a little more depth that what we have.

I have thoughts about Belphie and specifically what happened in the OG with him. That was definitely a situation of, there is so much more going on here than they're bothering to get into. I also get that they can't really do a ton of that, partly due to the medium and partly due to the amount of characters they have to deal with. Like I think they can only choose to flesh out certain characters and the rest kind of end up on the back burner. Which is annoying because there's so much potential for so many amazing stories!

I also have a lot of thoughts about Satan and his relationship to Lucifer and everybody. It's like they give us just enough to make the story dramatic, but in the end everybody loves each other and so on and so forth. I'm not saying both Satan and Belphie shouldn't be able to reconcile what happened to them and move on, but it just happens so fast. It seems too easy. So I kind of headcanon it as, they hide everything. Not just those two, but all the brothers have a certain level of trauma that they just bury deep or at the very least don't display in front of MC. I know they make MC out to be the demon therapist, but nobody resolves their issues in one session and that's all they're normally limited to. But of course they don't have time to get into things that deeply in a mobile otome game lol.

I have not seen Succession! It sounds pretty intense. I think it's always interesting when media use different techniques to tell their story. Of course I have very little knowledge of how TV scripts are written, but for story writing, the way a character reacts can imply all kinds of past history, even if you don't know exactly what happened. Flashbacks are helpful, but I think it's interesting to have a bit of a mix. A character is always going to tell the story of their past a little differently than how it actually happened. And I find that it can reveal a lot about character just to see what they change or leave out when telling it. Of course, who they're speaking to can affect that as well. But it's definitely an interesting concept!

𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐒? : okay so both definitely have their time to shine! sometimes i get in my own head about answering memes but i'm trying to put less pressure on myself when it comes to things like length of a meme response etc. i do love a meme, and am always happy to send memes to my mutuals bc i love u all so much, but plots have my heart. i love love love plotting with my partners and gushing back and forth about ideas and relationships (shippy ones and platonic/familial ones! literally gimme it all). and a lot of times if we've plotted something in the past, it helps me answer memes too. not that my memes always go directly with the plots we've discussed, but plotting gives me an idea about what we both want from a dynamic and how our characters vibe and i think it gives me a lot more to play off of, if that makes sense! basically it's not that i like to write plotted things more than i like to answer memes, it's just i like to plot in general and for me it helps with both.

I probably cry more than she does though while doing it lol i cry easily when i'm frustrated.

＞ Trey Clover ― Trey is a creative person himself and does care about your future interests, and he's also very open to a preschool teacher husband! He's very supportive and you probably met at Night Raven, or sometime after at a public gathering Rook had randomly invited him to...

Trey is very good with kids and is quite doting on anyone (in general) younger than himself that isn't an adult. He's going to be a dentist and a baker on the side in the near future, and he's also a willing partner to start a talk about being a househusband with. You have a job now and you'll have finances saved up, so he's also willing to talk about finances as a whole.

Is quite artistic himself and will understand if you have a room, or a very important space, dedicated to painting or painting business. He has the kitchen and he has very expensive bakery style equipment, so he will be equally delicate with anything of yours you have around. He also can understand poems (as long as you don't pull a Rook on him), and might read some of your stories if they interest him based on genre!

Love language with gifts (especially food) is shared between you, and that only makes his protectiveness against cavities and blistered mouths worse! He can't complain after he eats whatever you make him, but he does get a bit huffy at night when brushing. But he doesn't stop it unless it's getting too much for him, and that'll be a bit. He works out, so the calories aren't much worry! 

Trey's temper is more natural than the other's in the cast, but he's much more underhanded than you think. Trey's anger is very much him boiling on low heat until the time to strike at the offending party alone (with you not around unless you're a part of the plan) happens. He's not going to lose his head in front of anyone, as he's sadly a people pleaser if there's more than one person watching. He's very, very grateful you're the upfront one with being angry as he's more likely to back you up then take the lead! And you being a capybara basically all the other times? He's thankfully, very thankful. Because you're almost exactly two peas in a domestic pod! 

Trey is very much glad to have you as a partner and might even ask for some embroidery tips, as he knows how to sew (with or without magic) and wants to be helpful to you just in case he or you have anything broken. And speaking of broken… 

Your Best-Friend Would Be :

＞ Jade Leech ― Is the main reason Trey wanted to learn how to embroidery, as Jade also knows embroidery and can do many things with clothes and designs. Jade is your family friend from Trey's side that shows up to help or… escape from his own life.

Jade is very good with his hands and is very good at homemaking himself, so if he visits he will help you with any choirs you have on instinct. He's, of course, always wearing gloves except when he's doing dishes so anything he cleans is almost immaculate. If you don't need his help, you'll just have to say it, as he's only here to help! 

Is a cooker as well (we have a load of good cookers here) and does enjoy your more savory or seafood based foods: and normally turns down sweets unless he knows Floyd or Azul might like it. If Trey is alone with Jade, Jade helps him cook as well and makes creepy remarks like usual based on the ingredients. He's less likely to do this with you, because Trey asked him to tone it down. Later in your relationship, he becomes more open about his more strange habits.

Personally invites you and Trey to Monstro Lounge, so there is a high chance you'll meet Azul and Floyd at least sometime in the future! At least you get to see his profession and how he handles… rowdy types. He's a bit of an enigma with what aesthetic he wants to show each day: so be warned of that. Your never in danger though, because Trey just sighs and laughs at Jade's antics: don't take Jade too seriously. 

He doesn't care about your profession much and doesn't ask about kids or why you're making lesson plans when he visits, but he does care about how you express anger. Late in the relationship, Jade will prod and circle you when someone at Monstro Lounge/in a public outing makes you upset, and does see what Trey saw in you. You're both very ying-yang, he notices… interesting. He likes it.

Overall: he's that family friend that comes in your backdoor and you wonder how he got in, but never really question him.

ok here's my day 1 review of engage. i just finished chapter 6 and did all the paralogues/side maps to chapter 7.

the first thing i noticed was the graphics. i don't normally care much about graphics, but in this game they are noticeable bc they are so good! like even better than xenoblade 3. i didn't think the switch was capable of such graphics.

the art style is still... Like That though. i am still not a fan of it, even after playing the game nearly all day. there are times when i am internally cringing bc the child character's eyes are the size of baseballs. speaking of child characters, there's a LOT of them. i am not a big fan of child characters so they're all getting benched in my playthrough. one also has a fake british accent.

no shade to anyone reading this who DOES like the art style! it's just a personal preference of mine, we all have our own preferences of what looks good and what doesn't.

anyway. i've gotten a few c supports by now and they are all pretty meh. very short and not much depth to them compared to previous installments of FE (i don't just mean 3h i mean fates, awakening, etc). i know i technically can't judge them by just c supports so i'm reserving some judgement until i get up to A supports.

the story is cheesy. not unpleasantly so, but at least in the first few chapters it wasn't very riveting. i'm hoping it gets more interesting soon. rn i'm more invested in meeting new characters than i am in the story. the story feels almost like a background thing to me. there's nothing inherently WRONG with the story, it's just more chill than other FE games. kind of like awakening but without the time travel stuff, and more relaxed (at least in the first 7 chapters)

now onto the game play- it's pretty good! the weapon triangle makes things interesting, as do the rings. the rings are actually pretty fun to use and can make characters more interesting to use. like one gives any character the ability to use healing spells, which is great bc otherwise all the healers are children units and i'm not a big fan of the healing brawler class so i just give the healer ring to a regular unit instead.

there are also side battles that are much akin to FEH battles. there is a tempest trials (it's literally called that) that i haven't unlocked yet but from the description it's basically just like feh. they also have a version of aether raids.

speaking of side battles, there are only occasional auxiliary battles. kind of like awakening, some of the monster dudes spawn on previous maps. which reminds me of something else i should mention - there's a map again, like awakening. you travel across it for different chapters.

oh also! class promotion is like fates/awakening again. level up to 10, then gain a master class and start at level 1 again. personally i kind of preferred the 3h way where anyone could be any class (even if they sucked at it) but whatever i think this is fine too.

that's basically my first impression of things! if you have any specific questions feel free to ask me, i'm happy to tell you anything about it so far.

woah, thanks for the extensive review! it's pretty interesting you mention the graphics, bc i didn't think the game looked good at all in the trailers - very blandly rendered overall. im not expecting botw here bc it's fire emblem, but it all felt pretty lifeless to me. maybe it's different in the game itself though?

also not the child characters... that is a bummer, i don't like them either. i guess it's going to be an exercise of choosing the few that really add something important to your gameplay and aren't too annoying, and benching everyone else lmfao.

as far as the story and supports go, i already thought they were going to be less than stellar after the first few trailers came out, and then that belief was more or less confirmed by the leak. unfortunate that it does turn out to hold true so far. it'd be great if the supports get better higher up the chain and the story picks itself up a little, but im not holding out too much hope tbh. knowing me im probably going to be irritated by their flimsiness, especially by the narrative itself if it doesn't really go anywhere interesting. a bit of cheese can be fun, but too cheesy stories often just feel too childish for me to enjoy. and idk. never great if a story doesn't really feel like the centre of the game as you're experiencing it in this case. hopefully that'll change?

good to know the gameplay is pretty fun at least! that was the one thing from the trailers that i thought looked engaging (lmfao). if im buying the game that's what ill be buying it for

i thiiink i have a license for clip studio paint that came with my old wacom tablet but i never rly used it. also used to have krita installed for the longest time but just always felt off to me idk why. don't currently have it installed anymore tho

to their right is a bit easier i think. not smth i consciously notice, mostly i'm just thinking abt when im doodling on the margins of stuff they usually are looking to the left of the page

Attention. I remember seeing my sister show my mom her poetry when I was like 12 or 13? And got jealous bc ah....I was kinda forgotten bc of family issues and was left to myself a lot so I thought if I wrote I would get attention. (I wasn't neglected but my sister was super rebellious and my younger brother is special needs so they just took priority I understand that now.)

And it ended up becoming a release for emotions during my teenage years when my depression and anxiety began showing itself. Which did get me the attention I craved at first but didn't want since my poems were very edgy and emo and made ppl worry to which my mom said "I don't wanna read your writing anymore." Which I get now bc it was depressing but that kinda lead to me hiding my writing. So the only ppl that see it now is internet ppl lol and I don't write poetry anymore anyway.

Which again started writing fanfic around 17 bc it looked fun and again I wanted attention.

Tl;Dr I crave attention and validation.

I like the hc that Edelgard has scars all over her body from the experimentations.

I also like the HC that saints (sans Flayn) are directly born from Sothis like Rhea is confirmed to be. instead of born from her other children. So basically Rhea has 4 older brothers. I think it makes the dynamic interesting especially with how Macuile and Indeach checked out and Seteth was isolated with sleeping!Flayn until pretty recently. Which left Rhea to her own devices for a long time.

I read a theory about Sothis being an alien? And that was pretty interesting.

Idk if it's a HC but I like the idea that Seteth has always been kinda overprotective its just the ramped up to a million after the war and losing his wife and almost Flayn.

I also HC that Flayn is pretty protective of Seteth also despite being annoyed with his protectiveness lol. Like she pretty much saw her mother die. She's just better at keeping it in control.

I also like the HC that probably outside CF that Byleth is able to collect all the relics and put them in the holy tomb.

I also hc in CF that Byleth experiences a lot of mixed emotions after losing her divinity, since it was her last connection to Sothis, she mourns even if none of her students are able to sympathize or understand.

im so sorry this took a while things been all over the place on my end, this is going to be very all over the place but anyway

17. talk to me about the minutiae of your current wip. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

uhh so i got several wips that are v much on a break but I started reworking an old arcana self insert fic of mine from 2019 cos tbh the writing is ass and I can make it sound a lot better now idk how that bitch has so many kudos on it, its not good!!

the plot is basically that the MC (reader) has chronic joint pain in the winter when its cold and Julian helps to look after them. The inspiration was that i have chronic joint pain that's way worse when its cold and i wrote it as a comfort thing lol. its still up rn in its original state but will be updated soon hopefully

my other main wip is my dmmd fic that i worked on p much all of last year but now i have burnout so im taking a break rip.

its kinda a re-write of the reconnect game but with more characters and set in my own universe but i think once i get over the bump of the main story line its gonna be more slice of life/ romance focused as a change of pace to the first half. Unlike the reconnect game i also focus on other characters that arent the main character's love interest because if i was a reader i'd wanna know what everyone else is up to post canon. It basically feels like a sandbox for me to write my character head canons lol.

22. how organized are you with your writing? describe to me your organization method, if it exists. what tools do you use? notebooks? binders? apps?

everything is in google docs, i have notes pages and a loose colour coding system going with how I edit things e.g green= published, orange= needs work/ to be changed, purple= notes about canon/ in fic lore.

Sometimes if i feel my work is getting cluttered i'll move it to a separate doc so i end up with about 3 documents that are different editing stages of the same chapter.

Theres also a "cutting room floor" doc where i put stuff that didnt make the final cut in case i wanna refer to it later and its not lost to the back space button.

34. thoughts on the oxford comma, go:

first wish is to know how characters feel in response to whatever is happening to them, my biggest thing rn is being unable to put myself in their shoes and i think it would help a lot.

second is to consistently remember HOW to write well, cos i have bursts of knowing wtf im talking about but will suddenly lose it even if im in the middle of a work

third is knowing the exact word or phrase to describe scenery, emotions and facial expressions. I struggle with those the most for some reason.

okay if we're going by characters im constantly returning to: ella from ella enchanted (book and movie) (yes i had a crush on anne hathaway growing up,, and now.) alex from red, white, and royal blue (ive read that book at least 10 times since i first read it in 2021). and Jane from A Horse of Her Own by Annie Wedekind (childhood classic for me, a great horse girl book (idk anything about horses))

8. how many water bottles are in your room right now?

AHA IM SAFE! just the one. tbh it helps to keep my room clean(ish) that i don't have any furniture other than an air mattress rn. i do have a ton of clothing piles tho haha

41. how do you take your coffee?

the less it tastes like coffee the better. i have a moka pot and that makes coffee that's basically espresso, so i drink something that's got the proportions of a latte. with drip coffee, a lot of creamer. also im a big fan of flavored syrups! apologies to any coffee snobs out there lol

hello lovely !! it’s not a bother at all, i’m honoured you asked me! :) personally, i think the game does a good job of explaining the lore and letting you learn the character lore at your own pace since you unlock more lore as your friendship levels with characters go up !! i would def recommend becoming acquainted with the wiki just because there is sooo much lore and i find that sometimes it gets a little hard to read in game because the text is a bit small!! the wiki is just genshin wiki, it has lots and lots of info so dw about knowing anything before getting into the game !! personally i think going into the game with no knowledge is nice!! i didn’t do any research and i just let the game make me fall in love !!

i think the most important thing you need to know is that the game is a gacha which is essentially gambling. the game is designed to entice you until spending for your favourite limited characters though you can go a long way with the free to play characters !! the pity system is a bit tricky and honestly and i can explain it if you like !! but there are lots of explanations, im not home rn otherwise i would link you some !!

there is sooo much i could say about genshin hehe but i think aside from these two things the only other important thing to know is that it’s a puzzle based game !! there’s long of puzzles + an open world to explore and truly there is so much to do that you will never get bored of it. i could def elaborate further if you have any specific questions but i hope you enjoy and i hope this was helpful in some way :)

Sober hella, in your opinion, what is the best time/way to kill off a character? Basically like how to not pull a banana fish and just kill characters for the sake of a dramatic ending lmfao

omg hi i also saw this when i was drunk and immediately forgot id seen it but now i vividly remember being like 'hehe im gonna answer it just bc you told me not to' and then some smart part of me was like 'hella NO' and i put my phone down. anyway here goes:

so i think i have a very biased opinion bc my viewpoint on this subject as a reader is very 'please dont kill characters that i like please god no' and it tends to reflect in my writing, but having said that, as a writer i do understand that not only is it necessary but sometimes it just DOES spice things up? and that's okay! it's literally totally okay if you look at a character and go 'i am literally only killing you because it makes things interesting'. you dont need some in depth bullshit reason behind everything you do. like me and @rotisserie5107 were saying the other day, sometimes sexiness is the only justification you need with writing. and no that's not a sexual thing i just mean genuinely making choices that are fun/aesthetically pleasing/etc. there's a real narrative with fiction atm that EVERY choice a writer makes has to have a genius explanation behind it and if a scene/dialogue/character doesn't further the plot then you need to axe them from the story, but i personally think it's bollocks.

what im trying to get at is that things like this are less 'when to kill a character' and more 'when to think twice', which thankfully narrows things down quite a lot. whatever you're thinking rn for the poor sod in question, id honestly say trust your gut. you are a writer and this is a person you have plucked from your brain. you are the only person who can be trusted with them. the ONLY time you should think twice is when it starts getting a little too... real. if their death symbolises something in a bad way, if they're the only minority character, or even something like if you just have a LOT of character death. i watched game of thrones in its entirety and for the hundreds of characters that died i cant think of a single one i actually felt upset about, bc it just got so ingrained into me that that's just What This Show Did and if readers know there's a lot of character death, they get very very apathetic to it.

so anyway sticking with the example of banana fish bc i think i may have mentioned once or twice how i feel about that show <3 (bf spoilers ahead):

ash was a victim of extreme sexual trauma starting in childhood. he was exploited by your typical rich white men. he was a child. his narrative was angled in a way that made him seem like he was going to get a happy ending just for it to be cruelly snatched away in the last 10 mins for the sake of shock alone. these are all factors that make his death grotesque. now this is all personal opinion bc there's a LOT of debate in the fandom about this, but ive made it very clear that i genuinely dont think there's any justification behind killing him off. 'it was foreshadowed' 'death was an escape' etc are all really fickle defences to me, because at the end of the day, what the author wound up saying is that people who can see their own traumas in ash are incapable of healing and shouldnt even bother, and that suicide (bc we all know he could have called an ambulance) is not only a good choice but quite possibly their only choice.

HOWEVER, as much as i hate it, if yoshida was so hellbent on killing ash off, there are ways i think she could have done it better. the shock element, for example. i dont think it's an inherently bad writing tool - hell ive done it myself a couple times - but killing the MAIN CHARACTER of the show in the last 10 minutes made it seem really thrown together regardless of foreshadowing and just gratuitously cruel to ash. he did not get the time he deserved and the viewer is kind of just left sitting there. i know i personally didn't actually cry or anything when banana fish ended bc i was still so stunned by what the fuck i just witnessed. i think if he'd died the episode before or at the beginning of the episode and we got to see things pan out from there and just have it SETTLE a bit, it wouldnt be so disrespectful to ash. also, less to do with writing which is why i stressed earlier that the 'donts' are actually significantly fewer than the 'just go mentals': yoshida had a habit of saying really dodgy shit in interviews that made it clear that the defence many viewers used in favour of ash's death - that it made narrative sense and allowed him freedom he 'only could have achieved in death' yadda yadda; they try make out it's super artistic idc - is actually bullshit, bc yoshida has ADMITTED that she thinks ash is a bad person and that's why she killed him, bc he has also killed people and therefore DESERVES TO DIE. so this is more of a check your own mindset before you kill a character. if they're a villain then go for it, but if you're enforcing some personal vendetta on a victim that has some real honest trauma then just be careful. that comment is super harmful, bc her 'this criminal deserves to die' blanket statement translates to 'this seventeen year old who has suffered the most horrific abuse and has been forced to do terrible things to survive to the point he doesnt know anything else deserves the exact same fate as the old men who knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they abused him'. like. come on

basically, there's actually very few ways to kill a character BADLY. youve got to consider that the reader wont like it no matter what you do (again, unless it's a villain), and if they do then you're doing something wrong bc you WANT them to love this character, to grieve them, to be angry for them. but it's killing them in a way that is DISRESPECTFUL to that character that things go wrong, and what is disrespectful to certain characters isnt disrespectful to others. ash showed nothing but grit and a need to survive for 24 whole episodes. when he was stabbed, he was RUNNING TO EIJI IN ORDER TO GIVE LIFE ANOTHER CHANCE. he was healing, he was hopeful, and we're supposed to accept that he let himself succumb to the same fate as his abusers, and not only that, but that he 'deserved' it. it's disgusting and really detrimental to a lot of victims of sexual trauma that ive seen discussing this in the fandom, because it is INCREDIBLY disrespectful to their trauma and their healing. if you took a different character though and killed them in the exact same way, it could work, because like i said, disrespect is subjective.

so yeah, banana fish is very much an outlier i think. try not to stress about it, im sure you'll pull it off and ruin EVERYONE'S day by pulling off a beautifully tragic character death x
