barok is a high ranking member of society, due to his job as a prosecutor, as well as him being a son of the van ziek's family

you won't be able to match up to his status and you will often be seen as someone who's below him by other people

however, barok doesn't care about status. at least he doesn't when it comes to dating you!

he knows you're not dating him for money or reputation. and he'll defend you whenever someone talks ill about you!

on top of his status in society, barok also wears the title of the reaper. he's feared by most, yet you know that he would never hurt anyone!

but since you're the lover of the reaper of the bailey, you often find yourself dragged into trouble, when assassins attempt to take your life

barok tries to keep you safe by only letting you go outside while he's around you, but even then he can't always protect you

barok isn't very affectionate, since he hates to let people know how much he cares about you. if they knew, that would only put you in more danger…

so barok only shows you affection when the two of you are truly alone!

one of the reasons i adore barok van zieks as a character is that he would voluntarily get pulled into a child's tea party and take it deadly seriously. full manners and everything while perched on a stool way too small for him. addressing the stuffed animals like people. holding tiny cups and saucers in his big hands

Judith Leyster

(July 28, 1609 – February 10, 1660) was a Dutch painter of the Baroque period.

#OnThisDay - Judith Leyster was born on July 28th. In Haarlem, The Netherlands.

On Friday before the weekend, a painting suits her - The Concert was created around 1633.

She was a student of Frans Hals in Haarlem. In 1633, as the first woman, a master's title in the Haarlem guild of St. Luke. In 1636 he married Jan Miense Molenaer, a painter of genre scenes (ca. 1610-1668). It runs a shared studio, works with these similar models and props. She painted genre scenes, portraits and flowers. The Utrecht Caravaggists (Hendrick Terbrugghen, Gerrit van Honthorst) and Frans Hals had a great influence on her painting. The painting is in the National Museum of Women in the Arts Washington, United States.
