I choose to blindly believe that people who are like "it's very weird of Wyll to just show up and hang around the grove despite being infected and put people in danger" have not played more than an hour of bg because you cannot tell me you've played the game past act 1 and are still so loud and wrong.
First off, Wyll was likely not seeking out the grove or any kind of civilization. He was likely passing through and came across a similar scene as Tav, so a goblin attack. He likely jumped right in and helped, just like Tav does. He then learned of the plight of the grove just like Tav does and decided to help in whatever ways he was capable of in that moment JUST LIKE TAV CAN CHOOSE TO DO. You can literally choose to play Scooby Doo and solve the mysteries in the area, stop for a jam session, and generally just solve peoples squabbles and help them prepare for what's to come which is no different than what Wyll does.
"Well he didn't show up there that much earlier than Tav" you don't know that. If you have long rested at least once or twice, that puts a day or two separation between him winding up there and Tav finding him. The druids AND tieflings imply these attacks are frequent. "Well he chose to stay around people despite not knowing when he will turn" SO DOES TAV. Hell if you make certain choices regarding Shadowheart, so does she. Literally no one in that party knows when they will turn or that they won't until you reach a certain point and trigger the dream guardian.
"He could turn in an instant, he's doing it for the ego boost not cause he actually cares". I. Am. UNLOVINGLY. Slapping you across the face. Logistically the only people who know about "being changed at the pull of a lever" are Tav, Lae'zel, and maybe Shadowheart depending on how you deal with the cultists in the room where she's trapped. Wyll describes the process for ceremorphosis as taking several days, as does Gale, so he is weighing his options and likely considering that he will leave as soon as he feels himself turning and banking on the fact he will be able to hide it, since day one is fever and memory loss. He could also 100% be hoping that Mizora will be able to have some sort of hand in delaying or removing the tadpole though he's hoping he won't have to rely on that or ask something of the devil who literally preyed upon and entrapped him. But it's a decent bet to hedge and he likely hopes that he can somehow use his most recent hunt of Karlach as leverage in some way if it's successful or that he's at least hoping his usefulness to Mizora will see her exerting influence to keep him from being turned. Which would also explain his insistence on still going after Karlach even when the situation is so dire. It isn't duty, it's a chance at survival.
Trust and believe me when I say if you don't believe his brain is going a mile a minute considering his next move and putting intention behind his every choice, I have no hope for you. That lack of hope triples if you unironically hold these opinions about Wyll while sidelining getting rid of the tadpole to help everyone in the area.

- Writing Style: 3rd Person, past tense. I can get a little wordy and borderline purple prose, so it can be anywhere from 4-6 paras to a whole ass novel. I’m not concerned about my partner’s writing length as long as it’s a couple paragraphs and you give me something to work with. Two sentences and/or not helping move the plot along for several messages is where i draw the line, typically.
I’m also ghost friendly. I would absolutely prefer if you told me ‘hey, this isn’t working for me’ but I won’t chase you down or badmouth you for disappearing. Sometimes life happens, sometimes people don’t gel. I’m cool with that. I will also never bug you for a reply. I might drop a check in message if i haven’t heard from you in two or three days, and I will send ship art/dumb memes in the meanwhile, but we’re all adults and have lives. Rping is a hobby and that’s how I will always view it.

I was tagged by @optiwashere to share the last sentence of anything I've written. Because both of us are mavericks that play by no rules, I'm sharing an arbitrary slice of my current WIP from N to the end.
Tagging @mxsovereign, who is gonna kill me with hammers for tagging them into all these writing memes. Also tagging @synnthamonsugar, @seventhscorpio, and @linka-from-captain-planet. As always, don't feel obligated to do this.
Put on your hard hats, it's rough draft time. It's probably gonna be pared down, I have a very iterative process in which I write a ton and I delete whatever seems excessive, does not match a character's voice, or seems like saying the quiet part out loud. Then fill up what seems sparse, rewrite dialogue for voice purposes...
(Is it efficient? No. Does it work? I guess so.)
Spoilers for act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3 follow.
"I have not had an easy life. And yet I cannot imagine living some of the things your mother lived. It takes an unbreakable woman to claw her way up through life like Viconia did. I'm not judging her for finding solace in the shadow of lady Shar, if that's what worries you.
"I'm just angry on your behalf. Because you have only known loss and pain."
Nocturne mulls over her next words carefully. Jaheira thinks she's gonna parrot some scripture, something like "Hope is a lie and only loss endures", but what Nocturne says surprises her.
"That's not true. I had Shadowheart. We had each other." Nocturne fidgets with the ring, studying the glimmering elven gems intently. Hesitating to try it on. "Every time she poured her memories into the Mirror I lived for the hope she could remember something, anything, about us. I lost her countless times. I had her back that many times, but every time something was chipped away and lost forever." Nocturne leaves the ring back in its box, as if she just realized how priceless it is. "It was Shar's blessing." She shrugs and offers Jaheira a sad smile. "I'm just glad I got to be her friend. To meet her all those times."
"Shadowheart is lucky to have had you by her side." Jaheira squeezes Nocturne's hands, and the press of warm, rough hands on hers bring a lump of emotion to Nocturne's throat. She strokes the warm metal of Jaheira's wedding band with her thumb - on her right hand, Nocturne notices.
Before she even notices, she's crying.

I’m not concerned about my partner’s writing length as long as it’s a couple paragraphs and you give me something to work with. Two sentences and/or not helping move the plot along for several messages is where i draw the line, typically.
I’m also ghost friendly. I would absolutely prefer if you told me ‘hey, this isn’t working for me’ but I won’t chase you down or badmouth you for disappearing. Sometimes life happens, sometimes people don’t gel. I’m cool with that. I will also never bug you for a reply. I might drop a check in message if i haven’t heard from you in two or three days, and I will send ship art/dumb memes in the meanwhile, but we’re all adults and have lives. Rping is a hobby and that’s how I will always view it.

I am ULTRA, also go by Ren or Spectre. 28/Canadian/Any pronouns/WFH with busy days and slow days.
I by no means support anything Gortash has done and will under no circumstances defend his actions. I am willing and happy to discuss his character but if you come in with some kind of pro-sl*very/terrorism/ whatever awful thing he has done I will block you and move along.
2. Don't expect Gortash to apologize for being a bad person, it's not going to happen.
3. I love Tav, I love Durge, I love the idea of interacting with the companions, I just ask that you do not take responses personally-- I am trying to keep the character as best as I can and that may mean Gortash isn't nice.
4. I am not afraid of the block button and will not blame you if you block me, nor come looking for answers. I understand I am playing a controversial character not everyone is comfortable with.
5. I don't know everything in the lore since D&D is a cavern in of itself, please be patient if I get something wrong, I am doing all I can and there is so much to retain!
My threads have no time limit, if time limits are a thing for you, I don't think I am the right fit as a writing partner.
6. I am adding this as I am seeing a lot of these AU requests popping up: I will not take part in an AU that contains kink and/or fetish material-- dumbcon/noncon, degradation, power imbalances, etc.
7. I ask that replies to rp threads be coherent and spell-checked-- I will absolutely forgive disabilities, ESL or technical difficulties that affect your wording and sentence structure, I totally understand mistakes, but if you want me to answer I have to understand the writing and will not take kindly to people being defensive if I ask them for help understanding.
8. I ship solely based on chemistry -- MEANING, I will not jump into a pre-determined romantic or sexual relationship and opt out until we have been writing and talking ic and ooc for awhile. That being said, I am not a safe space for shippers of Gortash and Orin, Karlach or Raphael. This does extend to memes.
9. Karlach writers are allowed to come kick Gortash's ass within reason-- I want to be let in on any messages or plans.
10. You are always welcome to come and ask me to tag triggers if I do not have them tagged-- if there is an obvious trigger I do not have tagged within 1-5 minutes of posting, you can ask and I will oblige!!
