okay uhhh so i read like 12 arrangee marriage fic last week and i gotta say... obsessed w this trope rn. esp the period pieces. defibitrly love all the different takes. i think its rly sweet how many of the fics that were all "oh but your Consent matter to me uwu" "i thought i was going to marry for love even though Royal Politics exist" "lets wait weeks to consummate our marriage because youre a virgin and afraid" and like yes! this is lovely. i love it!

but gosh darn it i would also love some angsty tragic dubcon arranged marriage where they consumate on their wedding night and its not great and neither of them want to be there but theyre married and gotta prove it and maybe even a dash of 'the sooner we have an heir the sooner we can stop'

maybe even toss in a sprinkle of They Hate each other but their loyalty lies with their people so theyre sticking with it

and this horrible unpleasantness... slowly melts away as they fradually come to respect each other. until their annoying quirks become endearing charms. until one day, months or years into the marriage, they come to love each other.

He was fairly certain that was why she was here in the first place- then again, if he had learned anything over the time they had known each other, she was just as likely to just be being a little shit. He sipped at his coffee, lowered the cup. A bid to buy time. Not that it was a good one.

"Last I checked, the wedding is still set for just under a week from now." It was just another thing on top of his usual workload- which meant even more to worry about. Fucking politics. "Or did you have another point in asking that?"

Inside of the ballroom, people waited in silence. Respectful and hopeful as Queen Catelyn stood up, she gave a once over to the room with a smile. “My Lords and Ladies,” she began, voice firm and calm. “Today, I choose a consort. And I will do say, that I was spoiled for choice, however, after careful consideration, I have found the one who I believe will make the best consort and father of my children.”

A murmur rose through the crowd, many leaned forward as they waited.

Catelyn paid them no mind, “This man I choose is someone I believe I can trust,” she quickly rose her hands, stalling whatever objection that would come. “That is not to say, of course, that the rest of you are untrustworthy, simply that this man and some others were quietly subjected to some tests and he passed them flawlessly. And I am certain, that this man will not try and take my crown from my own head to place it in his. And with that, my choice is, Eddard Stark.”

As one, all turned to look at Lord Eddard, who did his best not to blush at the amount of attention he was getting. It was a surprise that Queen Catelyn had picked him, but he – who was nursing a crush on the Queen – felt grateful. He stepped forward, people parting as he passed them by, and once he stood in front of the Queen, he bowed. “You honor me, my Queen.” He said solemnly. “And I vow that I will do my best to be a good consort to you.”

Catelyn smiled and walked from the high seat where she was standing. “Of that I have no doubt, come, Lord Stark, take a seat next to me and let the feast commence.”

Eddard followed the Queen to the high table and he only sat after she had done so. He ate what was served and nodded towards every toast in his honor and for those of the Queen and he together. He felt a little out of place, but deep in his heart, he was glad. He turned to Queen Catelyn, “Why me?” He asked low, when everyone was not paying attention.

“I meant my words, Eddard.” Catelyn said, lips curling upwards. “And because in this time that I have had to know you, I have liked what I see. You are a good and honest man and I know that I can trust you. I cannot speak of love yet, but that will perhaps come down the road, I am not opposed to try and make this marriage a good one, if we find that we might not be compatible, then, perhaps at least we could be friends.”

Eddard could feel his heart thunder in his chest, “I would do my best to try, Majesty. I would like to be a good husband to you. We have time.”

“We do,” Catelyn agreed. “We are simply just starting.”

“We have time, indeed.”

At the very least maybe he and Namjoon can be friends like they used to be, an impossibly long time ago that Namjoon barely remembers.

Eve grabbed the other’s hand and pulled her out of her room. Nothing about her plans would go wrong. Everything would be fine.

“Are you sure this is going to be alright? Someone might notice we’re gone, Evie,” Sylvia said, watching the other from behind as she is dragged outside.

“Yes, the royals won’t miss us for a bit. They’re too busy glaring heated daggers at each other from across the room anyways.” Eve grimaced, shaking her head as they walked. Honestly. The tension between the two of them was absurd.

Once outside of the castle and into the outer halls along the sides, she let go of her hand and stepped behind her. Raising her hands, she pressed them onto Sylvia’s back and pushed her forward at a faster pace while laughing, “You’re so slow, Come on!” She then paused her words, considering. “You should chase me. It’ll be fun!”

Sylvia leaned back against her hands as she walked, looking over her shoulder to look at Eve. “You want me to chase you? Someone could see u-” She didn’t have time to finish her sentence before her friend shoved her forwards and took off running in front of her.

Eve laughed as she ran, almost stumbling a little as she checked behind herself to see if Sylvia was following, which she was. In fact, she was full sprinting in at her. Whipping her head back around to watch where she was going, she began sprinting down the hall.

She ran, hearing very clearly the sounds of someone chasing her. As they played their small game, they were coming up on her secret path to her spot. It would be a hard left, which left room to slip and fall since their shoes offered no traction right then.

There was no choice. Eve had to do it. Hitting the corner sharp, she scrambled a little, but got up quickly and returned to her sprint away from Sylvia. The other girl hit the corner even sharper, but she grabbed onto a limb so she swung around more easily without falling down. Eveline heard her laugh behind her, "You know I'm going to get you, Evie. It's inevitable, my dear."

"As if!" she called back, being sure to dodge outstanding limbs and roots in her path. Having to focus on the terrain, Eve laughed breathily as the lake came into view down the path. It was the final stretch. She pushed herself harder, to the point where she almost falls a few times as she runs. She can hear her friend behind her running harder as well, and what sounded like getting closer footsteps.

Thud.

Eve hit the ground hard just as she reached the bank of the lake, being tackled by her companion. She wheezed as she tried to catch her breath again. Sylvia was on top of her back, laughing as she laid there.

After a few minutes of this, Eve finally caught her breath enough to speak again. "Get off of me, you foul ginger demon," she said, moving to push Syl off.

The redhead just laughed more, but relented and rolled off of her into the textured ground of the lakeside pebbles. "You know that I'd get you. Why would you do that?" She questioned, looking over at her partner.

Eve grinned in response, pushing herself onto the backs of her hands. Looking down at her clothes, they were now very obviously dirtied and with a quick glance at Sylvia's, hers were exactly the same. Dirtied up. "Now we're going to have to change before we go back, Sylvie. Look at what you've done now."

She raised her hands in defense of herself and enunciated her accent more, "I did no such thing. I was provoked, miss. I'm innocent in this matter." As she spoke, she watched Eveline with careful eyes, as if painting her on a little portrait in their mind.

Eve hummed, looking at the other softly. Ginger hair she adored to run her hands through. Freckles every which way on her face that she wants to kiss each individually for days. Softly curved jaw that she loves.

The feelings she felt for her were strong, beating within her own heart. It felt like it might overwhelm her and her senses. It was a torrential downpour of a feeling so strong it could drown her from the inside out.

That wasn't the point though. She couldn't. Not again, anyways. They had already kissed once, when she was very in her right mind while under the influence. Then there was the time when they were both under the influence, but it was obvious both were fine with it.

They were beginning to toe the line in the sand between whatever they were. They were certainly more than friends, however it was even clearer that they weren't officially anything. A thought that bothered Eve quite honestly. *What were they?* She didn't know.

Slowly pushing herself off the ground and back upright on her feet, Eve brushed her hands off on her dirty skirt. She reached down and held her hand out for Sylvia, who took her offer and together they pulled her up.

Once up, they stared at each other for a few seconds, maybe a minute. Just looking at each other. Eventually, Eve smiled and looked away, over to where her little setup was.

Leading her by the hand once more, she took them over to her spot. Small canvases and paint all lay around in the area. She let go of Syl's hand and sat down on the cloth. After she gestured to a spot next to her, the other sat down gracefully.

"I couldn't find you your normal instrument, but I did find this lyre, which if I remember right you play. I hope you play-" she cuts herself off, as she just holds out the lyre in question to Sylvia.

Syl reached out and took it, looking it over. "This will work perfectly fine, Evie. Do not worry," she smiled at her friend and lightly played a small chord. She nodded, clearly satisfied with the quality of it.

Once Eve was sure that Syl would not mind the lyre, she picked up her own small canvas. Angling herself to face her, she took her brush and slowly began to paint the lake in front of her. Of her dearest plucking notes and chords, creating a wondrous melody at the tips of her fingers.

They remained like this for a while as the sun slowly began its descent below the horizon. Her fiery hair set ablaze in the setting sun’s light. The golden hour made her look like a goddess of the sun, right where she belonged.

Eveline could just reach out and set her painting down, then lean forward as her hand smashes into the painting accidentally as she would have readjusted herself forward with little hesitation.

Sylvia would look up and smile, setting the lyre to the side of her. Her hands would come up and cup Eve's face, and everything would be alright. Everything would be as it should be.

So she did. She set down the painting and slipped in it a little as she set her hands down. She leaned forward and Sylvia did her part. Set down the lyre and cupped her cheeks in her hand.

They met together a third time.

She had a smug look on her face as he grouched. "Just enjoying how it sounds." She admitted before pouring herself a cup of coffee and sitting down near him. "Aside from me being a smartass, is there anything I can do to help? Planning this thing along with usual stuff, it can't be easy." She was not one of those that sat around and made pleasantries. After all, she had learned from her father how to run her own country, but her brother was heir to him instead of her even though she was older. She took a sip of her coffee before motioning for one of the reports. "It's the least I can do. Marriage should be a partnership after all, neh?"

He would likely have to send for more coffee to be made before the end of the conversation. Or maybe tea instead. He'd see how this went. Honestly, he should probably have someone else handle the wedding planning. He could manage, sure. He had for this long, after all. But it wasn't worth the snapping at staff that would result from doing so.

Law returned his attention to the slew of papers on the table before him, let out a breath before setting his mug aside to pick up a small bundle to hand over. "I suppose if you were interested in planning the actual wedding, you'd be elsewhere doing that?" Not like he was expecting anything else from her. None of the paperwork was overly important- it had all been organized based on that criteria. If it had been pressing, he had already dealt with it. This was all slightly less important. "Some of this can wait until after, I just wanted something different to work on for a while."

Inspired by @puppetmaster13u and various dragon aus they have.

BUT! This is also a bit of a fantasy/DnD au I guess...? IDK BUT HERE WE GO-

Okay now so, I'm imagining that that Danny, Tucker, and Sam create a pocket dimension for their game via the use of reality warping (via scepter) and something given to them by Pariah Dark before he went off on that whole honey moon thing with Clockwork.

For the record, Danny isn't the ghost king here, Pariah Dark is he's just the prince.

Sam created a garden from the barren earth, that eventually grew into a great forest and spread out to the rest of the world, which technically made her the creator of life but anyways. So, she's holed up in said garden turned forest.

Tucker bestowed upon his subjects (after they were made of course) knowledge and technology and is regarded as the greatest teacher in that world's history.

Danny? Oh yea he became that one that giant dragon that everyone knows is there, is afraid of, and just sleeps all day in this one specific place. You'd have to cut him some slack though, because no one told him creating a world and its laws would be so hard even with help.

That and him, as the one with basically the most knowledge and resident fanboy of space, created the stars surrounding the place as well!

Of course, they couldn't stay there all of the time. What with work (Tucker), high-society (Sam), and studying (Why the heck did Danny decide to go to collage again?). That entire place was just made to play around in before they had to go their separate ways and be, you know, actual adults, so it was easy enough to let go of it really.

Except for Danny. Not of any great reason, really, he just needed someplace where he could quietly study in peace, nap, think or just get away from the Ghost Zone before he had to go through all that princely nonsense again. Plus, none of their creations in that pocket dimension really wanted to mess with the giant fuck off dragon who was said to created the place anyways.

For the record, Danny is more of an eastern dragon in design with a long body rather than western. So that probably just added more into his intimidation with his sheer length.

So, you know, of course he would have been none too pleased when someone actually did disturb his solitude (as stated by the dimension's residents) as soon as the world was thrown off-balance by an outside force.

Meanwhile, Klarion the Witch boy is having the time of his life coming across a whole world that somehow hasn't been affected by Order or Chaos. So he's capitalizing on that.

Then he came across a place that was said to be sacred, not that he cared, and then came across a boy who didn't look a day over his teens (which frankly doesn't say much in regards to immortals) with a frankly long tail that looked longer than he was tall and very majestic looking horns.

Danny was annoyed yet curious, Klarion was surprised yet delighted.
