⊱ contents: yuta x fem reader, post-relationship, smut, dubcon elements, yandere, jealousy, fingering, classroom sex, possessive behavior ⊱ wc: 1.5k ⊱ synopsis: Your boyfriend Yuta is perfect; lenient and secure. He trusts you more than anything. So why do his palms get sweaty when you talk to your friend Yuji?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hahaha! That's so dumb." You nudge Itadori with a giggle, him laughing back. He had stopped you for homework, which had now escalated to unrelated chatter.
Yuta smiles along, patiently waiting for the conversation to cease.
Eventually you wave Itadori goodbye, continuing your walk through the school hallways.
“I didn’t know you two were so close.”
“Yuji? Yeah, I guess we started getting along.”
Your boyfriend scans you up and down, in a way that betrays the nicety of his smile.
This was only the beginning of Yuta’s water torture. Every other day he’d see you talking up your newly established friend, and each time it came close to dismantling his well-mannered front.
With every playful gesture the two of you exchanged, it became hard for him not to stare possessive holes into you. Like he could capture you if he’d stared hard enough.
He was better than this; he was a good boyfriend. No, you’d even promote it to perfect. He knew this, and knew the bearer of such title wouldn’t throw a jealous fit. So on went his unbothered charade, suffering in silence.
The more he internalized it, the more it nagged him. Like a bad song stuck in his head. Why were you laughing with him, and not your own boyfriend with as much ease?
Yuta would be lying if he said he wasn’t starting to get frustrated with Yuji at least a little from his density. He was always too friendly; something Yuta viewed as good up until now.
It was now that when you’d offer him small pecks, he’d pull you in for just a moment longer with a sinister longing welling up in his deep blue eyes, confining your reflection.
Even after a few months his secret wishes went in vain, evident in the way that just today, you had agreed to hang out with Itadori outside of school.
Truly you thought nothing of it, but Yuta was having an anxious fit. His jaw even hung open for a moment at the news before quickly composing himself.
Even if he trusted both of you, even if it was in a public scene – It was eating him alive.
They say people tend to fill in blanks with pleasant imagery, but the opposite was true for Yuta.
His love for you was ugly; it whispered paranoia into his ears. The groundless prospect of you sharing flirtatious looks with another guy clouded his better judgment.
Looks soon turning to touches, touches escalating to kisses, kisses leading to…
He stops there. Lest losing the remnants of his sanity.
It was after school around 5, the two of you having fallen victim to cleaning duty.
“Can you follow me?”
His shift in mood was quite noticeable ever since you dropped the bomb on him, and that long silence was interrupted by his abrupt request.
You tilt your head inquisitively, but comply. The delicate hold he takes on your hand fails to foreshadow what’s to take place.
He leads you to your empty classroom. The dusk sky had dimmed all too soon, painting the scene with a mellow orange hue.
You sit half-perched on a nearby desk, resting your palms on the edge.
“What is it?”
“Are you doing this on purpose?”
Yuta looks sad, like a dog, aching for a morsel of your undivided attention.
You answer his question with a quizzical look, blinking in ignorance – only until the pure, searing jealousy in his eyes burns through any confusion you may have had a second prior.
The realization kicks in, in the form of a quiet “oh”.
Of course. You wince, doing a mental facepalm.
Soon, his shadow envelops you snugly, making you shrink back and slide up the desk to sit fully.
Your feet swing above the ground, leaving you at his mercy. Nowhere to run. Furthered by how you were now caged within his arms, warm hands dearly holding yours.
You feel his breath against your mouth, eagerly closing distance until he kisses you as if running out of time, his grip grows more firm. Clumsy, even. You gasp as a tongue is shoved into you, fevered to explore every inch.
The kiss lasts nothing short of an eternity until he pulls away, desire only inflamed rather than satisfied.
You whisper out his name, slightly overwhelmed.
Yuta breathes softly onto your neck, bordering on animalistic.
"If you were trying to get a rise out of me, it worked."
You whine, trying to push him away weakly but failing miserably.
“I wasn’t.” you stammer.
But seemingly nothing you say will salvage the situation now.
"I don’t want you to go."
It was a soft plea, but the demanding undertone sent shivers up your body. Such selfish requests were a novel concept coming from Yuta, but the delivery alone helps you realize they were underlying all along.
And now, that it consumed him.
He slides his left hand onto your shoulder to keep you still, the other inching inwards your thighs. Instinctively you wriggle away, but only end up falling flat on the desk assistingly.
“Wait… we’re still in school.” he holds back a laugh at how your flushed face was forsaking your prim act.
Yuta looms over you with little to no composure, hooking over your leg with his arm, holding your thigh. What was to come was unavoidable now, your heart racing miles per minute.
You squirm as he bunches your skirt up and his fingers graze over your clit, slowly pressing against the fabric like playing you for reactions.
And correspondingly, you flinch and let out a small noise. He rubs circles around you, grinning to himself at how quickly he got you soaked.
He keeps up until you whine – in his head a plea for more, which he’s more than eager to satisfy.
Wasting no time, he reaches into your panties, teasing you more before the roughness of his calloused hand invades your velvet walls, making you tighten them shut.
"Relax..." He chuckles shyly, failing to hide the damn near perverted pensiveness he wore.
It inches in slowly. Your insides felt so hot and inviting, and your thrilled face was driving him crazy - his love for you heightening to almost destructive. His breath gets caught in his throat in delirium.
His pretty fingers dip in and out leisurely, the cold of his ring making you twitch with each deep thrust.
They quicken before he knows it. Oblivious to you, his patience had worn thin long ago.
"Ah, mngh... Yuta, slow down-"
To think the careful hands that would never overstep small loving touches, could fuck you like this, was baffling to say the least. Especially since his upward curl on your sweet spot was making it hard to think at all.
"Feel good?"
"I... I dunno,"  Yes, God, it felt amazing but you couldn't tell him that - unless to die of embarrassment.
But he knew nonetheless. It was impossible not to with the way your mouth hung open, eyes struggling to do the same. But he wanted to coax it out of you himself.
Yuta gives your head a small kiss - like a feigned apology for how he soon presses you down, one knee now touching your chest, welcoming his digits deeper against your will. Startled, you gasp for air both from the sensation and the compromising position.
He maneuvers his fingers like he has your body all figured out, curving to a spot you never knew you could hit with fingers alone. The uncouth feeling makes whatever dignity you clung onto get knocked out in bliss.
His pretty black locks hang over you as he smoothly leans down more, both worsening the feeling and making his voice vibrate quietly in your ears.
"How about now?"
"Mn, uh, yes..." It spews out of you, as if your body spoke for itself disregarding any rationale. The way you were in shambles from his hand alone made him sigh in anticipation. Just how you'd look when he stuffs you with something more…
“Will you stop talking to him?”
You can barely grasp what he’s talking about, and just nod automatically. He looks contented, kissing you as a prize.
For a moment his movements slow from your stiffness, but he subdues it easily. The pace unrelents, and humiliation doesn’t begin to describe what you feel in being so powerless over a few fingers. The overwhelming weakness of your limbs almost has you convinced that he must have sedated you.
You cling onto his white uniform with noises slightly resemblant of words, and he gets the hint. He laps his tongue against yours, continuing to toy with you.
Soon a firework erupts in your brain, blurring your surroundings, even your thoughts. Your shameless, muffled noises spew into his mouth.
You shiver as it slowly dies down, leaving you twitching and gasping.
Yuta pulls back to look at you pleased, and you reciprocate – only more dazed.
His fingers pull out steadily, as if sad to be parting with you.
He licks them clean, then meets you with a warm smile. Such a filthy act done so casually.
Through hazy vision you can’t help but see yourself in his dim eyes again, staring back like she’s trapped in his pupils forever.
“Let’s go back to my dorm.”

Let's talk about Jinx vs The Human World
Tumblr media
Jinx vs The Human World is... certainly an episode. It hasn't been talked much in comparison to The End because it has been greatly overshadowed by the later.
One thing that i think many of us can agree about Jinx vs The Human World is that it has super chaotic pacing. It doesn't give you room to breathe because it is already jumping to the next plot point and you can't digest well what you are watching. This hurts the emotional impact crucial character scenes have, because again, they aren't allowed to flow well, not letting the characters to react properly.
It's an episode that should have been around 44 minutes long since it covers multiple plot threads. With that ammount of time some things could have been better paced and given a proper conclusion.
As for the plot threads, i already talked about how i like Jinx as antagonist in this episode. She is fun, her song sequence is pretty good. She ends up capturing Molly and using her as away to power up her sobgoblins.
Tumblr media
I really enjoy seeing Scratch finally having to deal with the consequences of not being a good leader. The reason the events of this episode happen are because of his own irresponsibilty, letting Jinx steal the Chairman robe and take over the Ghost World. He realizes that he has been messing up a lot and someone else should be in charge instead. He lets the chairman robe go and chose a more appropiate candidate to be the new chairman.
Tumblr media
My biggest issue would be the Chens plot part. I do like the part of Ollie and June standing up to Ruben and Esther and trying to persuade them into helping them to stop Jinx. It's a scene that serves more or less well as a conclusion for their arc, even if Necro-Comicon and The Grand Gesture have this purpose, (more for Ollie's character)
Tumblr media
The reveal that Geoff was the ghost that scared Ruben was nice too. It has been a thing that was foreshadowed back on ¨Book Marks The Sprite¨
What i'm not so fond of is how it was Geoff sneezing at him when he was a kid. I think it could been more interesting if it had been Geoff hurting Ruben by accident or scaring too much. That way Geoff apologizes to Ruben, showing to him that he didn't mean to hurt him that way.
Ruben also feels like he lacks proper scenes to show his change of mind. Sure, he realizes that Geoff wasn't evil as he thought he was, making him question things. But there isn't much else. I think there could have been a scene of Geoff saving Ruben from the sobgoblins and Ruben realizes how a ghost saved him, making him reconsider his views.
His change of mind is like it comes a bit out of nowhere. Another problem is how he seems to be super friendly around ghosts near the end which it is very weird. I think it could have been better if he had some expressions and lines that indicates that he is still trying to get used to not seeing ghosts as evil.
In addition to this, the Chens don't get to do much in this episode outside of trapping Jinx inside the phantom canister. I wished that they could have set up traps to catch the sobgoblins and contain them temporary at least, that would have given them a bigger role in the plot.
Tumblr media
I do like some moments that June has, like her interations with Darryl and giving some funny moments. She is pretty enjoyable in this episode and she shines almost scene she is in.
In some other problems, i find the whole wraith transformation of ghost friends unnecessary, it doesn't have any funtion in the story aside from seeing how they look as wraiths (which is cool!) but the plot could have played out the same if it had been just Scratch and Molly going to the Ghost World.
The Ghost Council saying nice things about Scratch and that he wasn't so bad to give Molly joy fits well their character arcs this season, but, Sir Alister saying they are Scratch's ¨friends¨ doesn't add up since Scratch doesn't want anything to do with them and he has interacted with them because he was forced to be the Chairman in first place. I would change that line of dialogue and leave it as them thinking that Scratch is not so bad instead.
In all, i think what really hurt Jinx vs The Human World is that it needed to be a way longer episode (around 40-50 minutes) to allow things to be spaced out better. A good chunk of the issues from this episode seem to come from that. With more time to explore the events and changing some things, this episode could have been more presentable in quality as a whole.

Helluva Boss: The Controversy Around Stella's Character
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After "The Circus" premiered, there was a decent amount of controversy regarding her portrayal. There are a decent number of fans who were upset that Stella is portrayed as the bad guy in Stolas' marriage. This is mainly due to people hating Stolas because he cheated, not caring that Stella abused him for their entire marriage and made him miserable. Others aren't as mad, but wish Stella had more personality.
While others aren't as mad, some people wish Stella had more personality. Another group knows that Stella was always evil due to her prior appearances and were expecting something like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stella Goetia's malevolent nature was evident from her youth, as depicted in a disturbing photograph where she is seen strangling her pet dogs. This early sign of cruelty foreshadows the abusive tendencies that manifest in her adult life. If that picture was meant to endear Stolas to the prospect of marrying her, it suggests either that Paimon has no qualms about animal abuse or that said cruelty has become "normalized" in the Goetia household.
Tumblr media
As it turns out, Stolas only married Stella because his father Paimon arranged it in the hopes that Stolas would father a powerful new addition to the family. As this episode shows, their marriage was absolutely miserable, to the point that Stella threw parties about how they hadn't divorced yet and talks trash about him to her friends while he's in earshot. While Stella gossips with her friends, she tells them how terrible in bed Stolas was, and how he just blankly stared at the ceiling while she did all of the work. She then gloats how happy she was that at least an egg popped out of her so she didn't have to pretend like she wanted to have sex with Stolas, but all Stolas can do is glower and order something stronger than wine to calm himself.
Special mention to the part where Stella merely refers to Octavia as "an egg", further hinting at the neglectful nature of Stella's relationship to her own daughter at best and viewing her as little more than a necessity to the family at worst.
For many years, she has belittled and humiliated Stolas. As for why Stella's still hanging around the mansion at this point, well, if her behavior at the parties in the past didn't make it clear, she likes to see him suffer. Her admission that she derives pleasure from tormenting her husband reveals her sadistic tendencies. Even when faced with the consequences of her actions, Stella's response is to threaten further aggression and leverage her status to intimidate. Even if their marriage was arranged and he wasn't at all happy, even if he only tried to preserve it for the sake of Octavia's home life, Stolas has had enough and demands a divorce.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stella's reaction doesn't make it much better. Not only is she more upset about her stung pride than anything else, she takes a vicious satisfaction in pointing out that Stolas has pretty much ruined his own reputation by now, and that he'll be punished for it. She also moves to try to hit Stolas for demanding a divorce and standing up to her, the fact he catches her hand so quickly as she tries to slap him suggests that she likely has physically abused him before. In a drastic escalation of her vindictive behavior, Stella hires an assassin to murder Stolas, showing a callous indifference to the emotional trauma this could inflict on Octavia, especially at a time when father and daughter are mending their relationship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stella is also rather single-minded and short-sighted in her efforts to kill Stolas. She was willing to demand Striker to kill him over the phone with both her husband and daughter present at the family’s dinner table, not even being sneaky about it. In "Western Energy", her inability to grasp the consequences of her husband's potential assassination, as pointed out by her brother Andrealphus, suggests a lack of understanding of the ramifications of her actions. This raises questions about her awareness of the inheritance laws in Hell, which would see her daughter Octavia inherit everything, leaving Stella with nothing post-divorce.
Stella's reliance on her brother Andrealphus during critical moments, such as the divorce proceedings and the decision to call off a hit on her husband, indicates a dependency on external guidance for decision-making. Andrealphus appears to be the voice of reason, prompting speculation about whether Stella's actions are driven by emotional impulsivity rather than calculated intent.
Tumblr media
Now that we know Stella hates being married to Stolas as much as he hates being married to her, why didn't she signed up for divorce as soon as Octavia was hatched? Stolas endured for the sake of Octavia having a normal life, but for what reason Stella stayed? It couldn't be for the prestige, since Stella using her brother as leverage against Stolas implies it's actually she the one with a higher ranked family. So my theory is that Stella's life was in the line unless she accepted to marry Stolas. Probably her family only saw her as an exchange piece in the game of power, and if she didn't play along until death do her apart from Stolas, it would be her the one to be disposed of.
It will explain why she's just so angry all the time and the reason why she resents, belittles and abuses Stolas: she sees him as the reason of her own imprisonment in this unwanted marriage. And before someone says it's too much of a stretch, remember this is Hell. If she can contract a hitman on her husband within earshot of him and he doesn't bat an eye, who can tell nobles don't dispose of troublesome children that don't fall in line to the family's desires? After all, Paimon has a lot of kids, so the other families might as well; they have plenty of spares.
Stella is a cautionary tale about people being born into privilege who think their status allows them to get away with everything She'll genuinely believe that because she's a denizen of Hell who's born into royalty, Stella can get off with abusing Stolas scot-free.

I also saw someone say Adrien getting turned into a pigeon in the same Mr. Pigeon 72 episode was also foreshadowing for the sentitheory, what do you think?
I'm gonna be honest, I sat here staring at this ask for a solid minute trying to make sense of the words on my screen because this is one of the most nonsense things I've ever read. Media literacy can't actually be this bad, right?
No, Adrien being turned into a pigeon is not foreshadowing unless you think him being turned into a Reflecta clone and a Style Queen golden statue also mean something, which I highly doubt is the case. Turning people into things is just a standard akuma power and Adrien gets to be one of the victims from time to time in order to make an episode's plot work the same way he occasionally gets mind controlled. The fact that one of the things he got turned into was a bird doesn't foreshadow anything because that's not how foreshadowing works. Foreshadowing doesn't mean "I can find a way to loosely connect these two things!"
Tumblr media
[image: the "I've connected two dots, you didn't connect shit" meme]
For the pigeon transformation to have meaning, it would - at the very least - need to be unique to Adrien in some way, but it's not. He's one of many identical pigeons and I'm guessing that this person wasn't claiming that they're all sentimonsters, right? If not, then how is it foreshadowing? What makes this transformation different on a rewatch now that we know Adrien's status? Because that's how foreshadowing works. It should play different once you know what it was setting up.
If you want an actual example of akuma-based foreshadowing, look at Wishmaker, which showed us Adrien's childhood dream vs everyone else's. The fact that Adrien has no hopes or dreams of his own while all of the real humans do is pretty clearly meant to make you go, "Huh, that's odd." Then, on a rewatch, you go, "Oh, this is because he's not a human!"
That's the way that foreshadowing is supposed to work. It's subtle or blatant highlighting of an oddity that will come to have meaning later on. You may be able to guess the meaning before the reveal, but it should play into the reveal in some way.
Another example of foreshadowing is how, in the later half of season four, the camera starts focusing on the Agreste's wedding rings every time Gabriel or Nathalie gives a command that Adrien then obeys. It's meant to make you go, "Huh, that's odd."
A weird*, but ultimately solid example of subtle foreshadowing is the butterfly logo on Adrien's shoes, hinting at his father's villain status. We know that Adrien probably only wears his father's brand and butterflies are a big deal in the show right from the start, so why would you give Adrien a butterfly on his outfit if that doesn't mean something about his father? You wouldn't, so it's obvious that this is a clue that Gabriel is Hawkmoth or at least involved with Hawkmoth. Let's compare that to the pigeon stuff to really highlight foreshadowing vs grasping at straws.
"Gabriel put subtle nods to his villainy in his clothing line because he's an egomaniac" is a really logical thing to assume. Similarly, "Everything on Adrien's body was put there with purpose by the animators because it had to be custom designed for him, so that butterfly is not an accident," is a solid logic. There is no reason for that butterfly to be there if it doesn't mean something.
"Emilie and Gabriel gave their magical designer baby a pigeon allergy to give viewers a subtle hint that he's a magical designer baby made from a peacock feather," sounds like the ramblings of a mad person. Do you also think that Adrien's inability to play soccer is going to come back to mean something outside of Penalteam? Or that him bragging about being good at physics in Evillustrator means that he's ultimately going to be a physicist*? You better or else you're cherry picking because the pigeon allergy is not given any more importance than those other little facts. Facts that were clearly only dropped for the sake of a joke.
Anyway, this is the problem with trying to claim that a random joke from a random episode must have deeper meaning. It certainly can, that's how subtle foreshadowing works, but for a thing to be foreshadowing, it has to create a clear association between A and B. It also needs to be logical. The pigeon stuff is neither clear nor logical.
Pigeon-related things that would actually count as foreshadowing in Mr. Pigeon 72 if they had been included:
Adrien!pigeon not responding to Mr. Pigeon's commands because Mr. Pigeon doesn't have Adrien's amok and that's the only way to control a sentimonster no matter their form (this would go against established lore since Adrien has been able to be mind controlled in the past, but I'm just spit-balling ideas here, okay? Work with me people! Miracular and the Paris special let him get cataclysmed without breaking like a normal senti, so retconing the rules for the sake of the plot is par for the course in my book)
Mr. Pigeon being unable to have a sentimonster because they're allergic to feathers combined with Adrien!Pigeon constantly sneezing, making him standout and be useless
Kagami being established to also have feather allergies since she's also at the pool in this episode, making it really freaking easy to establish this since Marinette is listing off random ass things that Kagami and Adrien have in common
If it doesn't result in an "oh!" or "I knew it" moment later on, then it ain't foreshadowing. But it could be something else.
*Let's circle back to the physics thing briefly because you might have thought, "Wait, that could be foreshadowing if he goes into physics, couldn't it?" And kind of! You're thinking of foreshadowing's parent technique, setup and payoff (or, at least, I've never seen it called something else.) The difference between general S&P and foreshadowing is that foreshadowing should stand out as odd like Adrien's shoes or the rings. It's something that's there to make you go, "Huh." Meanwhile, many of techniques used for setup and payoff don't require a "huh" feeling.
Allow me to explain!
Adrien being good at physics isn't weird, it's just a fun fact about him and it's normal to develop your characters as a story goes on just to flesh them out and make them feel more real. Every little thing you learn doesn't have to mean something about their ultimate fate. But sometimes the things you learn do lead to something bigger. That's just crafting a good, logical story. Knowing Adrien enjoyed physics class at 14 means nothing for his eventual career path, but if he does go into physics, it's now no longer out of the blue.
But it's also not foreshadowed. It's just setup.
An actual example of this type of thing is Marinette's diary. Her diary has been used as a nice little character quirk throughout the show. Then we get to the Paris special and - suddenly - the diary actually matters to the plot.
This isn't foreshadowing. The diary was never presented in a way that would make you think, "Huh, that's coming back later" or "Hmmm, that's odd." But it's still a satisfying moment to see her diary lead to something since it's been around for so long.
If we were never told that Marinette kept a diary and we only ever saw her hiding this pink book, then that would have been foreshadowing as we'd be thinking, "Huh, that's odd." Then we'd get to the Paris special and go, "Oh! That's what the book was!"
In other words, foreshadowing requires a reveal. I'll also note that there's no hard rules for this stuff. I tried to pick good examples that were clearly foreshadowing and clearly not, but there's grey area here, so it's okay if you disagree about some of these being foreshadowing. (except for if you disagree on the pigeon stuff. I will fight you about the pigeons!)
Another example of setup and payoff is Gabriel getting cataclysmed and then slowly dying throughout the season. His death isn't foreshadowed, it's just a thing that's happening. On the other hand, Nathalie dying via the peacock is used for foreshadowing because it leads to Adrien comparing Nathalie's illness to Emilie's, which is the setup for the reveal that Emilie used the peacock. Nathalie's illness is also just a non-foreshadowed setup for Emilie's reveal so that the peacock hurting people doesn't come out of nowhere, which is why setups are important. You can skip all foreshadowing and only use setups and still tell a good story.
The pigeon stuff was never foreshadowing, but if any of it had been revealed to mean something by the show, then it could be argued to be a situation where it was introduced as a setup for a later payoff. But the pigeon thing has f-all to do with sentimonsters, so once again, it's nonsense and people need to let it die! The pigeon thing has been used for its intended purpose: gags. That's why it came back in Mr. Pigeon 72! Mr. Pigeon 1 didn't foreshadow that, it just setup a gag that they decided to revisit it because this is a comedy and little kids probably find Adrien sneezing and messing things up funny.
*One final note: the reason I called Adrien's shoes "weird" is because the butterfly logo was great subtle foreshadowing back when people thought that was the logo for Gabriel's company. Now that the logo is a massive G, the butterfly raises questions about Gabriel's design choices since we never see it anywhere else. I've often wondered if this was originally meant to be Gabriel's logo, but they scrapped the idea for some reason. Either way, it's still foreshadowing, it's just slightly less good now that we have to ask, "Why did Gabriel put butterflies on these sneakers for teen boys and no where else?"

IWTV Trailer (me losing my freaking marbles - YOLO) Pt1
I'm just going frame by frame thru AMC'S BEAUTIFUL new IWTV trailer. But I had to split this into 2 parts cuz Tumblr won't let me post 30+ pics.
We've already seen Lestat's Theatre portrait on fire (burn, bish!) but the TRANSITION they made here is DISGUSTING--they know what they're doing!
Tumblr media
Lou goes from thinking about setting the Theatre on fire (nervously/uncomfortably rubbing his chin, my poor baby), to another scene of him chainsmoking and staring sadly off into the void. I'm assuming it's the 1970s interview, cuz we see Afro!Lou in the same shirt when he effs up BB!Daniel a few minutes later.
Tumblr media
AND they said Louis's "stronger, and harder, too," during ANOTHER closeup of Louis chainsmoking. Pyromaniac du Lac LIVES.
Then we get that INTERESTING exchange with Loumand about Oldmaniel:
Tumblr media
Armand does NOT like this interview, no ma'am! What are you tryna hide?! 🧐
Tumblr media
The fandom legit already MADE THIS JOKE too! XD
The parallels with Loumand enjoying watching movies together (NO CLAUDIA 👀)--and Loustat enjoying opera & movies together.
Tumblr media
Loumand as a happy old married couple--I mean it, Rolin: what TF happened between the 1970s interview, the year 2000, and 2022, to make Louis' mental state get SO DANG BAD!?
Tumblr media
Armand seems to be implying that 1970s SanFran wasn't where he failed Louis, but 1940s Paris when he burns the Theatre--but I'm seriously wondering if something else went down, cuz LOOK AT MY BABY. BLOOD TEARS. I cannot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This hollow, fake smile Claudia gives when Loumand walks into the room; wearing makeup & an adult hairstyle tryna look grown--I wonder if this is the same night she joins the Theatre?
Tumblr media
Lou & Claudia--he just gives her The Eyebrows, not saying anything (but Armand looks WAY too smug ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)); and we know Armand AND Claudia can EASILY read his mind way better than he can read either of theirs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Louis calls her "a spark in the dark," right before they cut to the bombs falling all over WWII Europe with flames everywhere--including all over her face--foreshadowing her ashes to ashes, dust to dust. ("Rigged to burn," Louis said in S01E03.)
Tumblr media
Did they get hit by bombs, or fall into mine fields?! Jfc. (OR maybe they were sleeping underground, in the earth, and woke up in a battlefield--GOD.) And this must be the same scene where Lou eats the heart--we see Claud throwing limbs around--are they scavenging bombed up corpses?
Tumblr media
And the flame in the photographs Louis takes, which she's been tearing down--figuratively in the other teaser, and literally here.
Claudia finna GO OFF! (I HAD to make this one a gif, to see her wrath in MOTION 🤌)
Tumblr media
EAT that racist French White, Claudia, PLEASE. Colonizer Capital--Paris SUCKS!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LOUIS DE POINTE DU LAC, ladies and gentlemen. U_U
Tumblr media
You're one of a kind, sweetie--that's why the whole Theatre was tripping, cuz Lestat's "coven" in NOLA didn't look ANYTHING like how all other vampire covens worked. Lestat & Louis & Claudia were a FAMILY. They lived like humans--or as close to human as possible. Plus they were painfully weak, with none of the Dark Gifts. They weren't living like monsters--at least not on the surface....
Tumblr media
In the other teaser I thought this dirty heifer who attacked Louis was a revenant, but if she's in the Theatre then this must be Alessandra or Eleni (which means a Rhoshamandes name drop!? 👀💀)? Please random dude please be Benedict. 🙏 I need more TVC cameos!
Tumblr media
I'm wondering if this was part of a performance when Madeleine & Claudia were part of the Theatre, not during the Trial? OR this is AMC's recreation of the film version with the naked lady--"so we can eat people."
Tumblr media
Armand finna GO OFF! But WHERE TF are his FANGS!? That's my ONE major gripe with this show--I'm so sick of seeing these stupid acrylics everywhere but no FANGS.
Tumblr media
Then the trailer immediately tells me to STFU, LOL. XD
Tumblr media
Lelio Rising. Lelio Falling. (Ooooo--the Tower Scene should be SPICY)
Tumblr media
Then they use the "script" line to transition to The Trial, when Armand forced Lestat to be scripted! 😭 DIABOLICAL! And I LOVE this frame--it's giving me Oppenheimer when he was walking through the stands as everyone applauded him for dropping the bomb & he was PTSDing. (I had to make a separate post just for this brainworm.)
Tumblr media
So Dan's finished the interview and this is his editor. (OR, even spicier, this dude's from the Talamasca, and Daniel's broken the NDA & fled the penthouse?) But chile, ain't nobody scared of LDPDL. 🙄 Daniel should be well aware by now that Louis snapped in the 1970s, sure, but he's not the REAL threat in that house, Mr. Mediocre Star to a 500 Year Old Vampire. Unless they're talking about LESTAT? 👀💀 WHERE TFC IS HE IN 2022?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What in CHRIST'S NAME is coming out of his effing NECK? 😱 It was SQUEALING, like a KOCHON.
Tumblr media
Louis slinging blood at the Sea of Galilee Armand stole for him, LOLOLOL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Louis effing Daniel up--"you were disrespectful!" I wonder if BB!Dan crying was when Armand was busy stalking him when he was drunk AF & dying of alcohol poisoning.
Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS. Louis is the center of it all--"It's you and me. Me, and you." 😭💔 Said over and over--Louis and Lestat, Claudia, Armand, and Daniel (and even Santiago U_U).

Good Omens S2 Thoughts
OBVIOUSLY spoilers for GO S2 below, so if you've not seen, and don't wanna be spoiled, don't read!
The tl;dr of this long post is that I loved S2, it was a lot of fun, and I love that it focused more on Az and Crowley, but I also think it was a little out of pocket and a little messy in writing.
Anyway I fuckin.. am still processing all of what I watched, and am currently rewatching with a friend, too, but here's my jumbled thoughts on S2 and especially the final episode because I'm having many emotions and I need to get my thoughts out somewhere.
Listen. I would like to clarify that I loved S2 and I loved S1, and I think S2 was VERY smart to parse down on supporting characters and keep it stuck to Crowley and Aziraphale for the most part.
I'm assuming that S2 was made with S3 in mind though, esp after this post from Neil Gaiman, bc lord I will cry if there's no S3.
The focus on the story of Job I am being super optimistic in hoping that maybe it's Gaiman punching us in the throat with S2 before offering us a nicer S3... regardless though, I loved the season despite my minor criticisms.
I... do not have anything against Beelzebub/Gabriel, but holy shit was that out of left field for the ending... I just feel that, despite Gabriel having memory loss (it doesn't seem to be COMPLETE since it was kinda touch and go during scenes), they should've sprinkled in some sort of foreshadowing the his relationship or fondness of Beelzebub.
Have him at least not try to decimate that fuckin fly with books, or take an interest in books on forbidden romance, or rebellion against authority, or maybe just flat out have him be interested in Crowley and Aziraphale's relationship, or Nina and Maggie's. Just SOMETHING to set it up a little bit...
EDIT:: while rewatching, I suppose they hinged most of their foreshadowing in Beelzebub's passiveness and interest in Gabriel, but it's a little hard to have a comparison given how little they were in S1
It was only after I skimmed the GO tag that I saw people were pissed about Aziraphale's choice in E6 and I'm kinda just like ??? It's not OOC though... He's always been loyal to Heaven, and the times when he's been questioning, the biggest issue, is that Crowley was an enabler. He kept Aziraphale from REALLY facing the consequences of these decisions because he's acted as a safety net in some of the situations they're put in.
I love the added scenes of the past with Crowley and Aziraphale, they're fuckin great and I like that it continues to expand upon their relationship and "temptations", but I do think it was kinda reiterating stuff we knew from S1... even if it was good fan service, for lack of a better word. I just kinda wish they had sprinkled in more reinforcements of Aziraphale's fealty to heaven. Or, perhaps during the scene when Azira is worried he's going to become a demon, he could take that time to ask Crowley on his feelings on being a demon, and perhaps if he regrets it, just to also set up for the finale desire of Aziraphale in turning Crowley back into an angel.
Regardless though, S3, assuming there is one, will be a big wake up call to Aziraphale when he's left on his own and also under a tighter leash by heaven, especially since Crowley is gone. Also, expanding on Crowley being a high rank when he was an angel made my fuckin night, I still stick to the headcanon that he was the Archangel Raphael, don't @ me
I do think that... some of the stuff that happened in S3 did feel a little like a response to fans as well, since I know Gaiman is on tumblr and Ik the fandom has been really vitriolic over the fact that Az and Crowley didn't kiss or anything in S1... tbh I didn't think it was that big of a deal cause love is shown in many different ways, and I admit I do like that they kissed in S2, but it did also feel uhhh kinda spontaneous.
Not a bad thing, just wasn't expecting it. I did replay the scene bc I'm an angsty bitch. But yeah, I'm like ehhh.
Also Nina and Maggie randomly coming at the end to like.. sit Crowley down and be like "erm youre stupid and in love" felt very weird in a way I can't quite describe, but also felt kinda undeserved. Esp cause Crowley was like "eh I guess". I think the more subtle off handed chat he had with Nina about Aziraphale being his partner was a more elegant way of setting that up, and having him reflect on that instead would've been better. But also tbf he and Azira were being bitches and indeed messing with Maggie and Nina.
I don't like the term of describing content as "fanfic"y because a lot of fanfiction is super well written, but I think S2 was very... fan service-y... rather.
Which tbh I don't mind that much, esp given Gaiman really didn't want an S2 to respect Pratchett's passing as his cowriter. So... meh. I did genuinely dislike the ball scene at the end though. Just... it was really weird, and I'm not sure what they were trying to say with it, other than Aziraphale is fucking demented... and tbh he should've known better since the fucker's been on earth for ages, idk. After talkin with a friend, it just was a really weird scene, and if anything was OOC for him, I think it was that bc his removal of free will, speech, and even actions, was fucking insane.
Also I don't think John Hamm is attractive, so I tbh was just confused for a lot of his scenes that had interactions or alluded to him...
I liked S2, I really did. It was campy, it was a lil sloppy, but it was fun, and it gave a lot more Crowley and Aziraphale being a bitchy little married couple before their fuckin messy ass divorce at the end.
ANYWAY... I really can't wait to see what happens, and I am PRAYING that there'll be an S3. Until then, I will happily sit in my puddle of tears

Yo, Salt man. Decided to finally bite the bullet and dive into One Piece. Currently on Volume 4/Chapter 27 of the manga (also episode 2 of the Netflix live-action, really good ngl). I'm excited to read it, but the sheer length of the manga is extremely daunting to me, and I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth reading at this point. Dunno if you got any sort of tips or such to help someone like me through this, or at least boost morale?
Don’t worry! I felt the exact same way. The length of One Piece can feel really daunting when you start. However here is what I tell people to keep in mind:
Get to Arlong Park
This is what EVERYONE SAYS. But it really is true. Get to Arlong Park, and if you enjoy it, then you will 100% love this series. Arlong Park is the arc where One Piece starts to really become what it is known for (and in some senses Baratie too). And what’s cool is that as someone who has caught up, Arlong Park isn’t even my favorite anymore, far from it. Arlong Park made me a fan, but later stuff like Alabasta, Skypeia, and Water 7 especially made me HYPER FOCUS on the series.
Basically if you think Arlong Park and stuff like Baratie is good, it really only goes up from there, as it’s more or less a taste of what you’ll be getting as Oda develops the story. If you don’t like it tho? No harm no foul! You’re allowed to feel however you want! You can move on to something else if you feel like and that’s super okay. Though based on your current reactions I feel like you are def gonna like it LMAO.
You don’t have to binge ALL of it
You are totally allowed to pick it up and read a saga and then put it down to switch to something else for a bit. In fact, if you do find yourself getting too tired at points, def switch it up with another series, TV show, or video game! Nobody expects you to finish reading it in a month or something. It took me a full year to catch up after jumping on and off of it and I had a blast because I didn’t force it!
There’s a reason that the series is broken up into arcs and sagas! The end of a Saga specifically is meant to be a very good break point for you to do something else if you like!
And trust me, if you’re anything like me, you won’t want it to end. After I passed chapter 1,000 I had a sudden violent awakening that I was going to catch up and become a week to week reader and I got really sad LOL.
Being a One Piece reader feels rewarding!
This is something I would have loved to know going in, but reading/watching One Piece (especially nowadays) feels like an insanely rewarding experience.
I have no idea how Oda pulls it off, but there is information that is as immediate as Chapter 1 that is still relevant all these years later in Chapter 1,000+, it really feels rewarding to be into the series for so long.
I’ve never read or watched anything THIS LONG that rewards the reader like this, it’s so fun. And it’s also something that makes One Piece great to re-read or re-watch.
There are so many fun twists, turns, and reveals that are either foreshadowed, or established in a very small way early on. I can’t emphasize harder how fun and connected it makes everything feel.
I call it the opposite of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Because while Jojo will constantly reset itself with a new cast and characters every arc, instead One Piece doubles down, and is still revealing massive bombshells that we’re hinted at ages ago.
The series does show it’s age at times
I don’t like ending stuff on a bad note, but I like to let people know to keep in mind that One Piece has been running for a LONG time, and this can be both good and bad.
It’s good in the sense that I think it gets better and better over time, but bad in the sense that it does feature a couple of outdated depictions, as well as “Pervy” anime-esque humor that I honestly cannot enjoy personally. Just make sure you’re aware going in because some of it has aged… horribly.
That being said though, when One Piece gets depictions right it gets them SOOOO right.
There’s a reason that there’s an ongoing joke in the community that “Luffy would have died multiple times over if not for the Queer Community” lol it’s extremely correct
Reward yourself with the side content
One of my favorite things to do, is after I caught up to a certain point in the manga, is that I rewarded myself by watching one of the One Piece Films from around that time.
It’s a great thing to use as a rewarding little checkpoint and be like “Omg now that I’m this far, I can enjoy this fun animated film without fear of spoilers”.
And while a good chunk of films are very obviously not canon and don’t clearly fit into the overall story (I.e. there is not a good space for them to canonically exist) some of them actually do fit super well, and in my opinion, even add greatly to the overall story.
A big favorite of mine, One Piece: Baron Omatsuri, fits this description like a glove. Not only does it easily fit between the sagas of Skypeia and Water 7, but it even adds to the later themes of the story, and even foreshadows certain elements later on in a super fun way! Plus it’s one of the only One Piece films to have a very experimental direction, created by the guy who made Summer Wars. It feels very different, but in a super fun way, and works as a great little treat for getting as far as you have in the manga!
Anyway, I hope that this helps you out? Remember it isn’t a race, and you can pick up and put down the series whenever you want! There’s absolutely no pressure at all.
A part of me wants to kind of make a “read/watch list” for people who get into the series based off my own recommendation/experience. Obviously everyone is going to read and watch the anime in order, but it would probably be cool to know when you can check out certain side content like Anime-only specials and animated films during your read-through.
If anybody wants that let me know! (I’ll probably end up making it on my own time anyway I have zero self control).
Anyway yeah, enjoy One Piece!

You stated all my thoughts about White. Up until this point he has no stakes in this story. They better do something with his character quick because there are only three eps left and I could not care less about whether he lives or dies right now. I even want Fluke’s selfish crazy ass to survive more than White at this point.
they just aren't giving us anything about white. as far as we know, he's just boyfriend. he has no ties with non and has done nothing to harm him or the investigation. he just doesn't have many ties to the main story with non. let's be honest. it makes him a little boring and bland. i kinda care about him cause he seems nice. he's innocent. there's nothing wrong with his place in the story and i feel like he does have his seat at the table even if he's not involved with non. he plays detective with phee and tan and he does his best with trying to contact the outside world. we see how fluke is going crazy through how he interacts with white. we get to see tee fleshed out a little through white.
i just don't think it would be satisfying to leave him as final girl. i mean, it's just too cookie cutter to leave the "innocent" one alive. this doesn't really seem like a story that's so rigid in its sense of morality. a lot of the characters we see are very much not black and white. you have phee who cares very much for non, but sleeps with jin and, at least the way i see it, kind of likes him too. he's on his mission to seek the truth about non or kinda get revenge but he gets distracted and veers off course. we have tee who is a major bully and does fucked up things to non which could have landed him in jail and did land him into deep shit with his uncle, but he also ultimately asked for mercy for non and tee is dealing with a lot of shit at home. i mean, he has the health of his dad on his shoulders (if i remember correctly) and his uncle was stepping on his neck threatening him with money or the lack of it. i am a tee hater but when i really think of his situation, i can't help but feel bad for the guy and everything that he's going through. and i love phee, but man was it fucked up to sleep with jin without knowing the full story.
with all of these complex and interesting characters to really dig into and analyze, white just seems bland in comparison and i feel like that's probably the point of his character. i mean, maybe i just haven't caught onto any foreshadowing, but white isn't going to turn out to be some great mastermind or part of the conspiracy with phee and tan in the end. that would feel like such shitty writing. i think this is more or less confirmed by white getting the hallucination of boils on his skin. he's not in on the plan and he didn't use this to throw off suspicion like tan did.
i think he works best as a tragic death. he would work best as collateral in the end. he has done all that he can and that is still not enough sometimes. you can do all the right things but circumstances get you sometimes. that's just what life is.
white is not final girl material. this story ultimately isn't about him, and i think that's what seals his fate. no part of seeing him coming out of the woods bloody and crying would be satisfying as an ending and would honestly create the most basic ass theme. it would make me actually angry if the "innocent" one got out alive. in a show that works so hard at being morally complex, that is such a slap in the face as an ending. it sends the most basic theme of "if you do bad things, bad things happen to you, and if you do good things, good things happen to you." the story would say nothing interesting. it is such a tired theme that doesn't take into acount the cemplexities and nuances of life.
i believe dff will do better than that. i think it will give us a story that leaves all of us speechless and satisfied. white being the final girl will not give us that.
sorry anon that i unloaded all of this on you. i never really got into it in my original post, and i still didn't fully get into it here but this was getting long.

Rating Various Companion Exits in Terms of How Objectively Sad They Are
because if we do my personal opinions it'll just be donna donna donna bill rose jack everyone else
Least: Martha
i don't think it's an unpopular opinion that martha's exit was the least sad. like, she retires to take care of her mental health and for her family's sake, gets her doctorate, continues being an absolute badass who is also in touch with her emotions and super nice. she finds a partner who sees her for how incredible she really is and appreciates her.
personally i do believe that she and the doctor clear the air at some point–though i don't think martha holds anything against him still–and she'll just call up the TARDIS when she's having a bad day and one of various doctors will come do a girls night with her and paint their nails and talk about the wild shit they've each been up to lately.
(i don't think martha ever stops being in love with the doctor a little bit. but it's not a tragic kind of love–it's a comfortable one, the kind of love you can have once you understand that love will never be perfectly symmetrical and it can be nice without being reciprocated. in the same way that the doctor loves their companions in a way that they can never fully return for how vast and unending and universe-ending it is, martha can love the doctor in a small and quiet and steady way that never fully goes away even when she does hate them.)
(and if you keep to canon with mickey as her husband you get some fun angst about that! okay, martha digression over.)
Second-Least: Rose
look. i know this is an unpopular opinion. i know the doctor is haunted by rose leaving and the narrative is haunted by rose leaving and everyone and their grandma is haunted by rose leaving.
but. girl got sucked into a parallel universe. she got to say goodbye to the doctor, even if he had a stick high enough up his ass that it kept him from saying he loved her. she moves to a different world to retire in a mansion with her mom and her dream guy and has a baby and spends the rest of her life being awesome and cool and saving the world.
yes it is sad that she left. but her method of leaving itself is not sad. she gets a happy ending and the doctor knows about it and no one dies! so i think maybe that's my hot take. first of a few.
Third-Least: Clara
idk how unpopular this is but i'm not entirely certain it's correct because.
look. clara does technically die. the doctor watches her die and spends four billion years smashing diamonds with his fists to save her. as pissed i am that those two episodes basically made her retroactively superfluous before getting rid of her, i can admit that that's a pretty epically tragic way to go out.
but the thing is, she spends the rest of time running around the galaxy with me in a TARDIS, and the doctor only forgets her for, like, seventy years and then he's fine with it again.
so her exit is sad but it's undercut by the fact that she gets at least a bittersweet ending and also that she should have left a season before she did and also the episode after she dies establishes that the doctor hasn't needed her for a while.
so worse than martha and rose who have a happy end and don't die, but better than everyone else.
Third-Most: Amy and Rory
this is why i wasn't sure where to put clara, and i'm sure this is not a popular opinion but. i don't think amy and rory's exit was so sad.
like, i can acknowledge that the course their story was going to take was amy having to choose rory over the doctor. i get that now. i understand that.
and their exit is sad! it is! it is mathematically engineered to be sad. but. and i don't want to go cinema sins about this. is there a really the doctor couldn't have picked them up and brought them home a year later? like, the year is the problem, yes?
and maybe if i didn't have spoilers and also had no media literally or ability to understand foreshadowing i might have been more affected by the real death right after the fake-out death, and the doctor running across the bridge to the book is a nice scene and the bit with river is excellent but.
i just think it's missing something. i think it feels like it's designed to put them in an impenetrable plot prison in a way that was totally unnecessary because they want to leave anyway. it feels like it wants me to be sad–and then move on right away.
Second-Most: Bill
first off! bill dies! because if you really think about it. nearly none of the nuwho companions do? and bill technically becomes space oil yes but
a) the entire downslope of world enough and time and the doctor falls is so fucking sad. she dies and she wakes back up and she has to live in a body that is clunky and awkward and painful and doesn't fully feel like hers and is slowly failing her and that everyone treats as not having a chance despite the fact that its doing its best. and eventually even that gets taken away from her and she is being slowly deconstructed, everything that makes her who she is sawed off piece by piece until she can't even get angry because it's too dangerous, and everyone is scared of her, and she is clinging to the edge of herself because the only thing worse than being a walking rotting weapon is hurting her friends.
b) the doctor only like, 50% knows that she survives as space oil. the glass people don't fully know, so he might not trust them and from his perspective she's dead and he got her killed.
c) no other companion's death affects the doctor's next regeneration so deeply. thirteen throws herself between people and guns, she drops the monologues and the arrogance because her overconfidence is the reason why bill died. what the fuck is that. insane.
anyway bill is so high up and it's been weeks since i watched world enough and time and i'm not over it. bill potts my beloved you made me so happy and then crushed my heart to bits.
Most: Donna
i mean this is just canon. what can i say here that has not already been said.
the doctor has to take donna in his arms, donna who is finally seeing how brilliant she is, who saved his life and her life and the universe, who is brilliant and ruthless and burning.
her takes her in his arms and he kills her while she's begging him not to, begging him to let her go because she'd rather die as herself than die knowing that (from her perspective) the shallows cruel, self-hating voice in her head will replace her and talk like her and look like her only she'll be dead and that will be all that's left.
donna knows who and what she is without the doctor, without her memories, and it is her worst nightmare. and the doctor sends her back to that because he can't bear to lose her, because she is donna even if she doesn't show it, because he thinks that she will figure out how to do so again–and it's so easy for him to make excuses for the fact that he cannot stand by and let her die in his arms when he can do something about it.
god.

Dungeon Meshi Season 1, Episode 3 Review
I think it was fantastic, and like the other episodes my complaints are all so minor, they're basically nitpicks. Spoilers below!
The Japanese subtitles are still kinda bad, when you watch the English dub afterwards it somehow manages to better convey the same information without leaving anything out. Japanese performances are fantastic but yeah the subtitles really suck a lot of the life out of them. There's some gems in the dub performance, like Chilchuck saying "Sword, please" to Laios instead of "can I borrow your sword" or something more elaborate.
Everything that was good about the original manga chapters is in this episode, and this was one of the early chapters that hooked me and my spouse into Dungeon Meshi - seeing how Laios figured out the living armor and how he defeated it was something really cool and thoughtful that stood out from other media to us. It was clever and novel and went into monsters and speculative biology in a way that we both adored. This episode is also the one that really foreshadows the rest of the series and it's themes. If something is alive, it desires something, and if you can figure out what it desires you can find a way to defeat it. If something is alive, you can kill it, and if you can kill it you can eat it.
All of the fight scenes in this episode are incredible, and there's tons of fun camera shots and interesting choices being made. Love the bit where Marcille catches a helmet in the loop of her staff. Also loved the bit where she caught Laios' head in the loop of her staff and shook him around angrily. They found ways to include information from the extra monster tidbits into the main narrative, which is fantastic! I'm hoping they'll be able to do this for the rest of the anime as well, because there's a LOT of vital information and funny jokes in the tidbits that enhance the story.
So nice to finally have our first Senshi panty shot and know that they'll at least give us some of those.
Though the animation is spectacular, there is a noticeable style shift between the first two episodes and 3. They obviously have some very talented animators working on this episode (the suits of armor are all rock solid, detailed, and move in fantastic ways) but they are NOT really good at drawing the human characters on-model and it shows. It's not awful but it is noticeable. I'm glad they at least were able to keep it consistent, the characters look that way through the whole episode and don't switch back and forth between individual scenes. That would have been a lot more distracting. Pet peeve, I hated the gag with the egg sack flying through cosmic space to show Laios had figured out the secret of the armor. I didn't think it was that funny, and I felt it interrupted the flow of the already very exciting and tense fight scene. Just the memory sequence being drawn in such a crazy loose style was enough for me! And the style of it flying through the cosmos and everything just felt very out of place and modern. Oh, and Laios says "oh my god" at one point in the dub, which also annoys me, but I think is better than "jeez" since a pagan could theoretically say "oh my god."
But overall a fantastic episode and it gives me a lot of hope for the rest of the series. I was worried that they were going to compress the story too much and try to fit 4 chapters into this episode, because of how they put 3 chapters into episode 2, but they gave this 2-chapter story room to breathe, which it very much needed. Can't wait for next week! I think we'll get the golem story as well as the orcs.

I'm Going Freaky - Xikers Fanfiction
(AO3 Link) Pairing: Choi Sumin/Anonymus Rating: Explicit Word Count: 4.8k Tags: Anonymus Sex, Glory Hole, Blow Jobs, Anal Sex Summary: Sumin goes to the rumored Glory Hole at Inkigayo. A/N: I wanted to write some shameless quick smut and friends voted for Sumin, so here we are. While I did write this with idols in mind, like for the ones that Sumin encounters in this fic, I delibrately kept it ambigious so you, dear reader, can imagine whoever you want. Either way, this is all about Sumin getting dick. Please enjoy <3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The door creaked as if foreshadowing doom, opening up to a quiet and dark bathroom. Sumin fumbled for the lightswitch to at least feel a little less like he was stepping into a horror movie instead of a porn video. Then again, the only porn he had watched had worse lighting than a Batman movie, and was the reason he stuck to Hentai for his weekly jerk off session.
But jerking off got boring after a while. And that’s why he was here. In this deserted bathroom on the second floor of the Inkigayo building, the rumored place of many hook ups between idols and also one other thing.
Sumin slowly walked over to the last stall, hands squeezing into fists and loosening again to wipe sweat off his palms. He glanced at the mirrors as he passed, the question of why he was here again crossing his mind for a second, but the answer was pretty obvious. Jerking off was boring and Sumin hadn’t had any luck with other people recently. And so what better way to proceed was to go with an anonymous glory hole specifically for idols?
Sumin had heard about the hole before. When they had first debuted and got acquainted with other artists and the inevitable question of relationships came up. For the most part, it was a kind of rumor. A possibility of existing but no one in Sumin’s close proximity had the guts to confirm it.
Or so he thought, because it was Seonghwa who eventually mentioned that he had not only been to the bathroom, but also had been on both sides of the hole. Seonghwa had also immediately turned red and stuttered his way away from this topic, regretting that he ever said anything, but Sumin was solidly curious at that point. It didn’t leave his mind for a good two weeks and after the tenth Hentai manga he read involving a glory hole, he couldn’t take it anymore.
And so here he was, pushing open the door to either the best or worst idea he ever had. He thanked every god willing to listen that no one else was there yet. For once Sumin had changed clothes and wiped off his make-up quicker than his members, and now he had all the time in the world to get comfortable and calm down his nerves.
The door slipped shut behind him and he turned the lock, hands shaking. He wiped his palms on his shirt again, looking around.
His attention instantly zeroed in on the legend itself. The glory hole. Literally a hole, decently sized for any dick to go through and wrapped neatly with tape to cushion the edges. It was kind of underwhelming. Sumin wasn’t sure what he had expected. It was certainly close to whatever pictures he had in his mind, and yet so much more boring.
He used his jacket to kneel on - very reluctant advice from Seonghwa. The bathroom didn’t really smell like other bathrooms, which was nice. Biting citrus hung in the air and somewhere buried underneath was all the bad parts, but Sumin was too nervous to actually care much.
Every little noise had Sumin tense up. He shifted every few seconds, not sure how much time was passing, but he refused to look at his phone. Minjae had said that Sumin had an hour and he was determined to suck at least one dick in that time.
He was going to suck a stranger’s dick. What was he doing?
Sumin shook that thought off by slapping his cheeks. He knew exactly what he was doing, because oral sex was fun and it has been a while. The worse realization was actually that the dicks would not belong to strangers but other idols. No doubt sunbaenims. Sumin didn’t even need to understand math to be sure of that, and that’s all he would know, because it was all anonymous.
Maybe he could recognize them by voice. Maybe-
The front door clicked open. Sumin stiffened, eyes wide open as he stared at the hole. Footsteps grew closer way too quickly and a moment later, something black came into view in the other stall. A leg clad in tight jeans. It moved around a little, the stall door closed, and then the person cleared their throat.
“Ready, baby?” the man asked, voice a low hush.
A shiver chased down Sumin’s spine and he almost forgot he had to answer, but he was still rational enough to give a small noise of approval.
The stranger chuckled. A belt was opened, then a zipper. The man’s jeans dropped along his underwear, revealing the first glimpse of a thick shaft and unruly pubic hair. But there was no time to catch more as a big hand curled around the base of the cock and aimed the head down into the hole.
Sumin reflexively shuffled away as the growing erection slipped past the barrier, but he quickly drew closer again, drinking in the sight. It was kind of weird to just see the cock. As if there was no person attached, like a very realistic dildo built into the wall of the stalls. The shaft was insanely hot between Sumin’s fingers and while not very long, it had a good girth, with two prominent veins snaking underneath the skin.
Sumin dipped out his tongue and into the slit, shuddering with the overwhelming taste of salt. It was just skin, pre-cum not yet dripping, but Sumin was also hit with musk and sweat, seeping into his senses until he completely forgot his fried nerves.
With nowhere to look but the white wall, Sumin closed his eyes and resorted to imagining who could be on the other side. With every inch stretching his lips and dragging over his tongue another famous idol’s face flashed through his mind. He was sure that he had heard the voice before, but he seemed to have forgotten everything but the handsome faces of all the men Sumin looked up to.
Right before his lips met the taped edge, Sumin pulled back again. He pressed his palms on the wall for some support and sucked around the tip, tongue swirling right under the head. The stranger groaned and his cock twitched.
Sumin’s own dick strained against his pants already and he definitely would have been embarrassed how quick that was, but his mind was solely fixated on the weight on his tongue and trying to keep breathing through his nose. He did openly moan as he descended back down the cock, sucking until his cheeks hollowed out.
Another groan filled the room, followed by a fist banging on the wall. Sumin twitched in surprise and almost bit down, but stopped himself last second and pulled off the dick instead. The shaft glistened with a layer of spit and Sumin opted to curl his hand back around, jerking the cock with quick twists of his wrist and squeezing fingers.
“Is it good?” Sumin asked carefully.
“Yes, baby. So fucking good.”
Sumin smiled, cheeks warm.
He kept up his slow back and forth for a good minute or so, using his tongue when only the tip stretched his lips. The man on the other side didn’t complain once, only giving small noises every now and then. At one point he jerked his hips, but Sumin took the thrust like a pro, even deliberately moaning to get the stranger to do it again.
As the man repeated the motion over and over, Sumin fell into the same rhythm. He met the cock midway each thrust and they easily both picked up pace until the man was basically fucking the hole along with Sumin’s mouth. The stalls rattled and when Sumin opened his eyes he caught sight of fingers gripping the top of the wall separating them.
Soon, the thrusts stuttered, losing in strength. Sumin sucked and sucked, pre-cum staining his tongue each time the cock pulled back. At some point the man stopped, groaning so deep that it shook Sumin to the bones. A moment later, cum flooded his mouth and he just kept sucking, milking and swallowing every last drop.
The cock slipped from his lips with a wet pop and a thin string of drool connected them, stretching until it snapped. Sumin took a deep breath, blinking through the haze. His own erection throbbed and he had to actually dig the heel of his hand into his crotch, easing the tension at least a little.
“Thanks, baby,” the man said, and left the stall.
And Sumin still had no idea who he was. He had a theory at best. Somewhere in the back of his mind he was sure, but it probably wouldn’t fully dawn on him until later in bed. In the moment, Sumin was more occupied with savoring the lingering taste and also pondering if he should masturbate or not.
He decided no when another person entered the stall. Same procedure, except this guy didn’t say a single word. Fine by Sumin. The new cock was really pretty with the slight curve and cut foreskin, inviting Sumin to dig in right away even without any outstanding size.
The second person stayed quiet except for some little whines and muffled moans, but none of them clear enough to get any idea who it could be. He sounded cute though. More feminine than the first, and Sumin couldn’t help but imagine Seonghwa in the place, because that was exactly how he imagined his hyung to sound like.
This guy also didn’t really add anything to the blowjob, but that didn’t bother Sumin. He was happy to take it at his own pace and indulge by not just sucking and swallowing, but also by using his tongue more. Every now and then he pulled off the lick along the shaft or dip into the slit, solely focusing on tasting the precum that freely dripped like a leaking faucet.
Sumin kept one hand on the stall wall again, but his other hand squeezed around his own cock. He was so hard and heat creeped under his skin. There was sweat gathering under his clothes, his guts twisting with each slide of the stranger’s dick over Sumin’s tongue.
“C-close,” the man groaned, too muffled to really pick up the voice enough, but Sumin at least understood what was being said.
Sumin dove back in and sucked the tip between his lips. He brought his hand from his own crotch up to curl around the bare shaft, pumping up and down the minimal space available between Sumin’s mouth and the edge of the hole. The cock throbbed and twitched, drooling more precum.
One swipe of Sumin’s tongue over the head was the cherry on top. The stranger came with no noise, but hips jerked back. His cock slipped from Sumin’s mouth in the process and spilled cum over plush lips. Sumin startled with the sudden change, ducking away from the hot liquid, but only ended up with more of it decorating his cheeks and the bridge of his nose.
The man on the other side released a shaky breath of relief. Sumin swore he caught a mumbled “Thank you” before the stranger left, but his focus was on the cum slowly running down his skin.
Sumin scrunched up his nose. It didn’t smell, but the cum was rapidly cooling and started to feel more like glue. Still, Sumin left it there. He could have used some toilet paper to wipe it off and later in bed he would definitely feel disgusted at himself for not doing exactly that, but there was something weirdly exciting about it all.
Sumin would have paid to have someone call him a dirty slut or something for sitting there at a glory hole, in a public bathroom, with cum on his face. In a good Hentai that would be the moment the protagonist realized they’re enjoying it. Sumin had realized that after the first dick, but it certainly helped decide that this, in fact, was one of his best ideas ever.
Another person came, but quickly left again. Sumin assumed it was someone who would have loved to take his place and he couldn’t help but pride himself in the fact that he was here first. But it also reminded him of how long he had already been sitting there. He wasn’t entirely sure how long exactly and he was afraid of looking at the time, relying purely on the timer he put in earlier, but he did use the moment to stretch his legs.
His knees ached and he was still hard. For a moment he just sat on the toilet seat, wondering if he should jerk off before the next person came. If there was another person. He hoped there was one more. It was surely more fun to masturbate while sucking someone off.
And like the universe heard his prayer, the bathroom door opened again. Sumin held his breath and slowly slipped back down on the floor, eyes stuck on the little space underneath the stalls to see if he could see the person. A pair of combat boots appeared right in the middle of Sumin’s stall and the one next to his.
The person seemed to be waiting for something. Or maybe he was thinking. Sumin cleared his throat just to give a sign that he was in here.
The stranger chuckled.
“I wonder if we have met before,” he said, his voice like a cat purring.
Sumin shivered. “Probably.”
“You sound cute.” The man moved into the stall and in front of the hole. “Do you also look cute?”
“I…I think so?”
Another laugh, almost mocking. “Can you even think all that much, angel?”
Sumin swallowed and squeezed his cock, whimpering with the sliver of pleasure the contact provided.
“It’s okay, angel,” the man cooed, “just open your mouth and let me fuck your throat.”
“O-okay.”
Sumin could do that.
He shuffled closer, putting his palms back on the wall. While it felt weird, Sumin leaned in and opened his mouth like he was told to, lips almost touching the edges of the hole. It only took a few seconds before the tip of the new cock kissed Sumin’s tongue. The first thing Sumin realized was this guy was much bigger than the other two. Definitely in girth and no doubt in length as well.
And as the man slowly fed inch after inch into Sumin’s mouth, stretching his lips to the limit of comfortable, an overwhelming rush of excitement shook through Sumin’s body. His fingers curled against the wall, nails dragging over the metal, and his eyes fluttered shut. The cock flattened his tongue and there was a distinct taste of something fruity. Like the shaft had been covered in something right before.
“There you go, angel, so fucking good,” the man groaned, bucking his hips, burying the rest of his cock.
Sumin choked and reflexively pulled back. Tears stung at the corners of his eyes, erection begging to be let out of his pants.
“Too much?” the man asked, tone amused.
Sumin slowly shook his head. He could do this, he had to. When would be the next opportunity to suck a dick this big?
So Sumin bopped his head back down, but was quickly met with his limit once more. This time he was prepared and only pulled back as far as he needed to breathe. Inhaling deeply through his nose, Sumin tried again, swallowing against his own gag reflex.
Except he couldn’t really swallow around the intrusion. Drool pooled around the cock, so much that it bubbled out from the corners of his mouth and dripped down his chin. So much of it coated the shaft as Sumin lifted his head again, enough that it was running down the wall of the stall.
The man on the other side sighed, satisfaction coating the edges, but also a mocking boredom.
“You’re so slow, angel. Is it that difficult?”
Sumin whimpered around the thick cock and popped off the head with a disgusting wet sound. More drool spilled over his bottom lip, down his skin, and he desperately swallowed. He wiped at his face with the sleeve of his hoodie, sucking in a deep breath.
“Can’t talk anymore?” the man asked.
Heat creeped into Sumin’s cheeks and he ducked his head. “No? I- I just… it’s so big…”
“Having a hard time?”
“Y-yes…”
The man hummed. “This might be a bit of a bold request, but can I come into your stall and fuck you properly?”
Sumin choked on his next breath, falling into a whole coughing fit. Every muscle inside of him tensed up and his eyes widened, cock twitching with interest. This was real. This had to be real. Sumin begged the universe that it was real.
“Yes! Y-yes, it’s fine. You can… I’ll open the door.”
Sumin scrambled to his feet and unlocked the stall, but didn’t dare actually open the door. He just sat down on the toilet again, watching the boots move from stall to stall. The hinges creaked and the view opened up to long legs in blue jeans, the beginnings of a loose shirt halfway tucked into the pants-
Sumin squeezed his eyes shut. The man laughed.
“Don’t wanna see me?”
Sumin shook his head.
“Is it more exciting if you don’t know?”
“Yes.”
As much as Sumin wanted to know, to have those bragging rights to his friends that this and that famous idol fucked him, there was also a sort of satisfaction in being able to imagine. The possibility of Sumin being disappointed with who he got dicked down by was slim, but not zero.
The boots squeaked on the floor and the lock of the door clicked close again, chasing a shiver down Sumin’s spine. Radiating body heat and the faint smell of cologne was all Sumin had to know that the man was standing right in front of him.
“You really are fucking cute. I like the green hair.”
Fingertips brushed along Sumin’s jaw. He shuddered, hands tightening their grip on the toilet seat. His nerves were fried and somewhere in the back of his mind Sumin wondered how smart this was, letting a stranger get so close, letting a stranger outright fuck him.
But at this point, all Sumin knew was the desperation to cum and the fingers touching his face, his neck, dipping past the collar of his hoodie and leaving an invisible trail over Sumin’s collarbones.
One hand cupped Sumin’s cheek and a thumb brushed over some of the dried cum.
“Such a dirty boy, but still a pretty angel.”
The thumb wandered lower, pushing into Sumin’s bottom lip. His lips were probably swollen and red, they definitely felt like it, and Sumin indulged in the small bliss of remembering how the first guy fucked his mouth. He had kinda hoped the third would also do that, but now he was promised something even better.
As the thumb slipped deeper into Sumin’s mouth, Sumin opened up, tongue flicking against the invading finger. Immediately, the grip on his face changed to a tight hold on his chin. The thumb pressed down on his tongue, forcing his mouth to open wider. This way, Sumin was once again struggling to swallow, and drool collected around the thumb.
“You’re so lucky, angel,” the man purred, “just earlier I fucked someone else and I still have some lube left.”
Sumin moaned, heart fluttering. He wasn’t even embarrassed when the hold on his jaw loosened and he could actually close his mouth, and the first thing he did was envelop the thumb with his lips and suck on it. The guy was definitely wearing nail polish and Sumin was impressed at how smooth the paint was as his tongue dragged over the nail.
But then the man pulled away and clicked his tongue.
“I could watch all day, but unfortunately I don’t have the time. So why don’t you pull down your pants and bend over for me?”
Sumin didn’t have to be told twice. He did fumble in the minimal space and with his eyes still closed, but eventually got himself in position. With his pants and underwear pooled around his knees, hoodie the only thing covering most of his ass, Sumin knelt on the toilet seat. He crossed his arms on the tank and buried his face into his sleeves, still damp with spit.
Fingers trailed the curve of both of Sumin’s thighs up to his hips, pushing the hoodie until the bottom sat around his waist. Cool air brushed over skin and Sumin shivered, but it did nothing to cool the heat buzzing in his veins and twisting his guts.
“Just relax, angel,” the man said, one hand settling on Sumin’s right cheek. The long fingers squeezed around the supple meat there and the edges of multiple rings dug deep into skin, no doubt leaving marks.
At the same time, Sumin caught the click of a bottle being opened. The faint scent of something fruity filled the space and the man’s hand slipped away. A moment later, the fingers came back, but this time finding their way between Sumin’s cheeks. One fingertip dipped right into the tight hole and Sumin twitched with a rush of surprise.
“So sensitive. Still want it?” the man asked.
Sumin quickly nodded. He would have begged if he could, but just thinking about forming a coherent sentence seemed impossible. Whatever nonsense he would have spilled if he tried to talk would have been even more embarrassing anyway.
The finger rubbed around the tight rim, pushing right into the middle, then soothing it again with a sort of massage. Sumin focused on breathing, inhaling, exhaling, all while his cock throbbed between his legs and drooled all over the porcelain.
For a moment, the hand pulled away, coming back with even more lube. When the man tried again to breach Sumin’s hole, he succeeded, finger slipping in like a hot knife through butter. A small groan was pushed from deep within Sumin’s chest and he bit down on his sleeve. The cotton was disgusting, especially with how much spit was already soaked in there, but the way Sumin’s noises echoed in the bathroom reminded him of how much shame he would inevitably feel later.
With the first finger inside, it was smooth sailing from there. The second digit didn’t wait long and with the third there was a tangible stretch that didn’t just feel strange, but actually held some pleasure. It helped when the fingers thrusted as deep as they could and the tip of the longest finger brushed that part inside Sumin that had his whole body jerking with a wave of pure unfiltered pleasure.
“Look at you, angel,” the man whispered, more to himself than anything else, “taking it so well.”
“P-please,” Sumin choked out.
Desperation clawed deep in his stomach and the urge to touch himself once again pushed itself to the front, but Sumin tightened his grips on his own biceps and just weakly wiggled his butt. He wanted more, needed more, but words didn’t seem enough to articulate that.
The man understood regardless. With one more thrust, he yanked his fingers out. A little ruthless, but it punched another moan from Sumin’s throat and he actually felt dizzy for a moment. It was so hard to keep up that when the tip of the man’s cock kissed his hole, Sumin actually peeked over his shoulder to see if this was really happening.
And it was.
Big hands gripped Sumin’s hips tightly, nails digging hard enough that it would leave bruises. Before Sumin could accidentally glance up at the man’s face, his hole was breached by a new intrusion, stretching the rim to the limit and leaving Sumin reeling. His whole body seized up and his orgasm burned him from deep within before he could even comprehend that he was cumming at all.
Sumin sucked in a sharp breath, eyelids fluttering. His thighs twitched and his teeth clenched so hard around his hoodie sleeve that he should have been scared about breaking a tooth.
But then the man pushed his cock deeper and any thought melted away. All there was, was the way Sumin’s insides stretched and molded around the thick shaft, taking inch after inch way too slow and also way too fast. Everything was hot and Sumin was so full, only getting fuller by the second.
“So fucking tight,” the man groaned, finally bottoming out.
Sumin trembled with the lingering high of his first orgasm and the resulting overstimulation. His cock was already hard again, or still hard? He wasn’t sure. But he was ready for more, ready for whatever his sunbaenim - hopefully sunbaenim - would give him.
“Please…hyung…” Sumin whimpered, blinking against tears.
“Oh angel, you sound so sweet. I could eat you up right now.”
“Please please-” Sumin gasped as the man jerked his hips once. “Please, hyung!”
“You need it that badly?”
“Y-yes! Yes yes yes”-
A loud, shameless moan ripped from Sumin’s throat at a harsh thrust. Another thrust pushed his mind back into a dizzying haze. Again and again, the man fucked into him, rapidly picking up speed like he also was impatient and desperate.
Sumin buried his face back into the crook of his elbow, biting his bottom lip to keep muffling high pitched and breathy noises. His cock was back to drooling over the toilet seat and his legs definitely hurt at this point, knees aching and thighs too tense, but the pleasure sparking in every crevice of his body drowned out any discomfort.
The man was merciless in his chase, his grip even tighter. There was no way Sumin wouldn’t be bruised in the morning and he couldn’t wait to see it, be reminded of how hard and deep he was fucked. By a big cock of an idol he didn’t know. It would haunt him for weeks, maybe months, until the next opportunity came for Sumin to indulge like this.
As the thrusts turned sloppy, losing rhythm but not speed, fingers tangled into Sumin’s hair and tugged him back, tugging until his back met the man’s chest. While the hand in his hair slipped down to grip his jaw, the man’s other arm snaked around Sumin’s waist to keep him upright.
“Fuck, I could fuck your tight little hole all day, angel,” the man growled right Sumin’s ear.
“P-please do, hyung~”
“You would like that? You wanna be my cocksleeve?”
Sumin dumbly nodded. It was all he could, tongue feeling thick and throat too dry. Talking was difficult and his brain barely comprehended the words anyway.
With the hand on Sumin’s jaw, the man turned his head. Sumin tried to keep his eyes closed, but there were so many tears, he blinked out of sheer reflex, and just before their lips met, Sumin caught a glimpse of a familiar face. His surprised gasp was swallowed up by the man’s greedy mouth.
Tongues slipped together. Teeth nipped at lips. Noises and spit spilled between them, hot breaths mingling in the air. All while the man continued to drill into Sumin’s hole, practically bouncing him on his cock in this position. Sweat stuck to their skin and both found themselves desperate, moaning and kissing and biting like animals.
The last push Sumin needed was the hand around his throat tightening. It barely cut off his air, yet, a wave of molten pleasure crashed over him and he crumbled apart like burned wood. More cum spilled over the porcelain, some catching on Sumin’s thighs. His hole clenched around the cock and the man pulled away from the kiss, leaving Sumin to freely moan and whimper with the haze of another orgasm.
The man thrusted once, twice, burying himself to the hilt and then stopping. Another kind of heat spread in Sumin’s guts and he twitched with one last spark of energy before falling limp in the other idol’s strong arms.
They slowly and carefully peeled apart. The man helped Sumin get dressed again and cleaned everything up, all while whispering sweet nothings, too many compliments to remember. But Sumin was hyper aware of the gentle touches and kisses, the way he was treated like fragile glass.
Everything inside him screamed to just look and see who was so nice, but Sumin kinda already knew. The small glimpse earlier had revealed everything. But also, he couldn’t have opened his eyes even if he wanted to. He was so tired and needed at least ten minutes to recover.
Sumin leaned back against the toilet tank and just listened to the man shuffling to probably get himself adjusted as well. Fingers brushed over his forehead, tugging some loose strands behind his ear. Sumin instinctively leaned into the touch and the man chuckled softly, almost fondly.
“Let’s have some fun again, angel.”
Sumin meekly nodded. “Sure.”
“Maybe next time you’ll actually look at me, Sumin-ah~”

Overall, Full Meta Jackrick was decent. I liked it. It's not a personal favorite, but I won't mind it when I eventually rewatch the series. I just had the same problem with this episode that I did with the previous installment, Never Ricking Morty: it's not bad, but it's just...there? Meta episodes don't go anywhere because they CAN'T go anywhere. They're just twenty minutes of "Check it out, we're characters in a TV show!"
Still, I think this episode did a decent job of leaning into the meta without ruining the show. I was a little worried that Morty would realize that he's in a TV show and the entire universe would fall apart as he and Rick deconstruct everything, and then we'd have to act like nothing happened in the next episode. Luckily, Full Meta Jackrick didn't push the show's boundaries too far.
But yeah, I thought this episode was a little...pointless? It avoided cliches for the most part, but it also didn't say anything new. It wasn't a groundbreaking deconstruction of Rick and Morty or TV shows as a whole. It was just another take on the "Rick knows that he's in a TV show" concept, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it left me going "What was the point of that?"
The episode looked like it might have an anti-capitalist message with the Rick plushies, but that didn't really go anywhere, either. However, that might be a good thing--a preachy statement would've weighed down the episode even if I agree with it.
Tumblr media
Full Meta Jackrick had a little more substance than Never Ricking Morty because at least we watched "our" Rick and Morty go on an adventure. I enjoyed watching an episode with just the two of them again. Their dynamic is brilliant--EVERYTHING that Rick and Morty do together is entertaining.
The first half of season six was great, but the episodes felt a little "off" because Morty didn't have much to do in most of them. Now, he's finally stepping back into the protagonist role.
Bringing back Story Lord (and Jesus) and writing a follow-up to Never Ricking Morty in general is a little gutsy and unexpected, which I can respect. Did anyone think that we'd ever hear anything about that train again? Never Ricking Morty isn't particularly loved or reviled--it's just an experimental episode that we probably would've forgotten about if it didn't foreshadow the season five Birdrick reveal.
For me, Full Meta Jackrick is a slightly better version of Never Ricking Morty because it's canon and has a more cohesive storyline. Full Meta Jackrick, like all of season six, also has great callbacks to the first couple of seasons. They never feel pandering or like they're trying to trigger your nostalgia--instead, they poke fun at the series itself and show you that the writers really care about this universe.
I also thought that this might've been the funniest episode of the season. Gotta be honest, guys--I normally roll my eyes when people say "Rick and Morty isn't funny anymore blah blah," but season six is the first season where I'm like "Yeah, the jokes haven't been great." But this episode had a lot of funny lines.
Tumblr media
We did get some great character moments with Rick and Morty. Rick's still Rick: he's lazy, crabby, selfish and rude. But he's gentler with Morty, too. He treats him like a person and partner (in crime) instead of hoarsely shouting at him. He looks out for him and gives him his lab coat when they're freezing--boy, THAT'S been a fandom staple for nearly a decade.
This might be a stretch, but the scene in the garage caught my attention, too. Rick gently turns on Morty's goggles for him--you know, like an actual grandfather--instead of telling him to do it and then yelling that he's too slow or whatever.
Tumblr media
This is seriously the fanservice season. Rick in a suit and tie yet again, Rick draping his lab coat over a shivering Morty, Rick tearing off his clothes to reveal that he's jacked underneath (I guess he's still working on those abs? lol.) The new writers' influence is so blatant, and I don't think most of us are complaining.
And we saw Rick's favorite thing yet again: crystals. 💎✨ (Well, ore.) Someone needs to give him $100 and cut him loose in a New Age store for a couple of hours.
Tumblr media
I also want to note how much I love Justin Roiland's voice acting. Rick's voice is so complex and reflects his character development brilliantly. I hate how people dismiss Justin Roiland as a shouty guy who burps and yells into the microphone. Honestly, I don't hear Justin Roiland at all when Rick speaks--I just hear Rick.
Overall, Full Meta Jackrick was a decent return to the show after the six-week break. Those "Rick is a nihilist" YouTube videos need to go away forever because this episode's theme could have been "Nothing matters, we're just cartoon characters, blah blah," but it wasn't. Instead, Rick tells Morty that his life matters, and he looks at the audience as he says it.

Lessons I learned after spending my summer surrounded by politicians and chief executives:
When working amongst powerful people, you can't have "bad days". It's toxic but even if you're exhausted or feeling self-conscious you still need to present yourself at your best.
When you're the least powerful person in the room, it can be easy to be tossed aside if you don't make any impact. You can make an impact in many ways; the way I found most effective was through being able to actively contribute to discussion and debates about pertinent issues affecting our industry.
Have an opinion. If during meetings, people turn to you and ask "what do you think X?" and your only answer is "I'm not sure" or "I think the same as you" or a bunch of stuttering as you haphazardly come up with an answer, you will be deemed as useless.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but foresight makes you invaluable. If you are able to predict and foreshadow upcoming changes in your industry you will find that people value your opinion and input way more than when you're only able to contribute after the fact.
Say "yes" to every single opportunity. Had I not said "yes" to some of the "grunt" work (e.g. collating databases and chasing invitations) I would never had been invited to the spaces I was let into - meeting with and leading projects/conversations with chief executives and politicians.
Mistakes are natural, but only so many are tolerable. In highly pressurised/high stake environments you cannot afford to make too many mistakes. You need to learn quickly and improve even quicker.
There is a look. There is a way that successful people in your industry look. You don't have to be a carbon copy but you need to understand the faux pas and avoid them at all costs.
There is also a way that successful people in your industry speak. Practice it and master it as soon as possible. Use the same buzzwords, match the tones and inflections - people gravitate more towards people who they think they can relate to. One marker of relatability is the way that we speak.
Prestige is a big thing. Try and get at least one qualification, whether it be your Bachelor's degree or Master's, from a prestigious institution. I overheard so many conversations amongst chief executives and new recruits. The executives would say "You studied X at X university? I know one of your lecturers really well, how is he doing? We should catch up over coffee.".
Be interesting; a bland person is a forgettable person. Try and have interesting conversations with your colleagues, managers etc. Let slip some of your special interests. If someone asks "what is everyone doing this weekend?", casually let it slip that you're "going to watch a performance by a renown Japanese pianist at the embassy". It also opens you up to building more connections amongst your colleagues with shared interests.
As a person of colour, there will be uncomfortable questions and conversations. I was the only black person and 1 of 3 people of colour in my office during my internship. Prepare yourself for how you will tackle (dodge) these conversations. In England, I honestly say that it is best to avoid these conversations at least when you're still new to the workplace.
I could honestly write so much more.
I learned so much. These experiences changed the trajectory of my career and ambitions in such an incredible way.
You don't have to be perfect. As long as you're a sociable person who is sharp and able to pick up on subtle behaviours, you should be able to adapt quickly to such environments.
I adapted so well that they have booked me to intern there again every summer until I graduate and have lined up a position for me once I am out of university (which I will happily accept, if I don't find anything better). Trust my advice, it works.

Mrs Westenra's tut-tuting days ago about Seward watching over Lucy because "she is better now, she can stop the antibiotics" feels like foreshadowing now, or at least that this isn't an uncharacteristic action from her.
Definitely!
On 6 September she gets worried about Lucy and consults Jack, who then is able to bring in van Helsing. But by the very next day, she already seemed less alarmed than expected and prompted Jack's musing about Nature creating a self-protective instinct towards protecting her from deadly shocks by not allowing them to reach her. And so he "laid down a rule that she should not be present with Lucy or think of her illness more than was absolutely required. She assented readily, so readily that I saw again the hand of Nature fighting for life." That's the day of Lucy's first transfusion, and we see already Mrs. Westenra denying how bad the situation is, and then consenting to keep her distance. The day after that, she thinks staying up with Lucy is unnecessary since she's doing better. And then we don't hear from her again till today.
I think part of it might be related to prejudice against van Helsing. Jack presents the 'stay up with Lucy' plan as recommended by vH. The maids try to intercede with Jack to say it's not needed for vH to stay up with Lucy. And Mrs. Westenra takes away the flowers which were his treatment plan. Perhaps there's an element of distrust towards this stranger of a foreign doctor.
However, I think even without considering any kind of xenophobic angle, Mrs. Westenra does tend towards self-superiority and denial. She gets anxious over something (Lucy's sleepwalking in Whitby, Lucy's health in London), deputizes someone else to take over (Mina in Whitby, Jack in London) and then doesn't seem to worry about it so much any more. At the least, she doesn't talk about her worries. It's almost as though she offloads them onto someone else, and then once she's gotten that out, she can switch to laughing them off as silly and unnecessary in the first place. After all, Lucy seems so much better, and she's not heard of anything getting worse. It must be fine, they must be overreacting and making unnecessary fuss, is all.
It's also possible that now, as her own illness is getting worse (in London Jack says stuff about her going off to lay down and such, while in Whitby she still seemed to be spending her days engaged in a fair bit of socializing based on Mina's comments), she's got some degree of brain fog going on. It might be harder for her to keep track of things. Also a factor could be her regretting/resenting the agreement to keep out of Lucy's health and not visit her. She agreed easily because she wants to avoid scary/negative thoughts (even on an unconscious level), but she also resents it a little bit because 'I'm her mother, I know how to take care of her. And anyway, she seems better now!' kind of thoughts. Once she gets an idea in her head she tends to trust it more than even the experts she is consulting for advice, convinced she knows what she is doing. But she doesn't, and she's making things worse.

Devlog #9: Play and Testing
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!
If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, which is the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!).  You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!
Anyway, this month's devlog is gonna be about playtesting!
LET’S GET TO IT
Playtesting!!! Has finally started!!!
So a few weeks ago, I gave a code to the game to a few dozen friends, and they’re all slowly playing through it and giving me their feedback. Finally, a small sample of people (that are not me or QA) get to play Da Game…
To elaborate a bit more on QA vs Playtesting (at least for this game??? I don’t know if that’s how it is for other games???), my publisher Armor Games has a QA team whose job it is to play through the game and check for bugs! As a QA team member from Armor Games puts it, QA is about
1. Making sure the main path functions correctly (aka no soft/hard locks, no blockers, etc),
2. Attempting to check every interaction in every possible situation, and,
3. Confirming previously known issues that are stated as fixed are actually fixed, and that no new issues resulted from the fix!
What I’ve been doing for the past few months is wait patiently for the team to tell me “Adrienne, this thing happened and we’re not sure if it’s intended or a bug” and I go “it’s a bug” and I fix it and then the game is better. Know that their work is irreplaceable and SORELY needed. Thank you QA team, and thank you to QA teams everywhere.
Tumblr media
Playtesting is (again, for this game) me giving the beta to some trusted friends and telling them “what do you think? Is it good? Do you GET IT? Also you’re a Normal Gamer ™ and play like a Normal Gamer ™ and not like me (the dev, I made the game, I know the game so I won’t do anything “”weird””) or the QA team (who are trying to break the game so it can be fixed, so they play in very specific ways) so your experience is valuable please tell me everything you’re thinking plz”.
Having some people playtesting the game is very, very fun. I told them right away “If i had my way i would want to stand behind you really close and look into your brain to hear every single thought you have, but once every so often is fine <3” so I’ve gotten a lot of very excited livetweeting my way, which is. The Best Thing Ever. For me, the most important part of playtesting was figuring out if the story was good! Beyond “does the story make sense?”, I asked a few times “so, what are your theories Right Now”, to see if my crumbs of foreshadowing were leading them where I wanted to, or if it led them in completely the wrong direction (which is also fun teehee). Also yes I did get a lot of screaming already. Love it when my friends yell at me that the story made them feel something <3
Tumblr media
Having Normal Gamers ™ play the game means I also got some valuable feedback on some other important stuff, like: Does the game feel good to play? Are the battles too easy, too hard? Is there anything I can do to make the game better? Do you get what’s going on, or are you completely lost as to what you should do next? Thanks to them, I figured out where the game needed more explanations or tutorials, so hopefully this should make for a smoother experience!
Having a bunch of different eyes on the game was also VERY useful for typos and various writing mistakes. Did you know “discretely” and “discreetly” are two different words??? I learned that this week!!! Wow!!! And also did you know that I am bad at remembering the difference between East and West? I messed it up three times in the script!!! Oops!!! I’m bad at directions!!!
Tumblr media
Of course, with feedback comes not-positive feedback as well! I did get some feedback on a potentially upsetting scene- I didn’t warn for it enough, and a friend thought it was too sudden and shocking, and would’ve appreciated some warning. I left the scene in, but I made sure to warn for its contents before it happens, so players can avoid it entirely if they’d rather not see it! In Stars and Time deals with some heavy subjects, but I want to make sure players can skip some of it if they know it would upset them. As a note, we don’t have the content warnings written down yet, but we definitely will before the game comes out! They’ll be pretty similar to START AGAIN: a prologue’s.
Overall, I’m very glad I got over my apprehension and showed the game off a bit. I’m getting some extremely valuable feedback (negative AND positive!) that I wouldn’t have gotten elsewhere. Anyway, this just turned into a “hey if you’re making a game you should have people play it BEFORE it comes out. I know it’s scary. I know you’re afraid of showing people something you made. I know you’re afraid of The Feedback. But also it’s better to have The Feedback now from people you love and trust, rather than all at once from strangers. Please make people playtest your game” manifesto for small indie devs. This is also addressed to past me. I didn’t ask enough people to playtest my previous game before it came out and I missed some obvious bugs. PLEASE ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO PLAY YOUR GAME THEY’RE YOUR FRIENDS AND WANT TO PLAY YOUR FUN GAME
(In other non-playtesting news, I had an interview with Pocket Tactics if you wanna read it! It's good!!!)
That’s all I have to say for today! Let me know if you have any questions, or if there’s any aspect of the game development struggle you’d like me to talk about! See you next time!!!
AND DON’T FORGET TO WISHLIST THE GAME ON STEAM ALSO IT REALLY HELPS BECAUSE STEAM’S ALGORITHM IS MORE LIKELY TO SHOW OFF GAMES WITH A HIGH AMOUNT OF WISHLISTS THAT’S THE REASON WHY GAME DEVS ALWAYS ASK TO WISHLIST!!! OKAY BYE!!!!
