Spelljammer Challenge

Hi! What's that? Is it the International Day of Human Space Flight coming soon?

Let's delve into the Astral Sea adventures and write fics (and draw art) based on Spelljammer, the ultimate space fantasy adventure!

On the 26th of February I will post guidelines with sources: what Spelljammer is, what creatures, races and places there are, and also possible prompts.

Maybe you want to see Astarion as a vampirate? Or have an idea about Astral Elf!Tav? Or have a mood for Lovecraftian Space Horror? And of course sun can't hurt the vampire if there is no sun!

The Astral Spider's lair is threaded through a belt of asteroids, like so much gossamer. Sticky, glowing strands hold the drifting rocks together in an ever shifting web; catching solar dust, ships and lost celestials. A colony of spiders lurk within the hollow, chewed out rocks, waiting for their next meal.

Missing my OC so I thought I'd tell you a little more about them.

His name's Daeron Ember'dawn Moondreamer

Heir to the golden empire of "Ae'run". Blade of the sun and future sword of the dawn.

After undergoing years of abuse, Daeron and his twin sister Nyx fled their home and began their new journey, traveling into space to get away from their past.

Now Daeron's using their abilities as a rogue to achieve his goals and to protect his sister. Lately he's felt a calling of sorts, from a higher being, a deity perhaps, and they're trying to understand the nature of this connection and how the deity's blessings could help them protect his people.

I love Daeron so much, he's my baby ❤️

Hey there. Long time no see Ignatius.

What a ride. It’s been five years and counting.

Our dnd campaign began with this big gruff paladin falling from grace, having his life ripped out from under him, his body killed, his mind trapped in a ring, desperately hopping to other vessels to run from his problems, and his wants all twisted into believing that he’d only be happy again if he could save what was already well and lost.

He was meant to be a villain, a nasty thorn in our players’ sides that could show up and taunt them, use his abilities to stay one step ahead, and use his messy feelings of their abandonment to lash out and make enemies.

They chose to save him anyway.

I can’t say in words how much this guy’s story has really meant to me, or how fulfilling it was watching it develop over such a long time. Seeing every possibility and crisis, and every time our players (or us dms) were tested by the difficulties in it. It’s been so much, and in it’s own small way has helped me to get that change can really suck but it also can lead to better things than you ever thought possible.

All that sap aside: Iggy was saved from his mind imprisonment in the ring, and was able to use it one last time to possess a dragon, gaining the ability to shapeshift and getting to be his true self again, and whatever that means going forward.

...And now I’ve got several years worth of dragon art that I get to finish and share because I’d been hoping for such a long time this would happen <3

Airmark's Guide to Planar Vegetables: Lotus Anchorite

These curious plants are found spotted throughout the Astral Plane, drifting in a meditative trance with their humanoid-shaped root systems trailing beneath their flower, which takes the place of the 'head'. The flower typically has a midnight-blue hue that fades into a rich maroon near the tips of the petals, with rich orange innards.

Due to the timeless nature of their home plane, lotus anchorites remain healthy without any need for sun, water, or nutrients of any kind; if transported to other planes, they demonstrate typical needs for a flowering plant of their size, favoring warm, wet environments. Lotus anchorites are exceedingly rare, potentially due to the divinatory use of their petals.

Lotus anchorite petals can be eaten, and if consumed provide revelatory visions that many attest to be the gods themselves contacting the consumer. Anchorites do not often consent to others consuming their petals, as they only grow a single flower in their lifetimes, and petals do not grow back.

If pressed to defend themselves, lotus anchorites bring both formidable psychic power and physical prowess to bear, equally adept at nonlethally escaping or ending combats as bringing would-be assailants to an untimely end. However, they are conversational if approached peacefully, and prove knowledgeable on a variety of topics. Consulting with them has proven invaluable to my research.

Hello! I am a professional Game Master, as my full time employment and, I am now recruiting players for the new paid game in my Wednesday night timeslot. The plan is to play every Wednesday at 7pm EST. Starting April 17th hopefully, if we have enough players. This game will be played using D&D 5e, and is set within my Worlds of Heroic Adventure setting which might be familiar to those that follow my livestreams, set 20 Years after the big multi-campaign finale on my channel from last year.

This campaign is titled Puppets of the Eye of Time, and will be starting at level 7. The PCs will begin the game as the unwilling minions of Zikozis, The Eye of Time, an incredibly ancient and powerful beholder. Near the beginning of the game, the PCs will discover something that frees them from his Charm, and allows them to understand their situation, without necessarily have the ability to simply escape. As the PCs gain experience, in addition to gaining levels as normal, each will have the chance to unlock unique psionic abilities as well. As the PCs gain levels, I expect to include adventures into the Astral Sea and the Realm of Dreams, along with conflicts with powerful aberrations that lurk there. Eventually, the PCs will be powerful enough to do something about Zikozis, and escape his influence, but where will they go and what will they do?
