The Order of the Green Hand was a knightly order founded by House Gardener, the Kings of the Reach, whose sigil was a green hand. Only those both virtuous and skilled in arms were offered membership. The last members of the Order died with King Mern IX Gardener at the Field of Fire during the Aegon’s Conquest.

The fact that the North never had a ruling queen before conquest and even a ruling lady in her own right after Targaryen conquest makes me feel that it's a certain indication that a woman is going to rule Winterfell and North by end. The first documented woman to inherit Winterfell and North was a Sansa namesake and she was thwarted in favour of her male relative. This is a very similar setup to Robb's will. Why introduce all this past information? To double down on the unfairness of what happened with Sansa the Elder by proving what Robb did to his sister was correct. Or is it something that is meant to be seen with critical lens and that even the North isn't that different from Westeros when it comes to sexism despite having Mormont women who are themselves an exception bore out of necessity and have something different happen in present timeline compared to what happened earlier? I think the second choice is more likely.

Bran is a prince of a lost kingdom
What was he now? Only Bran the broken boy, Brandon of House Stark, prince of a lost kingdom, lord of a burned castle, heir to ruins
The caves were timeless, vast, silent. They were home to more than three score living singers and the bones of thousands dead, and extended far below the hollow hill. "Men should not go wandering in this place," Leaf warned them. "The river you hear is swift and black, and flows down and down to a sunless sea.
And here old kingdom of the riverlands/rivers and hills
"Here lies Tristifer, the Fourth of His Name, King of the Rivers and the Hills." Her father had told her his story once. "He ruled from the Trident to the Neck, thousands of years before Jenny and her prince, in the days when the kingdoms of the First Men were falling one after the other before the onslaught of the Andals. The Hammer of Justice, they called him. He fought a hundred battles and won nine-and-ninety, or so the singers say, and when he raised this castle it was the strongest in Westeros." She put a hand on her son's shoulder. "He died in his hundredth battle, when seven Andal kings joined forces against him. - Catelyn V ASOS
Brandon thr name also means hill in some forms.
The trees remember forgotten truths, is this foreshadowing how the riverlands is the first place in the south where Bran brings back old gods magic.
Bran is the Heir to the Kingdom of the Rivers and the Hills, Prince of the Trident.

So, are the gods in ASOIAF real?
It's kinda been bugging me for a while. The Night King is obviously a thing, and dragons, but we never get exact confirmation for any of the major religions. So I'm gonna look at some of this stuff and see what I can find.
Major spoilers ahead, from all the books up to ADWD. I'm just gonna assume you have some prior knowledge of ASOIAF.
Edit: thanks @nobodysuspectsthebutterfly for teaching me how to use a cut
The Horse Gods? (Dothraki)
Either the Dosh Khaleen are just really shit at prophecies, or this is one deity (deities? wtf is even going on here) that we can cross off the list. Been a while since I read AGOT but all I really remember is Irri and Jhiqui echoing "It is known" all the time.
Overall, I'm gonna call horsebullshit.
The Drowned God (Iron Islands)
Like most of the deities in this list, we don't have any actual proof that the Drowned God exists, as long as we accept the fact that Aeron is really, really good at CPR. No Godless Man May Sit The Seastone Chair is a decent counterexample as well, since Euron manages pretty well on top of the Ironborn hierarchy.
Final opinion? Probably not real.
The Seven (South Westeros)
Again, not much proof that they are real. We don't see any answered prayers (especially not for Catelyn, RIP). The idea of Trial By Combat is also supposed to be up to the Seven, but obviously in the case of Tyrion's trial, it's not quite in divine hands. Based on that, we could disprove the Seven, but it's not exactly an airtight allegation.
To conclude, I will not be running for High Septon, and not just because of their short lifespan.
The Old Gods (North Westeros)
Ok, here's where things get interesting. Bran looking through the weirwood trees raises interesting arguments. The Children of the Forest are obviously not gods, so have the Northmen just been wrongly interpreting the signs? The Stark siblings' warg abilities are also throwing me for a loop. It's certainly magic, but is it divine?
I'm gonna leave this one up for debate.
R'hllor and the Night King (Essos & Free Cities & Westeros)
Ok, so, at least half of this bit is real. The magic zombies lend some credibility to Melisandre's cult. Stannis cuts down Renly and Courtnay Penrose using Melisandre's shadows. The Brotherhood Without Banners also supports the Red God's existence - Beric Dondarrion and Lady Stoneheart are living(?) proof. Thoros' and Melisandre's visions seem to be correct, if vague. Stannis' Kingsblood leeches seem to do the trick - Balon, Robb, and Joffrey all meet their ends shortly after his ritual on Dragonstone. Melisandre's glamour to hide Mance Rayder is another good example of the Red God's power.
So, clearly there is some kind of divine intervention here. Which leads us to
The Many-Faced God (Braavos, etc.)
The most interesting of the lot, and certainly hard to disprove. While the Servants certainly have some interesting magic (cutting off people's faces, etc.), it's not necessarily divine. Most of their power seems to be learned, not bestowed, as is the case for R'hllor. While I can appreciate the connections between different religions - including casting the Night King and the Stranger as interpretations of the Many-Faced God - it's not at the same level as the Red Priests.
TL;DR
While we don't have explicitly stated conformation of the existence of gods, I will take a leap of faith and say that R'hllor does exist, though the extent of his power remains to be seen. If he's been battling the Night King for centuries, perhaps he doesn't have the capacity to interact with the mortal world beyond the occasional smite, resurrection, and prophecy.
Tell me your fave ASOIAF religion in the comments or tag 'em.

Asabhad “The Merged City”
                 By Shella Longclaw
A common practice in naming Yi Tish cities and towns is the blending of family names. Such as Tiqui, this comes from the ancient clans of Ti and Qui. Now, the great city of Asabhad comes from the ancient family of Asa, whom son married the Amethyst Empress according to legend. As for “Bhad,” neither Yi Tish scholars nor priests know for certain where this came from. There are a few theories.
The most accepted theory is that the land once belonged to the Hyrkoon. Historical records do state that the ancient Hyrkoon kingdom was vast and an enemy of Yi Ti before the Long Night. The neighboring city of Bayasabhad supports this.
Another theory is a kingdom of Ulthos called the Triple Alliance had occupied the city once. Remnants of them exist as far as the Isle of Elephants in the city of Zabhad. Though this theory is highly doubted by Yi Tish priests. The last theory is the legendary Sea People had occupied the land. Interestingly, the Sea People aren’t merlings but rather a large alliance of islands, which terrorized and controlled the Jade Sea. Yi Tish scholars doubt this due the Sea People being wiped out before the city of Asabhad stood.
All that is known about the city of Asabhad is the named “merged city” truly fits. Qartheen practices, clothing and customs have influenced the city. It’s not uncommon to see a woman wearing a Qartheen gown. Merchants are viewed better there than in any other Yi Tish city due to Qartheen influence. The city is governed by a group instead of a leader, who is simply a figurehead. Sadly, slavery is practiced here as well, though far less than in Qarth. They also have the animal fights similar to the ones do in Qarth.
Asabhad is still its own city. They’re known for their desserts and famous Ripple Dance. The dance is alluring and not obscene. The dancers moved their arms like ripples on top of the water in a smooth motion. The desserts are various like the sweet Qarth truffle and the Yi Tish pearl grain pudding. Their own desserts include the savory and sweet fried cheese balls, woven sugar wool and sugar stones on a stick. Another meal fried shrimps dipped in karydi nut sauce is also stuck on a stick. It is easy to overindulge in this city.

Reach Appreciation Week - Day 5: Castles & Locations
Highgarden is located on a broad verdant hill overlooking the Mander. The castle is surrounded by three rings of white stone whose crenellated curtain walls increase in height. Between the outer and middle walls is a famous briar labyrinth which serves to entertain as well as slow invaders. The oldest towers, squat and square, date from the Age of Heroes. Newer towers are tall and slender, round fortifications dating from after the coming of the Andals.

Why isn't it more talked about how there's canonically an archmaester who wrote a very, very big Book about women ruling in the aftermath of the Dance. It's a detail that rules so much. A guy literally talking about hundreds of widows ruling parts of Westeros after the war. Why not much talk about Johanna Lannister, born Westerling, Sharis Footly, Lady Tyrell, Samantha Tarly, Elenda Baratheon born Caron, Sabitha Frey, Alys Rivers in her own way...a tide of ruling girls because a bunch of guys weren't cool with a girl ruling & got themselves killed trying to stop it. That's some massive irony.

Oh wow I never considered that Olenna might have had a grudge against Sansa for originally being betrothed to Joffrey. That's interesting.
It's so Tywin-esque. Yeah obviously Margaery is an excellent match and if Robert had chosen her for Joffrey, nobody could argue that she wasn't suitable.....
But like anyone with half a political brain cell could understand why Sansa was chosen. She was the daughter of the man who helped Robert win his throne. The Tyrells did nothing. Sansa is also closely connected by blood to three Kingdoms (the North, Vale, and Riverlands) Classism isn't a good thing obviously but it would be a deciding factor here too. The Starks are of a line 8000 year strong and have ruled Winterfell, and they ruled as Kings. The Tyrells on the other hand were stewards that the Targaryens raised up and who have ruled the Reach for 300 years. 300 years is a long time to us but for Westerosi it's basically last week.
I can't think of a different reason.
I don't think it's terribly rational, deep down. The sheer determination to get Some Kind of Crown is both a very Tyrell desire (they were never kings in the olden days) and a Very Olenna desire, as well.
Back before Summerhall, the Targaryens snubbed four prominent families by ignoring marriage contracts: the Baratheons (who rebelled and got a replacement out of it, Rhaelle), the Tullys, the Tyrells and the Redwynes.
Olenna Redwyne-turned-Tyrell claims she "put and end" to her betrothal to Daeron, but the history books tell a different story. Why lie about that, unless it was a HUGE blow? Cersei is still obsessed with Rhaegar, so why should Olenna have been different after marrying her "oaf" of a husband?
So her son marries Allerie Hightower (who has Valyrian ancestry and the silver-haired look, is that an accident?) and after Robert ousts the Targs, her granddaughter is meant for the throne, in Olenna's eyes. Margaery is to fulfill Olenna's thwarted ambitions of royalty.
But Robert picks Sansa for Joffrey. Snubbed again. So maybe Olenna can supplant Joffrey by offering Marge to Robert and help reveal Joff's bastardy? No? Then it's Renly who wages war for the crown (at whose instigation?). No? So it's Joffrey again, ousting Sansa. Or better yet, it should be Tommen. RIP Joff.
And if Sansa, whose claim Olenna may or may not have seriously wanted for Willas, takes the fall for it alongside her husband Tyrion, whom Olenna can't seem to stop mocking, either? Well. That's simply tragic.

the arryn line has died out so many times they always have a backup line ready to be the next arryn, these bitches are just sooooo bad at living. everyone’s always picking on the starks for getting nearly wiped out but damn ned & cat really hunkered down and repopulated the hell out of the family tree, like the starklings aren’t doing that bad, meanwhile you just like, sneeze too hard in the direction of the eyrie and the whole arryn line is on the brink of extinction, but it’s okay, they follow strict osha guidelines in the vale and they have a protocol for this very common scenario
