Where did the jedilings go for life day? Do they all still have family?

yeah-ish!! they all have somewhere to go:

Aren: to his uncle's! the rest of his family died on Alderaan but his uncle's got a house on New Alderaan town/moon wherever. i assume a lot of families join together to celebrate given how much smaller most of them are Zakhar: on Kiffu with his grandparents!! Sayuri: with her parents' old pilot squadron bc they're the closest thing she has to family outside of the Jedi Alela: she's an only child but a HUGE extended family on Ryloth and was forcing anyone in her line of sight to hear abt ALL her jedi adventures and friends Dar'shana: on Coruscant w her mum and older sister!! Zheff: normalest family dinner w his normal family. once again he has the least main character energy of everyone Nymie: with her aristocrat family who were all either wheeling her out like "look my sister/child is a jedi this gives me higher social standing" or hearing her siblngs say their dumbass rich ppl activities were better than hers

i think the thing that is interesting to me about teruhashi is how she not only doesnt hate the attention she gets, not only enjoys the attention she gets, but actively and punishingly chases it. While also simultaneously hating it.

She cant get any peace or quiet, she can’t express her real personality, yet she pushes herself to know everything about everyone so she doesnt have any flaws whatsoever, she can’t just be the sweet pretty girl, she has to effectively make it so everyone she meets forms a one sided relationship with her because it feels like she cares about them. not only that, She initially is totally friendless, because “girls are intimidated by perfection and anyway i dont have time” or something (i don’t remember what she actually says but it was along those lines)

in the beginning she isn’t standing up to anyone, even creepy guys who clearly dont have her best interests, who internally she hates. The only time she gets close is her brother because he not only disrespected her but publicly embarrassed her in front of someone she cared about.

Initially it seems like the only person who sees her as a human is saiki, to everyone else she’s practically an idol, or even a fictional character. Which is insane because she’s NOT. She’s a 16/17 year old girl in highschool.

And despite all of this, she pursues it. She needs everyone to admire her more than they admire anyone. She is willing to put herself through eating actual trash to achieve this. She lives her life like an idea rather than a real person, like she’s a writer except the character she’s writing is herself.

Someone please send her ass to therapy

Dragons are attracted to large, unnatural stone structures, especially when they have curves and arches, and especially when high up. For this reason, ancient nords built their cities and temples with excessive stone arches and flying buttresses (to say nothing of word walls, with large dovahzul writing) to invite dragons to visit. Care was also paid to ensure that this architecture would support multiple dragons worth of weight, and would survive erosion for as long as possible.

In 4th era, the College of Winterhold is a very appealing spot for resurrected dragons, with it's stone ring of tall arches, it's strange twisting geological base, and it's great height relative to the sea of ghost and the nearby town.

Unfortunately, instead of being greeted by friendly dragon priests ready to sing their praises (or a word wall with interesting information about the history of the area), dragons instead discover the college abuzz with angry mages, blasting up at them with expert level destruction spells. Additionally, if dragons attempt to roost on the building to gather their strength, they often find footholds crumbling between their talons, due to Savos Aren's mismanagement of the building's upkeep. The dragonborn is also often present, which is just a nightmare in general.

All of this comes together to make the College function similar to a gigantic bug-zapper, complete with dragon corpses littering the sand and water immediately below. It's extremely sad.

TW Abuse

Aren feels guilt over clinging to his abuse, because he’s looked up to his Pops for so long as a role model, as someone who he should aspire to be.

But then he interacts with a toddler, or a little kid, or even people his own age. He can’t help but think about how fragile they are, how easy their skin would give way to bruises and blood, and he wonders how you could have something so precious and vulnerable, one that looks up to you with adoration and unadulterated trust, and tear it to shreds.

And he knows it was wrong, but he still tries to convince his friends otherwise. Because if they agree, that means it’s something he has to let go. He doesn’t have to look it in the eyes and ask questions that he won’t ever get an answer to.

#abuse is easy to look at objectively from far away because they’re not a person to you #because the person experiencing it clings to the good memories and pretends it makes up for the bad ones #or worse when it’s a parent who you know has gone through the same #and sometimes you have to look at it and realize change isn’t possible for someone who can’t quite leave survival mode #WOC are taught to keep silent and play clean-up afterwards #and they ask their kids to be happy because they’ve been granted better circumstances #but we forget that no matter how many tools you have you’ll never know how to use them if you’re not taught #asking happiness from a child who has never seen it from a parent will never result in progress #we teach our children to learn from our mistakes instead of from our examples #because change is fucking hard for yourself but all you can do is cling to the hope that maybe it’ll be different for them #sorry got rant-y there lol #I used to write a lot of poetry maybe I should try again and see if I can answer some things for myself #tw child abuse #kuboyasu aren #Saiki k
