Hello. I just learned about this thing a bit ago, and got my library card today, and I was wondering if you knew of any other similar libraries that operate primarily through Libby? Now that I have had my eyes open to the possibility of multiple library cards my brain just wants to collect all that I can get.
hi! hmm which are primarily digital libraries through Libby… honestly, no. That’s one of the reasons we decided we’d be able to move forward with QLL after we had the idea, as it was filling a gap that no one else was.
Of course there are some public libraries (brooklyn among others) that have opened up *part* of their Libby catalogues nationally for certain age ranges (13-26), and then there are other digital branches of physical libraries like the Library of Congress’ open access digital collections. The closest I can think of for a fully digital library would be the Digital Public Library of America or DPLA, but they don’t use Libby. BPL, LoC, DPLA and others also don’t have the same focus on queer books that we do at QLL.
There are other excellent queer libraries out there too, but most are primarily physical collections (one exception being Quatrefoil Library who also launched a digital branch on Libby, but they also have a much more geographically narrow focus - Minneapolis - than we do)

read green arrow rebirth and now I'm thinking about the fucking Library that would be required to maintain any sort of Roy/Jason living arrangement
non fiction is literally everything from quantum mechanics to south china sea trade circa 1850, fiction is a horse we've beat to death ofc
they have to buy a house together because they have chronic "what if I need this again at some unspecified time" disease and can't let go of a single thing

This has been such a good week for me?? I passed my drivers licence exam on Monday, then I got a 20% position at my local museum, AND now I've booked a trip in April with a fandom friend 🥰 how could it get any better?

New job means the brain's been a' churning with code lately. Putting some cycles towards @renegadeguild this month-- signature order spine lines are (languishing) in review (as Draft) and I threw together a typeset assembly tool in hopes of finally (collaboratively) tackling the idea of a Renegade cookbook.
Launched in honor/anticipation of Edible Book Day (April 1st), the Renegade PDF Potluck tool is currently accepting entries. Currently only available to Renegade Bindery folks (thems on the Discord) -- you can find the link & info in the Event on the server.
Deadline for entries is tomorrow (Saturday, March 22nd 2024) @ midnight PST but seeing as only 2 entries have been submitted so far, might be extending that a bit.

[springtime comes to the bayou]
I got to see the moment it started raining, which feels like a gift. The clouds had been gathering for an hour or so. The live oaks and loblolly pines had been shuddering and swaying in the gray breeze as the creek lapped, agitated, at the cypress knees.
So it wasn’t a surprise that it would rain. The ropes and planks of the old bridge knew it was coming, as did the iron-framed glass panes of the lanterns arching over them. So did I. So did everyone.
But I saw the first raindrop darken the pathway bricks – or maybe the second or the third, impossible to know – and I felt the yellow-green curl of new growth unfolding in my chest, young fronds and tender-climbing vines spiral around my ribs. The scent of warm, wet loam filled the soak-thirsty soil of my lungs as I inhaled, tiny blossoms scattering over my sternum. Aching, I unfold from winter sleep and feel springtime on my skin.

Did you expect Rescuing Rusty in 2023??? (RR is @zeejax‘s ♥) (Patreon)
Trick question! Even I wasn’t expecting Rescuing Rusty, but since it was up next on my fics to vet for construction, I had to give it a reread!
Didn’t it turn out lovely 💕 There’s not a lot of sky-related imagery in RR, but I couldn’t not go with this colour - it’s an even richer rust colour IRL :D
The spine ended up being big enough that I was able to sneak in two bookmarks! One for Zoom (the black) and one for Rusty (the red)
Even though they sit separately, Rusty’s still crosses over Zoom’s hehe ♥

why do people get so defensive about shit that doesn't even apply to them like ok your library is only open during your working hours and you can't go and that's fine but why are you leaving a 3 paragraph response to someone saying that going to a library is always a good idea if you want to go outside but not be outside
