I'm fighting the urge to write a Fix-It fic about the Teen Wolf Movie just because this fucking movie has awakened so many of my Sterek feelings and I'm DYING
Movie Spoilers Ahead
So Eli Hale has a habit of stealing STILE'S JEEP from his family garage because it pisses his father off? And Derek has fixed the keep after Stiles left it behind?
FINE. But that's because Derek tried to move on from Stiles, had a kid, and realized he wasn't happy in his marriage.
So he and Stiles try for the first fucking time and Stiles sees Eli growing up. They don't acknowledge their relationship at first - and they don't tell Eli because he's still too little when they are together - but they have some nice moments. They are happy.
Eli grows up seeing how his father and Stiles make a nice family together. He gets attached to Stiles because how can he not? They have taco Thursdays and Stiles promises Eli he'll be the one to teach him how to drive when he's old enough and yes, he's doing in on the Jeep.
And it fills Derek's heart with so much joy, to see his kid and the man he loves getting along.
But by Eli's 10th birthday, things start to get weird between them. Things are getting too serious and Derek is scared and Stiles is afraid of fucking this up because that's what he does, isn't it? He fucks things up.
They fight a lot and Derek can't keep doing this to Eli. He has to put Eli first, so he asks Stiles to move out, for a while. Just until they can find a way to fix whatever is broken between them. But Stiles... He's a martyr and he can't jeopardize Derek and Eli's relationship. That's bigger than anything else.
So without saying anything, he leaves.
And Eli rebels because he just doesn't get it. He thinks his dad messed things up with Stiles. He thinks Stiles didn't like him enough to stay for him. Things get awful, Derek shuts himself off and Stiles just stays away because it's easier.
By the time Eli is turning 16, he starts stealing Stile's jeep. Yes, because he's trying to upset his dad but also because Stiles promised him.
After the tenth time, Eli steals it and no one comes to collect him. He parks it close to the old Hale property and he just hangs out there for a while, lying on the hood of the jeep, looking at the sky.
"There's no place where the sky looks more beautiful than in Beacon Hills." A voice startles him and he gets up in a jump, looking straight at Stiles.
He's older but his head is buzzed. He smiles at Eli and shoves him to the side so he can sit beside him.
"Your father is worried about you, you know."
"He doesn't care about me. Like you didn't care about me."
Stiles sighs. "I care about you, kiddo. So much. That's why I left. And your father... He's a complicated man. But he loves you more than anything."
Eli is silent for a moment and Stiles just looks at him.
"You've grown."
"Well, you're old."
Stiles chuckles. "I guess I am." He waits for a bit, then, "I was just like you when I was 16. Didn't care about rules. Felt like I was invincible."
Eli doesn't say anything to that. There's nothing to be said. He feels invincible. He feels like his being reckless is the only way his father will pay attention to him.
"Let's go home, Eli."
There's a long stretch of silence between them. Eli blinks and Stiles can see there are tears pooling at the corners of his eyes.
"It's been a while since that house felt like home," is what Eli says, in a whisper. Like he's ashamed of saying it.
"I know," Stiles answers, truthfully. He knows the feeling. No place he's lived in after moving away has felt like home either. "But it's time. So let's just go home."

Merry Christmas!
Knot What I Was Expecting by KnottheWolf - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 2,778, sterek)
Day 6- Creampie: Maybe Stiles shouldn’t have visited Derek while on the night of a full moon. That’s a lie. He totally would have done it again.
Wanting Stiles by BoBaJa- (Rating: Explicit, Words: 2,985, sterek)
Waiting for his roommate to finish showering for a frat party, Derek can't resist relieving tension with his face buried in Stiles's sheets. He's done it before - and he knows how dangerous his crush has become, but he just can't help it. What's the worst thing that could happen?
But then Stiles catches him - and suddenly, Derek's wildest dreams are coming true.
Heaven is a Place on Earth by whentheywrite - (Rating: Mature, Words: 4,820, sterek)
Derek glanced up, eyes red, and Stiles promptly choked on his own breath. He was pretty sure he didn’t have a ‘yes sir’ kink but yeah, that could probably do it for him.
“You’re so loud,” Derek murmured, letting go of Stiles’s wrists to trace his fingers down Stiles’s chest. Stiles arched up against it and the man smirked.
“Too loud.”
“I don’t appreciate being shamed for my beautiful voice.”
Fourth time's the charm by An-a-droid (AnnaHawk) - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 11,782, sterek)
Derek and Stiles have been together for a few months, and Derek won't let Stiles stay on top during sex, his instincts telling him to take and claim. Stiles enjoys it to a certain point, but decides to find a way to make Derek behave for once, no matter how many times he has to try.
It's Always Something, Even at Christmas by NephilimEQ - (Rating: Mature, Words: 20,386, sterek)
Stiles Stilinski is an accomplished FBI agent, an accomplished emissary, and a good friend and son...and also an emergency fake date? Even as something weird is starting to go on just a few days before Christmas in Beacon Hills, Derek comes to Stiles for help--to be his fake boyfriend for his work Christmas party. Excited, but also nervous, can he handle it all at the same time while still concealing his feelings for the werewolf that he's had a crush on since he first met him? Despite Erica's reassurance, Stiles worries...
Proximity by NadiaHart - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 5,963, sterek)
This was supposed to be a routine scouting mission. Go check out the creepy warehouse that suddenly appeared behind the abandoned movie theater off route 15; take some notes, maybe a photo or two. Do some basic recon and report back to the rest of the pack. That is decidedly not what happened. And now, standing chest-to-chest, squished into a shipping crate with Derek, Stiles absently wonders where he went wrong.
"Darling, you look perfect tonight." by EvanesDust - (Rating: G, Words: 500, sterek)
...the one where Stiles reminisces about the first time Derek proposed.
Fuck a Witch by Noname109 - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 2,930, sterek)
“What do you need, Stiles?” Derek’s voice is raw and deeper than normal. Stiles holds his head back against the pillows and just breathes for a couple seconds.
“I just... I need... fuck...”
“Use your words, you’re good at that.”
“Oh, fuck you.”
“Mm, maybe later.”
“Fucker.“
Who's Your Daddy? by victurius - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 3,597, sterek)
It starts out as a joke, Stiles calls Derek 'dad' when the alpha gives him a snappy order. What Stiles doesn't expect is how the joke seems to affect Derek... Or six times Stiles calls Derek 'daddy' and one time he does something about it.
I'm Your Alpha Now by HyperSonic - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 2,670, sterek)
Stiles goes to a club with his best buddy and alpha Scott, but leaves with a new alpha.

can you do stiles mpreg headcanons for me? like him preggers with eli🫶🏼☺️
FOR SURE😭 I love getting these😩 a few notes first: Derek never lost his alpha status and Scott gave him up after Derek confronted him about Stiles being his mate and never letting Scott take Stiles away from Derek's pack. Some of the people who were dead aren't dead.
LET ME HAVE MORE ASKS! but for real, feel free to ask me for more headcanons or more in detailed specific asks. I love answering them.
Stiles loves Derek adoring his pregnant stomach and Derek loves showing Stiles his Love for the full-rounded tummy. Kisses, tender touches, rubbing, stroking…. Derek does it all. He's even been caught a few times talking or singing to the bump softly early in the mornings or late into the hours of sleep.
Stiles sobs like a maniac when his jeans don't fit and the pack makes a day of buying new clothes for all so Stiles wouldn't feel singled out and they spoil the hell out of a very hormonal Stiles. The day was filled with eating, bonding, Lydia doing her well-known fashion shows in fitting rooms, and pictures. All at the expense of Derek's Bank account.
Noah, after being explained the possibility of Stiles' pregnancy through makes and mating by Peter's Education on the subject, stands and shouts “I'm gonna be a good damned grandpa!” before high-fiving every pack member he can reach.
Stiles goes into overload with the whole wolf theme. I'm talking wolf-themed onesies, bottles, binkies, hats, sweaters, baby booties, etc. And Derek, he doesn't have the heart to tell his excited mate that the dresser and closet are almost full after Stiles, Issac, and the girls go baby shopping.
The pack sometimes has a hard telling if Grandpa or the expecting parents are more eager to meet the tiny bundle of Joy that would become Elias Claude Stilinski Hale (Eli). And Noah definitely didn't help to stop Stiles with the Wolf theme because if anything he was enabling it.
Stiles has cravings for many things but his most frequent are Deer burgers, Onion rings, pickle wraps, and peanut butter milkshakes. Malia of course loves Stiles's first craving, Noah likes his son not being able the get onto him about greasy onion rings they'd eat together, Derek was glad pickle wraps were normal cravings, and Peter indulges in Peanut butter milkshakes with his favorite nephew-in-law.
Stiles has a hard time in the later months of the pregnancy and is basically left on bed rest after 8 months. Eli liked to kick Stiles all night in the bladder and on multiple occasions, Stiles would just cry after waking up and throwing his legs over the bed because everything just fucking hurt! Derek, being a good mate would wake up and help the heavily pregnant man by taking some pain as the walked to and from the bathroom and even as his mate fell asleep beside him after each slowly agonizing bathroom trip.
The Pack runs wild with the pack mom Stiles idea and can't stop making jokes about having a new “baby brother”. Erica and Issac go out of the way and get custom shirts labeled dad, mom, Grandpa, favorite uncle, big brother, big sister, etc. with everyone's name on the back if their own shirt as a cute pack idea when Stiles said he wanted to do a family photo shoot of their pack. (the shirts were a surprise for Derek and Stiles and they couldn't stop laughing as the pack forced them into their shirt for the photos.)

🔥 for Teen Wolf, please :)
From this
Sorry that it's been a while
I've literally been thinking about this since I got this ask. I haven't been in the fandom long enough to really feel confident on what my unpopular opinions would be.
I guess that I like Sterek AND Stydia AND Stalia. I don't think Derek would have been comfortable if he had been the only one Stiles had been with considering Derek's teenaged years. He'd want Stiles to have some experience before being with him, so I think it's ridiculous to put down Stiles' previous relationships.
Also, Stiles being "mom" or the "pack mom" - why can't he be "pack dad"? You can have two dads... Seriously, enough with saying "Stiles is Eli's mom".
Overall, it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine when people insist on Stiles being "the girl" of the relationship. As many say, he's a "feral bastard boy". He's a mean, if socially awkward, jock with nerdy interests who doesn't respect personal boundaries, like AT ALL. He's extremely parentified and so he will make sure everyone he cares about stays alive, but that doesn't automatically mean he's nurturing. Just look at his canon relationships with Liam and Isaac. He cares for their wellbeing, yes, but he is NOT nice about it.
I think that while Sterek are both versatile once together, Stiles would be the more dominant in bed and Derek would be more submissive. Derek was born a middle child beta wolf in a huge pack, and is thrust into a leadership position and is all alone. He wants/needs to be taken care of. After the Nogitsune, I think Stiles has even more control issues than he previously had and is a lot more aware of his dark side. Not to mention, Stiles is like the definition of Power Bottom.
I think people infantilize Malia. Just because she was a wolf for 8 years, it doesn't mean she's still, mentally, a child. She just doesn't understand human society. Considering the amount of autistic people that are the same way, it really annoys me to see.
I also think that Allison is overrated. <-probably my most unpopular opinion...
I can't think of any others right now. I think

The Sheriff about Derek
During the end scene of the movie, during Derek's funeral, Noah talks to Eli about the jeep and I wanna dig deeper into it.
You know, I’m not sure how your dad would feel about me giving you the Jeep. But, um, something tells me it’s the right thing to do.
This is the first thing Noah says to Eli about the jeep and also about his father and it's strange that he says that, cause at the beginning of the show they haven't had the best friendship since Derek was basically a fugitive and the Sheriff had to catch him somehow. But, during the later seasons they become somewhat 'friends', yet to me it doesn't look like they knew each other so well in the seasons to actually ends up as they are in the film.
So, maybe after Stiles left for the FBI and Noah had learned that Derek wasn't the bad guy of the situation, they grew closer since they both fight for justice in their own way, in fact Derek helps Noah whenever a case looks a little too much supernatural.
Yet, maybe they talked a lot and not only about work cause Noah, in that bit of dialogue, seemed to know Derek rather well despite the little time we see them together on screen.
Maybe they talked about Stiles and how he ended up being Derek's anchor or something similiar which made them stick close during the time between the end of season 6 and the beginning of the movie; which could explain why he feels like it's the right thing to do - to give the jeep to Eli and with it all that comes - despite being aware of Derek's feelings about it - maybe it was a mixture of such deep emotions that were so in contrast that he loved and hated it at the same time for different reason but ultimately, he ended up in love with it despite feeling something else too.
And then Eli answers him
He hated that jeep
Which means Eli probably knows about the hateful and maybe even resentfull part of Derek's feelings for the jeep, maybe he even felt betrayed or hurt by just looking at the car. But he isn't aware of the other half of them, which maybe explains why Noah changes the course of the conversation talking about how, metaphorically, the jeep was Derek.
After my son left it behind, Derek towed it in, thinking it was probably beyond repair. But then he opened up the hood and he pulled off all the duct tape Stiles had stuck on it. And he managed to fix it.
This basically says how deep care and love can put back together things that hold together by weak - or non permanent - solutions. Derek took it and put in all the effort to get it back to function despite believing it was beyond repair and that it would've ended up as a useless attempt, but he was wrong. He put in the effort, the time and care while also being mindfull of what the jeep meant to Stiles - cause why would he ever even try to put the car back together it if didn't mean anything to him? he did it thinking of a reason of why it would be good to have the jeep functioning again - and fixed it. Probably surprising many he managed to do that and maybe Stiles knows about it, or maybe he doesn't.
That Jeep, no matter what’s been done to it, it just keeps running. He could never figure out why it wouldn’t break down and stay down. And I don’t think he ever realized that that’s exactly the way we saw him.
This is literally Noah telling Eli how his father, just like the jeep, never gave up and somehow, despite almost everyone knowing he was broken and damaged and therefore probably useless to even try to help, he ended up beinf the man that he was, the 'force of nature' that never shuts down but just keeps running.
Derek never rsally gave up. He changed and was hurt, learned and taught, he kept believing that - maybe - there was more than just sorrow ahead and he found his peace. He had a son and a nice, calm life. Derek never stopped being alive despite having many reasonable excuses to just leave everyone behind and hide somewhere else, but he never did. He kept being there for everyone and helped people as best as he could, he only way he thought he knew.
Just like the jeep never definitely shutted down forever, so did Derek. Somehow they managed to push further and with other's help - which could mean Stiles for both or the pack for Derek - they ended up in good people's care.
The jeep ended up being fix by Derek and Derek had Eli and a good life despite the odds.
Then Noah goes on...
I have never seen anyone take the kind of punishment that Derek Hale took… And kept taking… In order to protect the people he loved.
This is almost self-explanatory...
Noah, after understanding who Derek Hale was, was able to see the way he just kept adding weights on his shoulders. How Derek never really forgave himself for what happened - which could be many things, like the fire because of Kate or what happened with Boyd - and just kept it all inside, almost stabbing himself with guilt from the past and pain from the present; from still fighting and protecting the people he cared for.
Noah says 'punishment' and not another word, he chooses it among hundreds of other words to describe Derek. He says how he just kept taking all the pain and suffering to protect the people he loved, which we have various examples of:
When he lost his Alpha power for taking too much pain from Cora and saving her
When he stood by Stiles' side despite him being possessed by the nogitsune and still fighting for him
When he saved Jennifer from Boys and Cora and didn't even fight them back, not really
Noah knew Derek better than most and he wanted Eli to know his father was a great man.
I'll probably edit this tomorrow and add more

A fanfiction or a series (my god, a series about this) in which Eli explains (in the voiceover for the series?) just how weird his family is.
Starting with Eli's many aunts and uncles, 3/4 of whom share no blood ties with him. ( Yes, the puppy pack is part of the Hale pack. Yes, Alec was Eli's babysitter. )
( Erica and Boyd would have twins about the same age as Eli. Why would that be? I have no idea. )
( For those who love Scott/Isaac/Allison, they would have 4 children. Yes, exactly, so that 3 of them would come from duos and the last one would come into the world thanks to the magic and presence of 3 DNAs. )
(The whole pack would not live in the huge mansion that is the Stilinski-Hale mansion. Thiam and Morey would have their own place. Sheriff would have refused to move in. )
Then his cousins, of all ages, each more unusual and annoying than the last. With whom he shares the same grimaces when they learn that most of their parents have gone out with each other.
( - Sweet Home Alabama-
- Shut up! )
His dziadzia, who had never been angry with him for ruining his wallpaper (he had every reason to be. They were horrible drawings-) and who had taught him to lie to his tata while making him promise never to lie, understood, you little rascal, when they went to get the greasiest order in the whole fast-food restaurant. And his babcia and his abuela and his abuelo and his tias and his tios and his primos and his primas he knew only in grave form.
Finally, his dads, who look like they hate each other half the time or would kill someone if it made the other half smile. His two dads who have criminal records but brunch with the station cops once a month. His two dads who are both biologically men and who have biologically managed to have a child together.
(Eli politely asks anyone who jokes about him being his parents' little shit to fuck off. His dads told him his tata had a C-section, okay ?!)
A fanfic or series in which we discover the famous Hale Pack that has risen from the ashes and is so feared and respected. Where we discover how Eli feels so alienated from the pack he loves and cherishes, so alienated from his family. How Eli feels he's not cut out to be the next Alpha of the pack. How certain Eli is that he'll never be anything like his incredible, powerful, famous dads, no matter how many times he's told he's the spitting image of Stiles or has Derek's eyes and sourwolf face.
Eli sees himself as the boring kid in this extraordinary family, the boring offspring of a rich heir to a famous werewolf pack, a bad boy with a tragic past in his youth, a DILF today with his dad's super skills, a fair and fierce true Alpha (alive and not DEAD) and an FBI agent as sarcastic as he is intelligent, a supernatural detective in his spare time, a fearsome spark, emissary and Alpha mate. Like the good old cliché of the character with no friends but his cousins and an overpowering entourage, so beloved and popular and so much more remarkable and interesting script-wise than he is.
(Perhaps Eli never could and never will be able to shift? Perhaps being human is in part the source of his fear.)
And being the good old cliché that he is, he apparently becomes interesting when he gets superpowers. (Stiles is not at all happy that the Nemeton has chosen him to be its guardian. In fact, no one in his family seems happy. Great.)

Thank You, For Being You
Isaac Lahey x Fem!Reader Series
Abomination
Omega Part 1 | Omega Part 2 | Shape Shifted | Ice Pick | Venomous | Frenemy | Restraint | Raving | Party Guessed | Fury
Prompt: Derek has gotten his pack together meaning, talking to Isaac has officially become impossible. However, that doesn’t mean you’re gonna stop trying. Your powers have stirred up again and it’s time you got answers. Luckily, Deaton seems to have some.
a/n: guys writing this has genuinely been so fun, thank you to those who continue to support this story! This is my first official work on tumblr so I’m happy to see that it’s doing pretty well! Anyways, buckle up, make a snack it's a long chapter! love you guys and hope you enjoy this next chapter!
*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧*.✧
“They’re coming back, so we don’t have much time to talk.” Deaton expressed, trying to hurriedly clean Scott’s wound. “What is that,” Scott asked. “Rubbing alcohol. You don’t want it to get infected, do you?” Scott rapidly shook his head before Deaton continued on explaining, “You’ll heal the same. Just not as quickly, because of Derek.”
“Okay, how do you know all this,” you butted in, trying to comprehend the current situation. “Actually, how do you know anything,” you clarified.
“It’s a long story. What I can tell you is that I know about his kind and even a little bit of yours,” you blinked in shock, “his kind, I can help.” He finished off what he was doing, turning to the dead man on the table, “This… this is something different.”
“Do you know what did it?”
“No, but the Argents will and this is the crucial part. They’ll have some kind of record or book. It’ll have descriptions, histories, notations of all the things they’ve discovered.”
“All-,” you stuttered, “The things,” your best friend had finished for you, “How many different things are there?”
You heard a car approaching and panicked, Deaton rushed you off to hide but not before mentioning to you that he would explain more later. Scott and you hid in the supply closet but considering your lack of supernatural hearing, you could only get bits and pieces.
A paralytic toxic, sliced through bone, no idea of the creature responsible, but killing may be it’s only purpose. All terrifying notes that you really didn’t want to think about. Soon enough the Argents left with their hurt egos in tow and you came out of hiding. Only for you to get a call from Stiles, someone had been murdered at the auto shop. Scott had urged Deaton that all information could wait before leading you both out so he could get to his meeting and you could get to Stiles.
~
“Stiles!”
You had caught the attention of both the Sheriff and your best friend. You sprinted, tackling the boy, wrapping your arms around him as fast as you could. He gasped in shock before securing his arms around your waist in return.
“Are you okay? What happened? Why were you here so late anyways?” You had sent a rapid fire of questions towards him before he could even process your presence.
“Y/N, Y/N, I’m fine, just trying to comprehend the whole thing,” you nodded sitting next to him on the edge of the ambulance. Sheriff patted his son’s shoulder, “I’ll give you two a moment.” He walked over to his group of deputies, clearly in destress about his son. You two were now surrounded by silence, you had no idea what to say. Scott had told you that he mentioned everything you were worried about to Stiles but since Derek and 'The Clash of the Werewolves' had happened later that afternoon, you two never actually got to talk about it.
“I’m sorry,” you both turned to each other apologizing simultaneously, you chuckled at your inability to have decent timing.
“You first,” you offered which he took, “I’m sorry, about everything, how I made you feel, ignoring you, everything. It wasn’t fair to you.” He had grabbed your hand, squeezing it in anticipation. You nodded, “It’s okay, I’m sorry for how I acted, I shouldn’t be upset at the fact that you care for someone other than me and Scott.”
“It’s okay.” You both smiled at each other, it was nice to be back to normal, even if it was only for a split second.
“Scott told me, you know.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “About what?”
“About your crushy wushy on Isaac,” Stiles smirked keeping his eyes forward.
“Shut up! I do not have a crush on Isaac!”
Stiles chuckled, “Fine, fine.” He took a small beat before continuing, “But you do have a crushy wushy on him.”
You punched him in the shoulder and when you got a groan of dissatisfaction you smiled, “Okay you got me there.”
He looked at you and you both took a moment to just laugh at yourselves. You were still able to joke around at a time like this, at least that meant you guys still had some trace of the plain ole teenagers you used to be. You tapped his shoulder, catching his attention, you pointed to Roscoe, “Do you want to get out of here now?”
He gave you a disappointed shake of his head, “Can’t, Dad said they have to keep it for evidence.”
“Damn, guess we better call Scott or we’ll be stuck here, huh?”
You called Scott and apparently it wasn’t his night either, Allison hadn’t been able to show up, but he had assure you that he would be there as soon as he could. “Scott’s coming, Allison didn’t show for their meet up. Why does it feel like everything is falling apart?”
“Because it is,” Stiles sighed.
“Fair... Hey so what exactly happened in there?”
“So much.”
Stiles took the time to fill you in on what he had just witnessed while you guys waited for Scott. It would be impossible to believe for anyone else but at this rate you could never hear anything surprising anymore. Scott had finally shown up, allowing you guys to get in and get out of the cold.
“You okay?” Scott asked softly, to which Stiles gave a slight nod, “Yeah, you’re right. It’s not like you. I mean, it’s eyes were almost, like, reptilian.” Stiles took a small breath, “But there was something about them.”
You tilted your head, he didn’t mention anything like that. “What do you mean?” Scott asked.
“You know when you see, like, a friend in a Halloween mask, but all you can actually see are their eyes, and you feel like know, but you just can’t figure out who it is?” You grasped the sides of the front seats and launched yourself forward to stick yourself in the middle, “Wait you didn’t tell me any of this.”
“Are you saying you know who it is?” asked Scott.
“No, but I think it knew me.”
~
The next morning, you got up as fast as you could. You were on a mission today, Deaton had said he could tell you more about what you are and you were determined to get it out of him. You wanted to know. No. You needed to know, you needed to learn to control whatever is it. To understand what you are, who are you.
When you made it to the clinic, you saw the closed sign. However, you knew Deaton always came in earlier on the weekends to get more paperwork related things done and you were right. His car was sitting outside the employee entrance. You took your chances on the door being opened and of course it was locked, luckily you lived with the boy who worked there and that same boy always left his key on the front door table. You scrambled through your bag and grabbed the key, unlocking the front door, you entered.
“Deaton?”
The man, rounded the corner, a very obvious confused expression sat on his face, “Y/N, nice to see you, how did you get in?” You sheepishly raised your hand holding the shiny key, “Your employee has a very bad habit of leaving this in the key dish.” He breathed a light chuckle, “Okay well, what can I do for you?”
“I want to know Deaton. I want to know what I am. I need to know how to control it.”
He gave a warm smile, “Well I think I can provide some very useful information, come on, let’s talk.” He gestured for you to follow him and you did just that, slowly you could feel the nerves start to bubble up. This was it, all the questions, all the worries, they were going to be answered. Once and for all you could get rid of this internal struggle. Then maybe you could start to be of use.
“Okay well let’s start with the simplest of the questions you probably have, what are you, but to understand what you are you have to first know the whole story.” You gave an unsure nod, “Okay, how do I learn the story?”
He pointed, turning around to a cabinet and grabbing a book from inside, “You let me tell you, now I know it may seem silly but knowing everything in the end, will allow you better control. It will allow you to push your limits without breaking yourself.” He placed the book on the table, you swore you saw a small cloud of dust puff out from under it when it hit the surface. Deaton had flipped to a page, almost like he knew by heart where to go.
“You see in the world of the supernatural, there is this constant fight for balance. Good versus evil, predator versus prey, brute force versus strategy, and with that comes the ones who are given the responsibility to maintain that balance. Some give guidance, some protect and fight along side, and some stand alone pushing back either side when it becomes too much. You happen to be of the second group.”
You took a moment to process, “Okay, what else?”
“Well in each group, you will typically see unique qualities now some can and will overlap but the important distinction of each is what will show you the path in the world you will take. Now the ones who give guidance, they are like me, someone with a foot in the supernatural door way but still human. They are people who have tapped into the lines of the power the supernatural provide but it doesn’t necessarily run through their veins. The ones who stand alone, these are species whose only purpose is to oversee the supernatural, to maintain it’s balance and to even protect the secret of their world.” He took a pause before glancing over at you, noticing your intense stare at the pages in front of you, he smiled and continued.
“This last category is the one that’s pretty special, now while you might find that some who provide guidance will also take part in packs, it is not necessary. You, however, are part of the ones who are commonly drawn to packs, like betas and omegas, and grow stronger through pack bonds, like alphas. This is because, like Scott, your supernatural power runs through your veins; bitten or born, once you are supernatural it is biologically apart of you. This is why your eyes glow just as Scott’s and Derek’s do. Meaning you have to learn control just like they do.”
For the first time since the beginning of the lecture you spoke up, “So that’s why when I get, let’s say, angry I could make the locker doors in the hallway open and shut.”
He tapped the table proudly, “Precisely. It’s almost similar to instinct. Now let’s talk more about you specifically. You’re familiar with mythical creatures like fairies, correct?”
You snorted, “You’re kidding, right?” When you saw no change it his expression, yours dropped, “Are you trying to tell me I’m gonna sprout wings?” He laughed lightly and shook his head, “No, no but like I said, you need to know your whole story.”
“Now before humans became the overwhelming populated race, the supernatural was much more prominent. Meaning, yes fairies in the traditional sense did exist, however with time these creatures had to evolve to stay hidden, to stay protected. Creatures like pixies, became things that we would now call nature sprites, werewolves adapted to have the ability to shift between man and wolf, rather than staying in between the two states. Your species, Y/N, evolved from naturally having wings, ‘the fairies’ to what we would now call, ‘nymphs’.”
“So, what I’m hearing is two hundred centuries ago I would’ve had wings?” You joked trying to shake off the shock of the information.
“Possibly, yes.”
You laughed, “Okay, Doc, so how exactly do I go about all this?”
Deaton turned, once again grabbing a book from the same cabinet and facing you once more, “By learning, learning the spells and rituals of your people. Learning how your people coexisted with the other creatures will give you guidance on your purpose.”
You nodded, “Okay, can you teach me.”
“The basics, yes,” he assured, “however, after that it will be up to you. Unfortunately for you, you live in a time where nymphs no longer habitat specific regions, meaning you’ll have a lot of practicing on your shoulders.” You raised an eyebrow, “What do you mean?” He shrugged slightly, “Well back when nymphs first evolved they still only lived in certain areas, some were protectors of the mountains, some the forest, and some were specifically healers to help provide protection to the living creatures. Eventually, they came to merge as they found when the humans became the greater population in numbers, they needed every bit of knowledge to protect not only those around them but themselves as well.”
“Great so I have more homework because they decided they wanted to be overachievers. Well, when can we get started?”
He slid the book towards you, “How would now, work?”
You smiled, “Now, would be great, but two more questions before we get started.”
“All ears.”
"Well first, how did I become like this?"
"My best guess is that it's in your blood, nymphs typically don't see their power take full effect until adulthood however an outside force like an alpha can push that power to come forth sooner."
"Because I'm drawn to packs like betas and omegas?"
"Precisely, what was your another question?"
“When we were searching for Lydia and when Scott fought Derek, I felt my senses become blurry and dull then all at once, they sharpen, my sight was sharper, my hearing was clearer; do you know why that happened?”
“Actually, I may, it could’ve been your instincts taking over. Similar to how the full moon causes werewolves’ killer instinct to override their senses. May I ask what happened right before this happened?”
“Well with Lydia, it was when we were driving down the road, I know I felt a lot of anxiety when it happened and when it was over I felt like I could see where Lydia was. With Derek, he was choking Scott when I had panicked, my mind went into almost overdrive when my hands slammed the ground. It caused a ripple in the ice and then he was on the ground, an energy was holding him there by the neck.”
“Sounds like when your instinct took over, it casted spells out of desperation. With Lydia it must have been a tracing or tracking spell and with Derek it sounds like you casted a counter spell. Taking a force and deflecting the same amount back on them. I say we start with those since your body has already used them once.”
“Okay, yeah.” You took a pause, “Deaton?”
“Yes?”
“I want to learning the tracking spell first. I want to be able to find Isaac.”
~
“Okay, Y/N, the first thing you need to understand is that your senses become blurry to be able to connect to the supernatural energy that runs through the world naturally. This is because a tracking spell connects you to those energies to send you the information on who you’re looking for.”
You were standing in the middle of the room, shaking out your hands from nerves, “Okay, so what’s the first step?”
“You first need to learn how to connect to the energy that flows through the world. Close your eyes. Relax. Try to let your mind go blank.”
Releasing a jagged breath you did as instructed, “You might start to feel faint since you’re now consciously trying to tap into your power rather than letting instinct take over, through time this will effect you less and less.”
Just like he had described when you relaxed your breathing and could feel your body slowly release, you started to feel fuzzy, almost sick. You tried not to worry, you would be alright, just take it slowly. A buzzing sound could be heard, like the sound an old lightbulb makes. It kept getting louder. And louder. And louder. Until it stopped, complete and utter silence. “Now once you feel you are ready, and only when you feel ready, think about Isaac. Picture him, his figure, the color of his eyes, his hair, maybe even a clothing item he wears a lot. Whatever you connect to him should be in your head. If you are properly entwined with the world’s energy it’ll know exactly who or what you’re looking for. And it will show you.”
All you could do was nod, afraid that too much movement would break your concentration and you did exactly what Deaton said. You pictured him. His beautiful curly hair, his soft blue eyes, his lacrosse jersey, his slightly awkward pre-wolf demeanor, his small laugh. Everything you thought of made you feel clearer and clearer, it was working. Then suddenly...
You saw his house, you were standing right at the front door. You looked around, everything looked normal and it felt so real. Except for one thing, in the distance there was a slight glow. Pointing you down the street, so you followed it and when you stepped into the glow your location changed once again. This time it was dark and wet smelling, you could see stairs right next to you so you made the journey down and there he was. The tall boy you adored so much was right there talking with Derek, he looked stressed. You tried to make your way over to him but as you grew closer the image started to disappear and like nothing happened you were back at the clinic. Your eyes snapped open, no doubt glowing as you could feel the slight heat.
“I found him! He was right there!” You spun to face Deaton, who had a proud look on his face, you had done it. You had successfully casted your first spell, no doubt out of pure luck and guidance.
“Congratulations, you seem to be a natural. You might find that spells your body has casted out of instinct might inherently be easier, which will make for good practice. It’ll allow you to become familiar with the energies your body connects to and the natural power that runs inside you, but for now I think you need to take care of somethings, come back tomorrow.”
“Okay!” You wrapped your arms around the man, making him stumble out of surprise, “Thank you, thank you! See you tomorrow!” You grabbed your bag off the table and sprinted out the door towards the abandoned station, your squeals of excitement trailing just behind you.
~
You had made it to your destination, you really hadn’t thought about what you were going to do and now that you’ve made it, you still hadn't. You looked at the entrance of the station, you took a deep breath, it was now or never. You didn’t know what you were expecting but you definitely weren’t expecting to find Erica trying to devour Derek’s face.
“That’s the last time you do that.”
“Why because I’m a beta?” At this point you were at the middle of the stairs, crouching behind the railing. You might as well try listening in, until you were caught at least.
“No because I have someone else in mind for you.” What the hell was that suppose to mean?
“Are we done?” Your body froze, this was the first time you had heard his voice, his actual voice, not the fake attempt to be intimidating voice. “Cause I have about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal.”
From your very limited eyesight you could see Derek get down to Isaac’s level, grabbing his arm he snapped it. You felt yourself cringe at the sound, you could practically feel the fear radiating off the others in the room.
“You think I’m teaching you how to fight, huh? Look at me! I’m teaching you how to survive.” He dropped Isaac’s head, allowing him to crash back to the ground, “If they wanted us dead, why aren’t they coming for us now?” Isaac challenged his alpha, “What are they waiting for?”
“I don’t know. But they’re planning something, and you, especially, know that’s not our only problem.” You scoffed so he’s preparing them to survive by crushing their bones a thousand times over. Apparently he’s a worse teacher as an alpha than he was at a beta. “Whatever that thing is that killed Isaac’s father, I think it killed someone else last night. And until I find out what it is, you all need to learn everything I know, as fast as I could teach you.”
Now was the time for you to make yourself known if you were ever going to, tension was slightly better and Derek had stopped his rambunctious yelling. Plus you wanted to be able to shove in his face how much of an idiot he actually was and you couldn’t do that if he wasn’t in the room.
“Well doesn’t this seem to be the most exciting class ever?” You leaned forward against the railing, your elbow sat on the beam and your palm resting on your cheek. If there’s was one thing you were good at, it was playing it cool. You saw all four heads in the room shoot up in your direction, three had confused looks on their faces and one looked more irritated than before.
“What are you doing here, Y/N? How’d you find this place?” Derek questioned in his most famous stance, feet shoulder width apart and arms crossed. You hopped down the last few stairs using your grip on the bottom beam to playfully swing your body around the corner. You raised the book Deaton had given you, “Training but since I found my way here I figured ‘why not drop by and say hi’, pretty nice of me don’t you think?”
Even from a distance you could never miss the way Derek rolled his eyes, so dramatic, almost cartoonish. He had turned to leave the room but you spoke up again, “You know, me, Scott, and Stiles may not know everything there is to know about the supernatural world, I mean they barely know how to talk to girls without blacking out so what can you expect,” you shrugged, “but even so, you’d be very surprised on how much information we tend to find out. Such as what the creature actually is, well to be more accurate what it looks like and why it does what it does.”
That information definitely perked his attention, “Since when would you ever share information with me, you don’t trust me,” his eyes narrowed at you, analyzing your figure. You took a second to look at the trio of new betas and their expressions could almost make you laugh if it weren’t for the situation. They were so clearly astonished, like they couldn’t imagine anyone talking to their alpha like how you were. You huffed slightly before sitting on a spare create nearby.
“You’re completely right, I don’t trust you. In fact, I quite literally hate you. But the fact of the matter is, I don’t want to have to see them,” you pointed to the beta trio, who had jumped slightly at the sudden gesture toward them, “die because of you.”
“So if that means I have to swallow my pride, as much as it would so deeply pain me to do so, to willing you give you information because maybe, just maybe, it’ll save them from dying due to your stupidity… I’ll do it. Because they say they know what they signed up for but I know from experience, you definitely didn’t give them everything.” Silence. He knew you were right, he couldn’t argue with you even if he tried.
“Y/N-.”
“I’m not finished Derek Hale.”
“When I tell you the things I know, do you think for once, you could not be an insufferable prick?” You smirked and Derek gave you another narrowed look before silently walking away. You took the opportunity to slowly make your way to the trio, sitting back down on a different box. You gave a shy smile and a small wave, it was like you were a completely different person, it made the beta trio uneasy, “How have you guys been?” They stared at you clueless, none of them could comprehend your question, too thrown off by the situation. After some time, Boyd cleared his throat, “We’ve been okay.”
You nodded satisfied, “That’s good, I’m glad, we’ve been worried about you guys, you know?” Erica scoffed, “Oh yeah.”
“Of course, Scott doesn’t want to see you guys get hurt, none of us do. Did my whole spectacle back there not show that? I could go do it again for you guys. Derek’s pretty used to me yelling at him, I did it all last semester.” Isaac snorted, covering his face slightly when he realized it was a lot louder than he had anticipated. Erica gave you a sour look before she grabbed Boyd’s arm and the two walked away, towards their alpha.
You were now left with the boy that was your whole reasoning for being here. The air was suffocating to say the least, neither one of you could find the words to say. Your knee bounced from the nerves as you looked all around the room before sitting on the ground. “Don’t take Erica’s attitude too personal, she’s just a little hot headed from her rejection earlier.” You waved the boy off, “Yeah, I saw it, I don’t blame her, personally I’d dig my own grave if that happened to me.” Isaac smiled clearly amused by your imagination, “Like you would ever get rejected, people practically begged you to go with them to the winter formal, boys and girls.”
“Maybe, but I only wanted to go with one person and they never asked, so I guess I attract silent rejection,” you were testing the waters, to see if maybe he knew who you were talking about (him of course). “Really, who?” And failure. You shook your head, “It doesn’t matter, anyways, how are your bones coming along,” you joked.
“Never better, I would say.” What a liar, you could clearly see the fractures. “So, training, huh? What training were you getting?”
You pointed to your eyes and made them flash, “Learning how to control this.”
Another silence fell over you, definitely awkward and you didn’t know what to say next. Everything was different now, technically you guys were on different sides. That last time you saw each other he was throwing your best friend into machinery and you were sending his alpha into the ice. What were you supposed to say? You certainly didn’t know but maybe you should take this chance while you had it.
“Isaac?” His head turned to you, giving you all of his attention.
“I have to be honest, I like you, a lot. Okay, which is why I’m going to tell you exactly what I think. Plain in simple, I think you’re making a mistake being here with Derek. I don’t trust him and I never have. I don’t want to see you or the others get hurt. I care so much about you.”
There was a pause, you could tell he was taking it all in, processing everything you just said. His eyebrows furrowed almost like he was offended and you could tell this wasn’t about to be a good end to your conversation, “Frankly, I don’t need your advice. And you’re the ones that need to be careful.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Because I know you follow Scott around and if you guys get in the way Derek won’t hesitate to move you out of it.” You blinked slowly, in shock of what you were hearing. You knew you were taking a risk talking about this whole different sides thing but you were worried for him. You didn’t know what to expect but it certainly wasn’t a hostile answer. You grabbed your bag and stood from your spot on the ground, “Fine. It was you by the way.”
“What?”
“It was you that I wanted to go to the winter formal with.” you said turning you back away and making your way towards to the stairs. You knew you were just upset and you would regret your next sentence but at that moment you didn’t care, “You put one hand on Scott or Stiles and the next person breaking your bones won’t be Derek,” you flicked your head to the side, looking at him, flashing your eyes, “It’ll be me.”
~
After that horrendous weekend, you at least would be able to distract yourself by focusing on the weird lizard problem you had. You haven’t had the chance to tell either of the boys what you knew about yourself, mainly because you were so distracted over your talk turned argument with Isaac. However, you could entertain yourself with the free show you were receiving right now.
“I’m so sorry about the other day. I’m trying. We’ll get through this. I know because I love you.” You felt a giggle rip through your throat as you watched Stiles recite Allison’s words to Scott. You placed your textbook in front of your face to try and hide the soft laughs coming from you, Stiles had already pulled at your ears for laughing the last few times.
“I love you more than… Oh, my God! I can’t!” At this point your giggles had evolved into full blown explosions of laughter. “You and Allison just have to find a better way to communicate.”
“Come on!” Scott whined, “You and Y/n are the only ones we can trust. Is she coming to the game tonight?”
“Yes, okay? Message complete.”
“Hey, chill out Stiles, you know the risk of those two being seen together,” you tried to reason. His head whipped up at you, “You wanna try?” You raised your hands in defense, “I never said that, plus it was my turn the last time.” Stiles now brought his attention back to the boy next to him, “Alright, now tell me about your boss.”
“He thinks that Allison’s family keeps some kind of record of all the things that they’ve hunted. Like a book.”
“He probably means a bestiary.” You nodded in agreement with Stiles.
“A what?”
“A bestiary,” Stiles repeated and Scott had started to lightly chuckle, “I think you mean bestiality.” You felt your whole body dropped, he couldn’t be serious could he?
“No. He definitely means bestiary,” you deadpanned.
“It’s like an encyclopedia of mythical creatures.”
“How am I the only one that doesn’t seem to know anything about this stuff,” Scoff complained.
“Okay, you know, you guys are my best friends, you’re a creature of the night and she’s…” he took a pause pointing up at you before sighing dramatically, “we still don’t know what she’s is yet, but nonetheless, it’s kind of like a priority of mine.” You had completely forgotten to tell them that you knew. Well that’s awkward.
“Well actually, I talk to Deaton this weekend and I actually found out a lot, but this is more important so let’s focus on this for now,” you rambled slightly. They both looked at you with expecting looks before Scott started speaking, “Okay, we’re coming back to that for sure,” Stiles nodded in agreement, “But if we can find it, and it can tell us what this thing is..”
“And who.” You and Stiles said together.
“We need that book.”
~
“So you’re a nymph?” You nodded at the omega walking next to you, you guys were heading to your lockers, waiting for Stiles to show up.
“Yep, at least that’s what I’ve been told,” you confirmed. You reached your locker, opening it to grab your textbook for your next class. Scott doing the same. Unfortunately for him, Stiles slammed it closed, very clearly out of breath, “She says it has to be- office.” He exasperated, trying his best to catch his breath before taking off again down the hall.
You looked at Scott, “Is he talking about the bestiary?” The boy nodded in response, “Yeah, apparently Gerard has it in his office.”
You snapped, if you were a cartoon character you were sure you would have a lightbulb hovering over your head, “If Allison’s invites him to the game and she can swipe his keys, me or Stiles could go look for it in his office.” Scott had patted you on the shoulder excitedly, almost like a child.
“We just have to wait it out, now.”
Later that night, you guys were set up at the field the boys were getting geared up and you were stuck running last minute plays with Coach. The anxiety was already building up, especially because you had seen Boyd and Erica show up for the game earlier, which could only mean something was potentially at play.
You had been thinking about it since you had seen their sly smiles, they knew you had seen them. Erica especially made you uneasy but that was only because she always had that sultry look that you could just tell was very under practiced. Like she wanted to look like she had all the control in the world. Boyd just made you sad, the poor boy just wanted friends and Derek manipulated him. You couldn’t pick favorites anymore though, as of this weekend they were all on the other side. There was no trying to protect them when you had to protect your friends. Luckily you had the crashes of the game to distract you.
“Come on! Is that thing even a teenager? I wanna see a birth certificate!”
Your eyes focused back on the game, not like you had any choice with Coach screaming in your ear.
“Who or what is that genetic experiment gone wrong?” Coach had directed his question to Stiles and you.
“Eddie Obomowitz, Coach,” Stiles replied with a sigh. You leaned over your best friend slightly, “They call him ‘The Abomination’,” you finished as Stiles gave a shimmy for piazza.
“Oh, that’s cute.” Coach commented sarcastically before allowing his focus to move back to the game.
You looked to the bleachers towards where Allison and her grandfather were sitting. Allison’s head turned to Gerard and you could see her speaking, Gerard said something back while shrugging off his coat, handing it over to the girl. You smiled, she did it, you gave Stiles a pat on the shoulder. A silent marker to let him know everything was going well. You slowly made your way towards the pair in the stands, making sure to stay out of the elder man’s eyesight. Allison was dangling the keys over the side of the bench and you swiftly grabbed them from her. Now all you had to do was meet up with Stiles and you two could look for that damn book.
You jogged into the silent lot, seeing the spastic boy already looking for you, “Stiles,” you called. He turned to face you, his face going from relief to then frozen. He was looking behind you. Confused, you spun around only to see the same tall curly haired boy you had just argued with over the weekend. Without a thought you threw to keys at Stiles, “Go, I’ll take care of this.”
Stiles gave you an ‘are you sure look’ clearly concerned at the circumstances, “It’s fine, I’ll catch up.” He huffed before nodding and started his venture towards the school.
“What are you doing here Isaac?”
“I had to see you.”
"Okay, why?"
"To apologize and beg you to forgive me."
His words made your body relax but you didn't know what to say. You kept your arms wrapped around your figure, his eyes were practically burning into you.
"I'm giving you five minutes," he nodded rapidly, lightly placing his hand on your folded arms to guide you further from the lightpost. You looked at him strangely, "I still can't be seen in public, I am still technically a fugitive you know." You let him guide you away from the area that was being shined on by the light.
When you reach a spot he deemed adaquate, you could tell he was starting to get nervous, he rocked back and forth on his feet like a child.
"Okay, your five minutes are starting now," you huffed.
"Um, okay, well. First, I want to start by saying I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have said what I did, I don't even know why I said it. I really don't think I've gotten a hold of the whole rage induced behavior thing yet." There was a pause as he looked at you expectingly, when you gave him notion to keep going he began to speak once more.
"And I do appreciate that you care so much about me, no one ever has. I care about you too, you know and I don't want to see you get hurt." You gave him a questioning look not sure what he meant. "I just mean that you guys do need to be careful because Derek is dead set on fixing this the way he wants to, Erica and Boyd are also going to follow him no matter what and.." he started to stutter.
"And?"
"And I'm going to as well."
You sighed, "Isaac-."
"You can't change my mind (Y/N). I can't be an omega, I won't. But that's not the only thing I wanted to say."
You straighten your posture, "Okay what is it?" You saw him scratch at the back of his neck before he made eye contact with you, “I wanted to go with you too.”
You blinked, “What?”
“The winter formal. I wanted to go with you too, I just couldn’t work up the nerve to ask you.” You felt yourself smile and you were sure you looked like the cheshire cat at this point, “You did?” He nodded immediately in response, “Of course, you’re you, why wouldn’t I want to go with you?”
After that you couldn’t be sure how much time had passed, you two talked for a while. At some point you even slipped your hand into his, while you guys sat on curb. You guys both were unfortunately interrupted by a loud crash of glass. Your head whipped towards the school, looking back at Isaac who just shrugged, you motioned him off, “You can’t risk being seen, go, I’ll go see what’s going on.”
“(Y/n)-.”
“Go, Isaac!” You demanded already making your way to the school. When you got inside you saw Stiles and Derek on the side of the pool, Erica on the ground and Scott, transformed, holding a shard of mirror. Another crash could be heard this time from the creature escaping into the night.

wild and free by Winchesterek
“Are you kidding me?” Stiles asked, looking out at the beautiful waterfalls cascading into the lake in front of them.
The water shimmered shades of green and blue, which looked like emeralds and malachite glistening in the sun. The spray of the waterfall floated through the air, a cool mist clinging to their skin, making Stiles feel sticky. It looked wild and overgrown, the foliage lush and leafy, clinging to the rocks around them.
When he looked back at Derek, his skin was slick with sweat and water, making Stiles want to lick and suck his salty skin. Derek turned to smile at him and it warmed Stiles’ heart, loving how happy Derek looked.
“Just one of the most beautiful places in Croatia, Plitvice Lakes,” Derek replied, reaching out to take Sitles’ hand. “Come on. We can make it down to the water and enjoy it for a little while before we have to head back.”
“Well, we can't stay because I didn't bring my pillow,” Stiles added with a chuckle. “You know I can't sleep without it.”
“Good thing I don't plan on camping out here, then. I know I can make sure that we don't get caught, but I wanna take you somewhere nice for dinner. It’ll take us about two hours to get back to the city so we should leave before the sun goes down.”
“Good thing we got here bright and early, then.” Stiles walked along with Derek carefully and descended along the path to the water, slowly climbing over slippery rocks.
Stiles wasn't sure if this was the beautifulest place he’d ever seen, because they’d been to so many places that were so beautiful that Stiles had a hard time believing that they were real. Like Elafonisi Beach, where they’d spent a week exploring Greece and bathing in the sun. Derek’s skin was beautiful and sunkissed, while Stiles looked a little bit like a lobster for a week afterward until it turned into a light tan.
Once they were down to the water, Stiles grinned as he watched Derek strip his shirt off and toss it onto the ground on top of their bags. He openly ogled his mate, knowing that Derek could scent his arousal and he smirked as Derek unnecessarily flexed for him, but acted like it was a casual action.
Stiles stripped down to his swim shorts and carefully walked across the rocks to the bank next to Derek. “Wow…the water is so clear.”
It was unimaginable to Stiles that water could be so clear, but they’d seen oceans just as clear when they sailed around the world together. “Oh, look! Fish!” Stiles pointed and Derek smiled.
“I’m sure they’ll leave us alone when we’re in the water. Come on, let’s get in!” Derek waded into the lake first while Stiles watched him skeptically.
“There isn't anything in there that will eat me, is there?” Stiles tried to look further into the water, but it was too far away for him to see much with his puny human eyesight.
“Nothing’s going to eat you, Stiles. I’ll protect you.” Derek dipped his head back into the water and ran his hands through his hair when he was upright again. “Get in here!”
“How are you sure?! You can't see all the way over there!” Stiles said, pointing.
“Really? Get in the water, Stiles. This isn't even salt water. There are no large predators in the water here,” Derek promised with an amused look, sighing. “Get in the water! You’re more likely to run into a bear out there than anything happening to you in here. Or step on a snake.”
Stiles looked around the forest and the ground before hurrying into the water. “Why didn't you tell me there were bears! I don't even have anything to protect myself with.”
Derek laughed, wrapping his arms around Stiles when he reached him. “You have me. I’m not going to let anything happen to you. I promise.”
“You better not,” Stiles replied, wrapping his arms around Derek and drawing him in close. “Because then you’re gonna be all alone on that sailboat. What on earth would you do without me?”
“Regret all my life choices,” Derek joked, but Stiles could tell that he was being serious. “You know I couldn't go on without you. If it’s the last thing I do, it’ll always be to protect you.”
“You know I feel the same way, Derek.” Stiles' voice was soft and almost a whisper, his hand moving to cup Derek’s cheek.
The last thing he wanted to do was make Derek think about losing him. It was why he’d left with Derek to begin with, because of his injury on the job. Unfortunately, Stiles’ brain-to-mouth filter didn't always work.
And Stiles knew that he was Derek’s anchor, just as much as Derek was Stiles’. Or, well, if he was a werewolf. As much as an anchor that Derek could be for Stiles being human.
“We’ll be okay,” Derek promised, kissing Stiles tenderly. “I’ll race you to the other side,” Derek added when they parted, then laughed and dunked Stiles under the water before taking off.
Stiles sputtered as he came up, shaking the water from his face.
“Not! Fair!” Stiles shouted after Derek. “And you can't use your werewolf speed!”
But Derek was almost already at the other end of the small lake as Stiles ran his hands through his hair.
He smiled, the hot sun shining down on them and warming his skin, the cool clear water rippling around him.
This was their life. Traveling the world and being together.
It was all that Stiles ever wanted, just him and Derek and a world full of possibilities.
He dove into the water, knowing that he’d never win or catch up to Derek. But Stiles was perfectly fine with that because Derek would make it up to him later, sprawled out in the sailboat cabin, taking him apart until Stiles couldn't feel his toes and he was warm all over.
Croatia was going to become one of his favorite places in the world, full of memories.
Of him and Derek. Happy and free.

I'm really not an exclusive Sterek shipper like I want both Stiles and Derek to be happy either together romantically or both of them having super caring girlfriends with Sterek being platonic soulmates. But with all the Sterek fix it fics right now, I can't, it's just making me too emotional to feel anything right now.
And with Stydia, like they built six seasons which is basically the whole show and they made them break up in the most stupidest horrible way possible like Stiles wouldn't put up a fight to salvage/save the relationship.
Stydia fans had it hard but Sterek fans are inconsolable right now.
“That remains to be seen, although some part of the fandom would say he doesn’t have a mother,” Davis says.
I really hate Jeff Davis. What is with his answer about Eli might not have a mother. Which part of the fandom would agree to it. Does he mean Sterek fans. Like how they headcanon that Sterek are raising Eli together. If that's what he meant, it's a real low blow for keeping it so vague.
Give us Sterek or not.
I feel like they purposely, knowingly put the scene of Derek's feelings towards Jeep so that they can baitswitch Sterek fans because only with this one dialogue hundreds of memes are spread and many including me would be tempted to watch the movie in the hope of more Sterek crumbs. And now with his answer about Eli's mother, man he really is the worst.
Whether you are a shipper or not, you have to agree that Jeff Davis is the worst for teasing, bait switching the Sterek fans and then kinda saying fuck you guys to all the Sterek fans, Stydia fans, Stiles' fans, Derek's fans, Isaac's and Kira's fans and so so many others which I'm gonna rant in another post.

******
Being a teacher is the only thing you ever wanted to do. Even when you had a rough patch in your teens and ended up homeless, it was still your dream. So when you came to Beacon Hills, after finally getting your teaching degree, you couldn’t have been more ecstatic... Except you soon found out why there were so many openings to jobs in this town.
Being startled by a giant beast that oozes black smoke can seriously make a person question their life choices. According to a few rumours, this wasn’t the first strange thing that had happened. However, as a teacher for some reason, your only concern was that a bunch of kids seemed to be at the centre of all of it.
Soon enough you’d manage to find yourself in the pack, as their favourite go-to teacher when they need to leave for a supernatural crisis. You soon became quite close to everyone, even Stiles. Who quite naturally didn’t trust you at all when you came to town.
However, after La Bête you and he were quite close. A lot like a brother and sister but that didn’t stop the boy sending you flirty comments as a joke.
“Come on, Y/N, you know you love me!” Stiles whined as he wrapped his arms around your waist and started to sway you back and forth.
“Mieczyslaw Stilinski, I suggest you get your hands off Y/N before I shoved this spatula up your god damn ass.” Derek snapped as he pointed the spatula directly at Stiles.
“Aww, don’t be jealous, Der Bear! I love you more!” Stiles chuckled sarcastically as he pranced over to Derek. You let out a snort before continuing to get out a bowl for your cereal.
It was pack night the previous night so you were all cramped in Derek’s loft, that didn’t seem to bother anyone. It was now Monday and everyone was rushing to get ready. You usually drove Scott or Stiles to school depending on if Stiles bring his jeep.
“Oh, have you two finally got your act together?” Peter chuckled as he strolled into the kitchen with a smirk.
You let out a sigh before shaking your head at him letting him know the two were just flirting and nothing more. He rolled his eyes before pressing a kiss to your temple which caused you to smile down at your cereal.
“Dad, can you please not kiss in front of me. It’s gross.” Malia groaned as she walked into the room with a disgusted face.
“Malia, it was hardly explicit. I kissed my lover on the head it’s hardly anything to cringe about.” Peter sighed his fatherly tone shining through.
“Ew. Don’t say the word 'lover' either. What century do you live in?” Malia gagged as Stiles laughed into Derek back.
“I quite like the fact your father calls me lover. It feels more mature and intimate.” You snorted playfully earning a chuckle from Scott who was dragging a very sleepy Liam and Mason behind him.
“Lover is a term a lot of older wolfs use.” Derek laughed as Stiles pulled away to look at him with wide eyes. Suddenly every wolf in the room sniffed the room and started groaning minus Peter who looked a little smug whereas Derek just looked shocked.
“Oh, come on, can we at least try and pretend we didn’t just smell that!” Stiles huffed his cheeks flushing softly.
“Did you just pop a boner from Derek saying the word lover?” You laughed as you placed your now empty bowl in the sink.
“Oh, come on! Am I that obvious!?” Stiles huffed before pouring some coffee into a flask and storming out of the loft with a pout.
*****
You watched as the seniors poured into your class. Scott, Stiles, Lydia and Malia were already sat down which made you laugh because every teacher in the school never understood why they came early to your class, that is +until you carefully explained that you were close to the Sheriff and were also dating the uncle of Stiles’ boyfriend. Though Stiles didn’t know that you’d told the teachers that.
You slipped your cardigan off before making your way to your desk. Before you could open your mouth a student spoke up causing you to groan.
“Yes, Luke?” You huffed, your hands coming to rest on your hips as you impatiently waited for his question.
“Teach, either your seriously one kinky bitch or you need to join the emo clique because those are beyond gross.” He snorted as he stared at your arms.
Before you could retaliate or even think about his words, Stiles was out his seat and throwing Luke against a wall, holding him there by his throat. You ran over to the pair careful not to trip over in your heels before hitting Stiles’ back. Scott was out his seat and holding you back in seconds.
“Stiles, let him go!” You snapped as you tried to struggle against Scott’s grip.
“If you EVER talk to her like that again I will find you and I will beat you so bad you’ll be begging for death! Do you understand!?” Stiles screamed, the deepness of his voice shocking a few of the other classmates.
“Why, did I upset your little girlfriend?” Stiles laughed at the boy’s response before looking into the boy's eyes, so coldly it sent visible shivers down his spine.
“I SAID! Do. YOU. Understand?” Stiles growled causing the boy's eyes to widen.
“Y-Yes!” Luke stuttered softly before Stiles finally let him go. You looked at Stiles as he turned around ignoring the boy who was now sitting on the floor catching his breath.
“If a little brother can’t protect his sister what kind of man would I be?” Stiles laughed before ruffling your hair gently.
“I-Idiot. I’m gonna have to give you detention now…” You sniffled as you wiped away the tears that had fallen.
****
You sat in your car outside of your apartment, staring down at the scars with hatred. You wished they were gone. You hated that you always had to hide your arms like some sort of innocent girl who goes to an all-girls Catholic school.
Luke’s words kept running through your head. Despite the fact that his words were childish, they still hit a nerve within you. Peter knew and had seen your scars but he had always told you to never cover them because it was a reminder that I was stronger than some. That I had gotten through something most people couldn’t even dream of. However, that didn’t stop your tears that began falling down your face.
You weren’t sure how long you sat there crying but when someone opened the door and you got hit with the scent of Peter’s favourite cologne. You knew you had to of been sat there for at least an hour.
“Woah, baby, what’s the matter?” Peter asked softly as he picked you up and locked your car.
“N-Nothing.” You sobbed as you clung to him tightly.
“Sweetheart, you finished school over an hour ago and you look like you haven’t moved in at least that long. Your make up is all over your face and most of all you’re crying.” Peter sighed sadly as he carried you into your apartment with ease.
“Oh, j-just another thing that makes me l-look gross.” You cried out as you wiped at your face furiously.
“Who the hell said you were gross!?” Peter asked angrily, his eyes flashing blue as he stared down at you.
“N-No one.” You knew even if he wasn’t supernatural he’d know that was a lie but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
“I’m calling Stiles.” Peter huffed angrily.
You shot out your seat and tried to grab his phone but he held you back as gently as he could. The phone rang twice before Stiles picked up, his voice calm as if he knew why Peter was calling. Peter glanced at you as he asked what happened today.
‘A student said something about her scars.’ Stiles answered sadly.
“What did they say?!” Peter growled viciously.
‘That she must either be a kinky bitch or belonged in the emo clique because her scars were gross.’ Stile huffed his anger matching Peter’s
“What’s his name?” Peter snarled
‘I handled it, don’t worry.’ Stiles replied calmly.
“Thank you, Stiles.” Peter muttered in a soft tone that he only ever reserved for you before hanging up.
He turned to you with a frown before picking you up and carrying you to the bathroom. His body was warm and inviting as usual, but for some reason, you couldn't bring yourself to relax into it. You felt like you didn't deserve it.
He placed you on the counter next to the sink before walking to the bathtub and turning the taps on. He was quiet which wasn't alarming because as much as Peter was sarcastic he enjoyed the quiet.
He put one of the many lush bath bombs he’d bought you into the water before turning to the small makeup area you had on the opposite side of the sink.
He picked up the packet of makeup removal wipes and moved back towards you, whilst taking one out. He reached towards your makeup smeared face and began wiping away the evidence of your minor break down.
After another wipe was used your face was clear if makeup and the bath was done running. He stripped off the rest of your clothes along with his before picking you up and placing you in the bath.
You moved forward silently so he could get in behind you. Once he was sat down he gathered up your hair and tied it into a messy bun so it wouldn’t get wet. It was amazing how he knew your daily routine. How he knew you didn’t wash your hair every day or how you used makeup removal wipes to remove your makeup but you still washed your face.
He was beyond the perfect partner which is why you knew now that you were settled into the bath a conversation was about to happen. Whether you liked it or not.
“You know your scars are not ‘gross’ right?” Peter muttered against your shoulder before pressing a soft kiss against your skin.
‘No, I don’t know that.’ You thought bitterly.
“Y-Yeah.” You lied despite knowing lying to a werewolf was useless.
“Why don’t we try that again?” Peter sighed sadly as he picked up your exfoliating gloves. Usually, you would’ve laughed at the sight of the great Peter Hale wearing baby pink exfoliating gloves but right now you couldn’t bring yourself to laugh.
“You are not gross. Your scars are not gross. Nothing about you is gross.” Peter muttered as he rubbed your usual body wash into the gloves.
He began rubbing the gloves over your body with just the right amount of pressure so it didn’t hurt, yet still left a slight tingling feeling on your skin. After finishing your arms he moved onto your back when finally he spoke up again.
“I will tell you again. Your scars are proof  that you are a survivor.” He muttered as he continued scrubbing your back.
“They’re self-inflicted.” You hissed bitterly causing him to stop all movements.
“That means nothing to me.” He scolded before continuing his circular motions.
“What do werewolves do to regain control if they can’t anchor it?” Peter asked gently.
“T-That depends o-”
“What do they do, Y/N?” Peter interrupted his tone leaving no room for avoidance.
“T-They hurt themselves…” You muttered quietly.
“Pain makes you human. Self-harm is different for everyone. Some do it for release, others for it to ground them. But…” Peter muttered as he began scrubbing your chest with slightly lighter circles this time.
“…Everyone deals with things differently self-harm involved or not.” He sighed quietly as he started on your legs.
“Some go insane and kill their niece to enact vengeance.” Peter.
“Some bury it until they become sour and hateful towards everyone.” Derek.
“And others lean on friends and move on in a healthy way.” Scott.
By the time he’d made his point your whole body had been washed leaving you clean and feeling slightly better about the day’s events. You knew this conversation wasn’t over by a long shot but at least now you felt willing to listen.
After Peter washed himself with his own sponge he rinsed you both off and picked you up to help you out the bath. Once he set you on your feet you wobbled a little before righting yourself. He walked towards your makeup area and picked up your toner and moisturizer before moving back to you once again.
He used a cotton pad to apply the toner gently all over your face. You almost laughed at how sweetly domestic the scene was but you couldn’t quite bring yourself to just yet, instead you settled for a sad smile as he waited for the toner to dry.
Once he finished putting your moisturizer on, he dried you off then wrapped the towel around you. You followed him to the bedroom silently waiting for his next words but as you came to a stop in front of him, words were clearly not how he was going to proceed.
You let you towel fall as he picked you up and placed you on the end of the bed carefully, before kneeling down in front of you and proceeding to kiss up your smooth legs.
His movements were slow and loving causing your breath to stutter. Your eyes never left his, until he finally reached the scars on your thighs which evidently made you avert your eyes.
Most people didn't know about the scars on your thighs. Mostly because after a 'conversation' with your parents about how they'd force you to get help if they saw anymore, you'd decided to switch to a less noticeable place.
When his lips finally pressed against your scars your breathing stop for a second before you finally forced yourself to look. When your eyes looked down Peter's were staring straight back at you with so much love and affection it almost made you whimper.
As he continued kissing up your body you let out a soft moan. He skipped past your core which usually would be a form of playful torment. However, right now, you knew this wasn't about pleasure. It was about reassurance that no matter what, this man would love you.
As he moved to your arms his eyes flicked back to yours making sure your eyes had not once again averted. When he was happy they hadn't he continued placing soft wet kisses against the scars.
You finally released the breathless whimper you'd been holding back causing Peter’s eyes to search your face for any signs of sadness. You knew he could use his wolf senses to tell how you were feeling but he didn't like intruding on your personal emotions.
As he kissed you shoulder you finally gave in and cupped his face gently before pressing a soft chaste kiss on his lips. His lips were soft yet slightly swollen from all the kisses but you didn't care.
When you pulled away your eyes searched his to see if any pity was reflected but all you saw was determination, love and the slightest bit of lust.
“You are beautiful inside and out. And I would not change one thing about you.” He whispered against your lips.
Your E/C eyes teared up as they stared into the ocean blue ones that were your lover’s. This was the man who had his entire family ripped away from him. The man that went insane and came back from the dead.
But most of all...
This was the man you loved.
“Make love to me.” You whispered brokenly. He gave you a small nod before standing up and moving you further onto the bed. You laid down opening your arms and separating your legs so he could situate between them.
Once he was within reach you wrapped your arms around him tightly. He leant down at the same time pressing his lips to yours in a slow yet passionate kiss.
He licked along your bottom lip before pushing his tongue past your lips and twisting it with yours. Unlike most of your kisses this one wasn’t a fight for dominance it was a fight for understanding. His hands caressed your body so desperately yet tenderly it was like it was the last thing he'd ever do. You were panting against his lips as he pulled away slightly, his eyes boring into yours.
His hand made it to your sex which you knew despite the lack of your usual heavy foreplay was dripping wet. He brushed his middle finger down the centre of it causing you to gasp and him to groan in satisfaction at the wetness he felt.
When he pushed two fingers into you, you couldn't help the filthy moan that escaped your lips. As his finger began thrusting in and out of your heat.
The steady string of moans leaving your mouth was causing Peter’s breathing to deepen as he kept his steady pace. He scissored his fingers inside of you gently stretching you out.
After a few minutes, he pulled out his fingers and slid three in this time. You clung to his shoulders your light pink nails digging into his back as you attempted to ground yourself. When you couldn't take it anymore you clenched around him letting him know you were close. He pulled his fingers out earning himself a whimper from you.
“Please, Peter...I-I need you inside me.” You pleaded desperately as he let you catch your breath.
“Okay, my love.” He replied, his voice tender as he caressed your cheek with his other hand.
He lined himself up with your entrance before giving you a careful look. His eyes stared into your as he pushed inside of you slowly.
In your younger years before you met Peter, you always found staring into your partner's eyes awkward and uncomfortable but after you fell in love with Peter that changed. Yet suddenly it was no longer awkward but a way to convey your love for the other person. It made you feel closer to Peter than you had anyone in your entire life. And to you that meant something.
“Peter..” You moaned as your back arched causing your breasts to push against his chest.
“I've got you, baby.” He whispered as he started moving in and out of your tight heat. His thrusts calculated and slow as his forearm supported his weight next to the right side of your head, his hand entangled in your hair as the other cupped your face gently.
Every thrust he made had you panting a moaning against his lips. His hot breathe mingling with yours as he finally started letting out husky groans of pleasure.
Every sound of ecstasy he made only served to push you closer to the edge. Your body pressed so close to his as you cling to him for dear life.
“P-Peter... ‘M close.” You stuttered against his lips.
“Me t-too, my love.” He groaned as his eyes flashed blue and his thrust became uncalculated.
He moved the hand from your cheek between you and proceeded to press a finger to your clit. He barely circled the bundle of nerves twice before you were moaning out his name in release. He thrust a few more times as you clenched around him before he poured his seed inside you. Your name slipping past his lips as he came.
After a minute he pulled out and moved to the bathroom. He came back with a washcloth and a hairbrush which caused you to chuckle softly, your voice still wrecked from all the moaning. He wiped you down before sitting you up and untying you hair. He brushed through the waves before sitting behind you and concentrating on braiding your hair so it would be wavy for tomorrow as well.
Once he was done, he pulled you both under the covers able you lay on his chest.
“I love you.” You mumbled against his right peck before pressing a soft kiss there.
“I love you too, Y/N.”

Can you tell us about How to Breathe 101?
Ah yes, the one I am actively, actually most trying to finish (before I got distracted by this week's fullmoonficlet prompt anyway). It's one of my favorite genres in fiction and in this specific fandom it's: Stiles fell first, but Derek fell harder.
It was originally just going to be a short fic about Derek learning to breathe in harmony with his pack. Since panic attacks are so woven into TW via Stiles, I kind of wanted to explore Derek having these kind of slow motion ones. Not necessarily because he wants to be alone but because that's what he knows, that's what he's gotten comfortable with, and holy shit there are so many people depending on him now, relying on him, and actually wanting to be in his space and how does he both accept that and allow himself to rely on that when he knows how transitory everything is?
I really, REALLY love when people miss their window - or, more accurately, perceive themselves to've missed their window and are now pining for someone they know once loved them. Inject that shit directly into my VEINS, please!
The plan was to have a much shorter progression but then I added in a more mage-y magic Stiles, with his power connected to growth and potential and blossoming (because no one can accuse me of being subtle LOL), and gave him an OC love interest so there was a distraction from any possible festering - I really didn't want Stiles to have even a hint of bitterness and that was a good way to be like: don't focus on the pit of despair, have casual sex! And also a good way to get across that Derek's love isn't possessive but rather focused around Stiles' happiness, which is always a big one for me (which is not to say I don't love jealous/possessive stuff, I DO, but sometimes that's just not what ya want). Then I set Stiles' magical edification in Ireland and got distracted with the wind over the bluffs and the sea crumbling cliffs and all that wild, fresh air there is to breathe and that's where I am at the moment.
Snippet:
Stiles takes him up over the bluff, fingers trailing currents as they walk, and they can see the cottage in the distance.  A dilapidated daffodil yellow and foggy gray (once white) thing that looks uninhabited.  It’s hilly terrain but clear as far as the eye can see.  The grass is buffeted up against their calves by the relentless wind and they can hear the ocean even if they can’t see it from where they are. “It’s beautiful,” Derek says. Stiles breathes deep.  “Magic, right?”  He throws a wink over his shoulder before holding out his hands, palm parallel to the ground on either side of him, and closes his eyes.  The long blades of grass shift and swirl and shoot up and up and up, getting larger and wider and greener as they grow, striving to tickle Stiles’ fingers as they pass his knees and hips.  They keep going until Derek has to tilt his head back and the strands twist at the apex above their heads and Derek can’t help the startled sound he makes as the tunnel forms, extending further with every step Stiles takes. The grass doesn’t stay static either, it’s still rustling, braiding itself together, sliding into every empty place, forming an arch above them.  The day darkens around them as they’re sealed off from above. Derek stares, first at the living thing surrounding them, and then at the man in front of him. “I had no idea you were capable of this.” “Neither did I.”  Stiles half-laughs.  “I don’t think Maire or Ciaran did either.  Honestly, I think it freaks them both out a little so, y’know, discretion?  I’ve been trying to do that whole thing.  Cutting back on it a little, pretending everything’s a bit harder, doing a little less than I’m actually capable of.  Not that—I mean, they’re supportive and all but I get the feeling this is new and therefore different for them.”  He drops his hands and the grass unbraids, slithering, sinking back down into the earth as though it was never anything else.  He’s not looking at Derek.  “It’s nice not to have to hedge.” He waits a beat then waggles his eyebrows over the pun and Derek rolls his eyes.
Wip list is here!

Words Aren't Necessary
Tumblr media
Written for Meta May Monday 2024's prompt: Pack.
I enjoyed Teen Wolf The Movie, all-in-all. Like any piece of media, there were things I wanted that I didn't get and things that I felt should have happened that didn't. Now, while there are things I didn't want and things that I feel shouldn't have happened, for me it is always beneficial to examine the media closely and answer the question, why did they do that?
One of the things that displeased me initially was the appearance of distance between Liam and Scott. (And the absence of Hayden, but if I talk about that, I'll never get to my point). Liam and Scott didn't have a real conversation in the movie beyond a few shouted instructions at each other. Yes, part of the reason for this was trying to fit a whole story into a little over two hours, but they could have at least had a moment together.
However, looking back over time, I had an epiphany. Perhaps that wasn't an oversight but a conscious decision. I decided to look at their relationship in the movie within the context of the show, and I concluded that this was not just a production necessity but -- especially in the light of the "Scott roars and the pack's eyes light up" scene -- a conscious decision. Perhaps words aren't necessary to reaffirm the bond between alpha and beta.
I will explore this by looking at their relationship in the movie and comparing it with two different scenes: the opening when the possessed wolf comes onto the lacrosse field in Said the Spider to the Fly (6x01) and the scene between Derek and three of his betas in Restraint (3x07).
When the movie starts, Scott is in Los Angeles, and he tells Chris that he hasn't been back in Beacon Hills for a long time. Liam lives and works with Hikari in a place that could very well be on the other side of the world but was never specified. Scott and Liam are both drawn to Beacon Hills for different reasons, yet at first, they don't seem to have had much to do with each other. When they do meet up, there are clues that they haven't become strangers. Scott may be surprised to see Liam, but then again Liam was living far away. On the other hand, Liam doesn't have to introduce Hikari. Liam doesn't have to explain the reasons why he and Hikari would come here. Scott can give Liam instructions immediately, and there's no push back. They work together without any of the necessary establishing scenes that people who have lost track of each other would need. I point out that this is also true for Derek, Lydia, and Malia. Malia and Scott have issues, but even so, it doesn't stop them from working together; it doesn't even make it more difficult. Malia tries to tell Lydia that she missed her, which Lydia gently rebuffs, but that's set to the side.
In fact, the person that Scott must talk to the most is Allison, bewitched by the nogitsune. He establishes motive, explains decisions, and seeks to build trust. Melissa tells Scott that it's important to help her remember who she was. Allison was pack. Just like Liam, just like Derek, just like Lydia and Malia.
Now, a possible counter argument is that this was just made to cut down on exposition in the movie due to time requirements, but I feel there are many scenes (especially between Stiles and Scott, but I'm not going to address those because Stiles wasn't in the movie) where trust was demonstrated in the series by there being no need to explain it to each other.
An important scene which I feel demonstrates this is at the beginning of 6B. Liam, having trouble because Hayden has moved away, almost gets caught transforming in the middle of practice. Scott has to talk him down. Yet, when the diseased wolf (possessed by the Anuk-Ite, though no one knows that yet) shows up and menaces Nolan and the lacrosse team, Scott and Liam immediately begin working together without talking. Scott doesn't have to ask Liam to come with him; Liam doesn't have to inquire about their plan. They walk in unison even though Liam was having trouble not five minutes before.
A counterpoint is the scene in Restraint, where Derek is trying to formulate a plan against the kanima and Gerard, and he gets frustrated because his betas keep questioning his decisions. They're looking at the restraints they're going to use for the full moon, and Isaac is asking him question after question. Derek explodes with "We can't!" to these questions which seem to be quite reasonable. Why the anger? Because pack should mean that his betas shouldn't have to badger him about what they were going to do. Isaac never stops questioning Derek, never stops demanding explanations. Eventually, Isaac joins up with another pack.
Of course, the writing decisions are influenced by the limitations of the medium, especially time requirements. Davis very clearly didn't want to spend a lot of time on exposition and explanation. That wasn't what he was interested in. Yet, I feel that the lack of conversation in the movie couldn't be Davis's disinterest in Liam and Scott's relationship, because otherwise there would be little reason for Liam to be there at all. Liam didn't know Allison; he wasn't invested, and if the film could do without Stiles, it could certainly do without Liam. But the narrative reason he was included was to underline the truth behind Scott's taunt to the nogitsune.
Scott: And I'm still standing. And I'm still the alpha.
The nogitsune wants their fun, and it pleases it to kill a pack's alpha right in front of them, and he is there alpha, and they're his betas. It even pretends to be a werewolf to twist the knife. He fails, of course, but Jeff didn't need to have the characters say the words to show that it is true.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
tagged by @zainclaw and @andavs 🥰🥰🥰
How many works do you have on ao3? 39 apparently
What's your total ao3 word count? 288,797 words
What fandoms do you write for? actively right now? nothing really lol. haven't published a fic since 2022. but i guess you could say 911 and teen wolf given some random WIPs in my drafts. also i randomly started jotting down some notes for a stranger things steve/eddie fic that will probably never be written.
Top five fics by kudos 01. take my hand (take my everything) (buddie) 02. taste your beating heart (sterek) 03. so show me (family) (buddie) 04. you never said a word (sterek) 05. be careful (my darling) (buddie)
Do you respond to comments? yes, always! i usually try to wait until i have a dozen or so, which can sometimes take a bit of time, but eventually i respond to it all.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i have a sterek drabble called and i fell heavy into your arms (688 words) that is basically derek seeing stiles die and then immediately letting himself be killed
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? most of them?? not sure i can think of one specifically that was happier than the others.
Do you get hate on fics? ah, i almost said no, but then i remembered that for my fic taste your beating heart every now and then i'll get scott fans who think the fic should be tagged as "bad friend scott mccall" even though he's NOT a bad friend in the fic, it's just a nuanced view of their changing relationship. like, that fic is about 3 main things that include: stiles and derek getting together, solving the main mystery, and stiles and scott's friendship maturing to a place where they can love each other and still be brothers without thinking they need to be in the same pack!! like it's FUNDAMENTAL.
anyway, i had one reader who i think quit the fic halfway through bc i gently pushed back on their rage comment insulting derek and stiles for a fight that takes place with scott. the reader left an angry reply to my response, which they then deleted before i could even look at it, and then never commented on the fic again even though they'd been commenting on the fic since chapter 1.
Do you write smut? no not really. i don't know why i'm so bad at writing sex, but i am very bad at writing sex.
Craziest crossover i have no crossovers
Have you ever had a fic stolen? not that i know of??
Have you ever had a fic translated? yes, someone translated my mike/harvey suits fic trembling hands into russian all the way back in 2013.
Have you ever cowritten a fic before? i have not!
All time favourite ship? to write? to read? no idea, so i refuse to answer.
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i've got a sterek idea that's an AU of the netflix show virgin river. i had a pretty brief outline that i sketched out some, and even started writing a little, but it never went anywhere. i did create an AU gifset for it and every now and then when people start reblogging it i think about going back to try and write it.
What are your writing strengths? i think i'm good at realistic dialogue? but i don't know. i haven't written in a while so i'm not feeling super great about my writing at this very moment.
What are your writing weaknesses? i suck at setting a scene. and conveying a complex emotion. also i feel like i get v bogged down in what characters are physically doing or whatever and i try to describe it and it just detracts from the story over all. yikes ok i'm feeling worse about my writing than i thought lol
Thoughts on dialogue in another language? if the context is there to understand what's being said, great. otherwise, just adding context to the dialogue tag (he said in french, in german, etc) works. personally i'd prefer not to scroll back and forth between the fic and the notes to figure out what's being said.
First fandom you wrote in? harry potter. on the site quizilla back in the year of our lord 2005 lol. i started off writing like. a harry/oc fic lol where the protagonist was the classic american exchange student who had her own prophecy. truly mortifying!!
Favorite fic you've written? i have a soft spot for taste your beating heart bc it was the first long fic i ever completed and it took me 7 fucking years to write it. but i think my favorite is actually finding our way (back home) which i really think captured everything i was aiming to do. will i ever be able to do that again??? who fucking knows. probably not. on the more self-indulgent side, i really really love the margaret buckley character study i wrote called so far from who i was.
tagging!! @woodchoc-magnum, @crazyassmurdererwall, @tattooedsiren, @machtaholic, @catdadeddie, @tripleaxeldiaz, @valleydean, @thisapplepielife, and anyone else who wants to do this.

so here’s the thing. rebooting the original 1980s teen wolf film as a series worked because they weren’t trying to be the the 1980s film. the film was a silly comedy, the series was darker (both thematically and aesthetically and seriously the lighting needed serious work but i digress) and the only real connections was a teen called scott turning into a werewolf and his friend stiles, everything else about the show established it as an thing in its own right, unconnected to the film.
this teen wolf the movie as a follow up to the series didn’t work and that’s for a number of reasons.
1. it relies way to heavily on nostalgia, the amount of throw backs and hints to the series would have worked, been endearing even, if we weren’t in the age of streaming when people could go back and rewatch the series whenever the want, and if there had been a longer gap between the series and the film. season 6 ended in 2017, my first year of university, it is now 2023, i graduated in 2020. september 2017-january 2023 isn’t even 6 years, the show is still fresh for so many people, and so many people are still discovering the series that it makes the nostalgia grabs feel cheap
2. the nogitsune is an iconic teen wolf villain, season 3 is many peoples favourite season for a reason, and while a large part of that is because of dylan and his impeccable acting as void stiles, another huge part of that is the nogitsune itself, this film does not do the nogitsune justice in the slightest. it’s another nostalgia grab, the writers basically went ‘remember your favourite season and favourite villain? well we bought the villain back’ and it sucks. flip side of that, the heavy reliability on nostalgia requires fans to remember every single detail of the series to piece things together, i spent part of the film confused until i remembered something from the series and then everything made sense.
3. none of the characters seemed to mature, every single character was making mistakes they made as teenagers, and should have learnt from, while they are now in their 30s, it felt like character development wasn’t even something the writers considered and i was so annoyed
4. fan favourites were missing. sure we’ve known for a while that dylan, arden, daniel and cody weren’t returning, but stiles is the reason that so many people got into teen wolf, isaac was a fan favourite and his exit from the show, and everyone seemingly forgetting about him, was something that the fandom never excepted. kira had the fandom divided on opinions, but that was down to the writers, kira deserved a better ending, and arden deserved better than how she was treated (100% support her decision not to come back). theo again had people divided, but by the end a lot of people had warmed to him, i think having him back would have helped at least a little bit, his snark and overall attitude contrasted perfectly with the righteousness of so many of the characters
5. the writing sucked, i’m sorry but so many of the lines felt like they were written by middle ages writers for a gen z teen show and y’all know exactly what i mean by that. teen show dialogue is so uncomfortable for people in their teens and just out of their teens to hear because it’s so unrepresentative and this had the same feel. the plot also felt simultaneously rushed and also drawn out, which is a talent in its own right, but not a good one.
6. eli. listen, eli as a character is fine but his existence creates a multitude of plot holes. he’s been alive the same amount of time that allison has been dead, who is his mother? who was derek romantically involved with in season 2/3, they discuss eli as a young child, toddler age really, but it was never seen in the show, when exactly did derek find out about his son, when did this happen?
7. stydia. 6 seasons it took for them to develop stydia. 6b was weird enough with lydia being more excited over seeing jackson than her own boyfriend and then the film we find out they broke up over a potential premonition. i get that dylan not coming back probably changed things, but to have a 6 season long slow burn to end like that, it’s disappointing and honestly lazy writing.
8. bringing characters back from the dead, at this point it’s boring. teen wolf had already done that in the series, if you’re a fan of supernatural you saw it happen basically every season. bringing dead characters back to life no longer has the affect it once had on audiences
9. derek’s death. listen, the idea of derek dying isn’t a bad plot device, and at this point not enough main or key characters have died when you think about how high stakes the plot was, however the way it was done annoyed me. having him die the same way his family did, and having is son watch it happen, it was unnecessary trauma porn.
10. off the back of point 9, the allusion to sterek with the jeep analogy. i’m a sterek shipper, always been a fan of that pairing (also a stydia shipper so frankly either way the plot went i would have been happy but no one ends happily here so fuck your jeff) it’s become a thing with long running shows that have a popular queer ship among fans to allude to a one sided love in the finale/film special and then kill the character with the one sided love. this sucks on multiple levels. it’s the worst kind of fan service, if you’re going to give me queer characters then give them to me openly, i don’t want allusions or subtext, it also plays off as writers and producers realising they weren’t inclusive enough and trying to remedy it in the worst possible way.
11. allison. listen, we love allison, she’s great. she didn’t need to be resurrected but we move on. my biggest issue is, she died when she was 17, she was then resurrected 15 years later, surely that suggests that she is still 17 while everyone around her has aged by 15 years, to then bring back scallison made me slightly uncomfortable (might just be me though)
12. harris. not only do they bring someone back from the dead. but it’s a basically forgettable character, he was only around for a few episodes and it’s frustrating that there’s zero explanation as to how he’s alive, nor is there any reason for his knowledge of the nogitsune, let alone his desire to release him despite some flimsy revenge plot
13. hikari. i get that with bringing back the nogitsune they felt that they needed a kitsune and with arden (rightfully) not coming back they needed a new kitsune, but they ruined her character basically immediately. there wasn’t time in a film to introduce or get to know her, she was a plot device necessary only for the fact they were bringing the nogitsune back, and keeping scott alive.
14. continuity? season 6 ended with the pack basically running for their lives as the existence of supernatural creatures became widely known and helping other supernatural creatures find safety. the film didn’t address that, the film made out that the existence of supernatural creatures was once again not widely known. what happened in that time? the continuity issues led to so many plot holes it’ll take multiple rewatches for me to find them all and i am not putting myself through that again.
basically this film was unnecessary, it was a badly executed cash grab banking on nostalgia to bring people back. i’m a firm believer that when it’s time you should let things go, teen wolf should have ended with 6a, 6b was the worst instalment in the series and then less than 6 years later they followed with an even worse film. it honestly felt like fanfiction and not in a good way, but what’s worse is it worked, teen wolf fans (including myself) tuned in, sure mine was from morbid curiosity but i am now still a viewer, sure reviews are bad and fans are annoyed, but they’re getting views and in the entertainment industry that’s all that matters.
anyway, can streaming services and hollywood stop remaking/rebooting/making follow ups and sequels stop. so few are done well, and frankly it’s unnecessary.

TSC - The Sterek Conspiracy
guys, i just watched the teen wolf movie, and i’m here to tell you: i’ve figured it out
this was NOT the real teen wolf movie.
it just doesn’t make sense. there are too many plot holes, the whole thing seems rushed and confusing, and there’s nothing in it that fans actually wanted. so why would they make this?
because the secret good real teen wolf movie is yet to be released.
everything was a deliberate misdirect. in a few weeks, they’ll surprise us with the REAL movie and pull off the greatest plot twist ever. dylan o’brien is gonna be in it, and sterek will become canon.
proof:
the whole “plot” is about the nogitsune, but without any of the characteristics that used to make him a great villain. it’s obviously just a nod to stiles.
it’s all about characters coming back... everyone is coming back to beacon hills, jackson from england, allison from the dead... you know who else is coming back? stiles!
we barely get to see the characters bonding even though everyone knows that’s the heart of teen wolf! am i to believe they’d make a movie about allison coming back and not even have her talk to lydia? come on, i’m not an idiot
everything is really really low quality, the writing, the acting, the editing, the special effects, the sound design, the fights.... almost as if it was put together with no effort or care BECAUSE IT’S NOT THE REAL END PRODUCT.
actors saying they didn’t have a script for this - because the script was for the real movie, duh!
there were THREE times where they made it seem like derek was about to die. if they wanted a real emotional scene at the end why would they add not one but SEVERAL fake outs? that would just be very bad writing so it HAD to be on purpose. it’s just another fake out!
derek’s son being a carbon copy of stiles? obsessed with his jeep? derek having complicated feelings about said jeep? no mention of a mother? the sheriff as his mentor? come on... there’s no way they’re actually doing something where the only logical conclusion is sterek mpreg. they’re obviously teasing us, and seeding the idea of stiles and derek’s connection to casual viewers. this cannot possibly be a real movie!
speaking of the jeep. it obviously represents stiles, so that speech at the end about the jeep never breaking down, always coming back? is about stiles, not derek
eli is literally an anagram of LIE. wake up, sheeple
(i can’t even joke about arden coming back she deserves so much better)

Note
The funniest thing about Jeff Davis is that all he had to do was, like, imply that Derek and Stiles were together. Like, a couple throwaway lines about how Eli's papa is out of town and Derek is struggling to relate his goofball son on his own. Or like, someone says that they shouldn't be having this memorial without Stiles.
Instead he comes up with the Jeep metaphor which is so ridiculously romantic and over the top. It's some fucking old timey pining shit that is soooo typical of Derek Hale.
I am truly baffled by this man.
it is insane. it's unhinged. i can never quite tell with jeff exactly how he lands on sterek.
but, okay, not only did he break up stiles and lydia -- he spent 6 seasons getting them together and than just oop nope they broke up -- but he went and made derek pine for stiles so badly that the entire town probably knows. the sheriff clearly knew the score. i imagine it's an open secret in beacon hills just like the supernatural.
but like, god, does stiles know? does he have any idea? he must. i cannot imagine the jeep never being brought up considering how attached he was to it.
i also cannot imagine stiles never talking to anyone every again. he has to speak to his dad at least, you know. stiles doesn't let people go. once he considers you his he's ride or die.
like i mentioned the other night stiles's unresolved feelings for derek must've been the elephant in the room in his relationship with lydia.
me, my boyfriend and his unresolved feelings for derek hale a memoir by lydia martin.
it just raises so many questions.
they're a hallmark movie waiting to happen.
