What would the girls do for Snog, Marry, Pie? The ask you had about if it was instead of Girls’ Day intrigued me.

I don’t know why this is the ask that make me realize it, but it’s so incredibly American than over here we call it “fuck marry kill” and across the pond yall call it “snog marry pie”. Like just… We are so very extreme lmao. I’m not kissing you I’m doing the nasty, I’m not pieing you off I’m KILLING YOU-

Lmao but ok so. I feel like if the ladies had played the game DURING girls day it would’ve been really annoying. At that point in the story, most of the original girls are burnt out. A lot of the flirty “maybe I could work with so-and-so, it’s early days” has evaporated, and they all seem pretty disinterested in picking fights by saying they’d kiss someone else’s man. Plus at that point they’re all pretty focused on their couples, to varying degrees of passion. So I feel like it’d go about that Chelsea suggested playing it and nearly everyone just said ‘marry my partner… that’s really all I’m focused on lol’ and maybe would list one of the boys to pie if pressed.

But let’s say they’re playing the same game as the earlier ask where it’s in front of the whole villa and they’re hooked up to a lie detector test.

Marisol my precious: Depending on if she’s flirting with MC at this point or Elisa, I think she’d definitely pull one of them in to make Graham jealous of the girls and vice versa. She would gaze around the whole villa, bite her lip and say "pie Rahim, snog Graham, marry Elisa/MC". Graham would get angry, and she'd smirk at him "please, babes, ladies are so much tidier. If we're getting married you have to show me that you'd be a good flatmate." Rahim definitely also gets upset that Marisol is STILL punishing him for... being upset that she didn't like being coupled with him...

Hope my love: Not a whole lot of interest here. She sits down, says “marry Noah, pie off Jakub, and… oh let’s say snog Lucas.” She shoots a smirk at Lucas, but it’s no big deal because the two of them and Noah know it won’t go anywhere. At most Noah rolls his eyes, but I don’t even think he’s invested enough to do that.

Priya: She'd shrug and search out Noah with her eyes. I can envision him shaking his head at her pointedly, and she'd flip her hair in annoyance. This is the point of the game where she's recognizing that she really... Has no one backing her up, and she'd be really anxious and upset to be put on the spot like that. She'd huff and quickly say "I don't know, snog Gary, pie Bobby, marry Rahim or whatever" if anyone protested she'd be like "fine, Bobby/CA Boy, then. I don't care."

Lottie: I can see her being theatrical with it and tossing her hair like "oh I don't know, pie Lucas, kiss Bobby, and.." she looks past Gary very obviously and stares at MC/Hannah, then glances at Gary to make sure he's looking "marry Gary I suppose."

Hannah: She'd try to say "Gary for all three" and someone would point out "you'd pie Gary too?" and she'd blush and say "well no, then kiss and marry Gary." She'd be sneaking looks at Lottie the whole time and relishing in her annoyed reaction.

Okay SO. I’m gonna cheat a little bit here. The first nine I’m going to post are all going to be from the first nine chapters of time cast a spell on you (but you won’t forget me) but to be fair the chapters are so long they each might as well be a story all their own lmao. ANYWAY. Here we go. I’ll post the first paragraph from each I guess, in order of chapter number obvs:

1. Quentin shook out the tension in his hands. He didn’t understand why it wasn’t getting any easier. For days on end he’d been trying to perfect the illumination spell the rest of his fellow First Years had nailed in a matter of hours. But no matter how he tried, Quentin couldn’t seem to make anything more than a spark.

2. Quentin waited until Eliot was asleep to slip out of bed and hastily tug his clothes back on. The illuminated screen of his phone told him it was just past 12am. Clutching his shoes to his chest, he opened the door as quietly as he could manage and tip-toed out into the hall, all but running to his room and clicking the lock shut firmly behind him.

3. Dry-mouthed and groggy, Quentin woke in Eliot’s bed alone. He groaned, groping around for his phone to check the time for a long moment before remembering he’d left it in his room. Quentin rubbed at his eyes, rolling over and up to his feet, muscles he didn’t even know existed screaming as he went. He picked his bathrobe up from the floor and pulled it on, then tottered down the hall to empty his bladder and brush his teeth and gulp down frantic handfuls of water from the bathroom sink.

4. Tuesday morning was hell. Quentin woke just before eleven, empty as a husk. Filthy, all used up. His thighs sticking together where Eliot’s come had dried there in the night. Quickly realizing he’d already missed his first class of the day, Quentin pressed his face into his pillow, pulled the covers up over his head, and surrendered to the blank comfort of late morning sleep.

5. Quentin couldn’t feel his face, or much of his body for that matter. Which was… fine. It was great. It was fucking phenomenal. As long as it meant he also couldn’t feel the sinkhole that had formed in the center of his chest. The one that had been there for days, weeks, months, fucking years. He couldn’t feel anything at all.

6. Quentin felt a lever turn inside his chest, the source of his magic eking out a spark. Enough at least to send a message to Julia back at Brakebills. One of those little enchanted paper airplanes they’d learned his first week in Practical Applications that he never could get to fly quite right. He scrawled his SOS on a cocktail napkin and watched it flutter away like the world’s saddest butterfly. The universe took pity on him. Quentin figured he was probably due. 7. Christmas morning was a lackluster affair.

Exchanging gift cards over coffee and devouring great mounds of Ted Coldwater’s Famous Ham and Eggs while still in their pajamas. After, Julia and Quentin lay on the living room floor and Skyped with James, his grandparents waving hello from Pennsylvania in the background. They opened the stack of impersonal and overly-extravagant gifts from Julia’s mother that had been delivered to the house the night before. Quentin received a pair of cashmere socks and a leather belt with a shiny silver buckle.

8. Quentin stood at the bathroom sink, watching his face shift in the steamy mirror glass. Stark naked save for the towel looped around his hips. Hair dripping in cool, fat beads down onto the planks of his shoulders. So clean he swore he could feel himself sparkling from the inside out.

9. Quentin tossed his phone down onto the floor and leaned back into Eliot’s heat. “It’s almost like you want my dad to know I’m faking sick so I can stay in and let you fuck me until I pass out.”

Some patterns I guess: I love how chapters 2-4 all open with Quentin in bed after hooking up with eliot but all with very different vibes. In chapter 2, he’s just experienced subspace for the first time without having any idea that’s what actually happened to him and he is having A Time. In chapter 3, they had a very intense hook-up the night before and Quentin is sneaking out again, but this time he fully plans on returning right after. And in chapter 4, we see the joy of their beginnings at Columbia contrasted hard with the misery of where Quentin is at Brakebills.

ALSO 2/3 of the chapters begin with Quentin’s name which feels right considering just how deep into his headspace we are in this fic.

Okay. Anyway. Moving on:

10. Eliot loved watching Quentin lose himself in a moment.

It could be anything really: mastering a brand new spell; savoring something decadent and sweet; fussing with his hair when he thought no one was looking; focusing very hard on making himself a cocktail and getting the ratios just right; ranting about his Fillory books; reading his Fillory books, to himself but especially aloud; reading anything; riding dick...

That last one held a particularly special place in Eliot’s heart.

11. Teddy was turning six years old. There was nothing in the world he loved more than stories.

His favorite was a version of Lord of the Rings Quentin had cobbled together from memory. He must have told it to their son a hundred times before it occurred to Eliot he could contribute more to story time than ogling Quentin’s hands while he spoke, or popping in to suggest when the Balrog should actually be making an appearance, Quentin.

12. The words came out of Quentin’s mouth without a single coherent thought behind them.

“I’m just about to catch a movie with my boyfriend!”

There, outside the coffee shop on Eighth Avenue, Quentin’s maybe-friend from high school whose name he couldn’t even remember shot him a wide-mouthed grin. “Oh, that’s wonderful!” she said. “Which movie? My wife Danielle and I don’t have any plans for the afternoon and we’d love to tag along. Isn’t that right sweetie?”

13. Eliot dropped the last box onto the floor. “Daddy’s wardrobe is safe at last,” he said, lowering himself down into the gold chair with a sigh. “Though I can’t seem to shake the terrible feeling that Todd raided my closet at the Cottage before I could get to it all.”

Quentin surveyed the damage from his spot on the sofa: there were at least seven large packing boxes bursting at their seams scattered around the penthouse. “I don’t know how you would even be able to tell. I’m pretty sure one of those boxes is just vests.”

Eliot quirked a brow in his direction. “Some of us are cultivating an aesthetic, Quentin,” he said. “And I didn’t see you complaining when I let you dress me for dinner last night.”

Quentin couldn’t help but smile. “I wouldn’t call picking between two pre-approved ties dressing you, El.”

“I’m also counting the fact that you said my ass looked great in my new pants.”

14. The night Quentin Coldwater died, a brand new star appeared in the sky over Brakebills. A little brighter than Venus, it stayed fixed in the same position for weeks on end. Eliot hardly would have noticed such a thing if it hadn’t been for the way that it hummed. Or at least, that’s how it felt. A humming in his bones. An old, familiar presence. Margo thought that he’d gone mad with grief. Alice was the only one who could understand.

15. It didn’t happen the way Eliot expected it to. He dropped the letter into the mailbox, and pain blossomed in his abdomen so brightly it was like he’d gone supernova.

And everything went dark.

16. Eliot stretched out over the mosaic, his shirt riding up just a little as he clicked a yellow tile into place, and Quentin’s pulse leapt in his neck once, twice. Three times. His breath hitched. It was becoming nearly impossible to focus. In the heat of the sun, watching the sweat soak Eliot’s shirt clean-through.

17. After they decided kissing on the mouth was okay, Quentin and Eliot wanted to do it all the time. In every corner of the penthouse (“If you don’t stop sucking face while I’m trying to eat my sandwich,” Kady said one afternoon, “I’m literally going to feed you to the Baba Yaga.”), outside coffee shops, in between bites at the sushi place in Chelsea that Eliot loved. Once, they went to see a movie they couldn’t even remember the name of just to make out for two blissful, uninterrupted hours in the dark.

18. Eliot startled awake to something sharp and pointed slamming into his shin. He opened his eyes, and the toe of Margo’s shoe made contact one last time. Pain seared up the side of his leg, and he winced. Jesus, she really did not realize her own strength sometimes. Or the strength of her Jimmy Choo’s.

19. Eliot Waugh was High King in his blood, and somehow that felt right. When they first arrived in Fillory, Quentin assumed he would be the one to wear the crown. He’d dreamed of it most of his life after all. On the throne in Whitespire, a fleet of talking animals at his disposal, a noble quest waiting around every corner to ferry him away to the next grand, heart-stopping adventure. But when the blade bit into his palm and drew no blood, and Eliot’s came up red, it felt like the final piece of some perfect puzzle clicking into place.

20. Eliot walked into the penthouse to an eerie quiet. He found Quentin sitting in the kitchen under a dim illumination spell, drinking a beer and poking at the screen of his phone.

“Hey,” Eliot said, setting his shopping bag down on the counter. “Where is everyone?”

Quentin sighed, rubbing at his eyes. He looked like he hadn’t slept in days. “Out. I don’t know.”

Eliot squinted at him. “You didn’t want to go with them?”

Quentin lifted his eyes, shot Eliot a look. “No.”

She leaned over and planted a kiss on his clean-shaven cheek. “Ready?” she asked, but did not wait for an answer as she pushed her door open, hopped out onto the street, pushing the car door shut behind her with her hip. She walked around the front of the car and waited for him to get out of the driver’s seat. But he hadn’t moved; his hands were still on the bottom of the wheel.

She knocked on his window. “Uh, Harry? You’re still buckled in, love.” He nodded, taking his seatbelt off, and leaned over to grab the flowers behind the passenger’s side. He finally opened the car door and stepped out slowly. Ginny giggled as she shut the door for him, before turning to straighten his collar and run a hand through his hair. “They’re all going to love you,” she soothed him. “Everything you’ve ever told me contradicts that.” “Mum and Dad will, at least,” she assured him. “Fred, George, and Ron…well, they’re another story.” “That’s who I’m worried about!” “I can handle them if they act up, so don’t. And besides, as I told you before, at least you won’t have to worry about Bill. Just his wife, Phlegm.” Harry smiled just the slightest. “Can you remind me her real name again, please? So I don’t accidentally call her that to her face?” Ginny laughed. “I wish you would. But it’s Fleur. And just remember-“ “-don’t mention Percy,” he finished. “But bring up how I wish I could meet Charlie, who’s in Romania, who was offered a position for Chelsea but turned it down.” “See? You’re gonna knock ‘em dead.” She took his free hand and dragged him towards the door. “Pretty sure that’s what they’re going to do to me,” he muttered, but she ignored him. They reached their destination and Ginny pushed the door open. As they walked in, they could hear Mrs. Weasley scrambling over to them excitedly. She hugged Harry immediately, telling him how happy she was to finally meet him and thanked him for the flowers. She took them from him and let him know how soon dinner would be ready, and that they just needed to wait for Mr. Weasley to return from work, and led him toward the sitting room. There, he saw an assembly line of tall, redheaded men, and one very pretty woman attached to one of them. Bill and his wife introduced themselves kindly before going to help Mrs. Weasley in the kitchen. Then he turned to face the rest of them. From everything Ginny had said about the way her brothers would badger her about her dating life in high school, he assumed they’d be standing there with fists and jaws clenched. To Harry’s pleasant surprise, they all seemed eager to shake his hand and greet him; well, at least Fred and George were, whereas Ron seemed a bit nervous. Harry, who felt prepared, mentioned how he wished he could meet Charlie. But then the conversation quickly turned to football and Liverpool and everything they ever wanted to know about him, Harry Potter, the youngest player to ever be recruited to the Premier League. After a few minutes of answering their questions on the couch, Harry turned to Ginny with a suspicious look. “Did you put them up to this?” “Of course not,” she scoffed. “They’re fans. Can you blame them?” “Right, but I didn’t realize just how much. Why-” “Because,” Fred interjected, a note of amusement in his voice, “she didn’t wanna blow her cover. Did you, sis?” “No clue what you’re talking about,” said Ginny, her eyes throwing daggers at Fred. “We’re a big football family,” George informed Harry. “We all played in school. Ginny, too.” “She was captain of the girls’ team,” Fred added. Ginny rolled her eyes. “He knows that already.” “Yeah,” Harry echoed, still feeling a bit perplexed. “It was a big bonding point for us.” “Ah, yes,” George sighed. “But she must have neglected to tell you that she was practically the president of the Harry Potter fan club for a year before you lot met; rallied us all in.” There was a long pause. Harry turned to his girlfriend, who avoided his eyes, picking lint from her pants. “Not literally,” she murmured. Then Ron finally spoke. “No, just the top poster on the Harry Potter subreddit.” Harry’s jaw dropped as her brothers roared with laughter. He looked at Ginny, and he had never seen her look so mortified. He wanted to ask more questions, but he didn’t want to embarrass her in front of her brothers. However, he didn’t have to. Ginny took matters into her own hands, grabbing Harry and dragging him away from the scene while saying, “Excuse us,” to her brothers as passive-aggressively as she could. She led him up one flight of steps wordlessly, and then let go of his arm, gestured for him to walk into her room, and once he did she followed, kicking the door closed behind her. “Look,” she turned to him, and her face was so brightly flushed that it almost matched her hair. “Yes, I was a huge fan. Yes, I spent an inordinate amount of time on the Harry Potter subreddit watching interviews and highlights and occasionally swooning over your eyes, sue me. But I don’t want you to think I was a stalker or anything. I would never have tried to invade your privacy like that.” “You sure that when we met at the pub you hadn’t tailed me there?” he asked playfully. “Cross my heart,” she swore. “It was just some god up there looking out for me and by happenstance having me be at The Cauldron the same moment in time as my celebrity crush. And besides, you came up to me!”

“For president of my fan club, you played it pretty cool,” he smiled, putting his arms around her waist.

Ginny laughed, sounding almost nervous. “I was dying inside. Absolutely dying. I couldn’t believe my fate.”

“Had you really not even noticed I was there until I came up to you asking if you were saving the seat next to you?” When she shook her head he asked, “What if you had? Would you have come up to me?”

“I definitely would have. And I wouldn’t have played it as cool, either. You probably wouldn’t have fallen in love with me had things played out that way.”

“Of course I would,” he assured her, kissing her forehead. “But why did you never tell me?”

“I mean, I did tell you my brothers and I were fans. I just…downplayed the extent of it.”

“Are you still my biggest fan?” he asked, smiling brightly.

She smiled back, pushing herself up to kiss him on the mouth. “Even more so, now.”

“Did I live up to your expectations?”

“Surpassed them.” He leaned in to kiss her again, and she wrapped her arms behind his neck. “You’re not totally freaked out?” she asked cautiously.

Harry laughed. “No. Makes me feel even more special to you. Makes you more special to me.” And he meant it.

Ginny sighed happily, melting into him. He stroked her hair as he held her, feeling utterly content with her in his arms, his heart swelling as she whispered, “I love you. And not just because you’re a super fit and successful football player. I’m just lucky that you’re those things and as wonderful as you are on your own.”

Harry chuckled. “I love you too,” he declared. After a few long, lovely moments of holding each other, Ginny nudged her head against Harry’s, adjusting them so she could kiss him. Harry kissed her back, his hands roaming up and down her body until Ginny began to giggle against him, pushing him away. “Harry, we’re at my parents’ house.”

He cleared his throat, trying to come back to his senses. “Sorry. Forgot myself a bit there.”

“It was lovely,” she told him, taking his hands and pulling him back to her. “Normally I’d never request for you to keep your hands to yourself. But my dad’s going to be home any second for dinner…save it for dessert at yours, okay?”

“Yes ma’am,” he agreed, wiggling his eyebrows, and at that moment they heard Mr. Weasley walking in through the front door.

“Suppose I’m psychic,” Ginny intertwined her fingers with his and used her free hand to reach for the door. “Well, c’mon, I know Dad is excited to meet you and Mom is excited to feed you. And the boys didn’t interrogate you about whether you’re going to break my heart, or try to pretend like I’m still a child and have never so much as snogged anyone, or-“

“And what exactly were you two doing up there, hmm?” Fred interrupted as they met him and George, sharing twin smirks, at the foot of the stairs.

Ginny groaned. “Spoke too soon.”

The lyrics???? The melody, the order of how its sung, their voices, the harmonization, the entire song in general is amazing! But lets break it down on why it would be a Juke song in the first place.

The entire first half of the song is sung ONLY by Jeremy Zucker, which would translate to Luke being the one to sing this part. But get this- the only melody in the background are piano chords. The minute I recognized this, i was like “Julie!!!” (yes, Juke has consumed my entire mind to the point i relate a lot of the songs i listen to on the their relationship sue me). We’ll get to the part on why the piano instrumental is so significant later, but lets take a look at some of the lyrics first-

Julie is literally one of the only reasons why Luke is still alive. She saved them with her witchy powers and the power friendship and love for her boys. Its basically understandable why Luke would write this line if ever.

Julie and The Phantoms is a kids show, so they obviously won’t dig in into the darker consequences of what happened to the boys and the aftermath they have to constantly deal with, but I think its normal that they get “nightmares” over what happened to them. Sure they dont need sleep- but i hc that they can sleep if they wanted to. And when they do, sometimes they get plagued with nightmares, so they dont do it that often although the ability to sleep comes in handy when Julie wants to take a nap with them, they don’t usually get nightmares with her.

That being said- for a while the nightmares were a bit of a constant reminder to Luke as to why it wouldn’t be a good idea to act on “their interesting little relationship” (in his mind at least). To him, it would just leave both sides in pain. But then he gets a wakeup call of some sorts, hence “but now that i’m not scared,” he’s ready to take the risk and enjoy whatever time he has left with Julie.

Moving on to the second half of the song, Chelsea Cutler sings the the next verse and chorus alone as well- but with GUITAR chords in the background instead of piano (yall see the parallels im trying to hint at now?). Again, we’ll talk about that more later, but some of the lyrics are:

I like to hc a mother-daughter talk between Julie and Rose happening before she died, where she asks about Rose and Ray and their relationship, how she knew it was ‘right,’ and thats what her mom tells her. She tells Julie that everything with her father was easy, it came easy, loving him and all, and that when she finds someone who’s easy too, then that might be a hint that they’re the ‘right’ one for her. And let’s face it- Julie and Luke are like two sides of the same coin, they fit and they’re easy, at least in my opinion and interpretation of their relationship.

Also- i had to add that last bit because, remember ‘Finally Free’?? He literally gave her the idea to sneak out and she was all in without so much of a thought. Remember when she threw herself at him in a hug without thinking twice because she needed to have that contact at least once, so yeah! He makes her impulsive, and she keeps him grounded.

The pre-chorus and chorus comes (that last part i did with Luke) and with Julie’s pov in mind, its a bit similar and different all the same. In Lukes pov, he didn’t want to take the risk knowing that when he left her they’d both be in pain anyway, and Julie didn’t need that. In Julie’s pov, she’s scared of losing him and being hurt all over again- she had to watch them slowly wither away from existence and couldnt do anything about it until she could, but those moments before will always haunt her. Anyway, she gets over it quicker than Luke, deciding that she might as well let herself be in love for as long as the universe would let her.

Now, both Jeremy and Chelsey come together in the bridge and the last chorus, their voices blending beautifully. Both piano and guitar could be heard now, as well as the violin (and yes, the guitar and violin is more prominent, but the piano is also there- especially at the end end), but when each instrument appears is what makes it so appealing to Juke and my interpretation of how it would symbolize with them.

Like I mentioned earlier, piano could only be heard during Jeremy’s (Luke’s) part. Who rocks the piano between the two of them? Julie. The title of the song is literally called “this is how you fall in love,” and who is Luke in love with? You guys see where’s im going with this now? Chelsea’s (Julie’s) part comes only with guitar (and a bit of violin in the bg), and she’s quite obviously in love with Luke. Towards the end, both instruments come together as their voices harmonize as well. Yea, so anyway- if ever Juke came up with this song in the JATP universe i think they would definitely intentionally write the structure of the song to be this way, because they are songwriters and songwriters can be dramatic when it comes to symbolism, even in the tiny little details (take this from someone who songwrites every now and then).

Personally, I also hc that Luke came up with the basis of the song first- meaning the first verse + pre-chorus and parts of the chorus. He wrote the song first for Julie (because Jules, you deserve a song- a million of them actually) and Julie ended up helping him complete it once she found out about its existence.

15. Favourite LI of all time (both seasons)?

I was never attached to the S1 characters tbh But my biased ass is gonna say that Gary is truly the best LI of both seasons. You literally get a little bit of everything with him. You get a bit of a slow burn if you think about it. He knows he’s into MC but he’s still trying to let go of his lad ways of life lol Until CA hits, he’s determined to pursue MC. I do believe that out of all LI’s, Gary’s the one that falls the hardest for MC. Just the gem scenes alone really show how mesmerized he is of her 😭But yeah, you get drama, romance, funny scenes with Gary, extreme fluff, his backstory, sexy and playful gems scenes. It’s a great route 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Idk why but I loved the day MC and Gary got to meet the fam 🥺🥺🥺Same day he also asked her to be his girlfriend. Such as wholesome day tbh, I love it!

Again, my biased ass haha I think Gary has the best character development, hands down. How he opened up about his mental health to MC like I wasn’t expecting that from FB so I love them for giving our Garebear that in-depth backstory about having bullies as a child, his dad leaving, and having body image issues. Just like, omg 😭At first sight, he just looks like a very confident man but underneath all that, there’s heavy layers 🤧

18. One thing that irked you about the game?

Hah, Lottie. I hate that whenever Lottie criticized MC, MC couldn’t say shit. She couldn’t clap back and MC looked like a rag in the villa. I wish MC had the opportunity to put her in her place, especially during the Gary route. We sort of got that when R!Hannah came over but I just felt like it wasn’t enough 🙄I just wanted MC to tell everyone’s truths at some point

19. Season 1 reunion or Season 2 wedding?

I think S2 wedding was better but it’s still not that great lol

After the show, Gary took MC to meet his nan 🥺And Gary’s family loves MC to death. They def moved in together lol MC and Gary argue about him not picking up after himself cuz he’s a slob 😂I also think MC teaches Gary how to cook because she ain’t gonna be doing everything around haha

I wasn’t exactly expecting to summon on this banner at all since I just recently sparked Kimono Luca, but somehow I ended up being able to spark, even though I had to use diamantium for the last 60 sigils. I maybe could have just used all my back-up adventurer stories and stuff instead, but I didn’t want to, lol.

Anyway, let’s see how that went.

TL;DR: I really wish they’d still play the summon animation when you spark someone like in GBF, because it’s so anti-climactic at the moment, lol.

So yeah I ended up having to spark, and specifically I ended up sparking Mona, but I’ll go over what I got across my summons, lol.

Firstly I got Joker from my fourth free tenfold, which made me seriously consider if it was even worth going for the other banner units, but with how good all three of them were, I decided to just go ahead with it, but I still waited until today’s final tenfold [the final one for this banner, at least].

Then I got Arsene around the 90 summons mark, which again made me wonder if it was worth going for Mona, but I figured I may as well. I still regret skipping Peony, and that’s entirely because her co-ability is so good, lol. At least Sophie’s a budget version of her now.

Soon after that I got a dupe Liger, but I don’t remember exactly when.

Then I got a Joker dupe around halfway into the spark.

Then I got a Meene dupe.

Then I got an Arsene dupe.

Then I didn’t really get anything until basically the end of my spark, where my second to last tenfold gave me my third copy of Joker.

Then I got my FOURTH COPY OF JOKER in my final tenfold, along with a Nefaria dupe.

And then I traded my wyrmsigils for Mona, lol.

I know it’s all just luck, but I feel like I’m the billionth person I’ve seen get like 3+ copies of Joker before getting Mona at all. This banner just feels cursed, lmao.

I think it was still worth it to get him for the co-ability if nothing else, but it hurts to get 2/3 of the banner units less than a third of the way into the spark, only to then have to spark for the final banner unit.

Also his 3D model is really cute, and he fits surprisingly well with my wind team that has S-Norwin, K-Luca, and Sylas on it.

Thankfully at this point I’m planning to just hoard my resources for the end of March gala, since that’ll probably give us either Gatov or Notte, and I’d want either of them. Valentines should be the end of the limited banner hell season, and I don’t really care about Chelsea, so that’ll be an easy skip for me. I also don’t really care about Panther either. We might get a surprise second Valentines unit, but since they only talked about Chelsea, I think she’ll be the only new Valentines alt, and she might just get put on a banner with another one of Prometheus’ brothers.

I’d like to get Faris eventually since he looks nice, but since he’s non-limited I can always just dream summon him later, or just randomly get him from a later banner.

I think with a little under two months until the end of March gala I should be able to save up a spark for that, but I’ll probably have another buffer of diamantium if I need it again by that point.

Anyway I guess I should just be glad that I managed to clean out this banner one way or another, lol. I kinda went into full sour grapes mode about this entire banner after I decided to spark for Kimono Luca, but the P5 units are all really fun to play as.

Just realized I didn’t put a read more...sorry x.x

So like, when my boyfriend lied to me and hung out with his ex (who I’d already asked him to to hang out with for many reasons that I feel...make sense???) I pretty much told him me or her. I have friends who feel like ultimatums are an automatic breakup because they could never be with someone who would do that, but I disagree. There’s nothing WRONG with telling someone this or we’re over, that’s just another way of putting your deal breaker out there. Because ofc he also had as much a right as me to be like oh I won’t date someone who gives me ultimatums, that’s fine.

anyway, he said fine and then basically asked to write her an email explaining and I said....yes? And in hindsight....idk i just feel so shitty about that. Like what the fuck. Why would I say yes to that? you lie to me, disrespect me and what I thought our relationship boundaries are then you want to EXPLAIN to this bitch why you’re doing it??? Let me tell you how much of a real apology I got lol. It definitely wasn’t nearly as long and thorough as this email was. (she constantly disrespected me, sent him emails about how lonely she is and how she knows him better than I do, and that he should break up with me and be her friend.....l o l she even text him on his last birthday....they’d broken up 3 years at that point and not talking for 2......and he still doesn’t believe me when I’m like she definitely??? never got over you??? cause what other reason would you even do that “Happy Birthday, Asshole” to someone you dumped....3 years...previously.......)

Anyway. Couple months later I found out more disrespect was had with 2 other girls to which he AGAIN asked for another “goodbye” email essentially and I said yes again(and said k that’s it...and he couldn’t even respect that and ended up responding to her response like whaaaat hahahahaha) (also chelsea is you’re ever on my tumblr, i want you to know that I actively hate you and view you as the shittiest friend I’ve ever had in my life? thanks for filling that role!) and just wtf was I thinking. Where was my “hey I’m gonna disrespect you and ruin your trust and subconscious and everything you are for the next couple years sorry” email? Like damn.

I’ve been feeling really shitty about that and I don’t want to talk to my friends about it because I’m always like ~dump your shitty boyfriend~ ~love yourself~ but I sure as fuck didn’t so why would I even begin to preach that to other people lmao. and yanno we’re still together and I don’t want them to hate him?! i honestly dunno who’s my top answer, cuz they’re all interesting in their own way

I’m only going to talk about female LIs cuz the only male routes I’ve finished are Bobby and Jake, and I tapped through most of Jake and only ended with Bobby on my first run cuz I never unlocked Marisol, so I’m not the best source lol

Talia:

She’s just so chill but has no problem standing up for MC, she has her back no matter what

Which, like, what a queen

She’s the original and only one of 4 LIs, which maybe it’s just me, but for a game based on an incredibly heteronormative reality show, allowing representation for queer audiences from launch is such a big deal and so cool to me, so Talia’s kind of special in my mind

She was also my first LI so nostalgia points

And she’s such an easy LI, not much drama on her route outside of Lucy, just her having MC’s back as the boys make themselves look like idiots

And she has so much potential, like I know some people think her only personality trait is fancying MC, which I mean, is a little fair, but there’s so many opportunities for her in fics and headcanons to develop the good amount of information we got on her in 13 days

I absolutely love how self-aware and confident she is

She just went for what she wanted, struggled a bit with commitment at first, because who wouldn’t, but after that it was smooth sailing

Like obviously what she said in the Beach Hut at the beginning of the season wasn’t great for MC, but she knew exactly what she wanted out of her time on the show

She was confident in herself and her sexuality so much so that she was just down to have a fling with a girl and not worry about how it would effect the show

And then she *coupled up* with that same girl, not even giving a shit about the rules or anything

I know so many people hate her, and I get it, but I do really like her growth

Maybe it’s cuz I’m pretty analytical too, but her analyses never bothered me or anything, and now that I’ve played her route so many times, it’s pretty obvious that that’s a defense mechanism, and I understand that

She very much so has a “figure their weaknesses out before they have a chance to figure mine out” attitude, and I’m 99% positive it’s because of the ex that Elisa reminded her of

So not only has she been burned in the past, I’m willing to bet it was by the only woman she’s been in a serious relationship with

I really have no problem with her commitment issues, it’s understandable, and I can really empathise with her fear of coming out, it’s absolutely terrifying even if you’ve accepted it and bought a flag, saying the words can be really difficult

My biggest issue is her entitlement and immaturity, I guess?

Like her using Graham to make MC jealous just feels like an excuse to crack on with him and still have MC available for when she’s ready

I understand her being scared to couple up, but playing games to distract herself just made things with MC worse

And unless youre on her route, and sometimes even when you are, it’s clear to me that she expects things and has no problem saying what they are, but going after them is a problem?

Like her going after Lurik even though they don’t have a connection, or Gary even when he’s with Hannah

But then it never works and she gets sad and I melt because I’m weak

ALSO, can I just say how awful it is that Lucas and Henrik don’t pick her unless they have to???

Anyway I love who Marisol became, maybe not everything she started out as, but definitely the person she ended the season as, more confident and self assured and willing to be vulnerable

I tried to a couple months ago, but dumping Marisol felt so cruel, what the hell was Fusebox thinking with that??

I do really like that they learned from their mistake though, even if they went in the opposite direction

From what I’ve seen of Elisa, she can be pretty sweet, I’ve seen her described as a Lucas-Bobby hybrid, and while that’s not the most interesting personality to me, I will say that she’s a really cool character that FB messed up on

Why did they make her a straight up villain???

And why ONLY her???

None of the other female LIs have been villains or had such a complete 180

Like her going from shouting at Chelsea, who is literally meant to be MC’s ride or die and the person outside of your LI that youre supposed to want to defend and avenge, to “i cant even sleep because im pining so hard”

I know the treatment of black women has been discussed before, specifically in regards to Hope and Erikah, and it is by no means my place to speak on it, but I definitely think something’s going on with Elisa

Anywayyyy, I love her archetype

The celebrity and influencer has so much potential, to the point that I wrote a one shot without even knowing her lmao

And she’s so confident in a way that’s so different from Marisol

She doesn’t even care if MC’s happily coupled up, she WILL get in her pants and I respect that

No matter what way you swing it, you’ve either got best friends to lovers or enemies to lovers and I adore both

And her aesthetic is one of my favourites, I’m alt myself and having a character like that is just so cool

My Runaways MC is a ball of sunshine with some hidden darkness specifically because Lottie’s such a dark cloud but can start shining with the right person, and that’s my absolute favourite trope

But man were the wedding episodes a cop out

Why couldn’t they give her the Noah treatment? Or the single treatment? Where they just get together after the show? Same with Hannah, why are they giving such an intense confession after who knows how long of literally nothing, like no communication even????

Don’t get me wrong, I kinda simultaneously love it for the angst and yearning, but it just… makes no sense?

I started a fic a while ago that I think I’m gonna scrap, that just indulged in the fairy tale metaphors and stuff because I just love how cute it is lmao

If she wasn’t dumped, I think she could have had amazing growth alongside Lottie, and their friendship/kinda, probably, most-definitely-if-MC’s-not-there-more-than-a-friendship growing together would have been so good

In an alternate reality Hope was dumped instead, and that helps me sleep at night

I firmly stand by the fact that Noah should have been the deciding factor between Hope and Hannah/MC, where Lottie said something that screwed with his head earlier in the day to make sure her friends were safe

Noah should have saved Hannah/MC and Hope should have returned with Rocco, hellbent on revenge and proving herself

That would have been so good for Noah stans and such good drama, that actually made perfect sense

Hope was fully expecting that she’d get picked by Noah because they’d spent three days attached at the hip and then to just… not have that happen. It would have driven her insane and if there was then a scene with MC where she just like, gives up

Like she’s spent the past two days grafting Noah but he won’t make up his mind and she’s just done and MC can comfort her or fight with her and you just get to humanize her make her vulnerable and hurting and I fucking WISH they did something like that, even for RHannah

And Hannah’s growth in the Villa would have been so amazing

I think her idea of a perfect guy is definitely too much, and I’m not advocating that she settles by any means, just that she could have learned that there are things more important than money

That conversation on day 1 where you choose between money, kindness, and intelligence still baffles me

Like why are you a gold digger Hannah?!?!

Why don’t you just want a Prince/ss Charming???

Her and Hope should have swapped and I don’t understand why they weren’t

Anyway, Hannah is adorable and had so much potential and she never should have returned if they were just going to scrap everything that made her Hannah, except for snooty literature

She should have shown up at the finale and hugged MC and been innocent and sweet so I could have just lost my shit for like a half hour

Adorable, precious, denied an arc outside of coming out

I am not exaggerating when I say that I cried at 4:30 in the morning at her blushing face when playing the first two days

It’s just so fucking cute and I’m a sap and I don’t know why it made me cry, but it did okay?!

And her coming out was such good representation!!! By far the best thing in Boat Party, and I’m so proud of the progress FB’s made in queer representation at the very least

I know she’s pretty one dimensional, but most of S3 is unfortunately

Her being available right off the bat was also such a win, I’m positive it’s the reason she had so many stans

If her and Yasmin had switched or her and Lily, they would have been the ones that were dominating Reddit polls and stuff

And I know she’s written as masc but I just can’t really see it? Like I can’t see her in a dress, but outside of a few clothing items, I guess I just can’t see it? Maybe androgynous is more the word for my image of her, like definitely a mix

She’ll wear a skirt under the right circumstances, but never a dress, a crop top with a flannel, her prom outfit that’s like a frilly jumpsuit, stuff like that? idk im not a lesbian

Her route for me was so glitchy, but I know that if MC’s stolen from her by Yasmin, Tai, or Ciaran, she has some really cute scenes and I wish I could have seen them

And I know some people were ragging on her for the eyelash at the end of the scene but I thought that was just a perfect callback - maybe it’s the writer in me

Basically, AJ’s adorable and why did Ciaran have to split her and MC up, not cool dude

Yasmin:

I forgot I was doing a Yasmin route a while ago, but from what I’ve seen and played, she’s really sweet

I hate that she’s almost nonexistent outside of her route

Give us a mysterious musician friend, you cowards!

I saw that she sings to MC on the final date and damn is that cute

Her eyeshadow kinda throws me off, but her stuffed animal makes up for it

And I’m salty that Yasmin the Lamb disappeared too, that was such a nice detail that made me start a Yasmin route

She’s distant and self-assured, but has a soft, gooey, nostalgic center and I wish we saw more of that, even if we weren’t on her route

My final thoughts on Yasmin: An artsy indie icon that I really need to stop getting distracted from and finish her route

Lily:

Again, don’t know much about her, but she seems really cool

Her shaving her head between the finale and Boat Party is such a flex and I wish she did it right before Boat Party so we could see her in all her bald glory

She’s into cars, right? And… architecture?

Idk, I barely remember my own name, let alone a 10 minute date from months ago

But I’ll definitely get around to doing her route at some point, maybe just to write for her, we’ll see

Elladine:

I know she’s not an LI, but MC so should have been able to run away with her

I missed that option in S3

I kinda get why they didn’t do that, but Boat Party’s just so messy in general

And I would include Genevieve here, but she’s so cute with Seb that I’d feel bad splitting them up

But Elladine had actual problems with Nicky!!!

Why did they mention it for it to never pay off??

And I’m so mad that the hype around her died when it was revealed she wasn’t an LI or the badass of the season, because I still adore how sweet she is

I also want to brag that before we got a name I was calling her Emma and that’s just on example of my almost psychic-ness

A whole buncha shit went down in Chapter 12 today and we got a new Chimera fight to begin shaking up the shadow meta in preparation for the new mana spiral batch and the new Agito fight, but like 90% of my brainpower is currently being spent thinking about how the new influx of wyrmite rewards let me do another tenfold on the Valentine’s banner, which finally got me Epimetheus.

But I still have some thoughts on the new chapter so I’m gonna put them under a cut because of spoilers

I’m feeling extremely vindicated in my choice to dream summon Laranoa, since chapter 12 ended up having flame enemies, and she even showed up in the story, which is like the last thing I saw coming.

Even though my water team is probably my weakest one overall, I didn’t actually have too much difficulty with anything up until the last couple of Very Hard battles, which I wasn’t able to do, and probably won’t be able to for a while.

I still think that the higher difficulty main campaign maps are really fun and well-balanced, though. It’s pretty rare to get challenging content based around dealing with waves of mob enemies. It really forces you to play differently, especially in Very Hard where every enemy hits super hard.

And on the note of the main bosses in the chapter, I’m still wondering if the whole deal with the cube bosses is actually gonna lead somewhere. Thus far they’re just this giant question-mark with no real in-universe explanation or acknowledgement, and their whole sci-fi vibe and the cryptic references to space probes just feels like the exact opposite of how the rest of the game is. It’s possible that they’re just there to be challenging boss fights with no real context behind them, but I kinda hope something happens with them. Maybe once we’ve gotten one for each element.

Story-wise this chapter was shorter and a bit less eventful than I expected, but it was still really fun. It really feels like things are heating up now. Especially with how it ended, it really feels like the first half of a two-chapter story arc, so that’s probably why it felt kinda brief. It definitely raised a lot of interesting questions that’ll probably get addressed in the next chapter.

First of all, the big elephant in the room is the reveal that apparently we’re going to see the fifth heir in the next chapter, which just kinda came out of nowhere, lol. I really thought they’d be a mystery for longer than this.

It’s not like there’s anything to go on one way or another, but I kinda hope that the fifth heir is that wyrmclan leader we saw that looks a whole lot like Euden. But who knows.

They’re still a huge mystery, but the stuff with Phares in this chapter makes me think that the fifth heir is somehow involved in the whole concept of black mana and how it corrupts dragons, if we’re meant to assume that Phares showing up with the void dragons at the end of the chapter was related to him getting help from the fifth heir. Which might explain why Chelle and Leonidas seemed genuinely freaked out at the idea of Phares working with their mystery sibling. I don’t think the idea of black mana has been introduced or explored at all outside of the descriptions of the void bosses, so it’ll be cool if it gets properly explored soon.

And on that note, I really wasn’t expecting this chapter to provide an actual in-universe explanation for stuff like the void dragons and the IO bosses. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s nice that the void dragons aren’t just in their own little weird pocket of ambiguous canon.

It’s kinda weird to see the main story basically introduce the concept of void battles when those have been in the game forever, but it’s nice to see them finally addressing it, lol.

The whole deal with Leonidas talking about ‘dracoshifting’ is also totally a hint at a future game mechanic, isn’t it? People have been wondering for a while now if there’s going to be some sort of revamp to dragons as a mechanic to basically rebalance them according to the current needs of the endgame meta, and I could totally see some variation of what Leonidas did to Mars being used to explain a new mechanic about buffing existing dragons. I imagine that if we get to do it, we’d do it in a more humane way than Leonidas, but still.

I’ve been thinking ever since they introduced mana spirals for adventurers that dragons should probably get something like that to make them better, and I could see this basically being how they do it. I dunno exactly how they’d do it, but maybe it’ll be like promoting dragons to make them stronger and giving them a new sci-fi design like Mars has. There’s definitely a lot of old dragons that need some sort of buff to make them more relevant. I’d want it to be slowly rolled out for specific dragons that need it, though, like with mana spirals.

Mainly I think that the 60% strength dragons probably need a buff since we’re starting to get conditional 80% strength dragons, but there’s also other relatively weak 5-star dragons like Prometheus, Takemikazuchi, Nidhogg, etc, that could use a buff.

This also might be a good way for them to make it worthwhile to actually be shapeshifted for a while, instead of just using the dragon to use a single skill or to tank a hit. At the moment they’re basically all weaker than if you weren’t shapeshifted, but maybe this sort of buff would also lead to their shapeshifted forms being way better. Which would at least be great for characters like Xainfried, Mym, Lathna, etc.

I’m also kinda wondering now if this chapter might be setting up for Leonidas joining us and being playable eventually. It kinda feels like that’s what they’re setting up, but honestly I kinda hate all of Euden’s siblings and I don’t really want to see any of them become our allies, lol. Also Leonidas would probably just be a flame sword, and we really don’t need more of them.

On a similar note I think it’s pretty safe to say that we’re probably getting Gala Alex next month. I dunno if I’ll go out of my way to save for her, but we’ll see. I’m curious to see what her gala alt would play like, though, especially if she’s still a shadow unit. There’s just a whole lot of competition in shadow at the moment. Either way, I think she’ll probably end up being a sword. Shadow doesn’t really have any noteworthy sword units at the moment, so that’d be nice.

Once we get into March I might start saving for her, but for now I’m probably gonna put some resources into the new dragon banner, since all of the featured ones really interest me [especially Apollo since I don’t have him yet], and I just got Epimetheus so now I’m done with the Valentine’s banner.

That also reminds me that at this point it’s basically confirmed that both Epimetheus and the three old Valentine’s adventurers are permanent now, which is really interesting. I guess this means that later this year they’ll make the old Halloween and Christmas units permanent, too. That’d be a nice way to keep introducing new holiday units without it getting bloated and hard to manage. And honestly most of the older holiday units aren’t particularly good anymore, so there’s no real harm in making them permanent. RIP in pieces to all the people who whaled for V-Hilde, though, lol. Maybe now that she’s permanent she has a chance of getting a mana spiral to make her better.

Anyway, I’ve felt a little let down by some of the recent story chapters, but I ended up really liking this one. Now I’m excited to see what reveals and developments the next chapter brings.

I’m also still extremely hyped about the upcoming shadow mana spiral batch, and the new Agito fight. I’m still clinging onto my pipe dream wish of them improving Norwin by making him more like V-Addis or Natalie. I’ve actually been thinking some more about the different ways that could go [even after I made a whole post about it lmao], and I think it’d be interesting if in addition to adding an enmity effect to his S1, they added an effect to his S2 where he takes non-lethal damage relative to the amount of damage he does to the enemy with the skill, as a way to manually get him down to low health. So I guess in that case he’d be more like a shadow version of Chelsea, which could be fun. I also think there’s a lot of interesting things they could do with him by, say, adding a team health regen effect to his Blind = Team Strength ability. But who knows. I just want him to get some special attention and become genuinely good because I really love him, lol. Though in general I like the idea of them using mana spiral upgrades to basically give certain characters a whole different play-style. Sorta like how Karl can now be used more or less as a buffer, but that has more to do with D-Rathalos than Karl’s mana spiral. It’s still an interesting way to give older units a niche in the meta.
