In just one week we have collectively raised over $1,000 in aid going towards Gaza!!

In total I received receipts for 30 donations over the past week, and you will see the rest of those dragons posted over the course of this week. I cannot convey how grateful I am to everyone who donated, no matter the amount.

Nothing gives me more hope than knowing there are other people who care about the lives of others, who are willing to do their part in the struggle against genocide and occupation.

the Sketch vs the Outcome

This piece is from the very bottom of my heart. These past 6 months, it’s been difficult to find the motivation to create. The thing I loved doing most suddenly felt so mundane. The ability to sit in the window and draw in peace and safety is a luxury I felt guilty about for quite some time.. and still do. I’d pick up my pen to sketch out my feelings and nothing would come of it but the names of the children whose corpses will be enshrined in my mind for the rest of my life. The first thing on my mind in the morning and the last thing on my mind before I sleep at night, is the Palestinians.

I owe the creation of this work to the Palestinians, whose steadfastness and unwavering faith and patience has not only inspired me, but completely changed my perception of this life. They have shown me that creating is never ever mundane. And it is important to create, especially in dark times, especially when the world is changing. It is important to find expression beyond words when there are no words to express what is happening. It is important to create even when it makes people uncomfortable - even when it makes the artist uncomfortable.

Every stroke in this piece was intuitive and it ties every pain, wish, and prayer swirling in my head, these 200 days, into a neatly woven tapestry of love and passion for the Freedom of the Palestinian people.

I'm currently doing art commissions to help raise money to donate to Gaza!

The citizens of Gaza are facing starvation, Rafah is the most densely populated city and it's been getting bombed, and as of right now at least 29K Palestinians have been martyred. I'm doing furry art commissions to raise funds to help feed and free them.

This is just an unofficial solo thing, heavily inspired by the Artist/Cartoonists for Gaza movement.

How it works:

You'll send me proof of donation through DMs. You can censor out identifiable information, of course. If your name on the donation and the name on your paypal matches, I can accept that. This proof can be an eSim purchased for Gaza (tutorial on how to do that here), a donation to the GoFundMe's of palestinian families trying to escape, to UNRWA or the PCRF, etc.

And I will either draw a shaded PFP of your sona with Watermelon facepaint like Elora's; (pls note this shading job is a rough one, I was just desperate to get this post out. Here's a much better example of how I shade)

OR: If you've donated a lot, I'll discount the donation amount from a regular commission. My prices can be found here.

Even if you don't have proof of donation, I'll be donating up to 20$ with every regular commission I receive

This is Bisan Owda (@wizard_bisan1 on IG), she's a young journalist who's been documenting the daily life in Gaza, Palestine since before October of last year and continues to do so now, as her and her family have been displaced by Israel, her home and workplace destroyed in the bombings.
