link is a little asshole and calls revali his sweet little cucco ❤️ because he fr the type to say shitty pickup lines after looking at the bird descriptions in his hyrule compendium like "are you a hotfeather pigeon? because you've got me feeling hotter than death mountain" or "you must be a bright-chested duck because your meat is definitely fat and high quality ;)" (revali actually threw him out of their roost into totori lake for that one and his feathers were poofed up for hours)

in contrast, revali's pet names for link are actually very sweet and meaningful, and are only spoken in the most besotted manner possible; "my jewel/my treasure" because the rito have the bird instinct to hoard shiny things and eventually become bored of them, but revali is completely enamored with link, hair golder than amber and eyes brighter than the most lustrous of sapphires.

revali also calls link "songbird", because i love the headcanon that all the links are musically inclined and i hc that botw!link is an incredible singer, with a smooth and soothing singing voice. he sings once with kass's children at warbler's nest for funsies and revali is absolutely mesmerized by link's voice, but teasingly calls him "songbird" and it sticks! link is his beautiful little songbird and revali falls in love a little more when link sings for him <3
