FINALLY finished this manip of making Jasmine be in daytime colors. Still don't have an actual video where I'm planning on using it, but I'm sure I can use it at some point xD
Thinking about that color correction/grading post I made yesterday, and thinking about Garrett Gilchrist's 4K restoration of Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure, which I watched recently.
And thinking about how much it bugged me how much of the film looked washed out. So I grabbed it off the internet archive and played around with it a bit.
(Garrett's on the left, mine on the right)
And like, I don't want to step on anyone's toes here or anything, but this took me like... 30 minutes to find the right levels that I think boost the quality of this significantly. I think Garrett does some really spectacular, necessary work, but it needed just a little more.
And again, I'm by no means a professional at this. There are undoubtedly better ways to bring out color and contrast than what I've done here. It's just a simple example.
