Valerie Jaudon is an original member of the Pattern and Decoration movement. Her art has been written about consistently in books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and catalogs. She is the co-author, with Joyce Kozloff, of the widely anthologized Art Hysterical Notions of Progress and Culture (1978), in which she and Kozloff explained how they thought sexist and racist assumptions underlaid Western art history discourse. They reasserted the value of ornamentation and aesthetic beauty - qualities assigned to the feminine sphere.

Battle of Arcole

The Battle of Arcole (15-17 November 1796), or Arcola, was a three-day battle fought between Napoleon Bonaparte's French Army of Italy and an Austrian army under József Alvinczi. Part of Napoleon's Italian Campaign, the battle foiled Austria's third attempt to relieve the siege of Mantua and helped lead to France's success in the broader War of the First Coalition (1792-1797).

In aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Jamie will be taking to the stage on December 4th in Uncle Glen’s Menagerie.

Uncle Glen’s Menagerie sees performers thrown together for a fun, unexpected set of performances. Recreating famous scenes, the actor goes in knowing the script, while pitched against an improviser who does exactly that, and while knowing absolutely nothing, they have to work out the scene.

Taking place at the Arcola Theatre in London THIS Sunday, for one night only!

Also featuring: Dan Bakkedahl, Charlotte Gittins, Susannah Fielding, Nikesh Patel, Steen Raskopoulos, Marli Siu, Obioma Ugoala, Niamh Walsh and Michaela Watkins.

We’ve made amazing legal progress, all met up at Arcola, grew as a community, and had an amazing livestream to celebrate yesterday and all of our accomplishments so far! I say this often, but RARE truly changed the trajectory of my life. I’m so proud of how far we have come and so excited for what lies ahead.
