"Archie isn't well fleshed out" this, "Archie isn't a good character" that, you guys do realize that Archie somehow has a more fleshed out backstory than at least half of the main cast. I mean, if you put together the lines "never been to a wedding before," "You have hope. It's nice," "it's just life," "they get away with it, it's just kind the way things go," the multiple snake cult references, the story about wrestling the python, and the story about cutting her way out of a snake, you get as much backstory as Lucius (who in canon has the three bits of "master of breakups," "Bit of a pickpocket back in the day," and "my mother thought I liked girls for years"). Like, there were a lot of problems with the writing this season (hell, the way that the writers executed the poly storyline with the Jim and Olu and Zheng parts was definitely part of it), but Archie was actually pretty well-handled, imo (even if the lack of push back on the "they just get away with this sort of thing" statement made me sad for her).

On that OFMD Season 3 news...

Welp I was very much not expecting when writing a "Season Three" to my OFMD AU series that I would go one season beyond the TV show. I've had some very mixed feelings about Season 2 of the show (I wouldn't have written 284k words of fanfic otherwise), but some part of my heart, despite having lost a lot of trust in the writers, still wanted to see some genuine poly content in the show. Alas, we won't be getting it.

But if anyone wants a comfort now (just as a lot of us wanted comfort after the finale), I do have a series with a lot of poly rep, asexual characters, disability rep (by a disabled writer), religious/plant symbolism, Captain Oluwande, romantically charged sparring, intimacy arcs, hurt/comfort, complicated female characters, a lot of effort put into character development, and a lot of exploration of Jim, Lucius, Izzy, Archie, Olu, and Pete. Hope it can take some of the sting off of the cancellation!
