for once i dont rly have super many thoughts abt an au ? tbh ? like its been very difficult for me to come up with ideas since i dont know that much abt vampires n i dont know that much abt catholicism/christianity

a little of what ive had in mind so far though is cwil is this very lonely priest with no family left who took over the church for his late father - but doesnt actually believe in god all that much, just pretends for the sake of keeping something

then one night some mysterious guy shows up near closing hours and wilbur is already pretty scared for no other reason than just the vibes . they dont talk but after a while of wil staring the pretty guy just gives him a big smile and leaves

the mysterious guy is vampire cquackity, hes just here cause he was hiding away from a hunter (probably ctechno filling this role)

in this universe vampires arent particularly affected by religion itself but just weakened by faith . quackity couldnt feel anything coming from the church, so he assumed it was empty since it was late anyway . turns out there is someone there ! but it doesnt effect him, and quackity realizes the priest himself has no faith, and becomes very interested

because of this new found fascination quackity decides to come back at a similar hour every day, and luckily for him barely anyone is there on weekdays/past 6pm, so he doesnt have to worry about being weakened (and especially not for hunters since they wouldnt expect a vampire to be in a church) . wilbur and him still havent talked but quackity still has fun observing his behaviour, and wilbur just feels a teensy bit less lonely having someone come back so consistently and every single day while he closes

one day however when wilbur decides hes finally gonna talk to this guy, quackity isnt there, and wilburs so confused as to why he feels so sad about it . why does he miss the presence of this stranger hes never even talked to ? he spends the whole rest of the night distracted thinking about the mysterious guy

the next day at around 3-4am when wilbur enters the church to start his day, he sees the presence he missed so much yesterday

though wilburs not as happy as he should be, as the stranger is covered in blood next to a corpse and about to jump him

so yea idk ive been trying to work on the fic, hopefully i actually manage to get smth cool outta it and post it but we'll see !! for now im just drawing the blorbos

now i've definitely made jokes about a tntduo death note au nonnie but i can't freaking find any of the posts

i do think it would be extremely funny to ditch a death note full speed at c!wilbur's head if only because he would generate the weirdest complex about it... ohhh he's so touched by death by rot and decay even the words he puts to paper are cursed by it... a notebook swept in between sheafs of presidential speeches and scores written in shorthand... always hovering at the edge of his subconscious, and he whispers to tommy in that ravine (brags to techno, who pretends he isn't wigged out by the whole thing) that he could fix all their problems, it would all go away if he wrote down the list of names kept long as an unburnt matchstick in his mind -

but i don't think he would actually use it lol. or rather i think he would test it once and feel so fucking sick he wouldn't touch it again. wilbur does some terrible shit at times but most of that is either 1. openly suicidal, just with a shitload of collateral damage (see november 16, his confrontation with dream in inconsolable differences, most of his mucking around with TNT in pogtopia in general) or 2. unduly influenced by his own damn incompetence (HITTING ON SIXTEEN SO BAD. ALSO INCONSOLABLE DIFFERENCES AGAIN). even in pogtopia he has a hesitation around killing schlatt, around committing to blowing up l'manberg, that is kind of sick and kind of so fascinating. which i guess is why i'm still posting about him lmao. but anyway i think he would make a lot of empty threats (and a lot of almost eye-roll-worthily verbose statements about the nature of death and his relationship to it) but he would struggle to commit to using it. wilbur wants to be ruthless but he's just too easily distracted.

OH THIS DOES REMIND ME similar wavelength but like. months ago in clout farm we ended up talking about a death note au where phil is L and wilbur + techno + tommy are horribly vying to avenge him in their own ways while being split down the middle with grief. i think techno officially inherited phil's role and wilbur sort of cast himself out of their little family, tommy in tow....... naturally not processing his grief/anger/self-blame over phil's death at all and throwing himself into this competitive nightmare instead. and techno just does not play that kind of game and is equally pissed/running out of patience with wilbur's desertion, and tommy is torn between the two of them until he tries to strike out on his own and is killed by kira for his effort.......

ummmm to distract from the Everything why not do a series abt the music that inspired open arms

obviously first up is the series' eponymous song, open arms by journey. i grew up listening to them & this track was always one of my favorjtes, and when it came time to find a theme for this series i couldn't think of anything better than "here i am with open arms, hoping you'll see what your love means to me"

we're takin this fic by fic now. leap of faith is titled after the view from the porch by treis, one of my Favorite artists. the full lyric is "fall with me for once, make it worth a song/it's not a leap of faith if you don't take the jump" and i thought that was the perfect way to encapsulate the budding relationship & internal struggles of this fic

like you were never gone comes from if you ever come back by the script! another band i listened to heavily growing up, and this track was on repeat as i tried to mend the fiances' relationship. the song is about being broken up and wishing, despite it all, that the other person will change their mind and come back. "there'll be a light in the hall and the kettle on, and it'll be just like you were never gone" was a sentiment i wanted to follow throughout the story

ch1 of lywng is titled after the eponymous adele song: don't you remember? admittedly a little heavy handed but cmon. cmon. it works both for the fiances' unintentional separation And karl's memory: "i often think about where i went wrong/the more i do, the less i know" and "don't you remember the reason you loved me before?"

almost (sweet music) is just One Of Those Songs for me (hozier my beloved), and admittedly the Entire vibe doesn't match but "be still, my foolish heart, don't ruin this on me" is so ch3 sapnapcore it hurts. he's struggling to keep everything together and is trying to keep Himself together, and doesn't want irrationality to affect anything

chapter four <;3 good now by phangs is about finding peace in a relationship after previous rocky ones ("i tend to look for things to go wrong/but i stopped looking with you"), and despite struggling to adjust, feeling relief at finally being Happy. and that's the ending i wanted to deliver!

walk towards love's chapters aren't lyric based but the fic itself is based off the jon bellion song to my future wife. the line that most stood out to me is part of the fic's summary: "they say love's a winding road, but it's simple if we both walk towards love" because. the five of them are going through hell as the fiances try to get married but holding onto their love for each other is what makes everything worth it.

honorable mention to ceefundy as well. i wouldn't say he's unpopular unpopular but goddamn. despite the fact he's so interesting and cool and inpactful and represents huge chunks of Core Themes, he just gets ignored and infantalized and has so much of his story plain Erased because it's inconvenient to other characters. c!Quackity canonically has a fat ass + why that fact actually has some narrative importance for his character

Yeah I’m making a whole post about the surprisingly controversial size of Quackity’s ass, just, stick with me here. also heads up im gonna stop sayin “c!” and just saying the names but just know im only talking abt characters lol

Anyway. First of all, let’s discuss the opposite belief: Quackity is a flatty patty. It was a running joke on the smp, and it was started by Schlatt the day after they won the election. The days before when they had planned their joint presidency, Schlatt had established that Quackity’s whole value and purpose in the cabinet was for him to be pretty and have a fat ass. Now, do we really trust Schlatt’s judgement? The man was a drunk and just plain abusive. I’m not entirely sure if the other members of the Manburg cabinet joined in, but I know that if they did it wasn’t nearly as often as Schlatt, so he was definitely the spearhead of the “flat ass q” truthers. But, even Schlatt contradicted himself from time to time. He said multiple times, including his death scene, that Quackity and his “fat ass” left him, even though he later said “flatty patty” as his last words. Basically, tldr, i think Schlatt’s opinion is irrelevant and he contradicts himself too much to be taken seriously.

Alternatively, there are multiple scenes of Wilbur being caught staring at Q’s ass, anywhere between the very beginning of the elections all the way to Niki’s birthday party. Once when building the White House, once during the stream “we must get voters”, once when Tommy and Q told him about Plan Ass, and honestly probably a few more times that i just don’t remember right now. I trust him a bit more because hes fruity because he had no reason to make Quackity, his rival, feel better about his body. Plus, they even thought his ass was a solid enough plan to actually try out.

Now for why it matters narratively.

Schlatt changed Quackity and I think we all know that. He belittled Quackity all the time and I believe a lot of the way he thinks is built off of that now. I think he has been put down by people like Schlatt (and even Techno just by not treating him as a real threat) so much that he now has this concept that everyone looks at him that way, like hes worthless and can’t do anything right because all he’s good for is his looks.

I feel like a very important part of this is that he actually does look the way Schlatt initially said he did, but Schlatt then made him think that was what he should put all his worth into and used that information to hurt Q and emphasize that Schlatt was the leader and Quackity was nothing. And obviously, Schlatt calling Quackity stuff like flatty patty did hurt him a lot, because what if it was true? What if Schlatt was right and he was worthless now? It really pissed him off to hear it (and still does it seems) and in that first stream he immediately got to work on a workout thing that would make him have a fatter ass and kept calling Schlatt over to see if he approved or if he was proud. It was fucked up honestly.

Now he’s trying to work past that. He’s trying to be the big powerful guy who can do whatever he wants. We can see that a lot in how he always tries to prove that he could defeat Techno (someone he has a serious grudge against) and can crush Dream’s spirit. Mf has always been obsessed with power, the only difference is that now he has better weapons, armor, and a country of his own. Maybe that’s why he sounded so smug sending Wilbur away. He really thought “thats right, im better than Wilbur, this is my country and its stronger and better and it doesn’t need you.” Plus now he’s seeing that Wilbur respects him as an opponent, so he’s just as addicted to this rivalry as Wilbur is.

Long story short:

1. A few months ago I was drawing Quackity and thought “wait do i give him a fat ass or no” and ever since, I’ve cared about the answer to that question way too much.

im also not a very good writer i just like dsmp characters and also zombie apocalypse shit/specifically twd so idk how well recieved itll be. its gonna be true to twd in how bittersweet it is (i have the entire thing planned and an outline written, two and a quarter chapters out of 5 are done so its not like its a monster of a fic but its def heavy) however its also gonna stay true to dsmp characters arcs (ie very ccrime lmanburg to pogtopiacore and also tntduo/fiances shit) so im ADDITIONALLY terrified ppl wont get that and think im writing abt the ccs which 1. why the fuck would anyone do that and 2. i dont care abt these boring men outside of their funny little fictional characters. so idk. anxiety making me think in circles like a sick dog.
