Yeah i almost stopped watching after bea's death as well, it was a big let down. i haven't forgiven Joan for that, but, she's also SUCH a compelling character with a lot of repressed feelings/urges.. So a whole lot happened since bea's death, sorry for the long message lol.

Joan manipulated her way into being top dog. She revealed to Vera that Jake was only hitting on her because she paid him too, while Vera was pregnant with his child. It escalates in Will & Jake burying her alive (then Vera becomes an accomplice). Then "she" (or her acolyte?) comes back to haunt them, stalk them, blackmail them, and threatens Vera. Two seasons later Joan is confirmed to be alive, living as a homeless person under a new identity, and she's obsessing about Vera and wants to kidnap her child. The police succeeds in arresting her again, but she then? splits? her identity, pushes down the old Joan, and becomes amnesiac. This coincidentally could help her get out of the murder charges against her, so Vera calls bullshit on that and is bent on proving the old Joan is still there…. to the point of drugging her, which actually triggers her old self to resurface.

Joan tries to keep up her facade, but she does remember being buried alive and her violent impulses are back- except she's also developing some actual empathy for other, and somewhat wants to protect Vera? Sometimes? Like she HATES Will and Jake for having tried to kill her, and she taunts Vera a lot, but she also wants to hurt Jake specifically because he played Vera (even if SHE is the one who ordered him to do it). When Vera finally gets (illegal) proof from the therapist that Joan has regained her memory, Joan attempts to blackmail her over the "buried me alive" thing and plays the "what will happen to your child without her parents" card. Vera still decides to speak up in court so that Joan won't walk free, but right before she can (and possibly get prosecuted over it), Joan steps up and admit she's been lying, just to protect her (my feels). Then, during the finale, a bomb went off and, in the ensuing chaos, Vera was almost strangled to death by her ex-friend. Cue to Joan emerging from behind her, snapping the assailant's neck, then carrying Vera bridal style out of the prison. Very fucking romantic. She then disappears in the distance and Vera decides to let her pass for dead.

i'm sure i'm forgetting things despite the length, but the constant power play between these two, the obsession Joan develops over Vera, ahh... She's always toying with her, balancing her "i want to destroy you because you are weak", "i want revenge on you because you hurt me", "i need your child to be mine", with some genuine protectiveness and tenderness and, dare i say, love.

hii, sorry i'm answering so late!!! i don't know if you meant countries i want to visit or countries i've already visited so i'm opting for the second option. i haven't traveled a lot in my life but i've seen a few lovely places :)

scotland!! i went to skye and edinburgh a few years ago (with my mom <3) and i have a very fond memory of absolutely everything there.

italy. art everywhere museums everywhere!!! i've visited Italy twice and i'm eventually planning to visit again wtih my italian grandma if i find the time and money to do so

netherlands. i was 15 or 16 when i visited the netherlands and couldn't even be a grumpy teenager the whole time. funny story but when i arrived to amsterdam, i though "wow there's a lot of people and a lot of rainbows" before seeing three guys in full leather uniforms and understanding i was in the middle of the gay pride.

england. i've only been to london twice but it was fun.

france. okay so technically i live there but i'm running out of countries. anyway it's cheaper to visit your own country and you can also discover some pretty cool places. i've had keys of medieval churches nobody are allowed to visit anymore, how cool is that.

i'm planning to go to ireland and maybe norway if i ever have the occasion :^)
