“I’m wearing an antique quilt jacket from Feur De Flea in Louisville, KY, vintage Evan-Picone pants, vintage Camper boots, vintage beret, and a secondhand H&M blouse. I love color, and mixing patterns and textures in a whimsical way. If it makes me smile, I notice others tend to smile as well. If I’m going to a party with lots of strangers, I tend to wear something that could be an icebreaker. Plus, I try to find everything secondhand! Then I’m more likely to be able to afford it.”

back in 2019 I went to an antique clothing store and, while merrily perusing a rack of Victwardian undergarments, discovered that all of the drawers and combinations had had their crotch seams whipstitched shut. one or two, I could have excused as transitional or pieces that had been used later for stage costumes, but all of them, I had to ask about
and the owner told me
that customers had been scandalized by the open crotches, and so she had to stitch them closed

“I’m wearing a 40s Saks Fifth Avenue dress from Stella Dallas, antique hand embroidered Chinese robe from Beacon Ccloset by way of Gilt Ridden Gal, vintage earrings and necklace from Lauras Vintage. My style has evolved a lot over the years, but I’ve always loved vintage and thrifted clothing. Especially jackets! I love to play with color, pattern and textiles to pull something together that feels like it could represent an era but is still unique. I’m still deciding what works best for me in terms of personal style, but having a lot of fun in the process.”
