You wanna know what makes me angry? The fact that Vaggie had the AUDACITY to sing More Than Anything. I saw a great post about Vaggie’s songs and why they don’t hit, but More Than Anything just makes me so angry. That should have been a song reserved for Charlie and Lucifer. That was *their song.* Now, keep in mind, my father and I have a very good relationship and we have a ton of inside jokes, so my thoughts are probably a little biased when it comes to a father/daughter relationship. But Vaggie singing that song gives me the same vibe as someone saying an inside joke that don’t even understand. That was the song that brought Lucifer and Charlie together after so many years. Then Vaggie comes along and snatches it like it was free real estate!! It’s crazy and infuriates me to no end.

Can we talk about the fact that TOH, a kid's show that aired on the Disney channel, has an unironically a better gay/sapphic relationship with Lumity than either of these "adult shows"?
Tumblr media
Lumity is an incredibly well-developed ship; Its gradually built up throughout season 1 and season 2A and they don't drag the shit out of it, they are just incredibly cute together. The ship isn't abusive and toxic...
Tumblr media
...unlike Stolitz, which is a very toxic ship where the victim is portrayed as the abuser and the abuser is framed as just an UwU soft boy. Another thing about Lumity that makes it a good relationship is the fact that Amity is her own character; she isn't solely defined by Luz, her relationship with Luz is an important part of her character, sure, but she still has a lot of development in the series that makes her a well-developed, three-dimensional character.
Tumblr media
Compare that to Chaggie, which while not nearly as bad as Stolitz, still has issues, that being how Vaggie's character entirely revolves around Charlie, she doesn't have any real development outside of that. There is the stuff about her being a fallen angel but we'll have to see what the show does with it to make a full judgment, but the reveal that she is a fallen angel feels too rushed to give her depth.
Vaggie doesn't feel like her own character, she feels like she's completely defined by her relationship with Charlie, and she doesn't have that much of a character outside of that. Amity meanwhile, is her own character beyond her relationship with Luz, even in Season 2 where people say that supposedly Amity became just "Luz's girlfriend", she still had that whole conflict with her parents.
Tumblr media
Lumity is infinitely superior to both of these ships guys.
Then again TOH blows HH/HB out of the water in every single aspect so...

Part of why I ship Charlastor over Chaggie other than how one has more chemistry over the other, is that with Charlastor... I can literally see the building blocks for them to be a ship.
Like as Alastor helps Charlie with the Hotel and sees more of her, he would start to slowly fall for her. And it could also be that type of dynamic where they teach each other something.
Alastor teaches Charlie to embrace her power as the Princess of Hell and how to use it to it's full potential, while Charlie teaches him how to be a more decent person and let people in to help him.
Yessss
Though I have to admit that my favorite flavor of Charlastor is the one where Alastor doesn't even really change as a person, Charlie just becomes the sole exception to his personal rules and she embraces him completely for who he is 😩👌
Everything nice he does as a result would be exclusively for Charlie's benefit then if not for his own.
I also think it's a fun way to challenge Charlie's biased belief system of "everyone deserves a second chance and is capable of being better" by making her fall in love with someone who's an unapologetic, violent asshole to everyone but her but will behave if she asked it of him, who makes her feel loved, important and powerful like nobody else has ever managed to and has a genuine desire to help her in any way he can - including all of the immoral and fucked up ways.
I also love me some Alastor who's internally at war with himself - on one hand being in love with Charlie hasn't changed him as a person and she truly embraces him for all he is, but he still finds himself unable to ignore how she'd feel about certain actions and is desperate for her approval and attention, so she's still inadvertently influencing him and reduces the amount of violent urges he acts on by just being someone whose opinion he gives a shit about.
He both loves and hates it, she's his weakness and his greatest strength, his inspiration and muse and the bane of his fucking existence. He would move mountains, obliterate cities and fight god with his bare fucking hands for her if she asked him nicely, but she won't because she's a reasonable and sweet person who worries for his safety and wellbeing.
She's self-sacrificial and recklessly giving, but he's there to ground and catch her when she flies too close to the sun and will happily execute her will wherever she falls short.
In turn she keeps him sane, gives him something to genuinely want to fight for, someone to come home to without tying him down... She's love and light and goodness he never thought himself to be deserving of
Like. I know a lot of us will happily indulge in all the ways these two would be toxic for each other, but I also deeply adore their potential to be such a mutually beneficial, healthy relationship, much to the surprise of everyone at the hotel, including themselves!

Someone unironically made a tiktok post that said 'The reason you all hate Chaggie is because it isn't oversexualized lesbians.' and another that I saw less then a minute later unironically said 'The reason you guys are shipping Charlastor and not Chaggie is because you're homophobic.' (Both are mildly paraphrased)
First of all, that's not true. I am gay. Charlastor literally have something going for itself other then the lack of anything that Chaggie had. Vaggie had nothing about herself that wasn't somehow about Charlie. Literally everything revolved around her. She had no personality. Alastor does outside of Charlie.
Vaggie does not give a fuck about any of Charlie's goals. She has no investment in redemption. She is only doing it because Charlie wants her to, and it's abundantly obvious that she doesn't care about the Sinners, even the ones who she is supposed to be close to.
Alastor doesn't really care about it, but he is invested. Yes, it's not because he cares in the same way that Charlie does, but he is there not because Charlie asked, but because he wants to be there. He is there to be entertained, but he assists Charlie because he wants to.
Vaggie also just enables Charlie's stupidity and willful ignorance, but Alastor doesn't feed into it.
Also, the lack of sex is very odd. Both of them are presumably sexual, neither are Ace, so it would make sense we would at least get some clues. But it seems more like Chaggie is just the stereotyped lesbian couple of 'Pure no sex lesbians, one is mean and the other is a soft baby'. It's a Vivziepop show. The lack of sex between them is very odd. Not why I don't like it, but just a comment.
There are other reasons that I hate Vaggie, but this is a post specifically about her relationship with Charlie and why it sucks.

Quick post about something I noticed, Vaggie..., one Chaggie shipper posted about how Charlie and Vaggie are cute together and ok, most of the screenshots are of them together as a couple in the show, but... thanks to this person caught my eye two situations from the final fight, which in my opinion are rather disturbing and reflect poorly on the future of Vaggie and her relationship with Charlie. We know that Charlie wants to bring redemption and believes that everyone deserves a second chance, she gave this example Vaggie's second chance, forgiving her lie about being an angel (apart from the fact that it was too quick and unnatural in my opinion), we see her convince Lucifer to have mercy on Adam. And below we have two interesting situations with Vaggie:
First, when Charlie and Vaggie fight together, Charlie enjoys fighting with Vaggie together:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And after a while:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charlie sees Vaggie murdering an angel, sees her aggression, and instead of the smile and joy on Charlie's face, we see more shock and disbelief at how her beloved girl could be so brutal..., as if she was only now starting to see that she didn't know Vaggie 100%
And the last screenshot from the moment when Niffty kills Adam and you know Niffty, it's Niffty, crazy and unbalanced, while everyone else is terrified of it, including Lucifer, everyone except... Vaggie..., the only person who (apart from Niffty) is happy from Adam's death:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my opinion, Charlie and Vaggie only know each other superficially, especially Charlie doesn't know Vaggie, she didn't know she was an angel, she was shocked by her brutality in fighting, I'll be surprised if in the future, in the next season(s), we don't get more rifts between them, in my opinion, this relationship is based on superficial knowledge of each other, the fact that they have been together for 5 years (I read somewhere that they have been together for that long, please correct me if not) does not mean that they know each other, and it is clearly visible that they don't , they probably lived together in peace, without any big situations or events, and now, when the plot starts to happen, more and more, it may turn out at some point that these two women who supposedly love each other are completely strangers to each other (as a certain Greek proverb goes: "You learn more about a person after an hour of playing than after a year of talking"), I'm sorry, but the more I look at Chaggie's relationship and compare it with other Viv couples, including those from Hazbin Hotel, that we can say that they are partially canon, like Huskerdust or Cherri and Sir Pent, and even Vox and Val in my opinion have more chemistry than Chaggie, I can't help but feel that this relationship was created only as bait... , which will fall apart in the future...

Am I the only one who hates the main characters in HH and HB? Like damn, we got Deadpool wannabe and a dumb Disney Princess! Honestly, I don’t think there’s anyone who likes Charlie how she is in the series! (RIP Pilot versions of these characters.)
They’re trying WAY too hard to make Blitzø seem cool and sympathetic, but in retrospect he’s just making me cringe :/
Charlie, as stated before, is a DUMB Disney Princess, like holy shit girl, you’re so braindead that Vagatha has to do all the work and basically run YOUR hotel! (Vivziepop sees herself as Charlie, which explains why she’s portrayed as a white savior and there aren’t any consequences to her actions.)
Tumblr media
Blitz does have his moments, but his character for some reason got worse in season two, just like the storytelling in general.

Why do people find it weird that some people complain about the lack of sexual representation in the Chaggie relationship ? This is the world of Vivziepop, set in hell, where even the most adorable and holy couples unequivocally demonstrate an active and healthy sex life. Most even do tongue kissing. So why would Chaggie be the exception ? As far as I know, unlike Alastor, none of them are asexual ? Why then no insinuation of a sex life ? Why no tongue kisses ? It seems that Chaggie unfortunately represents the cliché of the asexual lesbian couple. In the sense that a couple of girls often had “prudish” or “pure” representations. Even when we see the bed they share, when Vaggie is in bed, Charlie's side doesn't seem to have been unmade and there is another conversion on top of the original one on the bed ! As if Charlie and Vaggie slept with separate blankets, Vaggie under the covers and Charlie on top with his personal blanket ! WTF ?! Maybe it's nothing. But this detail combined with Chaggie's lack of sexual representation really doesn't help. This is the closest thing to “horny” we could get from them for the moment :
Tumblr media
I think it's as much due to certain clichés, as I stated, of girls couples, but also the fact that apparently Vivziepop decided to make Chaggie a couple at the last minute, thus explaining their lack of general development. And it's sad. Because Chaggie has potential and deserves better.

Why Vaggie's songs doesn't hit as hard as the other songs
Hey it's time to criticize Vaggie some more and why she fails at being her own character!
And it's her songs that we're gonna be looking at!
First off, Whatever it Takes
Now this song takes place after the Overlord Meeting and Vaggie's attempts at the bonding exercises fail, Carmilla's part is about she'll do whatever it takes to protect her daughters and that makes sense.
But Vaggie's part is about... how much she loves Charlie and how she'll do whatever it takes... to help make Charlie's dreams come true.
Tumblr media
Uh, I think we already got that across already? Why is Vaggie's part in this song just repeating what we already know about her? Shouldn't this be giving us more about Vaggie in order to actually care about her?
She loves Charlie, okay. She wants to help make the hotel a success, that's fine. But the bigger question is what else is there?
And this problem kind of bleeds into Out for Love too.
Now don't get me wrong, this song is a fucking banger! But the problem is that it's a banger OUT OF CONTEXT! Much like how I said More than Anything Reprise is also good but out of context.
The basic gist of this song is Carmilla telling Vaggie instead of fighting in anger and rage, she should be fighting for love.
Which is a good message... but wasn't that what Vaggie was already doing? Since she wanted to help defend the hotel and make it up to Charlie about the whole her being an angel?
Now if it was made more clear that she was fighting for vengeance and was angry at her secret being exposed, that would make more sense.
Again this is just repeating what we already know without giving us anything new. If you don't give us anything else about a character other than what we already know, it kind of exposes just how much of a stagnant character you created.
Also side note! I don't like Vaggie's singing voice. It just sounds unnaturally high compared to her regular voice, to which no hate to her voice actress! As I'm sure she did the best she could with what she was given.
But overall Vaggie's songs or songs related to her failed to win me over due to it's repetition of telling us what we already know about her.

I applaud Chaggie shippers for finding the exact two seconds of every episode of Hazbin that make their relationship feel like something interesting and worth investing emotional energy in. Like did you know she they were maybe flirting during their first encounter while Vaggie was unable to get up and bleeding out her eye? That would be such a sweet and funny scene if we saw it, but it passed so quick I missed the implication entirely.

Is it just me, or are some of Viv's characters just cheap knock-offs of actually well designed and well written characters?
Like:
Carmilla Carmine with her pointy shoes and even pointer hairstyle...
Tumblr media
... looks like some weird bland version of Camille Ferros from League of Legends.
Tumblr media
Maggie (I'm not calling her V*ggie)...
Tumblr media
... is just a boring version of Cassandra from Tangled.
Tumblr media
And last but not least, Charlie Morningstar...
Tumblr media
... is just Rapunzel, but dumber and more naive and adorkable but in an annoying way. At least Rapunzel had a good reason to act the way she does, and we see her character growth from a sheltered 18-year-old girl who is just learning about the world around her and is not afraid to trow a punch (or beat someone with a pan) to a worthy still optimistic but not naive future queen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rapunzel and Cassandra are best friends and have more chemistry than Chaggie, who are supposed to be girlfriends.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Yeah, no chemistry and lack of real meat to.vaggie. she should have stayed a sinner.

Is it just me or that charlie has more chemistry with some angel she met for 30 minutes rather than her own girlfriend for 5 years?
You mean with Emily?
Even tho I don't see their relationship potentially romantic, yeah, I can agree, cuz at least Emily supported Charlie bc their views were similar and Emily actually waa agree with Charlie and had her own reasons to follow her and they made a great duo. While with Vaggie it just doesn't work, cuz the ohh reason why Vaggie supports Charlie's idea is bc she's her gf. She doesn't have any normal reason, goal or motive. She just does what Charlie wants, she's not an actual character, more of just an instrument and Charlie's pet, so they just don't make any chemistry, bc Vivien has no idea how to write good female characters and especially wlw couples

I read your post about Chaggie and it reminded me of how I recently made a rewrite of Vaggie to make her more interesting.
For one, NOT make her a love interest right off the bat since it's been shown that by doing so it doesn't allow her to be her own character.
Play more into what being an exorcist was like for her, what made her have a change of heart and how she hates herself for what she's done in the past.
Perhaps during one of those exterminations she witnesses a family getting murdered or at least the husband sacrificing himself to let his wife and children get away, seeing how despite being sinful creatures they still have hearts in their own way.
She would look at herself, her sisters and Adam and how they don't act like that at all and wondered if what they were doing is really right.
And from there everything could be the same with the exception of her and Charlie being best friends instead of lovers and have her arc being more focused on wanting to make sure the hotel works so maybe one day SHE could get redeemed herself and feel like a real angel.
sorry ik this response is hella late I just haven't had the brain juice for it until now
Right?!
Tho imo making them an established couple from the get-go isn't even really the issue so much as Vaggie just constantly being sidelined and reduced to "Charlie's protective girlfriend" and their couple dynamic refusing to be anything but wholesome.
It just feels way too much like Vaggie makes being Charlie's main source of support her whole entire identitiy and at times it even feels a little bit one-sided imo?
I completely blame the fact that the narrative lets Charlie be her own character who deals with situations that don't involve Vaggie directly in any capacity, whereas Vaggie's problems all entirely come back to wanting to help Charlie or the hotel (so... in extension, also Charlie)...
And imo anytime they do interact in a romantic way it feels a bit much like the narrative is just pointing at them going "look! They're using pet names and holding hands! Aren't they cute??? Ship them please" and then... do almost nothing with them beyond that, even when given some great opportunities.
One thing that would've actually saved this ship for me would've been if the writers actually allowed them to have a proper fight about the whole former exorcist reveal.
Like why bring that up if it's not actually going to contribute anything to the narrative?!
They could've easily included the fact that Charlie jumped pretty recklessly into a deal with Alastor as something Vaggie is upset over (reasonably so imo), and then have both of them argue about it for a bit, before putting that whole thing aside for the moment because protecting the hotel is more important right now.
Charlie can still have her talk with Rosie about that whole mess and come out of it with a more forgiving mindset, while Vaggie has her little mini-arc with Camilla (tho imo she should've also been established to want revenge way more in order for the song's message to actually hit right).
Then later, when the battle is about to begin, her and Vaggie could sit down and talk about it and then mutually apologize.
THEN they can have their little duet (which - if you ask me - should've been a reprise of Whatever It Takes, not the father/daughter song...)
In canon there was never even? An apology? Charlie was angry about it for like half an episode and then brought Vaggie a souvenir and suddenly everything's fine? I honestly hated that. They had so much potential to finally add something meaningful to the pairing with this plotpoint and yet chose to omit that, and for what?
To keep them 100% wholesome? It removes any nuance that would've helped make their dynamic more interesting to follow along.
I'm just... so disappointed with how painfully bland this pairing is just because canon refused to take any kinds of risks with them :')

A few words about Charlastor
Today I saw this post:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(Sorry, I can't post the link, Twitter doesn't want to work on my computer today :\ )
I will quote it here because it made me think again:
Currently, the closest person to Charlie is Vaggie, while Alastor invades her space, Vaggie and Alastor are opposed to each other, Vaggie wants to run a hotel for Charlie (her whole life is based on Charlie...), while Alastor has his own reasons (more on which later we don't fully know) and the two are portrayed as opposing forces pulling Charlie, Vaggie in one direction and Alastor in the other. Charlie's relationship with Alastor will deepen in future seasons (which the author wrote about, that Alastor and Charlie are the main characters of HH and what we see after the pilot), thus distancing it from Vaggie, which we see already in the first season (and what I wrote posts about ), that Charlie's relationship with Vaggie will surely deteriorate as it goes on, their quarrel over Vaggie's lie was, in my opinion, just the first glitch in their relationship (although not very well written in my opinion anyway), at some point in the story Charlie will had to choose between Vaggie and Alastor (and Niffty):
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And considering the other screenshots, they are either forshadowings only to the fact that in future seasons Charlie will be getting closer to Alastor and away from Vaggie, or they may generally herald Alastor's victory over Vaggie, it depends, they are definitely confirmation that the further the seasons, the more Charlostor's content we will have than Chaggie's, the only question is which one will be the endgame?
Alastor stealing Charlie:
Tumblr media
Significant bed scene, Vaggie wakes up without Charlie, alone, and Charlie is later in bed with Alastor on a heart-shaped pillow:
Tumblr media
Besides, I read about Zoophobia and old sketches of Alastor and Autumn, and in my opinion Autumn reminds me a bit of Charlie... but in order.... First, let's go to Roo or Eve (if you prefer), well, I saw one Tik Tok and I definitely agree with it:
Charlie actually resembles Eve much more than Lilith, it always surprised me that Charlie has more father-like features both in appearance and character, and has none of Lilith's (especially when it comes to her ahem... physical qualities...), but I thought they just made her a typical "daddy's girl" and that's it... but if Eve is Charlie's mother and not Lilith..., we still had Lucifer's comment that he stole from Adam both wives, both Lilith and Eve, and although he married Lilith, he probably slept with Eve..., then the only question arises: why did Lilith decide to raise a child that was not her own?
Roo (Eve):
Tumblr media
Charlie:
Tumblr media
Lilith:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Lucifer:
Tumblr media
Charlie and Eve (Roo) have exactly the same nose, the same lines under their eyes (Charlie in his demonic form has them) and the body sharp is the same, Lucifer by the way does not have a nose (:D), Lilith has a completely different nose, only Eve's nose matches Charlie's....
Moving on, we know that Alastor made a deal with someone, many people speculate that he made it with Lilith, but there are also people who believe that with Roo and I, although I also considered Lilith at the beginning, it was thrown in our faces this 7-year break (that Lilith has not been in Hell for 7 years and Alastor disappeared for 7 years), seems too obvious..., moreover, we know that Lilith had a contract with Adam (end of episode 8), and Adam did not know Alastor, so how could Alastor have an agreement with Lilith and be with her for these 7 years in heaven, if Adam didn't know him at all..., while Roo..., and this is where the issue of Zoophobia begins, i.e. Viv's first idea, where most of the HH characters came from:
Tumblr media
In Zoophobia we had the so-called KayCee, i.e. chaos itself and the main antagonist, interestingly KayCee liked apples (a reference to Eve and her picking an apple from the Garden of Eden, the first sin?):
KayCee had white hair, horns, and the original Alastor was in love with her:
Tumblr media
So KayCee is nothing other than the prototype of Eve.
Moving on, the original Alastor was also obsessed with Autumn, the character of Zoophobia, a blonde deer:
Autumn is a very helpful and good-hearted character and: ,,Although outwardly he appears mature and rational, in reality he is extremely insecure, suffering from low self-esteem. Autumn continues to seek recognition and thanks from others for a little help from him, showing that he needs the appreciation of others. Autumn is also very sensitive and short-tempered: in the webcomic, when Rusty teases him about the little antlers, Autumn explodes in anger and violently scolds him."
Doesn't this in some way resemble the description of Charlie..., a girl with a good heart, wanting to help everyone, and also sometimes quick-tempered (when, for example, heaven rejects her or when Susan pisses her off :D )
So we have Eve, who used to be KayCee, and Charlie, who has a lot of Autumn in her, and if it turns out that Charlie is actually Eve's daughter, Charlie will be a combination of KayCee and Autumn, considering her appearance and character traits are taken from both, two characters that the original Alastor was crazy about ;)
And finally, some shots of Charlie and Alastor:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And remember about Niffty and KeeKee, they are very important, after all they are in the HH logo :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
KeeKee, a pet belonging to Charlie and Niffty, Alastor's ,,pet" ;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry for the long post again, but I just can't keep it short :D
Thank you for reading and have a nice day, evening or night :)
