WOW—I LOVED this one!

The book takes a very common problem for children (and, to be honest, some adults!) and deals with it in a fun way.

Who didn’t go though a moment when they were growing up when the deep end of the swimming pool was too dark to see the bottom properly—and subsequently thought there was a shark (or other monster) down there? That’s Lottie’s dilemma; she wants to swim but can’t because of the “monster” at the bottom of the pool.

And then she imagines Walter into existence. My absolute favourite part was when Lottie recognised his song.

It’s such a fun way to deal with an oh-so common children’s issue. And I loved some of the illustrations where imaginary Walter is doing everything Lottie is, but he’s too big to fit!

This was a good one.
