Jason: You redecorated the league. . . You don't seem the designer type.
Future!Damian: I told all of you I rebuilt the League from the ground.
Jason: You said scratch–
Dick: And you didn't mean literally–
Future!Damian:
Dick:
Dick: Oh my god you did– He did mean literally.
Bruce: You blew up the league of assassin's?
Future!Damian: No, I am not stupid.
Future!Damian: Timothy did.
Future!Damian: Twice.
Bruce: Twice??
Tim:
Tim: You know, I can't even pretend to be surprised on that one. I really would.

I think I've never been more aware of just how many people only get their info of the batfam through fanfic. I finally started reading Red Robin (2009) and I can not believe how many things are blown out of proportion. Particularly about Dick and Damian.
First of all, Dick does try to put limits and he does get fed up with Damian's ways sometimes. Out of the three first interactions of them in the comic, at least in two he tells him to shut up. And one of those is when Damian starts to brag about being Robin and Tim being useless, he tells him to shut up twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing about that moment, is that they treat it like Dick completely dismisses Tim and treats him as unimportant. He doesn't. He takes him seriously, he tells him he needs him, he tells him he views his as an equal, as someone capable. And he also tells him he's concerned about him and that he needs to start processing Bruce's death. Could that have been a little harsh? Yes, but he needed to do it without making Tim think there was room for him to be convinced about his theory because let's be honest, Tim would've taken anything less than complete refusal and tried to change his mind. And had he been wrong neither of them could have taken it.
Secondly, Dick is always left to shoulder the blame of kicking Tim out and of never reaching out. That's bull. And I need to make that clear. Tim was in a delicate point, he tells us this himself multiple times, but the decision to leave was completely made out of his own free will. Another thing he did was put space between him and the people on Gotham. We see only one time in which Dick tries to call him. Tim picks up and tells him he doesn't want to talk. This tells us that Dick respecting Tim's wish of space included almost no (or even no) contact, and Dick calling was not something Tim appreciated or encouraged.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now. Going into the second year of the run, when he's back in Gotham, there's a few things to talk about and I'm still in the aftermath of Damian and Tim's fight.
I feel it's important to say that even if they are all family, more often than not they're doing their own thing. Like, Babs and Steph are in the Batcave while Dick and Damian are in Wayne Tower, Cass is said to potentially be in Hong Kong and we haven't even heard Jason be name-dropped except for the fact that he went on a rampage at some point.
So, Dick is immediately called away in League business. So he isn't there. Damian is behaving fairly civil besides being a brat, so no one wastes too much effort in correcting what he says. We need to think about the fact that this is a kid whose world was turned upside down multiple times in a short period of time, who has a need to be accepted, and who hasn't yet found his place. All this is to say, that if it's difficult to get him to eat breakfast there's no way they're controlling his every move and that's understandable.
So Dick is away, Damian is still trying to adapt, Alfred has his hands full and everyone else is doing something else.
The whole thing starts because Tim is being kind of cryptic about what he's doing with his hit list and Damian feels left out and goes looking for more. He finds his name in a hidden double side of the hit list marking him as a threat. He understandably feels hurt and angry, because he's a kid, and he's trying, and his predecessor who at this point doesn't even try with him anymore views him as something bad.
So in classic Damian fashion, he falls back on his upbringing and doesn't deal with the situation as one should, talking about it. Instead he cuts team line, hurting before being hurt. It could've been worse, we see in the panel that Tim doesn't have that much of a hard time getting safely to the ground. The problem is that he snaps and starts a full-blown fight he knows Damian won't back out off. (I'm pleased to add that after cutting his line Damian doesn't start anything else)
So they are fighting, Tim has the clear advantage and he knows this, we know this. And that's how Dick finds them. Having just returned from a JL mission, in the place where the Waynes were murdered, with Tim having overpowered Damian.
They go back to the cave and Damian shares his findings, and Dick understands. And Tim tells him he (Dick) knows why he (Tim) did it. Dick agrees, and tells him he should have tried to make it harder to find. Tim says he hadn't thought Damian would try or even care. Dick tells him Damian wants to be accepted.
All in all, so far the only thing this comic has proven to me is that there's a reason comics are the bomb and that fanon has gotten out of hand. I get making things out to be worse for the sake of a story, but everything surrounding these events is basically used as the foundation for Damian and Tim's relationship as well as Dick and Tim's and I don't think I've once read a fanfic where these events are portrayed correctly or even following the real motivations of the characters. This is a disservice to all of them and only serves to amplify the hate towards a character that doesn't deserve it. There's a lot of Damian hate going around. And it sucks. Mostly because people use his actions against Tim to justify it and honestly? I don't think you should be allowed to use that if you haven't read RR and understood what was going on.

I remember seeing a panel of Bruce and Barbara(?) talking how Dick's feelings for Starfire(?) Is just a phase and Babs(?), and thought about if Bruce had ever pushed/or try to direct Dick to date a girl he (Bruce) liked/preffered Dick to date? I mean I don't think Bruce will forcibly do so, but he clearly has preferences (cough titans is Nono to him cough).
Tumblr media
Batman: Gotham Knights Issue #43
This one!
Even though he said this to Barbara, Bruce has drawn a line in overtly interfering with Dick's love life. Actually he makes it very clear that he's not going to interfere with Dick's love life after bringing up the topic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nightwing (1999) Issue #14
Which is....what just happened? Was he saying he disapproves? Clearly not because he says he believes in Dick and that sounds genuine. But then does that mean he approves? Then why didn't he give a clear answer, actually why did he even bring it up because Dick wasn't even talking about that in the first place.
He's openly supportive of Tim's choices so why doesn't he just say what he thinks about Dick? I guess it doesn't help that Dick reacts like a cat in hot water when it comes to Bruce's involvement in his life so this is probably that Bruce doesn't know what to say. I don't know if he doesn't want Dick to date anyone, which tracks from his thoughts on Dick's relationships with people in general, or if he has a particular inclination toward someone but he's afraid of saying it because he doesn't want it to blow up in his face.
Obviously the Titans are a no way. Like the Titans aren't even on the table for Bruce when it comes to acceptable Dick Grayson dating choices. They're probably in the neighbor's trash can lol.
He's against civilians in general, even for himself, so that wouldn't fly with him. Anyone from the league or heroes are just as bad as the Titans for Bruce because he's terrified of Dick leaving him and has canonical attachment issues to him. So it would have to be someone in Gotham or in direct attachment to the batfamily so he can gatekeep Dick Grayson.
That only leaves two available choices - Barbara and Helena - that Bruce would ever be okay with Dick dating. You know how sometimes people compromise or say things like "I love you and would do anything for you but in the end it's up to you and I respect that", yeah...Bruce just leaves off the last part indefinitely.
Although this comic issue is older, it shows that he's not particularly keen on Barbara either,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Detective Comics (1937) Issue #369
But that was then when it was just Dick, Barbara, and Bruce. Now there are more players in the game than just Barbara so compared to how much Dick would pull away if he dated or married one of them, Barbara looks like a shining star of a choice because all of Bruce's actions are inherently selfish although he tries his best not to be.
I think the issue with Bruce and Dick's dating life is the problem he has with Dick's life in general. He clearly wants to interfere, but he's worried about the backlash he's going to get.
Tumblr media
Nightwing (2016) Issue #38
Because Dick loves to help others but he hates receiving help much to the despair of literally the entire rest of the hero community. But he's particularily sensitive about Bruce's involvement in his life because he only became Nightwing to prove to Bruce he can take care of himself. Since then, Bruce's relationship in term of helping Dick or giving him his opinions has been a series of "Can I-should I-" thoughts.
So although he'll never tell Dick his opinions because he's scared of the backlash, but he definitely has opinions.

I recently had a dream that wouldn't leave me alone so I feel the need to share it with someone else.
I can't remember the name of the fic that had been rereading at the moment but it's a crossover DC/DP/MLB. In the fic Danny, Damien and Marinette are called the three headed beast. At the time I was also reading a fic with Captain Marvel and I got it stuck in my head that what if Danny, Marinette and Billy were the three headed beast and Damien was their baby sibling.
Like hear me out they were made by Ra's without even Talia knowing. He wanted to raise his potential heir without even his daughter interfering. When the three are about 7 some magic bs with a Lazarus portal happened resulting in them living in a separate dimension for decades away from Ra's before being de-aged and sent bad under their grandfather's thumb (honestly I don't really remember what happened, my dream confused me). Once back they quickly jump ship and fake their deaths making sure nobody's are left to try and revive.
Roughly 2-3 years later Talia had Damien. I don't remember why but he knew about the triplets and had been on multiple family bonding trips with them without Ra's or Talia knowing so when Tim said Bruce was alive he just said ok, called his older siblings sounding sad and said find him. And then I woke up (and thought about it a lot).
Sorry for the rant this idea just wouldn't leave me alone.
I can just imagine Phantom and Marvel being entirely different people. Like Captain Marvel doesn't happen until after leaving the league neither does the portal incident so both Phantom and Marvel are completely different heros. The three went their separate ways once out of the league, yes they love each other (and the baby sibling they occasionally pop in on and kidnap for a few weeks to month to for adventures in dimensions that have different time flows) but they are grown adults they have their own lives they want to lead and they definitely haven't needed a parent in decades.
Anyways I'll stop now I just need to share this.
Tumblr media
That's honestly such a cool dream. I don't read a lot of Miraculous Ladybug crossovers with DC but I do know the show.
It's interesting how all of them would be extremely powerful for their respective hero personas, but no one would link them as the Three Head Beast.
Also since Danny and Billy would be different heroes, I like to think that maybe Danny would have become more like a meta-human instead of a halfa. Maybe it was due to all his dimension-hopping as I can see him being the triplet that would enjoy exploring the Infinite Realms.
Danny has wanders lust- he hates lingering in one place too long so he is always on the move, always wanting to see new worlds and new timelines.
Maybe he would become Clockwork's human lesion as he can't be King. He happily goes to the living realms of the timelines Clockwork needs him to observe for the stars.
Danny believes the stars are a reminder of his freedom because it's one of the first things he saw the day they faked their deaths. He loves seeing new constellations and can't wait to jump lines again to discover new ones.
Billy meanwhile would fall into Magic again but this time it would be his own magic. He has the highest potential in magic to make him a candidate for the Wizard, but his past of being in Ra's thumb mucked up his purity soul bit.
Still, he finds out that "You're a Wizard, Billy" while traveling dimensions and unlike Danny chooses to stay in a lot of them for long periods just learning all he can of magic.
Marinette, unlike her brothers, is much more willing to stay in one place. Yes, she'll sometimes join them on trips or go looking for an adventure but she wanted to build a home. Danny and Billy see it as a cage, far too used to Ra's locking them up to not get itchy to move about, but she saw it as having control.
She picks her house. She picks the dimensions. Marinette is the one that decides when and where she wants to go. Nothing is bigger "I made it out. I survived you" then staying in their native dimension with Ra's on the other side of the world. If he finds her and tries to bring her back, welp she escaped before she can do it again.
But she didn't want big adventures or conflicts with Ra's, she was comforted. So Marinette opens a bakery in France, living as mundanely as possible but with years of deadly training under her skin and a strong link to Spirits.
Marinette didn't get her Kawami when the Guardian needed to pass them on, because she wasn't there, but years of Lazarus Water, Ectoplasim of the Infinite Realms, and just her aura she can see them.
Alongside thousands and thousands of Spirits that are everywhere. Some get attacked by her and her little bakery. Marinette allows them to live with her and respects them and their domain, so it's not really a surprise when they start bestowing small Blessings on her. She may not possess a miraculous that powers her up but she has a bag of tricks that are close and her own training that practically makes her a miraculous holder anyway.
And that's them the three heads of the Ra's Three-Headed Beasts- monsters, killers, weapons from birth- who lived on as what they wanted.
An explorer with a love of stars.
A mage with a love of study.
A Baker with a love of everyday life.
One day, when a little ninja wanders into Marinette's bakery on a break from his first real mission, the three gain a new love for their little brother.
Damian may not understand his older siblings desire to not be a cape but he respects them all the same. He still trains every day in the hopes of one day besting them but not to prove his worth.
Only to make Danny, Marinette, and Billy proud.

Some Jason Todd headcanon
I have some headcanon between Jason and the bat siblings . Please respect
Jason has a soft pot for Steph. Why? Well just like him, she was a girl who had hope for Batman, but then Bruce managed to ruin that. Jason knows that feeling, so if she needs it he will help her, no matter where or what it is, he will help her (Jason and Steph are similar in ways no one is ready to talk about yet)
He and Duke are the street smarth in house, they use this to their advantage to annoy the other brothers, especially Dick (Dick is also a street smart because the circus, but jason claims that Dick spent so much time with Bruce and heroes that he lost it)
He favorite brother is Dick, he'll never admit it, but it's Dick (and Damian too)
In the past, when he was Robin, he saw Dick arguing a lot with Bruce (Dick was rarely at the mansion, but when he was present he was yelling at Bruce) and now Jason gives Dick all the credit for it
He also recognizes Dick's efforts "to fix" their relationship and even though he doesn't admit it he appreciates it
Jason don't dislike Damian, he thinks the boy is a little annoy sometimes but in the end he also cares for this boy even with all the shit, think about that older brother who says "Look we gonna in the same school, just don't talk to me, ok? I don't want my friends see me with you" ">tt< I didn't even think about talking to you"
(Jason joined with Bruce to bring Damian back when the boy died, Jason really cares for this little one)
Deep down, Jason feels a strange urge to protect the little robin, as if he was programmed to do so, but he tries with all his might to ignore this order. Jason doesn't understand where this desire comes from and he's sure Damian knows the answer, but Jason never asks because something tells him he won't like the answer
He barely remembers all the details of his league days, plus the training part, but faces and names are all a blur to him
Jason can speak Arabic and Chinese fluent (because league time)
Jason and Damian (in the past) would sometimes fake an argument in Arabic on the main com channel just to annoy Bruce and the others, they weren't even really fighting, just randomly shouting things in Arabic to annoy the others
they rarely do this now, as Jason is under the impression that Dick and Tim know enough Arabic to understand what they are saying
His relationship with Tim is ok now, Jason notices Tim's admiring look at him, but doesn't verbalize anything about it. Nowadays Jason is more angry with Bruce than anything, he understands that the Robins are nothing more than Batman's soldiers and no matter what Bruce says, Jason doesn't believe otherwise
and, just as he would do for others, he would help Tim at any time possible if the boy asked
Jason understands the bad things he did in the past, he knows who he hurt and how he did it, he has some regrets but not for everything, some people really deserver it
Since returning to Gotham, Jason has punched several police officers, why? the pigs were talking nonsense about his brothers. A police officer threatened to arrest Duke? The police car is burning now. Did a cop talk shit about Cassandra? Someone wakes up in the hospital emergency room with no teeth and broken bones. Did a police officer say something racist about Robin's accent? bitch you're dead. A police officer made a joke about Red Robin being in the pride parade? Pig down
police officers in Gotham are not trustworthy, only those who work with Jim Gordon and Jim Gordon himself
It's funny that all the evidence you could have against Jason magically disappears. Jason knows this isn't Bruce's job, Jason can see Batman's disappointed face on him when these incidents happen, but Jason can also see Dick stepping between the two of them, smiling as always and claiming nothing happened
usually Jason doesn't like being in Dick's shadow, but sometimes it's nice to know that Dick still sees him as a little brother
Some batkid headcanon: Damian || Duke || Cassandra || Stephanie || Tim || Jason || Dick

I'd really dig a Duke solo run right now. Or rather, a Duke focused run that shows off Gotham during the day again and has minimal appearances from other bats and established heroes. Something that shows how he runs things when it's just coming down to him. And brings the old Robin Crew back.
I admit, I feel like the curing of his parents was kinda anticlimactic. Like, if Metamorpho can synthesize a cure for Joker Gas, that guy needs to be on speed-dial. (Is he probably busy and hard to reach like every other hero trying to do this full time while maintaining a personal life? Probably? Would I offer him some of that Batman money to make some time every few weeks or so to examine all the various toxins and such used by multiple Gotham villains? Absolutely.) So, maybe that cure didn't work. Not permanently. A rare misread from Metamorpho, something that he could've and would've fixed ifnhed seen it. Maybe that gas mutates the victim over time, and if they stay dosed long enough, they start to relapse, even if cured. What if Duke's parents just have the occasional fit of mad laughter. Just an incident here, once or twice a month or so. But they seem to get longer each time, and then they start happening once a week. Twice a week. Every other day. And Duke is starting to freak out, running himself ragged on his off time to try to figure out what went wrong.
At some point, he recalls a case he was on that he never really got a chance to fully close out: The White Market. This place (seen in Batman - Case Files: Signal) was a whole villian swap meet, full of interesting gear, tools, spoils, and inventions, all hidden on a whole other wavelength that most people can't even see. Maybe some other villian has a cure-all for this kind of thing, or just something useful until Metamorpho gets free (the man muttered something about a "Danger Street" in one of the quickest phone calls Duke ever had, and Black Lightning and Katana are probably still on the same kind of stuff they were doing when Jason ran into them a few months back). Maybe, after some time has passed, they feel comfortable opening up a Gotham access point again, now that the heat seems to have died down.
Of course, there was a whole other half to that incident. Mainly that a Riko and Dax, somehow empowered by a tech billionaire, showed up to work the same case, Riko leeching Duke's powers to match the wavelength necessary to get into the White Market in the first place. Yeah, it ended with a blown cover and Duke getting beat bad enough that they were able to confirm he has a healing factor, but it's still unfinished business, and going toe to toe and blow for blow with people that used to be friends can't leave a good taste in his mouth. And it's not just Duke trying to figure it out. After all, you don't throw money like that into a project, and then scrap it, especially one of the steps in your plan is to jump a Bat (the new, daytime Bat, but still a bat). So they have to be still looking, right? If he can find a way into that tech guy's system, maybe he can get hold of some information he missed.
So, Duke has with a conversation with Tim about what Duke plans to do (because anybody else is busy (Nightwing running the Titans/League, Red Hood... "recovering"), out of the city (I think Batman is off world in comics at the moment? There's a current running comic about it. ), or might try to stop/join him (Oracle, Black Bat, and Spoiler, who have a Birds of Prey thing running right now, IIRC, and Robin, who's probably helping hold down the night shift). And Tim is all for it, willing to cover some things for him as long as Duke is sharing information and doesn't get himself killed. Duke makes sure Tim has Izzy's contact info and vice versa, and maybe emergency Hatch access, and he's out in the streets the next day, trying to find an access point for information on the place where he might find a cure for his parents. Only instead of a Bat over his shoulder, he's got Izzy in his ear and just his own skills in the field against assorted villians, another billionaire, and whatever he's still gotta deal with in the day to day to even have the time for this.
And all the while, there's a part of him thinking that maybe he can get the old crew back together instead. If they don't beat each other senseless on sight first, anyway.
Or maybe after. A win is a win.

When I saw Bruce as a teenager with his older kids… I feel like his kids felt all that from: The karma of having driven their father half crazy and getting Alfred to lose the few hairs on his head that he had left.
More like:
Jason, realizing that Bruce was all trouble with legs, and that even he wasn't that explosive with provocations. He basically has to carry his dad around like a sack of potatoes to keep him from jumping at the first idiot who gives him an ugly look.
Dick, completely freaked out about how his father could have the audacity to try to be innocent, when he's got bare knuckles and lots of blood stains, suspiciously not his own, on his shirt. He still doesn't know how he can look completely adorable and charming while reciting a terrible murder poem against his enemies.
Tim, paralysed in quick thinking and the quickest viper's tongue that the teenage version of Bruce has. And even more so the wickedly curious way in which he uses the information completely to his advantage, with no filtors or back-up plans.
And well… Damian, completely happy to have this version of his father backing him up with impulsive follies and stealing ducks from the ponds to take back to the mansion.
Because yeah, I feel like Bruce was that kind of kid who would hide ducklings and squirrels in his jackets, only to have to return them all teary-eyed to the park; just because Thomas and Alfred forbade him to bring those into the house with him.
And with the members of the League, oh my God!
With Diana he is like a naughty boy, he does his crazy things, but always respectful with the wonderful woman who is able to take out his spine with a single blow.
With Hal… it's like a techie cat fight, always growling at each other.
And Clark… Poor Clark: He can't, he's too soft or too rough on Bruce. He can't handle all that aggressive adolescent energy.
Literally all of the batboys wanted a bad boy phase until they meet the teen version of their day. He's angry and vicious and his mouth is a gun when he's angry. But he does love. He just loves more roughly than they're used to.
AND PLS SJSJ TEEN BRUCE HAD GAME. HE HAD SWAG. HE HAD THAT 'don't care but I'll make sure YOU will' attitude that had girls and boys BLUSHINGGGG
Diana says he needs to watch his mouth and teen Bruce smirks " You watch it enough for both of us" and adult Bruce is dying quietly in his chair, begging Aquaman for a slow death. And poor Clark is having bullied kid flashbacks sjsjsj

my horrible horrible Batman/bruce Wayne headcannons
He’s half Sicilian and half Jewish. I will take this to my actual grave/srs
the real reason he can walk away and fight people with broken bones and while bleeding out is because he has an undiagnosed pain disorder. Like the one where you can’t feel pain at all. And has never realized it ever, and the batfam are completely oblivious too. Thomas Wayne (his dad) had it and never noticed either.
he sings songs to his kids, but really really bad covers. On purpose. He also has a secret YouTube music channel called “bats in the belfry” where he uploads his good guitar/vocal covers. He accidentally goes viral, and juggles a triple life as a semi-famous songwriter and singer. No one knows it’s him though, not even the league.
Thomas gave bruce all his old medical texts, and used to teach him first aid when he was little. little bruce loved it so much.
bruce actually has his doctorate in chemistry, engineering, medicine, biology, botany, and he took some random courses about the bats of Gotham and then studied veterinary medicine.
he proudly displays his many doctorates he earned in the same 3 years, in the library where no one see them.
his best friend forever is Harvey dent, even though Harvey and Harv are twoface. he does not care and randomly rocks up to his house with some good brandy, and invites them to his house always and forever.
bruce is actually a good dad, he's just also oblivious and accidentally hurts his kids feelings.
he actually hates being called bruce, and considers it his deadname. he actually one time when he was poisoned got out the name change forms filled them out with the name Bat Bruce Wayne and got his name changed and then he started feeling better after being poisoned he realised that he changed his legal name to Bat Wayne and he could not change it back. he tries to lie about it but he still has to sign forms with his legal name, no one has figured it out yet. everyone just assumes Bat Wayne is like his 9th kid or something.
bruce despite being rich as balls actually hates being rich with a passion, and literally throws his money at anything he can. when he was younger he tried desperately to get rid of all his money via charities, investing in local Gotham shops and chains, and literally paying for any health or medical care thing he could. sadly that only made the entire city of Gotham love him, and sadly he just got 30x the money he put in. and he still doesn't know how. it basically turned into a one upping where bruce tried everything he could to get rid of his money but all that happened was people started to love and adore Wayne tech and Wayne industries, and bruce Wayne's constant stream of donations to literally every single charity he could shove money in their hands. it backfired horribly and now he has a LEGION of international Bruce Wayne fans who literally give him money. he hates every single moment.
he has a weird thing going on with joker, they made out a couple times and they both refuse to ever bring it up. (bruce would have killed him if he didn't kinda have the hots for him and thought he couldn't be redeemed.)
he singlehandedly is keeping all of Gothams diverse bat species alive and well, he also has like 1,000s of pet bats in the batcave.
his favourite colour is actually yellow, but he just likes that black is stealthy.
he actually has tons and tons of scars, and no one really knows because bruce always wears fingerless gloves and long sleeves. they just think it's a fashion statement, bruce just likes covering up his scars.
he started a conspiracy that batman was actually not real and just a cryptid, he leans even more into it as Bruce Wayne.
he picks up all his kids and spins them around at random, because he loves keeping them on their feet.
he's low-key on and off dating both Catwoman and Harvey, while having work husband Clark Kent be his teammate.
the media completely forgets bruce literally has multiple doctorates some times. and when he publishes any work he does everyone is like "oh look it's Bruce Wayne, not THE Bruce Wayne of Wayne tech. science Bruce Wayne of the same name. because the playboy billionaire doesn't publish in scientific journals" and then one time he was invited to give a lecture on poison ivy's plants and the critically endangered Gotham wild rose of which there is only one left and of which he is currently keeping safe in his plant house. anyway everyone was fucking shocked and bruce put on his serious scholarly tone and started talking. while in a yellow Gotham U jumper with coffee stains on it while looking like he was in a car crashes aftermath only moments earlier. (he just forgot to set his bones again.)
bruce has autism and OCD. his special interest is gray ghost, and he fucking hates bright lights. (sun glasses indoors kinda guy)
bruce keeps like 50 photos of his kids in his wallet, 1: because it's funny 2: because he does not bring a phone with him anywhere.
and lastly, when he was doing his tour around the world to learn all types of fighting and escapism. he also learned he was horrible at cooking, just downright destructive.

Feel free to ignore if my asks get too much or clog up the ask box!
I'm loving the coffee head canons and I'm curious about Damian. I come from a country where tea is a big thing, and it's pretty common for kids to drink tea even if they're as young as 4-5 years sometimes, though it's usually it's very weak tea and mostly milk based instead of water. I'm imagining the same is true for Damian.
So, here's my question. Is Damian allowed tea and coffee? How does he drink his tea and coffee? Does he usually drink his caffeine with someone specific, the way Babs and Kate do?
so I think in the League of Assassins kids drink tea from basically whenever they're old enough to hold a cup by themselves. (like, I don't know, I'm used to tiny babies drinking tea, I drank tea as a tiny baby, it's probably just flower tea.) I'm not imagining milk, probably just clear tea with leaves and/or flowers - I think Talia would mostly drink jasmine tea with him, and set aside coffee as very much a grownup thing. so I think he would think of coffee as a more mature beverage, and feel special when he's allowed some.
of teas he drinks with the League, there are a bunch of people who mix up masala on the regular, but since he's so intensely athletically trained they want to keep him away from sugar, so he gets nervous around sweet foods and drinks in general. but there's also jasmine tea that his mother does ceremonies with - and wheat tea, but he hates that, even tho it's her favie - and several other green and black teas, including a smoked tea most adults around him find very rich so he tries to pretend to like it. he enjoys flowering teas the most, because he likes to watch them bloom in the pot. one of his tutors loves matcha and does Japanese tea ceremonies as well, which Damian carefully learns and enjoys. he's had occasional exposure to other ones, and he finds tea culture fascination.
once he moves in with Bruce, he's so excited to have a cup of coffee shared with him, like his father is acknowledging his place in the family. (Bruce used to have the occasional cup of decaf with Thomas, and Alfred never wanted to take that memory away, so he's always let Bruce have coffee. so it doesn't register to him it's bad for kids.) and he's proud to drink coffee with Dick, too, because it cements their bond as mentor and apprentice. (Dick doesn't know coffee is bad for kids either, because in the circus it was really normal to share it around, and he didn't notice his parents limiting his intake.) but with Alfred he mostly drinks tea, because Alfred is careful to take care of his humans, and the parenting guides say coffee is for grownups.
Alfred is partial to Scottish Breakfast, because that was Martha's favorite, and Damian is delighted to share that with him. Tim's insistence on saying Earl Grey, Hot all the time makes Damian obsessed with trying some, tho, and so that becomes his tea of choice around the manor. (jasmine, sometimes, when he's homesick. and certain other teas go well with certain foods.) Damian rarely drinks water when he's not actively running, but he can be convinced of peppermint tea when he's looking a little peaky, and oddly flavored teas like berry tea when Alfred thinks he's dehydrated.
tea he almost always drinks with Alfred, and sometimes when entertaining guests, because he definitely thinks of teas (certain specific teas, teapots, teacups, etc.) as important to his duties as a host. coffee is a father-son tradition for Bruce, and a family bonding tradition for Dick, so they're both pretty intent on it. but almost everyone will make someone else a cup of coffee if they're already getting on, and Damian takes these gifts as signs of respect, like they're accepting him as a fellow adult. he doesn't like all of them, but he likes the thought.
he's still wary of sweet foods, so he doesn't like sweet drinks as much, and he even likes his hot cocoa very dark (the way Alfred usually makes it anyway, like the original recipe), but he does like the variety of flavors the different syrups can have, and he's enamored of Dick's favorite (the pumpkin spice latte). he's not old enough for his tastebuds to pick up most of the flavors people are talking about, but he catalogs them carefully, just in case.

1 & 2 for a tim drabble ; )
1. jealousy.
Jealousy was an ugly thing. When it rears its head, there is often hell to pay. And perhaps this was because of the blinding fuel that jealousy gives. They say heaven has no rage like love turned to hatred, that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Or a man, maybe. Perhaps in this case, a man sitting so silently at his desk, eyes trained across the room, just like he had been the past ten minutes, as another talked, laughed, leaned onto whoever that was besides him.
And for a second, Tim almost felt bad about being so upset by the sight of Mickey having fun. Really, he had no right to, right? His fingers fumbled over his keyboard, and envy turned to anxiety as he lost focus on whatever he was typing.
I mean, they weren't really serious. It was only two dates. And five lunch meetings. Those didn't count though, right? It wasn't serious. And he had no right to be so upset by the way Mickey smiled at that other guy by the elevator. The way their conversation seemed to flow like they'd known each other forever, the way he so effortlessly held Mickey's attention. The way Mickey looked at him like he was the center of the universe and -- did his eyes just flicker to that man's mouth?
Tim wished that if only Mickey had looked at him like that...No, what was he thinking?
It wasn't like him to be jealous, it really wasn't. And he wasn't jealous. Not anymore. Now he just felt upset. Inferior. Some sort of self-consciousness. Perhaps he was too boring for someone so -- so...Exciting. And therefore, he had no right to be jealous...Right?
2. hurt/comfort.
He was laughing at him. Tim poured his heart out to Mickey, and now...He was laughing at him. It stung almost as bad as when Mickey had walked back to his desk that afternoon, with a dreamy sigh and a "Have you met Julian from HR? I could talk to him for hours." Or at least, that's what Tim thought he'd said. He couldn't quite remember, because he was too focused on getting up and leaving.
And maybe the way he mumbled something like, "Yeah, I guess he's more your type anyways," wasn't the smartest thing to do, nor was running away to hide in the interrogation observation room.
It was definitely, absolutely not smart -- no, probably just downright stupid, actually -- to wait until Mickey found him there, and asked what was wrong. And even stupider probably to pour out his insecurities to him then and there, admit his jealousy, admit how dumb he thought it was,
"And I really, really like you. And I know I shouldn't be jealous, because I don't have any reason to be. Because we're not together. But I really, really think I'd like us to be. But I know it won't happen. Because you're so...You, and I'm so...Not. And you deserve someone more like you, not me, because -- because I guess I'm just too boring. And strange, and geeky and...Just not cool. And that sounds so stupid because we're not in high school anymore, but you deserve someone that can keep up with you. And that's just not me. I mean, you're not just out of my league, you're -- you're playing a whole different game."
And Mickey stood there. And laughed. Was -- is laughing, still. And Tim doesn't know how to feel, besides even more upset.
But Mickey looks at those puppydog eyes he's wearing, the way he's pouting, and laughs harder.
"You think too much of me."
"No," Tim argues, and he argues like the way a child would, "I dont."
"...You think too little of yourself, then."
Mickey smiles again. Amused, more than anything at the way Tim wore jealousy in such an adorable fashion, and for that his hands come to rest against that same man's cheeks, which burn with embarrassment and anxiety and perhaps a tinge of anger. And he pulls him down and kisses him, right there in the middle of observation.
"I really, really like you too, Tim."

Expanded version of the "the Core Four gangs up on Kon's objectification kink" WIP, including a read-more because it's up to like 2k now, hah.
It's nice to all be alive and in the same reality and time period with the guys, which should really be easier to arrange than it actually is. Cassie had an easier time getting Cissie and Greta and Anita all together for a two-week road trip last summer than she has ever had getting Tim and Kon and Bart all alive and local and not replaced by a clone with fucked-up ethics for five fucking minutes.
Last time she'd thought she'd managed that, Match and Thad had shown up, plus Tim'd had to cancel last-minute for an Arkham breakout anyway.
It was so annoying that she hadn't even bothered telling Match and Thad that she'd known they were them until they'd both let her get to second base. Like, she wasn't actually gonna fuck them, obviously, they're supervillains and also she doesn't want to give either Kon or Bart any weird complexes or anything like that, but second base had seemed fair. Just for the inconvenience and all.
Also they'd both clearly needed more practice at making time anyway. Like–definitely. So really she'd figured she was doing them a favor.
They'd been hilariously shy about touching each other, for guys who'd been pretending to be Conner "No Regrets" Kent and Bart "No Restraint" Allen. Cassie had politely pretended not to find it adorable, because supervillains, and had just given some helpful tips disguised as voyeuristic requests.
And like, well, third base had been fine for them, she'd reasoned, since they were both supervillains.
They both blush way, way more easily than Kon and Bart do, she has learned.
Also if they're dating now, that's her bad and she probably owes the superhero community some very serious apologies for it? But like, she's not gonna be the one to bring it up. So as long as Cissie doesn't break the Sis Code about their last dish session, it'll be fine.
Though she does expect invited to that particular wedding, if it ever comes up.
Anyway. Off-topic.
Cassie spent three full days and a favor from both Oracle and Supergirl arranging this date night, so she has no intention of it going to waste or getting interrupted. She was not fool enough to plan an event or activity outside where criminals and idiots and idiot criminals and, worse, people they know abound; she'd just told the boys all when to be at her apartment and then very theatrically locked the door once she'd gotten them all inside.
Said lock is made of promethium and also full of godly magic, because fuck interruptions.
Aphrodite understands when a girl just really needs to get some with her sort-of boyfriends/ride-or-die teammates, thankfully.
Technically Young Justice is a situationship more than a superhero team these days, but they are just not gonna be explaining that to the Justice League. Like ever.
Maybe at their wedding.
Kon had suggested Netflix. Bart had suggested getting delivery. Tim had suggested a card game.
Cassie had taken her pants off, which had fortunately gotten them all on the same page.
So that’s how they’re here right now, with her straddling a half-naked Tim on the couch in just her shirt and panties and Kon and Bart on the other side of the coffee table and all tangled up together fully naked, because the bastards both have ridiculous amounts of super-speed and can therefore cheat their way out of their clothes and through the prep stage and foreplay without even letting her and Tim get a show, the brats.
And also because Kon can fly, so he doesn't really have to “weigh” all that much.
So that's how he's currently completely wrapped around Bart and being held up in his arms like he doesn't weigh a thing at all so Bart can fuck him standing. Cassie can fly too, obviously, but she doesn't like being held up like that without an anchor point or any contact with the ground or at least a wall–it makes her feel unbalanced, distracted, vulnerable.
Kon, apparently, really likes it.
Well, he was born able to fly, so maybe that's part of that. For her, the ability was a later development. For Kon, it's as natural and normal as walking or running.
Probably more so, actually.
And the visual of Kon's whole big broad body being held up in Bart's lithe, narrow arms like that, of him deliberately making the effort to keep himself there, to keep himself on Bart's cock–well, she likes that.
"Holy Hera," she mutters, and even the direct stimulation of Tim's dick rubbing up just-right against her cunt through their underwear and his hands on her hips pales a little in comparison to the show.
Look, she's just the visual type, okay?
"Don't take this the wrong way, but this feels kinda like I'm just using a toy, not holding a whole person," Bart says distractedly, his voice and hips both practically a blur. Cassie and Tim both bristle reflexively against each other, because that has got to be just about the stupidest possible thing he could've said to–
And Kon–bites his lip, a little, and shudders.
"A–toy?" he repeats unevenly.
"Oh," Bart says, freezing in place and then blinking lightning-fast a few dozen times, or maybe just once or twice. It's hard to tell, with Bart. "I mean, not like–well, yeah? I don't mean I think you're–"
"It's okay if you do," Kon blurts, his face flushing. Cassie kind of forgets she was about to get on Tim's dick and nearly falls off him. Tim nearly falls off the couch, so at least she's not alone there.
Bart's a lot faster on the uptake than any of the rest of them, though, so he just blinks one more time and then tilts his head. And then, casually–
"You would make a pretty good toy," he says. "We could pass you around a lot easier. And maybe you'd stop running off and getting lost on us all the time, too."
"Ngh," Kon says, ducking his head as his face gets even redder.
"I don't really have a toybox, though," Bart muses absentmindedly, watching Kon's face intently. "Might just have to leave you in my bed when we weren't using you. But then you'd be easy-access for playtime anyway, so–"
"Bart," Kon chokes, and Cassie sees the very obvious way his whole body clenches up.
"That setting's too tight. Go back to the last one," Bart says in that same casual, matter-of-fact tone from before, and Kon makes a strangled noise and visibly forces himself to relax again, just barely trembling.
"Well, this is a development," Cassie manages, which is more than Tim's apparently got; he's just staring.
"Kon–" he starts just a little warily, and Kon just shakes his head mutely.
"The off button's 'friction', if you run out of battery," Bart says, stroking up the small of Kon's back. "Got it?"
Kon nods, snapping his eyes shut, and still doesn't say a word.
"Good toy," Bart says, and Kon shudders. Bart stares at him for one last very, very intent microsecond that probably lasts about forty minutes in subjective time, then turns his head to look over at Cassie and Tim instead. And then he goes back to fucking Kon, but this time he isn't moving his own hips at all–just moving Kon by his grip on his, like he really is just holding a toy and using it how he pleases.
Kon lets him.
Cassie is going to spontaneously combust, she's pretty sure, and Tim looks like he might just keel over and die.
"Its hole feels pretty good," Bart tells them instead of Kon, his tone a little breathless but mostly just conversational. Kon digs his teeth into his lip with a strangled noise and his dick twitches sharply; outright spits precome. So apparently Cassie is going to spontaneously combust and Tim is going to keel over and die and Kon is probably going to do both, fucking hell, Bart is trying to kill them all, the little bastard.
"Does it?" Cassie manages only a bit faintly, because if they're doing this they're at least gonna do it right. Generally speaking Kon's the one with the most submissive tendencies, though they've all tried it at least a couple times. Cassie just doesn't really like the way subbing makes her feel and Bart gets restless and Tim gets neurotic, though every now and then one or the other of them is in the mood for a bit of it.
Kon will do it whenever one of them asks, though, and Cassie's pretty sure he'd do it even more often if he felt comfortable asking for it himself. Like–they talk about sex a lot, and Kon has to talk around the things he likes or wants a lot. Even more than Tim does, really. Tim can treat it like a mission report and Bart just has no shame and Cassie–well, it still takes some effort, but she's getting better at it, at least.
Kon just doesn't seem to be able to say the words at all, though, which considering his usual tendency to charge face-first at every single obstacle is . . . notable, maybe.
Cassie's never been sure if it's that he just doesn't feel safe asking for things he thinks he wants "too much", or if it's that he feels comfortable enough with them to not have to demand space and attention, and can just wait for it to come to him.
Kon's only ever full-stop safeworded when he was Domming, though. Never as a sub. He's used "yellow" a few times when he was getting overwhelmed or needed a little reassurance, yeah, but never once called a full stop to a scene.
That's not a thing any of them has ever pointed out, but Cassie's pretty sure they've all noticed it.
Maybe not Kon himself, but . . .
"Yeah," Bart says. "It can take a lot, too. I mean, duh, it's a toy, but still. Sturdy thing, y'know?"
"How much is 'a lot'?" Tim says, sounding not unlike he's been punched in the diaphragm. Cassie was definitely doing something with him a minute or three ago, but fuck if she remembers what it was. They've both got their pants off, that's her only clue here.
"Like, a lot," Bart says. "See?"
Then he tightens his grip on Kon's hips and they blur, electric and barely visible and crackling with the Speed Force's lightning. Faster than he can fuck Tim or even her–much faster than he can fuck Tim or her. Kryptonians are built for super-speed too, after all.
But not quite as much of it as a dedicated speedster is.
Cassie can't imagine how overwhelming that actually feels, come to think of it.
Kon just stutters out the quietest sound she thinks she's ever heard him make. It sounds like a sob, almost.
He doesn't say "friction", though. Doesn't even say "yellow".
He doesn't do anything at all, except keep himself in Bart's arms and keep letting Bart use him.
Cassie is never, ever going to remember what she and Tim were doing.
"That's a lot, yeah," she manages. Bart's the best at doing scenes, really, but he's played a lot of games and thinks very fast and has very little sense of self-consciousness, so no surprise there. But Tim is a Bat-trained–and Pennyworth-trained–natural liar, so he's no slouch either. Cassie usually feels a little awkward getting into a scene herself, especially compared to those two's respective experience and Kon's own eternal teen-idol levels of putting on a show and commitment to literally any bit, but right now, she could not care less about "awkward". She just wants to see Kon get taken apart.
She wants to help take Kon apart.

REGARDING MY REVERSE ROBINS TIM: WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM?
Tim: "Why not?"
Okay, my Tim is still learning
Adding to this post (and exactly "Tim was the little psycho just like many young children that you hate are") , I'd like to say that Tim being a very cynical and cold person before he re-joins the Bats and Birds is not just a result of him being dunked in a Lazarus Pit or Ra's al Ghul's attention. It's in the other circumstances: he didn't exactly mature, he didn't learn fully to feel what many other people start to feel long before 14 years. And while he, in fact, did suffer, died and all, it doesn't help, you know? It doesn't actually teach you emotions, but it did make him think that: so I'm mature now, I've seen some shit, it makes me a better judge, I know better and all that.
like. If I got separated from my family before I started to feel for real, before I started to care about people, I would be like him. Only he's deadlier and has dangerous skills, because Batman growing little crime fighters (criminals) in his luxurious garden is something you should be scared of.
so. you would ask: "how can he be the known League Assasin and actually Ra's Herald/Harbinger and not to be mature? how can he be ROBIN/SHRIKE person and not to be mature? you just confuse emotional maturity with following your standards!"
I'll answer: he can. if the last time I wanted to kill a person (and it didn't even matter which person, even a family member, even my mother, or my sister; I had no borders at all and the only thing between me and some horrific crimes was just me not wanting to risk a punishment or literal laziness; still, I did many unnecessary but bad things, just like many teens did) I was older than him when he died, and the same age when he started in the League... he can.
He didn't break the borders. He just didn't ever get them.
and it's important, for me. he didn't even process his parents' deaths (well, considering he died soon after his father did...). Even though he feels he misses them a lot, it just didn't have any impact on how he sees relationships and family. At all.
LOOK.
Again: don't get me wrong, both me and my Tim did feel emotions, had empathy (and it's INFURIATING to think now about how I just KNEW how feels beating someone up or what some person was thinking about when did something, but NOT knowing why someone would worry about me (didn't know WHAT worry means, WHAT is it, "WHY all the people surrounding me FEEL something I can't even UNDERSTAND, WHY the other people, even all my age, are so different, WHAT am I missing, AM I just smarter, AM I just the only one who has the right to do something that is not socially accepted? Are they just consumed by society standards? What, really, should stop me from killing someone, or r*ping someone, or something else, except the fact that I just don't always want to do something and therefore it's not worth the risk? Is there anything I can't do when I really want to? Why is stealing bad? Why do people feel compassion? Why am I wrong if I don't feel the same things other do?"), why does the worry become anger, or that love and consern for someone exist outside of weird conversations some people have - I don't mean romantically, because these days I still don't feel like romantical things exist yet) and all. Got angry when saw group of teens torturing a kitten. Felt proud of some accomplishments. Embarrassed when something didn't go right in public. Playing with other kids. Feeling joy, and fear, and (no sadness. just the feeling something's missing. maybe just sadness transforming to something else too quickly to be recognised), pityness, wanting to avenge, and other things.
Not emotionless, obviously.
Just not feeling anything that actually matters when it comes to your relationships with people. When you keep people around you just because you're used to them being there, talking to you, because they're the part of your surroundings. Not feeling anything about them for real. Not even missing them the way you're supposed to, when far away for long (only missing places or actions or company or missing that you don't have to build new relationships). But knowing that if you want to change this status quo it's way too easy to do it. Because everyone once thought it, even if they don't remember it: it's so damn easy to do wrong, WHY keep people worry about doing it if it's so easy to do it?
It IS childish, in a bad way. (And any person can regress to this, under the right circumstances). And while I snapped out of it when I turned, I don't know, 16 or 17 maybe, (this was looong overdue, but I'm glad, because I was old enough to actually realise how my mind, my view, my feelings had changed), like so many others did,... some people--- didn't.
And my Tim didn't, too.
So by the time he's lucid again and not shocked or overwhelmed, after waking up, reanimated, talking to Ra's, being in the League, it's just a question of "Why not?"
It's not like he has some special kind of bond with Gotham. Why not to accept getting some new skills, why not to accept some new knowledge, why not to accept some interesting work while (and HERE al Ghul's whisperings are) helping the organization lead by a cool, charismatic person who is ancient enough to see what world should be and how to achieve that? It's not like Tim cares about the world, though (most of people don't). It's just one of the points why he should accept all of this. So he does.
And it's not even a tough choice. Not even driven by anger or something.
Just freedom.

intro scene to the DCYJ fixit fic im writing. bc kon being angsty abt dying in that series doesnt make sense, but giving him 'the world moved on w/o you' trauma fits soooo much better. especially since his lines about "you want to go back to the real world? the one where i died? you think that world was so much better than this world where we get to be heroes in our glory days?" doesnt even make sense since the current 'real world' is, uh, the world where kon never even existed... cant die if you never existed, idk what to tell you
///
The statue of Superman at the Justice League is giving Kon whiplash, because he’s pretty sure he used to have one that looked almost identical. Same material, similar pose, similar size. But this one is Superman – in a way, it reminds him of the future that never was. The one where he eventually became Superman, himself, instead of the mantle getting passed onto Jon, because of course it would pass onto Jon – Kon didn’t exist in this timeline until this year. ...Plus, that Kon-El Superman  went evil, so. Maybe best to leave this all to Jon.
The Superman memorial statue stands next to several others. The Justice League assembles once more just to reflect the bright sunny day off their gold silhoettes – and it's a perfect atmosphere for a funeral, he thinks sarcastically.
But in the bright, overwhelming brightness, for a second, Kon truly sees the statue as his own memorial statue. Reality shifts again, then, and it’s back to being Superman.
He still feels dazed. Dizzy.
Cassie reaches for his hand, and it grounds him. Kon lets out a breath, and now it’s hard to imagine he ever saw himself in this stupid memorial.
It’s funny. Remembering his own statue, Kon should really be more traumatized by dying. And he totally was, he won't deny it messed him up – but the thing is, trauma sort of has a recency bias. And losing his entire dimension, having the world re-written without him, knowing none of his friends remember him – that’s also right up there with dying. Top ten worst moments of his short existence, and the list is pretty damn competitive. And it happened within the last year, compared to not actually remembering how long ago he died anymore.
He remembers the day and time, but who knows when it would've been in this dimension, seeing as it never happened at all. Can't die if you never existed.
Besides... However bad dying was, even if he never really processed that one or told his friends about it – at least his friends had been there for him afterwards. And at least his friends had grieved him. It's selfish (and Kon feels bad, but not that bad; he's always been little selfish with his friends' affection) – but he misses knowing they grieved him. Because it was solid, concrete proof that they’d loved him, that they'd missed him. Missed him to the point of real, genuine mental health crises, sure, and there's a lot to unpack about the particular ways Tim and Cassie grieved – but there was no questioning that they cared. That he had mattered enough to care about.
...In this world, he didn’t even exist.
His friends remember grieving him, now that they’ve met him. The spark is there; the realities crashed together and now his friends just remember two timelines. But that doesn’t change that there’s a timeline where he was never there at all.
Sometimes, he wonders. With the amount of grief he gave them, do they look more fondly on the one where they never had a Superboy to mourn?
Cassie squeezes his hand again, forcing his attention outward. He must not react enough, because she bumps her shoulder against his, leans up and mouths 'Are you okay?'
Even Bart and Tim are looking his way now. Way to make a JLA funeral about you, Kon, he thinks. He gives a quick thumbs up, and tries to stop zoning out. There are speeches, after all. He should probably be taking notes on the eulogies. Given how the hero community keeps dying, he'll probably have to start writing them soon. If he doesn't get his own first, he thinks. If he even gets one. He hasn't left much of an impression yet.
Selfish, he thinks. Got to stop being selfish. Roll with the punches. This is the real world now. Considering it was rewritten without you in it, you should probably just be thankful to exist at all.
The speech ends, and Kon joins his hands together to clap along with the rest of the world.

It's ♡♡♡ anon, and I'm beyond stressed. I have dental surgery tomorrow (and I have a phobia of the dentist because of a few bad experiences where no one believed me when I said local anesthetic doesn't work on me :/// ) where I'll be fully sedated. I don't suppose you'd be willing to share any fluffy/adoring brutim snippets you've been planning/or thinking about? 🥺🥺🥺
Ooh, btw do you know DexDefyingStunts on AO3? I was rereading their soft and sweet series and like. I desperately need your thoughts on that, and maybe how delightful it would be to have canon bats in that AU in a dimension travel situation (since you love that trope too). Just the BadWrongSick sensation the canon bats have in that 'verse against the public acceptance of sex and how fully integrated it is in the world and public compared to their home reality where sex and anything pertaining to it mostly taboo outside of private situations. Also I just love image of soft batdad gently finger fucking his darling son Tim right infront of his alternate dimension guests and the utter horror and clash of what is effectively alien biology. Sorry, I'm just stressed, pls ignore me if this isn't something you've read/are into.
Cheers, ♡♡♡
oh im sorry anon! i know exactly how you feel with dentists and i do have a few things!!
i can offer some snippets of a more lighthearted and comedic brutim i have planned! hopefully you enjoy them!
but aside from that i do have some burgeoning ideas for brutim like how even before they get together, tim served as bruce's "voice" in a sense. as brucie bruce can't really speak his mind so tim does it for him <3. rejecting more alcoholic drinks because he's had enough. another thing is when they go out to a new restaurant and he orders for bruce because he has a habit of ordering things he thinks sound good but he won't like (so tim goes a few days early to try everything and scope out what bruce will enjoy).
tim just being overall very thoughtful and mindful towards bruce and his comfort which is what catches bruce's attention. tim knows that when bruce is in a slump or unhappy, or angry he can't make him feel less of those things so instead he does his best to make sure that bruce is at ease so he can work through those feelings.
tim just being the most considerate person in bruce's life and bruce falling for it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
and YES!! im a HUGE fan of dexdefyingstunts their tim fics are absolutely IMPECCABLE!!!!! and their soft and sweet series!!!!! just the overall tenderness present within a universe where its normalized for omegas to be “taken care of” by their packs! like its the perfect balance between gentle love and explicitness!! you can see in their actions and words that the alphas just want to help out their lovely little omegas that can’t help their biology <333!
BUT then adding in dimension travel!!!!! oh i cannot stress how much i LOVE that trope!!!! the canon bats and their purely platonic or familial dynamics being confronted with this- like to them so many things would be wrong, to them it’s be like ‘oh this is like a BAD universe, we’re not evil but everything else is just pretty shitty’. i love the contrast and drama brought about by their discomfort and how everything they stand for and believe says they need to put a stop to this, they need to save who they think are the victims. but this isn’t their universe and the general rule set up by the justice league is that unless another universe is an active threat to their own, it’s best if things be left alone.
but they’re still not happy because the canon bats are now sitting in a world so much like their own but with some pretty significant biological and societal differences. anything related to sex is hidden away and private
“so it’s shameful to you” they ask. a version of tim is in front of them so soft, so...young. they’re desperatly trying to ignore how they can see the red seam of his pussy where fingers are stuffed inside. the batman from this universe is casually speaking to them while his lap is occupied by a red-faced and panting tim. there is no indication that the action is forced.
if it was there’s not a single bat that would’ve stayed still but they don’t want another incident like what occurred when they first arrived.
the sight of tim laid on on the mats, pants completely gone leaving him naked below as this bruce stuffed another finger into him, garnering a fresh flow of tears from his crying face.
to them it’d been clear what was happening. they reacted as they would’ve to the sight of an adult hovering over a child and touching them in an inappropriate manner.
“inappropriate?” this batman asks. “how is it inappropriate to alleviate a young omega’s suffering? do you know the health risks of an omega going their entire childhood without this kind of assistance? it could cause delays in puberty, contribute to an increased chance for depression and anxiety-”
realistically this batman could be lying. he could be just a perverse man who’s twisted this tim’s mind to believe that he needs this. he could be trying to twist their minds to make them think it’s alright.
even while researching this universe they find information that corroborates this batman’s words. their are medical and pediatric journals published about what this batman is doing.
they try to argue, point out facts about tim’s age, about how even in this universe his brain isn’t finished developing until he’s in his early 20s. there’s no way he’s mature enough to understand this. but this tim protests, saying he’s plenty mature and he can make as many choices as any omega!
it’s uncomfortable for them, not just because of the actions but because that’s their faces.
how can dick ever look at tim and bruce together again and not think of the sight of bruce fingerbanging tim who looked all of 13 years old.
bruce is also uncomfortable but for different reasons. he’s met other versions of himself. good, evil, neither, and something in between. bruce knows that just because he became a different person in another universe, it doesn’t necessarily indicate anything about him or his life.
but this batman...he can see the tenderness. the love in his eyes when he kisses his tim (on the mouth). there’s a gentle, parental air about him that contrasts so sharply with the image projected in front of them.
they’re all uncomfortable, the sight and being in that universe just messes with their heads.
tim, surprisingly, takes it the easiest. he can always reason himself into accepting anything. dick questions him on it when they’re back because they all see how bruce hasn’t made much of an effort to touch tim since they returned. no pats on the back no, small smiles. just an odd distance between them. it makes tim sad but he gets it, he tells as much to dick who’s still trying to process it all.
“aren’t you weirded out?” dick asks. “i mean that universe was kind of...intense.”
that’s a nice way of putting it. immediately after they returned they each drifted to their own corner of the manor and didn’t even look at each other until dinner.
but tim just shakes his head.
“my parents were anthropologists, dick.”
tim’s mom and dad always liked collecting artifacts more than they liked business meetings. it was their passion and when they were home they’d show tim some new piece they were adding to their collection. they liked to talk about it at the dinner table so tim picked up on those conversations.
“there’s this thing in anthropology when you’re studying a different culture, community that sort of thing. when you’re doing that you run the risk of finding something that clashes with what has been established in your culture as moral.”
adults fucking children, touching them intimately. it’s all around pretty firmly established as something very bad. yet in that universe, it was fine. encouraged even.
but it’s still immoral.
by their standards.
“when observing other cultures you can only determine or call something immoral so long as that society enforces that it’s unacceptable. if they don’t...well...”
tim remembers being nine years old and listening to his dad talk about the sambia of papa new guinea where boys his age are taken from their mothers and enter initiations to become men. initiations that could have people clutching their pearls and gasping at how “savage” they are.
“there are things in our world that are probably seen as immoral and grotesque not just by western sensibilities and standards but for other universes too.”
dick’s forehead is still creased, he’s biting his bottom lip. tim tells him about young boys who live in a culture that believes that to become a man you must undergo certain rites. rites like performing fellatio on older men in their tribe and being encouraged to drink the semen as often as possible in order to be virile. he tells about how anthropologists like his parents studied and asked the boys about what the most terrifying part of the rites were, and those boys who they expected to say some variation related to the sexual abuse- they said it was being ripped from the arms of their mother.
to those boys, to those men, to that tribe, and in that culture. there was nothing sexual about the act. it was not an act of pleasure but one of duty.
that baman. that tim drake.
it was simply a father caring for his beloved little child
“i do get it dick. those were our faces, that was us in another life but....but it’s not like we were the ones doing it.”
rather, shouldn’t they be happy to know that the tim from that universe was so clearly cared for and loved?
dick’s expression wasn’t satisfied, his eyes kept darting. and tim saw the brief flash on his face of disbelief.
tim decided to just leave it at that.
it’s not that dick was close minded. tim knew that but still...
sometimes he thought of that tim. thought of his blushy cheeks and his sweet smiles and how he clung to that bruce and that bruce clung to him back.
he thought of himself at that age. just as small but three times as desperate for his parent’s love.
it was weird. tim knew that but still...they seemed happy.
and didn’t that matter so much more?
Good Luck on your dental surgery anon!! much love and i hope your recovery goes well❤️❤️❤️❤️

Damian Wayne
Damian Wayne was born as Damian Al Ghul to Talia Al Ghul soon after his twin brother Aidan, however well Aidan's entrance into the world was silent his was not. The baby screamed himself to exhaustion and even then let out small whines as he slept until his brother was by his side after being put into the Lazarus water that Ra's Al Ghul treasured. Well he was born the son of The Bat and the Heir of the demon, Aidan being the Son of the Bat and the plan to be putting him into a position to succeed their father in his role? It was Aidan who would later go on to have a place among the power of the pits, well Damian was happy to succeed their father in his mission and one day carry on the mantle of The Bat.
As children Damian and Aidan Al Ghul were loyal to each other and attached to their mother, as they grew loyalty to their grandfather was instilled in them and they came to love their mother. Their true loyalty however was to each other, something that their grandfather saw from a young age. He used this, separating them for lessons save for sparing matches. When they did something that could be perceived as a failure? Or a challenge to his authority? Ra's found ways to separate them for longer periods as a punishment.
It was after one of these that Aidan was sent on mission that he didn't return from. The two of them were on their way back to Damian's room after having snuck out to look at the stars, Ra's spotted them as he was returning from some task he had been taking care of. Aidan took the blame, said that he had snuck out to look at the stars and when Damian realized had come to get him and make him to back to bed. They were only 8, but even at that young age he knew that doing anything but agreeing would make things worse for Aidan. Sneaking out after curfew was not nearly as bad as lying directly to Grandfathers face.
He stayed and continued his lessons, Aidan leaving to complete a mission he was assigned to as his consequence. 4 days later his Mother returned and broke the news to him, Aidan was dead, he would not be coming back.
After that Damian threw himself full force into his training, doing almost nothing save for eating and sleeping. After a bit Talia brought him to Gotham to reveal to him who his father was, because well he knew he was Batman he had not been told Batmans identity yet. After that he just seemed to get worse and angrier, and he was. He watched as Bruce interacted with Tim and resented it, knowing that Aidan would never even get to meet their father let alone be taught and cared for by him. Why should these placeholders get that when his twin did not? Never would?
Finally Talia told him he was ready to go to his Father to finish his training, allowing him to go to Gotham and make contact with The Bats. His first contact was with Nightwing, and soon he met his father face to face and became his Robin. Then just as he was starting to feel like maybe he could make a life in Gotham, maybe he didn't need to go back to the league? He died on him as well. He reverted back to the intense anger he'd had to start with and stopped doing anything outside of training and the necessary school work to keep up public appearances, slowly though between Alfred and Dick's continued presence, patience, and passion moments of telling him when he's being an asshole? He starts opening up again.
When Bruce showed back up alive and well again Damian was both happy and so vicerally angry, happy that Bruce had come back but also silently asking the universe why. Why couldn't Aidan have come back the way his father did? He never quite gets to the point of telling anyone about Aidan, or why he insists on celebrating his birthday the day before the first 3 years he's there. He tells himself that there's no reason to burden them with losing someone they had never met, and the might be part of it. But another part of it is selfishness; he doesn't want to have to share his memories of Aidan with any of them, and he knows it they find out about him they will ask about him.
