ikepri modern au thoughts
if they lived in today’s era what kind of music would they like?
jin would have the best taste in music, although the songs are a bit older. still great taste in music guaranteed to have the whole car vibing every time he got the aux. doesn’t listen to just one genre but he doesn’t listen to everything.
chevalier idk bro seems like he would listen to classical music like mozart and beethoven and shit
clavis would just listen to tiktok sounds
leon listens to anything and everything. if you like it, then he’ll listen to it. he tries to follow along to rap and he’s cringey when sings along to country songs. probably listens to songs in different languages too
yves i think would also listen to classical music but also has some pop faves also i think he’s the type to make playlists for literally everything
licht idk maybe some lofi stuff? he chill frfr or he might be into indie bands because he’s not like other guys
i don’t know nokto well enough so i think he would also listen to tiktok stuff
luke probably listens to nature asmr. maybe like animal asmr? idk that’s kinda weird nvm but like if it’s not raining and he wants to pretend he’s in an emotional movie, he’ll listen to rain/thunderstorm sounds. or maybe he wants to be at the ocean so he listens to waves crashing.
gilbert listens to girlfriend asmr because he wants to pretend like he’s in a relationship (me fr) i think he also watches/listens to asmr mukbangs
silvio doesn’t listen to music. he can’t because of all his jangling. just kidding (actually not really because i don’t know him that well too) so i’m just gonna say he listens to rap or aggressive metal songs. and then there’s like hoe anthem songs sprinkled in there because it makes him feel like the hottest mf out there
keith idk he probably also listens to girlfriend asmr because gilbert suggested it to him. and he secretly likes it?
sariel is too stressed to listen to music. oh maybe he should so he can relieve stress. maybe some calming meditation music? edit: he listens to podcasts and audiobooks
rio listens to whatever emma listens to.
idk y’all can hc whatever this is what i came up with on the spot

Since we all already know that I make lists in my sleep, baby I decided to make this too.
Alien ASMR roleplay recommendations
made by people who are to my knowledge not cancelled at the time of recording
Those are unfortunately far and few between and alien is the key word here - not just sci-fi, but necessarily containing an alien as at least one of the main characters. You know, the whole "never have I ever kissed a human" vibe.
These are all for gender neutral listeners and almost no yanderes.
Starline seasons one and two by the one and only Gav VA - two big series with a lot of lore and both plot heavy, first is a classical accidental abduction strangers to lovers, second is not less classical forced to work together enemies/rivals to lovers. Very lovely characters, adore both of them.
The Abduction series by Mage Bunkshelf - the last human alive abduction, a lot of confusion and cultural differences, yet again - the sweetest character, really want it continued.
The Specimen by The Storyteller - this is a legal abduction, everything is alright, you're being studied by a very excitable and flusterable researcher.
Alien Stranger part one and part two by Lyra VA - you're a badass and you're being rescued by the hottest and handsomest scientist with a V-neck going to his naval. He's really nice and lets you play with his hair.
Alien videos by Hollow_VA - unfortunately an unfinished series, loosely based on the "Alien" franchise about adventures with a caring alien on a space station where something very scary has happened.
Sadodere Pilot by Liu's Audio - you're semi-rescued by an alien pilot, who waxes philosophy and threatens to throw you out.
Alien Biomechanoid by Stygian Murmur - helping a big threatening looking guy after he had a crash landing and some negative experiences with humans.
Space Orc Series by Nightwatch ASMR - they're more afraid of you than you are of them - you're being studied by aliens, who treat you with caution.
Alien boy by Angels&Bread ASMR - a very cute alien saves you while struggling with the language barrier.
Center of the Universe and Alien Speed Dating and Abducted by a Kind Alien script fills by NaughtPlusZero - both are script fills, so you can find other versions of them. The first is sort of an isekai story, in which you're yet again being studied, the second is exactly what it says - speed dating a bunch of very different and interesting aliens, the third is a classical "abduction for your own good, let's be friends".
Encountering an Earthling (one, two, three) and The human touch script fill by Jupiter VA - in the series you're an alien, who tries to communicate with a human (and it's more difficult than you think); the script fill (yet again you can find other versions) is pretty sweet and explores the concept of an alien who has never experienced physical touch.
Intergalactic Dating Service by CardlinAduio - Cardlin has more alien audios, but not all of them are M4A and this one I just like more - a self-conscious alien thinks you're his soulmate.
Alien Interview and Alien Zookeeper by TheMusicalBoy'93 - the first one is the classical - abduction by a polite alien who wants you to tell them about humans and Earth and the second one... is why I put "almost" no yanderes up the - you're one of the last humans alive and you're being kept at a zoo by an alien who just has to be your sole owner. (I'm a sick bastard and I love it.)
The Space Pirates Saga one and two by Good Boy Audios - an extremely complicated series, very plot heavy, angsty, character dense and what not. It's difficult to say at this point who's the alien here.
Area 51 Cranial Nerve Exam by Jim ち ASMR - it might sound like a classical ASMR - even banal at this point - but it's not, it has a lot of details and a plot. Anyway, you're an alien who crush-landed in Nevada in the fifties and you're being tested by an Area 51 employee who's a little lost but has good intentions.
Feel free to add more!

It's M3 day!
I was particularly excited for this one, the releases on the past two were absolutely amazing, and the XFDs for this one also looked very promising. This time around i also took some time to check out some newer artists and see if i vibe with any of them.
First and foremost i want to give appreciation and massive props to ハルちゃん for putting together this behemoth of a roundup playlist, i couldn't check every single video but it was a lifesaver for me to have it at hand.
Ok then, starting with my Big Four™
youtube
Oh my gosh...
I could go all day explaining the reasons why i absolutely adore this, but to list the main ones:
First, it's nayuta and i'm madly in love with her by default. Second, look at this art like holy god. Third, i adore her concept albums, in my opinion it's some of the best stuff she puts out, like, the worldbuilding and sheer atmosphere that "Imaginary Arcadia" and "The Girl in the Alleyway..." invoke is nothing short of incredible. Fourth, the composer for this one is RD-Sounds, who y'know, made me ugly cry last month, and also made absolute bangers like LaPri's "Sore wa Sekai..." and Tamu's "Son Joyeux", so i have super high hopes for this. Fifth, i'm into the scenario for this one, i swear i've read like 10 yuri mangas with the same premise, so i'm excited to see whay nayuta does with it.
From the XFD it seems that this one is following up on "Clarity" and leaning heavily on the rock direction, but i think the lyrics are going to be front and center on this one, so i'll see if i can hold out judgement until it comes out proper but i'm soooo absolutely hyped to see what these two came up with!!!
youtube
Reject futuristic aesthetics, return to tradition.
I love the diversity on this one, i know that Sennzai is best known for her "burning-down-the-house" songs, but with how unique and captivating her vocals are, i just love seeing all the different directions she takes her songs towards (i really recommend checking out her karaoke streams she sings all sorts of stuff in those).
I'm particularly interested on the instrumentation for this one, i love when songs mesh together traditional instruments with modern composition styles, and Sennzai in particular seems to marry this traditional-but-not-quite theme perfectly, so i'm really excited to see how this one plays out.
(i really want to hear her sing Kalafina's Hyakka Ryouran now)
youtube
youtube
The Hifumi girls are taking a break from original stuff and putting out a cover collection this time around (apart from their usual commissoned work), and seeing how busy they were last year i don't blame them, get that bag and get some rest!
I'm particularly excited for Tamu's, she's covering "Killer Neuron" and Isekaijoucho's "Dimension" and i particularly want to hear how the latter sounds like in her voice, her vocals do have a similar texture to Ojou's but in a higher register, so i kinda wanna AB the two just to see what it's like.
Also also, the fact that they're covering each other's songs reeeeeeally makes me think that there's gonna be something big with these two coming soon, like the amount of "wink wink" vibes i've been getting from them lately is off the charts.
youtube
The fourth and final installment on the "Colours" series. I don't have much to say here because while it pains me to admit, i don't listen to Endorfin a whole lot. I have been making an effort to listen to more of them since Nakucha's first live and also because i really liked "Qulalim Stella", which is also by sky_delta, but i'm gonna have to do a listen-through on the whole series before i can say anything concrete.
youtube
As a college student these levels of comfiness are the stuff i fantasize about.
Not gonna lie, i was expecting this one to be much more low energy (in hindsight i don't know why she almost never does that), mainly because of the even-fluffier-than-her-usual-fluffiness visuals, but also because one of the reasons i love Nanahira is because her voice is actually very touching when she sings more calmly (see track 4).
Well, while not totally relaxing, i do like the slower stuff she's been going for lately, since her stuff is usually very upbeat, it's nice how between this and "It's a Message for You" she's been putting more "vibe-y" stuff in between the usual 200bpm madness. Something else that picked my interest on this one is that apparently the physical version comes with a manga, which as an overseas listener is out of my reach but the previews i saw on twitter were very cute, so it made me extra curious.
youtube
A back to back yosumi release? What world is this we live in??
Well, while it is a lot less tracks than her previous EP (which was more like an LP) it's still just surprising to see her at all. It could be just me, but i feel like she's been getting out there a lot more lately, like anytime i go on Twitter (which i do very sparingly these days) i see a post of hers, and i don't think that's how it usually was, but then again i'm very forgetful and it could be just normal. Whichever way, good for her, it can only be a good thing.
I really like the instrumentals on these, i know she's closer to the Electronica and EDM scene but dang if the mixing on those guitars and drums isn't just soo satisfying to hear.
youtube
Yuuri's got her first album ready! I've been keeping tabs on her since the NaYuri singles and i've been really enjoying her stuff so far. Her vocals are right up my alley, and from the looks of it she's going for that modern chill "slow-pop" vibe, which i also like quite a bit.
Also also, can i just say that for a first album this is incredibly well put together, the visuals are simple but very well made, and the mixing on the tracks is top notch. I noticed she has been getting some work on other albums but i do hope her solo stuff pops off because this is good stuff and i feel like she can make it very far with it!!
youtube
Here's one i ran into by chance, this actually popped up on my Twitter feed because the illustration is by an artist i follow, so i decided to check it out. I can't place it but i feel like i've seen the front girl, NoiR, before, like her design and name feel very familiar to me but i can't tell from where.
I'm not completely sold on the songs just yet, but i do think it might be worth keeping up with the group, they seem to have been at it for a while now and it could be interesting to see where this goes.
youtube
I absolutely love the vibes on this! Both of their voices are very gentle and easy on the ears, and they seem to have a very good grasp on how to blend them together. Not only that, but the instrumentals are also very well recorded and mixed, and go perfectly with their vocal profile.
I couldn't check both of them out in detail, but it seems that this is a very new unit, so i'm gonna keep an eye out to see what else they do.
And... that's it, again, i didn't check the whole playlist, so i definitely missed a few. But for my first time actually sifting through XFDs this extensively, i'm surprised not a whole lot caught my attention, considering i usually find something to like on pretty much anything. A lot of it was just instrumentals, or they had vocals that didn't particularly speak to me all that much.
Also, while i knew that male utaites are the minority in events like Comiket, i'm surprised that i didn't come across any looking through these, though, seeing the amount of kawaii pop in there i can see why they wouldn't find much of an audience there.
(also also the handful of ai generated album artworks there was a major bleh)
Well, while i did enjoy a couple of the albums, it wasn't particularly worth scanning the whole playlist for them, so i'm not that sure that i'll be as inclined to do another XFD deep dive on next M3. I did check out the XFD's from other big utaites that i don't follow (like Risa Yuzuki or Wotoha) and i liked it, but i'm still not super sold on them either.
I suppose i'll be sticking with the utaites/composers i already know for the time being. Now to wait for all of these to come out on streaming...

ugh just remembered when I was in that useless fucking social services job hunting workshop.... and the presenter, when she called me for my resume consult basically told me I was liar when I had the usual complaint that "oh just about EVERY entry level job where I am is DEMANDING that I have anywhere between 2 to 5 years experience already before applying"... and instead of confirming that is the problem with the job market today, she instead condescended to me saying "oh no honey that's bc they're HIGH LEVEL admin jobs demanding that and NOT ENTRY LEVEL. learn to read."
actually, no, sandra (not her real name). they're NOT high-level jobs. they're run of the mill front desk reception or call centre jobs, which are also basic data entry jobs.... that only 20 years ago (probably) would've been a walk-in off the street and be employed tomorrow thing, or NO experience needed, we'll train you!" type shit if you applied online.
now these positions are DEMANDING 2 to 5 years experience AND sometimes a combined traineeship for 1-2 years in business admin, pr that you ALREADY have the tafe cert III in business admin, bc they don't want you wasting time studying or waste their time training you. that's why I keep applying for traineeships bc half of these positions already come with one, or "the chance to take on a traineeship" which means, "we'll make you do it anyway and not reduce your workload to accommodate study time". if the job is advertised as a full-time position without the traineeship attached in the title (like a junior admin officer job or something that i've applied for at a local lawyer before).
just. I hated how dismissive this woman was all around. I know I should probs complain tk social services about her, but idk if anything would actually happen. and plus she'd be all like "oh everyone else in that class loved me, why don't you? just keep vibrating at 70htz in loathing and resentment and GET NO OPPORTUNITIES EVER bc of that. why did my teaching not get the IMPORTANCE of vibrating at 500htz ie. LOVE AND PEACE AND ACCEPTANCE is the ONLY thing that'll give you abundance and opportunities, through to you????"
uh maybe bc I see job hunting as a practical thing and not all the batshit reiki shit that I like in asmr for entertainment.... and the vision board mumbo jumbo of self-help internet is great coming from youtubers like Anna akana.... but NOT in a jobhunting working shop.... where you're guilting people about this mumbo jumbo is exactly why they'll never employed ever again. and esp since my old workplace tried to fire me for "ruining the positive family vibe of this workplave bc you rolled your eyes at me twice and are sarcastic from time to time 😥" during my performance meeting in November 2022. so obvs, I'll refuse to take that side of it seriously.
anyway my point was originally that im pissed of that this woman insisted that entry level jobs that are advertising 2 to 5 years experience aren't "entry level jobs, they're high level." when she was posed as an "employment expert" for this course.
no. they're NOT high-level jobs the bulk of the time. they're fucking run of the mill data entry which really only requires minimum skills in microsoft office and admin etc and a professional phone manner etc.... but instead they're asking for 2-5 years experience and intermediate to advanced microsoft office skills (or google suite etc) bc they want the applicant to do 25 jobs in place of 7 different people. which is shit I should be able to do with an arts degree. you're the one who really knows nothing.
but instead they want to drag me through another whole ass certificate 3 course and ANOTHER traineeship bc apparently an arts degree and a years worth of actual solid office experience isn't enough to man phones, do data entry, do front office reception and whatever dumbass shit "done with minimal supervision superhero" tasks they write in the job description on seek et al

Decemberween '23 — This Year's ASMRtists
If you’re not familiar with it, ASMR is an abbreviation meaning ‘autonomous sensory meridian response,’ a science sounding name for a reaction that some people get to a range of stimuli. This effect can be caused by a whole host of triggers but at least in the community on Youtube there’s a body of people who engage with it because of its ability to affect relaxation and restful mindsets. If you’re not familiar with what this looks like, it looks like a bunch of people making long videos with a strangely hushed affect.
And I watch and listen to them, to help me relax!
If you are familiar with it, hey, here’s some of the artists I’ve been watching this year, as the ASMR effect shifts around in my head and how I respond to it. One thing that people who don’t experience ASMR might not realise is that you can rely only on the effect being modestly unpredictable. Some stuff may cause it reliably for months and then suddenly, nothing. It pushes me to partake of new things regularly, and to that end, every year, I try to look at what artists are ‘new’ to me that I haven’t mentioned before.
Here then are four artists that I started paying attention to this year:
ASMR "Criminal" Lawyer Gets You Out of Trouble | BETTER CALL SAUL Parody
Watch this video on YouTube
I feel like I’ve watched more Amy Kay, like maybe I watched her years ago and I never got around to mentioning her. That’s probably likely, because she has an entire queer-read story about you being some variety of monarch, who started out being referred to as a dude, and then as the story evolved, the woman you’re talking to starts referring to you differently. Then eventually the series splits into two threads, with one half referring to ‘my lord’ and the other ‘my lady.’
Oh and then a cult got involved, it was an interesting story.
Anyway, Amy Kay does a lot of different types of video. Some of it is very mundane, some of it is very fantastic, and you’ll know if it’s the kind you respond to. Also, and this shouldn’t be a thing, but in the ASMR space, there’s a common responsiveness to media trends. When a Harry Potter movie comes out, a lot of people will make Harry Potter themed videos. It’s just a heavy trend, and I try not to hold it too much against the artists who are algorithm-responsive, but I am grateful when I see people fade out on it.
Amy Kay does have some videos about Harry Potter content, but it seems to be a thing of the past for now.
ASMR My Friend Brushes and Plays With My Hair
Watch this video on YouTube
Cosmo is an ASMR puppet. Cosmo is not unique as an ASMR puppet, but Cosmo is a puppet that does ASMR. And it’s a big friendly kind of puppet. You’re not going to see stuff that you won’t see from other ASMRtists by the way. Cosmo does roleplays about Recent Events (hi, Barbie Movie Tie In moment) and Cosmo does hand-focused gameplay videos (like Solitaire and Rush Hour), and Cosmo even does draw-along and ramble videos. In every way, Cosmo creates the most typical and normal content any middle of the road ASMRtist can produce, except for the alienation that comes from Cosmo being a puppet.
Alienation is important to me in ASMR. Roleplays don’t want to be realistic because they can’t be. Sometimes there are people who aim for normal, everyday kind of vibes, or expected behaviours, but because ASMR content is fundamentally weird (why are we all whispering?), the closer it gets to normalcy, the less likely it is to land for me. Give me something weird, give me something that recognisably can’t be real, and let me patch the gap in reality myself.
Cosmo’s great, and Cosmo isn’t real, but Cosmo exists and is my friend.
ASMR | making comfort food for a cold day
Watch this video on YouTube
I’m really selfconscious about my ASMR habits, especially since a lot of the ASMRtists I follow are very attractive women, some of whom are markedly younger than myself, and that makes me feel… oogy. It does mean that when I find myself responding to an ASMRtist who isn’t a pretty white girl, I try to make sure I mention it, and share their work. In this case, ASMRdido got on my radar through long, patient, whispered explanations of mathematical game concepts – particularly, the Monty Hall problem.
The other thing he does that I find useful for study is long (long) videos of playing a softly sounded, wood-and-velvet game called Close the Box. Close the Box is a great solo game because it underscores how little pieces you need to make a game out of something and still make it engaging.
ASMR-The Vintage Ice Cream Parlor Role Play🍨(Spooky Creations)
Watch this video on YouTube
And finally, Lloyd’s ASMR is a channel that’s… I think deliberately weird. Lloyd really turns up the ambient sound so if you don’t like the SHHHHH of an empty room, you might not like these. They’re slow, deliberate videos, and usually you can see the structure being something Lloyd has props for, reiterated in a new form. Door to door salesman, visiting a store, visiting an old style store. It’s a bit like a comprehensive library in that if you like one thing you can probably find ten or twenty versions of the same thing, even if they don’t make sense. Like you don’t get door to door bakery salespeople.
Lloyd is someone I like because of his gentle demeanour and I like the way that I, forgive me, don’t have to pay much attention. There’s not going to be a really funny joke or something I need to respond to, the way that (say) survey question videos invite me to. I know what I’m getting and I know there’s a reasonably large quantity of it, but also that it’s not about to impress me. It’s just sweet background noise and I’m not going to need to be afraid of something shocking or funny happening.
There! Here’s some stuff I’ve been listening to this year and I think makes my ability to focus and study better.
Check it out on PRESS.exe to see it with images and links!

I've been obsessed with translating asmr vibes into music for a decade and so far I've managed to think of three main principles and they are compression, phase alignment, and frequency modulation.
Compression is more about time than it is about loudness. You can apply compression as an effect to a sound and it will change the attack/onset and decay of the sound. It can change whether a sound feels close or far, light or heavy, in ways that constant volume can't. Compression can be a way to get that very tingly and satisfying tap or thwap or tonk or squish to a transient in a mix.
Phase alignment is hard to hear, but you can always feel it when it changes. I don't understand the whole thing, but it describes the period of a sound waveform when it crosses the centerpoint of its amplitude and how that relates to other waveforms in the same medium. Phase changes when a sound source gets closer or further from the listener (exhale into your hand while bringing it closer to and farther from your face and you'll hear it too). If a couple of similar waveforms line up with each other in that time domain, particularly when comparing stereo panned audio, they're considered to be coherent, and if they don't line up exactly or if they contradict each other then they're incoherent. Abstractly speaking when more than one waveform containing stereo right and left info are more coherent they sound more monophonic and centered and when they're more incoherent they sound wider and less centered. This can make sounds feel boring or annoying in isolation but the tingly parts of my brain love when this changes rapidly through a song and a rhythm.
Frequency is a massive part of making music tingly, or making it anything else, since it has a lot to do with what our ears and brains do and don't like to hear. On the surface it's the simplest part to explain, even though it's intimately connected with phase interference in practice — basically the volume of certain frequencies can completely change the perceived distance, direction, timbre and loudness of a sound. It can also suggest what the medium is that it's being heard through. It makes things underwater sound like they're underwater, it makes thin air sound thin and humid air sound humid, and of course it makes lofi lofi. Our ears are most tuned in to frequencies above 100Hz and below 7000Hz, with the sweet spots imo being around 220, 500, 800, 2400 and 6000, so focusing on that makes a good place for very satisfying asmr sounds. Adding frequencies below our above the ones in the middle of our range can bring more weight and more detail to it as well. Emphasizing different frequencies for the coherent sounds and the incoherent sounds can bring even more dimensionality to the feel of it. And finally, changing the frequency over time, like with a filter, can make that sound move even more.
So then the tingly music recipe seems to be using all three of these things together. Time effects like delays and reverbs help too. Keeping things right on the line between boring and distracting. There's a huge range of styles and sounds this can apply to. I will continue to experiment with this

The Viral Bentley Car Commercial and its Parodies: A Trifecta
[On this blog, look for the tag "car trifecta" to watch the videos mentioned in the following text]
The original commercial is basically an ASMR, where a conventionally attractive blonde woman taps and clicks around the car, repeatedly prodouncing "Bentley" in a seductive voice.
All three parodies riff off different aspects of this, each completing each-other.
EXAMPLE ONE:
A woman taps and clicks around a shitty old car. The woman radiates unmistakable lesbian vibes. The car is crap. This parody subverts the original meaning of the commercial by presenting an undesirable product, and a woman that doesn't pander to conventional male heterosexual desires. The subversion of the original appeal seems complete. But a second parody soon emerges.
EXAMPLE TWO:
A fit young man stands next to a Lamborghini. He says the words "Lamborghini URSS" in a thick slavic accent. He immediately proceeds to tear the car apart with his bare hands. This time around, the product doesn't present itself as immediately crappy, so its destruction takes the meaning of an unmasking. The man is lethal and handsome, and there's a sense of homoeroticism to the whole scene. The male audience's sexuality is, therefore, also at risk of unmasking.
EXAMPLE THREE:
An older man clicks and taps around a train. The original meaning of the commercial is, somehow, more respected here than elsewhere. He is genuinely showing off a product. The parody comes from a desexualization of the protagonist of this video. However, this doesn't mean that the video is itself desexualized. This time around it's the machine, in its clunky, massive, metallic magnificence, the target of the audience's sexual energy.

Number 6 with aiden, Casper, and Devon
crying at the fact that two different anons sent me this exact combo. to be fair i think this question actually sums up their personality types completely flawlessly
go clothes shopping with: devon. he is a CANONICAL fashionista and i feel like he would fully take on a new identity as my personal stylist and come up with things i had never considered. on the other hand if he hated something i put on i feel like his constructive criticism would verge almost on the line of giving me a brand new insecurity but he thinks he is just doing a public service in the name of fashion
go to ikea with: CASPER. he's a DAD. he comes in with a full shopping list and itinerary. ranks items based on style function ease of construction and durability. carries all the boxes. AND comes home to help build everything. he does all of this completely unprompted and with full commitment while giving off the impression that he would rather be literally anywhere else
go grocery shopping with: aiden. he just has the vibe of someone who genuinely really enjoys a big tesco trip. it's not like a chaotic big tesco trip though (that is devon's domain. turn around for 3 seconds and he's put like 12 tinnies in the trolley because he saw they were 4 for the price of 3 with a clubcard) it's very calm. meditative. asmr that girl grocery shopping whole foods restock routine

completely, totally, 1000% agree with everything you’ve said regarding vox essentially undoing any work that was made with his guerilla “setting boundaries stream” during that most recent sims one. i get that he was expressing a fault in himself that he’s going to be treated for, but by openly admitting that on stream he is once again condoning and enabling that behavior in the more extremist side of his fanbase and i just…am exhausted with it to be honest. not to mention the pretentious “what i have with you guys is different from what other streamers have with their fans, the relationship between us is different!” spiel. plus he literally mentioned that others in nijisanji have advised him against the way that he approaches his fans, yet the speech seemed to essentially disregard their suggestions in favor of feeding that obsessive, unhealthy mindset and i’m over it atp. i really enjoyed vox’s general content (not asmr, not rp—just gameplay and collabs) but after this entire mess it is incredibly hard to separate him and his fanbase because they are inextricably feeding off of eachother and he himself has admitted to that. i hope he gets a good therapist, and i’m happy for him seeking help—but i don’t really know how i’ll approach him moving forward. the whole entire situation (along with others that have been stepping stones leading up to this) has left a bad taste in my mouth.
no exactly. like he shouldn't have even set the boundaries at all if this was what was going to happen. and to say "we're different and we have a different vibe here!! i'm #notlikeotherstreamers " is such bullshit because the other livers all have the loving, caring vibes w their viewers without the unhealthy addition of the parasocial shit. like. hello?
along with that, it's just...such a slap in the face to the others that have expressed concern and worry to be like "i'm not letting others dictate my content and i'm going to keep making these things that have allowed the unhealthy shit to get worse". i just worry that this is going to bleed into more issues that it currently has.
also the fact the reimu is blaming herself? that's got me FUCKED UP. she did nothing wrong. and i really hope others in niji are telling her that.
but honestly you're right. i started distancing myself a while ago because i couldn't handle trying to watch his streams and seeing/hearing the absolutely horrendously horny shit people would send w their supas. and then i saw the asmr streams and i just...had this feeling that it wasn't going to be good. and well. here we are. i'm happy he's seeking help and i hope his therapist helps him realize that parasocial relationships can never be healthy and that maybe therapy will lead to him setting actual boundaries but until then i can't fuck w him.

current Top 5 comfort tv show episodes.
This is really hard for me, like, I certainly have comfort foods and comfort movies (maybe comfort series? and stories) I'm not sure that I engage with TV the same way. A lot of the time I feel like I have to mentally prepare myself to sit down and watch a new show and really pay attention, (to better appreciate the animation direction or details) or else, if I'm rewatching something, it's a whole show so I can work on some art project or something. Not exactly a "I had a rough day so I'm going to watch that one episode of that one show" vibe.
I can tell you the *type* of episodes that give me those feel goods though, maybe that's helpful? XD
-Christmas episodes. NOT Thanksgiving episodes or Valentine's episodes because the tend to revolve around everything going wrong (especially with a meal ahhhhh) and it stresses me out. Christmas hijinks are usually sillier and I can enjoy them without worrying about characters getting food poisoning.
-Bottle episodes. What can I say, I love me some character development and dialogue.
-Any of the holiday specials of the Great British Bakeoff/Baking Show. The whole show is pretty cozy, but something about the holiday specials is even more "I'm just happy to be here" and it feels less like people are geared up about the competition and more about trying new things bc it's not like they're worried about being sent home
-If youtube "programs" count, (I certainly watch a lot more of them than regular TV) then certainly the food and travel vlogs of Miss Mina. She has an adventurous spirit, but her description of the places and food she encounters are always so poetic and soothing. I've fallen asleep to her voice more than once (and that wasn't even her ASMR channel!)-
-It's sappy, but any episode of a show where a character gets to see that they've made a difference, maybe without realizing it, or that their work was actually appreciated by others, even if those people weren't in a position to show it. I think it's really comforting to imagine that our struggles aren't in vain, even if we can't see the bigger picture and how what we do matters to other people.
Sorry these aren't more specific answers, I hope they still illuminate something for you, though!

Harry’s House - Album Review
Tumblr media
A review from two tumblr moots - Maya [ @fishnets-fingers ] and Aprajita [ @0oolookitsme ]. While Aprajita listened to the album when it came out, Maya bit the bullet and listened to the leaks a week before the release. We’ve put down our thoughts for each track, we wrote an album review with a rating, and ranked it with the older albums in Harry’s discography.
 1. Music For a Sushi Restaurant
M- Weird. But I love the way it sounds. Definitely the right opening track. The horns - I LOVE. It really threw me off because this is not the type of music I was expecting from him but I’m not complaining if the whole album is gonna be like this. It’s cause I love you babe. Every kind of way. Just a little taste. You know I love you babe. These lyrics are my favourite.
A- I literally laughed when I focused on the lyrics. Like, this song is so goddamn fun, could be played in a club too maybe, or just depressed and tipsy students could dance to this during parties. And when the ‘aah’ goes from low to high, just makes me clench my eyes cause it just feels so good! + The moment I heard: scooby do bo, I was like yas king!   (literally obsessed with this song these past two days)
2. Late Night Talking
M- The Coachella song. Didn’t like it when it was performed but it definitely grew on me. I LOVE the chorus. Very cute premise of staying up and talking with the one you are currently infatuated with. Nothing very remarkable about it for me.
A- There would be rare moments in my life when I’d want to play this song, but those moments will be just perfect. Defo the one I’ll skip sometimes. But when he tunes the words before the “If you feeling dow…”, is the reason this song is playing continuously in my head, and not to forget the 12..34..56 kinda chorus. This one kinda gives me the vibes of when the whites are on a car ride during summers, yanno?
3. Grapejuice
M- The whispered one two three from Harry in my ears really invaded my personal bubble. HELLO ASMR KING LMAO. Very eh for me… I’m very curious to see how he’d perform this live (I’m picturing he sits down on stage). The crooning chorus was divine. I feel like the only way I’d appreciate this song to its fullest when it’s being played is on a long road trip and it’s super dark outside - with patches of light pouring in through the streetlight - and everyone in the car is asleep and it’s eerily quiet, except for the whir of the car.
A- The 123 really did catch me off-guard cause you know, I didn’t expect his voice to be so low and raspy. I’m not THAT infatuated with this song but I just know I’ll probably grow on this song when I’ll start going on walks during the afternoon or late mornings, cause I’d defo play it at that moment.
4. As It Was
M- Sweet sweet as it was. Harry’s pumped up kicks era. It’s a nice reminder to know that he’s just as messed up as the rest of us. I loved it when it came out but I’m tired of this song, to be honest. It’s overplayed - it’s on every other story/ reel/ post/ video on instagram - and I’m ready to move on.
A- This song is chef's kiss and because I don’t see this song on Insta that much, I don’t think I’ll ever skip this song. Like.. I could hear this song in whatever mood I’m in, literally.
5. Daylight
M- My little gem. I absolutely love this. It’s this album’s Golden. I have a feeling that this was written super late at night. Or at least that’s the vibe I’m getting. The ooh in the chorus is the best part. Wished this would go on for a whole ten minutes… sigh.
A- I’ve been listening to this one a lot lately. Like, 's the best song so far. I love the poetry kinda vibes from the lyrics and the music is>> Like this instantly made it to my faves. I can’t -and won’t-  stop listening to this literal gem.
6. Little Freak
M- Mayhaps we’ve got ourselves another Complicated Freak on our hands? Oh how wrong I was, expecting it to go a very different route. Still don’t know how to feel about this… I feel like this is
the song in the album that I’d skip and suddenly listen to it in a few months and mentally curse myself for not appreciating it a bit sooner and have it on repeat.
A- His voice… omg. This song is the ‘Cherry’ of this album. He sounds so vulnerable! Like I can imagine his nose getting slightly pink because of the chilly atmosphere while listening to this one. I expected this one to be a sex song so I wasn’t ready. All I know is that I’m ready to see this on my ‘on repeat’ playlist on Spotify. “You never saw my birthmark..” …and I LOST it.
7. Matilda
M- It’s very sweet. I got very emotional listening to it. I love the perspective he took while writing it. Not a skip. It has a place in my heart.
A- I love the tears I had in my eyes while listening to this song as I was alone in the kitchen, sitting on the slab and preparing myself tea. The fact that I read the novel this song has been inherited from just makes it so much more meaningful to me cause you see, I read that story when I was 11 or 12. Don’t even be surprised if you see me listening to this one while having a breakdown in the bathroom.
8. Cinema
M- I think this is the most different out of all the songs in the album. Love the way he says cool. Definitely going into my horny playlist. Don’t like the bridge that much though. Bit too long in my opinion.
A- After 2 emotional songs, this changed my mood in a snap of fingers. Like my mood doesn’t change this quickly when I’m on my periods mate. I might skip this one sometimes, though.
9. Daydreaming
M- Absolutely loved all three minutes and seven seconds of this. Very dancey. I could totally see myself convincing people to start a conga line when this song starts at parties. I saw a post that said Taylor Swift’s exes are making music together and sign me up if it’s gonna give us more bops like this.
A- Literally can see myself dance-walking to this song. Like, I’ll be dancing like some old but active and fit old man to this song lmao.
10. Keep Driving
M- This is hands down my favourite song on the album. It’s super airy and his voice sounds beautiful. Had this on repeat for days now. Side boob, cocaine, choke her with a sea view, edibles, puff pass - Harry what in the name of debauchery. It’s my favourite of all the bridges. Only can pepper in shit like in a sweet sounding sound.
A- I agree so much with your review. I can see myself humming this song out of the blue. That’s literally what I’ve been doing since today morning so-. Love this song. Can listen to this song on any type of car drive. But this song is either made to be heard super early in the morning, or on a chilly evening. But there's hustle-bustle around during both the times.
11. Satellite
M- I expected this to sound similar to cinema but it’s not. It’s giving me a very Jonas Brothers vibe. Very forgetful for me. Don’t particularly like it.
A- I kinda like this song. Like, really like this song hahah. He did a few innovations with this one but honestly, I love ‘em.
12. Boyfriends
M- Boring. It’s a sweet song but it’s the one song I dislike on the album. Hate me all you want but it’s a guaranteed skip from me.
A- This song- hmm, I think I’ll only listen to this when I’m feeling the loneliest. Like this song digs a pit in my chest, at least it feels so. I’ll be scared to listen to this song most of the time so I don't know how often will I let it play.
13. Love Of My Life
M- Shoot me in the face, this was so beautiful and vulnerable. The synth was just chef’s kiss. It’s unfortunate, just coordinates, keep echoing in my head for some reason. All in all, such a lovely way to sign off.
A- The piano in the end is what broke the dam.
Final Review & Rating:
M- Lyrically not his best. I think Fine Line was the best lyrically. It’s much more ambiguous than what he used to write - much more ambiguous than what it used to be. It’s giving me a lot of similarities to Bon Iver but he’s just not on par yet (sorry Harry and the writing team). Sonically, I absolutely love it. Super different and playful. Groovy. Jazzy. Disco. It’s the best sound he’s ever put out. It’s still at the bottom and this is just my first impression but albums usually take time to grow on me and who knows maybe in three months, I have a feeling it will knock his first album to the bottom of my list. 7/10.
A- I’m really starting to grow on this album now, but it still sits at the bottom for me. The more I play, the deeper I find it so I have a feeling that this might take the position of his self-titled album by the end of this year… I’ll give this album an 8.5/10 :)
Ranking:
M- Fine Line for me still is on the throne. Followed by his first album and then very closely, followed by Harry’s House.
A- Fine Line > Harry Styles > Harry’s House.

You or any followers have any tips on how to map a story for a comic when you have unmedicated adhd because i am suffering here lmao
Im so sorry I don’t know anything about making comics 😭
Hopefully some of my followers could help tho!
Here’s so tips I got from my script writing class which might be helpful!
I mean my assumption is that it would be similar to how you would go about writing any story. Create your outline for the course of the story / block out your plot.
Do a separate, more detailed outline/bullet point each “episode”
Do an even MORE detailed outline for one one you’re working on.
Write your script (scripts can be used even for comics!)
Once you got that done and revisited, try to make little thumbnail sketches on a duplicated document to get a vibe for how you might want that section to look!
For the adhd part:
do what works best for you! Somethings that might work for me might not work for you and that’s okay!!
Don’t overpressure yourself into trying to complete the whole thing or whatever in one sitting; you’ll burn out!
Try to set a deadline, and if you have anyone you feel comfortable enough to do this with, ask them to check in on you and your progress on that date!
Celebrate milestones even if their small! Could be with a small treat or a break or a pat on the back!
Sometimes having a body double can help so if you got a friend or anything/anyone you can have “in the background” even if it’s like a twitch stream it might help! Bonus points if they’re working on something similar to you!
I recently found out that putting asmr on helps me A LOT! So small background noises like that or lofi beats type of deal might also work!
PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY AND TURN IT OFF!!! The phone is the biggest distraction in the world, you’ll get nothing done if you’re checking it every five minutes!
There’s a study method where you do like 20 minutes of work and take a 5 minute break and take a 15 minute break every hour. This works and feel free to adjust the times!
If you’re feeling like your burning out for the day keep going for like 10-30 minutes and then see if you need to stop still. There’s no shame in packing it in early!
The worst thing you can do is beat yourself up! Adhd is a disability obviously so comparing yourself to the way NT or even other ND people work will do you no good. Everyone is different and needs to take things at their own speed there’s zero shame in needing to either slow your pace, stop, or go crazy and spring once in a while.
Hope this helped!

I really love your gas station attendant au and how much you like Izanami and I was wondering if you’ve ever heard the songs Samishii Kami-sama and Yume Miteta no Atashi by Daoko. The lyrics really remind me of Izanami and I wanted your thoughts on it ^^
first of all thank you for liking mnnbmmg gas staton atendant . i will do my best to elaborate and publish more context for this concept .bowing bowing shaking your hand. my love and hate for this pile of polygons and lore is unparalleled (self-proclaimed). also thank you for the music recs everyone else should do that more often make tumblr user kai moeru listen to songs and imagine mvs to them which they wont commit to actually making
ALSO here the tracks dear anon sent and the lyric translations i referenced hee hee: Samishii Kami-sama (lyrics); Yume Miteta no Atashi (lyrics) i am also being informed there's a music video but i didnt watch that sorry
I havent heard Daoko in years (only actually listened to like. two tracks back then) and it's as whispery and colorful as ever. ANYWAY the fact i imagined mvs in my head means i do in fact have: Thoughts
I usually dislike the asmr whispery discography but i greatly appreciate the song rec. Yume Miteta no Atashi sounded like SOTL (personaQ) at some part which I thought was a banger. As with any sort of lyrics, I like to interpret them in a more general and platonic sense so any sort of subtext I don't really take into account or recognize at all in general does that make sense. i like blorbo lore and I'll do anything to pin down the most absurd dots to connect to in my absolutely cluttered conspiracy board in my brain
mhm yeah love the identity crisis vibes and wanting change despite the belief and/or the actual lack of humanity in oneself. The want to learn about others and become human just to fit into a world you think you'd be better off in because of what you've seen and experienced in some sort of way. Creating a "virtual world" you stick yourself to hide in which collapses under the light of the truth and "reality" you cant seem to distinguish anymore from that you've made. Desperately trying to rebuild it on your own while still having that godforsaken desire to be with others, proving the point that the humanity within you is to be social and live and not simply survive. Opening up and getting hurt though that's the only way to fulfill your own wishes you yourself don't understand or think is absurd due to the environment you've lived in this whole time with the assigned duty you've had since birth as you're placed into the world's unspoken hierarchical status to accomplish something. Wanting to be felt—wanting the "real" self to be felt. To love and be loved at the cost of the world collapsing. This song is literally called "lonely god" (<- is purposely talking about this as vaguely as possible because it also applies to other characters I am very correct about)
yeah that first line also applies to Yume Miteta no Atashi (The Me who Dreamed). Living a constant routine and trying to steer off the train's rails to live the wish to try something different with those that you've met and have their own paths in life they can change than stick to a fate so mundane and predictable and possibly inhuman. Wanting to change and be different and fit in a world where all the people you want to connect to each other are so unique and are breathing and living and sparkling. unlike you. Being so happy at the simple fact to have met others and saying "I am not alone." Yet stuck following a flowchart where words fall out of your mouth to meet some supposedly world altering and fulfilling goal. Considering every as insufficient because it doesn't sate a desire that was meant to be fulfilled. Was that just selfishness? Self righteousness? Just to desire something? That a dream will stay stuck as a dream because it was something "impossible." Just wanting to be liked and loved and be with others and feeling that glint of acceptance spark the thought of such a dream in the first place.
anyway yeah im very normal about songs and symbolism and interpreting and things thank you again for the song recs and how this both reminded us of iznmi . hope you like this unproofread word vomit of The thoughts.
